Hanging plant comparison 2026

The best hanging plants, compared.

Top pick: SSB two-pack faux ivy Best value: Der Rose eucalyptus, one pot – Lowest price here with a stated pot and a review count in the thousands: about £8.99 and 4.2 from 2,826. Updated 21.10.2026.

Peter F.Editor

A hanging plant is a faux trailing pack: plastic stems in a small pot, or a vine sold without one, meant to spill off a shelf. A live pothos, ivy or spider plant is a different purchase. You separate the packs by piece count, whether a pot is included, the trail length in the bullets, and whether the page says before you try it in sun. UK reviews mostly find them convincing across a room and plastic close up, with a smell that often fades and pots light enough to tip. The Royal Horticultural Society says a bathroom with no windows is not suitable for live plants. How that room changes the choice is covered under [hanging plants in a bathroom](/hub/houseplants/hanging-plant/sub/hanging-plant-bathroom). Names such as pothos, eucalyptus, fern, ivy and string of pearls are leaf shapes, not species. What to read on the listing before you compare the ten packs is set out in the [hanging plant buying guide](/hub/houseplants/hanging-plant/sub/hanging-plant-buying-guide). RHS guidance also says, the live pothos, is toxic. Faux plastic is not that plant and is not a chew toy. If a pet chews a live ivy or a live pothos, call a vet.

The best hanging plants in detail

SSB two-pack faux ivy

Rank 1

SSB two-pack faux ivy

∼£10

Our view

The SSB two-pack is two lightweight plastic faux ivy pieces at £9.99, with 5.0 from 10 reviews, and the bullets do not state a drop or a pot. The dimension line is 10 × 15 × 65 cm, and the listing asks whether a hanging basket is included without answering. All eight UK reviews in the file are positive about looks and ease of arranging, and none describes a smell, a break or a missing part. The usage field says indoor, the bullets name balconies, and there is no UV line. The parcel is 450 g. A score of 5.0 from ten ratings does not outrank a 4.2 from hundreds, because the sample is too small to show the failures other packs already record. Buy it only if you can accept an unknown pot, and look elsewhere if the hanger has to be known before you pay.

Pros

  • Two faux ivy pieces at £9.99
  • Eight UK reviews, all positive about arranging
  • Dimension line includes a 65 cm height
  • 450 g parcel

Cons

  • 5.0 from only 10 reviews
  • Pot and drop are not stated
  • Indoor usage field, with no UV line, while balconies are named

Best for: You want two ivy-style pieces to arrange yourself and can check the pot on arrival.

Less suitable: You need a known pot, a stated drop, or a review file larger than ten ratings.

Common questions

Does the SSB pack include a pot or basket?

The bullets do not say. The listing asks whether a hanging basket is included and does not answer.

Can it go outside?

The usage field says indoor. The bullets name balconies. There is no UV line. One UK review mentions a garden.

What do the UK reviews say?

All eight UK reviews in the file are positive about looks and ease of arranging. None describes a smell, a break or a missing part. The score is 5.0 from 10 ratings.

HeeTeem two-pack

Rank 2

HeeTeem two-pack

∼£10

Our view

The HeeTeem two-pack is two plastic hanging plants at £9.99, listed at 4.6 from 8 reviews, and the bullets do not state a drop. The only dimension line is 60 × 20 × 40 mm, which cannot be the trail. One of the two UK reviews says they look real, are a decent size and have no smell. The other calls the leaves shiny, the stalks lumpy, one stem much longer, and the pot light. The usage field says indoor, with no UV feature, while the recommended-uses line mentions indoor and outdoor decoration, and a hang planter is listed. The parcel is 300 g. The star line looks strong because the sample is eight ratings, so skip it if you need a stated length or more than a couple of written UK reviews.

Pros

  • Two pieces at £9.99
  • Hang planter listed in the included components
  • One UK review reports no smell and a decent size
  • Parcel weight 300 g

Cons

  • 4.6 from only 8 reviews, with two UK texts
  • No drop in the bullets, and the size line is 60 × 20 × 40 mm
  • The other UK review calls the leaves shiny and the pot light

Best for: You are willing to judge two indoor pieces from a handful of reviews and a hang planter line.

