A digital angle finder on amazon.co.uk is a hinged rule that reads the angle between two faces, a magnetic box that reads tilt, or a magnetic box that also throws a Class 2 laser line. You use the hinged rule on skirtings, shelves and alcoves. You use the magnetic box to set a saw blade relative to its table. Judge a listing by a stated accuracy that is separate from the screen step, a relative zero that works, a lock that holds, and a reading that agrees with a square. Trend's UK pages state 0.3° for the /200 rule and ±0.2° for the box. How the three types differ is set out in the [digital angle finder buying guide](/hub/measuring-and-marking-tools/digital-angle-finder/sub/digital-angle-finder-buying-guide).

The best Digital angle finders in detail

YUNSHU 200 mm protractor

Rank 1

YUNSHU 200 mm protractor

Our view

YUNSHU's 200 mm protractor is £9.49 and claims 0–360° inside and outside, ±0.5°, 0.05° resolution, zero, hold, a locking knob, and carbon fibre. amazon.co.uk shows 5.0 from four reviews. Two UK reviews on the listing, one of them only an emoji, and neither states a fault. One buyer used it for skirting and wooden frames and found the screen readable in a dim garage. The included CR2032 count disagrees on the same listing: a bullet says two cells, and the technical row says one. Four reviews cannot show how often the ±0.5° band is real. A perfect star line is not a reason to skip a square check, and it is not a pick in this comparison.

Pros

  • £9.49 with zero, hold, and a locking knob stated
  • One UK review used it on skirting and frames
  • Screen described as readable in a dim garage

Cons

  • Only four amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Battery count is one or two, depending on the row
  • No fault report and no square check in the UK reviews

Best for: A low-cost 200 mm rule you are willing to reject if it misses a square.

Less suitable: Choosing a top pick from a 5.0 star line with four reviews.

Common questions

Does the YUNSHU listing say the screen is backlit?

The listing asks about LED backlighting and does not answer yes or no. It does describe a high-contrast LCD and a reversible display.

Can it measure inside and outside angles?

Yes. The bullets say 0–360° inside and outside, with stated accuracy ±0.5° and resolution 0.05°. Folded length is 200 mm and extended length is 400 mm.

How many batteries are included?

The listing disagrees with itself. One bullet says two batteries are included. The technical details say one CR2032 is required and included.

orwayhu 200 mm protractor

Rank 2

orwayhu 200 mm protractor

Our view

orwayhu's ABS protractor is £8.29 and claims 0–360°, ±0.5°, and 0.05° steps, with zero and hold, at 80 g. amazon.co.uk shows 5.0 from two reviews. Both UK reviews say it gave an angle the buyer could cut to and seemed like value for money, and neither writes down a fault. The battery question on the listing is unanswered, auto-off is six minutes, and a lock knob is not named. Two reviews cannot show whether the ±0.5° claim survives a square. The dimensions row prints 21.8 × 21.8 cm, which does not by itself describe a 200 mm folded rule, so check the live photos before you assume the length. It is a cheap listing to open and test, not a pick based on five stars.

Pros

  • £8.29 and 80 g
  • Zero and hold stated, with ±0.5° and 0.05°
  • Both UK reviews say it produced a cuttable angle

Cons

  • Only two amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Battery type unanswered
  • No lock named; size row is 21.8 × 21.8 cm

Best for: A cheap ABS rule you will square-check and return if it is out.

Less suitable: Anyone treating 5.0 from two reviews as evidence of accuracy.

Common questions

What batteries does it use?

The listing asks and does not answer. It does say the tool switches off after 6 minutes. Material is ABS and weight is 80 g.

Is it described as a professional tool?

The listing asks if it is suitable for professional use and does not answer. The bullets call it a professional angle tool with stated accuracy ±0.5° and resolution 0.05° over 0–360°.

Does it measure length as well as angle?

Yes. The bullets say metric and imperial length and angle. Hold and zero are both stated. A lock knob is not named.

Trend DLB magnetic level box

Rank 3

Trend DLB magnetic level box

∼£20

Our view

The Trend DLB is a magnetic ABS level box at £19.95, and 4.7 from 5,486 amazon.co.uk reviews describe it as a pocket tool for setting a table-saw or mitre-saw blade after you zero it on the table. Buyers praise the magnet and say it is faster than setting a blade by eye. One review uses it to set a sharpening-stone angle to about a tenth of a degree. The Amazon listing does not state a ± accuracy or a resolution; Trend's UK page states ±0.2° and 0.1°, and the Amazon size and weight fields (28 × 28 mm and 170 g) do not match that page. Magnets are on one face, which is the complaint when the box will not sit as wanted on a blade. It has no arms, so it cannot span two walls. It is the top pick here for a steel blade with the saw unplugged, and the wrong tool for a skirting corner.

