You searched for a gas boiler because the radiators or the hot water need replacing. A UK gas boiler for that job is a fixed condensing appliance: a combi, a system boiler, or a regular heat-only boiler. Three units are wall-mounted for home hot water. The other eight are portable or outdoor showers. That is not the price of these listings. If the house needs radiators, ask three Gas Safe registered engineers for quotes. The [gas boiler buying guide](/hub/hot-water/gas-boiler/sub/gas-boiler-buying-guide) sets out when this shelf is the wrong purchase. This page ranks the eleven heaters that are listed: fuel and pressure, stated flow, whether a fixed unit needs a Gas Safe install, and whether the star line is a shared review file. The three usual types are a combi, a system boiler, and a regular heat-only boiler. A combi has no cylinder and can struggle when two bathrooms run together. A system boiler needs a cylinder but not a cold loft tank. Which? points a one-bathroom flat toward a combi. Published kilowatt tables disagree, and many homes need under 10 kW for space heating, so the size is a heat-loss survey.

You searched for a gas boiler because the radiators or the hot water need replacing. A UK gas boiler for that job is a fixed condensing appliance: a combi, a system boiler, or a regular heat-only boiler.

The best gas boilers in detail

Camplux BW158BC 6 L with rain cap

Rank 1

Camplux BW158BC 6 L with rain cap

∼£220

Our view

The Camplux BW158BC is a 6 L/min, 12 kW outdoor propane or butane shower at £219.99, with a rain cap in the box. The included kit lists a propane regulator with a 150 cm hose, described as 37 mbar for a 27 mm clip-on, plus a shower head with a 150 cm hose. Ignition is 3 V, the weight is 5.1 kg, and the bullets tell you to drain residual water, though the spec block gives no minimum outdoor temperature. Across 518 amazon.co.uk ratings at 4.4, the first 50 review headers in the review file are United Kingdom, and this file is not the shared Gasland block. UK reviewers describe daily use for months, including dog washing, a family of six using it for three weeks during a bathroom renovation, and nearly a year of frequent use once the flame sensor was cleaned. One review reports an internal joint leaking on first setup, and the next day that unit would only give cold water. The flame sensor can shut the gas off until it is cleaned, and a reviewer who wanted a different bottle found the supplied regulator was for the collar in the bullets. For an outdoor shower with its own UK review file, this is the top pick in the set.

Pros

  • 6 L/min and 12 kW, with a rain cap and a 37 mbar regulator in the box
  • 4.4 from 518 ratings, in a UK review file of its own
  • UK reviews cover dog washing and a three-week bathroom renovation
  • Propane or butane when the regulator matches the bottle

Cons

  • An internal joint leaked on first setup in one UK review
  • Flame sensor can shut the gas off until it is cleaned
  • Supplied regulator is for the 27 mm clip-on in the bullets
  • Gas-pressure cell says 8 bar, beside the 37 mbar regulator

Best for: Outdoor showers, dog washing, and short renovation cover, where a rain cap and a matching 27 mm propane clip-on are what you need.

Less suitable: Radiators, a different cylinder collar, or a buyer who cannot accept a first-setup leak in the review file.

Common questions

Can it be used in cold weather?

The listing asks that. The spec block does not give a minimum outdoor temperature. The bullets tell you to drain residual water.

Does it need batteries?

The voltage line is 3 V. The included list does not name batteries.

Is it for outdoor use?

Yes. The style is outdoor installation, and the box includes a rain cap. The bullets still say it is a propane or butane water heater, not a house boiler.