Less suitable: You need a stated trail length, a UV line, or a review file you can trust.

Der Rose four-pack, mixed trails

Rank 3

Der Rose four-pack, mixed trails

∼£15

Our view

The Der Rose four-pack puts four plastic trails in black pots about 8.99 cm wide at the top, with stated drops of 20.1, 24.4, 31.5 and 33.9 inches, for £14.99. On amazon.co.uk it is 4.4 from 3,479 reviews, the largest file in this set. Across the first 50 UK reviews, buyers often keep two or three styles and call the fern, or another sprig, less realistic. Several mention a plastic smell or stems that come apart. The usage field says indoor and outdoor, and the bullets say the plastic is UV-resistant and waterproof, with no British Standard named. A hook is not stated, and the parcel weighs 992 g. It is the top pick here because four measured drops and that review count sit together, though you should expect one style to look weaker than the others.

Pros

  • Four stated drops from 20.1 to 33.9 inches
  • Black pots about 9 cm wide at the top
  • 4.4 from 3,479 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Usage field says indoor and outdoor, with a UV line

Cons

  • UK reviews often prefer two or three styles and call the fern weaker
  • Plastic smell and stems that come apart
  • UV-resistant and waterproof, with no British Standard named
  • A hook is not stated

Best for: You want four different trails, a pot that fits a narrow shelf, and the largest review file in this set.

Less suitable: You need four sprigs that look equally full, or a hook in the box.

Common questions

Does the Der Rose four-pack include pots?

Yes. The bullets say each black pot is about 8.99 cm at the top, 6.5 cm at the bottom and 8 cm high. A hook is not stated.

Can this four-pack go outside?

The usage field says indoor and outdoor, and the bullets say the plastic is UV-resistant and waterproof. No British Standard is named.

What do UK reviews say about the four styles?

Across the first 50 UK reviews, buyers often keep two or three styles and call the fern or one other sprig less realistic. Several mention a plastic smell or stems that come apart.

DREAMS 21 three-pack, white pots

Rank 4

DREAMS 21 three-pack, white pots

∼£10

Our view

The DREAMS 21 three-pack is three plastic hanging plants, each with one white flower pot, at £9.99, and amazon.co.uk shows 4.4 from 160 reviews. The bullets do not state a trail length. The dimension line is 8 × 20 × 65 cm, and the parcel weighs 600 g. Reviewers say the plants look better above eye level, because the stems entering the pot are not convincing, and that some pots tip under the leaf weight. A plastic smell is mentioned and often said to fade. The usage field says indoor, while the bullets say waterproof and name balconies and gardens, without a UV line, and a lifetime warranty is a listing field rather than a test result. It fits a shelf that wants three white pots at one price, and it is a poor fit if you need a measured drop or a pot that stands on its own.

Pros

  • Three plants, each with a white pot, at £9.99
  • 4.4 from 160 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Waterproof claimed in the bullets
  • 600 g for the parcel

Cons

  • No trail length in the bullets
  • Pots tip, and the stems into the pot look unconvincing from above
  • Indoor usage field against balcony wording, and no UV line

Best for: You want three white pots at £9.99 and will place them above eye level.

Less suitable: You need a stated drop, or a pot that will not tip on a narrow sill.

Common questions

Does each DREAMS 21 plant have a pot?

Yes. The bullets say each of the three comes with one white flower pot.

Is the three-pack outdoor?

The usage field says indoor. The bullets say waterproof and name balconies and gardens. UV resistance is not stated.

What do UK reviews say about the pots?

Reviewers say the plants look better above eye level, because the stems entering the pot are not convincing, and that some pots tip under the leaf weight. A plastic smell is mentioned and often said to fade.

DazSpirit mixed four-pack

Rank 5

DazSpirit mixed four-pack

∼£17

Our view

The DazSpirit mixed four-pack is two upright plants, in eucalyptus and rosemary styles, plus two hanging plants, in eucalyptus and pea-pod styles, at £16.99, so only half of it is a hanging plant. Amazon.co.uk shows 4.3 from 59 reviews. Pots are about 8 × 7.5 cm, grey paper pulp on the upright pair and black plastic on the hanging pair, while a listing line of 10 × 10 × 10 mm conflicts with that pot and is not a drop. The usage field says indoor, and the bullets do not claim UV resistance. One of the five UK reviews says they smell a bit funky and expects that to clear, and another calls them a little overpriced and obviously artificial. At 1.07 kg this is the heaviest parcel in the set. It suits an order that wants two desk plants and two trailers together, and it is the wrong pack if you wanted four hanging plants or a balcony.

