Portable sandblaster comparison 2026

The best portable sandblasters, compared.

Top pick: AUTOOL HTS558 walnut Best value: InoKraft basic kit – £7 under the premium kit, same 900 cc band and goggles, only if a dryer is already on the line. Updated 20 October 2026.

Peter F.
Peter F.Editor

A portable sandblaster on amazon.co.uk is a compressed-air gun with a gravity hopper, or a suction kit with a hose and a media hopper. You already own a compressor and want rust, paint or grease off parts you can remove. What matters is a trigger that meters the grit, a nozzle that passes dry media, and a compressor that holds pressure. The PSI figure in the title is not the pressure at the nozzle. At work, free-silica sand is prohibited as a blasting abrasive. The goggles in these kits are not an air-fed helmet. The AUTOOL HTS558 is the exception: a walnut-shell machine for inlet valves, not a general rust gun. A bodyshell or a thin panel is not this category. How to choose is set out in the [gravity or suction](/hub/compressors/portable-sandblaster/sub/portable-sandblaster-gravity-or-suction).

The best portable sandblasters in detail

AUTOOL HTS558 walnut

Rank 1

AUTOOL HTS558 walnut

∼£340

Our view

The AUTOOL HTS558 is a walnut blaster for inlet manifolds and valves at £339.99, weighing 11.8 kg, with five adapters, a recovery filter, and 2 kg of 1.0 mm walnut shell. A high-pressure air pump is not included, and pressure and airflow are not stated. It shows 4.4 from 111 reviews, the highest stars in this set, and most of those texts are not from the United Kingdom. The listing says to turn the engine off and turn the crank so the inlet valve is closed before you blast a port. A UK review describes that step on a Mazda CX-5. It is a valve machine. It is not a rust gun for a bracket, and the 4.4 is not a score for open-air blasting.

Pros

  • Built for inlet valves, with five adapters and a recovery filter
  • 2 kg of 1.0 mm walnut shell included
  • 4.4 from 111 reviews, with a UK note of the closed-valve step on a CX-5
  • The listing states that the inlet valve must be shut

Cons

  • £339.99, and the air pump is not included
  • Pressure and airflow are not stated
  • Most review texts are not UK reviews
  • Not a general rust or paint gun

Best for: You are cleaning inlet carbon, you can keep the inlet valve shut, and you will supply the air pump yourself.

Less suitable: You want to strip rust from a bracket, a tool, or a panel.

Common questions

What is this machine for?

The listing is a walnut blaster for inlet manifolds and valves, with five adapters and a filter that recovers the shell. It is not described as a general rust gun.

Is the air supply included?

No. The listing says a high-pressure air pump is not included. It includes 2 kg of 1.0 mm walnut grit.

What must you do before blasting a port?

The listing says turn the engine off and turn the crank so the inlet valve is closed. A UK review describes that step on a CX-5.

InoKraft basic kit

Rank 2

InoKraft basic kit

∼£43

Our view

The InoKraft Sand Blaster Basic Kit is a 900 cc gravity gun at £42.99, listed for 60–120 PSI, with a ceramic nozzle, a quick connector, safety goggles, and a 1-year warranty. It shows 4.3 from 13 amazon.co.uk reviews. A UK review of this listing says the premium kit is the one with the separator and a longer nozzle, and a reviewer puts the ceramic nozzle at about 4 mm. Reviewers say the medium goes quickly, and one says a full container lasted about 3–4 minutes of blasting. Air consumption in CFM is not stated. The listing speed claim of up to 287 m/s is not a compressor demand. It is the lower spend when a dryer is already on the line. It is the wrong saving if the air is wet and you have no separator.

