Sandblasting gun comparison 2026

The best sandblasting guns, compared.

Top pick: MospdyGear WHX0127 Best value: Bohaner siphon kit – Lowest-priced gun here that states a cfm minimum, at about £13.99. Six reviews are too few to treat that as a long record. Updated 20 October 2026.

Peter F.Editor

A sandblasting gun on amazon.co.uk is a compressed-air tool that throws abrasive, or a softer media such as sodium bicarbonate, at a surface to lift rust, paint or scale. Most UK buyers are garage and workshop users who already own a compressor and want a handheld gun or a small kit, not a pressure-pot system and not a pressure-washer lance. You tell a usable gun from a poor one by the air figure the listing actually states, the nozzle material, whether media is metered only when you pull the trigger, and whether a moisture separator is in the box. A gravity hopper around 900 ml suits spots and brackets. A cabinet gun is not a walk-around rust gun. Match free air delivery, not the tank in litres, in the [compressor size guide](/hub/compressors/sandblasting-gun/sub/sandblasting-gun-compressor-size). A pressure pot with a long hose is a different product, and so is a pressure-washer lance. Engine walnut-shell machines are not this category either. Three feeds show up in these nine listings.

The best sandblasting guns in detail

MospdyGear WHX0127

Rank 1

MospdyGear WHX0127

∼£19

Our view

The MospdyGear WHX0127 at about £18.89 is sold for manual or automatic sandblasting machines, with a 35 × 20 × 8 mm core and a listed weight of 381 g. Across three amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.6, and two UK reviews were read. One says it worked with no issues, and the other says it is expensive for what it is and that a case and tubing were not included. The listing states no cfm and no pressure. The technical table says hydraulic-powered and lists an airbrush tool, which conflicts with the sandblasting title. Three ratings cannot outrank a gun that publishes an airflow. It belongs with a cabinet or a machine, not as a walk-around rust gun.

Pros

  • Sold for a sandblasting machine rather than as an open hopper kit
  • Two short UK reviews say it worked
  • Listed at 381 g with a core of 35 × 20 × 8 mm

Cons

  • No cfm and no pressure on the listing
  • The technical table says hydraulic power and an airbrush tool
  • One UK review wanted a case and tubing that were not in the box
  • Three reviews only, so 4.6 is a thin line

Best for: A cabinet spare when you already know the cabinet takes this core and you can ignore the conflicting table fields.

Less suitable: Anyone matching a compressor by airflow, or anyone treating 4.6 from three reviews as the strongest evidence in this set.

Common questions

Is an airflow stated?

No. The listing has no cfm and no psi. The technical table says hydraulic-powered and lists an airbrush tool, which conflicts with the sandblasting-gun title.

What do the two UK reviews say?

One says it worked with no issues. The other says it works but is expensive for what it is, and that a case and tubing were not included.

Metabo SSP 1000

Rank 2

Metabo SSP 1000

∼£22

Our view

The Metabo SSP 1000 (601569000) at about £21.79 is a siphon gun that states 7 bar and 300 l/min, with a hardened steel jet, a metal suction cap, and a listed weight of 550 g. Across 1,084 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.3, the largest file in this set. The review notes contain one UK review, which says good for the price. The other captured reviews are not UK reviews and are not used as UK opinion. Metabo's bullets describe rust and paint in corners and on smaller surfaces. The technical table says hand-powered, which conflicts with the 7 bar title, so that field is not the power source. Container size and a separator are not on the listing. In this set it is the top pick for a small steel job when your compressor can approach 300 l/min at 7 bar.

Pros

  • 7 bar and 300 l/min published together
  • 4.3 from 1,084 amazon.co.uk reviews at about £21.79
  • Hardened steel jet and a metal suction cap at 550 g
  • Described for corners and smaller steel surfaces

Cons

  • Technical details say hand-powered on a compressed-air gun
  • Only one UK review sentence in the extract
  • No hopper size and no moisture separator
  • 300 l/min at 7 bar is more than a small tank will hold continuously

Best for: Spot rust and corners on steel when the compressor can approach 300 l/min at 7 bar.

Less suitable: A hopper-in-the-box job, or a compressor that cannot approach that airflow.

Common questions

What operating point does Metabo state?