Pros

  • Two hanging and two upright plants in one order
  • Pots about 8 cm, pulp on the upright pair
  • 4.3 from 59 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Listed as washable and lightweight

Cons

  • Only two of the four pieces hang
  • £16.99, the highest price in this set, with an indoor-only usage field
  • A 10 mm dimension line conflicts with the 8 cm pot
  • Five UK reviews mention a funky smell or an obviously artificial look

Best for: You want two desk plants and two trailers in one indoor order and can ignore the 10 mm size line.

Less suitable: You need four hanging plants, a stated drop, or anything for a balcony.

Der Rose eucalyptus, one pot

Rank 6

Der Rose eucalyptus, one pot

Our view

This Der Rose eucalyptus is one potted plant with vines about 24 inches long, in a matte black pot 3 inches high and 3.4 inches across the top, at £8.99. Amazon.co.uk shows 4.2 from 2,826 reviews. Reviewers call it realistic on a shelf or in a bathroom, and others say it looks cheap or unlike the photo. Some reviews describe a pair or an orange colour that this Green-1 Pack listing does not state. The bullets say the wall planter and hook are not included, while the included-components field also says container and hang planter, so you should not assume a hook arrives. The parcel is 227 g. It is the best value pick when you want one stated pot and a long review file at the lowest price here, and a poor fit if the hook had to be in the box.

Pros

  • One plant at £8.99 with a stated pot
  • Vines about 24 inches
  • 4.2 from 2,826 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Pot size given: 3.4 inches across the top

Cons

  • Bullets say the wall planter and hook are not included
  • Some reviews describe a pair or a colour this listing does not state
  • Others say it looks cheap or unlike the photo

Best for: You want one eucalyptus-style trailer, a known pot, and a large review file at £8.99.

Less suitable: You need a hook in the parcel, or a trail longer than about 24 inches.

Lafecuw two-pack, 100 cm

Rank 7

Lafecuw two-pack, 100 cm

∼£11

Our view

The Lafecuw two-pack is two green hanging plants in plastic pots, with vines the bullets put at 100 cm and about 190 leaves on each plant, 380 in total, at £10.99. Amazon.co.uk shows 4.2 from 758 reviews. Many of the first 50 UK reviews call them realistic at a distance or good in a hanger. Others call them tacky plastic, and some report broken stems or a smell that faded. The usage field says indoor, a patio is named in the copy, and water resistance is claimed without a UV line. The material-type field says iron and the container field says plastic, which the bullets do not resolve. The parcel is 454 g. Choose it when you want the longest stated drop in this set, and skip it if you need a UV sentence you can quote.

Pros

  • Vines stated at 100 cm, the longest drop in this set
  • Two plastic pots
  • About 380 leaves stated in total
  • 4.2 from 758 amazon.co.uk reviews

Cons

  • No UV line, and the usage field says indoor
  • Material field says iron; the bullets and the pot field say plastic
  • UK reviews include tacky plastic, broken stems and a smell that faded

Best for: You want a stated 100 cm vine in a plastic pot and can judge it from across the room.

Less suitable: You need a UV claim, or a material line that agrees with itself.

What is the pot made of?

The container material field says plastic. The material-type field says iron, and the bullets do not repeat that.

What do UK reviews say about realism?

Many of the first 50 UK reviews call them realistic at a distance or good in a hanger. Others call them tacky plastic, and some report broken stems or a smell that faded.

BTSD-home two-pack

Rank 8

BTSD-home two-pack

∼£10

Our view

The BTSD-home two-pack is two plastic hanging plants in pots at £9.59, with 4.2 from 54 reviews, and the bullets do not state a trail length. The model number contains 33.5in and the dimension line is 18 × 12 × 12 cm, so that code is not a measured drop. UK reviews describe small white pots: some sit on a shelf, and others say the foliage pulls the pot over unless it is stuck down or put in another holder. One review describes a smell strong enough that the buyer binned the pair. The features claim UV-resistant, water resistant and weather resistant, with no British Standard, and the listing does not clearly answer whether a hook is in the box. The parcel is 508 g. It is a low price for two pots only if you can weight them, and a weak buy if the length has to be known first.

