The best pipe covers, compared.

Top pick: UK Radiators brass sleeves, pair Best value: Aomaic sleeves and collars, 10 of each – About £9.99 for ten sleeves and ten collars, score 84 and 4.1 from 449 reviews. The lowest saved price that includes both. Updated 23 October 2026.

A pipe cover hides pipework you can see. In a UK home that is usually the short tails under a radiator, or a plastic duct over an outdoor mini-split line set. It is not pipe insulation. Most radiator packs are split plastic for 15 mm outside diameter, the usual UK heating pipe to BS EN 1057, and they clip on after the radiator is fitted. A brass sleeve slides on before the valves. A collar only hides the hole at the floor or the wall. You match a cover by measuring the outside diameter, by checking whether the bag holds sleeves, collars, or both, and by reading whether the material line agrees with itself. Microbore at 8 mm or 10 mm, and a 22 mm pipe, will not take a 15 mm sleeve. Gas installation pipework and refrigerant lines are different jobs. If you cannot tell which pipe you have, leave it uncovered. Size, sleeve against collar, and clip against slide are set out in the [pipe cover buying guide](/hub/diy-supplies/pipe-cover/sub/pipe-cover-buying-guide).

The best pipe covers in detail

UK Radiators brass sleeves, pair

Rank 1

UK Radiators brass sleeves, pair

∼£12

Our view

Two 130 mm brushed antique brass sleeves that slide over 15 mm copper cost £11.90. The star line is 4.7 from 116 reviews, the highest stars in this set, and the score is 86. They go on before the valves and the radiator, and they do not wrap a pipe that is already connected. A bullet says they fit over 15 mm copper while the title also says 18 mm, so both lines need reading against a measurement. Valves are sold separately, and a five-year warranty is named in the listing text. Reviewers cut the sleeves, one left a 3–4 mm gap at the nut, and one review reports rust. This is the metal finish to buy when you are fitting the valve, and it cannot be clipped on once that valve is tight.

Pros

  • Brushed antique brass pair, 130 mm, at £11.90
  • 4.7 from 116 reviews, the highest stars in this set
  • Stated to slide over 15 mm copper
  • Five-year warranty named on the listing

Cons

  • Must be fitted before the valves, and it is not a clip
  • The title says 18 mm as well as the 15 mm bullet
  • One rust report, and a cut sleeve can leave a 3–4 mm gap at the nut
  • Valves are not in the box

Best for: You are fitting a radiator or towel rail and can slide the sleeves on before the valves.

Less suitable: The radiator is already on the wall, or you wanted a white clip-on pack.

Common questions

Can these clip over a radiator that is already fitted?

No. The listing says they slide over the pipe and must be installed before the valves and the radiator. They do not wrap the pipe.

What size pipe are they for?

A bullet says they fit over 15 mm copper. The title says 130 mm by 18 mm. This variant is the 130 mm pair.

Are the valves included?

No. The listing says valves are sold separately. The included-components line is a pair of pipe covers.

Blackspur 15 mm sleeves, 8 pack

Rank 2

Blackspur 15 mm sleeves, 8 pack

Our view

Eight white plastic sleeves for 15 mm pipes, about 19.5 cm long, cost £3.26 on the saved amazon.co.uk listing. Across 5,485 reviews the line is 4.4, the largest sample in this set for a stated 15 mm sleeve, which is why the score is 91 and why this row is the top pick. Reviewers cut them with scissors and snap them around straight pipes that are already in place. The same reviews call the plastic very thin and say it yellows with heat, including one report of sleeves turning a dark red. Floor collars shown in the picture are not in the bag, so the hole at the floor stays visible unless you buy rings separately. The connector row mentions a threaded fitting, which does not describe the way these sleeves clip. For a straight 15 mm heating tail already on the wall, this is the most-reviewed sleeve pack here, and it is the wrong bag if you needed collars or a thicker cover.

Pros

  • Eight sleeves stated for 15 mm pipes at £3.26
  • 4.4 from 5,485 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Reviewers cut with scissors and snap onto pipes already fitted
  • Enough sleeves for four radiators with two tails each

Cons

  • Floor collars in the picture are not in the bag
  • Very thin plastic that yellows with heat, including one dark-red report
  • Reviewers describe a snap that suits straight pipes

Best for: You want white sleeves for straight 15 mm tails that are already fitted, and you will buy floor collars separately.

Less suitable: You need rings in the same bag, a thick cover, or a tail that is not straight.

Common questions

Are floor collars included?

