Terminal block comparison 2026

The best terminal blocks, compared.

Top pick: HSEAMALL 12-way barrier sets Best value: Blackspur BB-CT110 3 A and 15 A – About £3.60 is the lowest shelf price with at least 1,000 reviews. The score keeps the deduction for stripped screws and cracked housings. Updated October 2026.

A terminal block on amazon.co.uk is not one product. In this aisle it is a cuttable screw strip, often called a choc block, a barrier strip with jumpers, or a lever splice filed under the same name. You are usually joining lighting flex, or busing low-voltage wires on a hobby layout. The current on the piece has to match the connector in the bag, and the screw or spring has to hold after a tug. Titles often list several amp ratings while the specification cell names only one. A bullet that runs from 3 A to 60 A does not mean the strip in your hand carries 60 A. A 3 A strip is not a socket-ring joint. Stars run from 3.9 to 4.8 where a review line exists. Nothing was laboratory tested, and a CE cell is not a BS 7671 declaration. The [terminal block buying guide](/hub/diy-supplies/terminal-block/sub/terminal-block-buying-guide) sets current, conductor and enclosure before price.

The best terminal blocks in detail

HSEAMALL 12-way barrier sets

Rank 1

HSEAMALL 12-way barrier sets

∼£12

Our view

The HSEAMALL listing is five 12-way barrier sets with red and black jumpers at £11.99, and the current cell says 15 A. Across 817 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.8, the UK texts are mostly model-railway bus bars. In the first 50, complaints include missing covers, a brittle case that snapped, and one wrong-size strip. The voltage cell says 400 V and 600 V, and the title puts 600 V on the strip and 400 V on the jumpers. The bullet says one screw hole at each end and that the jumpers can be cut. The weight cell says 350 g. Those railway reviews do not show the strip on a 230 V ring final, and a snapped case is a reason to reject that set rather than tape it.

Pros

  • Five 12-way sets with jumpers, at £11.99
  • 4.8 from 817 reviews
  • Current cell says 15 A
  • Bullet says the jumpers can be cut and each strip has a screw hole at each end

Cons

  • UK reviews are mostly model-railway bus bars, not a ring final
  • Voltage cell prints both 400 V and 600 V
  • First 50 texts include missing covers, a snapped case and one wrong-size strip
  • No conductor size in the cells

Best for: A jumpered bus on a model railway or similar low-demand distribution, if you check the covers.

Less suitable: A 230 V ring final, or a case you would repair with tape.

Common questions

What current and voltage are printed?

The current cell says 15 A. The voltage cell says 400 V and 600 V. The title puts 600 V on the strip and 400 V on the jumpers.

How are the strips mounted?

The bullet says one screw hole at each end. The connector cell is Screw. The bullet says the jumpers can be cut.

What do UK reviews mostly describe?

Model-railway bus bars. In the first 50 texts, complaints include missing covers, a brittle case that snapped, and one wrong-size strip.

SDFIXINGS 12-way strip, 5 A cell

Rank 2

SDFIXINGS 12-way strip, 5 A cell

Our view

The second SDFIXINGS listing is two 12-way strips at £3.92, and the current cell says 5 A rather than 3 A. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.7 from 50 reviews, and all 12 stored texts are from the UK. Those texts call the screws precise and mention garden lights and light-duty wiring, and they do not describe a stripped screw or a split body. The bullets, the image URL, part number A58 and the rank line match the 3 A ASIN, including a spring-clamp line the connector cell does not support. The voltage cell says 300 V. No IP cell is printed, so a garden-light review is not an outdoor rating. Treat the 5 A cell as the only current this row adds, and do not add the 50 reviews to the 314 on the sibling.

Pros

  • Current cell says 5 A, at £3.92 for two strips
  • 4.7 from 50 reviews
  • 12 UK texts mention light-duty wiring and do not describe a stripped screw
  • Voltage cell says 300 V

Cons

  • Bullets, image and part A58 match the 3 A listing
  • Shared bullets still list 3 A to 60 A and a spring clamp
  • No IP rating, despite garden-light reviews
  • No conductor size in the cells

Best for: Light-duty wiring where you can read a 5 A cell and you will not treat the photo as unique.