Pros

  • Two pots at £9.59
  • 4.2 from 54 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • UV, water and weather lines on the features
  • Some reviewers sit them on a shelf without a hanger

Cons

  • Trail length is not in the bullets
  • Small white pots tip under the foliage
  • A smell led one buyer to bin the pair
  • Hook is not clearly answered

Best for: You want two small pots at the lowest two-pack price here and can sit them in a heavier holder.

Less suitable: You need a stated drop, or a pot that stays upright on its own.

Common questions

How long is the BTSD-home trail?

The bullets do not state a length. The model number contains 33.5in, and the dimension line is 18 × 12 × 12 cm.

Does it include a hook?

The listing does not answer that clearly. The included-components field says container and hang planter.

Do the pots stay upright?

UK reviews disagree. Some sit on a shelf. Others say the foliage pulls the small white pot over unless it is stuck down or put in another holder.

Der Rose pothos pair, white pots

Rank 9

Der Rose pothos pair, white pots

∼£11

Our view

The Der Rose pair is two plastic plants, about 34.25 inches and 32.68 inches, in white pots, at £10.99. Amazon.co.uk shows 4.1 from 543 reviews, the lowest star line among the larger files here. Reviewers often like one plant more than the other, and some say there is less foliage than the photos. Others call them realistic and easy to trim. The bullets do not mention a hanging string, and one UK review says none arrived even though the pictures suggested one. The usage field says indoor, while the features list UV-resistant, water resistant and weather resistant. The parcel is 480 g. It suits a shelf that wants two long trails in white, and it is a weaker buy if you counted on a string or on both sprigs looking equally full.

Pros

  • Two stated lengths, 34.25 inches and 32.68 inches
  • White pots
  • 4.1 from 543 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Reviewers say they are easy to trim

Cons

  • No hanging string in the bullets
  • One sprig often preferred over the other
  • Indoor usage field beside a UV and weather line

Best for: You want two long trails in white pots and can trim the thinner one.

Less suitable: You need a hanging string in the box, or two sprigs that match.

JISRKP two vines, no pot

Rank 10

JISRKP two vines, no pot

Our view

The JISRKP pack is two faux vines at 75 cm each, with five stems and 69 foliage clusters on each vine, and the title says Not Pot, at £8.99. Amazon.co.uk shows 3.7 from 27 reviews, the lowest stars in this set and a thin count. UK reviews describe vines in a vacuum bag with no pots. Several buyers say they expected pots from the pictures, found only vines, and sent the order back, even though the title already says Not Pot. The bullets say indoor and outdoor, with no UV line. The parcel is 170 g, the lightest here. The description is part of the contract, so the title counts when the photograph shows a finished planter. Use it when you already have pots and want two stated 75 cm vines, and do not buy it if the pot in the photo is what you are paying for.

Pros

  • Two vines stated at 75 cm
  • Five stems and 69 foliage clusters on each
  • 170 g, so it posts as a light parcel
  • Title states that a pot is not included

Cons

  • No pot, and UK reviews returned the order over that
  • 3.7 from 27 reviews
  • No UV line

Best for: You already own pots and want two 75 cm vines at £8.99.

Less suitable: You expected a planter in the box, or you judge a listing by the photograph alone.

How we compared

Scores use the ten amazon.co.uk listings kept in this comparison, the prices and star lines on those pages, and the review notes for the same ASINs. Shelf date 20 October 2026. This is not a laboratory test. A star average is not a realism test, and a UV-resistant or waterproof line without a named British Standard is not scored as balcony weathering. A 5.0 from fewer than 30 reviews is not scored as a top pick. Weights sum to 100. The highest score is the top pick. Best value is the lowest price in this set that still has a stated pot, a stated drop and a review count in the thousands, on a different ASIN.

