Foam gun comparison 2026

The best foam guns, compared.

Top pick: Caelvix foam gun with nozzles Best value: Lytool PU expanding foam gun – Best price against an independent file of more than a thousand reviews: about £14.29, 4.2 from 2,412 on this ASIN. Cleaner is still extra. Updated 22 October 2026.

A foam gun screws onto a gun-grade can of one-component polyurethane expanding foam so you can meter a bead with a trigger and a rear flow screw. In the UK you buy one when a straw can is too coarse for gaps around windows, doors and pipes, and you expect to foam more than one joint. The can must be gun-grade: the basket has to seal on a screw thread, and a straw can will not. You set a rear flow screw small, then use the trigger. A lock or seal valve is useful only if it actually closes. A coating counts only when the listing states it. Extra tips count only when the included-components line matches the title. If you will take the can off, buy a gun cleaner in the same order. The [foam gun buying guide](/hub/fillers-adhesives-and-sprays/foam-gun/sub/foam-gun-buying-guide) sets those checks out. Polyurethane foam contains isocyanates, so ventilate, protect your eyes, and wear suitable gloves. Fill a gun-foam joint to about 60 to 70 percent, not flush, because the foam keeps expanding.

A foam gun screws onto a gun-grade can of one-component polyurethane expanding foam so you can meter a bead with a trigger and a rear flow screw.

The best foam guns in detail

Caelvix foam gun with nozzles

Rank 1

Caelvix foam gun with nozzles

∼£16

Our view

The Caelvix FG-001 is about £15.99 and shows 5.0 from four amazon.co.uk reviews, which is a full score on a sample too small to rank a gun. The title and bullets name two long extension tubes, two tapered tips, and a utility trimming tool. The technical included-components field says Foam Gun only, so the kit in the title and the kit in the specification do not agree. The four texts call it sturdy, mention a rubberised grip, and one says the bead around a window was cleaner than a straw. There is no repeated complaint in those four lines. The bullets say it fits standard screw-on PU cans and that you should flush with foam gun cleaner after use. Cleaner is not in the box, and a 5.0 from four reviews is not a reason to skip that can.

Pros

  • Title lists four nozzles and a trimming tool
  • Adjustable rear dial
  • Four short reviews are positive, including a cleaner window bead than a straw
  • Bullets say it fits standard screw-on PU cans

Cons

  • 5.0 from four reviews is not a large sample
  • Technical included-components line says Foam Gun only
  • Cleaner is not included
  • A non-stick coating is not stated

Best for: You want the nozzle kit the title describes, and you will check the parcel against that list when it arrives.

Less suitable: You need the extras confirmed in the technical line, or a review count you can compare with Lytool or fischer.

Common questions

Are the four nozzles actually listed in the technical details?

The title and bullets name two long extension tubes, two tapered tips, and a utility trimming tool. The technical included-components field says Foam Gun only.

Which cans does it say it fits?

The bullets say it fits all standard screw-on PU expanding foam canisters. A cleaner is not included. The bullets say to flush with standard foam gun cleaner after use.

What do the four reviews say?

They are short and positive: sturdy, a rubberised grip, useful nozzles, a liked trimming tool, and a cleaner bead than a straw around a window. There is no repeated complaint.

WORKPRO PTFE foam gun

Rank 2

WORKPRO PTFE foam gun

∼£19

Our view

The WORKPRO W133365 is a PTFE-coated gun at about £18.99, rated 4.6 from 293 amazon.co.uk reviews, the highest star line in this set among guns with more than a handful of ratings. The finish is listed as Teflon, the material field as PTFE, and the bullets add a copper nozzle and a plastic handle. The first bullet names a lock valve. Reviewers say it cannot be shut off, so a bumped trigger dumps foam, and that there is no positive shut-off in use. Other reviews praise the flow control and a side scroll wheel. Failures in the same file include an adjustment knob that would not turn and a trigger that broke on first use. The gun weighs 530 g on the listing. Cleaner is not in the box, so the PTFE line does not replace a solvent can.

Pros

  • 4.6 from 293 reviews
  • PTFE and Teflon stated on the listing, with a copper nozzle in the bullets
  • Adjustable one-handed flow; reviewers mention a side scroll wheel
  • 530 g listed, heavier than the entry guns

Cons

  • Reviewers say the named lock valve will not shut the gun off
  • An adjustment knob that would not turn
  • A trigger that broke on first use
  • No cleaner in the box

Best for: You want the PTFE WORKPRO, and you will treat the lock-valve bullet as unproven until you have tried the trigger.

