Top pick: Jevervd ratchet kit, 1/4–7/8 inch Best value: Toolzone lever, 15 mm and 22 mm – About £34.95, score 90, 4.5 from 73. The cheaper of the two levers that claim 15 mm and 22 mm copper. Updated 23 October 2026.
A pipe bender is a hand tool that curves tube. In the UK you buy one for a copper heating or water bend, a short brake or fuel line, or soft air-conditioning tube. Domestic copper is sized by outside diameter to BS EN 1057. Half-hard tube in straight lengths needs a former that matches that diameter. Soft tube can take a crossbow or an internal spring. Hard tube is a fitting, not a bend. Match the outside diameter, the temper and the wall before you trust the title. A tool sold for 6–10 mm does not bend 22 mm plumbing tube. Metric and inch are not the same groove: 10 mm is not 3/8 inch. A lever needs room for the arms and makes a larger domestic size practical. An internal spring or a plastic insert suits a tight space or soft tube. Gas fittings need a Gas Safe registered engineer. Stationary air conditioning needs an F-gas qualification. Size, temper and wall, in that order, are set out in the [pipe bender buying guide](/hub/diy-supplies/pipe-bender/sub/pipe-bender-buying-guide).

The Jevervd kit is a ratcheting tube bender at £89.99 and 4 kg, with seven heads from 1/4 inch to 7/8 inch, a reverse attachment, a cutter for 3/16 inch to 1-1/4 inch outside diameter, reamers, two supports, a manual, and an ABS case. The listing claims 0° to 90° forward and reverse on copper, aluminium, and other soft metal. Across 1 amazon.co.uk review the line is 5.0, dated 8 September 2026, and that reviewer says the reverse attachment reaches tight spots near walls. There is no written criticism because there is only one review. The measurement field says metric while the heads are listed in inches, and no 15 mm or 22 mm former is named. The mapped score is 100 and it does not take the top pick, because the comparison requires at least 100 reviews for that badge. It is a soft inch-tube kit with a reverse head, not a heating lever.
Pros
Seven inch heads from 1/4 inch to 7/8 inch, plus a reverse attachment
Cutter, reamers, supports, manual, and an ABS case in the box
The only review says the reverse head reaches tight spots
0° to 90° forward and reverse claimed
Cons
5.0 from one review, dated 8 September 2026
Heads are in inches while the measurement field says metric
No 15 mm or 22 mm former
£89.99, and only one review describes a bend
Best for: You want a cased inch-size ratchet kit with a reverse head and you accept a single review.
Less suitable: 15 mm or 22 mm heating copper, or any choice that needs more than one UK review.
The IRWIN Hilmor GLM is a lever bender supplied with 15 mm and 22 mm formers and guides, listed at £78.98, 4.65 kg, and about 79.2 cm long. Across 243 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.7, and UK reviewers use it on small heating systems and on hot and cold water, including clean 15 mm bends with no ripple. The same sample says 22 mm takes a lot of force and the handles feel short. One tool snapped at a weld on 22 mm copper after about six months, and more than one review mentions a hook stop that dents the tube or ripples that stayed after cleaning and oiling. There is no storage bag, and a centre nut arrived too tight for one buyer. The bullets still print copper to BS 2871, which is withdrawn, and they limit stainless and mild steel to 15 mm. The listing does not state a bend angle. It is the top pick in this set when you want both heating sizes and the larger review sample, and the wrong tool for 6–10 mm tube or for a gas fitting.
Pros
15 mm and 22 mm formers and guides at £78.98
4.7 from 243 amazon.co.uk reviews
UK reviews describe heating and hot and cold water bends
Stainless and mild steel are at least claimed at 15 mm
Cons
22 mm needs a lot of force, and one tool snapped at a weld
Hook stop can dent the tube, and ripples show up on 22 mm
No storage bag, and the listing states no bend angle
BS 2871 on the bullets is a withdrawn tube standard
Best for: You bend 15 mm and 22 mm copper on small heating or water jobs and want the larger review sample.
Less suitable: Soft 6–10 mm tube, a tight cupboard with no room for the arms, or any gas fitting.