1

Amazon evidence

35%

Star rating on amazon.co.uk, then a hard deduction when the count is under 30. A file of eight or ten written reviews does not outrank a file of hundreds. The Der Rose four-pack is 4.4 from 3,479. The SSB pack is 5.0 from 10 and does not win this block.

2

Listing fit

35%

A bullet drop you can measure, a pot the listing actually includes, and an indoor or outdoor line that does not fight the usage field. A millimetre carton line, a missing pot, or a hook the bullets exclude scores down. A model code that hides an inch length the bullets never state does not count as a drop.

3

Review outcome

20%

UK texts that name a bathroom, a snapped stem, a tip or a return score higher than three short compliments. A missing or tiny UK file scores little of this slice. Smell and mixed realism inside one pack stay in the notes.

4

Value

10%

Shelf price in GBP against a pot and a drop you can compare. The Der Rose eucalyptus at about £8.99, with a stated pot and 2,826 reviews, is the best value. £8.99 of vines with no pot does not win. £16.99 does not win on price when only two of four pieces hang.

Hanging plant buying guide

Choose the pot, the bullet drop and the UV wording before the star rating. A four-pack of plastic trails, one eucalyptus in a stated pot, and two vines sold without a pot are not the same purchase.

What is a hanging plant?

A hanging plant in this comparison is a faux trailing pack on amazon.co.uk: plastic stems in a small pot, or a vine sold without one, meant to spill off a shelf. Names such as pothos, eucalyptus, fern, ivy and string of pearls are leaf shapes, not species. A plant that must grow is not in this set. What to read on the listing before you compare the ten packs is set out in the [hanging plant buying guide](/hub/houseplants/hanging-plant/sub/hanging-plant-buying-guide).

Best for

  • A shelf or a windowless bathroom where you want a plastic trail and no watering
  • Pots you already own, if the title says the vine arrives without one

Not ideal for

  • A live pothos or ivy you expect to grow
  • A café escape route or a commercial ceiling, unless a fire-risk assessor has signed it off

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

Assuming a hook is in the box

A hook is included only when the bullets say so. The Der Rose eucalyptus says the wall planter and hook are not included. The four-pack does not state a hook. The Der Rose pair’s bullets do not mention a hanging string, and one UK review says none arrived.

  2. 2

    Reading UV-resistant as a certificate

No listing here names a British Standard for weathering. Waterproof is not the same claim as UV-resistant. DazSpirit’s usage field says indoor. Lafecuw claims water resistance and prints no UV line. An indoor field beside a UV line is a contradiction, not a balcony test.

Trusting a 5.0 from a handful of ratings

SSB is 5.0 from 10 reviews. HeeTeem is 4.6 from 8. A file under 30 ratings does not outrank 4.2 from 758 or 4.4 from 3,479. Judge a four-pack by the weaker sprig, and read a title that says Not Pot before you pay for the pot in the photograph.

What to weigh up

Pot, count and stated drop

High

Read the piece count, whether a pot is included, and the trail length in the bullets. The Der Rose four-pack is four trails with stated drops of 20.1, 24.4, 31.5 and 33.9 inches, in black pots about 8.99 cm at the top. The eucalyptus is one plant, vines about 24 inches, pot 3.4 inches across the top, and the bullets exclude the hook. Lafecuw states 100 cm vines in plastic pots. The Der Rose pair states 34.25 and 32.68 inches in white pots, and the bullets do not mention a string.

UV wording and review volume

High

Indoor or outdoor comes first, then the words UV-resistant. That line has no British Standard on these pages, and waterproof is a different sentence. The four-pack and the eucalyptus say indoor and outdoor and claim UV resistance and waterproofing. DazSpirit’s usage field says indoor. Lafecuw’s usage field says indoor, with water resistance and no UV line. The Der Rose pair’s usage field says indoor beside a UV and weather line.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Renter who will not water

You want several trails for a shelf and you will not keep a live plant alive. The Der Rose four-pack is the top pick: four stated drops, black pots about 9 cm wide, at about £14.99 with 4.4 from 3,479 reviews. UK reviews often prefer two or three of the styles.

Bathroom with no window

A live plant is a poor fit in a room with no window. The Der Rose eucalyptus is the best value: one stated pot, vines about 24 inches, at about £8.99 with 4.2 from 2,826 reviews. Reviewers mention a shelf or a bathroom. The bullets say the hook is not included.

