1000W power inverter comparison 2026

The best 1000W power inverters, compared.

Top pick: Jectse 1000W 24V inverter Best value: Renogy 1000W pure sine inverter – UK sockets on the title at about £113.99, with 4.4 from 163 reviews. The listing does not agree whether the warranty is one year or two. Updated 22.10.2026.

A power inverter turns 12 V DC from a leisure battery into about 230 V AC at 50 Hz for a van, boat or shed. About 1 A at 230 V is about 20 A from the battery before losses, so runtime depends on the battery. Buy a pure sine wave, a BS 1363-style socket and a continuous 1000 W rating. Treat a 2000 W peak as a short start-up only. Waveform, volts and sockets are in the [1000 W power inverter buying guide](/hub/electrical-equipment/1000w-power-inverter/sub/1000w-power-inverter-buying-guide). You use one in a van, boat or shed when a laptop, television, charger or small appliance needs a mains-style outlet and the battery is the source. A 2000 W figure is a short peak, and it is not a kettle you can leave on. At 12 V and about 90 percent efficiency, 1000 W is roughly 93 A on the DC side. 12 simpler sum is 1000 ÷ 12 ≈ 83 A, and they suggest 25 mm² cable. A stricter van table uses about 35 mm² under 1 m and 50 mm² for 1–2 m. The manual wins, and the fuse belongs on the positive lead at the battery.

A power inverter turns 12 V DC from a leisure battery into about 230 V AC at 50 Hz for a van, boat or shed. About 1 A at 230 V is about 20 A from the battery before losses, so runtime depends on the battery.

The best 1000W power inverters in detail

Jectse 1000W 24V inverter

Rank 1

Jectse 1000W 24V inverter

∼£37

Our view

The Jectse listing is a modified-sine inverter specified as 24 V in and 220 V out, at £37.37 and 707 g. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.6 from 3 reviews. The saved listing contains one UK review, and it says only “a1”, with no feature and no fault. That thin star line is why the score sits at the top of this set, and it is not evidence that the unit runs a UK leisure battery. A 24 V input matches many lorries, not a single 12 V battery. The output is printed as 220 V, not about 230 V, and the waveform is modified sine. The box-contents field lists the manual, while the title mentions clamps and a lighter plug, so the included lead is not cleanly stated. There is no warranty line on the listing. Buy it only if you already have a 24 V system and you accept a three-review page.

Pros

  • £37.37, the lowest shelf price in this set
  • A 24 V input, which matches many lorry electrical systems
  • The bullets agree with each other that the wave is modified sine and the peak claim is 2000 W
  • Listed weight is 707 g

Cons

  • It will not run from a 12 V leisure battery
  • Output is specified as 220 V, on a modified sine wave
  • 4.6 from only 3 reviews, and the UK text is the word “a1”
  • The box-contents field lists only the manual, while the title mentions clamps

Best for: You already run a 24 V system and you will check the plug and the leads before you rely on them.

Less suitable: You have a 12 V leisure battery, or you want UK sockets and a pure sine wave.

Common questions

Will this run from a 12 V leisure battery?

The listing specifies 24 V input and 220 V output. It does not match a 12 V battery.

What waveform does it produce?

The bullets and the specification field both say modified sine wave.

How many UK reviews are there?

The listing shows 4.6 from 3 reviews. The saved listing contains one UK review, and it does not describe a fault or a feature.

Novopal DLCD1000PUK12 1000W

Rank 2

Novopal DLCD1000PUK12 1000W

∼£160

Our view

The Novopal DLCD1000PUK12 is the pure-sine 12 V listing at £159.99 with a digital LCD, two UK sockets in the bullets, a 2.4 A USB port and a remote on a 16.4 ft lead. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.5 from 384 reviews, though several UK texts on that page describe 1500 W or 3000 W Novopal units, so you should not read 384 as a clean sample of this 1000 W model. Reviewers who do talk about the screen and the remote call them useful, and one camper report includes an air fryer. A buyer who had been on a 300 W unit describes charging larger tool batteries, and one report says support replied within a couple of hours. The LCD is also the recurring annoyance: it turns off quickly, and the button sits awkwardly under the sockets. Email-only support is described as slow in a long complaint, and one inverter beeped continuously with no load after about 26 months, past the 1-year line on the listing. In this set it is the top pick when you want the screen and the named UK sockets and you accept that mixed review page.

