Top pick: Arlo floodlight camera Best value: Arlo Essential 2 2K camera – Lowest shelf price at £49.99 for one outdoor 2K battery camera, after the thin UK file and the fast-drain note. Updated October 2026.
An Arlo camera is a Wi-Fi home camera in the Arlo Secure app. These eleven amazon.co.uk listings, priced, are one camera or a pack of two, three or four, on a battery or a mains lead. You are usually covering a door, a drive or a pet room, often beside an Arlo doorbell. Tell the models apart by power, pan and tilt, the listed resolution (1080p, HD or 2K), and whether a can store clips. This page uses the stored listings and review notes. The decision order is in the [Arlo camera buying guide](/hub/electronic-surveillance/arlo-camera/sub/arlo-camera-buying-guide).
The first decision is what the camera must do next week. Arlo’s UK plans page still includes motion alerts, live stream, siren, spotlight and two-way audio on the no-plan list. Cloud history, activity zones, and person, vehicle, animal and package detection are plan features.

The Arlo floodlight camera, model FLW2001, is a wired outdoor unit at £99.99, rated 4.3 from 32 reviews. Only two reviews in the sample are from the United Kingdom. Both are positive, and both come from people who already use Arlo. One replaced older wireless floodlights. There is not enough UK text to claim a defect rate. The listing states 2K, a 160° field of view, colour night vision, a siren, two-way audio, IP65, and up to 2,000 lumens, and the research notes motion detection up to 7 metres. It weighs 844 g and measures 17.2 by 26.5 by 16.9 cm. The box is a junction box, an S-hook, and screws, not a USB lead, and the power-source field is blank even though the title says wired. A new outdoor circuit in England is notifiable electrical work. Thirty-two reviews and two UK comments are a thin basis for the 4.3.
Pros
2K, 160° field of view, and up to 2,000 lumens at £99.99
4.3 from 32 reviews
Two UK reviews are positive, including one owner who replaced older wireless floodlights
Siren, two-way audio, colour night vision, IP65
Cons
Only two United Kingdom reviews in the sample
Mains fitting with a junction box, not a USB lead
Power source is not filled in on the listing
A new outdoor circuit is an electrician’s job in England
Best for: You want a wired floodlight over a door you already have a suitable circuit for, and you already use Arlo.
Less suitable: You want a battery camera, or a first outdoor light on a new garden circuit.
The amazon.co.uk listing for B0FJYHCKNV states outdoor use and IP65. The title says wired and weatherproof. It is not an indoor pet camera.
Does this pack need a mains lead or a battery?
The power-source field is blank, and batteries required is not stated. The title says wired. The box is a junction box, an S-hook and screws, not a USB lead.
What resolution and night vision does the listing state?
The title states 2K HDR, a 160° field of view and colour night vision. The comparison extract printed 1920p. A night-vision range is not stated. Motion detection is noted up to 7 metres.
The Arlo Essential 3 outdoor pan-tilt pair, model VMC2083, is two corded HD cameras at £104.99, rated 4.3 from 28 amazon.co.uk reviews, and every review in that sample is from the United Kingdom. Buyers praise a sharp picture and the tracking, which is the practical point of a 360° head over a porch. The same reviews say each camera has to stay on its lead, and the box includes a 4.8 m outdoor USB-C cable for each camera. You set it up in the Arlo Secure app with an email and a phone number, and reviewers say the features they wanted sat behind a subscription. One reviewer states the cameras do not connect to an Arlo hub, so only cloud recording is possible, which matches Arlo’s note that Essential pan-tilt cameras cannot pair with a SmartHub. Night vision is listed to 8 metres, the weather line is IP65, and each camera weighs 284 g. The listing marks batteries as required while the power source is corded electric. Twenty-eight reviews is a small file, so the 4.3 is not a large-sample result.
Pros
4.3 from 28 reviews, and the sample is from the United Kingdom
Reviewers praise the picture and the tracking
Two cameras, wall or eave brackets, and a 4.8 m outdoor USB-C lead each
Colour night vision listed to 8 metres, IP65, siren and two-way audio
Cons
Must stay on the lead
Cannot pair with an Arlo SmartHub, so no hub recording
Reviewers say wanted features sit behind a subscription
Only 28 reviews
Best for: You want a plug-in outdoor pair that can pan across your own porch, and you do not need a SmartHub.