Camplux BW528B 20 L/min LPG

Rank 2

Camplux BW528B 20 L/min LPG

∼£380

Our view

The Camplux BW528B is the largest outdoor unit in the set, at £379.99, with a claimed 20 L/min and 40 kW. The bullets name a 128 mm vent, a maximum of 85°C, and butane at 28–30 mbar or propane at 37 mbar with the matching regulator. Ignition is two D cells, there is no mains connection in the bullets, and the included list has the heater, a G1/2 water connector, an installation kit, and a shower head with a 150 cm hose, without a pump. The case is about 44 cm wide and 70 cm high, at 13.5 kg. Across 19 amazon.co.uk ratings at 4.4, four UK reviews in a file of 12 texts call it well built, describe a steady adjustable flow in a camper conversion, and mention off-grid hot water in a motorhome. One UK review says Camplux customer service let the buyer down. A Spanish review in the same small file says two buttons arrived broken and the seller replaced them. Nineteen ratings cannot support a house-boiler claim, and the seller’s figure of 40 percent energy saving in ECO mode is not a result we tested.

Pros

  • Highest stated flow in the set, 20 L/min and 40 kW
  • UK reviews describe a camper conversion and a motorhome
  • 128 mm vent named in the bullets
  • No mains connection; two D cells on the listing

Cons

  • Only 19 ratings on amazon.co.uk
  • £379.99, and a UK review faults customer service
  • Two buttons arrived broken in one review, then were replaced
  • No pump in the box, and the ECO saving is a seller claim

Best for: A large outdoor wall heater for a garden, RV, or tiny house, if you can live with 19 ratings.

Less suitable: A surveyed combi, a pump-fed bucket, or anyone treating 4.4 from 19 ratings as a large-sample test.

Common questions

Can it be used in a caravan?

The title says garden shower, RV, and tiny house. UK reviews mention a camper and a motorhome. The bullets also say caravan, campsite, poolside, cabin, and barn.

What gas does it use?

Butane at 28–30 mbar or propane at 37 mbar, with the matching regulator. The gas nut is G1/2 inch.

Does it need mains electricity?

No. The bullets say two D cells and no mains.

Gasland BG300NG 11 L/min natural gas

Rank 3

Gasland BG300NG 11 L/min natural gas

∼£178

Our view

The Gasland BG300NG is an indoor wall-mounted water heater at £178.49, listed for natural gas at 20 mbar, with 11 L/min and 22 kW on the same page. The bullets require professional installation and a 110 mm flue, with at least 50 cm of straight flue before a bend, and the included line is screws, so the flue is not in the box. The listing’s 4.2 from 947 ratings shares its review text with the GS318NG and the BG264, and only nine of the first 50 headers are United Kingdom. Inside that shared block, a UK note describes an 11 L unit that needed cupboard space in a mobile home in Wales, and another says a gas engineer looked at a unit used as a shower in an outdoor building. Shared complaints cover a flue the buyer could not find locally, spark failure unless the batteries are disconnected and reconnected while water is flowing, and a leaking gas valve with support described as silent. Those faults cannot be assigned to this ASIN alone, because the file also names a GS318NG and a portable camping setup. It is a mains-gas hot-water heater for a Gas Safe install, and the A+ cell is not an England Boiler Plus certificate.

Pros

  • 20 mbar natural gas, with 11 L/min and 22 kW on the same listing
  • Bullets name a 110 mm flue and professional installation
  • 2-year warranty on the listing
  • Lower shelf price than the propane BG264 when the home is on mains gas

Cons

  • Review file is shared with the GS318NG and the BG264
  • Flue is not in the box; the included line is screws
  • Shared text reports spark failure and a leaking gas valve
  • A+ on the listing is not a Boiler Plus certificate

Best for: A mains-gas tap supply at 20 mbar, where a Gas Safe engineer will fit the 110 mm flue the box does not include.

Less suitable: Radiators, a propane bottle, or anyone treating the shared 947-review file as a test of this model alone.

Common questions

Can this be used in a small flat?

The listing asks that question. The bullets describe an 11 L/min natural-gas water heater for home use, with a 110 mm flue and professional installation. They do not say it heats radiators. Minimum water pressure is not stated.

Does it need professional installation?

Yes. The bullets say professional installation is required, with a 110 mm flue and at least 50 cm of straight flue before a bend.