Pros

  • Digital LCD for battery supply, input voltage, AC output and warnings
  • Two UK sockets plus a 2.4 A USB port in the bullets
  • Remote on a 16.4 ft lead
  • 4.5 from 384 reviews, with other wattages mixed into that page
  • Camper and tool-battery use described in UK reviews

Cons

  • £159.99, the highest shelf price in this set
  • The review page mixes 1500 W and 3000 W Novopal units
  • LCD turns off quickly and the button sits under the sockets
  • One unit beeped with no load after about 26 months

Best for: You want a 12 V pure-sine inverter with a screen and two UK sockets, and you will not treat the 384-review line as this model alone.

Less suitable: You want the lowest price, a review sample that is only this 1000 W model, or a warranty longer than the 1-year field.

Common questions

Does the Novopal DLCD1000PUK12 have a screen?

Yes. The listing says a digital LCD shows battery supply, input voltage, AC output and warning states.

Are the sockets UK sockets?

The bullet text says two UK sockets and one 2.4 A USB port, plus a remote on a 16.4 ft lead.

Do the 384 reviews all describe this 1000 W model?

No. Several UK reviews on the raw page describe 1500 W or 3000 W Novopal units. The star line is the listing total, not a pure 1000 W sample.

Renogy 1000W pure sine inverter

Rank 3

Renogy 1000W pure sine inverter

∼£114

Our view

Across 163 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.4, the Renogy R-INVT-PUH1-101235-UK is the 12 V to 230 V pure-sine inverter whose title names UK sockets, a remote and a 50 ms grid-priority claim, at £113.99. Van and motorhome reviewers describe 230 V use that includes a reported 1000 W induction hob and smaller loads such as a fridge, and several say it stays quiet until the load rises. The case and the supplied cables are often praised, and the remote on/off is called useful. The same listing argues with itself on warranty: the bullets say two years and the product field says one year, and reviewers repeat that clash. Earth bolts are described as very small, sockets can be fiddly, and fan noise differs between two units doing the same job. One review discusses about 1 A with no load and warmth on standby. Failures are in the file too: one unit died in under 30 minutes and was replaced after Renogy first blamed the install, and another smoked on a 650 W heater after about 15 months. In this set it is the best value when you want those UK sockets at £113.99 and you will check which warranty line you are being sold.

Pros

  • Title names UK sockets on a 12 V to 230 V pure-sine inverter
  • Remote in the box, and reviewers call on/off useful
  • Van reviews include a reported 1000 W induction hob and fridge loads
  • £113.99 with 4.4 from 163 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Listing claims a 50 ms grid-priority switch

Cons

  • Warranty text says both 1 year and 2 years
  • Earth bolts described as very small
  • Fan noise and a fiddly socket come up in reviews
  • One unit smoked on a 650 W heater after about 15 months

Best for: You want a 12 V pure-sine inverter with UK sockets named on the title, for a van or boat, and you will check which warranty line Amazon is showing.

Less suitable: You need a screen on the inverter, a USB port the listing states, or one agreed warranty length.

Common questions

Does this Renogy inverter include a remote?

Yes. The amazon.co.uk listing box contents are a cable, an instruction manual, the inverter and a remote control.

What input voltage does it need?

The listing specifies 12 V DC in and 230 V AC out at 50 Hz, with 1000 W continuous and 2000 W peak.

How long is the warranty?

The bullets say a 2-year warranty and the product-information field says 1 year. The listing does not resolve that conflict.

SUDOKEJI 1000W inverter

Rank 4

SUDOKEJI 1000W inverter

∼£56

Our view

The SUDOKEJI listing is £55.99 with a pure-sine claim, 1000 W continuous, 2000 W peak, a remote and 30 W USB-C on the title. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.4 from 129 reviews, and the saved listing marks 7 of those as United Kingdom. The page does not agree on output voltage: the title says 120 V AC, a bullet and the specification table say 240 V, and a UK review reports UK-shaped plugs with 120 V output. That conflict is why this row stays unresolved for a UK kettle or a 230 V charger. Reviewers who like it call the case solid and use the remote screen to switch and watch the output away from the inverter. A caravan report says it runs a laptop and small appliances. One buyer calls it cheap-feeling and light and would not leave it unsupervised, and another mentions a slight buzz. A 1 kW coffee machine that surged to about 1260 W shut down near 1200 W, so that review does not support the 2000 W peak as a sustained surge.