Less suitable: You need a shut-off that reviews say actually closes, or you will bump the trigger while a can is fitted.

Common questions

Does the lock valve shut the gun off?

The first bullet names a lock valve. Reviewers say it cannot be shut off, so a bumped trigger dumps foam, and that there is no positive shut-off in use.

What coating is listed?

The finish is Teflon and the material field is PTFE. The bullets say a PTFE-coated body, a copper nozzle, and a plastic handle.

What else do reviewers report?

Praise for flow control and a side scroll wheel, and failures: an adjustment knob that would not turn, and a trigger that broke on first use.

Preciva foam gun, red

Rank 3

Preciva foam gun, red

∼£16

Our view

The Preciva FG250002 in red is about £16.14 and sits at rank 1 in Foam Dispensing Guns on this capture, at 4.4 from 8,470 reviews. That count, that rank, and that review text are the same pool as the black Preciva gun and the Preciva twin pack, so the 8,470 is not a verdict written only about the red body. The bullets name non-stick perfluorocarbon plastics and ABS, and a spring trigger. Reviewers say a solvent cleaner that screws on works, and that the cleaner is easy to forget because it is not in the box. The same shared text describes foam coming out at the basket, tips that are hard to keep on, and guns that clog if they are not cleaned. A standard thread is not printed. At about £16.14 it is the cheapest of the three Preciva lines that share one file.

Pros

  • About £16.14, the lowest of the three Preciva listings
  • Rank 1 in Foam Dispensing Guns on this capture
  • Bullets name non-stick plastics and ABS
  • Reviewers say a screw-on solvent cleaner clears the gun when it is used

Cons

  • The 8,470 reviews are shared with the black gun and the twin pack
  • Basket leaks and tips that will not stay on appear in that shared text
  • Cleaner is not in the box
  • A standard thread is not printed

Best for: You want the red Preciva at the lowest of the three shared-review prices, and you will buy cleaner with it.

Less suitable: You need a review count that belongs only to this ASIN, or a printed thread standard.

Common questions

Is this review count only for the red gun?

No. The same 8,470 count, the same rank, and the same review text appear on the black Preciva gun and the Preciva twin pack. Do not add those counts together.

Does the box include cleaner?

No. Reviewers say a solvent cleaner that screws on works, and that cleaner is easy to forget because it is not in the box.

Does the listing state a standard thread?

It does not. Fit to threaded PU cans is implied by the use, not printed as a standard thread.

Preciva foam gun, black

Rank 4

Preciva foam gun, black

∼£17

Our view

The black Preciva is about £16.99, 85p more than the red gun on this snapshot, and it carries the same 4.4 from 8,470 reviews, the same rank, and the same review text. That pool is the same review text as the red gun and the twin pack, so this listing is not a second verdict. The bullets again name perfluorocarbon engineering plastics and ABS. Included components are not filled in, pack quantity is 1, and cleaner is not included. A shared review mentions four plastic nozzles in an unboxing, which is not the same as a technical line that lists them. The model field prints Schaumpistole. Foam at the basket, tips that come off, and clogs when the gun is left dirty are the failures in that shared text. Paying the extra 85p does not buy you a separate test.

Pros

  • Same non-stick plastics named in the bullets as the red Preciva
  • Spring trigger
  • Pack quantity 1, so you are not paying for a second gun
  • Shared reviews describe a cleaner bead when the gun is flushed

Cons

  • About £16.99 for the same 8,470-review text as the red gun at about £16.14
  • Included components are not listed
  • Basket leaks and loose tips in the shared reviews
  • The model field prints Schaumpistole rather than a part number

Best for: You specifically want the black body, and you already know the review file is shared.

Less suitable: You want the lowest Preciva price, or a review count that is only about this colour.

Common questions

Is the black gun a separate verdict from the red one?

No. It shares the 8,470 count, the rank, and the review text with the red Preciva gun and the Preciva twin pack. Do not add those counts together.

What leaks do reviewers describe?

Foam coming out at the basket instead of sealing to the can, tips that are hard to keep on, and guns that clog if they are not cleaned.

What is in the box?

Included components are not listed on this listing. Pack quantity is 1. Cleaner is not included. A shared review mentions four plastic nozzles in an unboxing.

