PVC adhesive comparison 2026

The best PVC adhesives, compared.

Top pick: Allony PVC glue 170 g Best value: GleamGlee air mattress patch kit 80 ml – The only row under £15 with at least 100 amazon.co.uk reviews and a household inflatable job: about £8.99, 4.2 from 177 reviews. Updated 22 October 2026.

PVC adhesive is several products in a UK shop. It can be a solvent cement for rigid PVC-U pipe, a flexible patch kit for an air bed or paddling pool, a two-part for a PVC inflatable boat, or a film adhesive that also names PVC pond liner. You tell them apart by the job on the tin, not by strong or waterproof. A drinking-water joint in England and Wales has to meet the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999. Approval is for a named cement and a named cure. A marketplace bullet is not that approval, and a general listing does not print a pressure class. Flexible repairs fail when the face is dirty, the bottle is cold, or the item is inflated too soon. Do not average different cure times, and do not treat a long materials list as a specification. The [PVC adhesive buying guide](/hub/fillers-adhesives-and-sprays/pvc-adhesive/sub/pvc-adhesive-buying-guide) separates rigid cement, a patch kit, a two-part and a liner adhesive.

The best PVC adhesives in detail

Allony PVC glue 170 g

Rank 1

Allony PVC glue 170 g

∼£10

Our view

Across three amazon.co.uk ratings the Allony bottle sits at 5.0 and about £9.99, sold for air mattresses, pools, tents, tarpaulins and PVC holes, with a brush in the cap and a 24-hour cure in the bullet. The only review says 'Very nice' and names no repair, so that star line does not describe a held patch. The listing prints both 170 g and 170 ml, and the included-components field says no while a bullet mentions a patch for larger holes. Nothing in the reviews shows this bottle on rigid pipe. Treat it as a lightly reviewed inflatable contact glue, and do not let three ratings outrank a kit with a described repair.

Pros

  • About £9.99 bottle with a brush in the cap and a 24-hour cure bullet
  • Jobs named include air mattresses, pools, tents and tarpaulins
  • 5.0 from 3 amazon.co.uk ratings

Cons

  • Only one review, and it names no repair
  • 170 g and 170 ml are both printed
  • Included-components says no, while a bullet mentions a patch

Best for: You want a small inflatable contact bottle and you will not treat three ratings as a test of a patch.

Less suitable: A waste pipe, a boat tube that needs a two-part, or a buy based on the 5.0 alone.

Common questions

Does the listing say this is for air mattresses?

Yes. The bullets name air mattresses, inflatable pools, tents, tarpaulins, and RV roofs. A kayak question is on the page and is not answered.

How long does the listing say it takes to cure?

The kit bullet says wait 24 hours for a complete cure. There is no separate skin-time field.

Is a patch in the box?

The included-components field says no. A bullet says the brush is for small cracks and a patch is for larger holes. Number of pieces is 2.

Soudal hard PVC glue 100 ml

Rank 2

Soudal hard PVC glue 100 ml

Our view

The jar titled as Soudal hard PVC glue is about £6.99 for 100 ml, ready to use, with a brush in the cap and a full cure of 24 hours. The bullets limit it to hard PVC pipes, fittings, sheet and rigid parts, including hot and cold water, drainage and waste. The amazon.co.uk line is 5.0 from one review, and there is no review text at all, so there is no joint you can read about. The brand field says FASTFIX Where the trade saves while the title and manufacturer say Soudal, and the colour is white. Flexible inflatables are not named. A single empty star line is not a reason to put this jar on a mains joint you cannot match to an approval.

Pros

  • 100 ml ready-to-use jar at about £6.99 with a brush in the cap
  • Bullets name hard PVC pipe, fittings and sheet, including drainage and waste
  • Full cure stated as 24 hours, with no mixing step

Cons

  • 5.0 from one review and no review text
  • Brand field says FASTFIX while the title says Soudal
  • No WRAS number on this listing, despite water uses on the bullets

Best for: A rigid hard-PVC fitting when you will follow that pipe's own jointing instructions and you do not need a reviewed sample.

Less suitable: An air bed, a paddling pool, or a drinking-water joint you need to match to a named approval.

Common questions

Is this for every kind of PVC?

The bullets limit it to hard PVC: pipes, fittings, sheet, and rigid components, including hot and cold water, drainage, and waste. Flexible inflatables are not named.