Less suitable: You wanted local clips on a hub, or a camera you can mount with no cable run.
The indoor Essential 3 fixed pair, model VMC2070, is two corded HD cameras at £58.49, rated 4.2 from 76 reviews, with an auto privacy lens cover in the title. One United Kingdom review in the first 50 says Bluetooth pairing is easier than the old Essential QR-code routine. The rest of that sample is from other European storefronts, so there is no UK fault list to summarise and none is invented here. The listing states indoor use, corded power, batteries required No, and a night-vision range of 8 metres. The weather field says IP65 while the use line says indoor. The mount line says tabletop, and the box also includes wall-mount kits and indoor USB-C leads. You get a privacy shutter and two cameras for less than £60. You do not get a large British review file to confirm how that shutter behaves day to day.
Pros
£58.49 for two corded indoor cameras
Auto privacy lens cover in the title
4.2 from 76 reviews
One UK review says Bluetooth pairing is easier than the old QR routine
Cons
Only one United Kingdom review in the first 50
HD, not 2K
IP65 is printed on an indoor use line
No stated field of view
Best for: You want two plug-in indoor cameras with a privacy cover, and you can accept a thin UK review sample.
Less suitable: You need outdoor mounting, 2K, or a review file that is mostly from Britain.
The Essential 2, model VMC3050, is a single 2K battery camera at £49.99, the lowest shelf price in this set, rated 4.0 from 68 reviews. Only six of the first reviews in the saved listing are from the United Kingdom, and several are one line, so the 4.0 is thin on detail. The useful UK comments say the camera is pointless unless you will pay monthly, and that older Arlo cameras saved clips in a way this one does not. A separate review says a unit lost about 60 percent of its charge in 12 hours and that the seller wanted the buyer to pay return postage. The listing states colour night vision to 8 metres, a siren, two-way audio, and IP65. Arlo’s average-use figure for a standard Essential 3rd-gen battery is about four months under three minutes of clips a day, and a busy road is shorter. It is the best-value hardware if you want one outdoor 2K camera and you have already priced the plan. It is a weak buy if you expected free cloud history.
Pros
£49.99, the lowest shelf price in this set
2K, colour night vision listed to 8 metres, siren, two-way audio, IP65
4.0 from 68 reviews
One camera, so you are not paying for views you will not mount
Cons
Only six of the first reviews are from the United Kingdom
UK comments say it is pointless unless you pay monthly
One unit lost about 60 percent of its charge in 12 hours
A return-postage complaint
Best for: You want one outdoor 2K battery camera at the lowest hardware price here, and you have priced Arlo Secure.
Less suitable: You want free cloud history, or a large set of detailed UK reviews.
The Essential 3 HD battery three-pack, model VMC2080, is three cameras at £141.31, rated 3.9 from 130 reviews. Buyers who already had an Arlo doorbell say setup was simple and alerts were quick enough for a garden. Later reviews describe glitches and footage that stopped storing after about a month, which is what a lapsed trial looks like if you do not say it plainly. Resolution on the listing is HD, colour night vision is listed to 8 metres, and the weather line is IP65. The box includes three cameras, three mounts, and one indoor charging cable, so you charge one camera at a time unless you already own more leads. Arlo’s average-use figure for a standard Essential 3rd-gen battery is about four months, and a camera facing a busy road will be shorter. It is a mid-price way to cover three spots. The storage cutoff is a plan question, not a reason to call the hardware broken on the first day.
Pros
Three HD battery cameras at £141.31
3.9 from 130 reviews
Owners with an Arlo doorbell report a simple setup and garden alerts
Colour night vision listed to 8 metres, siren, two-way audio, IP65
Cons
HD, not the 2K of the Essential 2 or Pro 6
One charging cable for three cameras
Later reviews describe footage that stopped storing after about a month
About four months is Arlo’s average, and a busy road is shorter
Best for: You want three battery cameras for a garden and a path, and you already use an Arlo doorbell.
Less suitable: You want 2K on every camera, or you will not pay for cloud history after the trial.