Pros

  • 4.7 from 5,486 amazon.co.uk reviews at £19.95
  • Magnetic base and relative zero for saw setup
  • Pocket size; UK reviews call the magnet strong
  • Display arrows and a screen that inverts

Cons

  • Amazon page omits the ± figure Trend prints
  • Magnets on one face only
  • No arms, so it cannot read a wall corner
  • Amazon size and weight disagree with Trend's page

Best for: Setting a mitre-saw or table-saw blade relative to that saw's table, with the power off.

Less suitable: Skirtings, bays, and any corner that needs two arms on two faces.

Common questions

Is the Trend DLB magnetic?

Yes. The listing says it has a magnetic base so it can sit on a saw blade after you zero it on the table. Material is ABS.

Can it measure a corner between two walls?

The listing does not describe arms. It is a level box for a surface, a saw table or a blade. A two-wall corner is not one of the stated uses.

What accuracy does Amazon state?

This amazon.co.uk listing does not state a ± accuracy or a resolution. It does state a zero function, arrow icons and a display that rotates when the box is inverted.

LEXIVON LX-DAF5 130 mm

Rank 4

LEXIVON LX-DAF5 130 mm

∼£23

Our view

The LEXIVON LX-DAF5 is a 130 mm anodised aluminium rule at £22.99, stated at 360° including reverse, ±0.3°, and 0.05° steps, with zero, hold/flip, and a lock knob. amazon.co.uk shows 4.6 from 752 reviews. Fourteen UK reviews praise a screw-down battery cover, a spare cell with a screwdriver, and the zip pouch, and one buyer used it on flooring trim in an old house. One unit showed 90.4° against a square, which that buyer said was worse than the stated accuracy, and another blade had a twist. The cell type is not in the spec table. At 130 mm it is shorter than the 200 mm rules, which helps a tight toolbox and limits a wide bay. It is a short aluminium rule with a stated band and a pouch, worth keeping only if your square agrees more closely than that 90.4° report.

Pros

  • Stated ±0.3° and 0.05° on a 130 mm aluminium rule
  • 4.6 from 752 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Lock, zero, hold, and reverse buttons
  • Zip pouch; reviewers mention a screwed battery cover

Cons

  • One UK check read 90.4° on a square
  • One blade arrived with a twist
  • 130 mm is short for a wide bay
  • Cell type is not in the spec table

Best for: Flooring trim and tight spaces where a short rule and a pouch matter.

Less suitable: Wide bays, or a buyer who needs the first unit to match ±0.3° on a square without a check.

Common questions

What batteries does the LEXIVON use?

The listing asks and the bullets do not name the cell. A UK review says a spare battery and a screwdriver are included and that the cover is a screw. That is a review, not the specification table.

Does it come with a case?

Yes. Included components are a heavy-duty case, and the bullets describe a zippered pouch. The rule is 5 inches / 130 mm of anodised aluminium.

What accuracy is stated?

The listing says ±0.3° and 0.05° resolution, with a 360° range and a lock knob. Inside, outside and reverse readings are described.

Trend DAR/200 200 mm rule

Rank 5

Trend DAR/200 200 mm rule

∼£18

Our view

Across 5,914 amazon.co.uk reviews, the Trend DAR/200 is the stainless hinged rule buyers use on skirtings, dado, shelves, and bay windows, then lock and carry to a mitre saw. At £18.49 it has a 0.1° display, a centre locking knob, and a CR2032 with auto-off. Reviewers often zero it closed and open it onto the corner, and they say the lock holds without much force. The Amazon listing does not print a ± accuracy figure; Trend's UK page states 0.3°, which is the maker's number rather than a test on this page. The plastic battery cover is a repeated complaint, including a snapped tab, and one UK review says light rain fogged the LCD. Arms around 7 inches are short on a larger surface, and a false reading shows up if the rule is not seated on the blade and fence. It is the best value here when you want that known stainless rule and will check it against a square.

