A grill case is a soft weather cover you pull over a barbecue that stays outside. In the UK you will also see it called a BBQ cover or a barbecue cover. You buy one to keep rain, sun and dust off the grill between cooks. You tell a suitable grill case by the tape. Measure length, depth and closed height, including shelves that stay out. A little spare fabric lets a hem cord or side straps cinch the skirt. A lot of spare fabric ponds water and lifts in wind. If the title size and the item-dimensions line disagree, trust your tape. A stated denier and a PU or PVC coating mean more than a heavy-duty slogan. Cloth with no air vent traps damp, so the grill should be cool and dry first. Those checks are in the [grill case buying guide](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/grill-case/sub/grill-case-buying-guide). Wait until the barbecue is cool to the touch. A cover large enough to hide an LPG cylinder is not a reason to leave the valve open underneath.

The best Grill cases in detail

Yimomoyi 117 cm cover

Rank 1

Yimomoyi 117 cm cover

Our view

Across 1,076 amazon.co.uk reviews, the Yimomoyi cover at a title size of 117 x 66 x 117 cm is described as keeping rain off the barbecue, including heavy rain in one detailed review, while the side straps and drawstring stop flapping. It is the top pick in this table on that 4.6 star line at £9.39, with a claimed 420D Oxford cloth that several reviewers call thick. Individual reviews mention a fit on a Ninja, a barrel drum and a smaller second barbecue. The item-dimensions line prints 21 x 5.5 x 28 cm, the packed size. Some buyers still find the cloth flimsy or larger than the title. One had the Velcro stitching rip off on first use, and one held the cover down by standing the barbecue legs on it. The bullets say to let the grill cool before you cover it. A storage bag is included, and listed weight is 610 g.

Pros

  • 4.6 from 1,076 reviews
  • 420D Oxford claimed, and several reviewers call the cloth thick
  • Straps, hem rope and a storage bag
  • Cool-down warning in the bullets
  • Heavy rain stayed out in one detailed UK review

Cons

  • Item-dimensions line is the packed size, 21 x 5.5 x 28 cm
  • Strap stitching ripped on first use in one review
  • Some buyers find it larger than 117 x 66 x 117 cm, or thinner than a previous cover

Best for: A grill near 117 x 66 x 117 cm when you want 4.6 stars from 1,076 reviews and a cool-down note on the listing.

Less suitable: A 145 cm 3–4 burner that needs the longer covers, or a shaped barrel if the loose-fit comments match your grill.

Common questions

What size should you use for the Yimomoyi cover?

The title says 117 x 66 x 117 cm. The item-dimensions line says 21 x 5.5 x 28 cm, which is not the cover size in the title. The bullets say to check your grill before ordering.

What fabric does Yimomoyi claim?

420D Oxford with UV-proof and waterproof coatings. The bullets also claim wind, rain, sun, dust and snow resistance, and they say to let the grill cool before covering.

Is a storage bag included?

Yes. The bullets say the package includes a storage bag and that the cover is foldable and washable with water.

Kauytt 145 cm cover

Rank 2

Kauytt 145 cm cover

∼£10

Our view

The Kauytt cover is listed at 145 x 61 x 117 cm and £9.99, with 4.6 from 211 amazon.co.uk reviews, a higher star average than the covers that have thousands of ratings and a much smaller sample. UK reviewers report a fit on a 4-burner and on a large George Foreman, and several say rain beaded and the fabric felt stronger than expected. They credit Velcro and a bottom tie or drawstring for wind. A minority call it thin. One says it is plastic and that it blew off in a light breeze, one return was because it was too big, and it did not fit a Jamie Oliver Home 4 in a single review. Many of the reviews read as new out of the packet, so a winter of use is not shown here. The bullets claim 210D Oxford with a PVC lining, double seams and a storage bag. Listed weight is 470 g, and there is no cool-down line.

