An awning is a cover you fix over a door, a window or the side of a vehicle so rain and sun stay off that opening. On amazon.co.uk the same word covers more than one job. UK buyers usually want a dry front door, cooler glass, or a room beside a van, and those jobs do not share one shape. A fixed sheet sits in wall brackets. A fabric shade rolls away on a crank or drops as a screen. A vehicle porch clips to a rail and stands on poles. Judge width and projection, whether you may drill, and the rain or wind line on the page. Thickness, fabric weight and a millimetre head are claims you can point at. Waterproof with no millimetre figure is the seller's word. Do not invent a wind class. A lease can still forbid a pressure pole. In England, Class D limits a porch by area, height and distance from a highway, and it is not a pass for flats. The split between door, fabric and van is in the [awning buying guide](/hub/sun-shades/awning/sub/awning-buying-guide).

The best awnings in detail

VOUNOT door canopy 200 x 80 cm, grey

Rank 1

VOUNOT door canopy 200 x 80 cm, grey

∼£42

Our view

The grey VOUNOT canopy is listed at 200 × 80 cm, 4.3 kg and about £42.49, and the 4.4 from 5,433 line is also printed on the anthracite 200 cm and black 100 cm files. The shared texts do describe the longer two-panel build: a centre joint that pops apart, panels that fall out or sag, and a bar one buyer found 5 mm out. Several reviewers scrapped the supplied bolts, one said a stated 12 mm drill bit left too large a hole, and two people comes up often. Praise is for a light cover that keeps rain off a front door, and one reviewer cut the sheet to clear drainpipes. A gale-force story in the same block is one anecdote, not a wind class, and the listing still has only a general shelter claim. It is the cheaper of the two 200 cm colours when you have help for a wide opening, and it is the wrong read if you treat 5,433 as a test of this grey panel alone. The score of 86 sits under the 120 cm top pick because the job scored first is a single door.

Pros

  • 200 × 80 cm, grey, with 4.3 kg stated
  • 6 mm polycarbonate and 6 screw sets at about £42.49
  • Cheaper than the anthracite 200 cm listing
  • Reviewers use it as a rain cover and some trim it around pipes

Cons

  • 4.4 from 5,433 is shared with two other sizes
  • Centre joint, sag and loose panels recur in that text
  • Supplied bolts and a large drill size are common complaints
  • No wind class

Best for: A door or window nearer 2 m wide, when you have a second person and a wall that will take proper plugs.

Less suitable: A narrow single door, a one-person fit, or anyone reading 5,433 as proof of this grey panel alone.

Common questions

How wide is the grey canopy?

The title and the bullet both say 200 cm by 80 cm, and the bullet lists 4.3 kg.

Is the 4.4 rating only for this grey size?

The same 4.4 from 5,433 line is printed on the anthracite 200 cm and the black 100 cm listings. It is a shared count.

Does it state a wind class?

No wind class is printed.

VOUNOT door canopy 100 x 80 cm, black

Rank 2

VOUNOT door canopy 100 x 80 cm, black

∼£29

Our view

The black 100 × 80 cm VOUNOT is the lowest shelf price here, at about £29.49, with 3.5 kg stated and 4 screw sets rather than 6. The 4.4 from 5,433 line is the same figure as the 200 cm listings, and the review block is shared, so centre-joint complaints about the longer panels are not evidence about this shorter sheet and the stars are not a clean test of the 100 cm width. Praise in the pool is for a light rain cover at a low price, while loose panels and swapped fixings appear without a note of which size the writer bought. A 100 cm width can be tight once you add the frame and the brackets on a typical UK door, and there is no wind class. It is the best value when you have taped a narrow opening and you want the cheapest 6 mm canopy in the table. It is a weak buy if you are treating those 5,433 reviews as belonging only to this listing. The score of 80 is that price, with the shared-count limit.