Pros

  • 4.5 from 5,914 amazon.co.uk reviews at £18.49
  • Stainless rule with a centre lock reviewers say holds
  • Zero button and 0.1° steps on the listing
  • UK reviews cover bay windows, dado, and shelves

Cons

  • Amazon page has no ± accuracy figure
  • Fiddly battery cover; a tab can snap
  • LCD fogged after light rain in one review
  • About 7 inch arms are short on large faces

Best for: Skirtings, dado, shelves, and other corners when you want a stainless rule with a lock and a large UK review sample.

Less suitable: Saw-blade setup, wet sites, or anyone who needs a ± figure printed on the amazon.co.uk page.

Common questions

What is the Trend DAR/200 made of?

The amazon.co.uk listing says stainless steel. Item weight is 163 g. Colour is silver and the style name is 200 mm.

Does the Trend DAR/200 lock the angle?

Yes. The bullets describe a centre locking knob for transferring an angle to a table saw or a mitre saw. A zero-function button is also stated.

Which battery does it use?

The listing says a CR2032 3 V cell with auto power-off. A stated accuracy in degrees is not on this Amazon listing. Resolution is given as 0.1 degree.

AivaToba stainless 200 mm

Rank 6

AivaToba stainless 200 mm

∼£17

Our view

AivaToba's stainless hinged rule is £16.99, listed at 0–360° and ±0.3°, with 4.4 from 3,699 amazon.co.uk reviews. UK reviews use it for skirting, stair spindles, and setting a tenon saw, and several accept about half a degree at this price. The same review themes, and the same 4.4 from 3,699, appear on the carbon-fibre AivaToba listing, so this is not a second independent sample. Occasional random readings, missing instructions, and an unclear button-cell location are the repeated complaints. The listing warns that the stainless edge is sharp and should be kept away from children. Hold is a short press on HOLD/Rev; a hinge lock is not named in the spec table. It can be a mid-price corner rule if a square agrees with it.

Pros

  • £16.99 with ±0.3° stated on the listing
  • UK reviews mention skirting and stair spindles
  • Hold and reverse on one button
  • Spare button cell mentioned by reviewers

Cons

  • Review text matches the other AivaToba ASIN's star line
  • Occasional random readings
  • Sharp stainless edge
  • No named hinge lock; battery not in the spec table

Best for: Home skirtings and odd timber angles if you accept about half a degree and check a square.

Less suitable: Paid work that needs a documented lock, or anyone counting these 3,699 reviews as unique to this ASIN.

Common questions

What accuracy does this AivaToba listing state?

The bullets say ±0.3°, range 0–360°, folded length 200 mm and total length 400 mm. A resolution figure is not stated.

What is it made of?

The bullet says stainless steel. Technical details say metal. Item weight is 230 g. The listing warns that the steel edge is sharp and should be kept away from children.

Does it have a hold function?

Yes. A short press of HOLD/Rev saves the reading. A long press inverts the display. The cell type is not in the specification table.

AivaToba carbon-fibre rule

Rank 7

AivaToba carbon-fibre rule

∼£16

Our view

This AivaToba rule is £15.99 and 110 g. Bullets say carbon fibre and ABS, 0.05° resolution, and ±0.1°, while one line says 0–360° and another says 0–999.9°. Technical details say metal, so the material is not a single fact. The star line is 4.4 from 3,699, matching the stainless AivaToba page, and the UK review themes on this listing repeat that page, including skirting and occasional glitches. The page tells you to lay the ruler flat and zero before measuring, or the value will be inaccurate, and auto-off is six minutes. Included components are listed as none, so a cell is not promised in the spec table. Treat ±0.1° and 0–999.9° as unverified claims: it is a light rule for DIY corners only after a square check, not a tighter instrument because the screen shows another decimal.

Pros

  • £15.99 and 110 g
  • Zero at any angle and a hold button
  • Metric and imperial scales on the listing

Cons

  • ±0.1° and 0–999.9° are not verified
  • Carbon fibre, ABS, and metal all appear on the listing
  • Same 3,699-review line as the stainless AivaToba
  • Included components listed as none

Best for: A light home rule if you zero it flat and then check a square.

Less suitable: Buyers who want the ±0.1° bullet treated as proven accuracy.

Common questions

What accuracy does this listing claim?

The bullet says ±0.1° and 0.05° resolution. It also says to lay the rule flat and zero it first, or the reading will be wrong. One line says 0–999.9° and the highlight says 0–360°.