Pros

  • 4.6 from 211 UK reviews
  • 210D Oxford with a PVC lining claimed
  • Storage bag included
  • Reviewers mention rain beading and a bottom tie

Cons

  • Only 211 reviews, many from new covers
  • Too big for some barbecues, including one Jamie Oliver Home 4
  • One review says it blew off in a light breeze

Best for: A barbecue near 145 x 61 x 117 cm when you want the 4.6 star line and will treat 211 reviews as early evidence.

Less suitable: A Jamie Oliver Home 4 if that one miss still matches your grill, or a windy spot if the fastenings feel weak on arrival.

A drawstring at the bottom. The bullets claim 210D Oxford with a PVC lining, double seams, and UV protection.

BEEWAY 145 cm cover

Rank 3

BEEWAY 145 cm cover

∼£12

Our view

The 145 cm BEEWAY cover is listed at 145 x 61 x 120 cm and £11.88, with 4.4 from 4,564 amazon.co.uk reviews. The bullets claim 210D Oxford, four reflective strips, side straps, a bottom rope and a storage bag. Reviewers say it covers generously and that the hook-and-loop helps in wind, and some say it stayed dry after rain. The same comments call the cloth light enough that daylight shows through, more like a carrier bag than a heavy-duty cover. Straps that do not meet, and a drawstring that will not pull tight, come up in the file, along with tears after about a year and leaks in heavy rain. Those review blocks overlap heavily with the 132 cm BEEWAY ASIN, so read them as shared wording for both sizes. There is no cool-down line. Listed weight is 520 g.

Pros

  • 4.4 from 4,564 reviews
  • Side straps, hem rope and four reflective strips
  • Storage bag included
  • Some reviews say rain stayed out
  • Listed weight 520 g

Cons

  • Cloth described as thin, with daylight through the fabric
  • Straps that do not line up and a drawstring that will not pull tight
  • Tears after about a year and leaks in heavy rain in the shared review text

Best for: A grill close to 145 x 61 x 120 cm when you want reflective strips and a large review count and will retie the hem.

Less suitable: A small barbecue this cover swamps, or a patio where the side straps must meet without you adjusting them.

Common questions

What fabric does the 145 cm BEEWAY listing claim?

Oxford 210D polyester with a UV coating. The listing also says the cover is waterproof and rip-proof.

Does this BEEWAY listing say it fits a charcoal grill?

The listing asks the question. The bullets do not answer yes or no. They say to check dimensions and name Weber, Brinkmann and Char-Broil.

How is the 145 cm BEEWAY cover held on?

Self-stick straps on two sides and a tighten rope at the bottom. Four reflective strips are claimed. A storage bag is included. No cool-down line is in the bullets.

BEEWAY 132 cm cover

Rank 4

BEEWAY 132 cm cover

∼£12

Our view

The 132 cm BEEWAY cover is listed at 132 x 66 x 109 cm and £11.89, with 4.4 from 4,563 amazon.co.uk reviews. The bullets claim 210D Oxford, side straps, a bottom rope, four reflective strips and a storage bag, at a listed weight of 450 g. The review blocks use almost the same wording, names and dates as the 145 cm BEEWAY file, so they do not separately test this smaller cut. Those shared comments praise coverage and hook-and-loop in wind, and some rain checks are called waterproof. They also describe thin cloth, straps that do not match, a drawstring that will not tighten fully, rips within a year or two, and leaks in heavy rain. You would take this ASIN when the grill is closer to 132 x 66 x 109 cm. There is no cool-down line, and the image URL is the same as the larger BEEWAY listing.

Pros

  • Title size 132 x 66 x 109 cm
  • Side straps, hem rope and reflective strips claimed
  • Storage bag included
  • Shared reviews mention coverage and some dry rain checks

Cons

  • Review text nearly duplicates the 145 cm BEEWAY file
  • Thin fabric, strap alignment and leaks in that shared text
  • No cool-down warning

Best for: A grill closer to 132 x 66 x 109 cm than to 145 cm, if you accept the shared review pool.

