BBQ cover size guide for the grill you already own

Updated: 23 October 2026

The barbecue is already on the patio, and the cover in the photo is a tidy rectangle. A BBQ cover size guide starts with a tape on the grill you have, then with the denier and the fastenings the listing states. Write down length, depth and closed height, and treat a second size line as a conflict until you have checked it. The [Grill case comparison](/hub/grills-and-barbecues/grill-case) ranks the nine amazon.co.uk covers we kept, from £7.10 to £20.68. This page does not crown one of them. We used those listings and public UK sources, with no lab test. A purchase through our links can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Measure length, depth and closed height

Length is the width across the front with side shelves left out, depth runs from the handles to the back of the hood, and height stops at the closed lid. A hooded grill in this range often needs 110 to 120 cm of height. Six listings sit near 145 to 147 cm long. BEEWAY's other cover is 132 x 66 x 109 cm, and Fdit's 100 x 66 x 80 cm is the small one that UK reviews found even smaller. A little spare cloth cinches, and too much of it ponds. The gas BBQ cover page takes the cylinder.

Read the title size against the item line

The title and the item-dimensions line on amazon.co.uk sometimes describe different things, so measure before you trust either. AZOMKER's title says 145 x 61 x 117 cm and the item line says 155 x 71 x 120 cm, about 10 cm more on each axis, at £7.10 for PU-lined Oxford listed at 780 g. Yimomoyi's title says 117 x 66 x 117 cm, with a 420D claim, at £9.39, while the item line says 21 x 5.5 x 28 cm. That second line is a packed parcel, and it will not cover a barbecue. If the page still will not say which figure is the open cover, choose a listing whose centimetres agree.

Fabric, coating and the heavy-duty slogan

Denier is the yarn weight printed on the listing, and we did not weigh or hose these covers. The usual figure in this set is 210D Oxford polyester. BEEWAY states 210D on both sizes, and Kauytt states 210D with a PVC lining at £9.99. Yimomoyi states 420D, on the shorter 117 cm cover. Oxford is the weave. PU and PVC are coatings: AZOMKER is PU-lined, and ASHATA states PU. A coating can shed a shower and still hold damp against the steel. YOTOM at £7.99 states Oxford and 147 x 61 x 117 cm without a denier in the fields we kept.

Straps, hem cord, bag, and no vent

Side straps, often hook-and-loop, and a hem cord, also called a drawstring, are the two fastenings these listings actually name. Straps stop the sides lifting, and the cord pulls the bottom in so wind stays outside. AZOMKER states hook-and-loop plus a drawstring. BEEWAY's 145 cm cover and Yimomoyi state self-stick straps and a tighten rope. Kauytt states a drawstring. ASHATA states a tighten rope and, in the fields we kept, no side straps. LEUOSO states an elastic hem rope, two handles and a zip storage bag. None of the nine names a vent or taped seams. That damp question sits on the waterproof or breathable page.

What you can expect for the money

These bands are a rule of thumb from the amazon.co.uk prices in this batch, not a market-size study. About £7 to £15 holds most of the nine: AZOMKER £7.10, YOTOM £7.99, Yimomoyi £9.39, Kauytt £9.99, and both BEEWAY covers at £11.88 and £11.89. LEUOSO at £16.99 is the one from this set in the middle band. Fdit at £20.04 and ASHATA at £20.68 are the dearest in this set. Nothing from £7 to £21 here states a vent. With the three measurements written down, the best BBQ cover page sorts these nine by who each one suits.

Common questions

Do I include side shelves?
Include a shelf that stays out under the cover. Camping Gas says to measure shelves that do not fold, and that includes a folding shelf you never fold. Leave out a shelf you always drop first. If you measure the shelves down and then leave them up, the cloth stops on the shelf and the hood stays in the rain.
Is 145 x 61 x 117 cm a 3–4 burner cover?
It is a common size on AZOMKER, Kauytt, LEUOSO and ASHATA. It suits a hooded barbecue under about 117 cm high and under about 145 cm wide with the shelves you leave out. A flatbed near 82 cm high needs a different cover. Match the tape, and treat the burner count as a label.
Is 210D enough, or do I need 420D?
210D is what both BEEWAY sizes and Kauytt print. 420D is Yimomoyi's claim on a 117 cm cover. The higher figure can mean a heavier yarn, and we have not tested it. It does not add a vent or length. Choose 420D when the grill fits inside 117 cm.
Does heavy duty mean thick cloth?
It means thick cloth only when a denier, a coating and a weight sit beside the phrase. Alone it is a slogan, and reviews in this set often describe thin cloth under a heavy-duty title. AZOMKER at least states a PU lining and 780 g. Read the denier where it is printed. A storage bag and a drawstring do not add thickness.
What can I do if the cover is not as described?
Section 9 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 includes description and durability in satisfactory quality, so a waterproof or heavy-duty claim is part of the bargain. Use the amazon.co.uk returns route and keep the listing text. Wrong centimetres, after you skipped the tape, are a straightforward return. A smell of gas needs someone competent with LPG.