What is it made of?

The bullets say carbon fibre and ABS. The technical details say metal. Item weight is 110 g. Included components are listed as none.

Does it have hold?

Yes. A short press of HOLD/Rev keeps the number. A long press inverts the display. A short press of zero clears the reading at any angle.

Neoteck 0–225° protractor

Rank 8

Neoteck 0–225° protractor

∼£27

Our view

The Neoteck is a long aluminium protractor at £26.99, stated 0–225° and ±0.5°, with a backlit LCD, a bag, and one AAA cell included. amazon.co.uk shows 4.4 from 3,039 reviews. The title says 16 inches, and reviewers like the reach for larger layout and odd angles, including darker spots where the backlight helps. The listing itself says the knob cannot hold the angle firm, so the red HOLD button freezes the digits and the arms can still move. One review says the lock knob fell apart after little use. Horizontal and vertical vials are fitted, and the page says they are not a digital level and will not put a level number on the LCD. At 549 g it is the bulky end of this set. Use it when you can read the number in place; do not buy it to carry a locked corner to the saw.

Pros

  • 0–225° reach with a backlit LCD
  • 4.4 from 3,039 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Case and AAA cell included
  • HOLD button freezes the reading

Cons

  • Listing says the knob will not hold the arms
  • Lock knob broke for one buyer
  • Vials are not a digital level
  • 549 g and too large for small jobs, in reviews

Best for: Larger layout where you read the angle where you measured it.

Less suitable: Transferring a locked skirting angle to a saw, or using the vials as a digital level.

Common questions

What angles can the Neoteck measure?

The listing says 0–225°, precision ±0.5° and steps of 0.1°. The title length is 16 inches. Item weight is 549 g.

Can it be used as a spirit level?

Only as a visual check. The listing says the horizontal and vertical bubbles do not put a level number on the LCD, and that it is not a digital level.

Does the knob lock the arms?

No. The listing says the knob only loosens and tightens and cannot hold the angle firm. Data hold is the red HOLD button. One AAA cell is included.

XUNTOP dual-laser angle gauge

Rank 9

XUNTOP dual-laser angle gauge

∼£23

Our view

The XUNTOP is a red aluminium magnetic gauge at £22.99 with dual Class 2 lasers under 1 mW, four-sided magnets claimed, ±0.1° at 0° and 90° and ±0.2° elsewhere, 0.05° resolution, a stated IP54 rating, and a USB-C rechargeable pack. amazon.co.uk shows 4.2 from 3,340 reviews. UK buyers use the small box for kitchen drawers, handles, and some table-saw checks, and they like the green lines for hanging work. The same sample includes a zero that changes when you lift the gauge and replace it, corner magnets that slip on saw blades, and a laser line about 2 cm low at one end of a mirror. The switch can turn the unit on inside a pouch, and the display is awkward to read from the floor. It is the only laser box in this set if you want a Class 2 line and will not stare into it. It is a weak stand-in for the Trend DLB when the magnet has to stay put on a blade.

Pros

  • Class 2 dual lasers under 1 mW, plus a level box
  • Stated ±0.1° at 0°/90° and IP54 on the listing
  • USB-C pack and a storage bag
  • 4.2 from 3,340 amazon.co.uk reviews

Cons

  • Repeat zero fails for some UK buyers
  • Corner magnets slip on saw blades in reviews
  • Laser line about 2 cm out on a mirror in one review
  • Switch turns on in a pocket or pouch

Best for: Alignment where you also want a Class 2 laser line and can recheck the zero.

Less suitable: A repeatable magnet on a saw blade, or a wall-to-wall skirting angle.

Common questions

What accuracy does the XUNTOP listing state?

Is it waterproof?

The listing claims IP54 and uses the words dust-proof and waterproof. That is the seller's claim. A carry bag and a USB-C cable are also stated.

What laser class is stated?

Class 2, output power less than 1 mW, with dual lasers. Magnets are claimed on four sides. The cell is an internal 340 mAh pack charged by USB-C.

