Top pick: SLAJMNZH ultrasonic, 180 g Best value: KOKMEYA bird scare rods, 6-pack – About £6.29 for six hanging rods, 3.7 from 329 reviews, the cheapest moving flash with a few hundred reviews. Updated October 2026.

A bird deterrent is a non-lethal device for stopping wild birds landing, roosting, or feeding where you do not want them. In the UK that is often pigeons on a balcony, fence, or roof edge, gulls near the coast, or birds on new seed and fruit. A perch strip only protects the surface you cover, including a short return the birds can still use. A moving visual only works while the bird still treats it as new, so you move it. On a terrace, skip anything that flashes into a neighbour's windows. Before you fix anything, look for a nest in use. Wild birds, their eggs, and nests being built or in use are protected, and damaging that nest is an offence. Scaring and physical barriers do not need a licence. How to match the device to the job is in the [bird deterrent buying guide](/hub/pest-control/bird-deterrent/sub/bird-deterrent-buying-guide). UK guidance does not support sound claimed above 20 kHz as a bird method.

The best Bird deterrents in detail

SLAJMNZH ultrasonic, 180 g

Rank 1

SLAJMNZH ultrasonic, 180 g

∼£22

Our view

SLAJMNZH's model ZX4D2BZZ525 is about £21.99, 180 g, and 5.0 from two reviews, with 8–35 kHz in the title. The title also prints IP54, while the weather field on the listing is blank, so the waterproof line is a title claim rather than a completed spec. One reviewer put a unit on each side of a windowsill facing a large tree and said coverage was not complete. That note does not name pigeons, a UK town, or a measured range. The rank is Pet & Wild Animal Control. It is the same class of claim as the other two boxes, cheaper than the two-pack, and the evidence is no stronger. Leave it off a bird shortlist.

Pros

  • About £21.99 and 180 g, lighter to site than the two-pack
  • Solar and battery power claimed
  • A windowsill review at least describes a real placement

Cons

  • 5.0 from two reviews
  • That review says coverage was not complete
  • Title says IP54; the weather field on the listing is blank
  • Claimed band includes 8 kHz, which people can hear

Best for: You are checking a second about £21.99 ultrasonic listing against the one-review model of the same brand.

Less suitable: You want pigeons off a rail or seed protected on a lawn.

Common questions

Is IP54 a completed specification?

IP54 is in the title. The weather field on the listing is blank, so treat it as a title claim rather than a filled spec row.

Is the frequency claim silent to people?

The title claims 8–35 kHz. UK guidance treats 8 kHz as audible. Natural Resources Wales says ultrasound can disturb bats.

SLAJMNZH ultrasonic two-pack

Rank 2

SLAJMNZH ultrasonic two-pack

∼£33

Our view

SLAJMNZH's two-pack, model DB0365&0709, is about £32.99, 210 g, with solar and battery power and a claimed band of about 8–35 kHz. The amazon.co.uk line is 5.0 from two reviews, and the target-species field says bat. All UK bats are protected, so this listing is not a device for clearing a roost. One balcony note said small birds on flowerpots eased after about a week; that is the only written result in the reviews. Defra's 2021 annex reported no effect from one ultrasonic device on feral pigeons and states that most birds do not hear above 20 kHz. Eight kilohertz is audible to people. The rank sits in Pet & Wild Animal Control, not Bird Control. Two perfect scores are why it is in this comparison, and why it scores 20/100.

Pros

  • Two wireless units for about £32.99
  • Solar and battery power on the listing
  • One balcony note reported fewer small birds on flowerpots after about a week

Cons

  • 5.0 from only two reviews
  • Target-species field says bat
  • Claimed 8–35 kHz starts in the range people can hear
  • Ranked in Pet & Wild Animal Control, not Bird Control

Best for: You are comparing how thin a five-star ultrasonic file is, and you will not aim it at a bat roost.

Less suitable: You want a pigeon method for a rail, a fence, or a lawn.

Common questions

Why does the target field say bat?

The listing's target-species field says bat. All UK bats are protected. Do not use this unit to clear a roost. Natural Resources Wales says ultrasound can disturb bats.

Is the frequency claim silent to people?

The listing claims about 8–35 kHz. UK guidance treats 8 kHz as audible and does not treat ultrasound as a method for birds.