Pros

  • 900 cc hopper, ceramic nozzle, quick connector, and goggles
  • 60–120 PSI stated, with a 1-year warranty
  • 4.3 from 13 reviews that describe short blasting sessions
  • £42.99, £7 under the premium kit

Cons

  • No oil-water separator in the box
  • CFM is not stated
  • One review says a full hopper lasted about 3–4 minutes
  • 13 reviews is a small sample next to 64 on the premium kit

Best for: You already have a water separator on the compressor and you want the cheaper InoKraft kit for small parts.

Less suitable: The airline is wet, or you need the extension nozzle that comes in the premium box.

Common questions

Does this basic kit include a water separator?

No. A UK review of this listing says the premium kit is the one with the separator and a longer nozzle.

What pressure does the listing state?

60–120 PSI. It also claims airflow up to 287 m/s. It does not state CFM. A reviewer puts the ceramic nozzle at about 4 mm.

How long does a hopper last?

Reviewers say the medium goes quickly. One says a full container lasted about 3–4 minutes of blasting.

InoKraft premium kit

Rank 3

InoKraft premium kit

∼£50

Our view

The InoKraft Sand Blaster Premium Kit is the 900 cc gravity kit at £49.99 with an oil-water separator, an extension nozzle, ceramic nozzles, a quick connector, and safety goggles. The listing states 60–120 PSI and does not state CFM. It shows 4.0 from 64 reviews, the larger of the two InoKraft samples. UK reviews describe small rust and soda jobs on tools and local spots, and they also say the grit goes everywhere and the hopper empties in a few minutes. A small tank means short bursts, because the compressor has to catch up. The separator is the part the basic kit does not include. It is the kit to open first for a bracket or a tool you can take off the car. It is the wrong gun for a wing or a bodyshell.

Pros

  • Oil-water separator and an extension nozzle in the box
  • 900 cc hopper, ceramic nozzles, goggles, and a 1-year warranty
  • 4.0 from 64 reviews that describe finished small jobs
  • Stated band of 60–120 PSI

Cons

  • CFM is not stated, so a small compressor may only manage bursts
  • The hopper empties in a few minutes
  • Open-air use throws grit across the space
  • The included goggles are not an air-fed helmet

Best for: Spot rust or soda on parts you can remove, with a compressor that can hold the stated 60–120 PSI band.

Less suitable: A thin panel, a full bodyshell, or a long pass with the gun pointed steeply downhill.

Common questions

What does the premium kit add?

The listing includes an oil-water separator, an extension nozzle, ceramic nozzles, a quick connector, safety goggles, and a 900 cc hopper.

Will it run on a small compressor?

The listing states 60–120 PSI and does not state CFM. UK reviews say you need a compressor that keeps up, and that a small tank means short bursts.

What do owners say about mess?

UK reviews praise small rust and soda jobs, and they also say the grit goes everywhere and the hopper empties in a few minutes.

Ejoyous 50 lb hopper kit

Rank 4

Ejoyous 50 lb hopper kit

∼£70

Our view

The Ejoyous suction kit is £69.99, and the title states 120 PSI, a 15 ft hose, and a 50 lb hopper. The bullet list does not add airflow, nozzle bore, or thread. It shows 4.0 from 2 reviews. The only UK review calls it an open-air suction-feed type, not a pressure pot, and says grit goes everywhere, the range of grit is limited by the design, and damp grit means the kit should not be used. Two reviews cannot separate a sound sample from a lucky order, and a large hopper on the title is not evidence that it keeps drawing. Treat a return as part of the plan if the first dry fill will not pick up.

Pros

  • 50 lb hopper and a 15 ft hose in the title
  • Title states 120 PSI
  • The UK review identifies it as open suction, not a pressure pot

Cons

  • 4.0 from only 2 reviews
  • Grit goes everywhere, and damp grit stops the job
  • Airflow and nozzle are not stated
  • No water separator in the listed contents

Best for: You already work outside, you will keep the media bone dry, and a two-review listing is acceptable.

Less suitable: You wanted a pressure pot, or you need more than one UK account of a finished job.

Common questions

What does the title claim?