What gas does it use?

Natural gas (methane) at 20 mbar only, on the title and the bullets. It is not the propane listing.

Gasland GS318NG 12 L/min natural gas

Rank 4

Gasland GS318NG 12 L/min natural gas

∼£152

Our view

The Gasland GS318NG is the lowest-priced indoor listing in the set, at £151.99, for 12 L/min and 24 kW of natural gas at 20 mbar. The bullets include a 220–240 V cable, 150 cm long, and they recommend a licensed installer. The spec line lists low-water-flow protection, an LED display, error codes, frost protection, overheat protection, and flame detection. The efficiency cell says “Wysoki”, which is not an A–G ErP letter, and the spec block does not give a flue diameter. Its 4.2 from 947 ratings is the same shared file as the BG300NG and the BG264, so a one-line “easy to install” review is not a separate test of this model. One review in that block praises a GS318NG by name for home hot water, while another describes a portable camping setup that may belong to a different unit. Included components are not stated. The word “sealed” on the title does not make this a system boiler for radiators.

Pros

  • Lowest indoor shelf price, £151.99, at 12 L/min and 24 kW
  • 20 mbar methane, with a 220–240 V cable listed
  • Bullets recommend a licensed installer
  • Safety line names low-flow, frost, overheat, and flame detection

Cons

  • Efficiency cell says Wysoki, not an ErP band
  • Flue diameter is not in the spec block
  • Same shared review file as the BG300NG and the BG264
  • Warranty and included components are not stated

Best for: You want the lowest indoor shelf price for 20 mbar hot water, and a licensed installer will specify the flue.

Less suitable: Anyone reading “sealed” as a system boiler, or anyone who needs an ErP letter rather than the word Wysoki.

Can it be wall mounted?

The mount type is wall, and the bullets describe a wall-mounted indoor unit.

What safety features are listed?

The spec line lists low-water-flow protection, an LED display, error-code indication, frost protection, overheat protection, and flame detection.

Gasland BG264 10 L/min propane

Rank 5

Gasland BG264 10 L/min propane

∼£250

Our view

The Gasland BG264 is the indoor propane water heater at £249.99, listed at 10 L/min and 22 kW for 30/37 mbar LPG. Ignition is battery powered, and the bullets say a mains connection is not required. Professional installation and a 110 mm flue are required in the bullets, and the included components are screws. It weighs 9.98 kg and the listing states a 2-year warranty. The 4.2 from 946 ratings sits on the shared Gasland review file, and the image file name matches the natural-gas BG300NG. A bullet says battery ignition can suit a mobile home, which is seller wording rather than a park-home approval. Put it only on a 30/37 mbar propane supply, after a Gas Safe engineer has installed the flue that the box does not contain.

Pros

  • Propane at 30/37 mbar, with 10 L/min and 22 kW together
  • Battery ignition, so the bullets do not require mains
  • Professional installation and a 110 mm flue are in the bullets
  • 2-year warranty on the listing

Cons

  • £249.99, and the flue is not included
  • Review text is shared with the natural-gas Gasland listings
  • Image file name matches the BG300NG
  • Maximum water temperature is not in the spec block

Best for: A 30/37 mbar propane supply for indoor hot water, with a Gas Safe install and a flue bought separately.

Less suitable: A mains-gas meter, or a buyer who thinks the shared photo with the BG300NG proves which gas is in the box.

Common questions

Can it be used in a mobile home?

The listing asks that. A bullet says battery ignition avoids a mains connection and can suit a mobile home. That is seller wording, not a park-home approval.

Does it need mains electricity?

The bullets say the burner is propane and ignition is battery powered, so a mains connection is not required.

What is the maximum water temperature?

The spec block does not state a maximum water temperature.