Less suitable: A shopper treating 4,563 reviews as proof unique to this size, or a small barbecue the shared comments say is swamped.

AZOMKER 145 cm cover

Rank 5

AZOMKER 145 cm cover

Our view

Across 3,602 amazon.co.uk reviews, the AZOMKER cover is described as fitting XL grills at a title size of 145 x 61 x 117 cm, with hook-and-loop and a hem cord holding it on. Several UK reviews say rain stayed off the barbecue, and the listing tells you to let the grill cool before you cover it. At £7.10 and 4.4 stars it is the best value in this set. The same file includes a UK review that light rain came through like a sieve, and others call the cloth very thin and doubt it will last a summer. The item-dimensions line says 155 x 71 x 120 cm, which disagrees with the title, and some buyers found the cover a bit larger than they expected. A storage bag is included. Listed weight is 780 g.

Pros

  • 4.4 from 3,602 amazon.co.uk reviews at £7.10
  • Hook-and-loop and a hem cord
  • Several UK reviews say rain stayed off
  • Storage bag included
  • Listing says to cool the grill first

Cons

  • One UK review says light rain came through
  • Cloth described as very thin, with doubts it lasts a summer
  • Title size 145 cm and item line 155 x 71 x 120 cm disagree

Best for: A grill around the 145 x 61 x 117 cm title size when you want the lowest price here and will check both size lines before you order.

Less suitable: A cover you expect to last several winters, or a tight fit if the 155 cm item line is the cloth that arrives.

Common questions

Does the AZOMKER listing say the cover is waterproof?

Does AZOMKER say to let the grill cool?

Yes. The bullets say to use the cover after the grill has cooled down.

LEUOSO 145 cm cover

Rank 6

LEUOSO 145 cm cover

∼£17

Our view

The LEUOSO listing is aimed at most 3–4 burner gas barbecues at 145 x 61 x 117 cm, and it scores 4.4 from 1,169 amazon.co.uk reviews at £16.99. Two side handles and a zippered storage bag are in the bullets, and the hem is an adjustable elastic rope. Reviewers mention a large Ninja, and a few report several years of use; some call it waterproof. Others say the cloth is thin, one likening it to a black bin bag with a silver lining, and at least two reviews say it was not waterproof. The drawstring is a repeated fault: broken, or sewn into the seam so it will not cinch, and wind can lift the light cover. The title allows 1–2 cm of measuring error, while the item line says 145 x 65 x 117 cm, and some buyers found it larger than the title size. There is no cool-down line in the bullets. Listed weight is 420 g.

Pros

  • Two side handles for fitting
  • Zippered storage bag
  • 4.4 from 1,169 reviews
  • A few reviews report several years of use

Cons

  • Drawstring broken or sewn into the seam
  • Thin cloth; not waterproof in at least two reviews
  • No cool-down warning in the bullets
  • Wind can lift a light cover

Best for: A 3–4 burner gas barbecue near 145 x 61 x 117 cm when you want handles and a zip bag and will check the hem cord on arrival.

Less suitable: A windy patio if the drawstring will not cinch, or a buyer who needs a cool-down warning written on the listing.

ASHATA 145 cm cover

Rank 7

ASHATA 145 cm cover

∼£21

Our view

The ASHATA cover is listed at 145 x 61 x 117 cm and £20.68, with 4.4 from 35 amazon.co.uk reviews. Only eight review blocks are in the file, two of them from the United Kingdom. One UK note says “Good cover” and nothing more. The other says the cloth is very thin and was cut on the sharp edges of a brick-built station. A French review says the top is much more domed than the rectangular photo, so it was less useful on a plancha, and that the tighten cord does not slide freely. An Italian review says the sun broke the fabric down after about two years. The bullets claim polyester with a PU coating and a hem rope. A storage bag and a cool-down warning are not named, and at 310 g this is a lightly reviewed cover at the top of the price range here.