The bullets say copper to BS2871 at 15–22 mm, with 15 mm and 22 mm formers and guides supplied. BS2871 is the number printed on the listing.
Does the listing include stainless steel at 22 mm?
No. The amazon bullets limit stainless steel to BS4127 at 15 mm, and mild steel to BS4152 at 15 mm.
Do the reviews mention marks or a case?
The listing does not state degree marks. Reviews say there is no storage bag. One nut arrived too tight, and one tool snapped at a weld on 22 mm copper.
The VBESTLIFE 3-in-1 is listed at £42.99 and 1.25 kg for the same soft inch sizes as the Goshyda: 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch outside diameter, wall 0.7 mm to 1.5 mm, copper and aluminium only, 0° to 180°. Across 5 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.6. The only review text in the stored reviews is a UK line that says it bends pipe, with no fault written and no description of the tube. A case is asked on the listing and not included in the bullets. At £42.99 it costs more than the Goshyda and the Hocomay and still has almost nothing in writing about a real bend. The size claim is at least consistent, which the mixed metric and inch titles nearby are not. It remains a soft inch-tube tool, not a 15 mm or 22 mm lever.
Pros
Consistent 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch claim with a stated wall
4.6 from 5 amazon.co.uk reviews
Soft copper and aluminium only, printed on the listing
One UK line says it bends pipe
Cons
The only written review does not say which tube or which angle
A case is asked and not listed
Five reviews is a thin sample at £42.99
Not for 15 mm or 22 mm heating tube
Best for: You want a stated inch-size soft-tube bender and can live with almost no review detail.
Less suitable: 15 mm or 22 mm copper, or a purchase that depends on a described UK bend.
The Toolzone lever bends 15 mm and 22 mm copper and is listed at £34.95, about 5 kg, and 76 cm long, with former radii of about 45 mm and 75 mm. Across 73 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.5. UK reviewers report usable bends, including a first plumbing job, 15 mm that did not collapse, and short S-bends on a bathroom refit. They also say there are no 45°, 90°, or centre-of-bend marks, no bag, and in one case no instructions, so the inserts were unclear. One buyer creased the copper on every bend and then bought a different brand. More than one review says the tool arrived looking used, including marks on the 22 mm guide, and a long pipe is awkward in a confined space. The bullets name copper only. It is the best value of the two 15 mm and 22 mm levers when you will mark the pipe yourself, and a poor match if you need printed angles or any tube other than copper.
Pros
15 mm and 22 mm formers at £34.95
4.5 from 73 amazon.co.uk reviews
Stated former radius of about 45 mm and 75 mm
UK reviews include 22 mm bends without a crease
Cons
Reviews say there are no 45°, 90°, or centre marks
One buyer creased the copper on every bend
No bag, and some tools arrived looking used
Awkward with a long pipe in a confined space
Best for: You bend 15 mm and 22 mm copper occasionally and will mark the pipe because the tool has no angle marks.
Less suitable: You need degree marks on the tool, a metal other than copper, or a bend in a tight cupboard.
The Goshyda 3-in-1 is listed at £39.99 and 1.27 kg for soft copper and aluminium only, at 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch outside diameter, with a wall of 0.7 mm to 1.5 mm and a bend from 0° to 180°. The bullets name an aluminium alloy body and a soft rubber handle. Across 2 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.5. The only review text in the stored reviews is from Germany, dated 11 June 2026, and it says the tool was as advertised without describing a bend. There is no UK review text and no stated former radius. It is a clearly inch-sized soft-tube tool, unlike the mixed Hocomay bullets, and the review sample is too thin to tell you how the groove behaves on a real brake line. It does not claim 15 mm or 22 mm.
Pros
Inch sizes and a 0.7–1.5 mm wall stated together
Soft copper and aluminium only, so the limit is printed
0° to 180° claimed, at 1.27 kg
Cons
Only two reviews, and the written line is not from the UK
That review does not describe a bend
No former radius and no case stated
Not for 15 mm or 22 mm tube
Best for: You have soft inch-size copper or aluminium and accept a two-review sample.
Less suitable: Metric heating tube, or a buyer who wants UK review detail before paying £39.99.
