A cordless mitre saw cross-cuts timber away from a mains socket. These five amazon.co.uk listings are body only, so you still need a matching battery and charger. Einhell, DeWalt 18 V XR and Evolution do not share packs. Capacity, platform and bare-tool cost are in the [cordless mitre saw buying guide](/hub/power-saws/cordless-mitre-saw/sub/cordless-mitre-saw-buying-guide). The sliding 18 V saws are the Evolution, with a 185 mm multi-material blade, and the DCS365, a 184 mm brushed saw with an XPS shadow line. The sliding 36 V saws, which need two 18 V packs, are the Einhell 210 mm, part 4300880, and the 254 mm, part 4300885. Larger trade saws on UK retailer sites are context only, and they are not rows here.

The best cordless mitre saws in detail

DeWalt DCS365N-XJ

Rank 1

DeWalt DCS365N-XJ

∼£334

Our view

The DeWalt DCS365N-XJ, listed at £333.99, is a 12.5 kg 18 V XR sliding saw whose bullets claim 50 mm by 250 mm at 90 degrees and up to 535 cuts in 82 mm skirting on one 4 Ah pack. Across 557 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.7, all 50 stored texts are marked United Kingdom. Reviewers call it light beside a larger corded saw and use it for studwork, skirting, door facings and 12 mm laminate on an existing XR kit. Battery life on 4 Ah and 5 Ah packs was acceptable for the work those reviewers did; one found a 5 Ah pack short on thicker cuts. One UK review notes there is no blade brake, another notes there is no trenching stop, and the clamp could be better. One unit was faulty and DeWalt agreed a replacement or refund. The table lists 25.2 by 22.1 by 15.8 cm, which is not a usable size for a 12.5 kg saw. The motor is brushed, with replaceable brushes, and the listing wattage is 590 W. It is the top pick if you already own DeWalt 18 V XR batteries. Skip it if you need a trench stop or an electric brake, or if you have no XR pack.

Pros

  • 4.7 from 557 amazon.co.uk reviews, with all 50 stored texts marked United Kingdom
  • Bullets claim 50 mm by 250 mm at 90 degrees and an XPS shadow line
  • One 18 V XR pack; reviewers report 4 Ah and 5 Ah packs
  • Used as the grab-and-go saw beside a larger corded model

Cons

  • Tool only at £333.99, before a battery and charger
  • No blade brake and no trench stop in UK reviews
  • A 5 Ah pack was short on thicker cuts for one reviewer
  • The dimension field is not a usable body size

Best for: You already own DeWalt 18 V XR batteries and you want a portable slider for skirting, studs and door facings.

Less suitable: You need a trench stop or an electric brake, or you have no XR pack.

Common questions

Does the DeWalt DCS365N-XJ include a battery?

No. The title says tool only, and the included-components line is the mitre saw. It uses one DeWalt 18 V XR pack.

What cross-cut do the bullets claim?

50 mm by 250 mm at 90 degrees. They also claim up to 535 cuts in 82 mm skirting on one 4 Ah XR battery. That figure is the listing claim, not a test from this comparison.

Does this listing include a trench stop or a blade brake?

The bullets do not mention either. One UK review notes there is no trenching feature, and another notes there is no blade brake.

Einhell TE-MS 18/210 Li-Solo

Rank 2

Einhell TE-MS 18/210 Li-Solo

∼£109

Our view

The Einhell TE-MS 18/210 Li-Solo, listed at £109.49, is a 7.8 kg 18 V PXC compound saw for cross-cuts, and the bullets do not describe a slide. Across 677 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.5, with 37 of the first 50 texts marked United Kingdom, buyers describe clean cuts from the supplied 40-tooth blade and a saw they carry to the job. One UK reviewer called the laser accurate, and another found the blade square with no adjustment. It shares PXC packs; the listing recommends 2.5 Ah or higher, and one reviewer cut 4x2 when spare batteries were to hand. A UK review says the dust bag collected nothing in a week of use, and large boards and sleepers had to be rotated. The table lists a 219 mm blade while the model name says 210 mm. One UK review describes a guard fault and poor seller contact, and another delivery arrived with a damaged base. It is best value if you already own PXC batteries and the timber is narrow. Skip it if you need a stated wide cross-cut.