Gasland BE158BP60 6 L with pump

Rank 6

Gasland BE158BP60 6 L with pump

∼£184

Our view

The Gasland BE158BP60 is a portable propane shower at £183.99 with a stated 6 L/min and a 6 L 12 V pump in the box. Two D cells for ignition are not included, and neither is the 5–15 kg LPG cylinder. The spec line lists 37 kW beside the 6 L/min bullet, and the pressure cells list both 30 millibars and 30,000 millibars, so the kilowatt figure cannot be read as a boiler output. Across 798 amazon.co.uk ratings at 4.1, UK reviews describe a van-door mount with fast hot water, an outdoor shower beside a hot tub, and a camper that got water well above 40°C. The same file calls the pump almost pressureless and says the heat kept climbing until it was described as scalding. One reviewer reported a pipe that burst inside after winter in a camper, even though they said they had drained it. A UK review also found the regulator and brass adaptors missing compared with the photo. It is an outdoor or van shower, and the freeze report is a reason to treat winter storage as a real risk.

Pros

  • 12 V pump, regulator, and shower head listed in the box
  • 4.1 from 798 ratings, with van and hot-tub use in UK reviews
  • One camper review reports water well above 40°C
  • 2-year warranty on the listing

Cons

  • 37 kW spec line conflicts with the 6 L/min bullet
  • Pump described as almost no pressure, and heat described as scalding
  • A pipe burst after winter storage in a camper review
  • Regulator and brass adaptors missing versus the photo in one UK review

Best for: A van or outdoor shower where a 12 V pump is in the box and you will drain it before a frost.

Less suitable: Winter storage in a camper, a buyer who needs a stable temperature, or anyone using the 37 kW cell as a boiler size.

Common questions

Can it be used in a caravan?

The title and bullets name RV, camping, and caravan use. UK reviews describe van and camper mounting. That is not a statement that it is certified for a habitation gas system.

Does it need mains electricity?

Ignition is two D batteries, not included. The pump is 12 V. A mains connection is not listed.

Is the gas cylinder included?

No. The bullets say a 5–15 kg LPG cylinder is not included.

Camplux AY132B 5 L portable

Rank 7

Camplux AY132B 5 L portable

∼£150

Our view

The Camplux AY132B is the lowest shelf price in the set, at £150.44, for a portable propane shower listed at 5 L/min and 10 kW. The box includes a 37 mbar regulator with a 150 cm hose, an installation kit, a shower head with a 150 cm hose, and two water connectors. Ignition is 3 V DC, the stated maximum water temperature is 65°C, and the case is about 29 cm wide by 37.6 cm high at 4.54 kg. Across 201 amazon.co.uk ratings at 4.1, UK reviews use it as a horse wash and describe it running from a camper door with the opening clear. One reviewer found it powerful enough that they turned the temperature down. A flimsy plastic connector between the hose and the shower head cracked, another unit failed after storage, and a buyer had to change the supplied regulator to fit the bottle they already had. The gas-pressure cell says 7.5 bar, which reads as a water figure beside the 37 mbar regulator in the box. It is the best value in this set when the job is a portable outdoor shower and you can match the regulator.

Pros

  • Lowest shelf price in the set, £150.44
  • 37 mbar regulator, shower head, and connectors in the box
  • UK reviews use it for horse washing and from a camper door
  • 5 L/min and 10 kW agree, with a stated 65°C maximum

Cons

  • Plastic hose connector cracked in a UK review
  • One unit failed after initial use and storage
  • Supplied regulator did not match the bottle the buyer already had

Best for: A portable horse wash or camper-door shower at the lowest shelf price, if the 37 mbar regulator matches your cylinder.

Less suitable: A house that needs radiators, a buyer who needs a rain cap, or a cylinder collar the supplied regulator does not fit.

The bullets name flame-failure protection, overheat protection, and an oxygen-depletion shutoff, plus a drain plug.

