Silicone spray comparison 2026

The best silicone sprays, compared.

Top pick: Soudal silicone spray 5-pack Best value: Soudal SP400 – Best price among single 400 ml cans that still have several hundred reviews: about £6.46, 4.5 from 615 reviews. Updated 22 October 2026.

A silicone spray is an aerosol that leaves a thin silicone film. In a UK home it is bought to cut friction and shed water on hinges, uPVC window gear, rubber seals and rails. People look for it when a door is stiff or a lock squeaks, often after a fitter has named silicone rather than ordinary oil. Cartridge sealant, tube grease and skin adhesive are different products. A water-based craft release belongs in its own row. What to look for is a named lubricant, a temperature line on that can, a straw or a controllable nozzle, and reviews that talk about hinges and seals. Those checks are set out in the [silicone spray buying guide](/hub/fillers-adhesives-and-sprays/silicone-spray/sub/silicone-spray-buying-guide). The film is not a gap filler and it does not restore cracked rubber. Do not spray a part you will paint, and do not use it on brakes, pedals or steering wheels. Under GB CLP these aerosols are typically extremely flammable and pressurised. Ventilate, and do not store the can above 50 °C.

The best silicone sprays in detail

Soudal silicone spray 5-pack

Rank 1

Soudal silicone spray 5-pack

∼£20

Our view

The Soudal five-pack is about £20.33 with 4.8 from 46 reviews, and the saved listing does not state millilitres per can. A bullet says a long attachment nozzle is provided, and the ten review texts mention window hinges, squeaky doors, patio doors and, in one case, a winter jacket. No repeated defect is named in those texts, which is a thinner record than the 615 reviews on the single SP400. The colour field says black and the usage line says automotive, construction and home repair, without a temperature. A 4.8 on 46 reviews does not outrank a 4.5 from 615 when you cannot see the fill. Buy the pack only after the live page states the millilitres and you actually want five cans.

Pros

  • Five cans at about £20.33 if the live page confirms the fill
  • A long attachment nozzle is named in the bullets
  • Review texts mention window hinges, doors and patio doors

Cons

  • Millilitres per can are not in the file
  • 46 reviews is a small sample next to the single SP400
  • No temperature figure

Best for: Someone who has checked the can size on the live page and wants several Soudal aerosols at once.

Less suitable: A first purchase where you need a stated 400 ml fill and a large review sample.

Common questions

How much is in each can?

The saved listing says five pieces and does not state millilitres per can.

Does the listing mention a nozzle?

Yes. A bullet says a long attachment nozzle is provided.

What do the ten reviews cover?

Window hinges, squeaky doors, patio doors and, in one review, winter jackets. No repeated defect is named.

Soudal silicone spray 3 x 400 ml

Rank 2

Soudal silicone spray 3 x 400 ml

∼£14

Our view

The clear Soudal three-pack is three 400 ml cans, 1,200 ml in total, at about £13.69, with 4.7 from five reviews and no review bodies in the saved listing. The water-resistance field says waterproof and the colour field says clear. Suitable materials are not stated, unlike the black three-pack at about £13.58, which lists fabric, glass, metal and more. Five ratings without a captured comment cannot show whether a straw arrives or whether the film suits a hinge. At roughly £4.56 a can it looks cheap beside the about £6.46 single, but you are paying for fill you cannot judge from reviews. Buy it when you already know this Soudal spray and you want three clear-labelled cans, not when this is your first can.

Pros

  • 3 × 400 ml, 1,200 ml stated, at about £13.69
  • Colour field says clear
  • Water-resistance field says waterproof

Cons

  • 4.7 from only five reviews
  • No review texts in the file
  • Suitable materials are not stated

Best for: A repeat buyer who wants three clear-labelled 400 ml Soudal cans and already knows the film.

Less suitable: A first can, or any comparison that depends on reading how the spray behaved.

