Multi tool accessories comparison 2026

The best multi tool accessories, compared.

Top pick: Merryland 57-pack blades Best value: Vtopmart 114-piece kit – Lowest price among mixed kits with at least 400 reviews: about £20.99, 4.4 from 854, with sanding sheets and three adapters. Updated October 2026.

Multi tool accessories are the blades, sanding pads and specialist scoops you fit to an oscillating multi-tool you already own. In the UK they are consumables: a plunge tooth for skirting, plastic and plasterboard, a mixed kit when you also sand, or a single foam scoop for a conduit channel. You are choosing an edge, not a second power tool. A suitable pack is the one whose mount matches the head. Starlock, StarlockPlus and StarlockMax do not accept a universal slotted blade because a bullet names a familiar brand. Older pin mounts and budget quick-release heads need the exclusion line. After the mount, match the tooth: high-carbon steel for wood, plastic and plasterboard, bi-metal when nails are likely, carbide for grout. A gold colour is not proof of bi-metal. Many copies of one plunge width are a refill, not a mixed kit. Adapter rings can help some older heads. They do not make a Starlock blade. A loose blade is still a projectile. That order of checks is the [multi tool accessories buying guide](/hub/lawn-and-garden-equipment/multi-tool-accessories/sub/multi-tool-accessories-buying-guide).

The best multi tool accessories in detail

Merryland 57-pack blades

Rank 1

Merryland 57-pack blades

∼£29

Our view

The amazon.co.uk line is 4.8 from 30 at £28.90, model OMTAM057D1. The saved review text is not from the United Kingdom, so those comments are not UK opinion. The listing itself says 50 high-carbon steel blades, 4 titanium-coated blades and 3 clip adapters, a 35 mm width, a quick-release interface, and no Starlock fit. Named hosts are DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita and Ryobi. It is a same-width refill, not a mixed sanding kit, and the star line sits on a small count.

Pros

  • 35 mm HCS refill plus 4 titanium-coated blades stated
  • 3 clip adapters in the highlight
  • Quick-release claimed, Starlock excluded in plain text
  • 4.8 from 30 on the amazon.co.uk line

Cons

  • Review text in the saved listing is not United Kingdom
  • Number-of-items cell says 54 while the title says 57
  • No sanding pad in the description
  • Most pieces are one wood size

Best for: A non-Starlock tool that needs a drawer of 35 mm wood blades

Less suitable: A Starlock Bosch or Fein, or a buyer who wants UK review text

Common questions

Does the Merryland 57-pack blades listing fit Starlock?

No. The bullet says not compatible with Starlock systems.

Can this listing cut screws or hard metal?

The bullet says HCS for softwoods and PVC, and the titanium blades for harder wood and soft metals. It does not name screws.

Is sanding included with Merryland 57-pack blades?

No sanding pad is in the included description.

Hommakr 53-piece blades

Rank 2

Hommakr 53-piece blades

∼£17

Our view

Hommakr MTB-53 is £16.89, 4.7 from 23, all of them United Kingdom in the saved listing. The size cell is 50 blades plus 3 adapters and a manual, in high-carbon steel, for wood, plastic and soft metal, with a 35 mm width claim. UK reviewers treat the 50 as one plunge blade, not a mixed kit. One measured about 34 mm. They fit DeWalt-style and Parkside tools, and one Fein FMM250Q. The star line is high and the count is too small for the top-pick rule used here.

Pros

  • Low price for 50 plunge blades
  • 3 adapters and a manual
  • UK reviews, not a US-only file
  • A buyer did cut an embedded nail and carry on

Cons

  • Only 23 reviews
  • Not a variety pack, on the UK descriptions
  • 98 percent fit is a claim
  • No pads and no carbide

Best for: Refilling a non-Starlock tool with one 35 mm plunge size

Less suitable: A mixed kit, grout carbide, or a decision that needs a large review count

Common questions

Does the Hommakr 53-piece blades listing fit Starlock?