Pros

  • About £29.49, the lowest price in this comparison
  • 100 × 80 cm, black, 3.5 kg stated
  • 4 screw sets and 4 plastic hats, matching the shorter width
  • 6 mm polycarbonate on an aluminium and ABS frame

Cons

  • 4.4 from 5,433 is shared with the 200 cm listings
  • 100 cm may be tight on a wide door frame
  • Only 4 fixing sets, and reviews are not size-specific
  • No wind class

Best for: A narrow door or window you have taped at under 100 cm including the overhang you need.

Less suitable: A standard wide frame, or a shopper treating the shared 5,433 reviews as a test of this size.

Common questions

How many screw sets does the 100 cm canopy include?

The bullet says 4 screw sets and 4 plastic hats. The 120 cm and 200 cm listings say 6.

What is the listed weight?

3.5 kg, with size 100 cm by 80 cm.

Is the star count unique to this size?

No. The listing prints 4.4 from 5,433, the same line as the 200 cm grey and anthracite files.

VOUNOT door canopy 200 x 80 cm, anthracite

Rank 3

VOUNOT door canopy 200 x 80 cm, anthracite

∼£55

Our view

The anthracite VOUNOT is the same 200 × 80 cm and 4.3 kg claim as the grey listing, at about £55.24, with the same 4.4 from 5,433 review text. Those reviews describe a light rain cover once the two halves are together, and the same centre joint, sag, loose panels and rejected packet bolts. Six screw sets are listed, the page does not say how long assembly takes, and there is still no wind class. The best-sellers line files it under DIY & Tools while the grey file sits under Home & Kitchen, which is a catalogue difference rather than a stronger sheet. You are paying more than about £42.49 for the colour name on a shared review block. Take it when anthracite is the point, and leave it if grey is the same size you measured. The score of 78 is that extra price, not a separate review sample.

Pros

  • Anthracite 200 × 80 cm with 4.3 kg stated
  • 6 mm polycarbonate and 6 screw sets
  • Same shared review themes as the grey 200 cm canopy

Cons

  • About £55.24 against about £42.49 for the grey listing of the same size claim
  • Review count is not unique to this colour
  • Centre joint and fixings are the repeated complaints
  • No wind class

Best for: A 2 m opening where you specifically want the anthracite finish and can fit it with a second person.

Less suitable: Anyone who would accept grey at the lower shelf price, or a door that 120 cm already covers.

Common questions

What colour and weight does the listing give?

Anthracite, 200 x 80 cm, 4.3 kg.

Why is it ranked under DIY & Tools?

The raw best-sellers line places it at 4,673 in DIY & Tools and 1 in Roofing Canopies. The grey 200 cm listing is filed under Home & Kitchen instead.

Are the screws the same as the 100 cm model?

This listing says 6 screw sets. The 100 x 80 cm listing says 4.

VOUNOT telescopic awning 3 x 1.2 m

Rank 4

VOUNOT telescopic awning 3 x 1.2 m

∼£70

Our view

The grey VOUNOT telescopic awning is titled 3 × 1.2 m at about £69.99, with 180 gsm polyester, a steel frame and a hand crank, while a bullet also prints 200/250/300 cm by 120 cm and the image URL matches the 2.5 m listing. The 4.3 from 965 reviews is that shared block, mostly from the United Kingdom, and reviewers often describe a cooler room once the cloth is over the glass. They also say two people are needed to lift it, that it should be wound in when the wind picks up, and that some plastic parts are the worry if it stays out all year. One UK review says it does not suit a Willerby static caravan. Poles are listed at 210–320 cm with a 210 cm minimum and no drilling claimed, and there is no wind class or hydrostatic head behind the waterproof wording. Open the 3 m title only when your tape says 3 m and the soffit is at least 210 cm, and leave the bullet's three widths unresolved. The score of 83 is that crank-and-retract habit, cut for the width clash.