The bullets list eight sleeves for 15 mm pipes. Reviewers say the picture shows round floor pieces that are not in the bag.

Can they go on without taking the radiator off?

The bullets do not name a fit type. Reviewers describe unrolling the sleeve, cutting it with scissors, and letting it snap back around a straight pipe.

Do they stay white next to a hot pipe?

Several reviewers say the plastic is very thin and yellows with heat. One report says sleeves turned a dark red.

Greened House anthracite SnapFit

Rank 3

Greened House anthracite SnapFit

Our view

Two 200 mm anthracite covers for 15 mm pipe and two collars cost £5.65. The saved line is 4.4 from 1,140, and the score is 78 because that text is the same file as the chrome listing, including a comment about a chrome finish. Those two counts should not be added together. The covers are snap-on polypropylene, and the listing says to cut the cover and push it on. Reviewers say the sleeve sits on the collar rather than the collar wrapping the sleeve, and they name a junior hacksaw because the plastic scratches. The sleeve is stated for 15 mm while the collars are printed as 18 mm. The pack finishes one radiator in anthracite if you accept that collar geometry, and it is not a separate customer test of the chrome colour.

Pros

  • Two sleeves and two collars at £5.65
  • Snap-on polypropylene for a radiator or towel rail
  • Reviewers cut with a junior hacksaw and push the sleeve on
  • Anthracite when white plastic would stand out

Cons

  • The 1,140 reviews are the same saved text as the chrome listing
  • Sleeve stated for 15 mm while collars are printed as 18 mm
  • The sleeve sits on the collar rather than inside it
  • The plastic scratches, and reviewers do not use scissors

Best for: You want one anthracite radiator finished, sleeves and collars together, and you will check the 15 mm and 18 mm lines.

Less suitable: You need a review count that is separate from the chrome pack, or a collar that wraps the sleeve.

Common questions

Does the collar wrap around the sleeve?

Reviewers say no. The sleeve sits on the collar. The listing says the collar clips around the pipe to hide the hole.

Is this review count separate from the chrome pack?

In the saved files, no. Anthracite and chrome both show 4.4 from 1,140 and the same review text, including a comment about a chrome finish.

What do you cut them with?

The listing says cut the cover and push it on. Reviewers name a junior hacksaw rather than scissors, and say the plastic scratches.

Greened House chrome SnapFit

Rank 4

Greened House chrome SnapFit

Our view

Two 200 mm chrome-finish covers and two flanges cost £5.65. The colour field says chrome and the material line says polypropylene, so this is a chrome-colour plastic cover rather than a stated metal plating. The score is 78 on the same 4.4 from 1,140 as the anthracite file, and the saved image is a small thumbnail. The part number is WCOV152 WPCOL, and the included-components line names two pipe covers and two pipe flanges. Reviewers, in text also saved on the anthracite listing, say the sleeve sits on the collar. Number of packs is 2 and the unit-count field says 4, which matches two covers plus two flanges. It is the chrome-look option for one radiator if that shared review pool is enough, and it is neither brass nor its own customer sample.

Pros

  • Chrome-colour pair plus two flanges at £5.65
  • Part number WCOV152 WPCOL on the listing
  • Push-on, stated for a radiator or towel rail
  • Two covers and two flanges named in the included line

Cons

  • Polypropylene with a chrome colour, not stated metal
  • Same saved 1,140-review text as the anthracite listing
  • The sleeve sits on the collar
  • The saved image is a small thumbnail

Best for: You want a chrome look on one radiator’s tails and you do not need a brass sleeve.

Less suitable: You want metal, a review sample of its own, or a collar that surrounds the sleeve.

Common questions

What finish is this?

The colour field says chrome. The material line says polypropylene, so this is a chrome-colour plastic cover, not a stated metal plating.

Does the collar surround the sleeve?

Reviewers, in text also saved on the anthracite listing, say the sleeve sits on the collar rather than the collar wrapping the sleeve.

How many pieces are in the pack?

The included-components line says two pipe covers and two pipe flanges. Number of packs is 2 and the unit-count field says 4.

Karrma 15 mm sleeves, 8 pack

Rank 5

Karrma 15 mm sleeves, 8 pack

Our view

Eight white sleeves, with 15 mm in the title, are £3.99. Across 743 reviews the line is 4.4, a large sample, and the score is 76 because the listing does not agree with itself. The material field says plastic while the bullets say both PVC and brass, so this row cannot be read as a metal sleeve. Reviewers say the plastic can be see-through, so paint marks on the copper still show, and that it can yellow or lose shape when hot. One bullet says the fit takes a moment and another says to take the radiator pipe apart. Reviewers describe cutting with scissors and pushing the sleeve on. It is a cheap white eight-pack if you treat it as plastic and check the live page, and it stays off the shortlist while PVC and brass are both printed.