Does it need mixing?

No. The listing says it is ready to use, with a brush in the cap, and a full cure of 24 hours.

Why do two brand names appear?

The title and manufacturer say Soudal. The brand field says FASTFIX Where the trade saves. No review text is recorded. The star line is 5.0 from 1 review. That is not an approval.

KKwoter PVC glue, 2 x 60 ml

Rank 3

KKwoter PVC glue, 2 x 60 ml

Our view

The KKwoter pack is about £7.99 and scores 4.7 from 29 amazon.co.uk reviews, with nine United Kingdom reviews. One small hole in a child's inflatable unicorn was still holding after about 36 hours, and another buyer closed a tear at the handle of a PVC space hopper. The title says two 60 ml bottles and a 48-hour wait, with a needle tip that one reviewer used for 3D-print gluing because a wire insert stopped it clogging. The item weight is 50 g, which does not confirm a 120 ml fill, and one buyer called the hold too weak for craft pieces that must stay stuck. A separate UK review used it on 20 mm uPVC conduit; that is a review, not a pipe-cement claim, and the underwater bullet is not a reason to skip the 48-hour wait.

Pros

  • 4.7 from 29 reviews, with UK notes on a unicorn inflatable and a space hopper
  • Needle tip; one review said a wire insert kept it from clogging
  • Listing cure is 48 hours, and one small hole was left about 36 hours

Cons

  • Item weight is 50 g against a 2 × 60 ml title
  • One buyer said the hold was weak on craft pieces
  • A conduit repair in one review is not a solvent-weld specification
  • A bullet says underwater, while the cure line is 48 hours

Best for: A small flexible PVC hole when you can leave the item soft for the stated 48 hours and you accept the fill conflict.

Less suitable: Rigid pressure pipe, or a job that needs a confirmed 120 ml of cement.

Common questions

Does the listing say it works on a hot tub?

The title names hot tubs and spa pools. The cure bullet is 48 hours. There is no separate hot-tub test on the listing.

Can the listing support a pipe joint?

The listing is an inflatable patch kit. It does not name rigid pipe. One UK review used it on 20 mm uPVC conduit. That is a review, not a pipe-cement claim.

How do you apply it?

The bullets say clean, apply evenly through an anti-clogging needle tip, and wait 48 hours. No mixing step is printed.

EPN vinyl cement 7.6 fl oz

Rank 4

EPN vinyl cement 7.6 fl oz

∼£20

Our view

EPN's vinyl cement is about £19.99 for 7.6 fl oz, about 225 ml, with 15 patches and a brush, and the listing says 24 hours before inflation or water. It scores 4.6 from 43 amazon.co.uk reviews, but only two of the reviews are United Kingdom: one paddling-pool tear that had not leaked again at the time of writing, and one about crossbow bolts. Several other reviews describe arrow fletching or a 35 g precision-tip bottle, which is a different product from this can. A US pool-cover patch peeled after being clamped for more than a day, with the cement looking thin on the vinyl. The jobs named are inflatables, pool liners, kayaks, boats, tarps, tents and floats, and the indoor-use question on the page is unanswered. Use the 24-hour line for this can only if you are looking at the vinyl kit, not the fletching comments.

Pros

  • 7.6 fl oz can, 15 patches and a brush at about £19.99, with a 24-hour cure
  • One UK paddling-pool tear had not leaked again when that review was written
  • Bullets name PVC, vinyl and pool liners, and a thin coat on a clean dry face

Cons

  • Much of the 43-review count is fletching glue or a 35 g bottle, not this can
  • Only two United Kingdom reviews are recorded
  • One US pool-cover patch peeled after clamping, with a thin film
  • Indoor use is asked on the page and not answered

Best for: A vinyl or PVC inflatable or pool liner when you want more patch area than an 80 ml kit and you will ignore fletching reviews.

Less suitable: A pipe joint, or a decision based on arrow-vane comments in the same reviews.

Common questions

How long before it can go back in the water?

The listing says allow 24 hours of curing before inflation or water contact, after a thin coat on a clean, dry surface.

Does the listing say it can be used indoors?

That question is on the page and is not answered. The jobs named are inflatables, pool liners, kayaks, boats, tarps, tents, and floats.

