The best gutter brushes, compared.
Top pick: Homion 4 m roll Best value: Homion 4 m roll – About £10.15 for one 4 m roll, 4.5 from 219 reviews, score 77. Nylon and polypropylene are both printed, and ties are extra. Updated October 2026.
A gutter brush for a UK house is usually a hedgehog roll: plastic bristles on a flexible metal core that sit in the eaves gutter so rain can pass and broad leaves stay where the wind can move them. A sectional cleaning pole is a different tool. You use it from the ground, then store it. Measure the inside width. A channel near 90 mm is the usual case for a brush near 100 mm. One roll is one length, not a whole house. Add ties where the tiles do not overhang. Width, length and ties are in the [gutter brush buying guide](/hub/diy-supplies/gutter-brush/sub/gutter-brush-buying-guide). Poles sold beside these rolls are often about 4 m to 4.4 m. Reviews often report flex, loose joints, or a miss on two storeys. Reach is covered in [cleaning a gutter from the ground](/hub/diy-supplies/gutter-brush/sub/gutter-brush-clean-from-the-ground). A brush can slow the flow the gutter was sized for. Mesh covers are a separate buy, in the [gutter protection comparison](/hub/diy-supplies/gutter-protection). Do not treat a fit line for asbestos cement as permission to disturb that roof.

Question 1 of 2
What do you want the brush to do?
The Homion one-roll listing is best value at about £10.15 for a hedgehog titled 4 m by 100 mm, with a listed weight of 990 g. Across 219 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.5, and the score is 77. That price, against a review count over 200, is why this row is best value, while the one-roll Optimal Products file still scores two points higher. The bullets name half-round, Deepflow, Classic and ogee at 100 mm, and they say polypropylene on stainless-steel wire SS304. The specification line says nylon, so the fibre is not one settled sentence. Included components say brush only, and reviews say it can lift unless you add ties.
Pros
Cons
Best for: You have measured an inside width near 100 mm and you want the lowest one-roll price that still has more than 200 reviews.
Less suitable: A buyer who needs one material named the same way in the bullets and the specification table.
Specifications
Common questions
What is it made of?
The specification table says nylon. The bullets say polypropylene bristles and stainless-steel wire SS304. Both lines are in the saved listing.
Does it include clips?
Included components say brush only. Reviews say it can lift unless you add cable ties or clips.
Which gutter profiles does the listing name?
The bullets name 100 mm gutters, including half-round, Deepflow, Classic and ogee. That is still not a substitute for your own inside measurement.
The Homion two-roll listing is about £18.90. The title says 100 mm by 4 m on each roll, quantity 2, under model PHM0707. The star line is 4.5 from 219 reviews, the same count as the one-roll Homion file, so it is not a second group of buyers. One review measured a roll 12 cm under 4 m, and the weight cell still prints 990 g, the same figure as the one-roll file. Nylon and polypropylene are both printed. Included components say brush only, and reviews say the roll rises unless you add ties. The score is 76. Buy the pair only when two measured runs need two rolls, and tape them.
Pros
Cons
Best for: Two measured runs, if you tape each roll before you cut the core.
Less suitable: An order that treats 990 g as the weight of both rolls.
Specifications
Common questions
How much length is in the title?
The title says 100 mm by 4 m on each roll, quantity 2. One review measured a roll 12 cm under 4 m. Check both rolls before you cut.
Why might it rise out of the gutter?
Reviews say it needs cable ties or gutter clips, which are not in the included components.
Is the printed weight for two rolls?
The listing prints 990 g, the same figure as the one-roll Homion file. Do not assume that is the two-roll weight.
The Optimal Products one-roll listing is the top pick. It is titled as one 4 m hedgehog at 100 mm, about £11.99, which is one eaves length rather than a house kit. Across 358 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.4, the largest count among the rolls here, and that sample plus the plain one-roll title is why the score is 79. The bullets say it suits most gutter types, and they also name iron and asbestos gutters. That is a fit line, not a reason to disturb an asbestos-cement roof. No clip is named, and reviews say buyers added clips because the brush can lift. Material is not printed. A review expected 8 m from a two-roll pack, so tape the roll before you cut it.
