Flowers compost comparison 2026

The best flowers composts, compared.

Top pick: Munnie multi-purpose compost 60 L Best value: Growmoor multi-purpose compost 50 L – Lowest confirmed pence per litre, 18.5p at about £9.25. Munnie's lower figure depends on ignoring a packs field that says 2. Updated October 2026.

Flowers compost is a bagged potting or multi-purpose mix for flowering plants in pots, hanging baskets and window boxes. You buy it in the UK for summer bedding or a patio pot for one season. It is not homemade heap compost, and it is not a bulb kit or a tool. A peat-free multi-purpose bag suits one-season bedding and baskets. A heavier soil-based mix suits plants that stay in a pot for years. Acid-loving plants need an ericaceous compost, and seed needs a finer mix, then you pot on. Eco, organic, or reduces peat use is not peat-free. Check the litres, whether peat-free is printed, any feed window, and the weight. A sack around 12–15 kg is awkward without a car. After a printed feed window, summer flowers need a liquid feed. Matching the job, the litres and the peat wording is covered in the [flowers compost buying guide](/hub/fertiliser-soil-and-bark-mulch/flowers-compost/sub/flowers-compost-buying-guide).

The best flowers composts in detail

Munnie multi-purpose compost 60 L

Rank 1

Munnie multi-purpose compost 60 L

Our view

Munnie’s listing is £9.34 with the title and volume field both saying 60 litres and a listed weight of 14.9 kg, so about 16p a litre if the price is for one bag. The packs field says 2, which the title does not explain, so that pence-per-litre figure stays conditional. The bullets name vermiculite and wetting agents, and they say the blend enables a reduction in the use of peat. That wording is a reduced-peat claim. Stars are 4.6 from 2,045 reviews, the highest star line in the set. Praise includes a fine mix, indoor potting, and crops such as potatoes, tomatoes, and flowers. Complaints include weak moisture holding, holes in bags, a missed delivery, and bags left on the step. It suits a large multi-purpose fill when you accept a reduced-peat line and you can check whether you are paying for one bag or two.

Pros

  • 4.6 from 2,045 reviews, the highest stars here
  • Vermiculite and wetting agents named
  • Title and volume both say 60 litres
  • £9.34 if the shelf price is one bag

Cons

  • Peat line is reduced use, which is a different claim from peat-free
  • Packs field says 2, so the litre price is conditional
  • Reviews mention weak moisture holding and holed bags
  • 14.9 kg to carry

Best for: You want a large multi-purpose sack, you have checked it is one bag at £9.34, and a reduced-peat line is enough.

Less suitable: You need the words peat-free on the bag, or you cannot tell whether the price covers one sack or two.

Common questions

Is this listing peat-free?

The bullet says the blend enables a reduction in the use of peat. It does not say peat-free. It does name vermiculite, wetting agents, flowers, houseplants, vegetables, seed, pots, and hanging baskets.

Why does the price per litre say if one 60 L bag?

The title and the volume field say 60 litres, and the shelf price is £9.34. The number of packs field says 2, which the title does not explain. 15.6p assumes one 60 litre bag.

What do reviewers repeat?

Praise includes a fine mix, indoor potting, and crops such as potatoes, tomatoes, and flowers. Complaints include weak moisture holding, holes in bags, a missed delivery, and bags left on the step.

Growmoor multi-purpose compost 50 L

Rank 2

Growmoor multi-purpose compost 50 L

Our view

The Growmoor 50 litre multi-purpose bag is £9.25, which is 18.5p a litre on the stated volume, the lowest confirmed pence-per-litre figure in this set. The listed weight is 12 kg. The bullets name seeds, cuttings, containers, beds, borders, pots, and hanging baskets, and they do not say peat-free or give a feed window. The star line is 4.5 from 7,425 reviews, and in this raw set the first 50 review texts match the 60 litre Growmoor file, so that count is not a separate test of the 50 litre bag. Reviewers describe a fine mix, small twigs, and lumps you break by hand, and they mention a bag left outside by the courier. One reviewer thinks the compost contains peat, which is a review line rather than the label. At these shelf prices the 50 litre bag is cheaper per litre than the 60 litre Growmoor at £13.98. It is the best value pick when you need more litres, you can lift 12 kg, and the label does not have to say peat-free.

