PVC inflatable repair adhesive

Updated: 23 October 2026

The paddling pool is flat, the air bed has hissed out, or a PVC dinghy has a tear you noticed at the slipway. PVC inflatable repair adhesive can close a small hole in the right fabric. It will not if the face is dirty, the bottle is cold, you inflate too soon, the curative is missing, the boat is Hypalon, or the pond liner is still wet. Pipe fittings go back to [PVC pipe cement or inflatable glue](/hub/fillers-adhesives-and-sprays/pvc-adhesive/sub/pvc-adhesive-pipe-or-inflatable). Prices from 19 October 2026, and the full table, are on the [PVC adhesive comparison](/hub/fillers-adhesives-and-sprays/pvc-adhesive). We did not run a pressure test. Air bed and paddling pool

Drain the pool or deflate the bed, and get the hole onto a clean, dry face. Warm a cold bottle. One GleamGlee repair only stuck after the glue reached room temperature. Cut the patch larger than the hole, round the corners, and press from the centre. GleamGlee is £8.99 for 80 ml, 4.2 from 177 reviews, mostly United Kingdom. Pools and pinholes held for some buyers. Several UK air beds still leaked, and the patches are called thin. The listing states no cure in hours, so leave it uninflated. EPN is £19.99, about 225 ml, with 15 patches and 24 hours before water. Much of the 4.6 from 43 is arrow fletching or a 35 g bottle. KKwoter says 48 hours, against an item weight of 50 g for a 2 × 60 ml title. A seam or a failed valve is often not a patch.

PVC boat tube

A hole too large for a toy patch, on PVC boat fabric, is Polymarine’s job here. The 250 ml two-part is £29.75 and 4.4 from 103 reviews, including a kayak tear and a dinghy patch that held. The maker’s method is a 25:1 mix, primer 2903, two thin coats and a contact bond. Do not slide the patch once the faces meet. No pressure for at least six hours, full cure at 48 hours, maximum strength at seven days, and no naked flame. Humid air can bloom the film. One order had no curative. The listing says Waterproof and also Not water resistant, so follow the dry method. A rubber tender was the wrong fabric in one UK review. Hypalon takes a different adhesive. Over 75 mm in any direction, the maker wants an inside patch too. Inflatable Repairs uses 50 mm for its own cut.

Pond film is a different job

Oase UniFix+ says PVC and is still the wrong tin for an air bed. It is £27.83 for 290 ml, 4.3 from 411 reviews, for small areas of EPDM, rubber or PVC film, processed dry and above the water. A French review said a finger pressed under water did not hold. The field says 24 hours and the bullet says 24–48 hours. Do not collapse those into one clock. The material field says PVA, which contradicts the film bullets, so do not repeat PVA as the chemistry. The listing warns of an organotin that may cause an allergic reaction. UK reviews say the nozzle was missing and that the cartridge needs a mastic gun. It is for small patches, not a whole liner seam and not a solvent-welded pipe.

When to stop

Stop if the split is a seam or a valve and the inflatable’s maker says those are not patch repairs. Stop for a liferaft, or if you cannot fit the inside patch a tear over 75 mm needs. Stop if you cannot dry the pond film. Stop if the “inflatable” is actually a rigid fitting. That is a solvent-cement question. A 5.0 from three reviews, with no described repair, is not a reason to skip that stop.

Common questions

How do I patch an air bed or paddling pool with PVC adhesive?
Dry the skin, warm a cold bottle, and use a patch larger than the hole from a kit sold for vinyl or PVC inflatables. GleamGlee at £8.99 is the large UK review file in this set. Press the air out with the squeegee and leave the item uninflated. EPN states 24 hours. KKwoter states 48 hours.
How long before I inflate or refill?
Use the clock on your tin. EPN and Allony say 24 hours. KKwoter says 48 hours, and one unicorn repair was left about 36 hours. GleamGlee and the XINGHUO inflatable bottle do not print hours. Polymarine’s maker sheet says no pressure for at least six hours, full cure at 48 hours and maximum strength at seven days.
When is a two-part boat adhesive the right kit?
When the fabric is PVC, the hole is in a boat tube, and a toy patch will not cover it. Polymarine at £29.75 is that tin here, mixed 25:1, with primer 2903. Skip it for a paddling-pool pinhole, for Hypalon, and if the hardener is missing.
What if the curative is missing?
You cannot use a two-part adhesive as a two-part repair. One Polymarine order arrived without hardener. The rest of the tin does not become a permanent boat weld. The maker treats one-part use as a temporary repair only. Check the box before you are at the water.
Is my boat PVC or Hypalon?
PVC inflatables are the fabric Polymarine’s listing and the maker’s PVC guide are for. Hypalon, and a rubber tender, are the wrong fabric. One UK review said exactly that. If you cannot tell, do not guess with a £29.75 tin. A PVC patch kit will not convert Hypalon either.
Will pond-liner adhesive fix an air bed?
No. Oase is for dry pond film, EPDM or rubber, in small areas, at £27.83. An air bed wants a flexible patch kit and a squeegee, left uninflated. PVC on the Oase label does not make it an inflatable glue.