Are all 43 reviews about this can?

No. Two UK reviews are a paddling-pool tear and crossbow bolts. Several US reviews describe arrow fletching or a 35 g precision-tip bottle. One US pool-cover patch peeled off after clamping.

XINGHUO PVC pipe adhesive 170 ml

Rank 5

XINGHUO PVC pipe adhesive 170 ml

∼£14

Our view

XINGHUO's pipe adhesive, model HL-EU0072, is about £13.99 and scores 4.6 from 10 amazon.co.uk reviews, with a 24-hour cure and an integrated brush on the bullets. The title says 170 g while the unit count and volume say 170 ml, and the item weight is 170 g. Eight reviews are recorded, from Spain, Germany and France, and none is marked United Kingdom: they mention the brush, a bidet waste that had not moved, and a transparent colour that hides squeeze-out. One French note said the joints had not leaked but had not been pressure-tested. Outdoor use and surface preparation are questions on the page with no listing answer. Those European comments are not United Kingdom opinion, and the tin is not a reviewed UK sample for a drinking-water main.

Pros

  • Integrated brush described in the non-UK reviews as cleaner than a separate tool
  • 24-hour cure bullet for PVC pipes and fittings
  • 4.6 from 10 ratings, with no repeated defect in the eight reviews

Cons

  • No United Kingdom review text
  • Title says 170 g and the volume field says 170 ml
  • Included components say no while a bullet describes the brush
  • Outdoor use and surface preparation are unanswered on the listing

Best for: A small indoor PVC fitting if you accept reviews with no UK text and you will still follow a proper solvent-weld sequence.

Less suitable: A mains joint, an inflatable, or any claim that the 4.6 line is British experience.

Common questions

The question is on the page and is not answered. The bullets name indoor sanitary installation and repair, plus a full cure of 24 hours.

Does it say how to prepare the pipe?

The preparation question is unanswered. There is no primer line. The applicator is an integrated brush.

Are there UK reviews?

No. Eight reviews are from Spain, Germany, and France. They mention the brush and pipe fittings. The star line is 4.6 from 10. Those comments are not United Kingdom opinion.

Polymarine 2-part boat adhesive 250 ml

Rank 6

Polymarine 2-part boat adhesive 250 ml

∼£30

Our view

Polymarine's 250 ml two-part is about £29.75 and scores 4.4 from 103 amazon.co.uk reviews, with 21 United Kingdom reviews. Reviewers describe a large tear in an inflatable kayak, a mouse chew of about 3 cm on a dinghy patched inside and outside, RIB patches, rod-holder mounts and rowlocks, and they call it a lasting repair when the instructions were followed. The hardener is a small amount and hard to measure, one order arrived with none so the adhesive could not be used, and once the faces meet you cannot slide the patch. One buyer said a rubber tender was the wrong material and that the product only welds PVC. The listing prints Waterproof and Not water resistant on the same page, and it gives no cure time, so the maker's 6 hours before pressure, 48-hour full cure and 7-day maximum strength stay on the maker's sheet rather than on this amazon clock. For a PVC inflatable boat it is the reviewed two-part in this comparison when the curative is in the box; it is the wrong tin for Hypalon and an expensive way to cover a pinhole a patch kit can reach.

Pros

  • 4.4 from 103 reviews, with UK notes on kayak tears, a dinghy, RIBs and rowlocks
  • 250 ml two-part at about £29.75, aimed at listed PVC inflatable boats
  • Reviewers who followed the instructions called the repair lasting

Cons

  • One order had no hardener, and other buyers found the small pack hard to measure
  • No second chance to reposition once the faces meet
  • Listing prints Waterproof and Not water resistant, and no cure time
  • One buyer said a rubber tender was the wrong material

Best for: A PVC inflatable boat tube when the curative is in the box and you can follow the maker's dry, no-flame method.

Less suitable: Hypalon or a rubber tender, a missing hardener, or a pinhole a patch kit can cover.

Common questions

Does the listing cover every inflatable boat?

No. A bullet says use only on listed PVC inflatables, names brands such as Zodiac and Sevylor, and says check the material. The title also says polyurethane and PU-coated.

Is it waterproof?

The listing prints both. Special feature is Waterproof. Water resistance level is Not water resistant. There is no cure time.

What did UK reviews say about the hardener?