Preciva foam gun, 2-pack

Rank 5

Preciva foam gun, 2-pack

∼£24

Our view

The Preciva twin pack is two guns, two scrapers, four short tubes and four long tubes at about £23.99. It shares the 8,470-review count, the rank, and the review text with the red and black single guns, so the extra hardware is not backed by a separate test. The bullets say a high-grade fluorocarbon body and ABS, and an easy-clean claim. Flow control is a spring trigger. A shut-off valve is not listed. The pack weighs 720 g on the listing. Cleaner is still not included, which means two guns and still nothing to flush them with. At about £23.99 you are paying for a spare gun and the tubes, not for a higher score than the red Preciva at about £16.14.

Pros

  • Two guns, two scrapers, four short tubes and four long tubes
  • Same 4.4 shared rating as the single Preciva guns
  • Bullets name fluorocarbon and ABS
  • A spare gun if one clogs and you do not want to stop the job

Cons

  • About £23.99 for a review file that is not about this pack on its own
  • No shut-off valve listed
  • No cleaner for either gun
  • Dearer than one red Preciva plus a separate cleaner

Best for: You want two guns and the tubes in one order, and you already accept the shared review pool.

Less suitable: You only need one gun, or you would rather spend the difference on cleaner.

Common questions

Is the twin pack reviewed on its own?

No. It shares the 8,470 count, the rank, and the review text with the red and black single Preciva guns. Do not add that count to the singles.

What do the bullets say is in the box?

2 expandable foam guns, 2 scrapers, 4 short tubes and 4 long tubes. The body line says high-grade fluorocarbon and ABS. Cleaner is not included.

Does the listing name a shut-off valve?

No. Flow control is a spring trigger. A shut-off valve is not listed.

fischer PUP M3 metal foam gun

Rank 6

fischer PUP M3 metal foam gun

∼£20

Our view

The fischer PUP M3, part 33208, is a metal gun at about £19.84, rated 4.4 from 1,223 amazon.co.uk reviews, and it is the listing in this set that matches a UK manufacturer page. The bullets say a PTFE-coated basket, adjustable flow, and a universal adapter for one-component PU cans. The amazon technical table prints 9.85 g, which cannot be the mass of a metal gun listed at 30 cm, so that figure is not a specification you can use. The colour field prints Rot. Some reviewers say it seals and lasts, including a can left on for three weeks. Others say it died after one use, or lost pressure after about three months and a can change. A shut-off valve and a nozzle count are not on the amazon line. Cleaner is not in the box. It is the top pick in this comparison when you want the traceable part, and it is not a heavy-duty site gun.

Pros

  • Part 33208, matching the fischer UK PUP M3 page
  • 4.4 from 1,223 reviews on this ASIN
  • PTFE-coated basket and a universal adapter in the bullets
  • Some reviewers left a can on for three weeks and still used it

Cons

  • Printed weight of 9.85 g is not a usable mass
  • Other reviews: dead after one use, or pressure lost after about three months
  • Shut-off and nozzle count are not listed on amazon.co.uk
  • No cleaner in the box, and it is not a heavy-duty site gun

Best for: You want the top pick in this set: the named fischer part, and you can live with mixed reviews about how long it lasts.

Less suitable: You want a verified weight, a heavy-duty site gun, or the lowest price in the table.

Common questions

Why is the weight not usable?

The amazon.co.uk technical table prints 9.85 g. A metal gun listed at 30 cm cannot weigh that. The figure is copied as printed and is not corrected.

What coating does the listing state?

The bullets say a PTFE-coated basket, a metal gun, adjustable flow, and a universal adapter. A shut-off valve and a nozzle count are not listed.

How long do reviewers say it lasts?

Some say it seals and lasts, including a can left on for three weeks. Others say it died after one use, or lost pressure after about three months and a can change.

DAFEIKE detachable foam gun

Rank 7

DAFEIKE detachable foam gun

∼£19

Our view

The DAFEIKE Fsg-001 is the only gun in this set with a barrel and muzzle that come off, at about £18.89, with six nozzles and two wrenches in the included line. It is rated 4.3 from 16 reviews, and some of that text is not from the UK. The title claims PTFE. The technical table does not name a rear dial, though reviews describe a flow knob, and the bullets name a red valve that seals the barrel. One review says a can would not seal, emptied itself, and needed pliers on the flange; that buyer then bought a different gun. The basket did not seal, and the can could not be unscrewed by hand. Foam and cleaner are not in the box. The wrenches are for taking the barrel off, not a promise that a cured blockage will come out in pieces.