Pros

  • 4.5 from 677 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • 7.8 kg body listed at £109.49, with a carry handle
  • Laser and LED on the listing; one UK review called the laser accurate
  • Shares Einhell PXC packs; 2.5 Ah or higher is recommended

Cons

  • Not described as a sliding saw, and no cross-cut width is stated
  • A UK review says the dust bag collected nothing
  • One UK review describes a guard fault
  • Table says 219 mm; the model name says 210 mm

Best for: You already own Einhell PXC batteries and you are cross-cutting 4x2 and similar narrow timber.

Less suitable: You need a stated wide cross-cut, or you are cutting on site without spare packs.

Common questions

Does the Einhell TE-MS 18/210 come with a battery?

No. The bullets say the battery and charger are sold separately, and they recommend a PXC pack of 2.5 Ah or higher. The table also lists one LR44 cell.

Is the TE-MS 18/210 a sliding mitre saw?

The bullets describe a turntable, a left tilt and workpiece supports. They do not describe a slide. A stated cross-cut width is not in the raw file.

What does the listing say it cuts?

The bullets describe wood cutting with a carbide-tipped blade. The surface field is in Italian and names wood, metal and plastic. That field is not a measured material list.

Einhell TE-SM 36/210 Li-Solo

Rank 3

Einhell TE-SM 36/210 Li-Solo

∼£200

Our view

The Einhell TE-SM 36/210 Li-Solo, listed at £199.98, is a 12.6 kg sliding saw that runs on two 18 V PXC packs, and neither pack is in the box. The highlight claims 65 mm by 310 mm and a 210 mm blade. At 4.5 from 606 reviews, 20 of the first 50 texts are marked United Kingdom. A reviewer using two 3.0 Ah packs found enough power for decking and joists, and would not go smaller except for a few cuts. Reviews in that sample mention a smooth slide, a useful laser, a work light and a clamp, with most of the assembly already done. One UK review wanted 30 degrees and found the indicator nearer 35 degrees once the cut was right. The extended back plate was not completely flat for one reviewer, so the timber could move, and one battery holder is tight. The table says 144 W and a 30 cm blade; those fields conflict with the rest of the listing. It suits you if you already own two PXC packs of about 3.0 Ah. Skip it if you want a bevel scale you can trust without a square, or if you only own one pack.

Pros

  • 4.5 from 606 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Highlight claims 65 mm by 310 mm on a slide
  • Two 3.0 Ah PXC packs cut decking and joists in a UK review
  • Laser, LED, clamp and a draw function on the listing

Cons

  • Needs two 18 V packs, and neither is in the box
  • Bevel scale several degrees out in one UK review
  • Extended fence not flat in one UK review
  • Table says 144 W and a 30 cm blade

Best for: You already own two Einhell PXC packs of about 3.0 Ah and you need a wider cut than the fixed-head 18 V saw.

Less suitable: You want a bevel scale you can trust without a square, or you only own one pack.

Common questions

How many batteries does the TE-SM 36/210 need?

The title says without battery. It is a 36 V PXC saw, so it takes two 18 V Einhell packs. A UK review used two 3.0 Ah packs and would not go smaller except for a few cuts.

What cut does the highlight claim?

The item highlight says 65 mm by 310 mm and one 210 mm blade. The specification table instead says a 30 cm blade length. Use the highlight and treat 30 cm as a conflict.

Is the bevel scale reliable on this listing?

One UK review wanted 30 degrees and found the indicator several degrees short, nearer 35 degrees once the cut was right. The listing itself does not publish a calibration result.