SLAJMNZH ultrasonic, IP54 claim

Rank 3

SLAJMNZH ultrasonic, IP54 claim

∼£22

Our view

This SLAJMNZH unit, model DB0520#0817, is about £21.99 and claims about 8–35 kHz plus an IP54 rating. The star line is 5.0 from one review, and the listing has no written comment attached to that star, so you cannot see what was praised. The weight field prints 0.25 g, which is not a believable mass for the unit in the listing photos, so ignore it for mounting. The same hearing point applies: most birds are not thought to hear above 20 kHz, and ultrasound can disturb bats. A single five-star rating is why the score is 24/100, which keeps it off the shortlist. It is a thin listing to set beside the rods and the fence strips, and a poor default for pigeons on a rail.

Pros

  • About £21.99 with solar and battery power claimed
  • IP54 printed on the listing
  • A stated frequency band, so you can compare it with the 20 kHz hearing point

Cons

  • 5.0 from a single review, with no written comment in the listing
  • Weight field says 0.25 g, which is not a usable mass
  • 8 kHz at the bottom of the claim is audible to people
  • Ultrasound can disturb bats, and UK guidance does not treat it as a bird method

Best for: You want to see what a one-review ultrasonic listing looks like before you spend more.

Less suitable: You want a perch cover or a moving scarer with hundreds of reviews.

Natural Resources Wales says ultrasound can disturb bats. Do not mount it near a known roost.

EarlyGrow fence spikes, 10-pack

Rank 4

EarlyGrow fence spikes, 10-pack

Our view

EarlyGrow's ten-pack is about £6.95 on amazon.co.uk, 4.3 from 1,980 reviews, and rank 1 in Bird Control on the listing. Malton Plastics makes the strips in the UK. Each piece is 50 cm by 4.5 cm with 1.8 cm spikes, and the listing says you can slit one strip into three narrower lengths. Screws are not in the box, so reviewers buy their own, and at least one found the plastic shifting while they tried to place it. The pack includes two anti-climb warning signs. Most of the written praise is about cats and foxes on a timber fence, with one later note that an animal still got round the run, and at least one buyer used the strips against bird mess. They only protect the timber you actually cover, including the short return. This is the top pick when the job is a fence rail.

Pros

  • Ten 50 cm strips for about £6.95, 4.3 from 1,980 reviews
  • Made in the UK by Malton Plastics, described as UV and frost resistant
  • Two anti-climb warning signs in the ten-pack
  • Strips can be cut narrower for a tight or curved rail
  • Rank 1 in Bird Control on the amazon.co.uk listing

Cons

  • Screws are not in the box
  • Strips can shift while you are fixing them
  • A later review says an animal still got round the run
  • A plastic fence strip, not a stainless spike for a masonry ledge

Best for: You can screw a full run, including the short return, onto a timber fence that birds, cats, or foxes use.

Less suitable: You need to protect a lawn, a vegetable bed, or a wide stone ledge.

The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 protects an active nest. Proofing must not damage a nest that is in use.

Hausse horned owl decoy

Rank 5

Hausse horned owl decoy

∼£13

Our view

Hausse's plastic horned owl is about 13.6 inches high and 298 g, at about £13.45 with 4.0 from 2,417 reviews. A tab in the base is there so you can add sand, which is a firmer sit than The Big Cheese reviews describe. One buyer said it looked convincing and worked until pigeons and magpies sat with it, and that moving it was what restored the effect. Another said a lawn that had been ripped up each morning stayed clear for three nights. Most of the written reviews behind this star line are not from the UK, so the 4.0 is a large count with a thin UK signal. Nothing in the listing turns in the wind. It is a shape you relocate on a short cycle, and a weak choice if it will stand on one post all season.

Pros

  • About £13.45 with 4.0 from 2,417 reviews
  • Sand-fill tab in the base
  • About 13.6 inches of moulded plastic
  • A buyer kept a damaged lawn clear for three nights

Cons

  • Pigeons and magpies sat with it once the shape was familiar
  • The head does not turn in the wind
  • Most written reviews are not from the UK

Best for: You will move a still decoy every few days and you accept a mostly non-UK review file.

Less suitable: You want wind-action, a UK-heavy review sample, or a covered fence rail.

Common questions

Does the head turn in the wind?