The LIBRATON tube bender is listed at £21.99 and 510 g for 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm, with reference marks at 0°, 45°, 90°, 135° and 180°. Across 20 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.4. A UK reviewer called the result easy, and another bent 10 mm 316 stainless with effort, using a 10 mm drill shank in the tube end to stop it flattening. The listing does not claim stainless, and it prints no wall limit. A French review says it scratches copper. The bullets name plumbing, refrigeration, brake line, and air conditioning, which is a wide claim for a tool with no stated wall. It is a metric small-tube bender with clearer degree marks than some neighbours in this set, and it is still the wrong former for 15 mm or 22 mm half-hard heating stick.
Pros
6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm stated without an inch equivalent
Marks at 0°, 45°, 90°, 135° and 180°
4.4 from 20 amazon.co.uk reviews
Aluminium alloy body at 510 g
Cons
No wall limit on the listing
A UK stainless bend needed a drill shank to stop the end flattening
A French review reports scratches on copper
Not for 15 mm or 22 mm heating tube
Best for: You want a 6–10 mm metric bender with stated degree marks and will stay on soft tube.
Less suitable: 15 mm or 22 mm copper, or stainless you expect the listing to allow.
Yes. The listing states reference marks at 0, 45, 90, 135, and 180 degrees.
What is it made of?
The bullets say aluminium alloy die-casting, with a sandblasted and plastic-sprayed finish.
Did a review bend stainless?
One UK review bent 10 mm 316 stainless with effort. The listing does not claim stainless. That review used a drill shank to stop the tube end flattening.
The Toolwiz 3-in-1 is listed at £12.79 and 460 g for soft 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm tube, with marks from 0° to 180° and a wall of about 0.8 mm or less. Across 1,419 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.3, which is the largest sample in this set, and the stored notes do not include every review. UK reviewers report brake lines, fuel lines, and 10 mm copper or aluminium without a kink. They also report a handle that broke, a snap after about a week, and failure on steel rod or steel pipe, which matches the listing line that it is not for hard solid steel. One UK buyer says an inch tool arrived against a metric order and 10 mm tube sat nearly 0.5 mm out of the groove. Wrinkles on 10 mm copper and a groove that damaged 8 mm copper are in the same sample. The title treats those metric sizes as 1/4, 5/16 and 3/8 inch. It is the small-tube tool with the most reviews, and it is the wrong purchase for 15 mm or 22 mm heating pipe.
Pros
£12.79, with 4.3 from 1,419 amazon.co.uk reviews
UK reviews include brake lines, fuel lines, and 10 mm copper
Soft wall of about 0.8 mm stated, and 0° to 180° marks
Compact, at 460 g
Cons
Handles snap in UK reviews, including on steel the listing excludes
10 mm tube did not sit in an inch groove for one buyer
Wrinkles and damaged 8 mm copper appear in the sample
Not a 15 mm or 22 mm former
Best for: You bend soft 6–10 mm copper, aluminium, or brass and want the largest review count in this set.
Less suitable: 15 mm or 22 mm heating tube, hard steel, or a groove you have not checked against the real tube.
The FUZVOL 3-in-1 is a small crossbow listed at £9.99 and 440 g, with marks from 0° to 180° and a soft wall limit of 0.8 mm. The title states 6 mm, 8 mm and 10 mm together with 1/4 inch, 5/16 inch and 3/8 inch, and the listing does not show a measurement that those pairs match. Across 13 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.2. The stored reviews hold three short UK lines, all favourable, and no written criticism, so the sample does not describe a failed bend. The bullets allow soft copper, aluminium, or brass and tell you not to use an extension or excessive force. It will not accept 15 mm or 22 mm heating tube. At this price it is a soft-tube tool with a thin review sample, and the mixed metric and inch title is the reason to check the groove on an offcut before you trust it.
Pros
£9.99 for a 6, 8 and 10 mm crossbow at 440 g
Angle marks from 0° to 180°
Soft wall stated up to 0.8 mm
Three short UK reviews in the notes are favourable
Cons
Metric and inch sizes are stated as if they were the same groove
Only 13 reviews, with no written criticism to judge
Not for 15 mm or 22 mm heating tube
Best for: You bend soft 6–10 mm copper, aluminium, or brass and will check the groove against the tube you have.