Flintronic 200 mm protractor

Rank 10

Flintronic 200 mm protractor

∼£10

Our view

Flintronic's 200 mm protractor is listed at £9.99 with a stated ±0.5°, 0.05° steps, a CR2032, and auto-off after six minutes, and amazon.co.uk shows 4.2 from 333 reviews. Several UK buyers call it light and good value, and one used a lock on bay-window skirting with uneven angles. Others report a closed tool reading 1–2°, a set square reading 87°, and a fully open flat surface reading 175°. One unit read past 400° and lost display segments. The quality bullet says ABS, while one review describes solid metal ruler sections, so the material line is not settled. A battery case that fell out and a missing button also appear in the UK reviews. Check it against a square before you trust the ±0.5° claim on a finished length of skirting.

Pros

  • £9.99 with CR2032 included
  • Stated 0–360°, ±0.5°, and 0.05° steps
  • Some UK buyers report a usable lock on bay skirting

Cons

  • UK reviews include 87° on a set square and 175° when open flat
  • Display segments and a battery case that fell out
  • ABS in the bullet, metal in a review

Best for: A cheap trial on DIY trim if a square agrees with the screen before you cut.

Less suitable: Paid carpentry, or any cut where you cannot spare an offcut to prove the reading.

Common questions

What angle range does Flintronic state?

The bullets say 0–360°, accuracy ±0.5° and resolution 0.05°. Folded length is 21.9 cm and full length is 40 cm. They also say to zero it horizontally before each measurement.

Does it measure in inches?

The bullets say it measures lengths and angles in metric and imperial. Whether a pencil is included is not answered.

Which battery does it take?

One CR2032, and the technical details say it is included. Auto shut-off is after 6 minutes. A named lock knob is not in the bullets.

LIBAIDZ nylon 200 mm rule

Rank 11

LIBAIDZ nylon 200 mm rule

Our view

LIBAIDZ is the lowest price here at £7.99, a fibreglass-nylon rule of about 200 mm closed and 400 mm open, stated at 0–360°, ±0.5° on the angle, and ±1 mm on the ruler. amazon.co.uk shows 4.2 from 90 reviews. Five UK reviews include successful awkward beading and random skirting angles, and also a return for about 5° out on a 90° angle and another unit about 2° out. A rounded bulky corner stops the arm sitting fully into a tight corner. The knob is marked Lock and Release. The listing says batteries are not required and the power source is hand-powered, which sits next to an LCD and buttons and is left unresolved. If it reads 90° on your square, the nylon body may be enough for trim. If it does not, the ±0.5° line has already failed.

Pros

  • £7.99 with a lock knob and a hold button
  • Stated ±0.5° and ±1 mm on the ruler
  • Some UK buyers fitted awkward beading

Cons

  • UK reviews of about 2° and about 5° off a right angle
  • Bulky corner blocks a tight internal joint
  • Battery line says none, beside an LCD

Best for: Trim experiments where you can return a unit that misses a square.

Less suitable: A finished skirting run if you need the arms to sit hard into the corner.

Common questions

How accurate does LIBAIDZ say it is?

The package bullet says ±0.5° on the angle and ±1 mm on the ruler. Folded length is 200 mm and total length is 400 mm. A resolution in degrees is not stated.

Does it lock?

Yes. The listing describes a knob marked Lock and Release. Buttons are D/M for units, HOLD, and ON/OFF/ZERO.

Does it need a battery?

The technical details say batteries are not included and not required, and the power source is hand-powered. It still describes an LCD.

Pnoyws 200 mm protractor

Rank 12

Pnoyws 200 mm protractor

∼£10

Our view

The Pnoyws listing is a 200 mm hinged protractor at £9.79 that claims 0–360° inside and outside, ±0.5°, and 0.05° resolution, with one-click zero, data hold, a locking knob, and a CR2032. amazon.co.uk shows 4.1 from 17 reviews, and three UK reviews on the listing are all positive, with no fault written down. That sample is too small to show whether the carbon-fibre claim or the ±0.5° band survives a square. A listing question about whether the arms are metal is unanswered. The 0.05° screen is the step size, not a tighter accuracy than the stated ±0.5°. Treat it as a light extra to check on a known right angle before any finished cut, not as a proven substitute for the Trend rule.

Pros

  • £9.79 with stated ±0.5° and 0.05° steps
  • Zero, hold, and a locking knob on the listing
  • 200 mm closed and 400 mm open

Cons

  • Only 17 amazon.co.uk reviews, three UK reviews
  • Carbon fibre is a claim; metal is not confirmed
  • No UK review on the listing checks it against a square

Best for: A spare 200 mm rule if you will prove it on a square before you cut.