Pros

  • Title and item line both say 145 x 61 x 117 cm
  • PU-coated polyester claimed
  • Built-in hem rope
  • One UK review calls it a good cover

Cons

  • Only 35 reviews, and only two UK blocks in the file
  • UK review: thin cloth cut on a brick-built station
  • £20.68 with no storage bag named
  • Hem cord does not slide freely in one review

Best for: A 145 x 61 x 117 cm grill only if you accept a 35-review sample and a soft cloth.

Less suitable: A brick or sharp-edged station, a plancha that needs a flat top, or a buyer comparing it with covers that have a thousand reviews at a lower price.

YOTOM 147 cm cover

Rank 8

YOTOM 147 cm cover

Our view

The YOTOM cover is listed at 147 x 61 x 117 cm and £7.99, with 4.3 from 1,794 amazon.co.uk reviews. UK reviewers say it covers a 4-burner and, in one review, a 6-burner with side wings, and that rain beaded or the barbecue stayed dry. They mention Velcro or adjustable straps, and a zip storage bag, while the bullets say the cover folds into a bag. More than one review says the barbecue filled with water, or that the cover stopped shedding rain after a few months. The cloth is called thin, it flaps, and at least one blew off until an extra cord was added. The picture is criticised for a tighter fit and for logos that are not on the product, especially on a barrel barbecue. Listed weight is 431 g, and there is no cool-down line.

Pros

  • 147 x 61 x 117 cm, large enough for a 4-burner in reviews
  • 4.3 from 1,794 reviews at £7.99
  • Adjustable cord at the bottom
  • Positive reviews say rain beaded

Cons

  • Barbecue filled with water in more than one review
  • Light cover that blew off until an extra cord was added
  • Picture shows a tighter fit than buyers received
  • No cool-down warning in the bullets

Best for: A wide gas grill near 147 cm when a low price matters and you will add a tie in wind.

Less suitable: A barrel barbecue that needs a shaped cover, or a spot where water sitting in the burners would be a problem.

Fdit size 1 cover

Rank 9

Fdit size 1 cover

∼£20

Our view

The Fdit cover is the compact size in this set, listed at 100 x 66 x 80 cm and £20.04, with 4.1 from 226 amazon.co.uk reviews. UK comments in the file, mostly from 2020 and 2021, cluster on size: smaller than the label, and in one case used on a garden chair. Later blocks from Italy, France and Spain repeat that the measurements do not match the photo or the stated 100 x 66 x 80 cm. A minority say it fits and that the elastic cord helps it cling, and at least one review mentions a zip pouch. Another says water came through after the first rain, and the shape is described as more domed than the rectangular photo. At 224 g it is the lightest cover here. The bullets name hasp straps and an elastic rope, with no cool-down line and no separate storage bag named as an extra.

Pros

  • Stated size 100 x 66 x 80 cm
  • Hasp straps and an adjustable elastic rope
  • Folds for carrying
  • Elastic cord praised for clinging in some reviews

Cons

  • UK reviews say it arrived smaller than advertised
  • 4.1 from 226 reviews, the lowest star line in this set
  • Thin fabric; water through after the first rain in one review
  • £20.04 at a listed weight of 224 g

Best for: A very small barbecue or smoker only after you measure under 100 x 66 x 80 cm and allow for reviews that say it arrived smaller.

Less suitable: A standard 145 cm gas barbecue, or a buyer paying £20.04 for a cover the file describes as undersize.

Common questions

What size is the Fdit cover in the saved listing?

The item-dimensions line says 100 x 66 x 80 cm. The title calls it Size 1. UK reviews in the file say the cover was smaller than advertised.

Does Fdit include straps?

Yes. The bullets describe hasp strips on both sides and an adjustable elastic rope. The title also says the cover is foldable.

Does the Fdit listing warn you to let the grill cool?

No cool-down line is in the bullets. Cleaning is described as hosing the cover and drying it in the sun.