Not stated. A Fein FMM250Q fit is one UK review, not a StarlockMax promise.

Can this listing cut screws or hard metal?

Soft metal is the listing limit. One UK test cut an embedded nail and the blade still cut wood afterwards. Reviewers still call the life shorter than a branded blade.

Is sanding included with Hommakr 53-piece blades?

No sanding pad is included.

Coselena 22-piece blades

Rank 3

Coselena 22-piece blades

∼£10

Our view

Coselena CS072 is the top pick in this set on the rule used here: 4.6 from 231, the highest amazon.co.uk star line with at least 100 reviews, at £9.95. The blades are high-carbon steel and stainless steel, with Dremel, Bosch and C-clip adapters, and they are not for screws or bolts. UK reviewers report skirting, PVC sills, a Milwaukee fit, a repeat buy in a renovation, and metal teeth that wear quickly. There is no sanding kit. The 22 g weight cell is printed as it stands.

Pros

  • Highest star line here with a review count over 100
  • Lowest blade-set price in the twelve
  • Three named adapters
  • UK use on Black & Decker, Milwaukee and laminate

Cons

  • Metal blades wear quickly, on the UK reviews
  • Only 22 pieces
  • Not a sanding kit
  • Hard metals excluded

Best for: A first pack for wood, plastic and PVC on a non-Starlock multi-tool

Less suitable: Grout, a drawer of spare shapes, or repeated screw cutting

Common questions

Does the Coselena 22-piece blades listing fit Starlock?

Not stated. The Bosch adapter is a clamp ring, not evidence of Starlock.

Can this listing cut screws or hard metal?

Soft metal is in the title. Screws and bolts are excluded. A UK reviewer said the metal blades wear quickly.

Is sanding included with Coselena 22-piece blades?

No sanding pad is described.

LEILUO 158-piece kit

Rank 4

LEILUO 158-piece kit

∼£24

Our view

LEILUO TL061 is £23.99 and 4.5 from 3,432, the largest review count in this set, rank 7 in Oscillating Tool Accessories. It is chromium-vanadium, with a storage bag, a 70 mm titanium-coated semi-circular blade, and a printed ban on Starlock, StarlockPlus and StarlockMax. Dremel needs the adapter. UK reviews include a successful door-bottom cut and DeWalt fits, plus short edge life, a slipping sanding sheet, and one count of 116 pieces against the 158 title. The set-name cell already says 116-piece.

Pros

  • 4.5 from 3,432
  • Starlock exclusion is explicit
  • Storage bag and a Dremel adapter stated
  • UK door-trimming use

Cons

  • 158 and 116 both appear on the listing
  • Hook-and-loop slip reported
  • Edges go blunt sooner than buyers hoped
  • One Makita fit complaint

Best for: A DeWalt or similar quick-change tool, if you accept a consumable edge and check the piece count on arrival

Less suitable: Any Starlock Bosch or Fein, or a buyer who needs the title count to match the set name

Common questions

Does the LEILUO 158-piece kit listing fit Starlock?

No. The bullet says not compatible with Starlock, StarlockPlus or StarlockMax.

Can this listing cut screws or hard metal?

The highlight mentions nails. Reviewers say the edge does not stay sharp for long. This is not a carbide grout kit.

Is sanding included with LEILUO 158-piece kit?

A sanding pad is in the highlight. One UK reviewer had to keep reseating the sheet because the hook-and-loop slipped.

AMZWEI 156-piece kit

Rank 5

AMZWEI 156-piece kit

∼£24

Our view

AMZWEI JP084 is £23.74, 4.5 from 793, 1.05 kg, made in China. The bullet lists ten blade types, two sanding pads and 120 sandpapers, and a tool-free quick release. The same listing warns that the HCS blades are not for screws and bolts. UK reviews like the variety and report fits on Ryobi and Parkside. One buyer said the titanium blades dulled quickly on nails. Starlock is not clearly excluded, and it is not clearly included.