Einhell 254 mm 36 V slider 4300885

Rank 4

Einhell 254 mm 36 V slider 4300885

∼£282

Our view

The Einhell 254 mm slider, part 4300885, listed at £281.99, claims a 340 mm cross-cut, an 85 mm thickness and a brushless motor on two 18 V PXC packs. It weighs 13.8 kg and includes a 254 mm 54-tooth blade and a dust bag, with no battery or charger. The star line is 4.5 from 56 reviews, but only three of 27 stored texts are marked United Kingdom. Those three do not describe a fault: one buyer had not used it yet, one found the set-up straightforward and existing Einhell batteries fitted, and one noted the build while saying you still need a good Einhell battery. That sample is too small to describe dust, durability or whether the bevel scale is true. The table says 120 W and lists the blade material as aluminium, which does not match a 254 mm wood blade. The highlight model string is garbled, so part 4300885 is the identifier, not the TE-SM 36/210. It is the row for the widest stated cut if you already own two PXC packs. Skip it if you want a larger set of UK reviews before you spend £281.99.

Pros

  • Bullets claim a 340 mm cross-cut and 85 mm thickness
  • Brushless on the bullets, with a 254 mm blade and a dust bag in the box
  • The three UK reviews do not describe a fault
  • Uses two Einhell PXC packs, the same layout as the smaller Einhell slider

Cons

  • Only three UK texts in a sample of 56 reviews
  • Batteries and charger sold separately
  • Table says 120 W and lists the blade material as aluminium
  • 13.8 kg, the heaviest body in this set

Best for: You already own two Einhell PXC packs and you need the widest stated cross-cut in this set.

Less suitable: You want a larger set of UK reviews before you spend £281.99, or you only cut narrow boards.

Common questions

Is this the same saw as the Einhell TE-SM 36/210?

No. This listing is part 4300885, with a 254 mm blade and a 340 mm cross-cut claim. The TE-SM 36/210 is part 4300880 and a different ASIN.

Are batteries included?

No. The title says without battery, and the bullets say you need two 18 V lithium-ion packs and a charger, sold separately.

How many UK reviews are in the raw file?

The listing shows 4.5 from 56 reviews. Of the 27 texts in the raw file, three are marked United Kingdom. Those three do not describe a fault.

Evolution R185SMS-Li

Rank 5

Evolution R185SMS-Li

∼£150

Our view

The Evolution R185SMS-Li, listed at £149.99, is a 10.1 kg sliding saw whose bullets claim a 210 mm by 58 mm cross-cut and an 80-tooth 185 mm multi-material blade. At 4.2 from 26 reviews, four of the ten stored texts are marked United Kingdom. Those reviews describe angles that were accurate out of the box, a trench one reviewer called accurate, and a shadow line used to place the blade. A 4 Ah Erbauer EXT pack from other tools fitted and worked, and one UK review says the blade stops almost as soon as the trigger is released. There is no battery and no charger in the box. The specification table says 240 V on a saw the title calls cordless, so that field is not the battery voltage. One resealed parcel showed oxidation on the cutting platform; the reviewer said the function was not affected. A couple of days of use is not a durability record. It suits you if you already own Erbauer EXT batteries and you want the compact slider this listing also claims for metal and plastic. Skip it if you want a large UK review sample, or if you do not own an EXT pack.

Pros

  • Bullets claim a 210 mm by 58 mm cross-cut
  • 185 mm 80-tooth multi-material blade, three clamps and a dust bag
  • UK reviews describe a shadow line, a soft start and a trench stop
  • A UK review fitted an Erbauer EXT 4 Ah pack

Cons

  • 4.2 from 26 reviews, with four UK texts in the stored sample
  • Battery and charger sold separately
  • The table says 240 V against a cordless title
  • One resealed unit showed oxidation on the platform

Best for: You already own Erbauer EXT batteries and you want a compact slider the listing also claims for metal and plastic.