The indoor Essential 3 pan-tilt pair, model VMC2073, is two corded HD cameras at £69.99, rated 3.9 from 98 reviews. Reviewers describe a quick setup, a picture good enough to watch a cat, and two-way audio that worked in at least one home. The use line says indoor, batteries required is No, and night vision is listed to 8 metres. The hub complaint appears here too: one buyer returned a camera because it would not pair with a smart hub, so this pair is the wrong buy if you wanted USB or hub history. Subscription warnings in the reviews are explicit. The weather field still says IP65 even though the use line says indoor, so that rating is a listing line, not a reason to hang the camera in the rain. The box is two cameras, wall-mount kits, and indoor USB-C leads. Ninety-eight reviews is a usable sample, and the 3.9 already includes those hub and plan complaints.
Pros
£69.99 for two corded indoor pan-tilt cameras
3.9 from 98 reviews
Reviewers used it to watch a cat, and two-way audio worked in one home
Setup is described as quick
Cons
Will not pair with a smart hub; one buyer returned it for that
Subscription warnings are explicit in the reviews
IP65 is printed on an indoor-only use line
Best for: You want a plug-in indoor pair that can follow a pet around one room.
Less suitable: You wanted hub storage, or an outdoor camera.
The older Essential three-camera kit, linked as B0CRS5W6VP, is the deepest review pool in the set at 3.8 from 700 reviews, and it is also the awkward price: £247.68 for 1080p hardware. Reviewers praise a simple setup, clear night vision, and a long battery for some buyers. Complaints include a camera that stopped charging, brackets that owners replaced with third-party mounts, dislike of the monthly fee, and software trouble. One reviewer says HomeKit talk in Arlo’s wider marketing does not apply to this Essential model. The box lists three black cameras, three wall mounts, and one charging cable, and the title mentions a six-month battery. The Essential 3 HD three-pack in this same comparison is £141.31, so you pay more here for an older resolution and a larger review file. Seven hundred reviews tell you how this generation behaved. They do not make 1080p the sharper camera.
Pros
3.8 from 700 reviews, the largest file in this set
Reviewers praise simple setup and clear night vision
Some owners report a long battery
Three cameras and three mounts in the box
Cons
£247.68 for 1080p, above the £141.31 HD three-pack
A camera that stopped charging
Brackets replaced with third-party mounts
HomeKit marketing does not apply to this Essential, according to one reviewer
Best for: You specifically want the Essential generation with the longest amazon.co.uk review history, and 1080p is enough.
Less suitable: You want 2K, or the cheaper way to buy three Essential cameras.
The two-camera Pro 6 kit, model VMC4070P, is £174.99, rated 3.8 from 115 reviews, and it is the top pick in this set for a drive you can cover with two battery cameras if you will pay for Arlo Secure. The box includes two cameras, three rechargeable batteries, and a dual charger, so one pack can sit on charge while the cameras stay up. Reviewers describe fitting it on a driveway in about 15 minutes, a mount that feels secure, and a picture sharp enough for a face or a delivery. The same review file, shared with the three- and four-camera kits, says activity zones are hard to find and that Google Home, HomeKit, and Alexa did not work as one reviewer expected. Night vision is listed to 7.5 metres at 2K, with dual-band Wi-Fi and IP65. Arlo’s own average is about nine months when you record under three minutes a day. A single-camera price of £169.99 in one review is not this kit’s amazon.co.uk price.
Pros
Two 2K cameras, three batteries, and a dual charger at £174.99
3.8 from 115 reviews describing a driveway install of about 15 minutes
Picture described as sharp enough for a face or a delivery
Dual-band Wi-Fi, siren, colour night vision, IP65
Cons
Activity zones are hard to find in the reviews
One reviewer says Google Home, HomeKit, and Alexa did not work as claimed
The monthly plan changes whether reviewers call it good value
The 115 reviews are shared with the larger Pro 6 kits
Best for: You can cover a drive with two battery cameras, you want a spare battery in the box, and you will pay for Arlo Secure.
Less suitable: You will not pay monthly, or a short path that one Essential can see.