Less suitable: Anyone choosing from stars alone, or a job that needs a large UK review sample.

Common questions

How accurate does the listing say this protractor is?

The bullets state ±0.5° accuracy, 0.05° resolution and a 0–360° range for inside and outside angles. That is the seller's claim, not a lab result.

Does it have hold and a lock?

Yes. The bullets state data hold, a one-click zero and a locking knob. The display can be reversed.

Is it metal?

The listing asks that and does not answer it. The material bullet says carbon fibre. Item weight is 100 g.

How we compared

Shelf prices, stars and review counts are the amazon.co.uk lines for these twelve listings, captured on 19 October 2026. This is not a lab test. The start score is the star rating divided by 5, then multiplied by 100. A 4.5 becomes 90. Under 20 reviews, 18 points come off, so a 5.0 from two or four reviews does not lead the table. No equipment points were added. A stated ± figure stays in the comparison columns, because several Amazon pages omit a band the maker prints elsewhere. Square misses in UK reviews stay in the written verdict. They are not a second numeric penalty. The highest score is the Trend DLB at 94, the top pick for a steel blade with the saw isolated. Best value is the Trend DAR/200 at about £18.49, score 90, on price against a large review sample for a hinged rule.

Digital angle finder buying guide

Buy the type before the lowest sticker. A hinged rule touches two faces. A magnetic box sets a steel blade. A laser box is only for buyers who also want a Class 2 line. The top pick is the Trend DLB at about £19.95, for a blade with the saw isolated. Best value is the Trend DAR/200 at about £18.49, for corners, on a large UK review sample. Stated accuracy is not the same thing as the decimal places on the screen. A star rating does not prove a match to a square.

What is a digital angle finder?

A digital angle finder reads an angle and puts a number on a screen. On amazon.co.uk the tools in this set are one of three types. A hinged digital rule is about 200 mm closed and about 400 mm open. You put the arms on two walls or two edges, then lock the hinge and carry that angle to the saw. A magnetic level box has no arms. You zero it on the saw table and stick it to a steel blade. A laser magnetic box does the same job and also throws a visible line.

Best for

  • Setting a steel saw blade with the saw unplugged
  • Skirtings, dado and shelves that need two arms

Not ideal for

  • A magnetic box on a two-wall corner
  • A saw you are not competent to use

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

Using a box on a skirting corner

A magnetic level box has no arms. It cannot span two walls, so it will not read a skirting, dado or bay. Use a hinged rule for that corner. Wickes still describes a scribe for a normal 90° internal joint.

  2. 2

Reading the screen step as accuracy

Resolution is the step on the display. Accuracy is the maker's error band. A 0.05° screen beside a stated ±0.5° is not a tighter tool. The AivaToba 0–999.9° bullet is not treated as a verified range.

  3. 3

Skipping zero, or dialling the whole corner

Zero on the table before you read a blade. Do not trust a lock the listing says will not hold. The Neoteck knob is that case. For a mitre, bisect the corner. A published split is 180 minus 133.5, then half. Do not dial the full corner into the saw.

What to weigh up

Type for the job, and stated accuracy

High

Buy the type before the sticker. Arms if you must touch two walls or two edges: skirtings, dado, shelves, alcoves and bays. A magnetic box if you are setting a steel blade or a fence, with the saw unplugged. A laser box only if you also want a visible line, and only with Class 2 limits. A magnetic box cannot span two walls, so it is the wrong tool on a skirting corner. The Trend DLB is the magnetic box in this set. The Trend DAR/200 is the stainless hinged rule.

Relative zero, a lock, and a square

High

Zero the tool on the surface you will measure from. On a saw, zero the magnetic box on the table, then read the blade. Trend's DLB how-to is that sequence. On a hinged rule, buyers of the DAR/200 often zero it closed and open it onto the corner. Hold freezes the digits so you can read them. A hinge knob is what keeps the corner while you walk to the saw. The Neoteck listing says its knob does not hold the angle firm. On that tool, hold is a separate button, and the arms can still move.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Setting a saw blade

You want a magnetic box you can zero on the saw table and stick to a steel blade, with the saw unplugged. The Trend DLB at about £19.95 has 4.7 from 5,486 amazon.co.uk reviews. It has no arms, so it cannot read a wall corner. Check it against a square before the finished cut.