Less suitable: Half-hard 15 mm or 22 mm plumbing tube, or a job that needs a deep review sample.
The Yosoo set is four high-density polyethylene strips at £24.80 and 830 g, sold for air-conditioning copper, not a lever. Across 12 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.2. UK reviewers use them on split-system pipe, and one installer says they could not have fitted the air conditioner without them. The listing says four sizes and does not name the diameters, and the only photograph in the capture is the small listing thumbnail, 300 by 157 pixels, so the picture does not show which sizes are in the pack. One UK review says a strip stretched on first use and was then the wrong size, a German review says excess pull stretches the bands, and that conflicts with the bullet that claims no deformation. A UK reviewer also used them on PC hard tubing, which is not in the bullets. They are an internal support for soft air-conditioning tube if the unnamed size happens to match, and they are the wrong object for 15 mm or 22 mm heating pipe.
Pros
Four PE inserts for air-conditioning copper at £24.80
UK reviews describe split-system bends
4.2 from 12 amazon.co.uk reviews
Internal support where a lever arm will not fit in a void
Cons
Four diameters are not named, and the photo is only a small thumbnail
A strip stretched on first use and was then the wrong size
The no-deformation claim conflicts with the stretch reviews
Not a 15 mm or 22 mm heating lever
Best for: You already know the air-conditioning tube diameter and want an internal plastic support, not a former.
Less suitable: 15 mm or 22 mm heating copper, a daily install, or any job where the strip size is still a guess.
The Hocomay 3-in-1 is listed at £37.99 and 1.2 kg, with a claimed bend from 0° to 180° and angle marks that name 90° and 135° as examples. The title says 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch, and a later bullet says 6 mm, 10 mm and 12 mm for copper, aluminium, brass, and zinc. Those are not the same sizes. Across 2 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.0, and the stored reviews include one UK review, from 20 September 2026. That reviewer used it on split air-conditioning bends with silicone inner tubes, and on PC hard tubing, and called it bulky in tight spaces. Stainless is asked on the listing and not claimed. With two reviews and two size lists, you measure the former before you treat either bullet as the one you bought.
Pros
Claimed marks, with 90° and 135° named as examples
0° to 180° stated on the listing
One UK review used it on split air-conditioning bends
Cons
Inch sizes and 6, 10 and 12 mm are both printed, and they differ
Only two reviews, one of them a UK text
Called bulky in tight spaces
Stainless is asked and not answered
Best for: You can measure the grooves and you are bending the soft tube those grooves actually fit.
Less suitable: Anyone who needs one trustworthy size list, or 15 mm and 22 mm heating tube.
The SENECESLI 3-in-1 is listed at £43.35 and 1.25 kg for soft copper and aluminium at 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch outside diameter, wall 0.7 mm to 1.5 mm, from 0° to 180°. Across 1 amazon.co.uk review the line is 4.0. That review is from Spain, dated 2 October 2025, and it says the tool bends once you learn the knack. There is no UK review text in the stored reviews. The spec line matches Goshyda and VBESTLIFE, and the price is the highest of those three, with the smallest sample. Nothing in the stored reviews confirms a UK brake-line bend or a metric groove. Skip it when you can buy a neighbour with a UK line, and do not buy it for 15 mm or 22 mm heating tube.
Pros
Inch sizes and 0.7–1.5 mm wall stated on soft copper and aluminium
0° to 180° claimed
Aluminium alloy body with a soft rubber handle, at 1.25 kg
Cons
One review, from Spain, and no UK review text
The review only says there is a knack to learn
Highest price of the three similar inch-size listings
Not for 15 mm or 22 mm tube
Best for: You already know you need those inch sizes and you treat the single review as a hint, not evidence.
Less suitable: A UK heating job, or any buyer who wants more than one written review.
The listing says soft copper and aluminium only, at 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch outside diameter, wall 0.7 mm to 1.5 mm.
What is it made of?
Aluminium alloy, with a soft rubber handle.
Is it easy to use?
The only review is from Spain. It says the tool bends once you learn the knack. There is no UK review text in the stored reviews.