Less suitable: Anyone adding these 50 reviews to the 3 A file, or fitting the strip outdoors.

Common questions

How does this differ from the 3 A SDFIXINGS listing?

The current cell says 5 A and the title ends in Pack 2, 5A. The bullets, image URL, part number A58 and rank line match ASIN B0D2PB529B.

What do the UK reviews say?

All 12 texts are from the UK. They call the screws precise and mention garden lights and light-duty wiring. They do not describe a stripped screw or a split body.

Is an outdoor rating printed?

No IP cell is printed. The voltage cell says 300 V and the specification-met cell says CE.

flintronic lever connectors

Rank 3

flintronic lever connectors

Our view

The flintronic lever splices are £7.98, with a title that says 34 pieces and a unit-count cell that says 50. Across 6,474 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.6, the first 50 texts praise the speed on ceiling fans and lights, and they also say some levers snap off and that a wire can pull out unless you tug it. The maximum-voltage cell says 250 V. There is no current cell, and a 32 A figure appears only in a review, so it is not a listing rating. The title says 18–22 AWG, a bullet says solid 0.2–4 mm² and soft 0.08–2.5 mm², and the wire-diameter cell says 0.08 mm. The rank cell sits in Electrical Terminals & Kits, not Terminal Blocks. The review file is the largest in this set, and the grip is still something you check with a tug before you close the rose.

Pros

  • 4.6 from 6,474 reviews, the largest file in this set
  • UK texts describe ceiling fans and lights
  • Voltage cell says 250 V maximum
  • Singles that reviews say clip together

Cons

  • Title says 34 pieces; the unit-count cell says 50
  • Conductor size disagrees across the title, a bullet and the 0.08 mm cell
  • No current cell; 32 A appears only in a review
  • UK reviews say some levers snap and a wire can pull out unless tugged

Best for: Clip-together splices in a ceiling rose, if you tug every wire and you do not need a printed amp rating.

Less suitable: A buried joint, or anyone treating a reviewer’s 32 A remark as the listing rating.

Common questions

How many connectors are in the pack?

The title and a bullet say 34. The unit-count cell says 50.0 and the number-of-items cell says 1. The colour cell says 34PCS Grey.

What conductor size is printed?

The title says 18–22 AWG. A bullet says solid 0.2–4 mm² and soft 0.08–2.5 mm². The wire-diameter cell says 0.08 mm. There is no current cell. The maximum-voltage cell says 250 V.

The first 50 texts praise the speed on ceiling fans and lights. They also say some levers snap off and that a wire can pull out unless you tug it.

GTSE 3 A and 15 A strip pack

Rank 4

GTSE 3 A and 15 A strip pack

Our view

The GTSE pack is four white screw strips at £7.99, and the package line is two 3 A strips and two 15 A strips, while the current cell names only 15 A. Across 1,304 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.6, UK texts say the strips do the job and can be cut, and one says the screw heads on the small connectors were not formed properly. The voltage cell says 400 V, the body is polyethylene, and the bullet names galvanised steel screws and brass inserts from −15 °C to +80 °C. Contacts, poles and positions are 12, and the item count is 4, so the 12 is the ways on a strip rather than the number of strips. At this price it is the largest screw-strip review file that still prints both a 3 A pack line and a 15 A cell. You still have to read which strip you have cut off, because the cell alone does not describe the 3 A pieces in the same bag.

Pros

  • Package line names two 3 A strips and two 15 A strips
  • 4.6 from 1,304 reviews, and UK texts say the strips can be cut
  • Voltage cell says 400 V
  • Bullet names galvanised screws and brass inserts, −15 °C to +80 °C

Cons

  • Current cell says 15 A only, so it hides the 3 A strips in the pack
  • No conductor size in the cells
  • One UK review says the screw heads on the small connectors were poorly formed

Best for: A household screw-strip kit when you will separate the 3 A pieces from the 15 A pieces before you fit them.

Less suitable: A tight rose that needs a lever, or a single current you can read from the cell alone.

Common questions

Is every strip 15 A?

The package line is two 3 A strips and two 15 A strips. The current cell says 15 A only. Contacts, poles and positions are 12, and the item count is 4.

What voltage and material are printed?