Pros

  • Title width 3 m and projection 1.2 m at about £69.99
  • Poles 210–320 cm, minimum height 210 cm, no drill claimed
  • 4.3 from 965 in a mostly UK shared review block
  • Reviewers report less heat at the window and a workable crank

Cons

  • Bullet also lists 200/250/300 cm, and the image matches the 2.5 m listing
  • No wind class, and waterproof has no millimetre figure
  • UK reviews want a second person and say to wind it in
  • One review says it failed on a Willerby static caravan

Best for: A window or balcony with at least 210 cm of height, when the title's 3 m is the width you measured.

Less suitable: A ceiling under 210 cm, a static caravan you have not checked, or a door that only needs an 80 cm fixed lid.

Common questions

Do you drill this telescopic awning into the wall?

The listing says no drilling. It stands between ceiling and floor on poles from 210 to 320 cm, with a minimum height of 210 cm.

Which width is the product?

The title says 3 x 1.2 m. A bullet also prints 200/250/300 cm by 120 cm. Both lines are on the listing.

Is a wind class given?

No. Reviews in the file say people wind it in when the wind picks up. That is not a class.

VOUNOT telescopic awning 2.5 x 1.2 m

Rank 5

VOUNOT telescopic awning 2.5 x 1.2 m

∼£65

Our view

This grey VOUNOT is titled 2.5 × 1.2 m at about £64.99, with the same 180 gsm polyester, steel poles from 210 to 320 cm and 210 cm minimum as the 3 m file. The bullet still prints 200/250/300 cm by 120 cm, the image URL is the same, and the 4.3 from 965 reviews are the same UK texts about window heat, a two-person lift and winding the cloth in for stronger wind. Those reviews do not separate a 2.5 m fault from a 3 m fault, and a static-caravan mismatch in the block is one report rather than a ban on every van. Assembly is marked required, the seller says no drilling, and the crank length is not stated. At £5 less than the 3 m title you are buying a different title on a shared listing pattern, not a proven narrower mechanism. Order it when 2.5 m is the opening you measured and the page's three widths do not bother you. The score of 82 stays a point under the 3 m title.

Pros

  • Title says 2.5 × 1.2 m at about £64.99, £5 under the 3 m title
  • No drill claimed, poles 210–320 cm
  • Same UK review themes: cooler glass, crank, retract in wind

Cons

  • Width bullet and image URL match the 3 m listing
  • Star count is not unique to 2.5 m
  • Waterproof wording has no millimetre figure and no wind class
  • Two-person lift in the shared reviews

Best for: A measured 2.5 m span with at least 210 cm of floor-to-ceiling height and a second person to lift it.

Less suitable: You need the page to show one width only, or a ceiling below 210 cm.

Common questions

How does this differ from the 3 m telescopic listing?

The title says 2.5 x 1.2 m and the price is about £64.99. The bullet size line, image URL and 4.3 from 965 reviews match the 3 m file.

Is assembly required?

Yes. The page field says assembly is required, and the bullets say no drilling.

What fabric weight is stated?

180 gsm polyester. No hydrostatic head is stated.

VOUNOT vertical awning 200 x 310 cm

Rank 6

VOUNOT vertical awning 200 x 310 cm

∼£55

Our view

The anthracite VOUNOT vertical awning is titled 200 × 310 cm at about £54.92, with a telescopic pole from 220 to 310 cm and a base adjustment of up to 3 cm. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.3 from 165 reviews, and the first texts in the file are mostly from outside the United Kingdom, so this is not a UK balcony sample. Those writers say it cuts sun and adds privacy once two people stand the pressure fit up, while one says the crank is too short to use safely from an upper balcony and another calls the fit unstable. The bullet claims light rain and UV protection for 180 gsm polyester with a PU coating, with no hydrostatic head and no wind class. The seller aims it at rented balconies because drilling is not required, though a lease can still forbid a pole. Use it as a drop-down screen inside 220–310 cm, and do not read the 165 reviews as British reports. The score of 76 is cut for that review limit and the light-rain line.