No. The listing is a still plastic sculpture. A sand-fill tab in the base is for weight, not for rotation.

etermeish wind spinner

Rank 6

etermeish wind spinner

∼£30

Our view

The etermeish spinner, model QNQ-001, is about £29.99, 520 g, and 4.0 from 124 reviews. The listing material is aluminium. UK reviews say the blades and the centre spinner are plastic and the base is metal, so the specification and the opened parcel do not match. A buyer near vegetable beds said it spins in a light wind and pigeons spent less time there. Another used the supplied screws and wall plugs and fitted it for cherry trees. A boat-cabin fitting had two gulls beside it within about five minutes, and a Glasgow reviewer found the local pigeons stubborn. You are paying near kite money for one visual, without a 4 m pole. It can sit over a bed you are willing to move, and it does not take the place of a strip on a rail.

Pros

  • Spins in a light wind, according to reviewers
  • 4.0 from 124 reviews at about £29.99
  • Screws and wall plugs mentioned in a fitting review
  • One buyer reported less pigeon time on a vegetable bed

Cons

  • Listing says aluminium; UK reviews say plastic blades and a plastic centre
  • Gulls settled beside it within about five minutes on a boat
  • Results vary, including stubborn pigeons in a Glasgow review
  • One unit at a price close to a 4 m kite

Best for: You can mount one spinner over a bed or a tree and then move it when the birds settle.

Less suitable: You need a covered rail, a confirmed all-metal blade, or a 4 m kite's sweep.

KOKMEYA bird scare rods, 6-pack

Rank 7

KOKMEYA bird scare rods, 6-pack

Our view

KOKMEYA's six hanging rods are about £6.29, about 11.6 inches (29 cm) long, in PS plastic with a silver coating. The amazon.co.uk line is 3.7 from 329 reviews, and the score is 51/100, the best value mark in this comparison. Each rod has a top loop for an eave, a branch, or a rail. A London balcony buyer said pigeons turned away once the rods were up. Other reviewers on balconies and beside feeders say pigeons, crows, and magpies carried on, and that the rods look decorative and feel short. They flash when sun and wind reach them, so a visit at dawn can ignore them. At this price they are a cheap moving flash you can shift, and a weak substitute for a strip on the rail the birds are standing on.

Pros

  • Six rods for about £6.29, 3.7 from 329 reviews
  • Top loop, so they hang without screws
  • A London balcony review reported pigeons diverting
  • Listed as thickened PS plastic with a silver coating

Cons

  • Other balcony and feeder reviews say pigeons, crows, and magpies stayed
  • Reviewers call them short and more decorative than effective
  • They need sun and wind, so dawn visits can ignore them

Best for: You want a low-cost hanging flash on a balcony or a branch, and you will move the rods.

Less suitable: You need the fence cap itself denied, or a scarer that works in the dark before sunrise.

The Big Cheese wind-action owl

Rank 8

The Big Cheese wind-action owl

∼£13

Our view

The Big Cheese wind-action owl, made by STV as model STV965, is about £12.99 with 3.5 from 3,903 amazon.co.uk reviews, the largest sample in this comparison. The listing describes a rotating head and reflective eyes, and calls it a best-selling decoy. On reseeded lawns the reviews disagree: one buyer had pigeons beside it within about 10 minutes and said the head barely turned, another had pigeons in within an hour, and another said it was the first thing that stopped birds on new grass. It is light enough to blow off a table before the head moves, and reviewers mention no mounting bracket, so they weigh it down or sit it on a pole. Seagulls fed next door, and dirty top-floor windows, both appear in the reviews, with mixed results. The 3.5 is a split record across thousands of ratings. It earns a place where wind actually turns the head and you still move it.

Pros

  • About £12.99 with 3.5 from 3,903 reviews
  • Wind-turned head rather than a fixed statue
  • Some buyers report it holding birds off new grass seed
  • Light enough to reposition around a garden

Cons

  • Pigeons landed beside it within about 10 minutes to an hour in several reviews
  • Head barely turns in light wind for some buyers
  • Too light for a ledge, and reviewers found no mounting bracket
  • Other reseeded lawns were still stripped while it stood there

Best for: You have wind at head height and you will move a decoy rather than cover a rail.

Less suitable: You want a still ornament to stay put on a balcony ledge, or a fence strip.