The voltage cell says 400 V. The material cell says polyethylene. The bullet names captive screws in galvanised steel and brass inserts, from −15 °C to +80 °C.

What do UK reviews say about the screws?

In the first 50 UK texts, many say the strips do the job and can be cut. One says the screw heads on the small connectors were not formed properly.

Brackit 3 A to 15 A strips

Rank 5

Brackit 3 A to 15 A strips

Our view

The Brackit set is clear screw strips at £6.41, and a bullet says one each of 3 A, 5 A, 10 A and 15 A, while the included-components cell says three strips per size. Across 608 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.6, most of the first 50 UK texts praise the selection for light fittings. One says the 10 A and 5 A pieces look almost the same, and another says the screws are awkward. The current cell says 15 A and the voltage cell says 600 V. The connector cell says Screw, and a bullet also says tool-free. Contacts and the unit count are 144, and the number-of-items cell is 4. The size range is why people buy it, and you still have to tell the lookalike 5 A and 10 A pieces apart before they go into a fitting.

Pros

  • Bullet names 3 A, 5 A, 10 A and 15 A strips, at £6.41
  • 4.6 from 608 reviews
  • UK texts praise the selection for light fittings
  • Voltage cell says 600 V

Cons

  • Bullet says one strip per size; the included cell says three per size
  • A bullet says tool-free while the connector cell says Screw
  • UK reviews say the 5 A and 10 A pieces look almost the same
  • Current cell says 15 A only

Best for: Light fittings when you want several amp sizes in one clear-strip pack and you will count the pieces.

Less suitable: A buyer who needs the box count to match the bullet, or a lever in a tight rose.

SDFIXINGS 12-way strip, 3 A cell

Rank 6

SDFIXINGS 12-way strip, 3 A cell

Our view

The SDFIXINGS 12-way strip, at £3.86 for two pieces, is the listing whose current cell says 3 A, while the shared bullets also run through 5 A, 15 A, 30 A and 60 A. Across 314 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.6, UK texts say the strip splits into single connectors and is small enough to sit behind a socket. The connector cell says Screw, and a bullet says spring clamp, so the clamp type is not settled by the page. One review says screws were missing and the rest stripped on the first turn. The voltage cell says 300 V, the body is polycarbonate, and the weight cell says 30 g. The image URL and part A58 match the 5 A ASIN, so those two files are not independent photographs. A 3 A cell is the figure to plan around, and a stripped screw is the reason to stop and use another piece.

Pros

  • Current cell says 3 A, at £3.86 for two 12-way strips
  • 4.6 from 314 reviews
  • UK reviews say the strip splits into single connectors
  • Voltage cell says 300 V

Cons

  • Shared bullets also list 3 A to 60 A and a spring clamp
  • One review: screws missing, the rest stripped on the first turn
  • Same image and part A58 as the 5 A listing
  • No conductor size in the cells

Best for: A small 3 A screw joint behind a socket, if you ignore the 60 A bullet and check every screw.

Less suitable: A ring final, or any job that needs the spring clamp the bullet mentions.

Common questions

What current does this listing state?

The current cell says 3 A. The shared bullets also list 3 A, 5 A, 15 A, 30 A or 60 A, and 300 V / 10 A. The connector cell says Screw, while a bullet says spring clamp.

Do the screws need a tool?

Yes. The connector cell is Screw. UK reviews describe tightening screws. One review says screws were missing and the rest stripped on the first turn.

Can you cut this strip?

The bullets do not say so. UK reviews say it splits into single connectors and is small enough to fit behind a socket.

ZFYQ 35-piece lever splice set

Rank 7

ZFYQ 35-piece lever splice set

Our view

The ZFYQ set is 35 orange lever splices at £5.99: 15 two-port, 15 three-port and 5 five-port, with a voltage cell of 250 V and no current cell. The bullet states solid and stranded conductors from 0.08 to 2.5 mm² and flexible conductors from 0.08 to 4 mm², and it says the splice locks without tools. Across 220 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.6, six of the first 50 texts are from the UK, and those six mention ceiling lights and a ceiling fan in a tight space without stating a fault. The contacts, poles and positions cells are all 35, which copies the piece count rather than a circuit rating. A temperature-range cell is printed as 1.5E+2 °C, so that figure is not a usable limit. The 250 V cell and the millimetre range are the lines you can check; the missing amp cell is the line you cannot.