Pros

  • No-drill pressure fit claimed for 220–310 cm
  • Hand crank and a privacy-screen claim
  • 180 gsm polyester with PU coating at about £54.92

Cons

  • Review extract is mostly not from the United Kingdom
  • Light rain only, and no wind class
  • One review says the crank is too short on an upper balcony
  • Two people to place it, and one calls the fit unstable

Best for: A balcony or terrace gap between 220 and 310 cm where you want shade and privacy without drilling.

Less suitable: An upper balcony you would have to crank from a rail, a ceiling under 220 cm, or a door that needs a fixed rain lid.

Common questions

Do you drill the wall?

The listing says a telescopic pressure fit with no drilling and no tools, for a height of 220 to 310 cm.

With the hand crank. The crank length is not stated.

What rain protection is claimed?

The bullet says light rain and UV protection. It does not give a hydrostatic head or a wind class.

VIVOHOME window canopy 300 x 100 cm

Rank 7

VIVOHOME window canopy 300 x 100 cm

∼£105

Our view

The VIVOHOME kit is a transparent 300 × 100 cm canopy sold as three pieces at about £105.39, with 4.2 from 4,649 reviews and a bullet that says 2 × 5 mm polycarbonate, ABS brackets and a stated panel load of 13.6 kg, which is a load claim rather than the product weight. The seller recommends two people, and one review describes a 3 m install finished in about 2.5 hours, while other texts call the sheet thin, say the arms were plastic, and report that a 12 mm drill instruction made too big a hole. Panels falling out sit beside buyers who liked the fixings and the rain cover, and one review says the brackets differed between a 2 m and a 3 m bought together. Joint bars are called leak-proof with no millimetre figure, there is no wind class, and the page does not say it fits every door. It is the wide lid when the opening is near 3 m and you can spare two people. It is not a quick single-door canopy you fit alone. The score of 81 stays under the smaller door canopies because of the thin-sheet comments and the two-person fit.

Pros

  • 300 × 100 cm, three pieces, at a stated 2 × 5 mm sheet
  • 4.2 from 4,649 reviews, a large amazon.co.uk count
  • Seller names two people and says to recheck fittings
  • One review reports a 3 m fit in about 2.5 hours

Cons

  • Reviews call the polycarbonate thin and the arms plastic
  • A 12 mm drill note left too large a hole for one buyer
  • About £105.39 is well above the 80 cm door canopies
  • No wind class, and it does not claim to fit every door

Best for: A door plus side window, or a span near 3 m, when two people can fit a multi-panel sheet.

Less suitable: A single door that 120 cm already covers, or a fit you hoped to do alone in an hour.

VOUNOT door canopy 120 x 80 cm, black

Rank 8

VOUNOT door canopy 120 x 80 cm, black

∼£33

Our view

The black VOUNOT door canopy is listed at 120 × 80 cm and about £33.49, with 4.2 from 2,654 reviews that this file shares with the uncoloured 120 cm listing. Reviewers in that block often say the light sheet keeps rain off a door once it is up, and that one person can hold it to the wall. The same texts call feeding the sheet into the bracket fiddly, and the supplied anchor bolts come up as too long or as something buyers replaced with their own plugs and screws, with kinked rubber seals in the packet. The page names the colour as black and the operation as manual, which on a fixed sheet means there is no crank, and it states neither a weight nor a wind class. It is the top pick here for a single door when you want that colour written down at the same price as the uncoloured twin. It is a poor match for a 2 m opening or a wall you cannot drill. The score of 88 is that single-door job, not a laboratory rain test.

Pros

  • 120 × 80 cm with the colour stated as black
  • 6 mm polycarbonate, aluminium and ABS, with 6 screw sets
  • 4.2 from 2,654 on the shared 120 cm review line
  • Same about £33.49 shelf price as the uncoloured 120 cm listing

Cons

  • Star count is shared with the uncoloured 120 cm listing
  • Supplied bolts are often replaced, and seals can arrive kinked
  • No wind class and no listed weight
  • Feeding the sheet into the bracket is fiddly in reviews

Best for: A single front door where about 120 cm covers the frame and you can drill a wall you have identified.