Pros

  • 50 litres at £9.25, 18.5p a litre
  • Title and volume field agree
  • Bullets name pots, beds, and baskets
  • 4.5 stars on a large review line

Cons

  • No peat-free line and no feed window
  • The 7,425 reviews are shared with the 60 litre file
  • 12 kg is awkward without a car
  • Lumps and courier complaints in the shared reviews

Best for: You want more litres at a confirmed low pence per litre and you can lift 12 kg without needing the words peat-free.

Less suitable: You need a peat-free label, a printed feed life, or a bag light enough for a flat without a car.

Common questions

Does the listing say this 50 litre bag is peat-free?

No. The bullets describe nutrients, an open texture, and water retention for seeds, cuttings, containers, beds, borders, pots, and hanging baskets. They do not say peat-free. One reviewer thinks it contains peat. That line is a review, not the label.

Are the 7,425 reviews only about the 50 litre bag?

In this raw set the first 50 review texts match the 60 litre Growmoor file, and both files show 4.5 from 7,425. Treat that block as shared review text.

What jobs does the listing name?

The bullets name seeds, cuttings, containers, beds, borders, pots, and hanging baskets. Indoor plants, ingredients, and vegetables are questions on the listing. The saved listing does not answer them.

Growmoor multi-purpose compost 60 L

Rank 3

Growmoor multi-purpose compost 60 L

∼£14

Our view

This Growmoor listing is 60 litres at £13.98, about 23p a litre, with a listed weight of 14 kg and country of origin United Kingdom. The bullets match the 50 litre file: seeds, cuttings, containers, beds, borders, pots, and hanging baskets, with no peat-free line and no NPK. The 4.5 from 7,425 reviews is the same line as the 50 litre file, and the first 50 review texts match, so you should not read it as a second, independent sample. On these shelf prices you pay more per litre than for the 50 litre Growmoor. Shared reviews mention a fine mix, twigs, lumps, use in containers, and a bag left outside. Flower beds, vegetables, and indoor plants are questions on the listing, not answers in the bullets. Buy the 60 litre size, model BGMPC60LTR-FBA, when that is the pack you can get, because on price per litre the 50 litre row is the stronger of the two.

Pros

  • 60 litres stated, and the volume field agrees
  • Country of origin listed as United Kingdom
  • Same stated uses as the 50 litre Growmoor
  • 4.5 stars on the shared review line

Cons

  • About 23p a litre, above the 50 litre Growmoor
  • Review texts are shared with the 50 litre file
  • No peat-free line and no feed window
  • 14 kg to carry

Best for: You specifically need the 60 litre Growmoor pack and you already accept that the review block is shared.

Less suitable: You are choosing between the two Growmoor sizes on pence per litre, or you need peat-free wording.

Common questions

Does the listing say this 60 litre bag is peat-free?

No. Country of origin is United Kingdom and the weight is 14 kg, but the bullets do not say peat-free or give an NPK. Flower beds, vegetables, and indoor plants are questions on the listing, not answers.

How does this differ on the page from the 50 litre Growmoor?

The saved listing shows 60 litres, £13.98, 14 kg, and model BGMPC60LTR-FBA. The 50 litre file is £9.25 and 12 kg. The first 50 review texts and the 4.5 from 7,425 line match the 50 litre file.

What do those shared reviews mention?

Reviewers describe a fine mix, small twigs, lumps to break by hand, use in containers, and Evri leaving a bag outside. Because the text is shared, those points are not tied to 60 litres alone.

Miracle-Gro peat-free compost 20 L

Rank 4

Miracle-Gro peat-free compost 20 L

Our view

The Miracle-Gro 20 litre bag is the only listing in this set that prints peat-free on the title and a smart-release feed for up to 3 months. At £7.95 it works out at about 40p a litre, and the listed weight is 6.15 kg, the lightest loose sack here. Across 1,307 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.5. Reviewers who had tried other peat-free bags say this one held moisture better, and roses are said to have grown well. Others mention too much coir, a hole in the bag, or a hydrangea that died after repotting. The bullets name flowers, fruit, veg, beds, borders, hanging baskets, pots, and containers, and they do not print an NPK. Indoor use is asked on the listing and left unanswered. For a one-season patio or basket where the bag must say peat-free and you can carry about 6 kg, this is the top pick in the set.

