Two-part adhesive comparison 2026

The best two-part adhesives, compared.

Top pick: Everbuild Mitre Fast EVEMF/KIT Best value: Araldite Rapid ARA-400005 – Next score: two 15 ml tubes at about £7.85, 4.6 from 4,653 reviews, and water resistant on the listing. Updated 22 October 2026.

A two-part adhesive cures only when two components meet. In a UK workshop that is usually an epoxy resin and a hardener, a cyanoacrylate with an aerosol activator, or a two-part urethane for hard plastics. You buy one to close a tight mitre, mend ceramic, wood or metal, or hold a plastic clip that a one-part glue has already failed. Tell a suitable pack by the chemistry, the gap it is specified for, and a cure clock you can follow on the leaflet. An activator kit grabs in seconds and will not slide once the faces touch. An epoxy gives a working time, then a longer wait before full strength. A wide hole needs a filler. Polyethylene, polypropylene and PTFE are the usual exclusions on household epoxy sheets. A water-resistant line on a listing is not an immersion rating. The [two-part adhesive buying guide](/hub/fillers-adhesives-and-sprays/two-part-adhesive/sub/two-part-adhesive-buying-guide) sets the order: chemistry, substrate, gap, then the clock. A 5 minute claim is working time. Full strength on those packs is a later hour, often the next day.

A two-part adhesive cures only when two components meet. In a UK workshop that is usually an epoxy resin and a hardener, a cyanoacrylate with an aerosol activator, or a two-part urethane for hard plastics.

The best two-part adhesives in detail

Everbuild Mitre Fast EVEMF/KIT

Rank 1

Everbuild Mitre Fast EVEMF/KIT

Our view

Everbuild Mitre Fast EVEMF/KIT is another 50 g adhesive and 200 ml activator, priced at about £8.21, with 4.8 from 50 ratings. The saved listing holds 12 short texts, and they describe fast mitre and skirting bonds rather than a wide set of jobs. The country-of-origin field says United Kingdom, and this listing’s water field says water resistant. The full-cure field is empty, while the bullets still say the joint bonds within 10 seconds. That 4.8 is the highest star line in the set, on a much smaller sample than the MITRE1IND kit of the same size line at about £7.50. Open this part number only if you specifically want EVEMF/KIT.

Pros

  • 4.8 from 50 ratings
  • 50 g kit, UK origin field
  • Water resistant on this listing

Cons

  • Only 12 review texts
  • About £8.21 for the same size line
  • No full-cure field

Best for: A Mitre Fast buyer who specifically wants this part number.

Less suitable: A first kit, when the 50 g pack with 4,731 reviews is on the same page.

How many written reviews are in the file?

The listing shows 4.8 out of 5 from 50 ratings. The saved listing contains 12 review texts, and they are short. They describe fast mitre and skirting bonds.

Does the listing give a full cure time?

The full-cure field is missing. The bullets say it bonds within 10 seconds. Container type is aerosol can and syringe.

Everbuild Mitre Fast 50 g, MITRE1IND

Rank 2

Everbuild Mitre Fast 50 g, MITRE1IND

Our view

Everbuild Mitre Fast MITRE1IND is a 50 g adhesive bottle and a 200 ml activator, listed at about £7.50 with 4.7 from 4,731 amazon.co.uk reviews. The bullets say it bonds within 10 seconds and is specified for mitre gaps up to 0.2 mm on MDF, rubber, PVCu, wood, ceramics and metals. Reviewers use it on skirting and trim, and they also say that once the faces touch you cannot slide them into line. The same file repeats a nozzle that clogs after the bottle has been opened. The listing field says not water resistant, so this page does not treat the joint as waterproof. The full-cure cell says 24 hours, which is a different clock from the 10 second grab. It is the top pick in this set for a tight mitre you can align before contact, because that review file is the largest clear one for the job.

Pros

  • 10 second bond on close mitres
  • 4.7 from 4,731 reviews
  • About £7.50 for the 50 g kit

Cons

  • No slide after contact
  • Nozzle clogs in reviews
  • Listing says not water resistant

Best for: Skirting, architrave and other tight mitres you can align first.