How we compared

Nine amazon.co.uk grill-case listings carry a card score that follows the star line: the rating divided by 5, times 100, which is the same as the star rating times 20. A 4.6 is 92, a 4.4 is 88, a 4.3 is 86 and a 4.1 is 82. Review count does not change that number. The two BEEWAY sizes print almost the same 4.4 from 4,564 and 4,563, and their review text matches, so those scores are not two separate soak tests. The weights below are the buying checks, in this order. They are not extra points on top of the star score. The top pick is the Yimomoyi 117 cm cover, score 92, because the listing states 420D Oxford, a cool-down line and 1,076 reviews. Kauytt also scores 92, from 4.6 and 211 reviews, and takes no badge. Best value is the AZOMKER 145 cm cover at about £7.10, score 88 from 4.4 and 3,602 reviews. This is not a lab soak. Shelf prices were taken from the display file for this comparison.

Grill case buying guide

Measure the grill before you compare the star line. Length, depth and closed height, including shelves that stay out, decide whether a universal rectangle can cinch. If the title size and the item-dimensions line disagree, neither number is confirmed. A hem cord or side straps have to pull the spare cloth in, and a stated denier beats a heavy-duty slogan. None of the nine listings claims an air vent or taped seams. Shelf prices in this set run from about £7.10 to about £20.68.

What is a grill case?

A grill case, also searched as a BBQ cover or a barbecue cover, is a soft rectangle of coated cloth that drops over a barbecue left on a patio. Universal rectangles dominate the covers sold this way. A hooded gas grill wants a closed height near 110–120 cm. A non-hooded 3-burner is shorter: one UK dealer lists that shape at 131 x 60 x 82 cm. Fitted covers with a side vent, and round covers for kettle barbecues, are different products. A utensil bag is not a grill case.

Best for

  • A hooded gas barbecue on an open patio, once the tape is near 145 cm or 117 cm
  • A household replacing a cover that failed after one winter, who will read the thin-cloth reviews

Not ideal for

  • A compact grill or flatbed that would sit inside a much larger rectangle
  • Storage for a connected LPG cylinder, or a cover pulled over a warm grill

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Buying from the photograph

The picture can show a tighter fit, a logo or a shape the cloth does not have. Use the tape and both size lines. Shelves that stay out have to be inside the measurement.

  2. 2

Treating the two BEEWAY sizes as one item

145 x 61 x 120 cm and 132 x 66 x 109 cm are different title sizes. The saved listings share an image URL and near-duplicate review text. The star line is not a separate test of the smaller cut.

  3. 3

    Covering a warm, wet grill

None of these covers claims an air vent. Cloth with no vent traps damp. Let the barbecue cool to the touch, and disconnect the gas. A cover is not a place to hide a connected LPG cylinder.

What to weigh up

Stated size

High

Stated size is the first check, because a cover that misses the lid or a shelf does not protect the grill. Measure length, depth and height, and include side shelves that do not fold away. Write those three numbers down before you open a listing. A hooded gas grill in this category wants a closed height near 110–120 cm. A non-hooded 3-burner is a shorter rectangle: one UK dealer lists 131 x 60 x 82 cm for that shape. A compact grill is worse off inside a cover that swamps it.

Fastening and fabric

High

Fastening and fabric decide whether the size you measured stays on the grill through a wet, windy week. Look for side straps plus a hem cord. A broken cord, or a cord sewn into the seam so it will not cinch, is a common review fault. A light cover lifts when the hem will not pull in. Straps that do not meet are the same problem from the side. Denier and a coating are the cloth facts, and only when the listing states them. 210D Oxford and 420D Oxford are different claims.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

A hooded gas barbecue on the patio

You need a cover near 145 x 61 x 117 cm and a hem that stays put. The AZOMKER cover is about £7.10, at 4.4 from 3,602 reviews, score 88, with hook-and-loop, a hem cord and a cool-down line. The title and the item line disagree, 145 cm against 155 x 71 x 120 cm, so measure first. It is the best value.