Less suitable: A 2 m opening, a cavity wall you have not named, or a balcony where you must not drill.

Common questions

How is the black 120 cm canopy different from the uncoloured 120 cm listing?

This listing names the colour as black and the operation mode as manual. Size, price and the 4.2 from 2,654 line match the other 120 cm file.

What fixings are in the box?

The bullets list instructions, 6 screw sets and 6 plastic hats.

Does the listing give a weight?

VOUNOT door canopy 120 x 80 cm

Rank 9

VOUNOT door canopy 120 x 80 cm

∼£33

Our view

This VOUNOT canopy is the 120 × 80 cm listing at about £33.49 whose colour and weight are not stated, with the same 4.2 from 2,654 review block as the black twin, including comments that also discuss the longer two-panel sizes. Buyers praise a light sheet that covers a door from rain after a fiddly assembly, and they complain that there is no drilling template, that rubber seals arrived warped, and that the packet bolts failed in the hole. Six screw sets are in the bullets, assembly is marked required, and the shelter line has no millimetre figure and no wind class. The raw rank is 2,310 in Home & Kitchen and 1 in Window Awnings & Canopies, which is Amazon's list rather than a wind test. Choose it when 120 cm matches the frame you measured and the photo is enough colour information. Skip it if you need the colour in writing or a span wider than 120 cm. The score of 85 sits just under the black twin because colour and weight are unstated.

Pros

  • 120 × 80 cm at about £33.49, the same shelf price as the black twin
  • 6 mm polycarbonate with 6 screw sets and instructions
  • 4.2 from 2,654 in the shared 120 cm review block

Cons

  • Colour and weight are not stated
  • Reviews also discuss 200 cm canopies, so the count is not this size alone
  • Packet bolts and kinked seals are repeated complaints
  • No wind class

Best for: A 120 cm door or window where you have measured the frame and can live with an unstated colour.

Less suitable: You need a named colour, a listed weight, or a cover wider than 120 cm.

EVER ADVANCED campervan awning 350 cm

Rank 10

EVER ADVANCED campervan awning 350 cm

∼£180

Our view

The EVER ADVANCED awning is a vehicle porch listed at 350 × 260 × 245 cm and 11.7 kg for about £179.99, with 3.7 from 58 reviews and a stated vehicle height of 245 to 260 cm, 7.2 mm piping and a 3000 mm waterproof claim. Reviewers who liked it mention a usable room, side doors for ventilation, and a shower that stayed out if nobody touched the inside of the cloth. The same file includes roof or seam tears, thin instructions, and pegs that were not enough in wind without extras. A UK review says this is not a drive-away awning and that the kit is not in the box, and a carry bag is asked on the page and not answered. There is no wind class, and the packed size is called bulky. It is a pitched van awning for a measured height in that band, not a house canopy and not a drive-away. The score of 74 is that porch, cut for the seam tears and the missing kit.

Pros

Common questions

What vehicle height does the listing allow?

245 to 260 cm, with 7.2 mm piping and a size of 350 x 260 x 245 cm.

Is a drive-away kit included?

It is not in the included-components line. A UK review says this is not a drive-away awning and the kit is not supplied.

Does a carry bag come with it?

The page asks and the bullets do not answer. Treat the bag as not stated.

How we compared

Shelf prices, stars and review notes are the amazon.co.uk snapshot stored for these ten listings on 19 October 2026 and scored on 20 October 2026. There is no laboratory rain test and no claim that a listing was tested to BS EN 13561. None of these pages prints a wind class. The score follows the job the listing can do, whether size, weight and fixing count are stated and agree, United Kingdom review comments including shared counts, and the shelf price. The highest score is the top pick: a single-door canopy whose colour is written on the page. Best value is a different listing, the lowest shelf price, and it is not the top pick when the width is tight or the stars are borrowed from a longer canopy.

1

Job match

30%

A door canopy is not ranked against a campervan awning for the top pick. The top pick is the best single-door canopy whose colour is stated and whose star line belongs to the 120 cm review pool.