A portable kit with a gun, a 15 ft hose, a 50 lb hopper, and 120 PSI. The bullet list does not add specifications.

Is the hopper pressurised?

The only UK review calls it an open-air suction-feed type. The listing does not describe a pressure pot.

What does that review warn about?

Grit goes everywhere, the range of grit is limited by the design, and damp grit means the kit should not be used.

Bohaner cabinet gun, 8 mm

Rank 5

Bohaner cabinet gun, 8 mm

∼£20

Our view

The Bohaner BHE-020 is a 390 g cabinet gun at £19.99, sold for box-type sandblasting machines, with an 8 mm boron carbide nozzle in the title. Pressure, airflow, inlet thread, and hopper size are not stated, because this is a spare for a cabinet that already feeds the gun. It shows 3.9 from 33 reviews, and the only UK review says the nozzle seems too short, slides, and then blocks the air jet. Other review texts in the file are German, so they are not UK evidence. There is no abrasive and no eye protection in the box. Buy it only as a replacement core for a cabinet you already run. It is not an open-air portable kit.

Pros

  • 8 mm boron carbide nozzle stated in the title
  • 390 g spare aimed at a box machine
  • £19.99

Cons

  • Sold for a cabinet, not as an open-air portable kit
  • Pressure, inlet, and airflow are not stated
  • The only UK review says the nozzle slides and blocks the jet
  • Most other review texts are not from the United Kingdom

Best for: You already own a cabinet and you are replacing the gun core.

Less suitable: You want a gravity gun or a hopper kit for parts in the garage.

Common questions

Is this an open-air portable kit?

The listing says it is for box-type manual and automatic sandblasting machines. The included item is one sandblasting gun.

What nozzle does it state?

The title states an 8 mm boron carbide nozzle, and the bullets state a 35 x 20 x 8 mm gun core.

What does the UK review say?

The only UK review says the nozzle seems too short, slides, and then blocks the air jet. Other texts in the saved listing are German.

LIYOU gravity gun, 900 ml

Rank 6

LIYOU gravity gun, 900 ml

∼£11

Our view

The LIYOU gravity gun is a 410 g tool at £10.99 with a 900 ml hopper, a 5 mm metal nozzle, and a stated 1/4 inch NPT inlet. The listing puts the working band at 60–100 PSI and air use at 8.8–10.6 CFM, which is one of the few airflow lines in this set. Across 374 amazon.co.uk reviews it sits at 3.5, and several UK reviews say grit never leaves the hopper because the outlet is tiny, with the fixing screw able to crush it further. Abrasive, a water separator, and goggles are not in the box. At this price you are buying a gun you may have to return if the first fill will not flow. It is a poor first purchase when you need a bracket cleaned this weekend.

Pros

  • 900 ml hopper, 5 mm metal nozzle, and a stated 1/4 inch NPT inlet
  • Working band of 60–100 PSI and 8.8–10.6 CFM on the listing
  • £10.99, the lowest price in this set
  • 374 amazon.co.uk reviews, so the feed complaint is a large sample

Cons

  • UK reviews say grit does not leave the hopper
  • The fixing screw can crush the outlet further
  • No abrasive, separator, or goggles in the box

Best for: You can return a gun that will not feed, and you want the cheapest 900 ml body to try on light spots.

Less suitable: You need the first fill to cut rust today, or your coupler is BSP rather than NPT.

Common questions

What air inlet does this gun use?

The listing states a 1/4 inch NPT inlet, an operating band of 60–100 PSI, and air use of 8.8–10.6 CFM.

Does media come in the box?

No. The listing includes the gun, a 900 ml hopper, a 5 mm metal nozzle, and a flow valve. It does not include abrasive.

What do UK reviews say about feeding?

Several UK reviews say grit does not leave the hopper because the outlet is tiny, and that the fixing screw can crush it further.