Reviews describe kayak tears, a dinghy, RIBs, and rowlocks. One order had no hardener. Another said the hardener is a small amount and hard to measure. One buyer said a rubber tender was the wrong material.

Oase UniFix+ 290 ml

Rank 7

Oase UniFix+ 290 ml

∼£28

Our view

Oase UniFix+ is a 290 ml grey cartridge at about £27.83, model 57148, scoring 4.3 from 411 amazon.co.uk reviews. UK buyers describe a tear in the top of a pond liner held after two layers and a couple of days, a Firestone Geosmart overflow with spare liner front and back, and rubber-to-rubber or stone-gravel strips stuck to liner. The listing says you process it dry and above the water; one UK review claimed it sticks underwater, and a French review said a finger dab under water did not hold. The cartridge is hard to push, reviewers needed a mastic gun, and UK and German reviews say the nozzle was missing. The material field says PVA while the bullets name EPDM, rubber or PVC film, and the cure field says 24 hours against a bullet of 24–48 hours. It is the top pick in this comparison for a small dry pond-film repair, not for an air bed and not for a solvent-welded pipe. The listing warns of an organotin that may cause an allergic reaction.

Pros

  • 4.3 from 411 reviews, with UK pond-liner tears and liner-to-stone jobs that held
  • 290 ml cartridge at about £27.83, with about 7 m coverage on the bullet
  • Listing tells you to apply dry and above the water
  • Names EPDM, rubber or PVC film, plus stone, metal or plastic

Cons

  • Nozzle missing in UK and German reviews, and the cartridge is hard to push without a gun
  • Material field says PVA, which fights the film bullets
  • Cure field says 24 hours and the bullet says 24–48 hours
  • A finger dab under water did not hold in one review, and it sticks to skin

Best for: A small dry repair on pond liner or PVC film when you have a mastic gun and a nozzle, and you can keep the film out of the water while it cures.

Less suitable: An air bed, a paddling-pool skin, a pressure pipe, or a full sheet seam that needs a dedicated film adhesive.

Common questions

Is UniFix+ a PVC pipe adhesive?

No. The item type is universal adhesive and the surface field is pond liner. PVC appears as one film, with EPDM and rubber.

Can it be applied under water?

The listing says process it dry and above the water, which then gives the bond under water. One UK review said it sticks underwater. A French review said a finger dab under water did not hold.

What is the cure time?

The full-cure field says 24 hours. The bullet says 24–48 hours. Coverage is about 7 m. The listing warns it contains an organotin and may cause an allergic reaction.

Bond It SolvoBond uPVC 6200 100 ml

Rank 8

Bond It SolvoBond uPVC 6200 100 ml

Our view

Bond It SolvoBond uPVC 6200 is a 100 ml solvent cement at about £7.00, scoring 4.3 from 21 amazon.co.uk reviews. The bullets name uPVC, PVC, ABS and acrylic, a built-in brush, and a waterproof solvent weld for potable-water pipes, cold-water plumbing, low-pressure drainage and guttering, with no pressure figure and no cure time in hours. Of the three United Kingdom reviews, two say it does what the listing states and do not describe a joint, and one says the brush in the lid broke immediately. The primer line applies to ABS only, not to PVC or uPVC. This listing has no WRAS number for the tin, so a drinking-water bullet is not an approval. It is the reviewed rigid-pipe cement in this comparison if your pipe is the plastic the tin names, and a snapped brush means you may need another applicator on the first joint.

Pros

  • About £7.00 for 100 ml, 4.3 from 21 reviews, model BDSB6201
  • Bullets name uPVC pipe, cold water, drainage and guttering
  • Built-in brush; two of three UK reviews say it does what the listing states

Cons

  • One of three UK reviews says the lid brush broke immediately
  • No cure time in hours and no PN class on the listing
  • No WRAS number on this listing, despite the potable-water bullet
  • Only three review texts sit behind the count of 21

Best for: A rigid uPVC waste, gutter or cold-water fitting when you will follow that pipe's jointing sheet and you are not treating this page as an approval.

Less suitable: An air bed, a mains joint you cannot match to a named cement and cure, or a job that needs the lid brush to survive the first dip.

Common questions

Three reviews are recorded. Two say it does what it states. One says the brush in the lid broke immediately. The star line is 4.3 from 21.