The three-camera Pro 6 kit is £239.99 for the same VMC4070P family, with the same 3.8 from 115 reviews as the other Pro 6 kits. The box lists three cameras, four rechargeable batteries, and the dual charger. Reviewers who wrote that shared text praise a sharp driveway picture and a secure mount, and they also say activity zones are hard to find. One review mentions £169.99, which is a single-camera price from that review, not this three-camera shelf price. Dual-band Wi-Fi is in the title, night vision is listed to 7.5 metres, and colour night vision is stated. You pay £65 more than the two-camera kit at £174.99 for a third view and one extra spare battery. If two cameras already see the drive and the path, the third camera is coverage you may not use. The monthly plan still changes whether the kit is good value, which is the review complaint that applies to every Pro 6 size.
Pros
Three 2K cameras, four batteries, and a dual charger
Same driveway praise as the other Pro 6 kits: picture and mount
Dual-band Wi-Fi, siren, colour night vision, IP65
£60 less than the four-camera kit
Cons
£65 more than the two-camera Pro 6 kit
The 115 reviews are not a separate sample
Activity zones are hard to find in those reviews
One reviewer says Google Home, HomeKit, and Alexa did not work as claimed
Best for: You need a third view as well as the drive, and you want spare batteries in the box.
Less suitable: A house where two cameras already cover the outside.
The four-camera Pro 6 kit, model VMC4070P, is £299.99 and shares the 3.8 from 115 reviews printed on the two- and three-camera Pro 6 listings, so those 115 reviews are one file, not 345. The box adds four cameras, five rechargeable batteries, and a dual charger. Reviewers describe a driveway install in about 15 minutes, a mount that feels secure, and a picture sharp enough for a face or a delivery. The same texts say activity zones are hard to find, and one reviewer says Google Home, Apple HomeKit, and Alexa did not work as claimed. Night vision is listed to 7.5 metres, resolution is 2K, connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi, and the weather line is IP65. Arlo’s battery FAQ puts Pro 6 at about nine months under three minutes of clips a day. At this price you are buying coverage for four views, and the monthly plan still decides whether that picture is good value.
Pros
Four 2K cameras, five batteries, and a dual charger
Reviewers describe a sharp driveway picture and a secure mount
Dual-band Wi-Fi, siren, two-way audio, IP65
Arlo’s average-use figure is about nine months
Cons
£299.99, the highest hardware price in this set
The 115 reviews are the same file as the smaller Pro 6 kits
Activity zones are hard to find, and one reviewer says the assistants did not work as claimed
Night vision is listed to 7.5 metres, shorter than the 8 metre Essential lines
Best for: You have four separate views and you want spare batteries in the same box as the cameras.
Less suitable: A short front path that one or two cameras can already see.
The Essential 3 2K XL pair, model VMC3082, is two battery outdoor cameras at £109.00, and it carries the lowest star line in this set at 3.6 from 67 reviews. Reviewers praise the install and the night vision, and one prefers the picture to Ring, Blink, and Nest. Arlo’s battery FAQ, updated 13 January 2026, puts an Essential 3rd-gen XL at about 16 months when you record under three minutes a day on a battery-saving profile. The reviews do not all match that average: one camera in a pair was charged three times in 19 days while the other held its charge, and another camera stayed offline on fibre with an extender. There is no SD card in the box, and reviewers call the plan pricey. Colour night vision is listed to 8 metres and the weather line is IP65. Battery life is not one number even inside a single two-camera box.
Pros
2K colour night vision, listed to 8 metres, on two battery cameras
£109.00 for the pair
Reviewers praise install and night vision
Arlo’s average-use XL figure is about 16 months
Cons
3.6 from 67 reviews, the lowest stars in this set
One camera in a pair needed three charges in 19 days
No SD card, and reviewers call the plan pricey
One camera stayed offline on fibre with an extender
Best for: You want two 2K battery cameras and a lower hardware price than Pro 6, and you can accept uneven battery life.
Less suitable: You need a predictable charge interval, or local storage on a card.
The amazon.co.uk listing for B0FP5KWX6J states indoor/outdoor use as Indoor, Outdoor. The weather rating on that listing is IP65.
Does this pack need a mains lead or a battery?
The listing gives the power source as Battery Powered. Batteries required: Yes.
What resolution and night vision does the listing state?
Resolution taken from the listing title or specification is 2K. Night vision is listed as Night Color, with a stated range of 8 Metres.