Less suitable: A joint you still need to nudge, or a gap wider than 0.2 mm.

Araldite Rapid 80808

Rank 3

Araldite Rapid 80808

Our view

Araldite Rapid 80808 is a two-tube pack at about £8.06 with 4.7 from 615 reviews, and the origin field says United Kingdom. Reviews treat the separate tubes as a familiar Rapid repair for ceramic, plastic and wood. The brand field says Best Price Square, while the manufacturer field says Araldite. The full-cure cell says 15 minutes, and one reviewer said it took as long to set as ordinary Araldite. Specific uses include exterior, beside a water field that says not water resistant. The title says 15 ml while the unit count says 30 ml. Buy it if you already want Rapid tubes and will follow the insert, not if you are comparing cure times from the Amazon cells alone.

Pros

  • 4.7 from 615 reviews
  • Separate tubes
  • United Kingdom on the origin field

Cons

  • Brand field is Best Price Square
  • Not water resistant, uses include exterior
  • 15 ml title versus 30 ml unit count

Best for: Someone who already wants Araldite Rapid tubes and will read the pack insert.

Less suitable: A buyer comparing cure times from the Amazon cells alone.

Everbuild Mitre Fast MITRE2

Rank 4

Everbuild Mitre Fast MITRE2

Our view

Everbuild Mitre Fast MITRE2 is listed at about £8.99 with 4.7 from 270 reviews, and the title says 100 g of adhesive and 400 ml of activator. Reviews describe a grab in seconds on skirting and uPVC trim, with the same 0.2 mm gap line and no chance to slide the joint after contact. One bullet still says the kit includes 50 g and 200 ml, so the page does not agree with itself about what arrives. This listing’s water field says water resistant, unlike the 50 g MITRE1IND listing, which says not water resistant. The full-cure field says 3 hours rather than 24. The maker sheet used here does not add a waterproof test that would settle those two fields. Buy the larger title only if the bottles you receive match 100 g and 400 ml.

Pros

  • 4.7 from 270 reviews
  • Named for mitres and uPVC trim
  • Water resistant on this listing

Cons

  • Bullet still says 50 g and 200 ml
  • No slide after contact
  • Full cure field is 3 hours

Best for: Regular mitre work if the bottles match the 100 g title.

Less suitable: Anyone who needs the pack size to be unambiguous on the page.

Araldite Rapid 900762

Rank 5

Araldite Rapid 900762

Our view

Araldite Rapid 900762 is two 15 ml tubes at about £8.45, with 4.7 from 201 reviews and a water-resistant field. Reviewers like the separate tubes and mention a strong bond, and they also mention tubes that become tacky. The full-cure cell is printed as 1.2E+2 minutes, which is not a time you can read off the page. The brand field says Best Price Square, and the volume field says 15 ml against a 2 × 15 ml title. ARA-400005 is the same Rapid idea at about £7.85 with 4,653 reviews and a plain 2 hour full-cure field. This listing is for a buyer who specifically wants part 900762.

Pros

  • Separate tubes
  • 4.7 from 201 reviews
  • Water resistant on the listing

Cons

  • Cure cell is 1.2E+2 minutes
  • Brand field is Best Price Square
  • Dearer than the larger-review Rapid listing

Best for: A buyer who specifically wants part 900762.

Less suitable: A first Rapid pack, when ARA-400005 is on the same comparison.

Araldite Rapid ARA-400005

Rank 6

Araldite Rapid ARA-400005

Our view

Araldite Rapid ARA-400005 is two 15 ml tubes at about £7.85, with 4.6 from 4,653 reviews. You mix equal parts for about 30 seconds. The listing says the bond is water resistant, can be sanded or painted after 2 hours, and gives a full-cure field of 2 hours plus a range of −30°C to 65°C. Reviews still describe a short window to adjust the pieces, and a large mix gets messy in a small tube pack. The manufacturer cell says VELCRO Brand, which does not match the tube. The bullets also say not to use it as a rear-view mirror adhesive. It is the best value epoxy here for a household break in ceramic, wood or metal that you can support briefly, rather than a mitre that must grab in seconds.