Pros

  • Barrel and muzzle come off, with two wrenches included
  • Six nozzles in the box
  • PTFE claimed in the title
  • 4.3 from 16 reviews, larger than the one-review and four-review guns

Cons

  • Some of the 16 reviews are not from the UK
  • One can would not seal and emptied itself; the flange needed pliers
  • A flow knob is not on the technical table
  • Cleaner is not included

Best for: You want a barrel you can take off with the included wrenches, and you will check the basket seal on the first can.

Less suitable: You need a large UK-only review file, or a flow control printed in the technical table.

Common questions

Do you need tools to take it apart?

Two wrenches are included for the barrel and muzzle. The listing is not a tool-free strip. The wrenches undo the barrel. They do not prove a cured blockage will come out in pieces.

Is the flow knob on the technical table?

No. The technical table does not name a rear dial. Reviews describe a flow knob. The bullets name a red valve that seals the barrel.

What failed in the reviews?

One can would not seal and emptied itself, and the flange needed pliers. That reviewer then bought a different gun. The basket did not seal, and the can could not be unscrewed by hand.

Lytool PU expanding foam gun

Rank 8

Lytool PU expanding foam gun

∼£14

Our view

The Lytool FG26518 is an aluminium-body gun at about £14.29, rated 4.2 from 2,412 amazon.co.uk reviews, the largest review file that belongs to one ASIN in this set. The bullets describe a valve you turn to push leftover foam out of the barrel, and they present that as reducing detergent cleaning. Reviewers still report a blocked gun when that routine was skipped. A seal lever failed on the second canister, a trigger bent after about four weeks, and one of two guns blocked after a single use until cleaner was bought. PTFE is not stated. The box does not include foam or cleaner. At about £14.29 you get the biggest independent sample in the table, and you still need a solvent can if the foam can comes off.

Pros

  • About £14.29 with 4.2 from 2,412 reviews on this ASIN
  • Bullets name a lightweight aluminium body and a metal trigger
  • A valve to push remaining foam out of the barrel
  • Large flow-control knob

Cons

  • PTFE is not stated on the listing
  • A seal lever failed on the second canister in one review
  • A trigger bent after about four weeks
  • Blocked after one use when the empty-barrel routine was skipped; cleaner is not in the box

Best for: You want the best value in this set: the lowest price among guns with more than a thousand reviews of their own, and you will buy cleaner separately.

Less suitable: You need a PTFE coating printed on the listing, or a lock that reviews say actually shuts the trigger off.

Common questions

Does it have a shut-off valve?

The bullets describe a valve you turn to push out remaining foam. They present that as reducing detergent cleaning. Reviewers still report a blocked gun when that routine was skipped.

Is a non-stick coating listed?

No. A non-stick coating is not stated. The bullets name a lightweight aluminium body and a metal trigger.

What failed in the reviews?

A seal lever failed on the second canister, a trigger bent after about four weeks, and one of two guns blocked after a single use until cleaner was bought.

Grapelet PU foam gun

Rank 9

Grapelet PU foam gun

Our view

The Grapelet 011 is a 290 g metal gun at about £8.99, the lowest shelf price in this set, with 4.1 from 221 amazon.co.uk reviews. The included-components line is a foam gun and one nozzle, and the bullets name an aluminium alloy body and a copper muzzle. Reviewers describe it blocking on first use, seizing between jobs, and snapping when they tried to strip it. One review says nothing came out with a Soudal can, and cleaner did not clear it. Foam and a can of cleaner are not in the box. A spring trigger and a flow screw are listed, and a shut-off valve is not. At this price you are buying a first gun that may die on the first can, not a spare you can strip back to life.

Pros

  • About £8.99, the lowest shelf price in this set
  • 4.1 from 221 reviews, larger than the handful-review guns
  • One nozzle in the box; bullets name an aluminium alloy body and a copper muzzle
  • Spring trigger and a flow screw

Cons

  • Reviews report a block on first use and a gun that snapped when stripped
  • One review: nothing came out with a Soudal can, and cleaner did not clear it
  • No foam and no cleaner in the box
  • A shut-off valve is not listed

Best for: You want the cheapest gun in this set for a first try, and you will buy cleaner in the same order.

Less suitable: You need a gun that reviewers say survives being taken apart, or you want a named UK manufacturer part.

