Best portable sandblaster

Updated: 21.10.2026

You want one kit for rust and paint on parts you can lift off, and the highest star line in the set belongs to a walnut machine for inlet valves. The cheapest guns have the largest review files. A best portable sandblaster, in this comparison, means the kit UK reviews describe finishing a small job, with the parts in the box that those jobs need. It does not mean 4.4 stars, and it does not mean £10.99. The ten listings are on the [portable sandblaster comparison](/hub/compressors/portable-sandblaster). This is not a lab test, and it is not a claim that any of these kits is safe to use indoors.

Best for small rust on parts you can remove

The top pick for spot work is the InoKraft Sand Blaster Premium Kit, ASIN B0FGDHX64D, at £49.99. It is a 900 cc gravity gun listed at 60–120 PSI, with an oil-water separator, an extension nozzle, ceramic nozzles, a quick connector and safety goggles. It shows 4.0 from 64 amazon.co.uk reviews. UK reviews describe finished spots: small rust, soda on a carburettor, tools, local body rust. They also say the grit goes everywhere. The best value pick is the InoKraft basic kit, B0FGDDBFGL, at £42.99, if a water separator is already on your airline. It is the same 900 cc idea, at the same 60–120 PSI, with goggles and a ceramic nozzle. It shows 4.3 from 13 reviews. A review of this listing says the premium kit is the one with the separator and the longer nozzle. Neither kit states free-air delivery. The premium listing's speed claim, up to 287 m/s, is not a CFM figure. The first session is on the how to use a sandblasting gun page.

Skip the cheapest guns as a first buy

The LIYOU gravity gun, B09YHMB4HW, is £10.99 and 3.5 from 374 reviews. The listing states a 900 ml hopper, a 5 mm metal nozzle, 60–100 PSI, 8.8–10.6 CFM, and a 1/4 inch NPT inlet. Several UK reviews say the grit never leaves the hopper because the outlet is tiny, and that the fixing screw can crush it further. A large review count here is evidence of that fault, not a reason to prefer it over a kit reviewers say they finished a job with. The BGS 70056, B08JZ8HVXK, is the other large file, at £27.38 and 3.4 from 261 reviews. It includes two 1 kg tubs of brown aluminium oxide, grain 0.21–0.35 mm, a 510 ml pot, a 5 mm nozzle, and stated figures of 6.2 bar and 169 l/min. UK reviews say there is no flow adjustment and that grit falls out when the gun points down. One account puts a full load at about three seconds. The oxide is a trial quantity the gun does not control.

A 50 lb hopper is a different bet

Estink, B07RFH9MW7, is £67.02. The title states 90 PSI, a 15 ft hose, and a 50 lb hopper, about 23 kg. Airflow is not stated. It shows 3.1 from 23 reviews. One review says it stopped picking up sand after about ten minutes, even after a blockage was cleared. The Ejoyous hopper kit, B084TLFRX9, is £69.99, with 120 PSI, 15 ft, and 50 lb in the title, and 4.0 from 2 reviews. The only UK review calls it open-air suction, not a pressure pot, and says grit goes everywhere and damp grit stops the job. Two reviews cannot carry a ranking, and neither listing states CFM.

The 4.4-star machine is for valves

The AUTOOL HTS558, B0BFWNPKT2, is £339.99 and 4.4 from 111 reviews. It is a walnut blaster for inlet manifolds, with five adapters, a recovery filter, and 2 kg of 1.0 mm shell. The air pump is not included, and pressure and airflow are not stated. The listing tells you to switch the engine off and turn the crank so the inlet valve is closed. A UK review describes that step on a Mazda CX-5. Choose it when the job is inlet carbon and you will supply the air. Skip it for a bracket or paint on a part in the garage. Reading those stars as the best portable sandblaster is the mistake this page is here to stop. Thin panels stay on the sandblaster for rust page.

Common questions

Why not the 4.4-star machine?
The AUTOOL HTS558 is a walnut blaster for inlet valves, at £339.99, and the air pump is not in the box. Its 4.4 from 111 reviews is the highest star line here, and most of those texts are not UK reviews. That is a port job, not a score for open-air rust.
Is the £10.99 gun worth it because of 374 reviews?
The LIYOU gun's 3.5 from 374 reviews is a large sample of a feed fault: UK reviews say grit does not leave the hopper. The listing does state 8.8–10.6 CFM and a 1/4 inch NPT inlet. A big count is not a reason to prefer it over a kit reviewers say they finished a spot with.
Basic kit or premium kit?
Buy the premium InoKraft kit when you need the oil-water separator and the extension nozzle. Buy the basic kit, £7 less at £42.99, when that separator is already fitted and you accept 13 reviews rather than 64. Both still empty a 900 cc hopper in a few minutes.
Are the 50 lb hoppers better because they hold more?
They hold more media. They do not show a steadier gun. Estink is 3.1 from 23, with spattery bursts and one stop after about ten minutes. The Ejoyous hopper kit is 4.0 from 2, and that review is about mess and damp grit. Neither states CFM.
What should I skip if the gun must feed on day one?
Skip LIYOU as a first gun, because the repeated UK complaint is that media will not flow. Skip the BGS 70056 if you cannot keep the pot level, because reviews say it dumps. If a gun never feeds, a return is the remedy, not a drilled-out outlet.