Replacing a cover after one winter

You have already had a thin cover fail, and you want the cloth claim and the review themes before the slogan. The Yimomoyi cover is about £9.39, at 4.6 from 1,076 reviews, score 92, with 420D Oxford stated and a cool-down line. The title size is 117 x 66 x 117 cm. The item line is the packed size. It is the top pick.

A compact grill, not a 145 cm hood

A 145 cm cover will swamp a short grill. The BEEWAY 132 cm cover is about £11.89, at 4.4 from 4,563 reviews, score 88, listed at 132 x 66 x 109 cm. Those reviews nearly duplicate the 145 cm BEEWAY file. Fdit states 100 x 66 x 80 cm at about £20.04, and UK reviews say it arrived smaller than advertised.

Common questions about Grill cases

Which grill case is the top pick for 2026?
The top pick is the Yimomoyi cover at a title size of 117 x 66 x 117 cm, about £9.39. It is 4.6 from 1,076 amazon.co.uk reviews, score 92, and the listing states 420D Oxford plus a cool-down line. Kauytt prints the same 4.6 and the same score from 211 reviews, a much smaller sample, at 145 cm. Measure before you treat 117 cm as your grill.
How much does a grill case cost?
In this set the amazon.co.uk shelf prices run from about £7.10 to about £20.68. Entry, as a rule of thumb from this batch, is about £7–£15. Mid is about £16–£40, and only two covers here sit just over £20. A higher price inside that span does not buy an air vent or taped seams. None of the nine says either. Named covers outside this set were seen nearer £40–£80.
What should you measure before you order a grill case?
Measure length, depth and closed height, including shelves that stay out. Compare that tape with the title size and with the item-dimensions line, because those two lines disagree on some pages. A little spare cloth cinches. A lot of spare cloth ponds and blows. Then check the hem cord or side straps, and any denier or PU or PVC coating the listing actually states. Heavy duty without a figure is a slogan.
Should the barbecue be cool before you cover it?
Yes. Let it cool to the touch. Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service says to turn the cylinder off before the controls and to let the barbecue cool before you move it. Camping Gas says never cover a hot or warm barbecue and to disconnect the gas. Cloth with no vent traps damp, and none of these nine claims an air vent. Fitting steps are in the how to fit a grill case.
Does a waterproof claim mean the grill stays dry?
Every cover here claims to be waterproof. No hydrostatic head or IP rating is in the files, so that word is a listing claim, not a certificate. UK reviews on several listings praise rain staying off, and other reviews on the same listings say light rain or heavy rain came through. A waterproof claim is part of satisfactory quality under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 9. It is not proof of taped seams.
Are two covers with the same stars the same product?
No. The two BEEWAY listings are 145 x 61 x 120 cm and 132 x 66 x 109 cm. Their saved review text matches closely, and they share an image URL, so the star lines are not two separate long-term tests. Use the title size that is closer to your tape. A shared review pool is still useful for cloth and straps. It is not proof that the smaller cut was tested on its own.
Is a grill case a substitute for choosing the barbecue?
No. A grill case only covers a barbecue you already own. If you are still choosing a hooded gas grill, start with the gas BBQ comparison. Hooded gas grills in this cover category want a closed height near 110–120 cm, and shelves that do not fold have to be inside the tape. A cover is not storage for a connected LPG cylinder, and it is not a kettle-shaped cover.

Our verdict

The top pick is the Yimomoyi 117 cm cover at about £9.39. It scores 92 from 4.6 and 1,076 amazon.co.uk reviews, with 420D Oxford stated, side straps, a hem rope, a storage bag and a cool-down line. The item-dimensions line is the packed size, 21 x 5.5 x 28 cm, and one review had the strap stitching rip on first use. Kauytt also scores 92, from 4.6 and 211 reviews, and takes no badge. The best value is the AZOMKER 145 cm cover at about £7.10, score 88 from 4.4 and 3,602 reviews, with hook-and-loop and a hem cord. Its title size and item line disagree. None of these scores is a lab soak, and none of the nine claims an air vent or taped seams.