Gasland G10 Pro 10 L with pump

Rank 8

Gasland G10 Pro 10 L with pump

∼£200

Our view

The Gasland G10 Pro is the pump version of the same outdoor range, at £199.99, with bullets for 10 L/min and 20 kW. The title allows butane at 28–30 mbar or propane at 37 mbar, and the included line says Pump. The bullets say two D batteries are not included, and the voltage line is 3 V. The depth field shows 330.2 mm, which matches the bullet width rather than a separate depth. Weight on the spec line is 11.9 kg, and the listing states a 2-year warranty. The 4.0 from 328 ratings, and the bestseller rank, match the G10 file, and the review text is shared with the 3 L/min G3 Pro. A 3 L/min sentence in that shared file is not this listing’s flow. Choose it when you need the pump the plain G10 does not list, and treat the star line as one shared file rather than a second test.

Pros

  • Pump is the included component, unlike the plain G10
  • Bullets state 10 L/min and 20 kW together
  • Butane at 28–30 mbar or propane at 37 mbar on the title
  • 2-year warranty on the listing

Cons

  • Same shared review file as the 3 L/min G3 Pro
  • Two D batteries are not included
  • Depth field repeats the 330.2 mm width
  • Bestseller rank numbers match the G10 listing

Best for: You specifically want the pump the plain G10 does not list, on 28–30 mbar butane or 37 mbar propane.

Less suitable: Anyone who wants a separate UK test of a 10 L/min heater, or who has not bought two D batteries.

Gasland G10 10 L portable

Rank 9

Gasland G10 10 L portable

∼£168

Our view

The Gasland G10 is a portable outdoor LPG heater at £167.99, titled for butane at 28–30 mbar or propane at 37 mbar. The bullets claim up to 10 L/min and 20 kW, while the heat-output spec cell says 6,824 British Thermal Units, which is not the same claim. The included-components line is screws, the voltage line is 3 V, and batteries are not listed in the box. The spec weight is 9.1 kg, and the bullets describe a folding handle and a case of about 330 x 150 x 470 mm. The 4.0 from 328 ratings is a review file shared with the G3 Pro and the G10 Pro. One UK review in that file describes a 3 L/min unit, so that sentence must not be used as this model’s flow. A 2-year warranty is on the listing, and the part-number field is the word Update. Use it as an outdoor shower only if you already own a matching regulator and you set aside the conflicting heat cell.

Pros

  • Bullets name 10 L/min and both butane and propane pressures
  • Folding handle and a slim case of about 330 x 150 x 470 mm
  • 2-year warranty on the listing
  • Shelf price £167.99, below the pump models

Cons

  • 6,824 BTU spec cell conflicts with the 20 kW bullet
  • Included line is screws, not a regulator or a shower
  • Review file is shared, including a 3 L/min comment
  • Part-number field is the word Update

Best for: An outdoor LPG shower only if you already own a matching regulator and you ignore the 6,824 BTU cell.

Less suitable: A reader who takes the shared 3 L/min review as this model’s flow, or who expected a regulator in the box.

Gasland G3 Pro 6 kW portable

Rank 10

Gasland G3 Pro 6 kW portable

∼£289

Our view

The Gasland G3 Pro is an outdoor propane or butane shower at £288.99, with a bullet flow of 3 L/min and a 6 kW output that agrees with that flow. The bullets say the burner stops at 50°C and restarts below 45°C, and the material field states 28–30 mbar butane or 37 mbar propane. Accessories in the bullets include a gas regulator, a water pump, a shower head, and a 12 V cable, with power from a 4,000 mAh battery or 12 V. Weight does not agree with itself: the spec line says 9.86 kg and a bullet says about 6.2 kg. The 4.0 from 327 ratings shares review text with the G10 and the G10 Pro, and only three of 34 headers in the file are United Kingdom. UK lines in that shared file describe a hot camping shower and an easy outdoor setup, including a 3 L/min comment that fits this model better than the 10 L listings. At £288.99 you are buying a small camping flow, and the file is not a separate house-boiler test.