Liqui Moly 3310 300 ml

Rank 3

Liqui Moly 3310 300 ml

∼£11

Our view

Liqui Moly 3310 is a 300 ml spray at about £10.95, rated 4.6 from 3,287 reviews. The listing’s upper temperature is 250 °C, the only temperature figure among these ten products, and the compatible-material line says plastics and rubber. Water resistance is not stated, and the best-sellers rank sits in Automotive rather than DIY & Tools. More than one review says there is no long nozzle for thin seals, so a narrow door gasket is harder to hit than with a straw. The listed weight is 179 g, against 320 g on the Soudal 400 ml can, and you are buying 300 ml rather than 400 ml. Many texts in that review file are not from the UK, so the count is not a UK-only sample. It fits car rubbers and plastic panels when that 250 °C line is the reason you opened the page. It is a weak default for a uPVC lock if you needed a straw and the lowest price.

Pros

  • Upper temperature of 250 °C printed on this listing
  • 4.6 from 3,287 reviews
  • Compatible materials named as plastics and rubber
  • Aimed at car rubbers and plastic panels in this set

Cons

  • 300 ml at about £10.95, smaller and dearer than Soudal’s 400 ml
  • Reviews say there is no long nozzle for thin seals
  • Water resistance is not stated

Best for: Car rubbers and plastic panels when you want the only stated upper temperature in this comparison.

Less suitable: A narrow uPVC seal where you need a straw, or a buyer comparing 400 ml cans on price alone.

Common questions

What temperature does the listing state?

The upper temperature rating is 250 °C. A lower figure is not in the saved listing.

The compatible-material line says plastics and rubber.

Do the reviews mention a straw?

Yes. More than one review says there is no long nozzle for thin seals.

3-IN-ONE silicone spray 400 ml

Rank 4

3-IN-ONE silicone spray 400 ml

∼£10

Our view

The 3-IN-ONE 400 ml silicone lubricant is about £9.78 on amazon.co.uk, rated 4.6 from 2,383 reviews, which is the largest review count on a single can in this comparison. The compatible-material line names rubber, plastic, wood, vinyl and metal, and the review set includes sticking PVC doors, window runners, patio rails and locks. The manufacturer field says WD-40 Company and the part is 44015, with viscosity listed as low, so you are buying a light film rather than a grease that stays packed in a roller. Several reviewers say the straw was missing or would not stay in the nozzle, which matters on a lock keep where you do not want a cloud of spray on a white frame. There is no temperature figure on this listing. It is the top pick here for uPVC hinges and rubber seals because the sample is large and the materials are named, not because it is the cheapest can.

Pros

  • 4.6 from 2,383 reviews on a stated 400 ml can
  • Listing names rubber, plastic, wood, vinyl and metal
  • Reviews cover PVC doors, window runners, patio rails and locks
  • Low-viscosity film, part 44015, from WD-40 Company

Cons

  • About £9.78, above the Soudal 400 ml can at about £6.46
  • Straw missing or loose in several reviews
  • No temperature rating on the listing

Best for: uPVC hinges, locks and rubber seals when you want the largest review sample on a 400 ml can.

Less suitable: A brake, a surface you will paint later, or a buyer who needs the lowest price and a straw that is certain to be in the cap.

Yes. The review set includes sticking PVC doors, window runners, patio rails and locks.

Is a straw always in the box?

Not in the reviews. Several people say the straw was missing or would not stay in the nozzle.

3-IN-ONE silicone spray multi-can

Rank 5

3-IN-ONE silicone spray multi-can

∼£92

Our view

This 3-IN-ONE listing is about £91.90 and the page does not agree with itself. The title says a pack of 2, while the included-components line and the volume block say 12 × 400 ml, 4,800 ml and 4.39 kg. The star line is 4.6 from 2,383 reviews, the same count as the single 400 ml can, and the 50 texts in the saved listing read as that single can rather than comments on a case. Materials on the spec line are metal, rubber and vinyl, with plastic and wood also in the bullets. Until you have confirmed how many cans will arrive, a price per can could be about £46 or about £7.66, and this file cannot finish that sum. Leave the row unless the live basket states one pack count in one place.