How we compared
Shelf prices, stars and review notes are the amazon.co.uk snapshot stored for these eleven listings, dated 21 October 2026. There is no laboratory bend. The score is the star line mapped to 100: the amazon rating divided by 5, times 100, then rounded. A 4.7 becomes 94. A 5.0 becomes 100. Price is not inside the score. The top pick is the highest of those scores among listings with at least 100 reviews, so a 5.0 from one review cannot take the badge. Cuts stay in the written assessment, not as a second score: a size conflict, a missing wall or former radius, no angle marks where reviewers looked for them, a review sample under 10, a snap or a crease, and an insert whose diameters are not named.
1
Star line
100%
The published score is only the amazon.co.uk star line mapped to 100. A 4.7 becomes 94 and a 5.0 becomes 100. Price is not inside the score. The top pick is the highest score among listings with at least 100 reviews. A single five-star review stays at 100 and does not take that badge.

Pipe bender buying guide
You are choosing a hand tool that curves tube, and the eleven amazon.co.uk listings are not one family. Two are levers that claim 15 mm and 22 mm copper. Several are crossbows for soft 6–10 mm tube or for 1/4 to 1/2 inch tube. One is a ratchet kit in inch sizes. One is four plastic strips for air-conditioning copper. Shelf prices on the 21 October 2026 capture run from about £9.99 to about £89.99. The top pick is the lever with both heating sizes and at least 100 reviews.
What is a pipe bender?
A pipe bender here is a hand tool that curves tube. The set mixes three families, and star ratings are not comparable across them. A lever has two arms, one former per size, a guide and a stop. It needs room, and it is what makes 22 mm practical. A crossbow has fixed grooves and no internal support. Maker guidance on soft copper says that shape is for soft annealed tube only. An internal spring suits 15 mm or 22 mm in a tight spot. An external spring suits about 6–10 mm.
Best for
15 mm or 22 mm copper on a small heating or water job
Soft 6–10 mm tube, a brake line, or an air-conditioning insert
Not ideal for
Domestic gas fittings, or refrigerant pipe without the right qualification
Hard tube, 28 mm copper, or a 22 mm bend with no room for the arms
Mistakes to avoid
1
Ranking stars across diameters
A 5.0 from one review is not a better 15 mm and 22 mm bender than 4.7 from 243. The small-tube tools and the levers are different jobs. Price is not inside the score.
2
Treating inch and metric as one groove
10 mm is not 3/8 inch. A title that prints both, or a bullet that adds 6, 10 and 12 mm beside inch sizes, is a conflict. Seat an offcut in the groove before you trust it.
3
Straightening a kink
Do not tug a bad bend straight. A 22 mm spring is a poor main tool for that size. Cut out a kink you cannot remake. Gas and refrigerant pipe are not a DIY bend.
What to weigh up
Outside diameter and temper
High
Outside diameter and temper come before the brand. Domestic copper to BS EN 1057 is half-hard R250 in straight lengths, soft R220, or hard R290. Half-hard stick needs a former of that outside diameter. Soft tube can take a crossbow or a spring. Hard tube is a fitting, not a bend. A 6–10 mm crossbow does not bend 22 mm plumbing tube because the title says pipe bender. In this set the small crossbows name 6, 8 and 10 mm, or they name 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 inch.
Wall, units and marks
High
Wall and metal are the next line on the listing, not a guess from the title. Two small crossbows cap soft wall near 0.8 mm and say they are not for hard steel. The inch-size tools that print a wall use about 0.7–1.5 mm of soft copper and aluminium. One lever's bullets allow copper at 15–22 mm, and stainless and mild steel at 15 mm only. A data sheet that adds 22 mm stainless is not what those bullets promise. Metric and inch are not interchangeable. 10 mm is not 3/8 inch.
Which option suits you?
Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.
🏠
Copper at 15 mm or 22 mm
You bend 15 mm or 22 mm copper on a small heating or water job, and you stop at the gas pipe. The IRWIN Hilmor GLM is the top pick at about £78.98, with both formers claimed and 4.7 from 243 reviews. 22 mm takes a lot of force. It is the wrong tool for 6–10 mm tube.