Less suitable: You want a large UK review sample, or you do not own an EXT pack.

Common questions

Does the Evolution R185SMS-Li include a battery?

No. The bullets say the EXT lithium-ion battery is sold separately. A UK review confirms there is no battery and no charger in the box.

What cross-cut does the listing claim?

The bullets say 210 mm by 58 mm, and they say that is a greater depth than the corded R185SMS. Bevel is 0–45 degrees and mitre is 50 degrees each way.

Why does the table say 240 V?

The title and bullets describe a cordless Erbauer EXT saw. The specification table says voltage 240. Those two fields disagree, so the battery voltage is not 240 V.

How we compared

Shelf prices, stars and review counts are the amazon.co.uk listings in this comparison, captured for 19 October 2026. There is no laboratory cut. The score is 0–100 from four parts: stars, sample size, fit as a cordless mitre saw, and value in this set. The published point caps are 40, 25, 32 and 10. The percentages below are those caps scaled so the weights sum to 100. The highest score is the top pick, once: the DeWalt DCS365N-XJ at 94. Best value is the highest value-part score that is not the top pick. Three saws score 10 on value. The tie goes to the lowest body price with the larger review count, the Einhell TE-MS 18/210 at £109.49 and 4.5 from 677 reviews. Table fields of 120 W, 144 W, 240 V and a 30 cm blade are not used as fit points.

1

Amazon stars

37%

Stars are (amazon.co.uk rating / 5) × 40, rounded. A 4.7 becomes 38 points and a 4.2 becomes 34. The cap in the scoring note is 40 points.

2

Review sample

23%

500 or more reviews score 22. A listing with 50–499 reviews and fewer than five UK texts in the raw sample scores 14. A listing with 10–49 reviews scores 10. The cap in the scoring note is 25 points.

3

Fit as a cordless mitre saw

30%

Fit uses a stated cross-cut, a slide, a named battery platform, and UK reviews of real cuts. A fixed head with no stated width scores lower. A bevel scale that disagrees with the cut, or only three UK texts, keeps the fit under the maximum. The cap in the scoring note is 32 points.

4

Value in this set

10%

The lowest body price with 500 or more reviews scores 10. A mid-price slider with a large sample scores 8. The bare DeWalt at £333.99 scores 6. A thin-sample slider can still score 10 on price relative to its stated width. The value award then uses the lowest body price with the larger review count.

Cordless mitre saw buying guide

Buy the stated cross-cut and the battery platform before the shelf price. These five listings are not one cordless mitre saw. A slide buys width. A fixed head is limited by the blade. None of the boxes includes a battery, and PXC, XR and EXT packs do not fit each other. The score uses amazon.co.uk stars, the size of the review sample, how the listing fits a cordless mitre saw, and value in this set. It is not a laboratory cut.

What is a cordless mitre saw?

A cordless mitre saw cross-cuts timber away from a mains socket. The five amazon.co.uk listings stored for 19 October 2026 are all body only, from about £109.49 to about £333.99, so a charger and a matching pack sit on top of the saw price. The Einhell TE-MS 18/210 is a fixed-head 18 V compound saw, about 210 mm, 3,000 rpm, 40 teeth and 7.8 kg, and the bullets do not describe a slide.

Best for

  • Someone fitting skirting and shelves who already owns one brand of 18 V packs and can check a detent with a square
  • A mobile fitter who already runs DeWalt XR or Einhell PXC and wants the matching bare tool, plus spare packs

Not ideal for

  • A workshop employer who needs extraction and noise controls under COSHH and the Noise Regulations, which a retail dust bag does not satisfy
  • Anyone who needs one pack to run Einhell PXC, DeWalt XR and Erbauer EXT, or who expects a battery in the box

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Assuming the battery is included

Every kept listing is body only. The Einhell 18 V text recommends a PXC pack of 2.5 Ah or higher. The 36 V Einhells need two 18 V packs. The DeWalt needs one XR pack and the Evolution needs an Erbauer EXT pack. A charger and those packs are not in the stored prices. Add them before you compare a bare saw with a corded model.