Pros

  • 2 hour cure field and a paint claim
  • Water resistant on the listing
  • 4.6 from 4,653 reviews

Cons

  • Manufacturer field says VELCRO Brand
  • Messy if you mix too much
  • Small 15 ml tubes

Best for: Household breaks in ceramic, wood or metal where you can support the joint briefly.

Less suitable: A mitre that has to grab in seconds, or a rear-view mirror.

Araldite Standard ARA-400001

Rank 7

Araldite Standard ARA-400001

Our view

Araldite Standard ARA-400001 is the slow epoxy in this set, at about £7.47 with 4.6 from 3,319 reviews. The bullets say you can sand and paint after 14 hours, the full-cure field says 14 hours, and the listing is water resistant from −30°C to 65°C. Reviewers who clamp or tape the joint rate the cured bond highly, and they also say you still have to hold it while it sets. The brand cell says Best Price Square and the manufacturer cell says Velcro Ltd. The title says 15 ml, the included line says 2 × 15 ml, and the volume lines disagree with each other. Reviews include a failed nylon cog and a failed acrylic, even where the bullets say most plastics. It fits a repair you can leave overnight and then sand, not a job you must handle within minutes.

Pros

  • 4.6 from 3,319 reviews
  • 14 hour sand and paint claim
  • Water resistant on the listing

Cons

  • Brand and manufacturer fields do not match
  • Pack size lines disagree
  • Slow, and weak on some plastics in reviews

Best for: A repair you can tape overnight and then sand.

Less suitable: A job that must be handled in minutes, or nylon.

J-B Weld Original 50165, pack of 2

Rank 8

J-B Weld Original 50165, pack of 2

Our view

J-B Weld Original 50165 is sold here as two dark grey 25 ml syringes at about £9.10, with 4.6 from 1,430 reviews. The listing states 5,020 PSI and names metals, stone, concrete and fibreglass, while the water-resistance field says not water resistant. Reviews often describe a hard result after an overnight or 24 hour wait, including use as a filler on a mower deck once the mix had set. The same texts call it runny, and some say it ran straight through a hole. A cold room is named as a reason a mix failed to cure. The full-cure cell prints 1,524 hours and the heat line says 550 with no unit, so neither figure is a specification you can follow. Use the leaflet in the box. Choose it for a small metal repair you can leave overnight in a warm room, not for an exhaust or a hole that must stay filled while the mix is wet.

Pros

  • Two syringes for about £9.10
  • 5,020 PSI on the listing
  • 4.6 from 1,430 reviews

Cons

  • Cure cell says 1,524 hours
  • Heat figure has no unit
  • Runny in reviews

Best for: Small metal repairs you can leave overnight in a warm room.

Less suitable: An exhaust, a cold garage, or a hole that must not run.

Common questions

How long does the listing say this takes to cure?

The full-cure field says 1,524 hours. Reviews instead describe an overnight or 24 hour wait, and a failure to cure in a cold room. Use the leaflet in the box rather than that cell.

Is it waterproof?

The water-resistance field says not water resistant. The bullets name metals and a high-temperature claim. They do not give a waterproof test.

Will it fill a hole in metal?

The viscosity field says low. Reviews say the mix is runny and ran straight through a hole. Some still used it as a filler on a mower deck after it had set.

5-minute epoxy, 250 ml bottles

Rank 9

5-minute epoxy, 250 ml bottles

∼£23

Our view

This 250 ml kit is two clear bottles at about £22.89, with 4.6 from 108 reviews and 21 texts in the file. The listing gives about 5 minutes of working time and full strength in 24 hours, and the pack includes gloves, a stirring rod and a stirring plate. Reviewers who prefer bottles say that avoids a twin nozzle. Other reviews say the mix did not bond or did not set on their job. The brand field is empty, and both the manufacturer and the model read WAN2TLK. Waterproof appears in the bullets, not as an immersion result from this comparison. It is the volume buy when you accept an unnamed pack, and a weak first purchase when a named 15 ml epoxy on the same table has thousands of reviews.