Several reviewers say it blocked on first use, seized between jobs, or snapped when they tried to strip it. One says nothing came out with a Soudal can and cleaner did not clear it.

What is the body made of?

The technical table says metal, 290 g. The bullets say an aluminium alloy body and a copper muzzle.

GDUSMCN long-reach PTFE foam gun

Rank 10

GDUSMCN long-reach PTFE foam gun

∼£17

Our view

The GDUSMCN 003 is a PTFE-coated gun at about £16.99 with three metal extension nozzles and a cleaning brush named in the bullets. The amazon.co.uk rating is 4.0 from one review. That single text says it reached a draught gap behind kitchen pipes that a straw could not, that it screwed onto a standard can, and that a metal extension was used for that gap. There is no criticism in that one text, and one text cannot show what fails. The bullets say cured residue peels without harsh solvent cleaners. That is a listing claim. Cleaner in the box is still no, and the warranty line says included components 1 even while the bullets list a kit. A pressure-relief lock and a rear flow knob are named. Buy it for the extensions, and treat the PTFE sentence as a claim you have not seen tested.

Pros

  • Three metal extension nozzles and a cleaning brush in the bullets
  • PTFE named on the body and the tubes
  • Rear flow knob and a pressure-relief lock
  • The one review reached a gap behind kitchen pipes with a metal extension

Cons

  • 4.0 from one review
  • The included-components line says 1 while the bullets list a kit
  • Peels without harsh solvent is a listing claim, and cleaner is not in the box
  • No second review to show a failure or a repeat of the pipe job

Best for: You have a gap a short nozzle will not reach, and you can accept a gun with a single review.

Less suitable: You want several hundred reviews, or you plan to skip cleaner because the bullets say residue peels off.

It reached a draught gap behind kitchen pipes that a straw could not, it screwed onto a standard can, and a metal extension was used for that gap. There is no criticism in that one text.

CEYOME expanding foam gun

Rank 11

CEYOME expanding foam gun

∼£16

Our view

The CEYOME F247 is a steel gun at about £15.99, listed at 380 g, with an adjustable rear valve and bullets that say it fits threaded polyurethane foam canisters. The amazon.co.uk line is 3.6 from five ratings, and the four written texts are positive. Several of those texts are not marked Verified Purchase, so the file is too small to treat as a pattern of success or of failure. The bullets say flow stops when you release the trigger. A separate lock valve is not listed. Foam and cleaner are not in the box. It first appeared on 18 March 2026, which is why the review count is still a handful.

Pros

  • Steel body listed at 380 g
  • Adjustable rear valve; bullets say flow stops when the trigger is released
  • Bullets name compatibility with threaded PU cans
  • The four written reviews are positive

Cons

  • 3.6 from five ratings, too small a sample to judge
  • Several review texts are not marked Verified Purchase
  • No separate lock valve is listed
  • No foam and no cleaner in the box

Best for: You want a steel gun with a rear valve and you can accept a listing that has only five ratings.

Less suitable: You want a review file of several hundred texts, or a shut-off that has been argued over in reviews.

The bullets say it is compatible with threaded polyurethane foam canisters. Foam and cleaner are not in the box.

How many reviews are on the listing?

Four written reviews and a 3.6 score from five ratings. The four texts are positive. Several are not marked Verified Purchase. There is no repeated complaint to record.

Does flow stop when you release the trigger?

The bullets say flow stops when the trigger is released. A separate lock valve is not listed.

How we compared

Eleven amazon.co.uk foam gun listings were scored on a 0–100 scale on 19 October 2026. This is not a laboratory test. Amazon evidence is 30 points, from the star rating, with a deduction when the count is under about 50, when the written set is a handful, or when the text is shared with another ASIN. Listing fit is 30 points: a stated body, a flow control, and a basket or thread line that matches the use. A contradictory kit line, an unusable weight, and a lock valve that reviews say will not close are deducted. Review outcome is 25 points. A bead from a gun that still flushes scores higher than a first-use clog, a basket that pours foam, or a gun that snapped when it was stripped. Value is 15 points, from the shelf price in GBP against a gun with several hundred reviews of its own. The lowest price does not score when first-use failures are the pattern. A twin pack does not score as a bargain when it reuses another listing’s reviews. Those deductions sit inside the four blocks. They are not a fifth weight. Each block is capped at its own weight, and the four weights sum to 100. The highest score is the top pick. The best price against an independent review file of more than a thousand texts, after cleaner is still extra, is the best value. One of each. A PTFE bullet, a no-cleaner line, or a 5.0 from four reviews is not scored as a measured seal. The three Preciva listings share one review block, so that 8,470 is counted once.