Pros

  • Pads and 120 sheets in the bullet
  • Plain warning against screws and bolts
  • 4.5 from 793
  • UK fit notes for Ryobi and Parkside

Cons

  • Metal-cutting share of the kit is small, and buyers noticed
  • Nail-dulling reported
  • 95 percent fit is a claim
  • Starlock not settled in the text

Best for: A mixed wood, plastic and light sanding box for a non-Starlock tool such as a Ryobi or Parkside

Less suitable: Someone who needs many metal blades, or a confirmed Starlock tool

Common questions

Does the AMZWEI 156-piece kit listing fit Starlock?

Not excluded by name. Bosch and Fein are in the compatible sentence, which is not the same as a Starlock fit.

Can this listing cut screws or hard metal?

No for screws and bolts. The warm tip says the HCS blades are not suitable for that.

Is sanding included with AMZWEI 156-piece kit?

Yes. Two sanding pads and 120 sandpapers are in the bullet.

Meff-Mluk 50-piece blades

Rank 6

Meff-Mluk 50-piece blades

∼£24

Our view

Meff-Mluk's 50-piece listing is £23.79 with 4.5 from 658 UK-page reviews, model 2400027001, 1.14 kg. The bullets claim a titanium-carbide layer that raises hardness by more than 50 percent and doubles life. That multiple is the seller's sentence. UK reviewers praise wood and plastic cuts and the quantity, and they also say the edges do not last, including about four screw heads on one blade. Two adapters are included. Starlock is not excluded in the text read, and it is not proved either.

Pros

  • 4.5 from 658 on amazon.co.uk
  • Wood and plastic cuts praised in UK reviews
  • 2 adapters stated
  • Best-sellers rank 6 in Oscillating Tool Accessories on the listing

Cons

  • Seller life and hardness multiples are not a test
  • UK reviews report a short life on screws
  • No sanding kit in the included line
  • 95 percent compatibility is a claim

Best for: Wood and plastic on a tool that accepts a universal blade, if you treat the tooth as a consumable

Less suitable: Repeated screw cutting, or a buyer who wants a proved Starlock fit

Common questions

Does the Meff-Mluk 50-piece blades listing fit Starlock?

Not excluded in the bullets, and not confirmed. The 95 percent line is a claim.

Can this listing cut screws or hard metal?

The title says metal cutting. A UK reviewer reported about four screw heads before the blade was blunt, and another said they do not last long on metal.

Is sanding included with Meff-Mluk 50-piece blades?

No sanding pad is in the included components.

LEILUO 155-piece kit

Rank 7

LEILUO 155-piece kit

∼£23

Our view

LEILUO TL112N is £22.99, 4.5 from 455, and the listing's best-seller line says number 1 in Oscillating Tool Accessories and in oscillating sanding pads. Materials named include carbide, and the bullets specify three carbide types for grout plus a corner sanding pad and a bag. Starlock is excluded and a Dremel adapter is included. UK reviews cover a door post, a DeWalt, and an Enventor that needed the ring. They also say the metal blade is done after one or two screws, and that the wood blades are not as sharp as a DeWalt original.

Pros

  • Carbide grout pieces are actually named
  • Rank 1 line on this amazon.co.uk listing
  • Bag and several grits
  • Starlock exclusion is explicit

Cons

  • Not Starlock
  • Screw-cutting life is short in UK reviews
  • Not as sharp as a buyer's DeWalt blade
  • One comment of 112 pieces against a 155 title

Best for: Grout and corner sanding on a DeWalt, Ryobi or similar non-Starlock tool

Less suitable: A Starlock tool, or screw cutting with the metal tooth

Common questions

Does the LEILUO 155-piece kit listing fit Starlock?

No. Starlock, StarlockPlus and StarlockMax are excluded.

Can this listing cut screws or hard metal?

Carbide is described for grout, not as a screw-proof saw. One UK metal blade died after one or two wood screws.

Is sanding included with LEILUO 155-piece kit?