The title and bullets state 7 bar and 300 l/min. The technical table’s power source says hand-powered, which conflicts with that. Weight is 550 g.

How many UK reviews are in the extract?

The listing line is 4.3 from 1,084 reviews. The review notes contain one UK review, which says good for the price. The other captured reviews are not UK reviews.

InoKraft basic kit

Rank 3

InoKraft basic kit

∼£43

Our view

The InoKraft basic kit at about £42.99 is a gravity gun with a 900 ml hopper, ceramic nozzles, a quick connector, goggles, and a trigger the listing says meters media, stated for 60–120 PSI. Across 13 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.3, and six UK reviews were read. Those buyers describe rust on car bodywork, garden furniture, and a gun that felt capable around £40, and one of them put the ceramic bore at about 4 mm and said it used less air. That bore is a reviewer's estimate, not a specification, and airflow is still not printed. One review said a full container lasted about 3–4 minutes. A UK review says the premium kit is the one that adds the water separator and a longer nozzle, and one buyer already had a two-stage remover so they skipped it. The goggles are eye cover, not an air-fed helmet. Thirteen reviews cannot show a season of nozzle wear.

Pros

  • 900 ml hopper, ceramic nozzles, and a trigger claimed to meter media
  • 4.3 from 13 reviews, with six UK texts describing small jobs
  • Quick connector, goggles, and a one-year line on the listing
  • One reviewer estimated a smaller ceramic bore and lower air use

Cons

  • No cfm figure, only a 60–120 PSI line
  • No oil-water separator in this kit
  • A full hopper lasted about 3–4 minutes in one review
  • Thirteen reviews, and the 4 mm bore is an estimate rather than a spec

Best for: A first hopper kit for spot work when you already dry the air and you do not need the separator in the same box.

Less suitable: Wet compressor air, or a job that needs a stated airflow before you buy.

Common questions

Does the basic kit include a moisture separator?

No. A UK review says the premium variant is the one with a water separator and a longer nozzle. This listing’s included line is hopper, trigger, ceramic nozzles, quick connector, goggles and a media guide.

Is a cfm figure stated?

No. The pressure line is 60–120 PSI. One UK review estimated the ceramic bore at about 4 mm. That estimate is not a specification.

Bohaner siphon kit

Rank 4

Bohaner siphon kit

∼£14

Our view

The Bohaner A-091 at about £13.99 is a siphon kit that states a minimum of 6 cfm at 80 PSI and includes four ceramic tips and one iron tip, at a listed 400 g. Across six amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.2, and the review notes have two UK reviews, neither of which states a fault. One buyer took it as a replacement gun inside a Clarke sandblasting cabinet. The listing does not name Clarke, so that fit is one person's report. The other UK review calls the quality reasonable. A bullet also talks about high-pressure liquid cleaning, which the listing does not reconcile with the sandblasting title. There is no hopper size and no moisture separator. In this set it is the best value pick because it is the lowest-priced gun that states a cfm minimum, and six reviews are too few to treat that as a long record.

Pros

  • States a minimum of 6 cfm at 80 PSI
  • Four ceramic tips and one iron tip on a 400 g siphon gun
  • Two UK reviews report it working, including one cabinet swap
  • About £13.99 with a published airflow

Cons

  • Only six reviews, and only two of them are UK text
  • No hopper size and no moisture separator
  • A liquid-cleaning bullet conflicts with the sandblasting title
  • The Clarke cabinet fit is one review, not a stated model match

Best for: A cheap siphon spare when you already have a container and a compressor that can hold about 6 cfm at 80 PSI.

Less suitable: A first gun if you want a hopper in the box, or a buyer who needs more than six reviews.

Common questions

What air does this Bohaner kit ask for?

The listing states a minimum of 6 cfm at 80 PSI. It does not state a hopper size or a moisture separator.

Have UK reviewers used it in a cabinet?

One of the two UK reviews says it seemed a direct replacement for the gun in a Clarke sandblasting cabinet. The other says it works well. Neither states a fault. The listing does not name Clarke.