1

Amazon evidence

30%

Star rating on amazon.co.uk, capped at 30. Deduct when the count is under about 50, when the written set is a handful, or when the text is shared with another ASIN. The Preciva 8,470 is one shared block, not three samples. A 5.0 from four reviews does not outrank a large file on its own listing.

2

Listing fit

30%

A stated body, a flow control, and a basket or thread line that matches the use, capped at 30. Deduct a contradictory kit line, an unusable printed weight, and a lock valve that reviews say will not close. No gun here is scored as a heavy-duty site gun.

3

Review outcome

25%

Reviews that describe a bead from a gun that still flushes, capped at 25. A first-use clog, a basket that pours foam, or a gun that snapped when it was stripped scores lower on this block.

4

Value

15%

Shelf price in GBP against a gun with several hundred reviews of its own, capped at 15. The lowest price does not score when first-use failures are the pattern. A twin pack does not score as a bargain when it reuses another listing’s reviews.

Foam gun buying guide

Match the can to a screw-on basket, then check flow, a valve that actually closes, and whether cleaner is in the same order. A star rating, a PTFE bullet, or a title that lists extra nozzles is not a seal test.

What is a foam gun?

A foam gun is a hand tool for gun-grade, one-component polyurethane expanding foam. It screws onto the can. A trigger and a rear flow screw meter the bead. In the UK you buy one when a straw can is too coarse for several gaps around windows, doors and pipes. On the evidence that exists, quality is a basket that seals, a flow screw that moves, and a gun you can still flush. A star rating on its own is not that test. The can has to be gun-grade.

Best for

  • Several gaps around windows, doors and pipes, with a gun-grade can
  • A first gun instead of a straw, if cleaner is in the same order

Not ideal for

  • A fire door, a flue, or a specified fire-stopping line
  • A straw can on the thread, or stripping a seized gun until it snaps

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    No cleaner in the order

None of these eleven boxes includes a cleaner. If the can comes off and you do not flush, reviews describe guns that block, including on the first can. Acetone cleaner does not remove foam that has already cured.

  2. 2

The wrong can, or a joint filled flush

A straw can is a different system. Gun-foam joints are filled to about 60 to 70 percent, not flush, because the foam keeps expanding. Straw joints stay nearer 50 percent.

  3. 3

    A no-cleaner title, then a snapped gun

A bullet that says residue peels without solvent is a listing claim. Stripping a seized gun is how one review ended with a broken body. Clean it, or leave the can on. Do not force a cured blockage apart.

What to weigh up

Thread and seal

High

The can must be gun-grade, with a screw thread the basket can seal. Straw cans, and fittings that are not a screw-on gun can, are different systems and do not belong in this ranking. Reviews that describe foam pouring out at the basket, or a can that will not unscrew by hand, are seal failures. The fischer bullets name a universal adapter for one-component PU cans. CEYOME and Caelvix state threaded or screw-on PU cans.

Cleaner, flow and coating

High

Buy cleaner in the same order if the can will come off. Acetone dissolves uncured foam only, and it is flammable. Set a rear flow screw small, then use the trigger. A lock or seal valve counts only when reviews say it closes. WORKPRO names a lock that some reviewers say will not shut off. Lytool names a valve to empty the barrel, and reviewers still report a clog when that step was skipped. PTFE, Teflon, or a no-cleaner bullet is a listing line, not a test.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

First gun, not a straw

You are replacing straw cans and you need a basket that seals, plus cleaner on day one. The Lytool is the best value: about £14.29, 4.2 from 2,412 reviews on this ASIN, with a valve to empty the barrel. PTFE is not stated. Reviewers still report a clog when that routine was skipped.

Several frames

You are foaming more than one frame and you want a gun with its own large review file. The fischer PUP M3 is the top pick at about £19.84, part 33208, 4.4 from 1,223 reviews. A shut-off is not listed, so leave a part-used can on the gun. Lifespan reviews are mixed.

A gap the nozzle misses

You need metal extensions for a gap a short nozzle will not reach. The GDUSMCN lists three metal extension nozzles, a cleaning brush and a pressure-relief lock, at about £16.99. The rating is 4.0 from one review. The peel-without-solvent line is a claim, and cleaner is not in the box.

