Top pick: FloPlast half-shed pack, 2 m – Highest score at 75: the only clipped 76 mm kit, 4.4 from 160 reviews, at about £46.30. Not a lab test. Best value: Bocguy adhesive J, 5 m – About £24.98 for a 5 m title length, score 74 and 4.2 from 268 reviews. A door or van drip, not a shed roof. Updated 22 October 2026.
A gutter is the channel that takes rain off a roof edge, or a short strip sold to turn water away from a door, a van or a shed opening. You buy one in the UK when a roof, a shed or a doorway needs a defined path for rain. Houses usually use clipped uPVC: a common house size is 112 mm half round with a downpipe around 68 mm. A small shed is often a mini profile, about 76 mm of gutter and a 50 mm pipe. A vehicle or a door head is a self-adhesive J. You separate them by profile, size, fixing and outfall. Half round, square, ogee and mini do not share fittings. On a clipped run, check the fall, the bracket spacing and a lubricated seal. An adhesive strip needs a clean, dry face. Approved Document H puts a soakaway or other infiltration first, then a watercourse, then a sewer. Do not rest a ladder on a plastic gutter. Profile and pipe size are set out in the [gutter buying guide](/hub/diy-supplies/gutter/sub/gutter-buying-guide).

The FloPlast listing at £46.30 is titled as a 76 mm gutter with 50 mm downpipes and 2 m of run, the size UK makers use on one side of a small shed rather than a house eaves. Across 160 amazon.co.uk reviews it sits at 4.4, and the UK notes in this file describe a summerhouse, a 6×6 shed, a 6×4 shed, a chicken run, and a gazebo, several of them feeding a water butt. Reviewers keep saying the screws are not in the pack, and more than one wanted extra clips. One review says it is not a porch kit, because there is only one stop end and one outlet, and another says 1 m lengths arrived bent. The colour cell reads X-gutter Pack-x, so you cannot take black or grey from this page, and the piece list is not in the capture. The package line is 100.5 × 25 × 10 cm at 1.86 kg. It is the only clipped kit in this three-row table, which is why it is the top pick for one side of a low shed, while a two-slope porch or a 112 mm house run is the wrong job.
Pros
Title states a 76 mm gutter and 50 mm downpipes
4.4 from 160 amazon.co.uk reviews
UK reviews describe sheds, a summerhouse, and a water butt
The only clipped kit in this three-listing set
£46.30 on this capture
Cons
UK reviews say the screws are not in the pack
One stop end and one outlet, so a two-slope porch fails
Piece list and colour are not stated on this capture
One review says 1 m lengths arrived bent
Best for: You are guttering one side of a small shed or summerhouse into a water butt, and you will buy the screws yourself.
Less suitable: A house eaves, a two-slope porch, or an order that needs a stated colour and a printed piece list first.
No. The capture does not list fixings. More than one UK review says you have to buy the screws yourself. The title says a 76 mm gutter, 50 mm downpipes, and 2 m.
What did UK reviews use it on?
A summerhouse, a 6×6 shed, a 6×4 shed, a chicken run, and a gazebo. One review says it is not a porch kit, because there is only one stop end and one outlet. Another says 1 m lengths arrived bent.
Is the colour stated?
The colour field reads X-gutter Pack-x. That is not a colour. The material is not named in the capture. The star line is 4.4 from 160 reviews.
Bocguy’s black self-adhesive J is listed at £24.98 with 5 m in the title, and 268 amazon.co.uk reviews put it at 4.2, the largest sample in this set. UK notes mostly describe a strip stuck above a van, motorhome, or shed door, and many say it stayed put, including one owner who added more adhesive on a caravan underside. The fitting line is to cut to length, wipe with alcohol and water mixed 1:1, then peel and stick, and no screws are named. Two UK reviews say it fell off the first time it rained, and another says the strip is too soft to stay straight. The dimensions line prints 10 × 8 × 0.1 cm against a 1.24 kg weight and a 5 m title, and the model line includes the word Schwarz, so length and colour are not a clean pair. There is no millimetre section in the capture. It is the best value here when the job is a drip over a door or a van panel, and a poor stand-in for a 76 mm clipped gutter.