XINGHUO inflatable boat glue 170 g

Rank 9

XINGHUO inflatable boat glue 170 g

Our view

XINGHUO's clear 170 g inflatable-boat bottle is about £7.99 and scores 4.3 from five amazon.co.uk reviews, with three United Kingdom reviews. One describes the lid brush as precise and says the cured film stayed flexible as the item inflated and deflated. Another buyer said it did not hold, and was not sure whether that was the glue or the way it was applied. A third review, which reads like a product description, still records a strong smell and tells you to work in a ventilated space rather than inside a tent. The bullets name rubber, ceramic, glass, metal, fabric, paper and wood as well as inflatables, which is a wide list rather than a specification, and they give no cure time in hours. The included-components field says no while a bullet says the brush is included.

Pros

  • About £7.99 clear bottle, model HL-UK010, with a lid brush described in the reviews
  • One UK account says the cured film flexes as the item is inflated and deflated
  • Waterproof-after-cure claim on the bullets

Cons

  • 4.3 from only five reviews, and one buyer said it did not hold
  • Strong smell; that review wants a ventilated space
  • No cure time in hours
  • Included-components says no while a bullet names the brush

Best for: A small inflatable repair if you already ventilate solvent work and you will not treat the materials list as a specification.

Less suitable: A rigid pipe joint, or a boat tear you cannot afford to lose if the bond fails.

Common questions

Does the listing say it works on rubber?

Yes. Rubber is in the materials bullet, with plastic, ceramic, glass, metal, fabric, paper, and wood. The page question is not answered separately. That list is not a specification.

Is a cure time given?

No hour figure. The bullets say the layer is waterproof after drying and curing, and that it stays flexible when the item is bent or folded.

What did UK reviews say about the smell?

One of the three UK reviews says the glue smells strongly and is better used in a ventilated space. Another buyer said it did not hold.

GleamGlee air mattress patch kit 80 ml

Rank 10

GleamGlee air mattress patch kit 80 ml

Our view

GleamGlee's 80 ml kit is about £8.99 and carries 4.2 from 177 amazon.co.uk reviews, the largest inflatable-repair review count in this comparison. UK buyers report paddling pools, an inflatable spa, air-bed pinholes and pet-toy punctures that held after a cure, and several said the tube was enough for more than one patch. The squeegee and precision applicator are what reviewers used to spread the glue and flatten the patch. The listing does not give that cure in hours, so you cannot borrow 24 hours from another tin and call it this kit's clock. Several UK buyers still had an air-bed leak, or said the glue did not stick, and the patches are called thin — one buyer said they suit pool toys rather than a dinghy. One repair only stuck after the bottle was warmed to room temperature, and the included-components field names only the glue while the bullets list 15 patches plus tools. It is the best value here for a small vinyl or PVC inflatable when you can leave it uninflated, not a solvent weld for waste pipe.

Pros

  • 4.2 from 177 reviews, with UK reports of pools, a spa and pinholes that held
  • About £8.99 for 80 ml plus patches, a squeegee and an applicator in the bullets
  • Several buyers said one tube covered more than one repair
  • Clear patches and clear-drying glue described as tidy

Cons

  • Several UK air-bed repairs still leaked or did not stick
  • Patches called thin, and one buyer would not use them on a dinghy
  • No cure time in hours on the listing
  • Included-components field names only the 80 ml glue

Best for: A paddling pool, spa or small vinyl puncture when you can clean the face, warm a cold bottle, and leave it uninflated.

Less suitable: A rigid pipe, a large dinghy tear, or a same-evening refill.

Common questions

Does the listing say the glue is waterproof?

The bullets say it forms an airtight, flexible, waterproof bond after full curing. They do not give that cure in hours.

What is in the kit?

The bullets say 80 ml glue, 5 blue round patches, 5 clear round patches, 5 clear rectangular patches, a squeegee, and a precision applicator. The included-components field says only the glue.

Did UK reviews all succeed on air beds?

No. Many UK reviews sealed pools, a spa, and pinholes. Several said an airbed leak remained or the glue did not stick. Some called the patches thin.