Laptony hawk kite with 4 m pole

Rank 9

Laptony hawk kite with 4 m pole

∼£39

Our view

Laptony's hawk kite includes a 4 m telescopic pole and a nylon kite at about £38.59, 3.4 from 1,075 reviews, and 780 g on the listing. Assembly is often called straightforward, and the kite does fly when there is a breeze. A factory buyer put one in each building and said the pigeons stayed off; a garden that had gulls each year reported a better result after the string was shortened. The cord wrapping the pole shows up within about a day in one review, the anchoring instructions are called incomplete, and another buyer said pigeons ignored it after three or four days. Garden birds carried on once the breeze dropped. It needs open swing, which a small terrace does not give you. Of the two 4 m kites here, this is the one with the large review sample.

Pros

  • 4 m telescopic pole and nylon kite at about £38.59
  • 3.4 from 1,075 reviews
  • Flies in a breeze, and some buyers report pigeons or gulls staying off
  • Lighter to reposition than a fixed proofing job, at 780 g

Cons

  • The line wraps the pole, including within the first day
  • Anchoring instructions are called incomplete
  • Pigeons ignored it after three or four days in one review
  • It needs wind and open swing

Best for: You have a lawn, allotment, or yard with wind and room for a 4 m pole, and you will check the line.

Less suitable: You have a balcony, a small garden, or a fence rail that needs covering.

SDZHDMO reflective pinwheels, 10-pack

Rank 10

SDZHDMO reflective pinwheels, 10-pack

∼£13

Our view

SDZHDMO's pack of ten polyester pinwheels is about £12.99, each about 40 × 20 cm, 310 g for the pack, and 3.2 from 538 amazon.co.uk reviews. They arrive flat. Buyers describe missing centre lugs, red end stoppers, and spindles that will not seat, and several returned the pack before it spun. Where every part was present, reviewers say they spin freely; one first pack kept pigeons off grass seed, and a later pack for the next strip of lawn arrived short of spokes. One reviewer called them decorative and not much of a deterrent to wood pigeons, and another said blackbirds ignored them. The flash that is supposed to work is also what can bother a neighbour's glass. They belong on a windy plot once you have checked the parts, and they are a frustrating buy if you wanted something that hangs ready-made.

Pros

  • Ten pinwheels for about £12.99, about 40 × 20 cm each
  • Free spin once the parts are complete
  • One complete pack kept pigeons off grass seed
  • 3.2 from 538 reviews, a real sample rather than one or two ratings

Cons

  • Flat-pack assembly, with missing lugs, stoppers, or spindles in several reviews
  • Wood pigeons and blackbirds ignored them for some buyers
  • A second pack was flimsier and short of spokes
  • Strong reflection can flash towards nearby windows

Best for: You have a windy lawn or allotment and you will check that all ten pinwheels are complete before you fit them.

Less suitable: You want a ready-hung scarer, or anything opposite a neighbour's glass.

flyonte hawk kite with 4 m pole

Rank 11

flyonte hawk kite with 4 m pole

∼£42

Our view

The flyonte hawk kite is the other 4 m kit, at about £41.99 with 3.2 from 49 reviews and 760 g. Bullets describe a glass-fibre pole, a 1.2 m wingspan, and flight in a light breeze; the material field says Glass, so the listing does not agree with itself. An allotment reviewer liked the swoop, the noise, and the shadow against pigeons. Other buyers report crows back after a day or two, pigeons that never left, a telescopic pole that came apart in a slight breeze, and a cord that wore through in about a week. One called it unsuitable for a smaller garden because of a constant whooshing. Forty-nine reviews is a thin file next to Laptony's 1,075 at a lower price. Take it only if you specifically want this kit and you will check the line.

Pros

  • 4 m pole and a stated 1.2 m wingspan
  • An allotment reviewer reported fewer pigeons while it was flying
  • Listed as needing only a light breeze

Cons

  • 3.2 from only 49 reviews, at about £41.99
  • Pole came apart in a slight breeze, and a cord wore through in about a week
  • Crows returned after a day or two, and some pigeons never left
  • Material field says Glass while the bullets say glass fibre

Best for: You already want this exact 4 m kit and you will inspect the pole and the line often.

Less suitable: You want the kite with the larger review sample, or any deterrent for a small garden.

How we compared

Eleven amazon.co.uk listings were scored on 20 October 2026 from the star line, the review count, whether the mechanism matches the job, what reviewers report, and the shelf price in GBP. There is no laboratory test. A spike length, a pole length, a frequency, or a weather code counts only when that listing prints it. The top pick is the highest score. Best value is the strongest price-to-job row that is not already the highest score. These scores do not show that any device clears every bird.