Pros
4.2 from 268 amazon.co.uk reviews
£24.98 for a title length of 5 m
UK reviews describe vans, motorhomes, and shed doors
The listing names a 1:1 alcohol and water clean before you stick it
The bullet says PVC
Cons
Two UK reviews say it fell off in the first rain
One review says it is too soft to stay straight
Dimensions of 10 × 8 × 0.1 cm conflict with a 5 m title
No millimetre section is printed
Best for: A drip above a van, motorhome, or shed door, if you accept that tape is the only fixing.
Less suitable: A house eaves, a shed roof that needs a downpipe, or an order that needs a stated channel size first.
The title says 5 m. The dimensions line says 10 × 8 × 0.1 cm. The weight is 1.24 kg. Those figures are not the same object. The model line also reads 5M, Schwarz.
How does the listing say you fit it?
Cut to length, clean a dry surface with alcohol and water mixed 1:1, then peel the backing and stick. No screws are named. One UK review added more adhesive on a caravan underside.
What did UK reviews say about rain?
Many describe it stuck above a van, motorhome, or shed door. Two say it fell off the first time it rained. One says it is too soft to stay straight. The star line is 4.2 from 268 reviews.
Funnytek lists a 5 m black TPE J at £17.99, with a 14 × 26 mm section in the bullet and a package of 25 × 25 × 8 cm at 554 g. The star line is 3.1 from 26 reviews, a thin sample next to the 268 reviews on the other adhesive row. Four UK reviews in the file describe tape that is not sticky, a strip that arrived bent and was returned, backing that was already exposed, and peel after a heat gun. The bullet names trucks, RVs, boats, vans, and door bottoms, which is a drip job rather than a roof edge. A UK note on a 10 m variant, priced at £28.19 in that note, says the channel was too small for a sloped gazebo. No screws are named, and there is no downpipe. It is the cheaper adhesive row in this set, and that review sample is why it is not the best value beside the £24.98 strip.
Pros
Section printed as 14 × 26 mm
Title states TPE and a 5 m length
£17.99, the lowest price in this set
Package weight of 554 g fits a coiled strip
Cons
3.1 from only 26 reviews
Four UK reviews describe weak tape, curl, or exposed backing
A 10 m note says the channel was too small for a sloped gazebo
No downpipe and no clip fittings
Best for: A short door or van drip where you have measured a 14 × 26 mm channel and you accept a small review count.
Less suitable: Anyone who wants the larger UK sample, a shed roof, or a gazebo that needs more than a drip.
The bullet prints 14 × 26 mm, also written as 0.55 × 1.02 in. The title says 5 m of black TPE. The package line is 25 × 25 × 8 cm and the weight is 554 g.
What did the UK reviews say about the tape?
Four UK reviews are in the file. They describe tape that is not sticky, a strip that arrived bent and was returned, backing already exposed, and peel after a heat gun. The star line is 3.1 from 26, which is the whole listing.
Where does the listing say it can go?
The bullet names trucks, RVs, boats, vans, and door bottoms. A UK note on a 10 m variant says the channel was too small for a sloped gazebo. It is not sold as a 76 mm clipped gutter.
How we compared
Shelf prices, stars and review notes are the amazon.co.uk snapshot already stored for these three listings, dated 21 October 2026. This is not a lab test of flow, joint seal or adhesive hold. Each score adds a star line, the size of the review sample, listing clarity and UK review notes. The highest score, 75, is the top pick. Best value is a separate award: the stronger review sample on a door or van drip, not the lowest price. Trade prices at Screwfix and JDP are not the amazon.co.uk price. Non-UK review text is not British opinion.