Fockety gravity gun

Rank 7

Fockety gravity gun

∼£25

Our view

The Fockety gravity gun is £25.24 and 540 g, and the title states 150 PSI. The technical details do not repeat that pressure, and they do not state airflow, hopper volume, or the inlet thread. The listing says a steel valve adjusts the medium and that a filter sits on the inlet. It shows 3.5 from 7 reviews, and the only review text in the file is a one-word French review, so there is no UK account of whether it feeds. Lifelong technical support is claimed on the listing. Abrasive and goggles are not included. A 150 PSI title is not a measured pressure at the nozzle on your compressor.

Pros

  • Steel flow valve stated, with a replaceable nozzle
  • A filter on the inlet is mentioned
  • Title states 150 PSI

Cons

  • Hopper size, airflow, and inlet thread are not stated
  • 3.5 from 7 reviews, with no UK review text
  • No abrasive in the box
  • 150 PSI is a title line, not a nozzle measurement

Best for: You only consider it after the seller confirms hopper volume and thread, and you can return it if it will not feed.

Less suitable: You need a stated hopper size and a UK review of the first session.

Common questions

Where does the 150 PSI figure come from?

It is in the product title. Technical details do not repeat a pressure, and they do not state airflow.

Can the flow be adjusted?

The listing says a steel valve adjusts the medium, and that there is an adjustable device at the nozzle.

Are there UK review details?

The listing shows 3.5 from 7 reviews. The only review text in the saved listing is a one-word French review.

BGS 70056 with grit

Rank 8

BGS 70056 with grit

∼£27

Our view

The BGS 70056 is a gravity gun at £27.38 with a 510 ml pot, a 5 mm zinc-plated nozzle, and two 1 kg tubs of brown aluminium oxide at 0.21–0.35 mm. The listing states 6.2 bar and 169 l/min through a 6.3 mm (1/4 inch) connection, without saying whether that joint is BSP or NPT. Across 261 reviews it sits at 3.4. UK reviews say there is no flow adjustment and that grit leaves the pot when the gun points down, and one says a full load lasts about three seconds. The oxide is a real trial quantity next to guns that ship empty. The pot still dumps if you tip it. You are buying the grit more than a gun that controls the flow.

Pros

  • 2 kg of aluminium oxide included, grain 0.21–0.35 mm
  • 6.2 bar and 169 l/min stated, with a 5 mm nozzle
  • 510 ml hopper and a 6.3 mm connection
  • 261 reviews, so the dump complaint is a repeated pattern

Cons

  • No flow adjustment, and grit falls out when the gun points down
  • One review says a full load lasts about three seconds
  • BSP or NPT is not stated
  • No water separator or goggles

Best for: You want a short trial of aluminium oxide and you can keep the gun level on a bench.

Less suitable: You need to point the gun down at a part, or you need a trigger that controls how fast the grit leaves.

Yes. The listing includes two 1 kg tubs of brown aluminium oxide, grain 0.21–0.35 mm, mesh 40–60, plus a 510 ml hopper.

What pressure and air use are stated?

The listing states 6.2 bar and 169 l/min, with a 6.3 mm (1/4 inch) connection. It does not say BSP or NPT.

Why do some reviews say the grit falls out?

UK reviews say there is no flow adjustment and that grit leaves the pot when the gun points down. One says a full load lasts about three seconds.

Estink 50 lb hopper kit

Rank 9

Estink 50 lb hopper kit

∼£67

Our view

The Estink suction kit is £67.02, with a gun, a 15 ft hose, and a 50 lb hopper. The title states 90 PSI, and airflow, nozzle, and inlet thread are not stated. It shows 3.1 from 23 reviews. One review says the gun is spattery and sand comes out in roughly two-second bursts, another says it cleaned a motorbike frame on a 100 litre compressor with pauses to rebuild pressure, and a third says it worked for about ten minutes and then stopped picking up sand even after a blockage was cleared. The hopper holds more than a 900 ml pot, but the UK texts do not show a steady draw. It is a weak bet when you need the first session to keep feeding.