Pros

  • Peat-free is printed on the title
  • Feed window stated as up to 3 months
  • 6.15 kg, the lightest loose bag in the set
  • 4.5 from 1,307 reviews
  • Bullets name baskets, pots, and flower beds

Cons

  • About 40p a litre, dearer than the larger sacks
  • Reviews mention coir, a holed bag, and a hydrangea that died
  • No NPK, and indoor use is unanswered on the listing

Best for: You want a peat-free bag you can lift, with a printed feed of up to 3 months, for one-season flowers in pots or baskets.

Less suitable: Shrubs that stay in a pot for years, acid-loving plants, or a large loose volume at a lower pence per litre.

Common questions

Does the listing say this bag is peat-free?

Yes. Peat-free is in the product title and in the item type name. The bullets also say it is ready to use and name flowers, fruit, veg, beds, borders, hanging baskets, pots, and containers.

How long does the listing say the feed lasts?

One bullet says smart-release feeding for up to 3 months, and another says 14 nutrients. The saved listing does not give an NPK ratio. Indoor use is asked on the listing and is not answered in the bullets.

What do the reviews say about the mix?

From the first 50 reviews: some buyers prefer it to other peat-free bags that dried out, and roses are said to have grown well. Others mention too much coir, a hole in the bag, or a hydrangea that died after repotting.

Growmoor multi-purpose compost, 2 x 60 L listing

Rank 5

Growmoor multi-purpose compost, 2 x 60 L listing

∼£22

Our view

The CB Fuels listing is £21.71 and the title says 2 × 60 litre Growmoor, while the volume field says 60 litres and the weight says 22 kg. Those lines disagree, so this row has no price per litre. The bullets are short tags: Flowering, Potted Plants, Flower Beds, Multi Purpose Compost, and Added Nutrients, with no peat-free line and no feed window. The star line is 4.4 from 3,611 reviews. Buyers praise value and repeat orders for potatoes and beans. Others report a later delivery of a different brand, Bayview Blossom & Bloom, and split bags that spilled compost. The packs field says 2, which matches the title and not the volume field. Until the litres on the page agree, this is a weak value comparison, even if two full bags would look cheap on paper.

Pros

  • Title names flowering, pots, and flower beds
  • 4.4 from 3,611 reviews
  • Packs field says 2, matching the title

Cons

  • Volume field says 60 L while the title says 2 × 60 L
  • No price per litre while those fields disagree
  • Reviews include a different brand arriving later
  • Split bags that spilled compost

Best for: You have already confirmed with the seller that the parcel is two 60 litre Growmoor bags at this price.

Less suitable: You need a pence-per-litre comparison, or a listing whose title and volume field match.

Common questions

Is this one bag or two?

The title says 2 x 60 L and the packs field says 2. The volume field says 60 litres and the unit count says 22,000 g, while the weight says 22 kg. Those lines disagree, so this row does not show a price per litre.

Does the listing say the compost is peat-free or give a feed life?

No. The bullets are Flowering, Potted Plants, Flower Beds, Multi Purpose Compost, and Added Nutrients. Questions about vegetables, fertiliser, and indoor plants are not answered beyond Added Nutrients.

Buyers praise value and repeat orders for potatoes and beans. Others report a later delivery of a different brand, Bayview Blossom & Bloom, and split bags that spilled compost.

DIVCHI potting compost 10 L

Rank 6

DIVCHI potting compost 10 L

Our view

DIVCHI lists a 10 litre potting compost at £7.70, which is 77p a litre on that claim, with a parcel weight of 680 g and country of origin India. Reviewers describe a compressed block that expands when water is added, and the bullets do not print a water amount. One reviewer used 3 litres of warm water, which is a review figure rather than the instruction. The title says organic, with no certification body named and no peat-free line, though vermiculite is named. The star line is 4.4 from 1,702 reviews. Buyers report houseplants, strawberries, and tomatoes, and say the small parcel is easy to carry. Complaints include slow wetting, dry patches, and a sack that will not reseal once the block has expanded. Use it for a few pots when you can carry only a light parcel and you do not need the words peat-free.

Pros

  • Parcel weight 680 g, easy to carry upstairs
  • 4.4 from 1,702 reviews
  • Bullets name indoor and outdoor flowers
  • Vermiculite is named on the listing

Cons

  • 77p a litre on the 10 litre claim
  • No printed water volume for the compressed block
  • Organic wording with no certifier, and no peat-free line
  • Slow wetting and a sack that will not reseal, in reviews

Best for: You need a light parcel for a few indoor or outdoor pots and you will expand a block yourself.