Pros
Cons
Best for: You want one 4 m hedgehog for a measured run near 100 mm, and you will buy clips if the tiles do not hold it.
Less suitable: A whole house, a listing that must name the fibre, or any roof that may be asbestos cement.
Specifications
Common questions
How long is this roll?
The title says one roll of 4 m, at 100 mm. A review in the saved listing expected 8 m from a two-roll pack. Measure the roll you receive before you cut it.
Are clips included?
No clip or cable tie is named. Reviews say buyers added clips because the brush can lift.
Does the listing say it fits plastic gutters?
The bullets say most gutter types, and also iron and asbestos gutters. They do not print a separate yes for PVC. The asbestos line is not permission to disturb cement sheets.
The Optimal Products two-roll listing is about £22.95. The title says both 4 m rolls and 8 m, at the same 100 mm as the one-roll file. The star line is 4.4 from 358 reviews, the same count as that one-roll listing, so it is not a separate sample. A verified review says the two rolls seemed to total about 4 m, which is why the score is 74 and this row is not the top pick. Clips are not in the box. Material is not named. The bullets again name most types, including iron and asbestos gutters. Pay this price only when you have measured a run that needs a second length, and tape both rolls.
Pros
Cons
Best for: You have taped two separate runs and you will check both rolls before you cut them.
Less suitable: Anyone treating the 8 m words on the title as the length already in the box.
Specifications
Common questions
Is this 8 metres?
The title says two rolls and 8 m. A verified review says the two rolls seemed to total about 4 m. Check the length before you fit it.
Are clips in the box?
No. Reviews describe buying clips because the fit was only roughly right.
Does it claim every gutter?
The bullets say most types, including iron and asbestos gutters. They do not say every gutter, and the asbestos line is not a reason to scrape cement sheets.
The ZYBUX listing is about £16.95 for one hedgehog titled 4 metres, at 4.4 from 248 amazon.co.uk reviews, and the score is 75. The bullets say polypropylene bristles on a stainless-steel core, and an internal range of 100 mm to 116 mm. Included components say stainless steel, which matches the core rather than a bag of clips. Reviews say clips were bought separately. One buyer used tie wraps after wind lifted the brush, and another says it came up 15 inches short of a 4 m gutter. That shortfall is one report, not a measured batch. Look here when your inside width sits toward 116 mm.
Pros
Cons
Best for: An inside width you have measured between 100 mm and 116 mm, if you will add ties on a windy run.
Less suitable: A standard run already covered by a cheaper 100 mm roll, or a house that needs more than 4 m without a second length.
Specifications
Common questions
What size gutter do the bullets name?
The bullets say internal diameters from 100 mm to 116 mm, and that the brush adapts to the gutter shape. Measure your channel before you order.
Are fixings included?
Included components say stainless steel, which matches the core. Reviews say clips were bought separately, and one buyer used tie wraps after wind lifted it.
Did anyone measure the 4 metre claim?
One review says the brush came up 15 inches short of a 4 m gutter. That is one report, not a batch measurement.
The Eidoct pole is about £25.39 for a titled 4 m kit with a brush, a rake and gloves, a listed weight of 1.41 kg, and a score of 41. The star line is 3.6 from 8 reviews. The saved listing holds three UK texts: one cleared moss, one said a modern house needed about 2 m more, and one on a bungalow moved only dry leaves. No gutter width is printed, and no degree range is printed for the angled pole. That is a bungalow tool if dry leaves are the job and the head enters the channel.
Pros
Cons
Best for: Dry leaves on a bungalow, after you have checked that 4 m reaches the gutter and the head fits.
Less suitable: A two-storey house, wet compacted silt, or a hedgehog you meant to leave in place.
Specifications
Common questions
What is the maximum reach on the listing?
The title says 4 m. One review says a modern house needed about 2 m more, or a ladder.