1

Amazon evidence

40%

The star line on amazon.co.uk, then the review count. A 5.0 from one or two ratings scores far below a 4.3 from 1,980 reviews or a 3.5 from 3,903.

2

Listing fit

30%

A mechanism with a physical or visual basis, a pack that agrees with itself, and a job that matches the title score up. An ultrasonic claim, a target-species field that says bat, or a material row that fights the reviews scores down.

3

Review outcome

20%

A result that matches the stated job scores up. Points come off for habituation within days, missing parts, a line that wraps the pole, or a strip an animal still walks around.

4

Bird deterrent buying guide

Start with the place the birds use, then the mechanism, then the review count. A strip covers a rail. A moving visual covers nothing until the bird still treats it as new, and you have to move it. A 4 m kite needs wind and swing. Ultrasound at a claimed 8–35 kHz is not a method UK guidance supports for birds. Shelf prices in this capture run from about £6.29 to about £41.99. The top pick is a plastic fence strip. The best value is a set of hanging rods. Nothing on this page is a lab test.

What is a bird deterrent?

A bird deterrent is a non-lethal device meant to stop wild birds landing, roosting, or feeding where you do not want them. In the UK that is usually pigeons on a balcony, fence, or roof, gulls near the coast, or birds on new seed and fruit. The useful check is whether the device matches the job. A spike strip only protects the surface it covers. A moving visual only works while the bird still treats it as new. Name the job before you name a brand.

Best for

  • A timber fence you can cover, including the short return
  • A balcony where a hanging flash is enough and a 4 m pole will not fit
  • A windy lawn or allotment where you will move a visual scarer

Not ideal for

  • A nest that is being built or is already in use
  • A small terrace that cannot give a kite room to swing
  • A claim that sound above 20 kHz will clear pigeons

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

Leaving a decoy in one place

GOV.UK and WML-GU01 say visual scarers should be moved. Reviews describe pigeons and magpies sitting with a still owl once the shape is familiar. Moving it is what restored the effect in one of those reviews.

  2. 2

    A 4 m kite in a small garden

Both hawk kites need wind and open swing. A balcony or a small terrace does not give you that. Reviews also describe the line wrapping the pole, a cord wearing through, and pigeons returning after a few days.

  3. 3

Covering the long rail and forgetting the return

A plastic spike strip only protects the timber you fit. Birds, cats, and foxes use the short return you leave bare. Screws are not in the EarlyGrow box, and the strips can shift while you fix them.

What to weigh up

Job and site

High

Start with the place the birds use, because that decides the mechanism. A fence, rail, or ledge is perch denial: you cover the surface they stand on, including the short return. A lawn, seed bed, allotment, or fruit tree is an area scare: movement, reflection, or a kite, and you move it when the birds settle. A 4 m kite needs wind and open swing. A balcony or a small terrace does not have that swing, and a flash that reaches a neighbour's glass is a poor fit there.

Evidence, habituation and hearing

High

Read the review count with the star line. A 5.0 from one or two ratings is a thin file. The highest score here is a 4.3 from 1,980 reviews. Amazon reviews also show habituation: pigeons beside a still owl, a kite ignored after a few days, and a head that does not turn in light wind. WML-GU01 says visual and audible scarers should be moved. GOV.UK says birds get used to one method, so vary it. Prefer a method with a physical or visual basis.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Timber fence or wall rail

Birds, cats, or foxes are using a timber fence, and you can screw a full run, including the short return. EarlyGrow fence spikes, 10-pack, at about £6.95 is the top pick: 4.3 from 1,980 reviews, made in the UK by Malton Plastics. Screws are not in the box. The strips only cover the timber you fit, and they are a weak match for a lawn or a wide stone ledge.

Balcony or terrace

You want pigeons off a rail or a balcony without a 4 m pole or a light show into the flat opposite. KOKMEYA bird scare rods, 6-pack, at about £6.29 is the best value: 3.7 from 329 reviews, with a top loop so they hang without screws. A London balcony review reported pigeons turning away. Other balcony reviews say the birds stayed, and dawn visits can ignore a flash that needs sun.