Pros

  • 50 lb hopper and a 15 ft hose
  • Title states 90 PSI
  • One review cleaned a motorbike frame, with pauses to rebuild pressure

Cons

  • 3.1 from 23 reviews
  • Spattery output in roughly two-second bursts
  • One review says it stopped picking up sand after about ten minutes
  • Airflow, nozzle, and thread are not stated

Best for: You have a large compressor, you can pause for pressure, and you accept a thin, unhappy review record.

Less suitable: You need a steady draw on day one, or the work is a small bracket a gravity gun can reach.

Ejoyous handheld gun

Rank 10

Ejoyous handheld gun

∼£28

Our view

The Ejoyous handheld gun is £28.10 and 545 g, with a ceramic and rubber nozzle and a carbon steel valve body. Bore, pressure, airflow, inlet thread, and hopper size are not stated. The listing has no customer-review line, so there is no star rating to weigh. The title says it is for a sandblasting cabinet, while the bullets also name cars, baths, tiles, and pools. Both wordings sit on the same page, and neither is backed by a UK review. Abrasive is not included. There is nothing here you can match to a compressor before you order. Leave it until a listing states the air figures and a feed type.

Pros

  • Ceramic and rubber nozzle stated
  • Carbon steel valve body
  • 545 g

Cons

  • No star rating on the listing
  • Pressure, airflow, inlet, and hopper are not stated
  • The title says cabinet and the bullets name open jobs
  • No abrasive in the box

Best for: You already know this body from another source and you only need this spare.

Less suitable: You are choosing a first portable kit from this listing alone.

What is the nozzle made of?

The listing says a ceramic and rubber nozzle and a carbon steel valve body. It does not state bore, pressure, or inlet thread.

The title says it is for a sandblasting cabinet. The bullets also name cars, baths, tiles, and pools. Both wordings are on the listing.

How we compared

For this comparison we read ten portable sandblaster listings on amazon.co.uk, shelf date 19 October 2026. Scores weight Amazon evidence at 25, listing fit at 35, review outcome at 25 and value at 15. We did not run a lab test. A PSI figure in a title is not the pressure at the nozzle, and the AUTOOL 4.4 is not scored as an open-air rust gun. Included goggles are not scored as an air-fed helmet.

1

Amazon evidence

25%

Star rating on amazon.co.uk, then a deduction when the count is small, when the texts are mostly not from the United Kingdom, or when a repeated UK complaint is that the gun will not feed, dumps the pot, or stops drawing.

2

Listing fit

35%

A gravity gun or a suction kit scores higher than a cabinet spare or a walnut valve machine, because this comparison is about compressor-fed spot work. Points for a pressure in the specification, a stated air consumption, a hopper size, a nozzle, a named inlet or connector, and either a water separator or a stated non-silica media in the box. A title-only PSI scores less.

3

Review outcome

25%

UK reviews that describe a finished small job score higher than a large file that repeats a feed fault, and higher than a star line with no UK text.

4

Value

15%

Shelf price in GBP against a kit a UK review says will actually move dry media. A low price does not score here when the same reviews say the grit stays in the hopper.

Portable sandblaster buying guide

Choose the job first, then the air the gun actually receives, then whether the grit stays dry. A PSI figure in the title is not the pressure at the nozzle.

What is a portable sandblaster?

A portable sandblaster in this set is a compressed-air gun with a small gravity hopper, or a suction kit with a hose and a separate media hopper. The AUTOOL HTS558 is the exception: a walnut-shell machine for inlet valves, not a general rust gun. You already own a compressor and want rust, paint or grease off parts you can take off. A bodyshell or a thin panel is not this category. Start with the job. A bracket or a tool is a gravity gun. InoKraft and LIYOU state about 900 ml.