Can the angle be changed?
Included components list one adjustable-angle pole of 0.4 m. The listing does not print a degree range.
How many written reviews are in the listing?
The star line is 3.6 from 8. The saved listing has three UK review texts: one cleared moss, one wanted more length, and one on a bungalow moved only dry leaves.
The DYUEE kit at about £23.99 is a sectional cleaning pole, not a hedgehog you leave in the gutter, and the score is 49. The title says 4.4 m, with a listed weight of 1.38 kg. Across 86 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 3.2. Reviews often say that reach suits a bungalow or a low roof and misses a two-storey gutter. No brush width is printed in millimetres, and several reviews say the head is too big to enter the gutter. Reviews also say the screw joints unscrew and the rake can fall off. Use it only when you have measured a low eaves and you accept a wide head.
Pros
Cons
Best for: A bungalow or other low roof where you have checked that 4.4 m reaches and the head fits the channel.
Less suitable: A two-storey house, or anyone who wanted a brush that stays in the gutter.
Specifications
Common questions
How long is the kit?
The title says 4.4 m. The bullets list nine 0.4 m poles plus one 0.4 m angled pole. Reviews often say that is a bungalow or low roof, not a two-storey gutter.
Does the brush fit a standard gutter?
No width is printed in millimetres. Several reviews say the head is too big to enter the gutter.
Do the sections stay tight?
Reviews say screw joints unscrew in one direction, the rake can fall off, and some buyers taped the joints.
The CHAMSUREUK kit is about £25.79. The title says a 4 m brush and scoop set, while one bullet says 4.4 m. The star line is 3.2 from 11 reviews, and the score is 43. The bullets list a brush, a scoop, a shovel and gloves, and they claim a 180 degree connector. One review says the brush was too wide to fit, and reviews say it did not reach a two-storey gutter. The listed weight is 1.91 kg. The package dimensions are a carton size, not the extended pole. It is a low-roof kit only if the head happens to fit your gutter.
Pros
Cons
Best for: A low gutter you can already reach, if you accept 11 reviews and you check the head width first.
Less suitable: A two-storey eaves, or a buyer who needs the title and the bullets to state one length.
Specifications
Common questions
Does the file say 4 m or 4.4 m?
The title says 4 m. One bullet says 4.4 m. Reviews say it did not reach a two-storey gutter.
Will the brush bend into the gutter?
The bullets say the brush bends to the gutter shape. One review says it was too wide to fit.
Are gloves included?
Yes. The bullets list a pair of protective gloves, with a brush, a scoop and a shovel.
The HOVCEH kit is about £12.99. The title says 12.7 ft, about 3.9 m. The only amazon.co.uk review is 2.0, the score is 23, and that review says the pole broke the first time it was used. One bullet says stainless steel and another says aluminium, so the metal is not settled. The included-components field says no, while the bullets claim a brush and a leaf shovel. A 180 degree head is claimed. 12.7 ft is not a three-storey reach. It is the cheapest pole here and the weakest evidence.
Pros
Cons
Best for: Almost no one in this table. Only a buyer who has already accepted a single 2.0 review and a first-use failure.
Less suitable: Any two-storey or three-storey clean, and anyone who wants a second review before they pay.
Specifications
Common questions
Will it reach a three-storey roof?
The stated maximum is 12.7 ft, about 3.9 m. That is not a three-storey reach.
What did the only review say?
The single UK review, rated 2.0, says it broke the first time it was used. It does not say which part failed.
Is the pole aluminium or stainless steel?
One bullet says industrial-grade stainless steel. Another says aluminium segments. The listing does not settle it.
Shelf prices, stars and review notes are the amazon.co.uk snapshot of 21 October 2026 already stored for these nine listings: five hedgehog rolls and four cleaning poles. This is not a test of flow, bristle life, or how far a pole reaches. Each score is the star line times ten, plus a mark for the review count, plus listing fit. The highest score is the top pick. Best value is a different listing: the one-roll Homion file, about £10.15, score 77, against the top pick at 79. Two files that print the same star line are not added together.