Less suitable: You want ready loose compost today, a peat-free label, or enough volume for several baskets.

Common questions

Why is a 10 litre compost listed at 680 g?

The weight field is 680 g and the volume field is 10 litres. Reviewers describe a compressed block that expands when water is added. The listing bullets do not print a water amount. One reviewer used 3 litres of warm water.

Does organic on the title mean peat-free?

The title says organic and a bullet says organic materials. No certification body is named, and the bullets do not say peat-free. They do name vermiculite, and they state 50 percent garden soil and 20 percent sand or perlite in separate lines.

What do reviewers say once it is wetted?

They report use on houseplants, strawberries, and tomatoes, and say the small parcel is easy to carry. Complaints include slow wetting, dry patches, and a sack that will not reseal the expanded compost.

Laeto multi-purpose compost 120 L

Rank 7

Laeto multi-purpose compost 120 L

∼£25

Our view

Laeto’s listing is 120 litres at £24.99, about 21p a litre, the largest stated volume here, and the saved listing gives no item weight. The page calls it an organic planting mix for vegetables, herbs, flowers, and houseplants, and it claims a loam-based structure, with no certifier named and no peat-free line. Stars are 4.3 from 1,857 reviews, the lowest in the set. Some of those reviews describe 40 litre Laeto bags, so the count is not a clean sample of the 120 litre pack. One review reports a soaking bag, mildew, a glass shard, plastic, and wood. Others describe a loose mix with few lumps. The bullets also name rose beds, citrus, bulbs, and lawn top dressing, which the file does not show were tested. A 120 litre sack is a poor fit for a flat without a car, and organic on this page is a wording choice with no named certificate.

Pros

  • 120 litres, the largest stated volume in the set
  • About 21p a litre on that 120 litre figure
  • Bullets name flowers, houseplants, pots, and baskets
  • Some reviewers describe a loose mix with few lumps

Cons

  • 4.3 from 1,857, and some reviews describe 40 litre bags
  • No item weight and no peat-free line
  • Organic wording with no certifier named
  • One review reports mildew, wood, plastic, and glass

Best for: You have room and transport for a 120 litre multi-purpose sack and you treat organic as a listing word.

Less suitable: A balcony or flat without a car, a peat-free requirement, or anyone who needs the reviews to match 120 litres only.

Common questions

Does the listing say the 120 litre bag is peat-free?

No. It says an organic planting mix for vegetables, herbs, flowers, and houseplants, and it claims a loam-based structure. No certifier is named. A reviewer used the words peat-free. That is a review.

Which plants do the bullets name?

They name flowers, houseplants including peace lily and monstera, tomatoes and other crops, pots, and hanging baskets. They also name rose beds, citrus, bulbs, and lawn top dressing. The file does not show that those extra jobs were tested.

Do the reviews match 120 litres?

Not all of them. Some describe 40 litre Laeto bags. Separate from that, one review reports a soaking bag, mildew, a glass shard, plastic, and wood. Others describe a loose mix with few lumps.

How we compared

Seven amazon.co.uk listings were scored from the stored pages, read on 21 October 2026. There is no laboratory test. The parts are stars, the review sample, job fit, a confirmed price per litre, and review defects. Where the title and the volume field disagree, no pence-per-litre figure is scored. A shared review file is not counted as two tests. The highest score is the top pick. The best value is the lowest confirmed pence per litre, and it does not also take the top score. The weights below sum to 100.

1

Stars

20%

4.6 scores 20, 4.5 scores 18, 4.4 scores 16 and 4.3 scores 14. Munnie is 4.6 from 2,045. Miracle-Gro and both Growmoor size listings are 4.5. The CB Fuels listing is 4.4 from 3,611 and DIVCHI is 4.4 from 1,702. Laeto is 4.3 from 1,857.

2

Review sample

15%

A unique count in the thousands scores 11–12. The Growmoor 7,425 line is shared by the 50 litre and 60 litre files, so those rows score 8 and 7. Laeto scores 11 because some reviews describe 40 litre bags rather than the 120 litre listing.

3

Job fit

30%

Points for peat-free wording, flowers or baskets named, a printed feed window, and litre fields that agree. Only Miracle-Gro prints peat-free and a feed window of up to 3 months. Munnie's peat line is reduced use, not peat-free.