Pros

  • Title states eight white sleeves for 15 mm at £3.99
  • 4.4 from 743 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Reviewers cut with scissors and push the sleeve on

Cons

  • Material field says plastic while bullets say PVC and brass
  • Can look see-through, and can yellow or lose shape when hot
  • Fit text conflicts: a moment’s fit against dismantling the pipe
  • Collars are not stated in the comparison fields

Best for: You want another white eight-pack of plastic sleeves and will ignore the brass wording on the bullets.

Less suitable: You need brass, an opaque cover, or a listing whose material line agrees with itself.

Common questions

Are these brass or plastic?

The material field says plastic. One bullet says polyvinyl chloride and another says brass. The listing does not resolve that.

Do they hide the colour of the pipe?

One reviewer says the plastic is not opaque, so paint marks on the copper still show. Others say they covered old painted pipes well.

Can they be fitted without dismantling the pipe?

One bullet says the fit takes a moment. Another says to disassemble the radiator pipe. Reviewers describe cutting and pushing the sleeve on.

ROHMERIQUE white collars, 4 pack

Rank 6

ROHMERIQUE white collars, 4 pack

Our view

Four white polypropylene collars, with 15 mm in the title, cost £3.98. The dimensions are 47 × 14 × 14 mm and the pack weighs 20 g, so these are rings rather than 200 mm sleeves, and the score is 72 for that reason. The line is 4.3 from 73 reviews. The listing says to wrap and tilt them, with no tools. Reviewers say the clip is fiddly, may not close, and may not fasten if skirting sits behind the pipe, and one buyer cut burrs off first. They use the rings to hide the hole where a pipe meets tiles or a radiator. Buy them when the copper is already covered or you only care about the hole, and leave them if you thought you were ordering sleeves.

Pros

  • Four snap-on collars at £3.98
  • Title says 15 mm
  • 4.3 from 73 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Wrap-around fit, with no tools named on the listing

Cons

  • At 47 × 14 × 14 mm and 20 g, these are rings rather than long sleeves
  • The clip is fiddly and may not close against skirting
  • Burrs are reported, and one buyer trimmed them first

Best for: You only need to hide the hole at the floor, the tiles, or the radiator on a 15 mm pipe.

Less suitable: You need a sleeve along the tail, or a clip that closes against tight skirting.

Common questions

Do they clip on easily?

The listing says wrap and tilt, with no tools. Reviewers say the clip is fiddly, may not close, and may not fasten if skirting sits behind the pipe. One buyer cut burrs off first.

What are they for?

Reviewers use them to hide the hole where a pipe meets tiles or a radiator. The title says 15 mm pipe collars.

LyPrem line set cover

Rank 7

LyPrem line set cover

∼£66

Our view

This white PVC and ABS duct kit for a mini-split line set has 25 ft and 3 inches in the title and costs £65.99. The dimensions row is 7.5 m by 0.07 m and the weight is 7.08 kg. 7.5 m is about 24.6 ft, so the title and the dimensions row are the same order of length, and the score is 70. The UK listing shows 4.3 from 20 reviews, while the seven saved review texts are from Germany and the United States. The kit includes five straights, one flexible piece, four couplings, a wall cover, an end cap, two elbows, and screws. One saved review wanted longer screws than the kit supplied, and one said the duct did not conceal the lines. It is the only outdoor duct in this set. It does not cover a 15 mm radiator tail, and it does not replace insulation or an F-gas qualification.

Pros

  • Outdoor line-set kit at £65.99, stated for an existing installation
  • Five straights, a flexible piece, couplings, elbows, a wall cover, and screws
  • 7.5 m in the dimensions row, in the same order as the title’s 25 ft
  • 4.3 from 20 on the UK listing

Cons

  • Saved written reviews are from Germany and the United States
  • A line-set duct about 3 inches wide, not a 15 mm radiator sleeve
  • Screw length and a failure to conceal the lines both appear in the saved reviews
  • Leaves insulation and any F-gas work untouched

Best for: You want a decorative duct over a mini-split line set that is already insulated and connected.

Less suitable: You are covering 15 mm radiator tails, or the refrigerant pipes still need connecting.

Common questions

Is this a radiator pipe cover?

