Top pick: Dowsil 785+ silicone, white and clear, 2 pack Best value: Sika general purpose silicone – Best value in the awards: about £5.00, 4.5 from 7,959 reviews, anti-fungal ingredients and an EN 15651 line with no class digit. Updated 22 October 2026.
Silicone white is a pigmented, moisture-curing sealant sold in the UK for a bead that should look white against a bath, a basin, tile or a uPVC frame. You buy it to reseal a bathroom, patch a short gap, or point a window. The colour does not tell you the cure chemistry or the mould class.
Quality is the match of the joint, the substrate and a declared class. A wet room wants a sanitary fungicide. A moving frame wants a low-modulus neutral cure and a movement figure. EN 15651-3 covers sanitary joints. EN 15651-1 covers facade joints. A line that only says EN 15651, with no class digit, is incomplete. Class, substrate and pack size are set out in the [white silicone buying guide](/hub/fillers-adhesives-and-sprays/silicone-white/sub/silicone-white-buying-guide).
Acetoxy silicone smells of vinegar. It suits glass and glazed ceramic, and it can mark natural stone or corrode copper, brass and lead. A squeeze tube is a small repair. A cartridge needs a gun. Paint does not stick to silicone, so a joint you will paint is a different product.

The Dowsil 785+ pack, about £18.99, is two 310 ml acetoxy cartridges, one white and one clear, with a mould-resistant title and a sanitary-grade line that does not give an EN number. The star line is 4.7 from 24 reviews, and only seven written reviews were read. Those lines call it easy to use, and one non-professional sealed a shower and stopped a leak. Mould resistance is described as staying mould-free for years around splashbacks and baths, which is a reviewer comment rather than a tested life. The weight and dimension fields read like one cartridge, not two. A 4.7 from a thin file does not outrank the sanitary cartridge with 10,620 reviews. Buy the pair when you will actually use both colours.
Pros
White and clear 310 ml cartridges in one pack
4.7 from 24 reviews, the highest star line in the set
Mould-resistant title and a sanitary-grade line
One review describes a shower leak stopped by a non-professional
Cons
Only seven written reviews against a count of 24
Weight and dimensions look like one cartridge
About £18.99, and you may not need the clear tube
No EN number and no cure time
Best for: A bathroom or kitchen where you will use both a white bead and a clear bead from the same 785 silicone.
Less suitable: A single white bath, a buyer who wants a deep review file, or a listing whose weight should match a two-cartridge pack.
UniBond Triple Protection white, about £13.49 for 291 g, is the anti-mould cartridge reviewers buy when bath silicone has already shown fungus, and 4,120 amazon.co.uk reviews sit at 4.6. The listing says it repels, kills and prevents mould, that it is touch dry in 20 minutes and fully dry in 24 hours, and that one cartridge covers one bath, two showers and two sinks. Reviewers describe a smooth ultra-white finish. A heavy user calls the adhesion weaker than other silicones they use at work, and the price is called high next to other sealant. The dimension line of 50 × 50 × 2,300 mm is not a plausible cartridge length. No EN class is printed. It is a well-reviewed anti-mould bath cartridge at the top of the single-cartridge prices in this set, and it is not the best value.
Pros
4.6 from 4,120 reviews on bath reseals
Anti-mould claim, with touch dry in 20 minutes and fully dry in 24 hours
Coverage stated as one bath, two showers and two sinks
Smooth ultra-white finish in the reviews
Cons
About £13.49, called high against other sealant
Adhesion called weaker by one heavy user
Dimension field of 2,300 mm is not a plausible length
No EN class on the listing
Best for: A white kitchen or bathroom joint, including a power shower, when you want the stated 20-minute and 24-hour lines.
Less suitable: A buyer chasing the lowest price, a window movement class, or anyone treating the listing’s kills-mould line as a lifetime promise.
Yes on the listing. The bullets say it repels, kills and prevents mould. No EN class is printed. Treat that line as the listing claim, not a lifetime promise.
When does the listing say it is dry?
Touch dry in 20 minutes and fully dry in 24 hours. Coverage is given as one bath, two showers and two sinks. A sheet cure of a few millimetres a day can still apply to a deep bead.
Can it be used on windows?
The listing asks and does not answer. Window use is not stated. Shower is the surface recommendation.