Pros

  • 3 L/min and 6 kW agree, unlike the G10 heat cell
  • Bullets list a pump, regulator, shower head, and 12 V cable
  • Burner stop at 50°C is stated
  • 2-year warranty on the listing

Cons

  • £288.99 for a stated 3 L/min
  • Spec weight 9.86 kg disagrees with a bullet of about 6.2 kg
  • Review file is shared with the 10 L G10 listings
  • Only three UK headers in that shared file of 34

Best for: A short camping shower at 3 L/min, if you accept £288.99 and a weight line that disagrees with itself.

Less suitable: A household that wants 10 L/min, or a reader treating the shared file as a unique test of this model.

Rank 11

Camplux Nano 3 Pro 3 L/min with pump

∼£360

Our view

The Camplux Nano 3 Pro is a 3 L/min portable heater at £359.99, with a 12 V submersion pump in the box. The wattage line says 6 kW, while the heat-output field says “100 Degrees Celsius”, so that cell is not a power figure. Power is a 4,000 mAh battery or a 12 V cigarette-lighter cable, 500 cm long, and the bullets say charging power must be 12 V. The supplied regulator is a 27 mm propane clip-on with a 150 cm hose; the bullets allow butane only if you fit a different regulator. The stated water range is 28–50°C at a 22 K rise, and the case is about 17 cm wide. Across 194 amazon.co.uk ratings at 4.0, UK reviews praise a small camper after the regulator was changed, and one buyer used a replacement unit for a camping week after the first unit failed. Another unit stopped heating above about 14°C and would not charge from 12 V, and a shower-head clip was too weak to hold the head. Customer-service replies about spare parts were slow in one UK review, which is a lot of money for 3 L/min if the first unit has to be swapped.

Pros

  • 12 V pump, 250 cm shower hose, and a 500 cm 12 V cable in the box
  • UK reviews include camper use after a regulator change
  • Stated range 28–50°C at a 22 K rise
  • Distinct review file, separate from the shared Gasland block

Cons

  • £359.99 for a stated 3 L/min
  • Heat-output cell says 100 Degrees Celsius
  • Supplied 27 mm regulator did not fit a 21 mm cylinder
  • A unit stopped heating above about 14°C and would not charge from 12 V

Best for: A compact camper shower at 3 L/min, once the regulator collar matches and you have a 12 V supply.

Less suitable: A 21 mm cylinder used with the supplied 27 mm regulator, or a buyer paying £359.99 for a house boiler.

Common questions

Can it be used with butane?

The bullets say propane or butane if you use the matching regulator. The regulator in the box is for a 27 mm propane clip-on, not for butane.

Does it come with a pump?

Yes. The included list has a 12 V submersion water pump.

Is it easy to set up?

The bullets describe battery or 12 V power, a pump, and a shower hose. UK reviews say the first home test was straightforward and that the regulator may still need changing.

How we compared

We compared eleven instantaneous gas water heaters filed on amazon.co.uk. None is a combi, system, or regular boiler. The score uses the star line, review volume, whether the listing agrees with itself, the stated job, and the shelf price. A shared review file is not treated as a separate test. There was no laboratory test and no heat-loss survey. Deductions for a leak, a conflicting kilowatt cell, a thin sample, and similar faults sit outside the 100 points below.

1

Star rating

30%

Up to 30 points from the amazon.co.uk star line: stars divided by five, times 30. The editorial score is not the star rating times 20.

2

Review volume

20%

Up to 20 points from the rating count. A review file shared with other ASINs is capped, so a large shared count does not win an award on its own.

3

Listing consistency

20%

Up to 20 points when fuel and pressure are named without a second conflicting gas figure, flow and kilowatts describe the same appliance, and a regulator, shower, or pump is actually in the box.

4

Stated job

15%

Up to 15 points for the job the listing actually states. An indoor unit with a named flue and a professional-install line scores above a screws-only portable. Nothing scores full marks, because nothing heats radiators.