1
Star line
35%
The amazon.co.uk star line is multiplied by eight and rounded. A 4.4 becomes 35, a 4.2 becomes 34, and a 3.1 becomes 25. Stars are not the whole score.
2
Review sample
20%
The amazon.co.uk review count adds a sample mark: 20 from 200 reviews upward, 16 from 100 to 199, and 8 from 20 to 39. A thin sample cannot outrank a larger one on stars alone.
3
Listing clarity
30%
Clarity starts at 30 and loses marks for a missing piece list, a dimensions line that cannot be the stated length, no millimetre section, a colour cell that is not a colour, and material left unnamed.
4
UK review notes
15%
UK reviews that name a job and a fault start at 15. A handful of UK notes starts at 10. Repeated fitting faults, and tape that falls off, are deducted. Text from outside the UK is not British opinion.

Gutter buying guide
You are choosing a channel for a roof, a shed or a drip over a door. The three amazon.co.uk listings captured for this set are not the same object: a clipped 76 mm shed pack, and two self-adhesive J strips. Shelf prices run from about £17.99 to about £46.30. A house usually wants 112 mm half round and a downpipe around 68 mm, which is not what these rows are. The top pick is the FloPlast pack when the job is one side of a low shed and you will buy the screws.
What is a gutter?
A gutter here means the channel on a roof edge, or a shallow strip that throws a drip clear of a door. Clipped uPVC is half round, square, ogee or a deeper profile. Cast iron, and cast aluminium sold to match it, is the historic eaves. Bradford's rainwater guidance says replace that like for like, and treats plastic as the wrong material on a period front. BS EN 607:2023 covers solid-wall PVC-U eaves gutters, not foam. It sits with EN 12200-1 pipes and EN 1462 brackets.
Best for
One side of a small shed or summerhouse into a water butt
A drip above a van, motorhome or shed door
Not ideal for
A house eaves, or cast iron that should stay metal
A two-slope porch, or a gazebo that needs more than a drip
Mistakes to avoid
1
A J strip on a house eaves
The adhesive rows are a couple of centimetres deep. They are not 112 mm half round, and they have no downpipe. A house eaves needs the profile that is already on the fascia.
2
Mixing 76 mm with 112 mm
Mini fittings and domestic half round do not join. A 50 mm pipe is not a 68 mm pipe. Do not copy a 75 mm capacity figure onto 76 mm mini.
3
Assuming the screws are in the pack
UK reviews of the FloPlast row say you buy the screws. The maker's piece list is not in the amazon.co.uk capture. Tape on the adhesive rows is not a promise that it stays up in rain.
What to weigh up
Job, profile and pipe
High
The first check is the job. A roof needs a clipped gutter sized to that roof. A door or a van drip can be an adhesive strip. A blockage is not a new gutter. Profile is next, because half round, square, ogee and mini do not share fittings. A common house half round in the ranges cited here is 112 mm, with a downpipe around 68 mm. Mini is 76 mm gutter and a 50 mm pipe. Cast iron, and cast aluminium sold to match it, is the historic eaves.
Fall, fixing and outfall
High
On a clipped run, fall and brackets decide whether water reaches the outlet. Wavin's Osma manual from July 2024 recommends 1:600, which is 25 mm of fall in 15 m. Fall it the wrong way and the stop end holds water. Wickes caps FloPlast 112 mm fascia brackets at 1 m centres. Lubricate uPVC seals. UK reviews of the shed pack say the screws are not in the box, and one stop end with one outlet is not a two-slope porch.
Which option suits you?
Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.
🏠
One side of a small shed
You are guttering one side of a low shed or summerhouse into a water butt, and you will buy the screws. The FloPlast half-shed pack is the top pick at about £46.30, titled 76 mm gutter and 50 mm downpipes, with 4.4 from 160 reviews. It is not a two-slope porch and not a house eaves.
You want a strip over a van, motorhome or shed door, and you know tape can fail. Bocguy is best value at about £24.98, with 5 m in the title and 4.2 from 268 reviews. Two UK reviews say it fell off in the first rain. It is not a clipped shed roof.