  2. 2

    Mixing PXC, XR and EXT

Einhell Power X-Change, DeWalt 18 V XR and Erbauer EXT do not share packs. The cheaper saw on the wrong platform is the dearer mistake. A UK review fitted a 4 Ah EXT pack to the Evolution. That pack does not run the Einhell or the DeWalt.

  3. 3

    Trusting a conflicting specification field

Ignore 120 W, 144 W, 240 V and a 30 cm blade where those table fields disagree with the rest of the listing. The small Einhell table says 219 mm while the model name says 210 mm. A laser is not proof the fence is square. Do not cut metal on an Einhell wood blade because the Evolution listing claims a multi-material blade.

What to weigh up

Cross-cut and slide

High

The first check is the cross-cut at 90 degrees, as the listing states it. The DeWalt DCS365 bullets say 50 mm by 250 mm, and Toolstation prints that cut as 250 × 50 mm. The Evolution R185SMS-Li bullets say 210 mm by 58 mm, and they say that is a greater depth than the corded R185SMS. The 210 mm Einhell slider highlight says 65 mm by 310 mm and one 210 mm blade. The 254 mm Einhell bullets say 340 mm wide and 85 mm thick. The small Einhell TE-MS 18/210 is not sold as a slider.

Battery platform and bevel

High

Every kept listing is solo. Einhell’s 18 V text recommends a PXC pack of 2.5 Ah or higher. The 36 V Einhell saws need two 18 V packs. A UK review of the TE-SM 36/210 used two 3.0 Ah packs for decking and joists and would not go smaller except for a few cuts. The DeWalt uses one XR pack. The bullets claim up to 535 cuts in 82 mm skirting on one 4 Ah XR battery. That figure is the listing claim, not a test from this comparison. The Evolution uses Erbauer EXT, and a UK review fitted a 4 Ah pack.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Narrow timber on PXC

You already own Einhell PXC packs and the work is 4x2 and similar narrow timber. The TE-MS 18/210 at about £109.49 is the fixed-head 18 V saw, with 4.5 from 677 reviews. It is not described as a slider, and no cross-cut width is stated. The listing recommends a pack of 2.5 Ah or higher, and the battery is not in the box.

Skirting on DeWalt XR

You already own DeWalt 18 V XR packs and you want a portable slider for skirting, studs and door facings. The DCS365N-XJ at about £333.99 is the top pick, with 4.7 from 557 reviews and a stated 50 mm by 250 mm cut. It is tool only. It has no trench stop and no blade brake in the UK reviews.

Our recommendation

View offer

Wider boards on two PXC packs

You already own two Einhell PXC packs of about 3.0 Ah and you need a wider cut than the fixed-head 18 V saw. The TE-SM 36/210 at about £199.98 claims 65 mm by 310 mm, with 4.5 from 606 reviews. A UK review found the bevel scale several degrees out, so check the cut with a square. The 254 mm Einhell claims 340 mm by 85 mm if you need more width and will accept only three UK texts.