5

Shelf price

15%

Up to 15 points from the captured amazon.co.uk shelf. Under £160 scores highest in this set. £300 and above scores lowest. The bands are these listings, not a market survey.

Gas boiler buying guide

A gas boiler for radiators is a surveyed combi, system, or regular boiler. The eleven amazon.co.uk listings here are instantaneous gas water heaters, from £150.44 to £379.99. Three are indoor flued Gasland units. Eight are portable or outdoor LPG showers. Use the notes below to see which job you actually have, then match fuel, flow, and who may install a fixed unit. Prices are captured shelf prices, not a live check.

What is a gas boiler?

A UK gas boiler that heats radiators is a fixed condensing appliance. The three usual types are a combi, a system boiler, and a regular heat-only boiler. A combi has no cylinder and can struggle when two bathrooms run together. A system boiler needs a cylinder but not a cold loft tank. A regular boiler needs both. Which? points a one-bathroom flat toward a combi. Published kilowatt tables disagree, and many homes need under 10 kW for space heating, so the size is a heat-loss survey.

Best for

  • A 20 mbar mains-gas tap supply, with a Gas Safe engineer fitting the flue
  • Camping, a van, or a horse wash on propane or butane, with a matching regulator

Not ideal for

  • Radiators, a combi, a system boiler, or a regular boiler
  • Anyone treating a shared review file or an A+ cell as a Boiler Plus certificate

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Reading boiler as a combi

These eleven listings are instantaneous gas water heaters. A combi, a system boiler, and a regular boiler are a different purchase. None of the kept pages says it feeds radiators.

  2. 2

    Mixing natural gas and propane

BG300NG and GS318NG are 20 mbar methane only. BG264 is 30/37 mbar propane. Portables are typically 37 mbar propane or 28–30 mbar butane. The regulator has to match the cylinder.

  3. 3

Assuming the flue and the reviews are included

Several indoor boxes list screws, not a flue. BG300NG, GS318NG, and BG264 share review text. An A+ cell, or the word Wysoki, is not an England Boiler Plus certificate.

What to weigh up

Job, fuel and stated flow

High

Radiators need a surveyed combi, system, or regular boiler. None of these listings says it feeds a heating circuit. A published kilowatt table is not a heat-loss survey. If the job is taps or an outdoor shower, stay with these eleven heaters. Fuel comes next. BG300NG and GS318NG are 20 mbar methane only. BG264 is propane at 30/37 mbar. Portables are typically propane at 37 mbar and butane at 28–30 mbar. Liquid Gas UK notes that some caravans use 30 mbar for both.

Who installs, and what the reviews actually are

High

Fixed gas work in a home, including the appliance and the final connection, is for a Gas Safe registered engineer. HSE allows a non-registered person to do wet work on pipes and radiators, not the appliance, and a registered engineer must not sign off unregistered gas work. The BG300NG bullets require a 110 mm flue, and the box contains screws. The GS318NG does not state a flue diameter. Use each listing’s own Customer Reviews line.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Mains-gas hot water

The home is on natural gas at 20 mbar and you want a wall-mounted water heater, not radiators. The Gasland BG300NG is listed at £178.49, 11 L/min and 22 kW, and the bullets require a Gas Safe install and a 110 mm flue that the box does not include. The shared 4.2 from 947 ratings is not a test of this model alone.

Indoor propane, off the mains

There is no mains-gas meter, and the supply is propane at 30/37 mbar. The Gasland BG264 is the indoor propane listing at £249.99, 10 L/min and 22 kW, with battery ignition. The flue is not in the box, and the review text is shared with the natural-gas Gasland units.

Camping, van, or horse wash

You want an outdoor or portable LPG shower, not a heating boiler. The Camplux BW158BC is the top pick at £219.99: 6 L/min, a rain cap, and 4.4 from 518 ratings in its own UK review file. Match the 37 mbar regulator to the cylinder, and drain it before a frost.