Pros

  • 250 ml
  • Bottles rather than a twin nozzle
  • Gloves and a mixing plate included

Cons

  • No brand field
  • Some reviews say it did not bond
  • About £22.89

Best for: A large clear repair when you accept an unbranded pack.

Less suitable: A first household tube, where a named 15 ml pack has thousands of reviews.

Common questions

Who makes this 250 ml kit?

The brand field is empty. Manufacturer and model both read WAN2TLK. The part number field says 5 minute epoxy.

Is the waterproof line a test?

Waterproof appears in the bullets and in special features. There is no separate water-resistance level cell. This comparison did not immerse a joint.

Do the bottles avoid a syringe nozzle?

The pack is two bottles, with gloves, a stirring rod and a stirring plate. Reviews say that is easier than a syringe. Other reviews say the mix did not bond or did not set on their job.

J-B Weld PlasticBonder 50139

Rank 10

J-B Weld PlasticBonder 50139

Our view

J-B Weld PlasticBonder 50139 is a black 25 ml syringe at about £7.84, with 4.5 from 17,667 reviews, the largest count in this set. The listing names plastics, composites, coated metals and concrete, a 3,770 PSI figure, a 15 minute set, sanding at 20 minutes, and a water-resistant field. One review still found a car trim only marginally compatible, so the word plastics on the bullet is not every polymer. Several reviews describe a plunger that sticks and then dumps most of the syringe. The full-cure cell repeats 15 minutes, while one reviewer found the mix still soft at 20 minutes and hard the next day. The US maker page in the notes says a 6 minute set and a 1 hour cure, so the UK listing and that page do not share one clock. It suits a hard plastic clip or a small composite repair, and it is the wrong pack for a clear mend or an instant grab.

Pros

  • 4.5 from 17,667 reviews
  • Named for plastics and gap filling
  • Water resistant on the listing

Cons

  • Full-cure cell is 15 minutes
  • Plunger can dump the syringe
  • Not every plastic in the reviews

Best for: Hard plastic clips, car trim and small composite repairs.

Less suitable: An instant grab, or a clear invisible mend.

Common questions

Will PlasticBonder stick plastic to plastic?

The bullets say it is for plastic-to-plastic bonding and for thermoset plastics, carbon fibre composites, thermoplastics, coated metals and concrete. One review still found a car trim only marginally compatible.

How long before you can sand it?

The bullets say a set time of 15 minutes and a sand time of 20 minutes. The full-cure field also says 15 minutes. One review found it still soft at 20 minutes and hard the next day.

Is the syringe easy to dispense?

Included is a 25 ml syringe and a stir stick. Several reviews describe a stuck plunger that then dumps most of the pack.

Limino 5-minute epoxy, 100 ml

Rank 11

Limino 5-minute epoxy, 100 ml

∼£10

Our view

Limino LF165 is two clear 50 ml syringes at about £9.98, with 4.4 from 124 reviews. A bullet adds a silicone cup, four stirrers and two pairs of gloves, while the included-components field says only epoxy glue. The listing says a 5 minute set, a functional cure in 1 hour and a full cure in 24 hours, with a waterproof field and a range of −10°C to 90°C. Several reviewers report that clock when the two parts stay even. Others say the nozzle blocked, or that the bond did not set. A safety claim appears only as a bullet, and this page does not repeat it as a fact. Waterproof here is a listing word, not an immersion test. It is a first syringe kit for ceramics, wood and small plastic breaks if you wipe the tip after each use.

Pros

  • Cup, sticks and gloves in the bullet
  • Waterproof field on the listing
  • −10°C to 90°C on the bullet

Cons

  • Nozzle blocks
  • Some bonds did not set
  • Safety line is only a bullet

Best for: A first syringe kit for ceramics, wood and small plastic breaks.