You have measured a short door or van drip and a 14 × 26 mm channel is enough. Funnytek is about £17.99, with that section printed and 3.1 from 26 reviews. Four UK notes are about weak tape. It is the smaller sample, which is why it is not best value.
The top pick is the FloPlast half-shed pack at about £46.30. It scores 75, the highest here, on a title that states 76 mm gutter and 50 mm downpipes, with 4.4 from 160 amazon.co.uk reviews. It is the only clipped kit in this set, and it is not a lab test. UK reviews say the screws are not in the pack. The colour cell is not a colour. A two-slope porch or a house eaves is the wrong job.
How much does a gutter cost on amazon.co.uk?
On the stored amazon.co.uk capture, Funnytek is about £17.99 for a 5 m strip, Bocguy is about £24.98 for a 5 m strip, and the FloPlast pack is about £46.30. On 21 October 2026 the same described mini pack was about £41.99 at Screwfix and about £56.65 at JDP. Those trade prices are not the amazon.co.uk price. The cheaper strip is not the best value: Bocguy has 4.2 from 268 reviews, against 3.1 from 26.
What should I check before I buy a gutter?
Start with the job. A roof needs a clipped profile that matches that roof. A door or van drip can be an adhesive J. Half round, square, ogee and mini do not share fittings. House half round here is 112 mm with a downpipe around 68 mm. Mini is 76 mm with a 50 mm pipe. Check the fall, whether screws are named, and where the water will go. A leaf guard is covered under gutter protection.
Is a self-adhesive strip a gutter for a house?
No. The two adhesive rows are shallow J strips for a door, a van or a motorhome, not a house eaves. Bocguy does not print a millimetre section, and the dimensions line conflicts with a 5 m title. Funnytek prints 14 × 26 mm. UK reviews on both include tape that failed in rain or would not hold. A 112 mm house run, or cast iron that should be replaced like for like, is not in this set.
What fall should a clipped gutter have?
Wavin's Osma manual recommends a fall of 1:600, which is 25 mm in 15 m. Fall the wrong way and water sits at the stop end. Wickes caps FloPlast 112 mm fascia brackets at 1 m centres. Lubricate uPVC seals. The maker's mini list names two brackets for two 1 m lengths, but that list is not in the amazon.co.uk capture. Do not assume those pieces, or the screws, are in the FloPlast box.
Where should rainwater from a gutter go?
Approved Document H puts a soakaway or other infiltration first, then a watercourse, then a sewer. A water butt is re-use and sits outside that order, and it still needs an overflow. Where a separate surface-water sewer exists, rain should stay off the foul sewer. A gutter kit is not proof that the outfall complies. If the only route is the foul drain, ask before you connect it.
Can I rest a ladder on a plastic gutter?
No. Do not rest a ladder on a plastic gutter, and do not hang a ladder from one. HSE's ladder angle is about 1 in 4, and you do not stand on the top three rungs. About 30 minutes is its guide for light ladder work. At height, on a rotten fascia, on a listed building or on cast iron, stop and call a professional. This table is not a method for work at height.
Our verdict
The top pick is the FloPlast half-shed pack at about £46.30. It scores 75, the highest in this set: a title that states 76 mm gutter and 50 mm downpipes, 4.4 from 160 amazon.co.uk reviews, and the only clipped kit in the capture. It is not a lab test. The piece list is not in the capture, UK reviews say the screws are missing, and a two-slope porch or a house eaves is the wrong job. Best value is the Bocguy adhesive J at about £24.98, score 74, 4.2 from 268 reviews, for a door or van drip. Two UK reviews say that strip fell off in the first rain. Funnytek is about £17.99 with a score of 66 and 3.1 from 26, so the lower price is not the award.
Best overall
FloPlast half-shed pack, 2 m
Highest score at 75: the only clipped 76 mm kit, 4.4 from 160 reviews, at about £46.30. Not a lab test.