4

Confirmed price per litre

20%

Scored only where the title and the volume agree. Growmoor 50 litres at 18.5p scores 18. No figure is published for the CB Fuels listing. Munnie's 15.6p assumes one bag while the packs field says 2, so it scores 12. 77p on DIVCHI's 10 litre claim scores 4.

5

Review defects

15%

Courier complaints and lumps are common across the set and do not by themselves decide the row. A swapped brand, glass, or a holed bag scores lower. One Laeto review reports mildew, wood, plastic and glass. The CB Fuels file includes a later delivery of a different brand.

Flowers compost buying guide

Buy the job before you buy the star line. Peat-free multi-purpose, a soil-based mix and ericaceous compost are not one list. Prices below are amazon.co.uk shelf prices on 21 October 2026. This is not a laboratory test.

What to match before you buy

Flowers compost is the bag you buy for flowering plants in pots, baskets and window boxes. It is not homemade heap compost. Match the job before the star line. One-season bedding and baskets take a peat-free multi-purpose. A plant that stays in a pot for years takes a soil-based mix, and you accept the weight. Acid-loving plants take an ericaceous bag. Seed takes a finer, lower-nutrient compost, then you pot on. None of the seven amazon.co.uk bags kept here is a John Innes grade or ericaceous.

Best for

  • One-season pots and baskets where the bag must say peat-free
  • A larger fill when you can lift 12 kg and peat-free is not required
  • A few pots when you can only carry a light parcel

Not ideal for

  • Shrubs that stay in a pot for years, or acid-loving plants
  • Anyone who needs one price per litre from a listing whose litres disagree
  • Mulching a bed with potting compost

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

Confusing heap compost with potting compost

Flowers compost is a bagged mix for pots, baskets and window boxes. It is not the heap at the bottom of the garden, and it is a poor mulch for an open bed.

  2. 2

Treating an announced ban as a peat-free label

Defra's 2022 announcement did not become an Act. Eco, organic, or reduced peat use is not the same sentence as peat-free. Read the bag.

  3. 3

Counting the shared Growmoor reviews twice

The 50 litre and 60 litre Growmoor files share their first 50 review texts and the same 4.5 from 7,425 line. That is one sample, not two tests.

What to weigh up

Job, peat wording and feed window

High

One-season bedding and baskets take peat-free multi-purpose. A shrub left in a pot for years takes a soil-based mix such as peat-free John Innes No. 3, and you accept the weight. Acid-loving plants take ericaceous compost. Seed takes a finer, lower-nutrient compost, then you pot on. None of these seven bags is John Innes or ericaceous. Only Miracle-Gro prints peat-free, and it states a feed for up to 3 months. Munnie's line is a reduction in peat use, not peat-free.

Litres, weight and price per litre

High

Use a price per litre only when the title and the volume field agree. Growmoor 50 L is about £9.25, 18.5p a litre, at 12 kg. Growmoor 60 L is about £13.98, about 23p, at 14 kg, and its review texts are the shared file. Laeto is about £24.99 for a stated 120 litres, about 21p, with no item weight, and some reviews describe 40 litre bags. Miracle-Gro is about £7.95 for 20 litres, about 40p, at 6.15 kg.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

One-season pots and baskets

You are planting summer flowers in pots or a basket for one season, and the bag has to say peat-free. Miracle-Gro peat-free compost 20 L is the top pick at about £7.95, with a feed window of up to 3 months and a listed weight of 6.15 kg. amazon.co.uk shows 4.5 from 1,307 reviews. It is about 40p a litre. Reviews mention coir and a holed bag.

More litres you can lift

You want more litres and you can lift 12 kg, without needing the words peat-free. Growmoor multi-purpose compost 50 L is the best value at about £9.25, which is 18.5p a litre. The bullets do not give a feed window. The 4.5 from 7,425 reviews is shared with the 60 litre Growmoor file, so it is not a separate test.

A flat without a car

You need a parcel you can carry upstairs for a few pots. DIVCHI potting compost 10 L is about £7.70 and listed at 680 g. Reviewers describe a compressed block, and the bullets do not print how much water to add. It does not say peat-free. If you can carry 6.15 kg and need those words, the 20 litre peat-free bag is the other light option.