The Dowsil 785 white cartridge, about £12.00 for 310 ml, is an acetoxy sealant the listing calls bacteria resistant, with a mould and mildew line and a 24-hour full cure. Across 171 amazon.co.uk reviews the star line is 4.6. Reviewers use it on an acrylic shower basin with PVC walls after a cheaper sealant failed, and one calls the odour lower than another brand they had used. One reviewer says it stays white longer in a comparison they made themselves. If a profiling tool is rushed, the bead ripples. The brand field says AIGHER and the manufacturer field says Dow, and the listing prints no EN 15651 number and no movement class. The water-resistance field says water resistant while a bullet says waterproof. It is a named sanitary acetoxy cartridge with a real review file, and the class digit is not on the page.
Pros
4.6 from 171 reviews, used on an acrylic shower after a cheaper sealant failed
Acetoxy named, with a mould and mildew line and a 24-hour full cure
310 ml stated without a conflicting fill
Lower odour than another brand, in one comparison
Cons
Brand field AIGHER, manufacturer Dow
No EN class or movement figure
Bead ripples if the profiling tool is rushed
Water resistant in one field and waterproof in a bullet
Best for: A bathroom or kitchen joint where you want a named Dowsil 785 acetoxy cartridge and a 24-hour cure line.
Less suitable: Natural stone, a printed movement class, or a buyer who needs the storefront brand and the manufacturer to be the same name.
The Soudal Trade six-pack, about £21.28, states a fungicide, initial hardening in 7 minutes and a full cure in 24 hours, with a maximum gap fill of 30 mm. The star line is 4.6 from 32 reviews, and the seven written reviews are mostly one line. Long-term users call the make reliable, and the silicone has been used on a shower and a bath. One review mentions a strong smell after the job and still recommends the brand. Volume is not stated, so a price per cartridge is not a price per millilitre, and the window question is unanswered. No EN class is printed. Do not read an S1 mould class onto this multi-purpose pack. That declaration belongs to a different Soudal sanitary product. It suits a house or a van that will open six brilliant-white cartridges, and it is a poor match for a single bath.
Pros
Six cartridges at about £21.28 with a fungicide bullet
Initial hardening in 7 minutes and a 24-hour full cure
4.6 from 32 reviews, used on a shower and a bath
Maximum gap fill stated as 30 mm
Cons
No volume on the listing
Strong smell after the job, in one review
Seven short reviews against 32 ratings
No EN class, and window use is unanswered
Best for: Several rooms, or a trade kit, where six fungicidal white cartridges will be used.
Less suitable: One bath, a printed movement class, or a buyer who needs the millilitres on the page.
The Shopstop pack, about £8.99, pairs a white silicone the title calls 70 g with a finishing tool, and 24 amazon.co.uk reviews sit at 4.6. Reviewers say the tools help a beginner get a neater line on hand basins, showers and baths, and that the remover edge is useful on old sealant. The unit count says 150 g, the included line says 70 g, and the listed weight is 140 g, so the fill is not settled on the page. There is no mould claim and no cure time. The tube is small, the work is still messy, and the kit does not make an unskilled bead neat by itself. One review was a gaming-wall panel rather than a bathroom. It is a short repair with a tool in the box, and it is not a classed sanitary cartridge.
Pros
Finishing tool and a remover edge that reviewers use on old sealant
4.6 from 24 reviews on small basin and shower jobs
No cartridge gun
White described as blending in once tooled
Cons
Title 70 g, unit count 150 g, listed weight 140 g
No mould claim and no cure time
70 g runs out beyond a small repair
Fifteen written reviews against a count of 24
Best for: A beginner doing one small basin or sink edge who wants a smoothing tool in the same order.
Less suitable: A full bath, a stated fungicide, or anyone who needs the fill size to match across the listing.
Across 10,620 amazon.co.uk reviews the Sika sanitary cartridge, formerly Everbuild 500, is the white bath and kitchen bead people describe as creamy and bright, and the star line is 4.5 at about £7.69. Reviewers who are not professionals use it around a bath and a kitchen sink, smooth it with a finger, and say the cured line can be scrubbed when cleaning. The title says mould resistant and the highlight says anti-fungal and quick curing, with no minute figure and no EN class on the listing. The title says 295 ml and a bullet says 310 ml. There is no cap, so an opened cartridge cannot be closed, and a smell is mentioned without a repeated complaint that it is too strong in the lines read. It is the top pick in this set for a white sanitary joint because the review file is the deepest and the listing names a mould-resistant bath silicone. That is the listing order, not a laboratory ranking.