Lawn, seed bed, or allotment

You have wind and room to swing a pole, and you will check the line. The Laptony hawk kite with a 4 m pole is about £38.59, with 3.4 from 1,075 reviews, the larger kite sample on this shelf. Assembly is often called straightforward. The line can wrap the pole, and pigeons ignored one kite after three or four days. A small garden does not give you the swing.

Common questions about Bird deterrents

Which bird deterrent is the top pick in 2026?
The top pick is EarlyGrow fence spikes, 10-pack, at about £6.95. It is the highest score: ten 50 cm plastic strips with 1.8 cm spikes, 4.3 from 1,980 amazon.co.uk reviews, made in the UK by Malton Plastics. Screws are not in the box. The strips only protect the timber you cover, including the short return. The score is listing arithmetic from 20 October 2026, not a lab test.
Which bird deterrent is the best value?
The best value is KOKMEYA bird scare rods, 6-pack, at about £6.29, with 3.7 from 329 reviews. Each rod is about 29 cm, in PS plastic with a silver coating, and a top loop so you can hang it without screws. A London balcony review reported pigeons turning away. Other reviews say pigeons, crows, and magpies stayed. They need sun and wind, so a dawn visit can ignore them.
How much does a bird deterrent cost?
On the amazon.co.uk listings in this comparison, captured on 20 October 2026, entry is about £6 to £14: rods, plastic fence strips, pinwheels, and both owl decoys. Mid is about £22 to £33 for three ultrasonic boxes, with a wind spinner at about £29.99. The two hawk kites are about £39 to £42. These bands are this shelf, not a market-wide census. A stainless ledge-spike set seen the same day, from about £17.09, is not in this table.
What should I check before I buy a bird deterrent?
Name the job first. A fence rail needs the surface covered, including the short return. A lawn or allotment needs wind and something you can move. Read the review count, not a 5.0 from one or two ratings. Check the listing agrees with itself on material, weight, and weather rating. On a terrace, avoid a flash into a neighbour's windows and skip a 4 m pole. If the unit claims ultrasound, do not site it where bats may roost, and do not treat 8 kHz as silent.
Will birds get used to a scarer?
They often do if you leave one visual in one place. GOV.UK says birds get used to a single method, so vary it, and WML-GU01 says visual and audible scarers should be moved. Amazon reviews on the owl decoys describe pigeons and magpies sitting with a shape once it is familiar, and one hawk kite being ignored after three or four days. A fence strip does not rely on surprise. It only works on the timber you actually cover.
Do ultrasonic bird deterrents work, and are they silent?
UK guidance does not treat ultrasound as a bird method. Defra's 2021 annex reported no effect from one ultrasonic device on feral pigeons, and states that most birds do not hear above 20 kHz. These three listings claim about 8–35 kHz. Eight kilohertz is audible to people, and Natural Resources Wales says the devices can disturb bats. Each has one or two reviews, so a 5.0 here scores below a 4.3 from 1,980.
Can I fit a bird deterrent if there is a nest?
No. The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 protects a wild bird, its eggs, and a nest being built or in use. Damaging that nest to fit a strip is an offence. GOV.UK says scaring, blocking food, netting, and barriers do not need a licence. For England in 2026, GL41 includes the feral pigeon for public health, and GL42 includes the wood pigeon for serious damage to crops or livestock food after lawful alternatives. Scotland and Wales use their own licences. A Northern Ireland licence was not checked here.
When is a pigeon problem a different job?
Feral pigeons on a balcony, fence, or roof are a narrower job than seed on a lawn, and the wood pigeon is a different licence species from the feral pigeon. If the birds are at height, a nest would have to come off a building, only netting will close a gap, or droppings are inside a workplace, a retail scarer is the wrong tool. The RSPCA treats slack netting as a trap. For balcony and roof pigeons, see the pigeon deterrent comparison.

Our verdict

The top pick is EarlyGrow fence spikes, 10-pack, at about £6.95. It is the highest score: ten 50 cm plastic strips, 4.3 from 1,980 amazon.co.uk reviews, made in the UK by Malton Plastics. Screws are not in the box, and the strips only cover the timber you fit, including the short return. The best value is KOKMEYA bird scare rods, 6-pack, at about £6.29, with 3.7 from 329 reviews. They are a cheap hanging flash you can move, and several balcony reviews say pigeons stayed. These scores are listing arithmetic from 20 October 2026, not a lab test, and they do not show that any device clears every bird.