Pros

  • Same material family as the single 3-IN-ONE 400 ml can
  • Spec block, if it is the one you receive, is 12 × 400 ml
  • Water-resistant seal is claimed in the bullets

Cons

  • Title says pack of 2 and the spec says 12
  • About £91.90 with no reliable price per can in this file
  • Review texts match the single can, not a case

Best for: Only a buyer who has confirmed the can count on the live amazon.co.uk page before paying about £91.90.

Less suitable: Anyone comparing shelf prices, or a household that wants one 400 ml can.

Common questions

The title says pack of 2. Number of items, packs and included components all say 12 × 400 ml.

Are the reviews about the case?

The 50 texts in the saved listing match the single 400 ml listing, not comments on a 12-can case.

What materials are on the spec line?

Metal, rubber and vinyl. The bullets also name plastic and wood.

Everbuild silicone spray 400 ml

Rank 6

Everbuild silicone spray 400 ml

Our view

Everbuild SILSPRAY is a 400 ml dry silicone lubricant at about £8.00, rated 4.6 from 67 reviews, and a bullet names mould making and release as well as windows, doors and home hardware. The eight review texts in the file are short: a garage door, metal hinges and a curtain track, with no repeated fault described. Origin is listed as the United Kingdom and the container is a tin of 0.4 litres. There is no temperature and no water-resistance line. Sixty-seven reviews is a modest count next to 615 on Soudal SP400 and 2,383 on 3-IN-ONE, so the 4.6 does not carry the same weight. Choose it when you want a dry-silicone claim on a mid-price 400 ml can. Look elsewhere if you need a large review sample or a stated temperature.

Pros

  • 400 ml at about £8.00, between the Soudal and 3-IN-ONE singles
  • Described on the listing as a dry silicone lubricant
  • Mould release is named in the bullets as well as home hardware
  • Origin field says United Kingdom

Cons

  • 4.6 from 67 reviews, a small sample beside the larger cans
  • Eight short reviews, with no repeated fault and little detail
  • No temperature and no water-resistance line

Best for: Hinges, a garage door or a light mould-release job when you specifically want a dry-film claim at about £8.00.

Less suitable: A buyer who wants either the lowest price with 615 reviews or the only stated 250 °C line.

What do the eight reviews say?

They are short. Uses named are a garage door, metal hinges and curtain track. No repeated fault is described.

Fuchoi mould release 200 g

Rank 7

Fuchoi mould release 200 g

Our view

Fuchoi C035uk is a water-based mould release at about £8.99, rated 4.6 from 25 reviews, and the material line includes water, additives, a hydrophobic agent and silsesquioxanes. The bullets describe resin, candle and soap moulds, not a hinge aerosol, and the application line is to shake, spray from 6–8 inches, brush the coat even, and wait about 60 seconds. Several reviewers describe two bottles, one spray cap and a brush, while the title says 200 g, so the pack you picture may not match the box. The date-first-available line is 12 March 2026, a short sales history next to the Soudal and 3-IN-ONE cans. Use it to help resin, candles or soap leave a silicone, metal, polyester, concrete or plastic mould. Do not buy it to free a uPVC lock.

Pros

  • Water-based mould release at about £8.99, distinct from the solvent aerosols
  • Instructions name 6–8 inches, a brush and about 60 seconds
  • Aimed at resin, candle and soap moulds

Cons

  • Not a hinge or door-seal lubricant
  • Title says 200 g; reviewers describe two bottles, a cap and a brush
  • 4.6 from 25 reviews, and the listing dates from March 2026

Best for: Demoulding resin, candle or soap from a mould you can brush.

Less suitable: uPVC hinges, locks, rubber door seals and any job that needs a solvent silicone film.

