Which comparisons are on Trees and palms?

Is a kentia palm winter hardy in the UK?

No. The Royal Horticultural Society rates Howea forsteriana H1A, heated glass warmer than 15°C all year. A kentia is not a Chusan palm. Outdoor hardy palms are on the hardy palm trees comparison.

Does hardy on the listing mean the tree will survive a British winter?

Not by itself. On the hardy ornamental trees pages, hardy is a seller word. The useful scale is the RHS hardiness rating, and a young pot is not the mature plant that rating describes. Bay in that set is H4; Acer palmatum is H6 and wants shelter.

Are the olive trees in the olive tree comparison living plants?

No. All twelve listings are faux floor trees, from about £29.74 to about £56.99. A living Olea europaea is a nursery plant. The RHS rates it H4, and it wants sun and sharp drainage. Those needs are not scored on the faux page.

Can an artificial tree stay outside in the UK?

Treat indoor and outdoor as a title, not a test. None of the twelve artificial tree listings shows a British Standard or a UV certificate. UK reviews of the Aptliton olive and the Alupssuc 5 ft olive describe blue or blue-green fade in the sun.

Should you paint every pruning cut with tree wax?

The Royal Horticultural Society and the Arboricultural Association say you should leave most clean cuts open. Paint can trap moisture and slow compartmentalisation. When a seal is justified, the top pick in the tree wax set is Provanto Arbrex, 300 g, at about £7.80.

Why is there no top pick for hardy palm trees or the kentia palm?

Hardy palm trees has one listing, a 55 cm Chusan at about £44, with no Customer Reviews line, so one row is not ranked. Kentia palm mixes a living Howea with a silk tree and a plastic tree, and the score method withholds both awards.

How do you check whether a tree bench will fit the trunk?

Measure the circumference at about 90 cm high and at the widest point near the base, then divide each figure by 3.14. The larger result is the diameter the opening must clear, with room left for growth. In this set only the Relaxdays steel bench prints an inner opening, 70 cm.