No. It is a duct kit for mini-split or heat-pump refrigerant lines. The title says 25 ft and 3 inches wide.

What is in the kit?

Five straight pieces, one flexible duct, four couplings, a wall cover, a reducer end cap, a flat 90 degree elbow, a 90 degree elbow, and screws.

Aomaic sleeves and collars, 10 of each

Rank 8

Aomaic sleeves and collars, 10 of each

∼£10

Our view

Ten white PVC sleeves, 200 mm long for 15 mm pipe, come with ten collars at £9.99. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.1 from 449 reviews, below the sleeve-only packs, and the score is 84 because this is the lowest saved price that includes both sleeves and collars. The listing says the collars snap on and the pipes do not have to come off, and that the sleeves are cut with scissors. Reviewers repeatedly say the two parts are not the same white, with collars described as off-white or yellowish. The dimensions row prints 1 × 1 mm, which conflicts with the 200 mm sleeve length, so the length bullet is the figure to use. Collar inner diameter is stated as 15 mm and the outer diameter as 55 mm. It is the best-value pack in this set when the tails and the holes both need covering, and a poor match if the two whites must look the same in daylight.

Pros

  • Ten 200 mm sleeves and ten collars at £9.99
  • Snap-on, and the listing says the pipes stay in place
  • Collar stated as 15 mm inside and 55 mm outside
  • 4.1 from 449 reviews on a combined pack

Cons

  • Reviewers say the collars look yellower than the sleeves
  • Stars sit below the sleeve-only eight-packs
  • The dimensions row of 1 × 1 mm conflicts with the 200 mm length

Best for: You want sleeves and collars in one bag for 15 mm tails and can accept a colour mismatch.

Less suitable: You need the sleeves and collars to match, or you only wanted the cheapest sleeves.

Do the sleeves and collars match?

Reviewers repeatedly say they are not the same white. Collars are described as off-white or yellowish.

FortWeal 16 mm collars, 10 pack

Rank 9

FortWeal 16 mm collars, 10 pack

Our view

Ten black click-on collars stated for 16 mm outside diameter cost £5.49. The saved listing has no star line, so the score stays at 40 and this pack cannot take a badge. They are decorative rings in PP plastic that click around a pipe without disconnecting it, and the included-components field says NO. The listing does not say 15 mm, so a standard UK radiator tail may be the wrong diameter. The pack weighs 38 g and the dimensions are 11 × 18 × 0.8 cm, which is a bag of rings rather than sleeves. There is no review text to show how the clip behaves against skirting. Keep it when you have measured 16 mm outside diameter and you only need the hole covered.

Pros

  • Ten black collars at £5.49
  • Click fit without disconnecting the pipe
  • Stated for 16 mm outside diameter
  • PP plastic, with the pack at 38 g

Cons

  • No customer-rating line and no review text
  • Not stated for 15 mm copper
  • Collars only, and the included-components field says NO
  • No saved comment on how the clip sits against skirting

Best for: You have measured a 16 mm outside diameter and you only need black rings over the holes.

Less suitable: You have 15 mm radiator tails, or you need sleeves and a review sample.

Cordial Mart adjustable collars, 6 pack

Rank 10

Cordial Mart adjustable collars, 6 pack

Our view

Six black collars stated to adjust from 14 mm to 29 mm cost £6.99. There is no star line in the saved listing, so the score is 40 and there is no badge. The listing describes a split collar with a locking buckle, with no tools and no adhesive, and it names radiator pipes, cold-water pipes, and bathroom basin pipes. No sleeve length is given, so copper along the tail stays visible. Weight is absent from the file, and there is no review text. You are buying the stated range on its own. It is a possible collar when your outside diameter sits between 14 mm and 29 mm and you can accept zero ratings, and it leaves the length of the tail uncovered.

Pros

  • Six collars at £6.99 with a stated 14–29 mm range
  • Split collar and locking buckle, with no tools named
  • Named for radiator, cold-water, and basin pipes

Cons

  • No star line and no review text
  • Collars only, with no sleeve length
  • Weight is not stated
  • The range is a listing claim, with no saved fit report

Best for: You need black rings for a pipe you have measured between 14 mm and 29 mm, and you can accept a listing with no reviews.

Less suitable: You want a scored 15 mm sleeve, or a cover along the whole tail.

Common questions

What pipe sizes do they claim?

The listing says an external diameter of 14 to 29 mm, and names radiator pipes, cold-water pipes and bathroom basin pipes.

Do they cover the whole tail?