Yes. The bullets describe a pad for corners and several grits, plus carbide for grout.

EzKamfort 138-piece kit

Rank 8

EzKamfort 138-piece kit

∼£25

Our view

EzKamfort's 138-piece listing is £24.99, 4.5 from 181, 1.13 kg. Bullets claim a titanium-carbide coating that more than doubles life, name high-carbon and high-speed steel, and say the blades are not for screws and bolts. UK reviewers praise wood, plastic and the sanding sheets, and one Fatmax owner confirmed a fit the brand list had skipped. One UK review says four blades shattered at the fixing base in soft wood. That is one report, and it is the safety signal on this ASIN. The included-components cell says No.

Pros

  • 4.5 from 181
  • Screw-and-bolt limit printed
  • Sanding sheets praised for tight spaces
  • Stated fit is not limited to the brands in the bullet, on one Fatmax review

Cons

  • Mount breakage reported on soft wood
  • Life-doubling sentence is a claim
  • Included-components cell contradicts the title
  • 98 percent compatibility is a claim

Best for: A buyer who wants sanding sheets with blades and will check the mount before leaning on the tool

Less suitable: Anyone who needs a clean contents list, or who cannot accept a reported snap at the base

Common questions

Not stated.

No for screws and bolts. The bullet says not suitable.

Sanding accessories are in the bullets, and UK reviewers mention pads and grit sizes. The included-components cell says No, so the contents line is inconsistent.

Vtopmart 114-piece kit

Rank 9

Vtopmart 114-piece kit

∼£21

Our view

Vtopmart GVM01003 is the best-value pick on the rule used here: £20.99 is the lowest shelf price among mixed blade-and-sanding kits in this set with at least 400 reviews, at 4.4 from 854, rank 2 in Oscillating Tool Accessories. The bullet gives 114 pieces, eight blade types, a sand tray, sandpaper and three adapters, and it excludes Bosch MX30. UK reviews praise the range against branded blades. They also report half-round blades that would not mount on a DeWalt, short-lived sheets, and one buyer who snapped four or five blades.

Pros

  • £20.99 with 854 reviews
  • Three adapters and a sand tray stated
  • Rank 2 on the listing
  • Buyers compare it favourably with dearer branded blades on price

Cons

  • 4.4 is below the 4.5 cluster
  • Half-round fit failed on one DeWalt
  • Sheets wear quickly
  • Snaps reported, with the buyer staying because of the price

Best for: A mixed DIY box when the tool is not an MX30 and you can spare a blade that dies

Less suitable: A DeWalt owner who specifically needs the half-round pieces, or a Starlock tool you have not checked

Common questions

Does the Vtopmart 114-piece kit listing fit Starlock?

Not clearly. MX30 is the named exclusion. Fein and Bosch appear in the compatible line without a Starlock ban.

Can this listing cut screws or hard metal?

The bullet includes metal. It does not repeat the screw-and-bolt ban some other kits print.

Is sanding included with Vtopmart 114-piece kit?

Yes. A sand tray and sandpaper are in the bullet. Reviewers say the sheets do not last long.

JOEJONI 134-piece kit

Rank 10

JOEJONI 134-piece kit

∼£21

Our view

JOEJONI 2210192-134 is £20.99, 4.4 from 104, 950 g. It is the listing that prints both a long compatible-model list and a long incompatible list, including Bosch Starlock GOP and PMF models, Fein Starlock MultiMasters and Makita DTM52. UK reviews confirm a Silverline and a Ryobi, and they reject it for rusted screws. One review says the clamp had nothing to bite and pieces were thrown. That report is why this kit is not a casual recommendation even at £20.99.