Skirtings, dado and shelves

You need two arms on two faces, then a lock you can carry to the saw. The Trend DAR/200 at about £18.49 is the stainless hinged rule, with 4.5 from 5,914 reviews. The Amazon page does not print a ± figure. Trend's UK page states 0.3°. That is the maker's number, not a lab result.

A Class 2 laser line as well

You want a visible line as well as a tilt reading, and you will not stare into the beam. The XUNTOP at about £22.99 is the only laser box here, stated under 1 mW, with USB-C and a claimed IP54 rating. UK reviews include a zero that does not repeat. It cannot span two walls.

Common questions about Digital angle finders

Which digital angle finder is the top pick in 2026?
The top pick is the Trend DLB magnetic level box, ASIN B01HF9FJJU, at about £19.95. It scored 94, from 4.7 and 5,486 amazon.co.uk reviews. You zero it on the saw table and stick the magnetic base to a steel blade, with the saw unplugged. It has no arms, so it cannot read a wall corner. The Amazon page omits a ± figure. Trend's UK page states ±0.2° and 0.1°. That maker figure is not a lab result.
How much does a digital angle finder cost on amazon.co.uk?
Stored amazon.co.uk prices run from about £7.99 to about £26.99, captured on 19 October 2026. Entry hinges are about £7.99 to £9.99. Mid range is about £15.99 to £19.95, including the Trend DAR/200 and the Trend DLB. The upper end here is about £22.99 to £26.99 for the LEXIVON, the XUNTOP and the Neoteck. Trend's own shop showed higher prices for those two Trend tools. Those shop prices are not the Amazon figures.
What should you check before you buy a digital angle finder?
Check the type first. Arms if you must touch two walls or two edges. A magnetic box if you are setting a steel blade or a fence. A laser box only if you also need a visible line, within Class 2 limits. Then read stated accuracy separately from resolution. The screen step is not the error band. Then check relative zero, and whether a lock or hold keeps the reading. If the tool and a square disagree, do not cut.
Can a magnetic level box measure a skirting corner?
No. A magnetic level box, including the Trend DLB, has no arms, so it cannot span two walls. Skirtings, dado, shelves and bays need a hinged rule. The Trend DAR/200 is the stainless rule here, at about £18.49. A cube on a skirting corner is a common miss. Wickes still describes a scribe for a normal 90° internal joint. For a corner that is not square, measure it and bisect. Do not dial the full corner into the saw.
How do you zero a digital angle finder before a cut?
Zero on the surface you are measuring from. On a saw, zero the box on the table, then read the blade, with the saw unplugged. On a hinged rule, DAR/200 reviewers often zero it closed and open it onto the corner. Hold freezes the digits. A hinge knob keeps the corner while you walk to the saw. The Neoteck listing says its knob does not hold the angle firm. If the reading and a square disagree, do not cut.
When is an analogue angle finder the better tool?
Use a digital rule when the corner must become a number you can bisect for a mitre. Use the magnetic box when the job is a steel blade. If you only need to copy an angle, with no digits, an analogue angle finder is a different tool. This page does not rank those. They are compared on the angle finder page. A sliding bevel copies an angle too, and it has no battery.
What does Class 2 mean on a laser angle box?
Class 2 is a visible beam. Do not stare into it, and do not aim it at people. Dazzle matters near machines. The only laser box here is the XUNTOP, at about £22.99, stated under 1 mW. UK reviews include a zero that changes when you lift and replace the gauge, and a line about 2 cm out on a mirror. It is a weak stand-in for the Trend DLB when the magnet must stay on a blade.
Does a star rating prove the tool matches a square?
No. Scores start from the amazon.co.uk star rating divided by 5, then multiplied by 100. Listings under 20 reviews lose 18 points. That is not a check against a square. UK reviews here include 87° on a set square, units about 2° and about 5° out, and 90.4° against a stated ±0.3°. If the tool, a square and a test cut disagree, stop. A 5.0 from two or four reviews does not lead this table.

Our verdict

The top pick is the Trend DLB magnetic level box at about £19.95. It has the highest score in this set, 94, from 4.7 and 5,486 amazon.co.uk reviews, for a steel blade with the saw isolated. It has no arms, so it cannot read a skirting corner. Best value is the Trend DAR/200 at about £18.49, score 90, a stainless hinged rule with 4.5 from 5,914 reviews. Listings under £10 are cheaper and, in this set, either miss a square in UK reviews or have too few reviews to carry that badge. None of these scores is a lab ranking.