How we compared

Ten amazon.co.uk PVC adhesive listings were scored on a 0–100 scale. Each score is four bands of up to 25 points. Stars are the amazon.co.uk rating times 5, rounded to the nearest whole number: 5.0 is 25, 4.7 is 24, 4.6 is 23, 4.4 and 4.3 are 22, and 4.2 is 21. Sample size scores 4 under 5 reviews, 8 for 5–9, 14 for 10–29, 18 for 30–99, 22 for 100–199, and 25 at 200 or more. Job evidence is 25 when several United Kingdom reviews describe the job on the tin, 18 for a thin UK note that still describes it, 12 when UK text names no joint, 10 when the notes are mostly another product or a one-line review with no job, 8 when the only UK line names no repair, and 0 when there is no UK review text. Usability starts at 25 and the floor is 0, so the band can lose at most 25 points. A fill or pack contradiction, water-resistance fields that contradict each other, or a material field that contradicts the bullets costs 8. Review notes mixed with a different product cost 8. An included-components line that contradicts the bullets, a repeated failure to hold, or a missing part you need before you can use it costs 6. A brand field that contradicts the title costs 5. The highest score is the top pick. Best value is the only row under £15 with at least 100 amazon.co.uk reviews and a household inflatable job. A seller bullet that names potable water, waterproofing, or an underwater repair is not scored as an approval or as a pressure class. None of the ten listings prints a PN class. Shelf prices are the amazon.co.uk figures dated 19 October 2026. The score note is dated 21 October 2026. This is not a laboratory test.

PVC adhesive buying guide

Match the tin to the plastic and the job. A waterproof word is not an approval, a pressure class, or a reason to inflate the same evening. Cure times on these listings are not interchangeable.

What is PVC adhesive?

PVC adhesive on amazon.co.uk covers four different jobs. A solvent cement welds rigid PVC-U pipe. A flexible patch kit is for air beds and paddling pools. A two-part polyurethane is for PVC inflatable boats. A pond-liner adhesive also names PVC film, and that film job sits in the [pond liner adhesive comparison](/hub/fillers-adhesives-and-sprays/pond-liner-adhesive). You tell them apart by the job, not by strong or waterproof.

Best for

  • A household inflatable you can clean, warm and leave uninflated
  • Rigid PVC-U waste or gutter when you follow that pipe's own instructions
  • A small dry pond-film repair, or a PVC boat tube when the hardener is in the box

Not ideal for

  • A mains joint you cannot match to a named cement and cure
  • Gas pipe, Hypalon, a wet face, or a same-evening refill

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    One tin for every plastic

Solvent cement welds rigid PVC-U. A patch kit is for plasticised inflatables. A two-part here is for listed PVC boats, not Hypalon. Pond film is applied dry. A wide 'also bonds' list is not a specification.

  2. 2

    The same-evening refill

Dirty faces, cold bottles and early inflation are the failures in the reviews. Do not average a 24-hour bullet with a 48-hour bullet, and do not glue a wet face because a bullet says waterproof.

  3. 3

    A 5.0 from three ratings

A short star line with no described repair does not outrank reviews that name your job. A drinking-water bullet is not a WRAS approval, and no listing here prints a PN class.

What to weigh up

Job and plastic

High

Rigid PVC-U for waste, gutter, conduit or pressure pipe takes a solvent cement. Plasticised PVC on a pool, air bed or boat takes a flexible repair film or a two-part. Pond liner takes a film adhesive applied dry. Hypalon is a different fabric: the Polymarine listing is for PVC inflatables, and one review says a rubber tender was the wrong use. Rank inside the job. Do not call a patch kit safe for pressure pipe, and do not expect pipe cement to flex with an air bed.

Cure, approval and pack

High

If the joint carries mains water, approval is for a named cement and a named cure. None of these ten listings prints a PN class, and a potable-water bullet is not scored as an approval. Cure stays on that tin: 24 hours, 48 hours, or a maker sheet of 6 hours before pressure, 48 hours full cure and 7 days to maximum strength. Do not average them. Check the brush, the patches and, on a two-part, the curative. One Bond It review says the brush snapped. One Polymarine order had no hardener.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Air bed or pool

You can clean the face, warm a cold bottle, and leave the item uninflated. GleamGlee is the best value: an 80 ml kit at about £8.99, 4.2 from 177 reviews, with patches in the bullets. Several UK air beds still leaked or did not stick, and the listing gives no cure time in hours.