Pros

  • Model-level exclusion list instead of only a logo
  • £20.99 with sanding pads stated
  • UK fits on Silverline and Ryobi
  • Scraper mentioned by a buyer

Cons

  • A thrown-blade report
  • Screws blunt and break the teeth
  • Dremel and Bosch quick-release excluded
  • 4.4 is the joint-lower mixed-kit star line with Vtopmart

Best for: An older or budget non-Starlock tool whose model is on the compatible list, for wood and plastic

Less suitable: Starlock tools, Dremel quick-release, or anyone unsettled by the clamp report

Common questions

Does the JOEJONI 134-piece kit listing fit Starlock?

No for the Starlock models the bullet lists, including current GOP and PMF bodies and Makita DTM52.

Can this listing cut screws or hard metal?

The title says metal and wood. A UK reviewer blunted and broke blades on rusted screws and said they are for wood.

Is sanding included with JOEJONI 134-piece kit?

Yes. Sanding pads and sandpaper are in the bullets, and a UK reviewer mentions sanding discs and a scraper.

TMZDCJK 104-piece sanding kit

Rank 11

TMZDCJK 104-piece sanding kit

∼£14

Our view

TMZDCJK's sanding kit is £13.99, 4.2 from 61, 280 g, from China. The bullet is 2 triangle pads, 2 finger pads and 100 sheets, with 60 and 80 grit for rough wood and 240 for a finish. It is not a blade assortment. UK reviewers want it for awkward corners, and several say the larger triangle does not fit a DeWalt and that the hook-and-loop lets go. Material cells disagree with each other: aluminium oxide, silicon carbide, film and carbon steel all appear. Show that conflict rather than picking one.

Pros

  • Lowest price in the set
  • Grit advice is printed on the listing
  • Finger pads as well as triangles
  • Corner sanding is the job buyers describe

Cons

  • Large pad and DeWalt do not agree, in several UK reviews
  • Sheets called thin and quick to clog
  • Material cells contradict
  • No cutting blades

Best for: Detail sanding on a tool you have already checked for the triangle

Less suitable: A DeWalt head that rejects the large pad, or any cutting job

Common questions

The compatible-material cell includes metal, as a surface to sand, not as a cutting claim.

Is sanding included with TMZDCJK 104-piece sanding kit?

Yes. Grit guidance on the listing: 60 and 80 for rough wood, 100 and 120 for general wood, 240 for a final pass on wood and plaster.

ICF Conduit Scoop 20 mm

Rank 12

ICF Conduit Scoop 20 mm

∼£50

Our view

AW001 from AWBH Limited is £49.99, 4.0 from 20, 130 g, one stainless scoop with 18 teeth per inch and a clear case. The listing is for a 20 mm round channel in ICF foam, kept square, on a universal head. UK reviewers confirm DeWalt and Makita fits and clean foam or PIR channels. They also report strong vibration at higher speed, a first-use break in thermalite block, and a scoop that split from its bracket. It does not belong in a blade-kit ranking.

Pros

  • Does the 20 mm foam channel the listing describes
  • Fits DeWalt and Makita in UK reviews
  • Case included
  • Clearer than scraping the channel by hand, on those reviews

Cons

  • £49.99 for one consumable
  • Vibration complaints are common in the saved listing
  • Breakage when used on block
  • Lowest star line in the set

Best for: Cutting 20 mm conduit channels in ICF foam, at modest speed

Less suitable: A general blade kit, masonry chasing, or a buyer who wants a quiet tool

Common questions

Does the ICF Conduit Scoop 20 mm listing fit Starlock?

Can this listing cut screws or hard metal?

No. Stainless 18 TPI for foam. A buyer who chased thermalite blocks broke it on first use.

Is sanding included with ICF Conduit Scoop 20 mm?

No. This is a 20 mm channel scoop, not a pad.

How we compared

Twelve amazon.co.uk listings were read for this comparison, using the figures saved on 22 October 2026. This is not a lab test. The top pick is the highest star line with at least 100 reviews. The best value is the lowest shelf price among mixed blade-and-sanding kits with at least 400 reviews. The weights follow the buying order: mount, then material, then the shapes you will use, then the clamp, then price against one original blade once the mount matches.