How we compared
Shelf date 19 October 2026. Scores use the amazon.co.uk listings kept in this category, the review notes already read from those files, and Arlo’s UK battery and plan pages. This is not a lab test. The three Pro 6 kits share one 3.8 from 115 reviews, so that count is used once. The highest score is the top pick. The lowest shelf price for a single 2K outdoor battery camera, after the thin UK review file and the fast-drain note, is best value.
1
Amazon evidence
30%
Star rating on amazon.co.uk, then a deduction when the count is small, when the texts are mostly not from the United Kingdom, or when the same review file is printed on three kit ASINs.
2
Listing fit
35%
A 2K battery camera with a stated night-vision range, a siren and a spare battery scores for a drive. A corded pan-tilt scores for tracking, then loses points because it cannot join a SmartHub. A 1080p kit priced above a newer HD three-pack loses points. A floodlight scores for the lamp and the 160° view, then loses points because the power-source field is blank and the install can be notifiable electrical work.
3
Review outcome
20%
UK reviews that describe a finished driveway or garden check score higher than a large file of charging failures, or a star line with almost no British text.
4
Value
15%
Shelf price in GBP against a camera a UK buyer can use for live view. A low price does not score here when cloud history is treated as free. The plan is not added into the hardware score.

Arlo camera buying guide
You are choosing an Arlo camera for a door, a drive or a pet room, usually beside a doorbell you already use. These eleven amazon.co.uk listings are the rows on this page. Prices on 19 October 2026 run from £49.99 to £299.99. The score uses listing fit, the UK review file, the star line and the shelf price. It is not a lab test. Live view works without a plan. Cloud history does not. Read power, pack size and where the lens points before you treat a low price as the year-one cost.
What is an Arlo camera?
An Arlo camera in this UK set is a Wi-Fi home camera in the Arlo Secure app. amazon.co.uk sells it as one camera or as a pack of two, three or four. Some packs use a rechargeable battery. Others stay on a mains lead. Shoppers here are usually adding a view of a door, a drive or a pet room, often beside an Arlo doorbell they already own.
The first decision is what the camera must do next week. Live view works without Arlo Secure.
Best for
A drive you can cover with two battery cameras, if you will pay for Arlo Secure
One outdoor 2K camera at the lowest hardware price, once the monthly plan is priced
A pet room with a socket, using a corded indoor pan-tilt
Not ideal for
Free cloud history, or hub recording from an Essential pan-tilt
A new garden circuit for a floodlight, unless an electrician does the work in England
Mistakes to avoid
1
Reading detection as free
Person, vehicle, animal and package detection, activity zones and cloud history are Arlo Secure features. Live view is on the no-plan list. A storage cutoff after about a month is what a lapsed trial looks like.
2
Adding the three Pro 6 review counts
The two-, three- and four-camera Pro 6 kits each show 3.8 from 115 reviews. That is one file. Adding the counts to 345 overstates the sample. The monthly plan still changes whether reviewers call the kit good value.
3
Buying a pan-tilt for hub storage
Essential pan-tilt cameras cannot join a SmartHub. The outdoor pair and the indoor pair stay on a lead, and local clips need a separate hub that these boxes do not include. A 5 GHz-only phone is also the wrong setup path. Most of these cameras join on 2.4 GHz first.
What to weigh up
Plan and what you can still do
High
Score the job before the hardware. Live view, motion alerts, the siren, the spotlight and two-way audio sit on Arlo’s no-plan list. Cloud history, activity zones, and person, vehicle, animal and package detection are Arlo Secure features. A low shelf price does not win the value weight when those history features are treated as free.
Power and where it mounts
High
Power decides where you can mount the camera, and it is the second buying criterion. Corded packs in this set are the outdoor Essential 3 pan-tilt pair at £104.99, the indoor pan-tilt pair at £69.99 and the indoor fixed pair with a privacy cover at £58.49. Each of those stays on a lead. The pan-tilt models cannot pair with an Arlo SmartHub, so they are the wrong buy if you wanted hub clips. Reviewers of the outdoor pair praise tracking across a porch.
Which option suits you?
Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.