Soudal silicone spray 3 x 400 ml black

Rank 8

Soudal silicone spray 3 x 400 ml black

∼£14

Our view

The black Soudal three-pack is also 1,200 ml, at about £13.58, with 4.6 from 11 reviews and no review texts in the file. The compatible-material line is wide: fabric, glass, jewellery, leather, metal, paper, plastic, porcelain, stone and wood. That list is catalogue breadth, not a record that each surface was tried, and jewellery or paper is a strange reason to buy a solvent aerosol. The other three-pack is clear at about £13.69, so colour is the practical difference on the page, not a large price gap. Eleven ratings without comments is still a small sample next to 615 on the single SP400. It is a black-labelled spare-can buy if you already use this spray, and a weak first purchase if you wanted to read how it behaved on a door.

Pros

  • 3 × 400 ml at about £13.58, a few pence under the clear three-pack
  • Colour field says black
  • A long materials list is printed, including metal, plastic and wood

Cons

  • 4.6 from 11 reviews and no review texts
  • The materials list is too wide to treat as a tested set
  • No temperature figure

Best for: A repeat buyer who wants three black-labelled 400 ml cans and has already used the spray.

Less suitable: A first purchase, or a job where you needed review comments on hinges or seals.

Soudal SP400 400 ml

Rank 9

Soudal SP400 400 ml

Our view

Soudal SP400 is a single 400 ml aerosol at about £6.46 on amazon.co.uk, with 4.5 from 615 reviews, and the bullets say the can sprays at any angle. Several of the 50 reviews praise an attached nozzle, and others say the straw was missing or would not fit. You should check the cap before you try to lay a thin line along a seal. The technical block prints a one-hour cure-time field, which is catalogue language on a solvent aerosol, not a bead that skins like bathroom silicone. The surface line runs from pipe and brick to bath, worktop, sink and window, and there is no temperature figure. Among the single 400 ml cans here it is the best value, because the shelf price is the lowest and the review count is large enough for the straw complaint to show up more than once.

Pros

  • 400 ml at about £6.46, the lowest single-can price in this set
  • 4.5 from 615 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Listing says the aerosol sprays at any angle
  • A nozzle is mentioned often enough that a missing straw is a known check

Cons

  • Straw missing or a poor fit in several reviews
  • The one-hour field is not a sealant cure
  • No temperature figure on the listing

Best for: A first 400 ml can for hinges and window hardware when you want the lowest shelf price with several hundred reviews.

Less suitable: A job that needs a stated temperature, a guaranteed straw, or a water-based mould release.

Soudal silicone spray 2 x 400 ml

Rank 10

Soudal silicone spray 2 x 400 ml

∼£10

Our view

Two 400 ml Soudal aerosols are listed as 800 ml together at about £9.91, so you are paying about the price of one 3-IN-ONE can for two tins if both are the fill the title states. The star line is 4.3 from 19 reviews, and the saved listing holds only four short positive texts, which is too small a sample to show a recurring fault or a recurring success. The listing names fabric, glass, metal, plastic and rubber, and the water-resistance field says waterproof. Viscosity is low and the colour field is black. You are buying a spare can beside the one in use, not a better-documented product than the single SP400 at about £6.46 with 615 reviews. Leave it if you wanted review detail rather than a second tin.

Pros

  • 2 × 400 ml, 800 ml stated, at about £9.91
  • Materials named: fabric, glass, metal, plastic and rubber
  • Water-resistance field says waterproof

Cons

  • 4.3 from only 19 reviews
  • Four short texts, with no repeated outcome to judge
  • No temperature figure

Best for: A spare 400 ml Soudal can as well as the one you will open, once you accept a thin review file.

Less suitable: A first can, if you want hundreds of reviews before you trust the straw and the film.

How we compared

Ten amazon.co.uk silicone spray listings were scored on a 0–100 scale. Amazon evidence is 30 points, from the star rating, with a deduction when the count is small or when two ASINs share one review block. Listing fit is 35 points. A stated volume, a materials line, and a form that matches the job score higher. A title that disagrees with the pack count, or a millilitre field left blank, is deducted. Review outcome is 20 points. Reviews that name a hinge, a lock, a seal or a mould score higher than a star line with no review text. Value is 15 points, from the shelf price in GBP against a can whose size is stated. The lowest price per tin does not win when the review file is empty or the pack count is unresolved. The highest score is the top pick. The best price among single 400 ml cans that still have several hundred reviews is the best value. One of each. A waterproof bullet is a listing claim, not a measured film. A temperature from another brand’s sheet is not copied onto a row that leaves the field blank. The one-hour field on a solvent aerosol is not a sealant cure. Prices are the amazon.co.uk shelf prices stored for 19 October 2026. This order is the listing score, not a laboratory test.