Common questions about foam guns

Which foam gun is the top pick in 2026?
The top pick is the fischer PUP M3, part 33208, at about £19.84. On amazon.co.uk it is 4.4 from 1,223 reviews, and it matches the fischer UK page. The bullets name a PTFE-coated basket and a universal adapter. The technical table prints 9.85 g, which is not a usable weight. Some reviewers left a can on for three weeks. Others report a dead gun after one use. It is not a heavy-duty site gun, and this is not a laboratory test.
Which foam gun is the best value?
The best value is the Lytool at about £14.29, 4.2 from 2,412 reviews on this ASIN, the largest file on one listing. The bullets name an aluminium body and a valve to push leftover foam out of the barrel. PTFE is not stated. Reviewers still report a clog when that routine was skipped, a failed seal lever, and a trigger that bent. Cleaner is not in the box. The about £8.99 gun is not best value: reviews describe a block on the first can.
How much does a foam gun cost?
On amazon.co.uk on 19 October 2026 these eleven guns run from about £8.99 to about £23.99. Single guns cluster from about £14.29 to about £19.84. The two-gun pack is about £23.99. None of the boxes includes foam or cleaner. Other shops listed different guns from about £15 to about £59. A trade how-to put a basic gun around £20 and cleaner around £5.40. These are shelf prices on that date, not a national average.
Do you need foam gun cleaner as well?
Yes, if the foam can will come off the gun. None of these eleven boxes includes gun cleaner. Acetone cleaner dissolves uncured foam. It does not remove cured foam, and it is flammable. If you leave a part-used can on the gun, you may not need to flush during a short break. If you unscrew the can, empty it first and clean the gun. A listing that says residue peels without solvent is a claim, not a test. Do not pierce or burn the aerosol.
Should you buy a foam gun or a straw can?
A straw can is a one-piece aerosol with little control over how fast it empties. A foam gun screws onto a gun-grade can and meters the bead with a trigger and a flow screw. A straw can does not seal on these baskets. Gun-foam joints are filled to about 60 to 70 percent. Straw joints stay nearer 50 percent. The gun suits several gaps. The can and a cleaner are separate. The cans are in the expanding foam comparison.
Can you leave the foam can on the gun?
Yes, for a break between beads. Leave an opened gun-foam can on the gun. Some foams trim after about an hour, and a full cure can take up to 24 hours. If you remove the can, clean the gun and empty it before you unscrew it. On the top pick, some reviewers left a can on for three weeks. Others lost the gun after one use or after about three months. That is storage practice, not a promise every gun here will survive it.
Does a PTFE coating mean you can skip cleaner?
No. A PTFE or Teflon line, or a bullet that says you need no cleaner, is a listing claim. It is not a measured seal, and it does not replace a solvent can. The top pick states a PTFE-coated basket and still has no cleaner in the box. One long-reach gun says cured residue peels without harsh solvent, and cleaner is still absent. Reviews on other guns describe clogs when the flush was skipped. Buy the cleaner if the can will come off.
When should a professional take over?
Call a professional for a fire door, a flue, or a fire-stopping line, if you are already sensitised to isocyanates, if a frame has moved, or if the job is a specified loft or cavity system. The Health and Safety Executive notes that isocyanates in polyurethane foams can cause occupational asthma. Ventilate, protect your eyes, use suitable gloves, and wash skin with soap and water, not solvent. Do not pierce or burn aerosols. Council rules differ on leftover tins.

Our verdict

The top pick is the fischer PUP M3, part 33208, at about £19.84. It is a metal gun, 4.4 from 1,223 amazon.co.uk reviews, with a PTFE-coated basket and a universal adapter, and it matches the fischer UK page for that part. The technical table prints 9.85 g, which is not a usable weight. Some reviewers left a can on for three weeks. Others report a dead gun after one use, or pressure lost after about three months. It is not a heavy-duty site gun. The best value is the Lytool at about £14.29, 4.2 from 2,412 reviews on this ASIN, with a valve to push leftover foam out of the barrel. PTFE is not stated. Reviews include a seal lever that failed, a trigger that bent, and a clog when the empty-barrel routine was skipped. Cleaner is not in either box. The about £8.99 gun is not the best value: reviewers describe a block on the first can and a gun that snapped when it was stripped.