Pros

  • 35 pieces at £5.99: 15 two-port, 15 three-port, 5 five-port
  • Conductor bullet states 0.08–2.5 mm² solid or stranded and 0.08–4 mm² flexible
  • Voltage cell says 250 V
  • Six UK texts in the first 50 mention ceiling lights and do not state a fault

Cons

  • No current cell
  • Only six of the first 50 review texts are from the UK
  • Temperature cell is printed as 1.5E+2 °C
  • Contacts, poles and positions all copy the piece count of 35

Best for: A tight ceiling rose when you need a printed millimetre range and can accept a missing amp cell.

Less suitable: A job that needs a marked current, or a joint you intend to bury.

Six of the first 50 texts are from the UK. They mention ceiling lights and a ceiling fan in a tight space. Those six texts do not state a fault.

JZK barrier strips with combs

Rank 8

JZK barrier strips with combs

Our view

The JZK pack is barrier strips with red and black combs at £6.99, and the bullet lists two each of the 4-, 5- and 6-position blocks TB-1504, TB-1505 and TB-1506. The current cell says 15 A. The title prints 600 V / 400 V and the voltage cell says 400 V, so the cell is the single figure. Across 21 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.6, one UK text says very good, a Canada text describes 24 V AC from a furnace, and a Netherlands text says it does what it should, and none of those three states a fault. The unit count is 6 and the number-of-items cell is 5. The cover is stated as not flame retardant. One UK sentence is not a house-wiring record, and the combs are the reason this row exists.

Pros

  • Two each of 4-, 5- and 6-position blocks, with red and black combs
  • Current cell says 15 A, at £6.99
  • Voltage cell says 400 V
  • The three stored texts do not state a fault

Cons

  • Only one UK review text, against a listing count of 21
  • Title also prints 600 V
  • Unit count 6 versus a number-of-items cell of 5
  • Cover stated as not flame retardant

Best for: A small barrier block with link combs, if one UK sentence is enough evidence for you.

Less suitable: House wiring you would justify from a large UK review file.

Blackspur BB-CT110 3 A and 15 A

Rank 9

Blackspur BB-CT110 3 A and 15 A

Our view

The Blackspur BB-CT110 is £3.60, and the bullet says two 3 A strips and two 15 A strips in polyethylene, while the current cell says 15 A only. Across 1,043 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.5, the first 50 UK texts say the price is low and the strips can be cut. The same sample says screws strip or spin, housings crack, and several parcels arrived as loose strips rather than on the header card. No voltage cell is printed. Contacts are 8, poles are 2 and positions are 248, which does not describe one strip. The colour cell says black, and the material cell says polyethylene. The £3.60 is the low price beside a four-figure review count, and a cracked housing is a piece you replace rather than tighten again.

Pros

  • £3.60 for a bullet that names two 3 A and two 15 A strips
  • 4.5 from 1,043 reviews
  • UK texts say the strips can be cut
  • Material cell says polyethylene

Cons

  • UK reviews say screws strip or spin and housings crack
  • Several parcels arrived as loose strips, not on the header card
  • No voltage cell
  • Positions are 248, contacts are 8 and poles are 2

Best for: A low-priced 3 A and 15 A mix when you will bin any piece whose screw spins or whose body cracks.

Less suitable: A joint that has to hold what the 15 A bullet suggests, or a fitting you cannot reopen.

XINXINGDINGSHENG 30 A strip pair

Rank 10

XINXINGDINGSHENG 30 A strip pair

Our view

The XINXINGDINGSHENG pair is two 12-way screw strips at £3.19, the lowest price in this set, and the current cell and the title say 30 A. There is no voltage cell, and the specification-met cell says Energy Rating, which does not name an electrical standard. Across 19 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.1, all 7 stored texts are from the UK. Some say they are cheap and do the job. Others say the brass splits, the plastic shreds and exposes metal, and that they would not put 30 A through them. The bullet says you can cut the strip with scissors or a knife, and it also says both tool-free and tighten the screws. The £3.19 buys the strip, and the split brass is the reason the printed 30 A is not a current you should plan to use.