Pros
4.5 from 10,620 reviews, the largest file in the set
Mould-resistant title and an anti-fungal highlight
Reviewers describe a creamy, bright white finish on baths and sinks
Excess after cure described as easy to clean off
Cons
Title 295 ml versus a 310 ml bullet
No cap once the cartridge is open
No EN 15651 class and no cure time on the listing
Outdoor use is asked and left unanswered
Best for: A white bath, shower or basin joint where you want the largest review file on a mould-resistant cartridge.
Less suitable: A frame that needs a printed movement class, or a job you will return to with the same opened cartridge.
Across 7,959 amazon.co.uk reviews the Sika general purpose white cartridge, about £5.00, is used around sinks, showers, a shed gap, a patio door and internal window frames, and the star line is 4.5. Reviewers call the nozzle easy to cut and say the bead sticks and stops water coming through. The listing states anti-fungal ingredients and EN 15651 for facade, cold climate and sanitary use, without a class digit. The title says 260 ml and the volume field says 280 ml. One reviewer received a cartridge with a manufacturing date of 20 May 2024 and returned it as too old to use. Many of the 50 reviews read are only a short line, so faults are thinly described. It is the best value cartridge in this set when you want one tube with a large review file, and it is not a classed sanitary specialist.
Pros
About £5.00 with 4.5 from 7,959 reviews
Anti-fungal bullet and an EN 15651 line, with no class digit
Reviewers use it on sheds, patio doors and internal frames
Nozzle described as easy to cut
Cons
Title says 260 ml and the volume field says 280 ml
At least one cartridge arrived with a May 2024 manufacturing date
No class digit on the EN 15651 line
Cure time is not stated
Best for: One general-purpose cartridge for kitchens, bathrooms and small exterior gaps, if you check the date code.
Less suitable: A joint that needs a printed movement class, or a buyer who treats EN 15651 as a full sanitary code.
The Soudal Trade white three-pack, about £12.30, states a fungicide, UV resistance and a flexible seal on glass, metals, wood and ceramic tile. The star line is 4.4 from 33 reviews, and only four written reviews were in the file. Those lines call the paste creamy, easy to finish with a rubber blade, and bright white once set. On a hot day it skins quickly, so you cannot pause mid-bead. Volume and cure time are not stated, and the window question on the listing is unanswered. If all three cartridges arrive, the pack is about £4.10 each, and that figure is not a price per millilitre because the fill is missing. Do not read an S1 mould class onto it. That declaration belongs to a different Soudal sanitary product.
Pros
Three cartridges at about £12.30, with a fungicide bullet
4.4 from 33 reviews; the written lines call it creamy and bright white
One review says it works with masking tape
UV resistance is stated
Cons
No volume and no cure time
Skins quickly on a hot day
Only four written reviews against 33 ratings
Window use is unanswered, and no EN class is printed
Best for: You will use three brilliant-white cartridges on glass, tile, wood or metal and you do not need a printed class.
Less suitable: A single bath, a window with a movement figure, or a buyer who wants a stated fill size.
The 151 white tube, listed at about £3.35, is a 70 g squeeze pack reviewers use on taps, a basin waste, a door frame or a short bath edge, and 3,448 amazon.co.uk reviews sit at 4.3. They cut the nozzle to about 1.5 mm and they do not use a cartridge gun. Some could still squeeze paste weeks or months later. The listing states waterproof and a 24-hour full cure, and it states no fungicide and no EN 15651 class. The metal tube is hard to squeeze, it crumples, and it can burst if you force it after the paste has started to dry. A vinegar smell is described as present but not overpowering, and a complete novice finds the bead hard to control. The model number contains 4x while the listing is a single tube, so this is a small repair rather than a four-pack or a stated sanitary cartridge.
Pros
About £3.35 for a 70 g tube that does not need a cartridge gun
4.3 from 3,448 reviews on taps, wastes and short edges
Nozzle can be cut to about 1.5 mm
Some reviewers could still use the tube weeks later
Listing states a 24-hour full cure
Cons
Metal tube crumples and can burst when forced
No fungicide and no EN 15651 class
Vinegar smell, and the bead is hard to control for a novice
Model number says 4x while the pack is one tube
Best for: A short repair where you want a squeeze tube and can accept a 70 g fill.
Less suitable: A full bath or shower reseal, or a joint that needs a stated mould class.