High-carbon steel for wood, plastic and plasterboard. Bi-metal when nails are likely. Carbide for grout. A gold colour is not proof of bi-metal, and a doubled-life sentence is seller copy.

Shapes you will use

20%

A mixed kit is not many copies of one plunge width. Titles and set-name cells can disagree. Sanding sheets and a foam scoop are different products from a saw tooth.

Adapter rings help some older heads. They do not make a Starlock blade. With the power isolated, tug the blade. A clamp with nothing to hold can throw a piece.

Price after the mount matches

10%

Compare a pack with one original blade only after the head will take it. One Starlock high-carbon blade can cost more than a whole universal set, and it is the sensible buy when the tool will not take the set.

Multi tool accessories buying guide

Read the mount, then the material, then the shapes you will use. Piece count and price come after the head will actually hold the blade. The notes below follow that order. They are not a lab test. A Starlock tool should leave these universal packs.

What are multi tool accessories?

Multi tool accessories are consumables for an oscillating multi-tool: blade kits, sanding pads, and the occasional specialist shape such as a 20 mm foam scoop. The UK buyer usually already owns the tool and is choosing the edge, not a second power tool. The mount comes before the tooth, and the tooth comes before the piece count. A universal slotted pack does not fit Starlock, StarlockPlus or StarlockMax just because a bullet names a brand. Nothing here was lab-tested.

Best for

  • A non-Starlock tool that needs spare teeth for wood and PVC
  • A mixed kit when you also sand and the mount matches

Not ideal for

  • Starlock, StarlockPlus or StarlockMax tools
  • Screw and bolt cutting with high-carbon steel

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Buying on piece count

A high number can be many copies of one plunge width, or a title that does not match the set-name cell. One listing prints 158 and 116. Count the shapes you will use when the box arrives.

  2. 2

    Trusting a fits-Bosch line

A brand name in a bullet is not a Starlock fit. Starlock, StarlockPlus and StarlockMax need the exclusion line. Adapter rings help some older heads. They do not convert a universal blade.

  3. 3

    Cutting screws with high-carbon steel

Listings say that tooth is not for screws and bolts. UK reviews in this set report a short life when buyers try. Use bi-metal only where nails are likely, and carbide where the listing names grout.

What to weigh up

Mount

High

The mount is the first check because a wrong interface wastes the whole pack. Name the head before you read the tooth: Starlock, StarlockPlus, StarlockMax, an older pin mount, or a budget quick-release. Then read the exclusion line. A universal slotted pack does not fit Starlock, StarlockPlus or StarlockMax because a bullet names a familiar brand. Some listings exclude those families in plain text and still name older bodies they do accept. Others print a percentage fit.

Material

High

High-carbon steel is for wood, plastic and plasterboard. Listings in this category say that tooth is not for screws and bolts. UK sellers point to bi-metal when nails are likely, and to carbide for grout. A gold colour is not proof of bi-metal. A line that a coating lasts twice as long, or raises hardness by a stated multiple, is a seller sentence, not a test. Do not treat it as a doubled blade life. Grout is a carbide job. A titanium coating on a wood tooth is not a grout rasp.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Spare teeth for skirting and PVC

You already own a non-Starlock multi-tool and you want spare teeth for skirting and PVC. The Coselena 22-piece blades are about £9.95, with 4.6 from 231 reviews, three adapters, and a printed limit against screws and bolts. It is a small set, not a sanding kit.

Grout on a non-Starlock tool

You will meet grout and you need the listing to name carbide. The LEILUO 155-piece kit states three carbide types for grout, a sanding pad and a storage bag, at about £22.99 with 4.5 from 455 reviews. It excludes Starlock, and UK reviews say screw-cutting life is short.

A mixed kit at the lower price

You want blades and sanding sheets on a non-Starlock tool and you are comparing mixed kits by price. The Vtopmart 114-piece kit is about £20.99 with 4.4 from 854 reviews, three adapters and a sand tray. It does not exclude Starlock as a family. The bullet says it does not fit the Bosch MX30.