Rigid waste or gutter

You are welding rigid PVC-U and you will follow that pipe's own jointing instructions. Bond It SolvoBond uPVC 6200 is the reviewed solvent cement here: 100 ml at about £7.00, 4.3 from 21 reviews. One review says the lid brush snapped. The potable-water bullet is not an approval, and this listing has no WRAS number.

Pond film, kept dry

You can keep the liner out of the water while it cures, and you have a mastic gun. Oase UniFix+ is the top pick: 290 ml at about £27.83, 4.3 from 411 reviews, for EPDM, rubber or PVC film. The nozzle is often missing. A PVC boat tube is the Polymarine two-part, and it needs the hardener in the box.

Common questions about PVC adhesives

Which PVC adhesive is the top pick in 2026?
The top pick is Oase UniFix+, a 290 ml cartridge at about £27.83. On amazon.co.uk it is 4.3 from 411 reviews, the highest score here. UK reviews describe dry pond-liner tears that held. The nozzle is often missing, a PVA field fights the film bullets, and you need a mastic gun. It is not an air-bed kit or a solvent-welded pipe. This order is the listings, not a laboratory test.
How much does PVC adhesive cost?
On these amazon.co.uk listings, dated 19 October 2026, the shelf runs from about £6.99 to about £29.75. The entry band, about £6.99 to about £9.99, mixes rigid cement and inflatable kits. Mid listings are about £13.99 and about £19.99. The specialist pair are about £27.83 and about £29.75. A trade PN 16 tin sold elsewhere is outside this comparison. These are the observed shelf prices here, not a national survey.
Is PVC pipe cement the same as inflatable glue?
No. Rigid PVC-U for waste, gutter or conduit takes a solvent cement. Plasticised PVC on a pool, air bed or boat takes a flexible repair or a two-part. Pipe or inflatable PVC adhesive is that choice. A patch kit is not a pressure joint, and pipe cement will not flex with an air bed. Pond film is applied dry.
Does a drinking-water bullet mean the tin is approved?
No. A drinking-water joint in England and Wales has to meet the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999. An approval is for a named cement and a named cure. None of these ten listings prints a PN class. A potable-water bullet on a solvent cement is not that approval, including the Bond It and Soudal-titled jars. Scotland and Northern Ireland use their own fittings rules. Do not use these listings for gas pipe.
How long should PVC adhesive cure?
Use the clock on that tin. One inflatable listing says 24 hours and another says 48 hours. The pond cartridge prints both 24 hours and 24–48 hours. The two-part boat listing gives no cure time; the maker's sheet says no pressure for at least 6 hours, full cure at 48 hours, and maximum strength at 7 days. Do not average these. Leave a flexible repair uninflated until that product's own time has passed.
Can you apply PVC adhesive under water?
Do not treat a waterproof bullet as a repair you make while the face is wet. Pond-film and boat adhesives in this comparison want dry faces first. The pond listing says you process it dry and above the water. A flexible kit may say waterproof only after a full cure. A dirty face, a cold bottle, or inflating too soon is how these patches fail in the reviews.
What fails on air beds and paddling pools?
Flexible repairs fail in the reviews when the face is dirty, the bottle is cold, or the item is inflated too soon. A large review count can still include air beds that leaked or glue that did not stick, and patches called too thin for a dinghy. Prefer a review about your job over a 5.0 from three ratings. Warm a cold bottle and leave the item uninflated for the time that tin prints.
When should a professional take over?
Call a professional for a mains joint you cannot match to an approval, for any gas fitting, and for a liner you cannot dry. Gas work sits under the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998. A boat tear that needs an inside patch, which the Polymarine guide uses when damage exceeds 75 mm in any direction, is also a job to pass on. Ventilate solvents, keep lids on, keep them off skin, and keep a flame away.

Our verdict

The top pick is Oase UniFix+ at about £27.83. It is a 290 ml cartridge, 4.3 from 411 amazon.co.uk reviews, and the highest score, for a dry pond-film repair. Reviewers needed a mastic gun, the nozzle was often missing, and a PVA material field fights the film bullets. The best value is the GleamGlee 80 ml kit at about £8.99, 4.2 from 177 reviews. It is the only row under £15 with at least 100 reviews and a household inflatable job. Several UK air beds still leaked or did not stick. These badges follow that listing order. This is not a laboratory test.