Pros

  • Lowest shelf price in this set, £3.19 for two 12-way strips
  • Current cell and title both say 30 A
  • Bullet says the strip can be cut
  • All 7 stored texts are from the UK

Cons

  • UK reviews say the brass splits and the plastic shreds to expose metal
  • Reviewers say they would not put 30 A through them
  • No voltage cell; specification-met says Energy Rating
  • 4.1 from 19 reviews, and a bullet says both tool-free and tighten the screws

Best for: A spare strip only if you will not load it to the printed 30 A and you can return split brass.

Less suitable: Any joint you would size from the 30 A cell, or a listing you need a voltage from.

All 7 texts are from the UK. Some say they are cheap and do the job. Others say the brass splits, the plastic shreds and exposes metal, and that they would not put 30 A through them.

LTMMC 3 A, 5 A and 10 A strips

Rank 11

LTMMC 3 A, 5 A and 10 A strips

Our view

The LTMMC listing is six screw strips at £4.99, and the bullet says two each of 3 A, 5 A and 10 A, while the current cell says 10 A. The amazon.co.uk line is 3.9 from 30 reviews, the lowest stars in this set, and all 10 stored texts are from the UK. Those texts say the screws cross-thread and the blocks twist in the case, and one buyer paid £6.45 to return a faulty unit. No voltage cell is printed. Contacts are 5 while poles and positions are 12, and the included-components cell says NO against a bullet that says six pieces. The material cell says nylon, and a bullet says the strip is about 10 mm. The mixed amp bullet is the useful part of the page, and the cross-threaded screws are why the 3.9 is not a rounding error.

Pros

  • Bullet names two each of 3 A, 5 A and 10 A, at £4.99
  • All 10 stored texts are from the UK
  • Material cell says nylon
  • Bullet says the strip can be cut

Cons

  • 3.9 from 30 reviews, with cross-threaded screws and blocks that twist
  • One buyer paid £6.45 to return a faulty unit
  • No voltage cell
  • Included-components cell says NO, and contacts are 5 against 12 positions

Best for: Only if you need the 3 A, 5 A and 10 A mix and you will reject any screw that cross-threads.

Less suitable: A joint you cannot easily revisit, or a listing you need a voltage cell from.

Funver 30 A 12-way strips

Rank 12

Funver 30 A 12-way strips

Our view

The Funver listing is a white 12-way strip at £4.99, and the title says a 5-pack at 30 A while the included-components cell says 3 pieces and the number-of-items cell is 3. The current cell says 30 A. A bullet says 400 V, and there is no voltage cell. The connector cell says Through Hole, while the bullet describes a screw choc block in polyethylene with brass. The weight cell says 30 g. No customer-reviews line and no review texts are in the capture, so there is no star rating and no UK complaint or praise to weigh. The gauge cell says 33 with no unit. At £4.99 you are buying a count and a clamp type the page does not agree with itself about.

Pros

  • Current cell says 30 A
  • A bullet says 400 V and that the strip can be cut
  • Weight cell says 30 g

Cons

  • No customer-reviews line and no review texts in the capture
  • Title says a 5-pack; the included cell says 3 pieces
  • Connector cell says Through Hole; the bullet describes a screw choc block
  • No voltage cell, and the gauge cell is 33 with no unit

Best for: Nobody in this set, until a later capture adds a star line and an agreed piece count.

Less suitable: Any joint you would choose from reviews, or a 30 A load you would take from an unreviewed page.

What current and voltage are stated?

The current cell says 30 A. A bullet says 400 V. There is no voltage cell. The connector cell says Through Hole, while the bullet describes a screw choc block.

Are there reviews on this capture?

No customer-reviews line and no review texts are in the file, so this capture has no star rating and no review count to quote.

How we compared

For this comparison we scored twelve amazon.co.uk terminal-block listings checked on 16 October 2026. A terminal block here may be a cuttable screw strip, a barrier strip with jumpers, or a lever splice. The score uses the star line, review volume, whether the listing agrees with itself, stored UK review texts, and the shelf price in GBP. Deductions cover multi-amp bullets, stripped screws, split brass, cracked bodies, levers that snap, a shared image, a single UK text, and a missing review line. There was no laboratory joint test. A CE cell is not a BS EN 60998 declaration.