Common questions about multi tool accessories

What should you check first on multi tool accessories?
Check the mount before the tooth, and the tooth before the piece count. Identify Starlock, StarlockPlus, StarlockMax, an older pin mount, or a budget quick-release, then read the exclusion line. A universal slotted pack does not fit Starlock because a bullet names a familiar brand. High-carbon steel is for wood, plastic and plasterboard. Bi-metal is the usual suggestion when nails are likely, and carbide is for grout. A gold colour is not proof of bi-metal.
Will a universal pack fit a Starlock multi-tool?
No. Starlock, StarlockPlus and StarlockMax do not take a universal slotted blade. Adapter rings help some older heads. They do not make a Starlock blade. Several packs in this set say they are not compatible with Starlock and name Bosch and Fein. Others do not print an exclusion, which is not the same as a confirmed fit. If the head is Starlock, start from the Bosch multi tool comparison and buy a blade that head accepts.
Which tooth should you use for wood, nails and grout?
High-carbon steel is for wood, plastic and plasterboard, and listings here say it is not for screws and bolts. UK guidance points to bi-metal when nails are likely, and to carbide for grout. A titanium coating on a wood tooth is not a grout rasp. A gold colour is not proof of bi-metal. A seller line that a coating lasts twice as long is not a test. Match the material the listing names to the job you actually have.
How much do multi tool accessories cost on amazon.co.uk?
In this amazon.co.uk set the small blade set is £9.95 and the sanding-only kit is £13.99. Mixed kits sit at £20.99 to £24.99. The 57-piece plunge pack is £28.90. The foam scoop is £49.99 and is not a kit. A UK guide's rule of thumb puts packs of about 10 to 20 blades around £5 to £15. Those are that guide's figures, not a median of these twelve. Compare a pack with one original blade only after the mount matches.
Is a high piece count the same as a mixed kit?
No. A mixed kit is not many copies of one plunge width. A title can suggest variety while reviews describe one size. One listing prints 158 pieces on the title and 116 on the set name, and a reviewer counted 116. Count the pieces when the box arrives, and check that the shapes are ones you will use. Buying on the number alone is the usual miss.
What mistakes waste a multi tool accessory pack?
Buying on piece count, trusting a “fits Bosch” line, and cutting screws with high-carbon steel. A large sanding triangle does not fit every DeWalt head. The foam scoop is for foam, not block. A 95 percent fit, or a doubled blade life, is seller copy, not a result you can rely on. Read the exclusion line, then the tooth, then the shapes you will actually use.
Do these listings state vibration or noise?
No listing in this set prints a vibration number or a decibel figure, so the box cannot be turned into an exposure. For employers, the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 set an action value of 2.5 m/s² A(8) and a limit of 5 m/s² A(8). Noise action values are 80 dB(A) and 85 dB(A), with a limit of 87 dB(A). Householders are outside those employer duties. A blunt blade still lengthens trigger time, and a loose blade is a projectile.
When should you stop and get a competent person?
Stop when the cut may hit a cable or a pipe, when the job is a long masonry chase, when an employer has no vibration or noise data for daily use, or when a blade has already left the tool. Change blades with the cord out or the battery off, and tug the blade before you start. For wood dust, use on-tool H-class or M-class extraction and, for most sanding, respiratory protection at APF 20.

Our verdict

The top pick is the Coselena 22-piece blades at about £9.95. It has the highest amazon.co.uk star line in this set with at least 100 reviews, 4.6 from 231, and three adapters for wood, plastic and PVC on a non-Starlock tool. It is not a sanding kit, and UK reviews say the metal blades wear quickly. The best value is the Vtopmart 114-piece kit at about £20.99, 4.4 from 854, the lowest price among mixed blade-and-sanding kits with at least 400 reviews. Sheets wear quickly, and Starlock is not excluded as a family. Neither award is a lab test. A Starlock tool should leave these universal packs.