InoKraft premium kit

Rank 5

InoKraft premium kit

∼£50

Our view

The InoKraft premium kit at about £49.99 adds an oil-water separator and an extension nozzle to the same class of 900 ml gravity gun, ceramic nozzles, and a 60–120 PSI line, at 1.34 kg. Across 64 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 4.0, and 45 UK reviews were read. Buyers used soda on a carburettor and on alloy castings at about 45 psi, and they call the separator useful. The same file is blunt about air hunger, media use, mess, clogging, and connectors that did not match every compressor. One buyer said it was too messy for motorcycle parts, and several say the compressor has to be more capable than a casual 60 PSI reading. Airflow is still not stated. The goggles in the box are not the air-fed helmet the Health and Safety Executive describes for abrasive blasting at work. It is the kit to buy when wet air is the problem you already have, and the kit to leave when you needed a cfm figure first.

Pros

  • Oil-water separator and an extension nozzle in the box
  • 900 ml hopper and a trigger claimed to meter media
  • 4.0 from 64 reviews, with 45 UK texts on small soda and rust jobs
  • Reviewers name about 45 psi on alloy castings

Cons

  • No cfm, only a 60–120 PSI line
  • UK reviews repeat air hunger, mess, and clogging
  • Airline connectors did not match every compressor
  • About £49.99 is the highest shelf price in this set, for a spot hopper

Best for: Spot soda or rust work when you want the separator in the same box and you can live with the mess.

Less suitable: A whole panel, a compressor you cannot check for airflow, or anyone reading goggles as lung protection.

What do UK reviews repeat?

Across 45 UK reviews in the file, buyers praise small jobs and soda use, and they criticise air hunger, media use, mess, and connectors that did not match every compressor.

Bohaner 8 mm boron carbide gun

Rank 6

Bohaner 8 mm boron carbide gun

∼£20

Our view

The Bohaner BHE-020 at about £19.99 is a cabinet gun with an 8 mm boron carbide nozzle, a 35 × 20 × 8 mm core, and a listed weight of 390 g. Across 33 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 3.9. The only UK review in the review notes says the nozzle seems too short, slides about, and blocks the air jet. The listing states no cfm and no pressure, so an 8 mm bore cannot be matched to a home compressor from this page. Other reviews in the file are German and are not used as UK opinion. Boron carbide is the hard liner. The bore is still the air problem. Buy it only as a cabinet core you can retain, and leave it if you wanted a handheld rust gun.

Pros

  • 8 mm boron carbide nozzle named for a box machine
  • 390 g cabinet gun rather than a walk-around hopper kit
  • 33 amazon.co.uk reviews, more than the three-review machine gun

Cons

  • No cfm and no pressure
  • The only UK review says the nozzle slides and blocks the air jet
  • An 8 mm bore is a large air demand on a home compressor
  • That UK file is a single failure report

Best for: A cabinet that already needs an 8 mm boron carbide liner and whose clamp actually holds the nozzle.

Less suitable: Open rust work, or a small compressor you cannot check against a missing airflow.

The only UK review in the file says the nozzle seems too short, slides about, and blocks the air jet.

LIYOU handheld sandblasting gun

Rank 7

LIYOU handheld sandblasting gun

∼£11

Our view

The LIYOU handheld gun at about £10.99 is a gravity hopper of 900 ml with a stated 8.8–10.6 cfm, an operating band of 60–100 PSI, and a 5 mm metal nozzle on a 1/4 inch NPT inlet. Across 374 amazon.co.uk reviews the line is 3.5, and 16 UK reviews in the review notes are the ones used here. Some of those buyers did lift paint or rust once the gun was cleaned and given more air. The repeating complaint is that media never reaches the nozzle. The hopper outlet is tiny, and the screw that holds the hopper crushes it smaller. Buyers who drilled that outlet still report no flow, so more pressure is not the fix described in those reviews. A bullet says the blaster can be used with sand, which is listing copy and not a UK allowance. It is the cheapest shelf price in this set, and it is the gun to leave if you need media to move on the first session.

Pros

  • States 8.8–10.6 cfm, 60–100 PSI operating, and a 5 mm metal nozzle
  • 900 ml hopper and a flow screw on a gun listed at 410 g
  • Some of the 16 UK reviews did remove paint or rust after a clean-up
  • Lowest shelf price in this batch at about £10.99

Cons

  • UK reviews say the hopper outlet will not pass media
  • The securing screw is reported to crush that outlet smaller
  • Drilling the outlet did not restore flow for those buyers
  • A listing bullet names sand as a media

Best for: Only if you already accept a blocked hopper and want the cheapest stated-cfm gun in this set.