1

Amazon stars

35%

The amazon.co.uk star average is scaled to a 35-point cap. No star line scores 0. The star line is not the editorial total.

2

Review volume

25%

5,000 or more reviews score 25. Bands then step down through 700, 250, 50 and 20 reviews. Under 20 reviews scores 2, and no reviews score 0.

3

Listing clarity

20%

Points for one current figure, one voltage figure, one consistent mm² range, a connector cell that matches the bullets, and a pack count that matches the title. A clash scores less, or zero on that part.

4

UK review sample

10%

Stored UK texts that describe a job score up to 6. A further 4 applies when that sample does not repeat stripped screws, split brass, cracked bodies, cross-threads or snapped levers.

5

Price

10%

The shelf price is scored against the review count. A large file under £4 scores higher than a dearer pack. A missing current cell reduces the price points.

Terminal block buying guide

Start with the type, then the current on the piece you will actually fit, then the conductor, then where the joint will sit. Price is last. A screw strip, a barrier strip and a lever splice can share a search term and still be the wrong part. Read the specification cell rather than a title that lists 3 A through 60 A. One conductor per hole unless the maker says otherwise. No pack here prints an IP rating. UK mains are 230 V, and you prove the circuit is dead before you open a rose.

What is a terminal block?

A terminal block in this UK aisle is a cuttable screw strip, often called a choc block, a barrier strip with jumpers, or a lever splice that amazon.co.uk files under the same name. Shoppers use them to join lighting flex or to bus low-voltage hobby wires. They are not the same product, and a title that says terminal block does not tell you which family is in the bag. Screw choc strips are most of this set, and you cut them between ways.

Best for

  • Replacing a connector on an existing light, outside a bathroom zone
  • A model-railway bus bar, if you do not copy that use onto a ring final

Not ideal for

  • A new circuit, a consumer unit, or a bath or shower zone
  • Outdoor use, a buried joint, or a 230 V ring final

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Trusting a multi-amp title

A title that lists 3 A through 60 A is not the rating of one strip. Read the current cell for the piece in the bag. A 3 A strip is not a ring-final joint.

  2. 2

    Two wires under one screw

Put one conductor in each hole unless the maker says otherwise. Overtightening until the brass splits is a reason to replace the piece, not to tighten it again.

  3. 3

Tape, outdoors, or a bathroom zone

HSE says not to repair a cable with tape or an unsuitable connector. No listing here prints an IP rating. Work around a bath or shower can be notifiable in England.

What to weigh up

Type, current and conductor

High

The first cut is the family. A screw strip you cut, a barrier strip with link combs, and a lever splice are not interchangeable, even when amazon.co.uk files them all as terminal blocks. Screw strips here are SDFIXINGS, GTSE, LTMMC, Brackit, Blackspur, XINXINGDINGSHENG and Funver. Barrier strips are JZK and HSEAMALL. Lever splices are ZFYQ and flintronic. Use the current cell for the piece in the bag, not every number in a shared bullet.

Enclosure, reviews and price

High

The strip is not the enclosure. No listing in this set prints an IP rating, so outdoor use is not supported, and a garden-light review is not an outdoor rating. Work around a bath or shower can be notifiable in England even when the same repair in a bedroom is not. These products are not a junction box, and they are not a joint you bury. UK review texts matter because the same faults repeat. Stripped screws come up on SDFIXINGS, LTMMC, the small GTSE pieces and Blackspur.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Existing light, outside a bathroom

You are replacing a connector on an existing light, outside a bathroom zone, and you will separate the pieces before you fit them. The GTSE pack states two 3 A strips and two 15 A strips, with 4.6 from 1,304 reviews, at about £7.99. The current cell names only 15 A. One review found a poor screw head on the small connectors.

Model-railway bus bars

You want jumpers for a low-voltage hobby bus, not a 230 V ring final. HSEAMALL is five 12-way barrier sets at about £11.99, with a 15 A cell and 4.8 from 817 reviews. The UK texts are mostly model-railway bus bars, and the sample includes a snapped case and missing covers.