Common questions about cordless mitre saws

Which cordless mitre saw is the top pick in 2026?
The top pick is the DeWalt DCS365N-XJ, ASIN B01AI1N8T0, at about £333.99. It scores 94, the highest in this set, from 4.7 stars and 557 amazon.co.uk reviews on 19 October 2026. The bullets claim 50 mm by 250 mm at 90 degrees and an XPS shadow line. The listing is tool only, on one 18 V XR pack, and the motor is brushed. It is the saw to shortlist if you already own XR batteries and you want a portable slider for skirting, studs and door facings.
How much does a cordless mitre saw cost on amazon.co.uk?
In this set the stored amazon.co.uk prices of 19 October 2026 run from about £109.49 to about £333.99. The Einhell TE-MS 18/210 is about £109.49. The Evolution R185SMS-Li is about £149.99. The Einhell TE-SM 36/210 is about £199.98. The Einhell 254 mm slider is about £281.99. The DeWalt DCS365N-XJ is about £333.99. Every listing is body only. A charger and at least one suitable pack, or two packs for the 36 V Einhells, sit on top of those prices. Those accessory prices are not in the stored files.
What should you check before you buy a cordless mitre saw?
Check the stated cross-cut at 90 degrees, then the battery family, then the slide. The DeWalt bullets say 50 mm by 250 mm. The Evolution bullets say 210 mm by 58 mm. The 210 mm Einhell highlight says 65 mm by 310 mm. The 254 mm Einhell bullets say 340 mm wide and 85 mm thick. The small Einhell is not a slider, and no width is stated. PXC, XR and EXT packs do not fit each other. Ignore a wattage field that conflicts with the rest of the listing.
Does the box include a battery and a charger?
No. Every kept listing is body only. The Einhell 18 V text recommends a PXC pack of 2.5 Ah or higher, sold separately. The 36 V Einhell saws need two 18 V packs, and neither pack is in the box. The DeWalt uses one XR pack, and the title says tool only. The Evolution uses an Erbauer EXT pack, also sold separately. A UK review of the Evolution confirms there is no battery and no charger in the box.
Will one 18 V battery run every saw here?
No. Einhell Power X-Change, DeWalt 18 V XR and Erbauer EXT do not share packs. The TE-MS 18/210 takes one PXC pack. The TE-SM 36/210 and the 254 mm Einhell run as 36 V on two 18 V PXC packs. The DCS365 takes one DeWalt XR pack. The Evolution takes Erbauer EXT. A 4 Ah EXT pack fitted the Evolution in a UK review. Buying the cheaper saw on the wrong platform is the dearer mistake. None of these boxes includes a battery or a charger.
Is a dust bag enough extraction?
No. A dust bag is not local exhaust ventilation. At work, wood dust sits under COSHH. HSE’s WIS23 sets 5 mg/m³ for softwood dust and 3 mg/m³ for hardwood, and mixtures use 3 mg/m³. LEV needs a thorough examination at least every 14 months. A UK review of the small Einhell says the dust bag collected nothing. Toolstation lists 88 dB(A) for the DCS365 only. That figure is not a daily exposure, and the Einhell and Evolution listings have no published noise figure here.
Can these cordless mitre saws cut metal?
Only the Evolution listing claims a multi-material blade, an 80-tooth 185 mm TCT, for wood, metal and plastic. The Einhell bullets describe wood. Do not cut metal on an Einhell wood blade because the Evolution is multi-material. The DeWalt bullets name hardwood. A surface field that also says metal is not a measured material list. The Evolution table says 240 V on a saw the title calls cordless, so that field is not the battery voltage. The star line on that listing is 4.2 from 26 reviews.
When should you call a joiner instead?
Call a joiner for stairs, structural timber, and crown that has to match an existing spring angle. Stop if the guard does not close. One UK review of the small Einhell describes a guard fault. These heads tilt one way, or the listing leaves dual bevel unclear, so flipping the board is the workaround for the other bevel. Do not treat the 254 mm Einhell highlight of +/-47 degrees as a proven double bevel. If you are working next to a socket, corded saws are on the mitre saw page.

Our verdict

The top pick is the DeWalt DCS365N-XJ at about £333.99. It has the highest score in this set, 94, from 4.7 and 557 amazon.co.uk reviews, with a stated 50 mm by 250 mm cut and an XPS shadow line. It is tool only, on one 18 V XR pack, and the motor is brushed. Best value is the Einhell TE-MS 18/210 at about £109.49. Three saws score full marks on value, and this is the lowest body price with the larger review count, 4.5 from 677. It is a fixed-head saw with no stated cross-cut width, so it is the wrong row if you need a slide.