Silicone spray buying guide

Match the job, the materials on that can, and a nozzle you can aim. A temperature line belongs to the product that prints it. A waterproof bullet is a listing claim, not a measured film, and a one-hour catalogue field is not a sealant cure.

What is silicone spray?

A silicone spray in this UK category is an aerosol that leaves a thin silicone film. It is used to cut friction and shed water on hinges, uPVC window gear, rubber seals, rails and light mould release. Shoppers are mostly householders with a stiff door or a squeaking lock, often after a window fitter named silicone rather than ordinary oil. Cartridge sealant, silicone grease in a tube and skin adhesive are not this category.

Best for

  • Hinges, uPVC window gear, locks and rubber seals that need a thin silicone film
  • A stated mould-release job, with a water-based product kept separate from the solvent cans

Not ideal for

  • Brakes, pedals, steering wheels and any surface you will paint
  • A sealant bead, a seized thread, or food contact

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Sealant, or oil on rubber

A cartridge does not film a hinge, and multi-purpose oil is the wrong film for rubber. Soudal and 3-IN-ONE both warn off paint. Soudal excludes brake drums and discs.

  2. 2

    A pack count that disagrees

One 3-IN-ONE row is titled as a pack of 2 and also says 12 × 400 ml at about £91.90. The Soudal five-pack does not state millilitres per can. Confirm the live page before you treat either as a bargain.

  3. 3

A soaked lock, or a shared temperature

Use a thin film and wipe. Do not copy −40 °C to +200 °C from a Soudal or 3-IN-ONE sheet onto a listing that leaves temperature blank. Liqui Moly 3310 is the only row here with a printed upper rating, 250 °C.

What to weigh up

Job, materials and nozzle

High

A solvent aerosol is for hardware and rubber. A heavier grease is for loaded metal. A penetrant is for a seized thread. A water-based release is for resin and candles. 3-IN-ONE and Soudal name rubber, plastic and light metal, and both warn off paint. Soudal’s sheet excludes brake drums and discs. 3-IN-ONE excludes pedals and steering wheels. Reviewers of Soudal SP400 and 3-IN-ONE repeatedly mention a straw that is missing, loose or hard to aim. Soudal’s sheet says spray from about 20 cm.

Temperature, pack and safety

High

Soudal’s UK sheet of 20 April 2022 and the 3-IN-ONE professional sheet both state −40 °C to +200 °C. Those amazon.co.uk rows in this set leave temperature blank, so the sheet figure is not written into the table. Liqui Moly 3310 states 250 °C as an upper rating only. Everbuild’s file has no temperature line. Reconcile pack count with the technical block: the about £91.90 3-IN-ONE row says 2 in the title and 12 × 400 ml in the spec, and the five-pack does not state millilitres.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

uPVC hinges and locks

You want a thin film on sticking PVC doors, window runners, patio rails and locks, and the largest review sample on a single 400 ml can. 3-IN-ONE is the top pick: about £9.78, 4.6 from 2,383 reviews, with rubber, plastic, wood, vinyl and metal named. Several reviews say the straw was missing. There is no temperature on this listing.

Car and caravan rubbers

You want a stated temperature for door rubbers, sunroof channels and plastic panels, and you will stay off brakes and pedals. Liqui Moly 3310 is 300 ml at about £10.95, 4.6 from 3,287 reviews, with an upper rating of 250 °C. Reviews say there is no long nozzle. Many of those texts are not UK reviews.

Resin and candle moulds

You need a water-based release for resin, candles or soap, not a workshop aerosol on a hinge. Fuchoi is about £8.99, 4.6 from 25 reviews. The bullets say shake, spray from 6–8 inches, brush, and wait about 60 seconds. The title says 200 g. Reviewers describe two bottles, a cap and a brush.