No. They are collars for the gap where the pipe meets a wall or a fitting. No sleeve length is given.

Is there a star rating?

Not in the saved file. There is no review text either.

How we compared

Shelf prices, stars and review notes are the amazon.co.uk snapshot already stored for these ten listings. Scores run from 0 to 100. This is not a lab test, not a UK market ranking, and not a measure of heat loss. Review evidence is 45 points, fit and pack contents 35, and price inside this set 20, only after the contents are clear. A listing with no star line stays at 40 and takes no badge. The top pick is the stated 15 mm sleeve pack with the largest saved review count. Best value is the lowest saved price that includes both sleeves and collars.

1

Review evidence

45%

Stars and review count on the saved listing. A stated 15 mm sleeve with thousands of reviews ranks above a collar with no star line. A listing with no star line stays at 40 and cannot take a badge. One shared review pool is not counted twice. Written reviews that are not from the UK are not British experience.

2

Fit and pack contents

35%

Whether the bag matches the job: sleeves, collars, or both, and whether the pipe can stay connected. Slide-on brass can score well on stars and still be the wrong retrofit. Conflicts take points off when the material lines disagree, a photo shows parts the bag does not include, or two colours share one review file.

3

Price inside this set

20%

Price against what is actually in the pack, and only after the contents are clear. The lowest saved price that includes both sleeves and collars is the best-value row.

Pipe cover buying guide

You are choosing a cover for pipework you can see, not insulation and not a roof channel. The ten amazon.co.uk listings in this set are not the same object: clip-on sleeves, collars, one brass pair, and one outdoor line-set duct. Saved shelf prices run from about £3.26 to about £65.99. The top pick is the Blackspur eight-pack when the job is straight 15 mm tails already on the wall and you will buy floor collars separately.

What is a pipe cover?

A pipe cover hides pipework you can see. On a UK heating system that is usually the short tails under a radiator. The other object sold under the same words is a plastic duct over an outdoor mini-split line set. Neither is pipe insulation. A cover in this set is not claimed to save gas or to improve radiator output. Most radiator packs here are split plastic for 15 mm outside diameter, the usual UK heating size. Wednesbury lists 15 mm copper tube to BS EN 1057.

Best for

  • Bare 15 mm tails under radiators that are already on the wall
  • A new radiator fit, where a brass sleeve can slide on before the valves

Not ideal for

  • A pipe you cannot identify, including one that might be gas
  • Refrigerant lines that still need connecting, or a cover you expect to insulate

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Buying 15 mm without measuring

Microbore at 8 mm or 10 mm, and sometimes 22 mm, will not suit a 15 mm sleeve. A collar stated as 16 mm is not a 15 mm sleeve. Measure the outside diameter before you order.

  2. 2

    Collars when you needed sleeves

Rings hide the hole at the floor or the wall. They do not cover the copper along the tail. A pack at 47 × 14 × 14 mm is not a 200 mm sleeve.

  3. 3

    Brass past a fitted valve

The brass pair slides on before the valves. It does not wrap a pipe that is already connected. Forcing it past a tight valve is the wrong job.

What to weigh up

Size and what is in the bag

High

Identify the pipe before you measure it. Radiator tails on a wet system are water. Gas installation pipework and refrigerant lines are different jobs. If you cannot tell, do not cover the pipe. Then measure the outside diameter. 15 mm is the common UK radiator circuit, listed by B&Q as the usual size and by Wednesbury as 15 mm copper tube to BS EN 1057. Trade Radiators notes that 8 mm, 10 mm and 22 mm exist. Those will not suit a 15 mm sleeve.

Clip-on, finish and the pipe itself

High

Choose clip-on or slide-on. Split PVC or polypropylene fits around a pipe that is already connected. The brass pair in this set must go on before the valves, and it does not wrap a pipe that is already joined. Match the finish, and treat chrome on plastic as a colour claim, not a plating specification. Check the sleeve and the collar together in daylight. On the combined white pack, reviewers say the collars look yellower than the sleeves.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Tails already on the wall

You want white sleeves for straight 15 mm tails that are already fitted, and you will buy floor collars separately. Blackspur is the top pick at about £3.26, eight sleeves, 4.4 from 5,485 reviews. The plastic is very thin and yellows with heat. It is the wrong bag if you needed rings in the same pack.

Valves not on yet

You are fitting a radiator or towel rail and can slide sleeves on before the valves. The UK Radiators brushed antique brass pair is about £11.90, 130 mm, 4.7 from 116 reviews. It does not clip over a pipe that is already connected. Valves are not in the box.