Less suitable: A first job where the media has to flow, or anyone following the sand bullet.

Common questions

Does the LIYOU listing state an airflow?

Yes. The listing states 8.8–10.6 cfm, an operating band of 60–100 PSI, and a 5 mm nozzle. It does not state your compressor’s free air delivery.

Do UK reviews say the media flows?

Several of the 16 UK reviews say the hopper outlet is too small, that the securing screw crushes it, and that media does not come out. Other reviews say it removed paint or rust.

Ejoyous 750 ml kit

Rank 8

Ejoyous 750 ml kit

∼£21

Our view

The Ejoyous 750 ml kit at about £20.92 states 10.0 bar and 320–420 l/min on a die-cast aluminium gravity gun with a 750 ml pot. The amazon.co.uk file has no customer-review line, so there is no star rating to quote. The air figure is higher than the Metabo's 300 l/min, and the listing does not say whether a home compressor holds 10 bar at that flow. Later bullets also describe oil, solvent, and water-based paints and primers, which the sand-blaster title does not resolve. Nozzle bore and a moisture separator are not stated. A published air line without a single review is not a proven pick in this set.

Pros

  • States 10.0 bar and 320–420 l/min together
  • 750 ml aluminium pot on a gravity gun
  • Die-cast aluminium body named in the bullets

Cons

  • No customer-review line in the listing file
  • Paint and primer copy sits on the same listing
  • No nozzle bore and no moisture separator
  • 10 bar at 320 l/min is a demand the listing does not match to a compressor

Best for: A reader who wants a stated high air figure and will wait for reviews before trusting the gun.

Less suitable: A first purchase, or anyone reading the paint bullets as a spray-gun specification.

Common questions

What air figure does the listing give?

The bullets state 10.0 bar and 320–420 l/min, with a 750 ml aluminium pot. They do not state nozzle bore or a moisture separator.

Why do the bullets also mention paint?

The title is a sand blaster air gun kit. Later bullets describe oil, solvent and water-based paints and primers. The listing does not resolve that conflict.

Ejoyous cabinet gun

Rank 9

Ejoyous cabinet gun

∼£28

Our view

The Ejoyous cabinet gun at about £28.10, part Ejoyoustsfwng7yiv, names a carbon steel valve body and a ceramic and rubber nozzle, at 545 g. The title says it is for a sandblasting cabinet. Other bullets also name cars, baths, tiles, and pools, and they list steel grit, glass beads, silicon carbide, aluminium oxide, and garnet. The listing file has no customer-review line, no cfm, and no pressure, so those uses are not a specification you can match. Bore is not stated. At about £28.10 it sits above cabinet guns in this set that at least name a nozzle diameter. There is nothing in the file to show how the ceramic tip wears or whether the valve seals.

Pros

  • The title is a cabinet gun rather than a walk-around kit
  • A ceramic tip and a carbon steel valve body are named
  • Listed weight is 545 g

Cons

  • No cfm, no pressure, and no customer-review line
  • Open-surface bullets conflict with the cabinet title
  • Nozzle bore is not stated
  • About £28.10 without an air figure or a star line

Best for: A cabinet spare only if you already know this body fits and you accept an unreviewed listing.

Less suitable: Open blasting, or any attempt to match a compressor by airflow.

Common questions

Is this sold as a cabinet gun?

The listing file has no customer-review line, and it does not state cfm or pressure.

How we compared

For this comparison we read nine sandblasting-gun listings on amazon.co.uk, dated 19 October 2026, and the review notes for those ASINs. Scores use the weights below. A stated psi, bar, cfm or l/min figure is the listing’s claim, not a measured nozzle pressure. A tank size in litres is not scored as delivered air. We did not run a lab test. Kit goggles are not scored as an air-fed helmet.

1

Amazon evidence

30%

Star points are (stars minus 3.5) times 20, floored at 0 and capped at 18, plus a volume bonus that rises with the review count. Under 10 reviews deducts 8. A listing with no customer-review line scores 0 on this part.