Pros

  • £55.99 with a remote and 30 W USB-C on the title
  • 4.4 from 129 listing reviews
  • Remote screen used to switch the inverter from a distance
  • A caravan report of a laptop and small appliances

Cons

  • The title says 120 V and the specification table says 240 V
  • A UK review reports 120 V on UK-shaped plugs
  • Only 7 of the 129 reviews are marked United Kingdom
  • A coffee-machine surge cut out near 1200 W in one report

Best for: You have measured the voltage on the unit you receive and you only need small loads you have already checked.

Less suitable: You need a confirmed output near 230 V for ordinary UK mains appliances.

Common questions

Is the output 230 V?

The listing disagrees with itself. The title says 120 V AC, a bullet and the specification table say 240 V, and a UK review says the plugs are UK-shaped but the output is 120 V.

Did the 2000 W surge hold a coffee machine?

One UK review says a 1 kW coffee machine that surged to about 1260 W shut the inverter down near 1200 W. That is one report, not a lab test.

Are all 129 reviews from the UK?

No. The saved listing marks 7 reviews as United Kingdom. 129 is the listing total.

MINGHAOXIN 202-1000W inverter

Rank 5

MINGHAOXIN 202-1000W inverter

∼£80

Our view

The MINGHAOXIN 202-1000W is a pure-sine 12 V to 240 V inverter at £79.99, with UK sockets and an LCD on the title, three USB ports, and a listed weight of 1.2 kg. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.4 from 8 reviews, six of them marked United Kingdom, which is too small a sample to treat as a settled verdict. Two short reviews say it works for the price, one motorhome owner likes the compact fit, and one caravan review says it charged a mobility scooter off-grid. That scooter sentence is a single report, not a specification you can plan around. The product field states a 60-day warranty against manufacturer defects, the shortest warranty line in this set. A UK review says the supplied cables are short and that the buyer added a fuse holder and an isolator. Another review warns it will drain the battery if left on at night, without a measured idle current. One review says only that it was not as expected, and does not describe a fault.

Pros

  • £79.99 with UK sockets and an LCD named on the title
  • A 1.2 kg case that fitted a motorhome in one review
  • The box list includes a cable and a fuse
  • The listing names fault codes such as EE1 for low voltage and EE2 for over-voltage

Cons

  • Only 8 reviews on the listing
  • The product field states a 60-day warranty
  • Supplied cables are described as short
  • A review warns against leaving it on overnight, with no measured idle current

Best for: You want a lower shelf price and a UK-socket title, and you accept eight reviews and a 60-day warranty line.

Less suitable: You want a large review sample, or a warranty you can still use after two months.

One UK review says the cables are short and that the buyer added a fuse holder and an isolator. Length is not in the specification table.

Novopal PS1000 inverter

Rank 6

Novopal PS1000 inverter

∼£113

Our view

The Novopal PS1000, model TS1000, is the cheaper Novopal row at £113.19: pure sine, 12 V to 240 V, two UK sockets, a USB port and a wired remote of about 16.4 ft. The star line is 4.2 from 452 reviews. One detailed review describes multi-year camper use on a 230 V compressor fridge, and others mention a toaster, a hair dryer and a small hob on lithium and solar. A shed user cites pure sine as the reason they trust the outlet with electronics. The inverter itself has no display, which reviewers notice, and the remote is described as basic. One UK review puts standby draw at about 2 A and says you should switch the unit fully off when it is not in use. Support declined help after one year, which matches the 1-year field on the listing. A first unit shut down at random and the remote failed; the replacement was fine. Another story is a thermal trip with the cooling fans not running.

Pros

  • Two UK sockets and a wired remote at £113.19
  • 4.2 from 452 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • One detailed review describes a 230 V compressor fridge in a camper
  • Reports include a toaster, a hair dryer and a small hob

Cons

  • No display on the inverter itself
  • One review puts standby near 2 A if it is left on
  • Support declined help after the 1-year line
  • A reviewer disputes the short-circuit protection printed on the listing

Best for: You want two UK sockets near £113 and you will switch the inverter fully off between jobs.