The Siroflex LMN cartridge, about £6.99 for 300 ml, is the only listing in this set that states 12.5 percent joint movement and names windows, glazing and indoor and outdoor use. The star line is 4.3 from 18 reviews. One reviewer says it adhered to a uPVC frame, and another used it around decking tiles in hot weather. The listing also says EN 15651 and frost resistance down to −15°C, and it does not answer whether the silicone is mould resistant. Two of the reviews read call the bead almost liquid and hard to place on door frames, and one cartridge arrived with no nozzle. Several reviews describe anthracite grey or rosewood, which does not match the white title. Treat the movement figure as the reason to look at it, and treat the review file as too thin, and too mixed on colour, to confirm the cartridge from the text alone.
Pros
States 12.5 percent movement and EN 15651
Title covers windows, sanitary, glazing, indoor and outdoor
300 ml at about £6.99
One review reports adhesion on a uPVC frame
Cons
Only 18 reviews, and some describe other colours
Bead called runny on door frames
One report of a missing nozzle
Mould resistance is not answered
Best for: A white frame or glazing joint where you need a printed 12.5 percent movement figure and you can check the cartridge colour on arrival.
Less suitable: A bath reseal that needs a mould answer, or anyone treating the review text as proof this unit is white.
The listing asks and does not answer. Mould resistance is not stated. The Bostik sheet for this LMN silicone states a sanitary XS1 class. Read the cartridge you receive.
What movement does the listing state?
12.5 percent joint movement, plus an EN 15651 line with no class digit.
Does it work on metal?
The listing asks and does not answer. Metal use is not stated.
The Enócilis box, about £31.95, is twelve tubes with nozzles, titled as anti-mould white silicone for kitchens and bathrooms, and 19 amazon.co.uk reviews sit at 4.0. Short reviews call it good value, and one says it is workable. The paste is described as very thick, so the smoothed edge is not clean, and the cured colour is called semi-transparent white rather than solid white. The colour field says yellow and white, which already conflicts with the title. One review says paint will not cover it and leaves white lines, and another says it is a poor match for worktops and windows. The unit count says 300 ml against a box of twelve, and the listed weight is 330 g. It is a bulk pack whose reviews do not treat the cure as a bright white match.
Pros
Twelve tubes with nozzles, and no cartridge gun
Anti-mould and waterproof on the title
4.0 from 19 reviews; short lines call it workable
Listing names ceramic, glass, metal, plastic and wood
Cons
Colour field says yellow and white; reviews say semi-transparent
Thick paste that does not tool to a clean edge
Not paintable, in one review
About £31.95, and a 300 ml unit count does not describe twelve tubes clearly
Best for: A buyer who wants many small anti-mould tubes and will accept a semi-transparent white.
Less suitable: A bright white bath match, a paintable joint, or a worktop and window job.
The listing asks and does not answer. One review says it is not paintable. Paintability is not a listing claim. Paint does not stick to silicone in general.
Is the colour white?
The title says white. The colour field says yellow and white. Reviews describe a semi-transparent white.
Does it resist mould?
The title and a bullet say mould and mildew resistant. No standard is printed.
The Mr Prime 151 multipurpose tube is listed at about £6.99 for 70 g, with a precision nozzle, and the page names bathrooms, kitchens, showers and sinks. There is no amazon.co.uk star line and no review text in the listing file, so there is nothing to check against a finished joint. The listing says a cartridge gun is unnecessary. It does not state a cure time, a fungicide or a movement class. The same 70 g size already exists in this set as the 151 tube at about £3.35 with 3,448 reviews. Damp-surface use is asked on the listing and left unanswered. You are paying more for a tube this comparison cannot score from reviews.
Pros
70 g squeeze tube, so no cartridge gun
Listing names bathroom, kitchen, shower and sink
Waterproof is stated
Cons
No star rating and no reviews in the listing file
No cure time, fungicide or standard
About £6.99 beside an about £3.35 70 g tube in the same set
Best for: Only if you specifically want this nozzle listing and you accept a page with no reviews.
Less suitable: Anyone who wants review evidence, a stated cure, or the cheaper 151 tube that already has a large file.
No. The listing says a large cartridge and gun are unnecessary for this 70 g tube.
How long does it take to cure?
The listing asks and does not answer. Cure time is not stated.
Can it be applied to damp surfaces?
The listing asks and does not answer. Damp-surface use is not stated.