Less suitable: A long series of tiny jobs from one nozzle.

The water-resistance field says waterproof. This comparison did not run an immersion test. The bullet also says the mix stays stable from −10°C to 90°C.

How do you stop the nozzle blocking?

Reviews say to wipe the nozzle after use or it will not reopen, and to avoid pushing resin and hardener so they meet in the tip.

DecorRom 5-minute epoxy, 100 ml

∼£10

Our view

DecorRom’s clear 100 ml syringe is about £9.88, with 4.3 from 202 reviews. The bullets give 5 minutes of working time, functional strength in 1 hour and full strength in 24 hours, a water-resistant field, and heat up to 300°F, about 149°C. Reviewers who got an even mix report a strong bond. The repeated complaint is the twin nozzle: the hardener side is tighter, so equal amounts are hard to push, and the caps are easy to swap. Some reviews say the mix was usable for well under 5 minutes and that it runs. One bullet also names a different clear epoxy brand on this DecorRom pack, which is a listing error. It is a volume syringe for a clear job you will use soon after opening, and a poor match if you want to open a little at a time for months.

Pros

  • 100 ml with gloves and a cup
  • Water resistant on the listing
  • Stated 5 minute working time

Cons

  • Unequal dispense in reviews
  • Nozzle blocks
  • One bullet names another brand

Best for: A clear repair where you will use a lot of epoxy soon after opening.

Less suitable: A pack you want to open a little at a time for months.

Common questions

Does 5 minute mean the joint is strong in 5 minutes?

The bullets say 5 minutes of working time, functional strength in 1 hour and full bond strength in 24 hours. Some reviews say the mix was usable for well under 5 minutes.

Does the syringe dispense equal amounts?

The listing calls it a 1:1 syringe. Reviews say the hardener nozzle is tighter, so equal amounts are hard to push, and the caps are easy to swap.

What heat does the listing claim?

The bullet says up to 300°F, about 149°C, and the water-resistance field says water resistant.

How we compared

Twelve amazon.co.uk two-part adhesive listings were scored on a 0–100 scale on 20 October 2026. Amazon evidence is 30 points: the star rating divided by 5, times 24, plus up to 6 points for the review count, and that block is capped at 30. Listing fit is 35 points and starts at 35. The largest single deduction is 6 points, for a marketplace brand, an unreadable cure cell, or a kit size that disagrees with itself. Smaller deductions are 4, 3 or 2 points, and listing fit cannot fall below 0. Review outcome is 20 points. It starts at 16, is capped at 20, and cannot fall below 0. A deduction there is 3 points when several reviews say it did not cure, or 2 points for a clogged nozzle or a file under 15 short texts. Value is 15 points. The highest score is the top pick. The next score is the best value. A water-resistant field is not an immersion rating. A full-cure cell that repeats the set time, or that prints 1,524 hours or 1.2E+2 minutes, is a listing defect. This is not a laboratory test.

1

Amazon evidence

30%

Star rating divided by 5, times 24, plus up to 6 points when the review count is large. The block is capped at 30. A 4.8 from 50 reviews does not outrank a large UK file.

2

Listing fit

35%

Starts at 35. The largest single deduction is 6 points, for a marketplace brand, an unreadable cure cell, or a title and bullet that disagree on kit size. Smaller deductions are 4, 3 or 2. The block cannot fall below 0.

3

Review outcome

20%

Starts at 16 and is capped at 20. Add 2 when several reviews name a successful job. Deduct 3 when several say it did not cure or bond, and 2 for a clogged nozzle or fewer than 15 short texts. The block cannot fall below 0.

4

Value

15%

Out of 15. A named small pack at a typical shelf price scores 13 or 14. A specialist 25 ml syringe scores 12. A dearer duplicate of a clearer listing scores 10. An unbranded 250 ml kit scores 11. A size conflict blocks extra value.