2

Listing fit

45%

Points for a published pressure and airflow, a feed that matches the description, a named ceramic, hardened-steel or boron carbide nozzle, a separator, an inlet, and a hopper size. Points come off for a hand-powered, hydraulic or airbrush field on an air gun, for unresolved paint or liquid copy, and for a bullet that names sand.

3

Review outcome

15%

A file that names a usable job and a limit scores higher than a thin file. A repeating theme that media will not flow scores low. Zero reviews score 0. German review text is not counted as UK opinion.

4

Value

10%

Shelf price in GBP against a gun that publishes an airflow. A low price does not score when UK reviews say the grit path is blocked, when the file is three reviews, or when the gun is a cabinet core with no air figure.

Sandblasting gun buying guide

Choose the air figure first, then the feed, then the nozzle and whether a separator is in the box. A stated psi or bar without cfm or l/min has not told you what the compressor must deliver. A gravity hopper around 900 ml suits spots and brackets. A siphon gun needs a container you already own. A cabinet gun is not a walk-around rust gun. Prices below are the amazon.co.uk shelf figures on these nine listings.

What is a sandblasting gun?

A sandblasting gun is a compressed-air tool that throws abrasive, or a softer media such as sodium bicarbonate, at rust, paint or scale. On amazon.co.uk the buyers in this set are garage and workshop users who already own a compressor. They want a handheld gun or a small kit. A pressure pot with a long hose is a different product, and so is a pressure-washer lance. Engine walnut-shell machines are not this category either. Three feeds show up in these nine listings.

Best for

  • Garage users whose compressor can approach the air figure printed on the gun
  • Spot work with a small hopper, or a cabinet that already takes that nozzle

Not ideal for

  • Anyone treating kit goggles as lung protection, or a sand bullet as a UK allowance
  • A whole panel, or a 24 litre tank expected to run the gun continuously

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Buying on tank litres

A tank size is not the air the nozzle receives. Metabo states 300 l/min at 7 bar. A listing that only prints 60–120 PSI has not stated the airflow. This page does not claim a 24 litre compressor will run a sandblasting gun continuously.

  2. 2

Using sand because a bullet or a review did

HSE sheet CN7 says use a silica-free abrasive with less than 1% silica, and says do not use sand. A listing bullet that names sand is not a UK allowance. Kiln-dried sand and play sand are not an acceptable abrasive here.

  3. 3

Treating kit goggles as lung protection

CN7 describes a CE-marked air-fed helmet at UK APF 40 for the blaster. Goggles in the box do not meet that description. Stop and call a professional for structural parts, old paint that may contain lead, or any job you cannot enclose.

What to weigh up

Air demand

High

Air demand is the compressor’s free air delivery, not the tank in litres. Metabo states 300 l/min at 7 bar for the SSP 1000 (601569000). The Bohaner siphon kit states a minimum of 6 cfm at 80 PSI. The LIYOU listing states 8.8–10.6 cfm and an operating band of 60–100 PSI. The Ejoyous 750 ml kit states 10.0 bar and 320–420 l/min. The InoKraft kits state 60–120 PSI and do not state cfm. A pressure band on its own has not told you the airflow.

Feed, nozzle and media

High

Feed decides the job. A gravity hopper around 900 ml suits spots, brackets and small parts. Both InoKraft kits state 900 cc. The LIYOU states 900 ml. A siphon gun keeps the pot off the gun. Metabo uses a metal suction cap, and the Bohaner kit does not state a hopper size. A cabinet gun is not a walk-around rust gun. The Bohaner 8 mm gun, the MospdyGear WHX0127 and the Ejoyous cabinet gun are that type. Ceramic is the usual hobby liner. Boron carbide is the hard-media liner.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Garage restorer

You want a gun that matches a real compressor and a media that will not dish thin steel or soft alloy. The Metabo SSP 1000 is the top pick when the compressor can approach 300 l/min at 7 bar. It is a siphon gun for corners and smaller steel surfaces, with no hopper in the box.

Our recommendation

View offer

Occasional DIY user

You want a small hopper, a stated pressure band, and a separator if the compressor is wet. The InoKraft premium kit is the only listing here with an oil-water separator in the box, plus a 900 ml hopper. It does not state cfm, and UK reviews describe mess and air hunger.