Lowest price with a large review file

You want the lowest shelf price in this set that still has at least 1,000 reviews, and you will bin a piece whose screw spins or whose body cracks. Blackspur BB-CT110 is about £3.60, with 4.5 from 1,043 reviews. The bullet names two 3 A and two 15 A strips. No voltage cell is printed.

Common questions about terminal blocks

Which terminal block is the top pick in 2026?
The top pick here is the GTSE pack of four white screw strips, about £7.99, with 4.6 from 1,304 amazon.co.uk reviews. The package line is two 3 A strips and two 15 A strips, while the current cell names only 15 A. The voltage cell says 400 V. UK texts say the strips can be cut. One review found a poorly formed screw head on the small connectors. This is not a laboratory test and not a BS 7671 approval.
How much does a terminal block cost on amazon.co.uk?
On the listings checked for this page, not a live price on 15 October 2026, the twelve packs run from about £3.19 to about £11.99. Entry prices are about £3.19 to £4.99, including Blackspur at about £3.60 and the SDFIXINGS pairs near £3.86 and £3.92. Mid packs sit about £5.99 to £7.99, including GTSE at about £7.99. HSEAMALL is about £11.99, a parts price rather than a DIN-rail terminal. Prices on amazon.co.uk move.
What should you check before you buy a terminal block?
Read the type first: a cuttable screw strip, a barrier strip with jumpers, or a lever splice. Then read the current cell for the piece in the bag, not every amp figure in a shared bullet. Put one conductor in each hole unless the maker says otherwise, and check a millimetre range where one is printed. The strip is not an enclosure, and none of these listings prints an IP rating. Stripped screws, split brass and snapped levers show up in the UK review texts.
Does a title that lists 3 A to 60 A mean the strip carries 60 A?
No. A title or bullet that lists 3 A through 60 A is a catalogue line, not the rating of the strip in the bag. SDFIXINGS bullets mention that span while the cells say 3 A on one listing and 5 A on the other. GTSE’s cell says 15 A while the pack also contains 3 A strips. A 3 A strip is not a ring-final joint. A common UK socket ring is protected at 32 A, as a rule of thumb, not a printed figure.
When is electrical work notifiable in England?
In England, Approved Document P (2013) makes a new circuit, a replacement consumer unit, or work in a special location notifiable. A special location includes around a bath or shower, and a room with a pool or sauna heater. Other repairs are not notifiable, and they still have to be safe. A non-notifiable repair is not outside Part P. That England list is not the law in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. Prove the circuit is dead before you open a rose.
Can you use these terminal blocks outdoors?
No. No listing in this set prints an IP rating, so outdoor use is not supported. A garden-light review on the 5 A SDFIXINGS listing is not an outdoor rating. These strips are not a junction box, and they are not a maintenance-free joint you can bury. HSE says not to repair a cable with tape or an unsuitable connector. If the body cracks or the brass splits, replace the piece rather than tightening it again.
When should you call an electrician?
Call a registered electrician for a new circuit, a consumer unit, a bath or shower zone, scorched cables, or any job where you cannot prove the circuit is dead. Replacing a connector on an existing light, outside a bathroom zone, is the job these small strips and lever splices are sold for. Model-railway reviews do not show a barrier strip on a 230 V ring final. Plug-in mains protection is a different product: see the surge protector comparison.
Which terminal block is the best value?
The best value in this set is the Blackspur BB-CT110 at about £3.60, with 4.5 from 1,043 reviews. The bullet says two 3 A strips and two 15 A strips. The current cell says 15 A only, and no voltage cell is printed. UK texts say the strips can be cut, and they also say screws strip or spin and housings crack. The cheaper XINXINGDINGSHENG pair, about £3.19, has split brass in the UK texts and only 19 reviews.

Our verdict

The top pick is the GTSE pack: four white screw strips at about £7.99, package line two 3 A and two 15 A, 4.6 from 1,304 reviews, and a 400 V cell. The current cell still says 15 A only, and one review found a poor screw head on the small connectors. The best value is Blackspur BB-CT110 at about £3.60, with 4.5 from 1,043 reviews, the lowest shelf price here with at least 1,000 reviews. The score keeps the deduction for stripped screws and cracked housings. The cheaper XINXINGDINGSHENG pair has split brass and 19 reviews. None of this is a laboratory test or a BS 7671 approval.