Common questions about silicone sprays

Which silicone spray is the top pick in 2026?
The top pick is the 3-IN-ONE 400 ml can at about £9.78. It is 4.6 from 2,383 amazon.co.uk reviews. The listing names rubber, plastic, wood, vinyl and metal, and the reviews cover PVC doors, runners, patio rails and locks. Several people say the straw was missing or would not stay in the nozzle. There is no temperature figure on this listing. This order is the listing score, not a laboratory test.
How much does silicone spray cost?
Shelf prices are the amazon.co.uk figures stored for 19 October 2026. Single 400 ml cans are Soudal SP400 at about £6.46, Everbuild at about £8.00 and 3-IN-ONE at about £9.78. Liqui Moly 3310 is 300 ml at about £10.95. A 20 October 2026 spot check showed that can at about £9.60. Multipacks run from about £9.91 to about £20.33, and one row is about £91.90. This is this set, not a national survey.
Is silicone spray the same as multi-purpose oil?
No. A silicone spray leaves a thin silicone film for hinges, rubber seals and light release. Multi-purpose oil is a different product, and it is a poor match for rubber. Soudal’s sheet warns off paint and excludes brake drums and discs. The 3-IN-ONE page also warns off paint, and it excludes pedals and steering wheels. When each one belongs is set out in silicone spray or multi-purpose oil.
Can you use silicone spray on uPVC windows and doors?
Yes. That is the job that dominates the reviews on the 3-IN-ONE 400 ml can: sticking PVC doors, window runners, patio rails and locks. Use a thin film on hinges and rubber seals. Do not soak the lock. If the door still will not lock after that film, call a glazier, and leave hidden regulators alone. A water-based mould release is a different product and will not free a seized lock.
What temperature should the can state?
Read the temperature on that product. Do not copy one brand’s figure onto a listing that leaves the field blank. The Soudal UK sheet and the 3-IN-ONE professional sheet both state −40 °C to +200 °C, but those amazon.co.uk rows in this set still show no temperature. Liqui Moly 3310 is the only listing here with a figure, an upper rating of 250 °C, and no lower figure. Everbuild’s file has no temperature line.
Is silicone spray food safe?
No. The 3-IN-ONE UK page says NSF H2, which is for food-related areas where contact is not expected. It is not an edible coating, and it is not a reason to spray a surface you eat from. The other cans in this set do not carry that line. Do not treat any of these aerosols as safe on food, and do not read a water-repellent bullet as a food-contact claim.
Can you paint over it, or use it on brakes?
No to both. Do not paint over a silicone film. Soudal’s sheet warns off paint and excludes brake drums and discs. 3-IN-ONE excludes places where extra slip is dangerous, such as pedals and steering wheels. A waterproof or water-repellent bullet is a listing claim, not a measured film and not a brake product. Leave brakes, pedals and steering wheels alone.
When should you use silicone oil instead?
Use a silicone spray for a thin film on hinges, seals and rails. Use a heavier silicone oil or grease when the part is loaded metal and a spray film will not stay put. Pourable silicone oil is a separate comparison: silicone oil comparison. Call a glazier if a uPVC door still will not lock after a thin film. A workshop using cans all day needs a COSHH assessment. HSE says the safety data sheet is not that assessment.

Our verdict

The top pick is the 3-IN-ONE 400 ml silicone spray at about £9.78: 4.6 from 2,383 amazon.co.uk reviews, with rubber, plastic, wood, vinyl and metal named, and reviews that cover PVC doors, runners, patio rails and locks. The straw is missing or loose in several reviews, and this listing has no temperature figure. The best value is Soudal SP400 at about £6.46, a single 400 ml can at 4.5 from 615 reviews. That is the lowest single-can price here with several hundred reviews. The bullets say it sprays at any angle. Straw complaints show up more than once, and the one-hour field is not a sealant cure. This order is the listing score, not a laboratory test.