Cabinet user

You want a gun and nozzle that fit the cabinet, not a walk-around kit. The Bohaner 8 mm boron carbide gun names that liner for a box machine. It states no cfm, and the only UK review says the nozzle slides and blocks the air jet.

Common questions about sandblasting guns

Which sandblasting gun is the top pick?
The Metabo SSP 1000 is the top pick. At about £21.79 it states 7 bar and 300 l/min, with a hardened steel jet and a metal suction cap. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.3 from 1,084 reviews. The technical table says hand-powered, which conflicts with that air figure, so that field is not treated as the power source. One UK review sentence says good for the price. It suits spot rust when the compressor can approach 300 l/min at 7 bar. There is no hopper size on the listing.
Which sandblasting gun is the best value?
The Bohaner siphon kit is the best value. At about £13.99 it is the lowest-priced gun in this set that states a cfm minimum, 6 cfm at 80 PSI, with four ceramic tips and one iron tip. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.2 from six reviews, and only two of those texts are from the UK. Neither states a fault. The LIYOU at about £10.99 is cheaper and states a cfm band, but UK reviews describe a hopper that will not pass media, so it is not the value pick.
How much does a sandblasting gun cost?
On these amazon.co.uk listings the shelf prices run from about £10.99 to about £49.99. The LIYOU is about £10.99, the Bohaner siphon kit about £13.99, and the Metabo SSP 1000 about £21.79. The InoKraft basic kit is about £42.99 and the premium kit, the one with the separator, is about £49.99. These are the shelf figures captured for this batch, not a market survey, and they are not a promise of the cheapest price on the day you click.
What airflow does a sandblasting gun need?
Use the figure the listing states, and match it to the compressor’s free air delivery, not the tank in litres. Metabo states 300 l/min at 7 bar. The Bohaner siphon kit states a minimum of 6 cfm at 80 PSI. The InoKraft kits state 60–120 PSI and do not state cfm. A pressure band on its own has not told you the airflow. A 24 litre tank is not delivered air, and this page does not claim that size will run a gun continuously.
Can I use sand in a sandblasting gun?
No. HSE sheet CN7 says use a silica-free abrasive with less than 1% silica, and it says do not use sand. A LIYOU bullet that names sand is listing copy, not a UK allowance. Kiln-dried sand and play sand are not an acceptable abrasive here. Soda is gentler and still dusty. Glass bead and aluminium oxide do different jobs. None of those media is dust-free, and kit goggles are not the protection CN7 describes for the person blasting.
Are the goggles in the kit enough protection?
No. HSE sheet CN7 describes the blaster with a CE-marked air-fed helmet at UK APF 40 on breathing-quality air, and a nearby kettleman at APF 20. Goggles in a kit do not meet that description. COSHH 2002 requires an employer to prevent exposure or, where that is not reasonably practicable, to control it. Old coatings may contain lead. Call a professional for structural vehicle parts, paint that may contain lead, anything you cannot enclose, and a job that needs that helmet.
Is a cabinet gun the same as a handheld sandblasting gun?
No. A gravity hopper or a siphon gun is for open spot work. A gun sold for a blast cabinet belongs inside a sealed cabinet. In this set that is the Bohaner 8 mm boron carbide gun, the MospdyGear WHX0127 and the Ejoyous cabinet gun. None of those three states cfm. A pressure pot with a long hose is a different product again. If the job is the cabinet rather than the gun, start with the sandblasting cabinet comparison.

Our verdict

On these amazon.co.uk listings the Metabo SSP 1000 is the top pick. It states 7 bar and 300 l/min, with a hardened steel jet, at about £21.79 and 4.3 from 1,084 reviews. The best value is the Bohaner siphon kit at about £13.99, the lowest-priced gun in the set that states a cfm minimum. The cheaper LIYOU states a cfm band, and UK reviews describe a blocked feed, so it is not the value pick. A cabinet gun with no air figure is a spare for a box you already know, not a first rust gun.

Lowest-priced gun here that states a cfm minimum, at about £13.99. Six reviews are too few to treat that as a long record.