How we compared
Twelve amazon.co.uk white silicone listings were scored on a 0–100 scale. Amazon stars and review count are 45 points. A 4.5 from several thousand reviews sits above a 4.7 from a few dozen. A listing with no star line sits at the bottom of this set. Whether the listing states the duty is 25 points. A fungicide line, an EN 15651 reference, a movement figure or a cure time counts. A blank standard does not. EN 15651 without a class digit is only a partial statement. Price against this set is 20 points. A single cartridge around £5 to £8 scores higher here than a £19 to £32 multipack, unless the pack states a cure time the singles leave blank. The method file also deducts, up to 15 points, for a title that disagrees with the volume field, a colour field or review text that is not white, a review count under 30, and a storefront brand that disagrees with the manufacturer field. Those four blocks are weighted 45, 25, 20 and 10 here so the weights sum to 100. The weight of 10 is the gap that brings the three positive blocks to 100. The method still applies deductions of up to 15, and those points only reduce a score. They are not a 10-point award. The highest score is the top pick. Best value is the general-purpose cartridge in the awards. UniBond also scores 92 and does not take a second award. Prices, stars and review counts are the figures in the listing files scored on 21 October 2026. This order is the listing order. It is not a laboratory test.

White silicone buying guide
Match the joint, the substrate and a declared class before you look at the price. White is the colour. It does not name the cure or the mould class. A 24-hour line on a listing is a skin or a shallow bead, not a cure depth for every joint.
What is white silicone?
Silicone white is a pigmented, moisture-curing paste for a bead that should look white against a bath, a basin, tile or a uPVC frame. People buy it to reseal a bathroom, patch a short gap, or point a window. The colour does not tell you the cure chemistry or the mould class. Quality is the match of the joint, the substrate and a declared class.
Name the joint first. A shower or bath edge wants sanitary silicone with a fungicide. A uPVC perimeter wants a frame sealant and a movement figure.
Best for
A white bath, shower or basin bead with a stated fungicide
A short gap from a squeeze tube, or a frame joint with a printed movement figure
Not ideal for
A joint you will paint, a fish tank, a hob or a food surface
Natural stone, mirror silver, or a bead laid over old silicone
Mistakes to avoid
1
Sealing over old silicone
The new bead needs a clean, dry joint. Old silicone, a damp rim, and a shower taken because the skin has formed are the failures named for this category. Fill a bath before you seal the rim and leave the water in until the bead has cured.
2
Acetoxy on stone
Acetoxy suits glazed ceramic, glass and enamel. It can mark natural stone and can corrode copper, brass and lead. The Dow 785 sheet excludes marble, granite, concrete and mirror silver. A white title does not change that.
3
Reading S1 onto the wrong pack
Soudal multi-purpose packs state a fungicide and do not state an EN class. Soudal Trade Sanitary S1 is a different declaration. EN 15651 with no class digit is a partial statement, not a sanitary code.
What to weigh up
Class and substrate
High
Name the joint, then the cure. A wet room wants a fungicide and, where the cartridge prints it, EN 15651-3. S1 or XS1 is the higher mould band. S3 and XS3 are weaker. A moving frame wants a movement figure: 12.5 percent, 20 percent and 25 percent are different joints. EN 15651-1 covers facade joints. Acetoxy is the usual read on glazed ceramic, glass and enamel. Neutral cure is the safer read on many plastics, sensitive metals and natural stone.
Pack, cure and colour
High
A 70 g tube is a short repair and often cures in the nozzle. A cartridge needs a gun. A multipack is cheaper per tube only if you finish the cartridges before they skin. Check the title against the volume field: 295 ml against 310 ml, 260 ml against 280 ml, and 70 g against 150 g are conflicts in this set. A colour field that says yellow and white, or reviews that name grey or rosewood, means you check the cartridge on arrival. A 24-hour full-cure line is the listing claim for a shallow bead.
Which option suits you?
Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.
🛁
One white bath
You are resealing one bath, shower or basin and you want a mould-resistant cartridge with the largest review file in this set. Sika sanitary, formerly Everbuild 500, is the top pick at about £7.69, 4.5 from 10,620 reviews. The title says 295 ml and a bullet says 310 ml. There is no class digit and no cap once it is open.
You want one cartridge for kitchens, bathrooms and a small exterior gap, and you will check the date code. Sika general purpose is the best value at about £5.00, 4.5 from 7,959 reviews, with an anti-fungal bullet and an EN 15651 line that has no class digit. The title says 260 ml and the volume field says 280 ml.
You are sealing a white frame or glazing joint and you want a printed movement figure. Siroflex LMN states 12.5 percent movement and EN 15651, at about £6.99, 4.3 from 18 reviews. Mould resistance is unanswered, and some reviews describe other colours. Check the cartridge colour on arrival.