2

Size, weight and fixing

25%

A stated size, a stated weight and a fixing count that matches the width add points. A title width that disagrees with a bullet is a deduction.

3

United Kingdom review comments

25%

amazon.co.uk stars and review counts count only from the UK file. A count shared across sizes or colours is not treated as a test of each listing. Repeated complaints count: packet bolts, a centre joint on the longer canopies, a two-person lift, and seam tears on the van awning. A review extract that is mostly from outside the United Kingdom is a deduction.

4

Price and wind line

20%

GBP shelf price is the value input. The lowest price is not the top pick when the width is tight or the stars are borrowed. Missing wind class is a deduction on every row. It does not, by itself, reorder the table.

Awning buying guide

You are choosing a cover for a door, a window or the side of a van. The ten amazon.co.uk listings stored on 19 October 2026 run from about £29.49 to about £179.99. A fixed polycarbonate sheet, a telescopic cloth, a vertical roller and a vehicle porch do not share a winner. Width, whether you may drill, and a rain or wind line you can point at are the checks that change the buy. The top pick is the black 120 cm door canopy when that is the opening and the colour is stated.

What is an awning?

An awning in UK listings is not one product. The jobs that share the name are a fixed polycarbonate door or window canopy, a telescopic fabric shade, a vertical roller, and a campervan porch. A door canopy will not shade a patio, and a van awning will not bolt over a front door. Wall cassettes, with or without a motor, are a different buy.

Best for

  • A measured door or window where a fixed sheet or a roll-away shade matches the opening
  • A van whose rail height is stated on the listing, when you do not need a drive-away kit

Not ideal for

  • A patio you hoped an 80 cm door canopy would shade
  • A cassette or a motor, which none of these listings is

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

Buying 80 cm of projection for a patio

Door canopies here project 80 cm, or 100 cm on the wide window kit. That is a lid over an opening, not a patio roof. A van awning will not bolt over a front door.

  2. 2

Trusting packet anchors and a shared star count

UK canopy reviews often discard the supplied bolts for a cavity wall or timber, and ignore a drainpipe until the sheet is up. A star line shared across sizes is not a test of the colour and width on the title.

  3. 3

Calling the van model a drive-away awning

The campervan listing does not include a drive-away fitting kit, and a UK review says it is not that product. Waterproof on 180 gsm polyester is not the 3000 mm figure printed only on the van page.

What to weigh up

Job, width and fixing

High

The first check is the job. Rain over a door, a shade you can roll away, and a vehicle room do not share a winner. Measure width and projection around drainpipes and side walls before you compare prices. Door canopies in this set are 100 × 80 cm, 120 × 80 cm or 200 × 80 cm. The telescopic titles say 2.5 × 1.2 m and 3 × 1.2 m, and a bullet also prints 200/250/300 cm × 120 cm. The vertical is titled 200 × 310 cm. The window kit is 300 × 100 cm.

Sheet claim, wind and who lifts it

High

Point at a figure the page prints. Fixed canopies state 6 mm polycarbonate, or 2 × 5 mm on the wider kit. Fabric models state 180 gsm polyester. Only the campervan listing states a 3000 mm hydrostatic head. Waterproof without a millimetre figure is the seller's word, and it is not that 3000 mm claim. None of these listings prints a BS EN 13561 wind class, a motor or a cassette. On BSI's summary that standard does not rate wind resistance of non-retractable products.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Door from rain

You want a short rain lid and you will judge seals, the centre joint and the wall fixings. The black 120 × 80 cm door canopy is the top pick at about £33.49, with the colour stated and 4.2 from 2,654 shared with the uncoloured 120 cm listing. It has no wind class.

Window or balcony

You want shade you can roll away, and you still have to check the lease and the wind. The grey telescopic awning titled 3 × 1.2 m is about £69.99, with poles of 210–320 cm and no drill claimed. A bullet also prints three widths, and there is no wind class.