Line set already connected

You want a decorative duct over a mini-split line set that is already insulated and connected. LyPrem is about £65.99, with 25 ft in the title and 4.3 from 20 on the UK listing. The saved written reviews are not from the UK. It does not cover a 15 mm radiator tail, and it is not an F-gas qualification.

Common questions about pipe covers

Which pipe cover is the top pick in this comparison?
The top pick is the Blackspur 15 mm sleeves, eight pack, at about £3.26. It scores 91, the highest here, because the saved amazon.co.uk listing shows 4.4 from 5,485 reviews, the largest sample in this set for a stated 15 mm sleeve. It is not a lab test. Reviewers cut the sleeves with scissors and snap them around straight pipes. They also call the plastic very thin and say it yellows with heat. Floor collars shown in the picture are not in the bag.
How much does a pipe cover cost on amazon.co.uk?
On the stored amazon.co.uk prices, collar packs sit about £3.98 to £6.99. Blackspur’s eight-pack is about £3.26 and Karrma’s is about £3.99. Greened House pairs are about £5.65. The brass pair is about £11.90. Aomaic is about £9.99, the lowest saved price that includes both sleeves and collars. The LyPrem kit is about £65.99. FortWeal at about £5.49 and Cordial Mart at about £6.99 have no star line. These figures are for this set, not a market average.
What should I check before I buy a pipe cover?
Identify the pipe first. A radiator tail on a wet system is water. Gas installation pipework and refrigerant lines are different jobs, and if you cannot tell, do not cover the pipe. Measure the outside diameter. 15 mm is the common UK radiator size to BS EN 1057. Microbore at 8 mm or 10 mm, and sometimes 22 mm, will not suit a 15 mm sleeve. Then choose sleeve, collar, or both. Rain off a roof is a different product, set out in the gutter comparison.
Should I buy a sleeve, a collar, or both?
One radiator usually shows two tails. Sleeves without collars leave the hole at the floor bare. Collars without sleeves leave the copper bare. A collar pack such as the ROHMERIQUE rings, at 47 × 14 × 14 mm, is not a 200 mm sleeve. FortWeal is stated for 16 mm outside diameter, not 15 mm. Cordial Mart claims an adjustable 14–29 mm collar and gives no sleeve length. Buy both parts when the tails and the holes both need covering.
Can I fit a pipe cover without removing the radiator?
Split PVC or polypropylene clips around a pipe that is already connected. Reviewers of the white sleeve packs describe cutting with scissors and letting the sleeve snap back. The UK Radiators brass pair does not wrap the pipe. It slides on, and the listing says it must be installed before the valves and the radiator. Forcing it past a fitted valve is the wrong job. Cut and clip for a split sleeve, and the brass exception, are in how to fit a pipe cover.
Does a pipe cover insulate, or can it box in a gas pipe?
No cover in this set is insulation, and none is claimed to save gas or improve output. A clip-on sleeve on a heating tail is not permission to box in a gas pipe. In England, Wales and Scotland, regulation 19 of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 requires ventilation where gas installation pipework runs in a shaft, duct or void, unless the pipe is in a ventilated duct. Northern Ireland’s gas rules are not quoted here. Call a Gas Safe registered engineer if the pipe might be gas.
Is a line-set cover the same as a radiator pipe cover?
No. LyPrem is a white PVC and ABS duct for a mini-split line set, not a 15 mm radiator sleeve. The title says 25 ft and 3 inches, and the dimensions row is 7.5 m by 0.07 m. The UK listing shows 4.3 from 20 reviews. The saved written reviews are from Germany and the United States, so they are not British experience. Leave the insulation on the copper. Clipping a cover over a finished line set is not an F-gas qualification.

Our verdict

The top pick is the Blackspur 15 mm sleeves, 8 pack, at about £3.26. It scores 91, the highest in this set: eight white plastic sleeves stated for 15 mm, 4.4 from 5,485 amazon.co.uk reviews, the largest sample here for that sleeve. It is not a lab test. Reviewers say the plastic is very thin and yellows with heat, and the floor collars in the picture are not in the bag. Best value is the Aomaic pack at about £9.99, score 84, ten 200 mm sleeves and ten collars, 4.1 from 449 reviews. It is the lowest saved price that includes both parts. Reviewers say the collars look yellower than the sleeves. The UK Radiators brass pair scores 86, above Aomaic, and still takes no badge: it slides on before the valves, so a high star line is the wrong retrofit once the radiator is fitted.