Two-part adhesive buying guide

Match chemistry, gap and a cure clock you can follow. A 5 minute line is working time. A water-resistant field is not an immersion test, and a cure cell in scientific notation is a listing defect.

What is two-part adhesive?

A two-part adhesive cures only when two components meet. The usual chemistries on a UK shelf are an epoxy resin and hardener, a cyanoacrylate with an aerosol activator, or a two-part urethane for hard plastics. Buyers use them for mitres and trim, for ceramic, wood or metal, and for a plastic clip that a one-part glue has failed. Quality is a named chemistry, a cure clock you can follow, a pack that will dispense a second time, and reviews that name a real joint.

Best for

  • Tight mitres and trim you can align before the faces touch
  • Ceramic, wood or light metal you can support while epoxy cures

Not ideal for

  • Polyethylene, polypropylene, PTFE, or a hole a runny mix will leave
  • A load-bearing part, a fuel joint, or a cure time taken from a broken listing cell

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

Reading 5 minutes as full strength

On the clear epoxies, 5 minutes is working time. The same bullets say about 1 hour to a functional cure and 24 hours to full strength. A cell that repeats the set time, prints 1,524 hours, or shows 1.2E+2 minutes is a listing defect. Use the leaflet.

  2. 2

The wrong gap or the wrong plastic

A mitre activator is specified to 0.2 mm and will not slide after contact. A runny mix leaves a vertical hole. Polyethylene, polypropylene and PTFE are the usual exclusions, and nylon and acrylic fail in some reviews even where a bullet says most plastics.

  3. 3

A wet nozzle, or a water word treated as a test

Syringes clog, stick and dispense unequal amounts. An activator bottle goes solid if it is not resealed. Water resistant and waterproof on these listings are words, not an immersion result. The Mitre Fast water fields do not agree with each other.

What to weigh up

Chemistry, gap and clock

High

Activator kits grab in about 10 seconds and are specified to 0.2 mm. Epoxy gives minutes of working time, or about 14 hours before you sand a standard pack. A rapid trade sheet may say about 2 hours at 23°C or above 10 MPa in about 4 hours, so the leaflet in the box wins. Hard plastic trim often needs a urethane bonder. The UK PlasticBonder listing and the US page do not share one clock. Wood, ceramic, glass and many metals are the normal list.

Second use and evidence

High

Twin tubes dose small amounts. Syringes clog and push unequal volumes. A title that says 100 g and a bullet that still says 50 g is a description problem, not extra value. A named maker and a large amazon.co.uk review count beat the lowest price per millilitre. On 20 October 2026 the small branded packs in this set sit around £7.50 to £8.50 and the 250 ml unbranded kit is £22.89. A marketplace brand field, an empty brand, and a manufacturer cell that names another company are deducted.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Mitres and trim

You are fitting skirting, architrave or uPVC trim and you can align the joint before it grabs. Everbuild Mitre Fast MITRE1IND is the top pick: 50 g plus 200 ml at about £7.50, 4.7 from 4,731 reviews, a 10 second bond and a 0.2 mm gap. It will not slide after contact, and the listing says it is not water resistant.

Household breaks

You are mending ceramic, wood or light metal and you can mix equal parts and support the joint. Araldite Rapid ARA-400005 is the best value: two 15 ml tubes at about £7.85, 4.6 from 4,653 reviews, water resistant on the listing, sand or paint after 2 hours. It is not a 10 second mitre grab. The manufacturer field says VELCRO Brand.

Hard plastics

You are repairing a hard plastic clip, car trim or a small composite, and you will check the plastic type first. J-B Weld PlasticBonder is a black 25 ml syringe at about £7.84, 4.5 from 17,667 reviews, with a 15 minute set on the listing. The full-cure cell repeats 15 minutes, the plunger can dump the syringe, and it is not a clear mend.