Best for

  • A rusty bracket or tool you can remove, with a compressor that holds the stated pressure band
  • Inlet-valve carbon, if you can keep the valve shut and you supply the air pump

Not ideal for

  • A bodyshell, a thin panel, or anyone treating included goggles as an air-fed helmet
  • A first gun chosen because the title prints a high PSI or the stars are the highest in the set

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

Buying on the PSI in the title

Fockety’s 150 PSI and the 90 PSI and 120 PSI hopper titles are not a measured pressure at the nozzle. Size the job from free air. CoolBlast’s chart is about 22 CFM at 3.2 mm and about 49 CFM at 4.8 mm near 100 PSI. BGS states 169 l/min. LIYOU states 8.8–10.6 CFM. InoKraft does not state CFM.

  2. 2

Using building sand and sweeping the dust

COSHH 2002 Schedule 2 prohibits sand or other free silica as a blasting abrasive at work. A householder is not automatically a dutyholder, and the dust is the same. Do not dry-sweep. Included goggles are not the air-fed helmet CN7 expects at APF 40.

  3. 3

Reading AUTOOL’s stars as a rust score

The 4.4 from 111 reviews is a walnut valve machine at about £339.99. The air pump is not included, and most review texts are not from the United Kingdom. Pointing a gravity pot downhill, as UK reviews say of the BGS, dumps the grit.

What to weigh up

Job, air and feed

High

A bracket or a tool is a gravity gun. InoKraft states about 900 cc, LIYOU about 900 ml, and BGS 510 ml with 2 kg of aluminium oxide. Reviewers say an InoKraft hopper lasts a few minutes, and UK reviews say the BGS pot dumps when the gun points down. A gate outside is a suction hopper: Estink and Ejoyous state 50 lb and about 15 ft, with thin or unhappy reviews. Inlet valves are the AUTOOL, with the valve shut and the pump supplied by you. Free air matters more than title PSI.

Water, thread and place

High

The premium InoKraft kit adds a separator and an extension. The basic kit does not, so it is the lower spend only when a dryer is already on the line. Damp grit stops the Ejoyous suction kit, according to its UK review. A 1/4 inch inlet may be NPT on the LIYOU or an unnamed 6.3 mm joint on the BGS. Euro and British coupler noses differ, and InoKraft reviewers report connectors that would not tighten. Open blasting fills the room. Keep people out. Do not dry-sweep.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Hobby user with a rusty bracket

You want rust off a bracket or a tool you can take off, and the airline is not already dry. The InoKraft premium kit is about £49.99, with a 900 cc hopper, a separator, an extension nozzle and goggles, rated 4.0 from 64 reviews. UK reviews describe small jobs, and they also say the hopper empties in a few minutes. It is the wrong gun for a wing.

Restorer with parts off the car

You blast parts you can remove, and you must not blast thin skin. If a dryer is already on the airline, the InoKraft basic kit is about £42.99, with the same 900 cc band and goggles and no separator in the box. It is rated 4.3 from 13 reviews. A panel or a bodyshell is a different job.

Mechanic cleaning inlet carbon

You are cleaning inlet valves, you can keep the inlet valve shut, and you will supply the air pump yourself. The AUTOOL HTS558 is about £339.99, with five adapters, a recovery filter and 2 kg of 1.0 mm walnut. It is rated 4.4 from 111 reviews, and most of those texts are not from the United Kingdom. It is not a rust gun.