Less suitable: You want a screen on the case, or you leave the inverter in standby overnight.

Common questions

What is the peak power?

The listing states 1000 W continuous and 2000 W peak, from 12 V DC to 240 V AC at 50 Hz.

Does it have a USB port?

Yes. The bullets include a USB outlet as well as two UK sockets. The USB current is not stated.

Can it be left in standby?

One UK review says standby draw is about 2 A and that the inverter should be switched fully off when it is not in use. That is a review, not a spec-sheet figure.

Giandel PS-1000DAR inverter

Rank 7

Giandel PS-1000DAR inverter

∼£146

Our view

The Giandel PS-1000DAR is a 12 V to 240 V pure-sine inverter at £145.99, with one AC outlet, a 2.4 A USB port and a remote of about 15 ft. Across 67 amazon.co.uk reviews the score is 4.2, and the review notes cover 26 UK texts. Reviewers say it held a real load after other inverters did not, and more than one account says the 24-month warranty was honoured with a replacement. The remote cable length is praised, and the case is called compact for the rating. The title says an AC outlet, not UK sockets, so you still have to check the plug that arrives. One review reports strong radio interference beside audio gear. Failures cluster around the year mark: more than one account failed after about 13 to 15 months, one fault light appeared around ten months and was replaced, and a replacement unit failed within a week before Amazon refunded. A mounting hole sits behind the negative post, which makes the bracket awkward.

Pros

  • The listing states a 24-month warranty, and reviews describe replacements
  • Total harmonic distortion claimed at or below 3%
  • Remote of about 15 ft, with the length praised
  • More than one review says it held a load after another inverter did not

Cons

  • One AC outlet, and the title does not say UK sockets
  • Failures around 13 to 15 months in more than one account
  • Radio interference beside audio gear in one review
  • A mounting hole sits behind the negative terminal

Best for: You want the 24-month warranty line in writing and you only need one AC outlet.

Less suitable: You need two UK sockets named on the title, or you run audio gear next to the inverter.

Cantonape 1000W modified inverter

Rank 8

Cantonape 1000W modified inverter

∼£65

Our view

The Cantonape is the modified-sine 12 V to 230 V unit at £64.99, with three universal sockets and four USB ports on the title, and a listed weight of 1.2 kg. The star line is 4.0 from 111 reviews. The listing limits the cigarette-lighter path to about 200 W continuous and points the higher load at the battery clamps. The continuous figure is also messy: the title says 1000 W and the wattage field says 2000 W, while the peak field is 2000 W. Some reviewers run a wet-and-dry vacuum or a mini-fridge in a camper. Others say it does not deliver a 1000 W load: one buyer estimated about 300 W and could not start an 800 W microwave, and another could not run a television and a Chromecast together. The cooling fan is called a bit noisy. Defect stories include smoke when it was attached to a battery, blown fuses on the 12 V circuit in two vehicles, and a unit that failed on the second use or worked for less than a minute.

Pros

  • £64.99, with several sockets and a lighter lead named in the bullet
  • An 18-month warranty is stated on the listing
  • Some UK reviews describe a mini-fridge or a vacuum
  • The input is 12 V, unlike the 24 V row in this set

Cons

  • Modified sine wave, and the sockets are universal rather than BS 1363
  • The lighter path is limited to about 200 W continuous on the listing
  • The title says 1000 W and the wattage field says 2000 W
  • Reviews conflict on whether an 800 W microwave will start, and some units smoked or blew vehicle fuses

Best for: You only run a simple load you have already proved, on the battery clamps, and you do not need a UK socket.

Less suitable: You want a pure sine wave, a BS 1363 socket, or the full 1000 W from a cigarette lighter.

Common questions

Can the full 1000 W run from the cigarette lighter?

No. The listing says the lighter connection provides up to 200 W continuous, and the battery clamps are the path for the higher load.

Is the output a pure sine wave?

No. The specification field says modified sine wave.

Did buyers get 1000 W?