Common questions about two-part adhesives

Which two-part adhesive is the top pick in 2026?
The top pick is Everbuild Mitre Fast MITRE1IND, a 50 g adhesive and 200 ml activator at about £7.50. On amazon.co.uk it is 4.7 from 4,731 reviews, the highest score in this set. The listing says it bonds within 10 seconds on mitre gaps up to 0.2 mm. Once the faces touch you cannot slide them. The listing says it is not water resistant, and reviews repeat a nozzle that clogs. This score is not a laboratory test.
How much does two-part adhesive cost?
On amazon.co.uk on 20 October 2026 the twelve packs run from about £7.47 to about £22.89. Named small packs sit around £7.50 to £8.50: Mitre Fast 50 g at about £7.50, Araldite Standard at about £7.47, PlasticBonder at about £7.84 and Araldite Rapid at about £7.85. Syringes sit nearer £9 to £10. The 250 ml unbranded kit is about £22.89. One household break usually fits a tube pack around £7 to £8. These are shelf prices in this set, not a national survey.
Should you buy epoxy or an activator kit?
Use an activator kit when a tight mitre must grab in about 10 seconds and you can align it before contact. It will not slide afterwards, and the stated gap is 0.2 mm. Use epoxy when you need minutes of working time, or an overnight wait on a standard pack, for ceramic, wood or metal you can support. Hard plastic trim often needs a urethane bonder. Stars do not choose the chemistry.
Is a two-part adhesive waterproof?
A water-resistant or waterproof field is a listing word, not an immersion rating. This comparison did not immerse a joint. The 50 g Mitre Fast listing says not water resistant, while two other Mitre Fast listings say water resistant. The maker sheet used here does not add a waterproof test, so those fields stay separate. J-B Weld Original’s listing also says not water resistant. None of these rows is a wet-room seal.
How long does two-part adhesive take to cure?
The clock depends on the chemistry, and the Amazon cell is not always that clock. A 5 minute line on the clear epoxies is working time, then about 1 hour to a functional cure and 24 hours to full strength. Mitre Fast bonds in about 10 seconds. The clearer Araldite Rapid listing says 2 hours. Araldite Standard says 14 hours before you sand and paint. If the cell says 1,524 hours or 1.2E+2 minutes, use the leaflet.
Will two-part adhesive stick plastic?
Some packs will, and not every plastic. PlasticBonder is named for plastics, composites, coated metals and concrete. One review still found a car trim only marginally compatible. Household epoxy bullets often say most plastics, and reviews include failures on nylon and acrylic. Polyethylene, polypropylene and PTFE are the usual exclusions. Start from the plastic type. A grey metal-filled epoxy is a different job, covered in the metal adhesive comparison.
What if two-part adhesive bonds your skin?
Cyanoacrylate bonds skin and eyes in seconds. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde advice is warm soapy water, then roll the skin apart with a blunt edge. Do not pull, and do not wipe liquid cyanoacrylate with cotton wool. Eyes need medical help. Uncured epoxy and hardeners can sensitise skin. Wear gloves, and do not wash resin off with solvent. A spreading rash needs medical advice. Keep the activator aerosol away from ignition.
When should a professional take over?
Call a professional for a load-bearing part, a fuel line or any pressurised joint. Glue in an eye, or a spreading rash, needs medical help rather than another attempt. Daily workshop use of these resins needs a COSHH assessment. A safety data sheet supports that assessment. It is not the assessment. A 0.2 mm mitre adhesive will not fill a wide hole, and a cure cell with no usable unit is not a specification.

Our verdict

The top pick is Everbuild Mitre Fast MITRE1IND at about £7.50: 50 g of adhesive and 200 ml of activator, 4.7 from 4,731 amazon.co.uk reviews, and a 10 second bond on mitre gaps up to 0.2 mm. Once the faces touch you cannot slide them, the nozzle clogs in reviews, and the listing says the joint is not water resistant. The best value is Araldite Rapid ARA-400005 at about £7.85, two 15 ml tubes, 4.6 from 4,653 reviews, water resistant on the listing, with a 2 hour full-cure field. It is the household epoxy you can support briefly, not a mitre that must grab in seconds. A 4.8 from 50 reviews is not the top pick, and the unbranded 250 ml kit is not the best value.