Common questions about portable sandblasters

Which portable sandblaster is the top pick?
The InoKraft premium kit is the top pick. It has the highest score in this set, at about £49.99. The listing includes a 900 cc gravity hopper, an oil-water separator, an extension nozzle, ceramic nozzles, a quick connector and goggles, and it states 60–120 PSI. It is rated 4.0 from 64 amazon.co.uk reviews. UK reviews describe small rust and soda jobs. CFM is not stated, and reviewers say the hopper empties in a few minutes. It is the wrong gun for a wing or a bodyshell.
Which portable sandblaster is the best value?
The InoKraft basic kit is the best value, at about £42.99, £7 under the premium kit. It is the same 900 cc band, with a ceramic nozzle, a quick connector, goggles and a 1-year warranty, rated 4.3 from 13 reviews. It does not include an oil-water separator. The score method treats it as value only when a dryer is already on the airline. CFM is not stated, and one review says a full hopper lasted about 3–4 minutes. Thirteen reviews is a small sample next to 64 on the premium kit.
How much does a portable sandblaster cost?
On these amazon.co.uk listings, shelf prices run from about £10.99 for the LIYOU gravity gun to about £69.99 for the Ejoyous 50 lb suction kit, with the AUTOOL HTS558 walnut machine at about £339.99. Entry guns sit at about £10.99 to £28.10. The two InoKraft kits sit at about £42.99 and £49.99. The Estink hopper kit is about £67.02. A low price does not score as value when UK reviews say the grit stays in the hopper or the pot dumps when the gun points down.
Can I use building sand in a portable sandblaster?
No. COSHH 2002 Schedule 2 prohibits sand or other free silica as an abrasive for blasting articles. It binds employers and the self-employed at work. A private householder is not automatically a dutyholder, and the dust is the same. HSE sheet CN7 says do not use sand, and it treats silica-free as under 1 percent silica. HSE INDG463 states a respirable crystalline silica limit of 0.1 mg/m³ over 8 hours. Old paint may contain lead. The BGS kit includes aluminium oxide, and the AUTOOL includes walnut shell.
How much air does a portable sandblaster need?
Size the compressor from free air delivery, not from the PSI in the title. CoolBlast’s indicative chart is about 22 CFM at a 3.2 mm nozzle and about 49 CFM at 4.8 mm near 100 PSI. BGS states 169 l/min at a 5 mm nozzle and 6.2 bar. LIYOU states 8.8–10.6 CFM. The InoKraft listings state 60–120 PSI and do not state CFM. UK reviews of the premium kit say a small tank means short bursts. A title figure of 150 PSI on the Fockety gun is not a measured pressure at the nozzle.
Are the included goggles enough for open blasting?
No. HSE sheet CN7 expects an air-fed helmet at APF 40 for open blasting, and nearby respiratory protection at APF 20, plus an exclusion zone and the compressor upwind. Supplied goggles cover the eyes only. They are not scored as an air-fed helmet. Open blasting fills the room. Keep people out, and do not dry-sweep the dust. These listings state no noise figure. A cabinet spare is a different job from these open-air kits. See sandblasting guns.
Is the AUTOOL the top gun because it has 4.4 stars?
No. The AUTOOL HTS558 is a walnut blaster for inlet valves at about £339.99, rated 4.4 from 111 reviews. Most of those texts are not from the United Kingdom. A high-pressure air pump is not included. The listing says to turn the engine off and turn the crank so the inlet valve is closed. It is not a rust gun for a bracket. The highest star line in this set is not the open-air pick.
Does a home sandblaster need a written scheme?
Not on a private driveway. The Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 apply to compressed air above 0.5 bar at work. HSE’s INDG178 example says a written scheme is due at 250 bar litres or more. A handheld gun is unlikely to need its own scheme. The receiver might. A product page is not that scheme. Call a competent person for workplace use, for coatings that may contain lead, and for a bodyshell or a thin panel.

Our verdict

The InoKraft premium kit is the top pick: the highest score, a 900 cc hopper, an oil-water separator, an extension nozzle and goggles, at about £49.99, with UK reviews that describe small rust and soda jobs. The InoKraft basic kit is the best value at about £42.99, £7 less, and only when a dryer is already on the airline. The BGS gun includes 2 kg of aluminium oxide, and UK reviews say the pot dumps when the gun points down. The AUTOOL 4.4 is a walnut valve machine, not a rust score.