One UK review says the unit delivered far less and would not run an 800 W microwave. Other reviews say a vacuum or a mini-fridge worked. The reports conflict.

How we compared

Eight 1000W power inverters on amazon.co.uk were scored from the listings and the UK review notes on 19 October 2026. This page did not lab-test them. A star row is the amazon.co.uk figure. Waveform, voltage, socket and warranty lines are the seller’s claim unless a UK review contradicts them. A 2000 W peak is not a continuous rating. The top pick is the highest score among listings with at least 10 reviews that are pure sine, 12 V, and about 230 V or 240 V. The best value is the strongest price-for-evidence row that is not the same model. A sample under 10 reviews, a 24 V input, a 120 V title, a modified wave, or a voltage conflict does not take an award.

1

Amazon evidence

35%

Star rating, then sample size. Under 10 reviews the sample cannot outrank a season of comments. The Jectse line is 4.6 from 3 reviews, which is why its score is 92, and that sample is too thin to carry an award.

2

Spec fit for a UK 12 V job

30%

Pure sine, about 230 V or 240 V out, a 12 V input, and a UK socket named on the listing. A 24 V input, a 120 V title, a modified wave, or a universal socket loses the category job even when the number is high.

3

Review outcome

20%

UK comments that describe a real load, with deductions for failures, standby current, and a warranty the listing does not agree with itself on.

4

Value

15%

Shelf price in GBP against that evidence. The highest score is not also the value award. A voltage conflict does not take the value award.

1000W power inverter buying guide

Start with the waveform, then the battery voltage, then whether the output is actually about 230 V into a UK socket. Continuous watts come before any peak figure. The notes below follow that order for these eight amazon.co.uk listings, checked on 19 October 2026. None of the scores is a lab test.

What is a 1000W power inverter?

A 1000W power inverter takes 12 V DC from a leisure battery and turns it into about 230 V AC at 50 Hz. UK mains is 230 V at 50 Hz, and ordinary plugs are BS 1363 under the Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994. You use one in a van, boat or shed when a laptop, television, charger or small appliance needs a mains-style outlet and the battery is the source. The inverter does not create energy.

Best for

  • A campervan, boat or shed on a 12 V leisure battery, running a laptop, television, charger or small fridge
  • A buyer who wants UK sockets named on the title and will check the warranty line on the Renogy listing
  • A 24 V system, if you accept modified sine at 220 V and a three-review page

Not ideal for

  • Anyone buying on a 2000 W peak, or trying to take 1000 W from a cigarette lighter
  • A CPAP, laptop or audio setup on a modified sine wave
  • A house socket, a back-feed, or an install where shore power and the inverter can meet

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Buying the peak watts

The continuous rating is 1000 W. A 2000 W peak is a short start-up. One SUDOKEJI review says a coffee machine that surged to about 1260 W shut the inverter down near 1200 W. That report does not support the peak as a sustained load.

  2. 2

Using the cigarette lighter for 1000 W

The Cantonape listing limits the lighter path to about 200 W continuous. The higher load belongs on battery clamps, with a fuse at the battery. Thin cable and an unfused positive lead are how these installs fail.

  3. 3

    Ignoring 120 V, 24 V, or a house socket

The Jectse is 24 V to 220 V. The SUDOKEJI title says 120 V while the table says 240 V. Do not plug any of these into a house socket. Shore power and the inverter need a changeover so they cannot meet.

What to weigh up

Waveform

High

Pure sine is the baseline for a laptop, a CPAP, a microwave, a charger or a motor. The Camping and Caravanning Club says a pure sine wave matches the utility waveform and suits any load type. Modified sine is the cheaper wave in this set, and it is only for a simple resistive load you have already proved. A plug-in meter that reads about 230 V does not change that. In these eight listings the pure-sine 12 V rows are the Renogy, both Novopal models, the Giandel and the MINGHAOXIN.

Voltage, socket and battery current

High

Input voltage has to match the battery. A normal UK leisure battery is 12 V. The Jectse is specified as 24 V in, so it will not run on 12 V, whatever the star line says. Output for UK appliances should be about 230 V at 50 Hz, into a BS 1363 plug. The Plugs and Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994 are the frame for that plug. Schuko-only and universal sockets are a poor match. UK sockets are named on the Renogy title, both Novopal listings and the MINGHAOXIN title.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

A van, boat or motorhome on 12 V

You run a laptop, television or fridge from a 12 V leisure battery and you want pure sine with UK sockets named on the listing. The Novopal DLCD1000PUK12 adds an LCD at about £159.99. Do not read the 384 reviews as this 1000 W model alone.