You bend 15 mm and 22 mm copper now and then and you will mark the pipe. The Toolzone lever is best value at about £34.95, with 4.5 from 73 reviews. Reviews say there are no 45° or 90° marks. One buyer creased the copper on every bend.
You are on soft 6–10 mm tube, brake line or microbore, not on 22 mm heating stick. The Toolwiz crossbow is about £12.79 with 4.3 from 1,419 reviews, the largest sample here, and it is not for hard steel. Qualified air-conditioning work can also sit with a plastic insert, which is a different object.
Which pipe bender is the top pick in this comparison?
The top pick is the IRWIN Hilmor GLM at about £78.98. It scores 94, the highest score among these listings with at least 100 amazon.co.uk reviews: 4.7 from 243. Both 15 mm and 22 mm formers are claimed. This is not a laboratory bend. Reviews include a snap at a weld on 22 mm copper, a hook that can dent the tube, and no storage bag. A 5.0 from one review does not take the badge.
How much does a pipe bender cost on amazon.co.uk?
On the 21 October 2026 amazon.co.uk capture, small soft-tube tools start at about £9.99 and about £12.79. The two levers that claim 15 mm and 22 mm copper are about £34.95 and about £78.98. Inch-size crossbows in this set run from about £37.99 to about £43.35. The ratchet kit is about £89.99. A trade page for the same lever is not this shelf price. The cheapest row is a 6–10 mm tool, so it is not best value.
What should I check before I buy a pipe bender?
Outside diameter and temper come first. Half-hard domestic copper needs a former of that size. Soft tube can use a crossbow or a spring. Hard tube is a fitting. Read the wall and the metal on that listing. 10 mm is not 3/8 inch. A lever needs space. An insert needs named diameters. One review is not a better 15 mm and 22 mm tool than a large sample. Gas work is for a Gas Safe registered engineer.
Can a 6–10 mm crossbow bend 22 mm copper?
No. The 6–10 mm crossbows in this set are for soft thin-wall tube, often with a wall near 0.8 mm, and they exclude hard steel. 15 mm and 22 mm heating tube is the lever job, and only two listings here claim both formers. An internal spring is sometimes used in a tight space. A published plumbing-skills note treats a 22 mm spring bend as a task they would not attempt. Cut out a kink you cannot remake.
Are metric and inch pipe bender sizes the same groove?
No. 10 mm is not 3/8 inch, and 12 mm is not 1/2 inch. One listing prints inch sizes and 6, 10 and 12 mm in separate bullets. Those are not the same sizes. A review of a 6–10 mm tool said 10 mm tube sat nearly 0.5 mm out of an inch groove. Check the former on an offcut before you trust a title that states both. The listing you measure is the one you bought.
Who should bend gas pipe or refrigerant pipe?
Not you, unless you already hold the registration for that work. Domestic gas fittings need a Gas Safe registered engineer. The Health and Safety Executive points to that registration, and the 1998 regulations cover test and purge. Stationary air conditioning needs an F-gas qualification. A pipe bender does not make that work lawful. England and Wales water fittings must be suitable and installed in a workmanlike manner. Rain off a roof is a gutter comparison, not a tube bend.
What bend radius should I use on 15 mm copper?
Use the radius the tool states. A training rule of thumb puts the centre line at about four times the outside diameter: about 60 mm on 15 mm and about 88 mm on 22 mm. One lever in this set states about 45 mm and 75 mm. Those are not the same figure. Release the arm before you square the angle, and do not tug a bad bend straight. If you cannot remake a kink, cut it out.
Our verdict
The top pick is the IRWIN Hilmor GLM at about £78.98. It scores 94, the highest score among listings with at least 100 amazon.co.uk reviews: 4.7 from 243. Both 15 mm and 22 mm formers are claimed. This is not a laboratory bend. The assessment keeps the snap at a weld, the denting hook, and the missing bag. Best value is the Toolzone lever at about £34.95, score 90, 4.5 from 73, the cheaper of the two levers that claim 15 mm and 22 mm copper. Missing marks and one crease-every-bend review stay in the assessment. A 6–10 mm tool at a lower price is a different job, so it does not take best value. The ratchet kit scores 100 from one review and stays without a badge.