Common questions about flowers composts

Which flowers compost is the top pick in 2026?
The top pick is Miracle-Gro peat-free compost 20 L at about £7.95. It is the only bag in this set that prints peat-free and a feed window of up to 3 months. amazon.co.uk shows 4.5 from 1,307 reviews, and the listed weight is 6.15 kg. Reviews mention coir, a holed bag, and a hydrangea that died after repotting. It is about 40p a litre, so a larger sack is cheaper per litre. Choose it when the bag must say peat-free and you can carry about 6 kg.
Which flowers compost is the best value?
The best value is Growmoor multi-purpose compost 50 L at about £9.25, 18.5p a litre on the stated 50 litres. That is the lowest confirmed pence-per-litre figure here. The listed weight is 12 kg. The bullets do not say peat-free or give a feed window. The 4.5 from 7,425 reviews is shared with the 60 litre Growmoor file, so it is not a separate test. Choose it if you can lift 12 kg and the label need not say peat-free.
What is flowers compost, and how does it differ from heap compost?
Flowers compost is a bagged potting or multi-purpose compost for flowering plants in pots, baskets and window boxes. It is not homemade heap compost, and it is not a bulb kit. A peat-free multi-purpose bag is the usual choice for one-season bedding and baskets. Plants that stay in a pot for years need a heavier soil-based mix. Acid-loving plants need ericaceous compost. None of the seven bags here is that soil-based grade or an ericaceous mix. Do not mulch a bed with potting compost.
Does the bag have to say peat-free?
Only a bag that prints peat-free is peat-free. Eco, organic, or a line about reducing peat use is a different claim. In this set, only the Miracle-Gro 20 litre listing prints peat-free. Munnie says the blend enables a reduction in the use of peat, which is not the same sentence. Organic on the Laeto and DIVCHI listings names no certifier and does not say peat-free. A reviewer's guess is not the label.
Is selling peat compost already illegal in England?
No. Defra said in August 2022 that amateur peat sales in England would end by 2024. No Act did that. A December 2025 Commons answer, confirmed by a January 2026 letter, says the government will legislate when parliamentary time allows. The matter is devolved, so that answer is England. Do not say peat compost is already illegal in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. Read the peat wording on the bag you buy.
How should you handle a bag of flowers compost?
The Royal Horticultural Society says wear gloves, do not breathe into the bag, do not store compost in a greenhouse, and wash your hands. The same advice names Legionella longbeachae. Cough, breathlessness and fever after heavy use, especially if you are older or immunosuppressed, is a reason to contact NHS 111 or a GP. These listings do not claim a composted-biowaste certification. Glass or a split bag is the retailer's complaint route, not a reason to keep using the bag.
When do summer flowers need a liquid feed?
No listing in this set prints an NPK. Only Miracle-Gro states a feed window, and that window is up to 3 months. After it ends, summer flowers need a high-potassium liquid feed. The other six bags do not state a feed life, so plan a feed if the flowers are hungry. A liquid feed is a different product: see the flowers fertiliser comparison. Watering only because the surface looks dry is a common mistake with peat-free mixes.
When is a price per litre not shown?
Do not use one pence-per-litre figure when the title and the volume field disagree. The CB Fuels listing is about £21.71. The title says 2 × 60 litres and the packs field says 2, while the volume field says 60 litres and the weight says 22 kg. Until those litres agree, it is not a value comparison. Munnie is about £9.34 with the title and volume both at 60 litres, but the packs field says 2, so 15.6p a litre assumes one bag. Confirm the parcel first.

Our verdict

The top pick for one-season flowers in pots or baskets is Miracle-Gro peat-free compost 20 L at about £7.95. It is the only listing here that prints peat-free and a feed window of up to 3 months, the listed weight is 6.15 kg, and amazon.co.uk shows 4.5 from 1,307 reviews. It is about 40p a litre. The best value is Growmoor multi-purpose compost 50 L at about £9.25, 18.5p a litre, the lowest confirmed figure. It does not say peat-free, it weighs 12 kg, and the 4.5 from 7,425 reviews is shared with the 60 litre Growmoor file. Munnie has the highest stars, at 4.6 from 2,045, but the packs field says 2, so its litre price stays conditional. None of these scores is a laboratory test.

Lowest confirmed pence per litre, 18.5p at about £9.25. Munnie's lower figure depends on ignoring a packs field that says 2.