🚗
A drive with two cameras
You can cover the drive with two battery cameras, you want a spare battery in the box, and you will pay for Arlo Secure. The Pro 6 two-camera kit is £174.99, 2K, with three batteries and a dual charger. Activity zones are hard to find in the shared review file.
You want one outdoor 2K battery camera at the lowest hardware price, and you have already priced Arlo Secure. The Essential 2 is £49.99. The UK comments in the file are thin, and cloud history is not free.
You want a plug-in indoor pair that can follow a pet around one room. The Essential 3 indoor pan-tilt pair is £69.99. It will not pair with a smart hub, and the subscription warnings in the reviews are explicit.
The top pick is the Arlo Pro 6 two-camera kit (VMC4070P) at £174.99. It scores 84, the highest in this set, for two 2K battery cameras, three batteries and a dual charger. The shared reviews describe a driveway fitted in about 15 minutes. Choose it if you will pay for Arlo Secure. Leave it if one Essential can already see the path. The 3.8 from 115 reviews is the same file as the larger Pro 6 kits.
Which Arlo camera is best value?
Best value is the Essential 2 (VMC3050) at £49.99, the lowest shelf price here for one outdoor 2K battery camera. It is rated 4.0 from 68 reviews, with colour night vision listed to 8 metres, a siren, two-way audio and IP65. Only six of the first reviews are from the United Kingdom. Those comments say it is pointless unless you pay monthly. One unit lost about 60 percent of its charge in 12 hours.
How much does an Arlo camera cost on amazon.co.uk?
On 19 October 2026 the shelf prices run from £49.99 for the Essential 2 to £299.99 for the Pro 6 four-camera kit. Under about £80 you also get the indoor pairs at £58.49 and £69.99. Mid prices run from the floodlight at £99.99 to the Pro 6 two-camera kit at £174.99, including the HD three-pack at £141.31. The older 1080p three-pack is £247.68. Those figures are hardware only. The plan is not included.
Do you need Arlo Secure?
Live view does not need Arlo Secure. The UK plans page still lists motion alerts, live stream, siren, spotlight and two-way audio with no plan. Cloud history, activity zones, and person, vehicle, animal and package detection are plan features. Specialist pages in 2026 report about £7.99 a month for one camera and £11.99 for up to four. Confirm that in the app. Continuous recording starts at £12.99 per camera per month and needs mains power.
Can these packs record without the cloud?
Local storage needs a separate hub, VMB4540 or VMB5000. None of these packs includes a hub or an SD card. Arlo says a hub is not a substitute for cloud recording. Essential pan-tilt cameras cannot pair with a SmartHub, so the outdoor pair at £104.99 and the indoor pan-tilt pair at £69.99 cannot store clips on a hub. Do not buy a pan-tilt pack for hub history.
Should you choose a battery or a mains lead?
Use a lead when a socket is already by the mount. The indoor cameras and both pan-tilt pairs are corded. Use a battery when the eave is awkward to climb. Arlo’s average, under three minutes of clips a day, is about four months for a standard Essential battery, about 16 months for the XL and about nine months for Pro 6. A busy road is shorter. One XL unit needed three charges in 19 days.
What if the lens sees the street?
If the lens stays on your own hall or garden, data protection usually stays in the household exemption. If it sees a pavement or a neighbour, the ICO says UK GDPR applies: a real reason, a narrower view and a sign. Consent is rarely the basis, and the ICO will not remove the camera. Filming staff is outside that exemption. Ask a landlord before you drill.
Is an Arlo doorbell on this page?
This page does not rank doorbells. A doorbell file was taken out of the camera set. If the bell is the job, use the Arlo doorbell comparison, then add a camera here if you still need another view. Owners who already had an Arlo doorbell reported a simple setup on the Essential 3 HD three-pack at £141.31. That pack is HD, with one charging cable for three cameras.
Our verdict
The top pick is the Arlo Pro 6 two-camera kit at £174.99. It has the highest score in this set, 84, for two 2K battery cameras with spare batteries, if you will pay for Arlo Secure. Best value is the Essential 2 at £49.99, the lowest shelf price for one outdoor 2K camera, after a thin UK review file and a fast-drain note. A 4.3 on 28 or 32 reviews does not outrank that 2K kit. The three Pro 6 star lines are one file of 115 reviews and are not added together. None of this is a lab test.