Amazon star line
50%Stars times ten. A 4.4 becomes 44 and a 4.5 becomes 45. A 2.0 becomes 20. This is the amazon.co.uk line in the saved listing, not a laboratory score.

Listing fit
25%Starts at 14, then loses marks for an unnamed fibre, a disputed length, a missing width, joints that undo, or a reach reviews say misses a two-storey gutter. Clips missing from every hedgehog box do not separate those five scores.
You are choosing either a hedgehog roll that stays in the gutter or a pole you use from the ground. The nine amazon.co.uk listings captured on 21 October 2026 run from about £10.15 to about £25.79. Width, honest length and ties decide a roll. Ground-to-gutter height and head size decide a pole. The top pick is the Optimal Products one-roll file when you want the largest review sample on a plain 4 m title.
A gutter brush in this set is either a hedgehog roll you leave in the eaves gutter, or a sectional pole you use from the ground and then store. The roll is plastic bristles on a flexible metal core. Rain is meant to pass. Broad leaves are meant to stay where the wind can move them. The pole clears debris that is already there. The two jobs are not interchangeable. Fit starts with the inside width.
A 100 mm title is not your measurement. Maker guidance uses about 90 mm inside for a 100 mm brush, with only a few millimetres of gap at each side. None of these rolls is 150 mm.
One 4 m roll is one run. Tape it before you cut. A verified review says two Optimal Products rolls sold as 8 m seemed to total about 4 m. Do not treat the title as a measured length.
Reviews of these poles report flex, joints that undo, heads that are too wide, and a reach that misses a two-storey gutter. Do not rest a ladder on a plastic gutter. HSE says work from the ground where you reasonably can.
The score starts with the job the listing can actually do. A hedgehog roll stays in the gutter. A pole cleans what is already there and is then stored. Width is the next check. Measure the inside of the channel. Maker guidance uses a 90 mm gutter with a 100 mm brush and no more than about 5 mm of gap at each side. ZYBUX bullets say 100 mm to 116 mm internal. Homion names 100 mm half-round, Deepflow, Classic and ogee. None of these rolls is 150 mm.
Reviews are not added twice when two pack sizes print the same star line. Optimal Products one-roll and two-roll both show 4.4 from 358. Homion one-roll and two-roll both show 4.5 from 219. Stars are multiplied by ten, then a sample mark is added: 25 from 300 reviews upward, 20 from 200 to 299, 12 from 50 to 99, 6 from 10 to 49, 3 from 2 to 9, and 0 from a single review.
Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.
You have a normal PVC eaves gutter, broad leaves, and you can measure. The Optimal Products one-roll is the top pick at about £11.99, 4.4 from 358 reviews, score 79. Clips are not in the box. Material is not printed. Skip it for a whole house or a roof that may be asbestos cement.
You want one 4 m roll near 100 mm at the lowest price that still has more than 200 reviews. Homion is best value at about £10.15, 4.5 from 219, score 77. The specification line says nylon and the bullets say polypropylene and SS304. Ties are extra.
You want to clear a bungalow or other low eaves from the ground, and you have checked the head fits. DYUEE is about £23.99, 3.2 from 86 reviews, score 49. Reviews say 4.4 m misses a two-storey gutter and that the head can be too big. It is not a roll you leave in the gutter.
The top pick is the Optimal Products one-roll listing at about £11.99. It scores 79, the highest here: one 4 m roll titled 100 mm, 4.4 from 358 amazon.co.uk reviews, with material unnamed and clips not in the box. Best value is the Homion one-roll at about £10.15, score 77, 4.5 from 219 reviews. The specification line says nylon and the bullets say polypropylene and SS304. The two-roll files share those star lines, so they are not a second sample. The poles sit well below, and none of them is a two-storey reach.
Homion 4 m roll
About £10.15 for one 4 m roll, 4.5 from 219 reviews, score 77. Nylon and polypropylene are both printed, and ties are extra.