The top pick is the Sika sanitary cartridge, formerly Everbuild 500, at about £7.69. On amazon.co.uk it is 4.5 from 10,620 reviews, the largest file in this set. The title says mould resistant and a highlight says anti-fungal. Reviewers describe a creamy white bead on baths and sinks. The title says 295 ml and a bullet says 310 ml. There is no EN class and no stated cure time. This order is the listing order. It is not a laboratory test.
Which listing is the best value?
The best value is the Sika general purpose white cartridge at about £5.00. It is 4.5 from 7,959 amazon.co.uk reviews. The listing states anti-fungal ingredients and an EN 15651 line, with no class digit. The title says 260 ml and the volume field says 280 ml. One reviewer returned a cartridge dated May 2024. Cure time is not stated. It is a general-purpose cartridge with a large review file, and a 4.7 from 24 reviews does not outrank the sanitary cartridge.
How much does white silicone cost?
These twelve amazon.co.uk listings, priced on 21 October 2026, run from about £3.35 to about £31.95. The 151 squeeze tube is about £3.35. Sika general purpose is about £5.00 and Sika sanitary is about £7.69. A tool kit, Dowsil 785, a Soudal three-pack and UniBond sit from about £8.99 to about £13.49. The Dowsil white-and-clear pair is about £18.99, the Soudal six-pack about £21.28, and the Enócilis box about £31.95. These are shelf prices in the listing files, not a live re-check.
Is every white silicone a sanitary sealant?
White names the pigment. The joint class is a separate line on the cartridge. A bath or shower wants sanitary silicone with a fungicide. A uPVC perimeter wants a frame sealant and a movement figure. BS EN 15651-3 covers interior sanitary joints in non-pressurised water and excludes pools, drinking water, food contact and hobs. EN 15651-1 covers facade joints. EN 15651 with no class digit is incomplete. S1 or XS1 is the higher mould band. S3 and XS3 are weaker.
Can you paint white silicone?
Paint does not stick to silicone. A joint you will paint wants decorator's caulk, covered in the acrylic sealant comparison. One review of the twelve-pack says paint leaves white lines on the bead. Soudal's UK FAQ on painting over silicone, and a Toolstation sealant guide, treat silicone as a bead you leave unpainted. Read the cartridge before you buy for a skirting you will emulsion.
Should bathroom silicone be acetoxy or neutral?
Acetoxy is the usual choice on glazed ceramic, glass and enamel. It smells of vinegar because it releases acetic acid, so ventilate the room. It can mark natural stone and can corrode copper, brass and lead. Neutral cure is the safer read on many plastics, sensitive metals and natural stone. The Dow 785 sheet excludes marble, granite, concrete and mirror silver. A white title does not name the cure. The Everbuild 500 page does list PVCu frames for that acetoxy cartridge, so follow the tube you bought.
Do you need a cartridge gun?
A standard cartridge needs a sealant gun. The 70 g squeeze tubes in this set do not. A multipack is cheaper per tube only if you use the cartridges before they skin. A 70 g tube is a small repair and often cures in the nozzle. Keep the joint dry after the skin forms. Screwfix's shower guide says to wait about 24 hours before water. Fill a bath before you seal the rim and leave the water in until the bead has cured.
When should a professional take over?
Call a professional when water is already under the tray or on the ceiling below, when stone is marked, when a window joint is a failed install, or when you cannot tell acrylic from metal from stone. A new bead over old silicone fails. A damp rim, and a twelve-pack opened for one short repair, are the same kind of mistake. If you cannot match the substrate to acetoxy or neutral cure, stop. This comparison scores listings. It does not test adhesion in a laboratory.
Our verdict
The top pick is the Sika sanitary cartridge, formerly Everbuild 500, at about £7.69. It scores 94. On amazon.co.uk it is 4.5 from 10,620 reviews, with a mould-resistant title and an anti-fungal highlight. The title says 295 ml and a bullet says 310 ml, and there is no class digit. The best value is the Sika general purpose cartridge at about £5.00, score 92, 4.5 from 7,959 reviews, with an anti-fungal line and EN 15651 stated without a class. The two-point gap is the award split. UniBond Triple Protection also scores 92, with touch dry in 20 minutes and fully dry in 24 hours, and it does not take a second award because about £13.49 is not the value pick. A 4.7 from 24 reviews does not outrank a 4.5 from 10,620. This order is the listing order. It is not a laboratory test.