Common questions about gas boilers

Which listing is the top pick if I searched for a gas boiler?
For an outdoor shower, the top pick in this set is the Camplux BW158BC at £219.99. It is listed at 6 L/min and 12 kW, with a rain cap and a 37 mbar regulator in the box, and 4.4 from 518 amazon.co.uk ratings in its own review file. It does not heat radiators. One UK review reports a leak on first setup. A house that needs a combi should get Gas Safe quotes.
How much does a gas boiler cost?
The eleven heaters here were filed from £150.44 to £379.99. Entry listings sit around £150.44 to £183.99. Mid-range is £199.99 to £288.99. The Nano 3 Pro is £359.99 and the BW528B is £379.99. Energy Saving Trust’s typical Great Britain figure for a G-rated to A-rated gas boiler replacement, including thermostatic radiator valves, is £3,500. That is not a price for these heaters.
What should I check before I buy?
Check the job first. None of these listings says it feeds radiators. Then match the gas. BG300NG and GS318NG are 20 mbar natural gas. BG264 is propane at 30/37 mbar. Portables are typically propane at 37 mbar and butane at 28–30 mbar. Read the stated flow literally, and do not merge a conflicting kilowatt cell. Fixed gas work in a home is for a Gas Safe registered engineer. The regulator has to match the cylinder.
Are any of these a combi, system, or regular boiler?
No. A combi has no cylinder and can struggle when two bathrooms run together. A system boiler needs a cylinder but not a cold loft tank. A regular boiler needs both. Which? points a one-bathroom flat toward a combi. None of the eleven listings is any of those types. They are instantaneous gas water heaters. A fitted heating boiler is a different purchase, sized by a heat-loss survey, because published kilowatt tables disagree.
Who is allowed to install a fixed gas water heater?
Fixed gas work in a home, including the appliance and the final connection, is for a Gas Safe registered engineer. HSE allows a non-registered person to do wet work on pipes and radiators, not the appliance, and a registered engineer must not sign off unregistered gas work. Check the ID card for the appliance and the gas. The overview line is 0800 408 5500. Stop if you suspect the appliance is unsafe.
Should I buy natural gas or LPG?
Buy the fuel already on site. Do not cross them. BG300NG and GS318NG are 20 mbar methane only. BG264 is propane at 30/37 mbar. Portables are typically propane at 37 mbar and butane at 28–30 mbar. Liquid Gas UK notes that some caravans use 30 mbar for both. The regulator must match the cylinder. A cell of 7.5 bar or 8 bar on a portable reads as water pressure beside a 37 mbar regulator.
Does an A+ cell on the listing meet Boiler Plus?
No. England Boiler Plus, from April 2018, is mandatory for the boiler work it covers: at least 92% ErP, time and temperature controls, and one extra measure on a combi, with no opt-out. An Amazon efficiency cell, including A+ or the word Wysoki on the GS318NG, is not that certificate. These listings are not combis. Replacing a heating boiler is a surveyed job, not a cell on one of these pages.
Can I trust a 4.2 from about 947 reviews?
Not as three separate tests. BG300NG, GS318NG, and BG264 share review text. G3 Pro, G10, and G10 Pro share another file, including a 3 L/min comment. BW158BC has its own UK review file. A 4.4 from 19 ratings on the BW528B is a thin sample. For a neighbouring hot-water page, see the gas water heater comparison.

Our verdict

The Camplux BW158BC is the top pick in this set for an outdoor shower: £219.99, 6 L/min and 12 kW, a rain cap in the box, and 4.4 from 518 amazon.co.uk ratings in its own UK review file. It is not a combi. The Camplux AY132B is the best value at £150.44, with a 37 mbar regulator in the box and a 5 L/min flow that matches the 10 kW line. The cheaper indoor GS318NG loses that award because its reviews are shared and the box contents are unstated. If you need radiators, neither award is a heating boiler.