Campervan porch

You must match rail, height and pitch space. The vehicle awning is about £179.99, sized 350 × 260 × 245 cm for a stated van height of 245–260 cm, with a 3000 mm claim. The drive-away kit is not in the listing, and reviews are 3.7 from 58.

Common questions about awnings

What is the top awning in this 2026 comparison?
The top pick is the black VOUNOT door canopy at about £33.49. The title states 120 × 80 cm, 6 mm polycarbonate and the colour black. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.2 from 2,654, shared with the uncoloured 120 cm listing, so it is not a test of this colour alone. There is no wind class and no listed weight. It scores 88 because the job scored first is a single door with the colour written down. It is a poor match for a 2 m opening or a wall you cannot drill.
How much does an awning cost?
Shelf prices in the stored amazon.co.uk listings run from about £29.49 to about £179.99. Door canopies sit about £30–£55. Light fabric shades sit about £55–£70. The 300 cm sheet kit is about £105. The vehicle porch is about £180. Best value is the black 100 × 80 cm canopy at about £29.49, and that width can be tight on a UK door frame. Cassette prices on other amazon.co.uk pages are a different category.
Do I need planning permission for an awning in England?
Class D of the General Permitted Development Order 2015 allows a porch outside an external door of a house if the ground area is not over 3 square metres, the height is not over 3 metres, and no part is within 2 metres of a highway boundary. The Planning Portal says this is not for flats, and not where an Article 4 direction applies. Greenwich's published page still asks for an application for a new awning. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland do not use that English order. Class D does not make every awning in the UK permitted development. Ask the council before you drill a party wall or a listed frontage.
Is a shared star count a test of one size?
No. The 4.2 from 2,654 line is shared by the two 120 cm door canopies. The 4.4 from 5,433 line is printed on the grey 200 cm, the anthracite 200 cm and the black 100 cm listings. The 4.3 from 965 line is shared by the 2.5 m and 3 m telescopic titles, which also share an image URL. A shared count is not a test of one size and colour. Read the review text for the width you are buying, especially centre-joint comments on the longer canopies.
Does waterproof on 180 gsm fabric mean a 3000 mm head?
No. The telescopic listings state 180 gsm polyester and say waterproof without a millimetre figure. The vertical roller states 180 gsm polyester with a PU coating and claims light rain only. Only the campervan listing states a 3000 mm hydrostatic head. Do not copy that figure onto a door canopy or a fabric shade. None of these listings prints a BS EN 13561 wind class. Retract fabric when it is gusty.
What should I check before I buy?
Start with the job: rain over a door, a shade you can roll away, or a vehicle room. Then measure width and projection around drainpipes and side walls. Check whether you may drill. A lease can still forbid a pressure pole. Point at a sheet thickness, a gsm figure or a millimetre rain claim, and do not invent a wind class. Several UK canopy reviews discard the supplied bolts, and a wide panel often needs two people. The split between a fixed sheet and a roll-away cloth is on the buying-guide page linked above.
Are cassette awnings in this comparison?
No. None of these listings is a cassette, and none states a motor. Wall cassettes are another category. A manual or electric cassette is a different width, a different fixing and a different price band from a door canopy or a campervan porch. Compare those listings on the cassette awning page. Club sites still ask for an awning inside an awning pitch, with 6 metres between facing walls and 3 metres between awnings, which is a pitch rule and not a product score.

Our verdict

The top pick is the black VOUNOT door canopy, 120 × 80 cm, at about £33.49. It scores 88, the highest here: the colour is stated, the sheet is 6 mm polycarbonate, and the 4.2 from 2,654 line is shared only with the uncoloured 120 cm listing. No wind class, and bolt and seal complaints in that shared text, are the limit. Best value is the black 100 × 80 cm canopy at about £29.49, with 3.5 kg stated. It does not take the top pick, because 100 cm can be tight on a UK door frame and the 4.4 from 5,433 line is the 200 cm pool. The grey 200 cm canopy scores 86 and stays without a badge, because the top pick is the single-door job and the centre-joint complaints belong to the longer shared text.