UK sockets without the LCD price

You want a 12 V pure-sine inverter with UK sockets on the title, and you do not need a screen on the case. The Renogy is about £113.99. Check which warranty line the listing is showing before you buy.

A 24 V system you already have

You already run 24 V, as on many lorries, and you accept modified sine at 220 V. The Jectse is about £37.37, with 4.6 from only three reviews. It will not run on a 12 V leisure battery.

Common questions about 1000W power inverters

Which 1000W power inverter is the top pick in this set?
The top pick is the Novopal DLCD1000PUK12 at about £159.99, with 4.5 from 384 amazon.co.uk reviews. The listing is pure sine, 12 V to 230 V, with a digital LCD, a remote on a 16.4 ft lead and two UK sockets. Several reviews on that page describe 1500 W or 3000 W Novopal units, so 384 is the listing total, not a pure 1000 W sample. The score is 90. This page did not lab-test it.
How much does a 1000W power inverter cost on amazon.co.uk?
On these eight amazon.co.uk shelves, checked on 19 October 2026, prices run from about £37.37 to about £159.99. Modified-sine and odd-voltage units sit around £37–£65. Pure-sine 12 V units with UK-oriented titles sit around £80–£160. The Renogy at about £113.99 is the best value. The Novopal with an LCD is about £159.99, the highest price here. These eight prices are this set only, and they will move.
Do you need a pure sine wave?
Choose pure sine for a laptop, a CPAP, a microwave, a charger or a motor. The Camping and Caravanning Club says pure sine matches the utility waveform and suits any load type. Modified sine, which is the Cantonape and the Jectse in this set, is only for a simple resistive load you have already proved. A meter reading near 230 V does not make a modified wave suitable for a CPAP or for audio gear.
Can a 1000W inverter run from a cigarette lighter?
Not at 1000 W. The Cantonape listing says the cigarette-lighter lead provides up to 200 W continuous, and the battery clamps are the path for the higher load. At 12 V, 1000 W continuous is roughly 80–100 A before you allow for losses, which a lighter socket is not built for. Fuse the positive cable at the battery. Amp-hours do not set the cable size. The manual wins on the cross-section.
Will a 24 V inverter run on a 12 V leisure battery?
No. The Jectse listing specifies 24 V input and 220 V output on a modified sine wave, at about £37.37. That input matches many lorry systems, not a single 12 V leisure battery. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.6 from 3 reviews, and that sample is too small for an award. The other seven listings in this comparison specify a 12 V input.
Can you plug a 1000W inverter into a house socket?
No. Do not plug the inverter into a house socket, and do not back-feed a ring final circuit. The Renogy listing claims a 50 ms grid-priority switch. That claim is not permission to connect the inverter to the house wiring. Shore power and the inverter need a changeover so the two sources cannot meet. GOV.UK’s plug-in solar specification, up to 800 VA, does not cover this battery inverter.
When should you call a professional?
Call a competent person when the AC output enters a consumer unit, when you are unsure of the neutral-earth bond, when shore power and the inverter can both be connected, or when the cable run is longer than the manual allows. Caravan and motor caravan wiring sits under BS 7671 section 721, including a 30 mA RCD. How long the battery will last is a separate question, covered in the leisure battery comparison. This page did not lab-test these inverters.

Our verdict

In this set of eight amazon.co.uk listings, the top pick is the Novopal DLCD1000PUK12 at about £159.99, with 4.5 from 384 reviews. It is pure sine, 12 V to 230 V, with an LCD, a remote and two UK sockets. The review page mixes other wattages, and the LCD turns off quickly. The best value is the Renogy at about £113.99, with 4.4 from 163 reviews and UK sockets on the title. Its warranty field says one year and the bullets say two years. The Jectse score is 92 from 4.6 and only three reviews, so it has no award, and it is 24 V modified sine. None of these scores is a lab test.