You already own the pots

You want two stated vines and you will ignore a photograph that shows a planter. The JISRKP pack is two 75 cm vines at about £8.99, and the title says a pot is not included. It is 3.7 from 27 reviews, and several UK buyers returned it because they expected pots.

Common questions about hanging plants

Which hanging plant is the top pick?
The top pick is the Der Rose four-pack at about £14.99, rated 4.4 from 3,479 amazon.co.uk reviews. It scores 91 because four drops are stated, from 20.1 to 33.9 inches, and the black pots are about 9 cm wide. UK reviews often keep two or three styles and call the fern weaker, and some stems come apart. A hook is not stated. Best value is a different listing, the Der Rose eucalyptus at about £8.99, with 4.2 from 2,826 reviews.
How much does a hanging plant cost?
On these amazon.co.uk listings the shelf price runs from about £8.99 to £16.99. Entry is £8.99, either one Der Rose eucalyptus with a pot or two JISRKP vines with no pot. Mid runs from the BTSD-home pair at £9.59 to the Lafecuw and Der Rose pairs at £10.99. The Der Rose four-pack is £14.99. DazSpirit is £16.99, and only two of its four pieces hang. IKEA FEJKA hanging eucalyptus was £5 on 20 October 2026, so £16.99 is not a UK premium. These are listing prices, not a market average.
Does a hanging plant include a pot and a hook?
A pot is included only when the listing says so. The Der Rose four-pack includes black pots about 9 cm wide and does not state a hook. The eucalyptus bullets say the wall planter and hook are not included. JISRKP’s title says Not Pot, and UK reviews describe vines in a vacuum bag with no pots. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 11, goods must match the description. A photograph of a finished planter does not override a title that says the pot is absent.
Can these hanging plants go outside in the UK?
Only as far as the listing’s own words, and a UV line is not a British Standard. The Der Rose four-pack and the eucalyptus say indoor and outdoor, and they claim UV resistance and waterproofing with no standard named. DazSpirit’s usage field says indoor. Lafecuw claims water resistance and prints no UV line. The Der Rose pair’s usage field says indoor beside a UV and weather line. Waterproof is not a sun test. Do not treat any pack here as proven balcony weathering.
Are these hanging plants fireproof or safe if a pet chews them?
No listing in this set is fireproof, Class B, or a tested pet-safe chew. The Royal Horticultural Society says live Epipremnum is toxic, and the PDSA lists ivy. Faux plastic is not that living plant, and it is still not a chew toy. For a café or a workplace, the Fire Safety Order 2005 expects a fire risk assessment. Kent Fire and Rescue says keep artificial foliage off escape routes and away from flames. None of these pages cites BS 5852 or BS EN 13501-1.
When is a living plant the better buy?
Buy a living trailer when you have light and you will water. These ten listings are plastic décor, not plants that grow. The Royal Horticultural Society says a bathroom with no windows is not suitable for live plants, so a faux pack is the practical buy for that room. A living houseplant for a brighter spot is a different comparison, such as a snake plant. Call a vet if a pet chews live ivy or live pothos. Do not soak faux foliage.
Why does a five-star listing with ten reviews not win?
The SSB two-pack is 5.0 from 10 ratings, and the eight UK texts in the file are positive about looks. HeeTeem is 4.6 from 8. That sample is too small to show the snapped stems, smell and returns that larger files already record. This comparison deducts hard when the count is under 30. A 4.4 from 3,479, or a 4.2 from 758, outranks a perfect line from a handful of ratings. The SSB bullets also omit a pot and a drop.

Our verdict

The top pick is the Der Rose four-pack at about £14.99. It scores 91, the highest here, as four plastic trails in black pots about 9 cm wide, rated 4.4 from 3,479 reviews, with stated drops from 20.1 to 33.9 inches. UK reviews often prefer two or three styles, and some stems come apart. Best value is the Der Rose eucalyptus at about £8.99, a different ASIN, with a stated pot, vines about 24 inches, and 4.2 from 2,826 reviews. The bullets say the hook is not included. Skip the four-pack if you need four sprigs that look equally full. Skip the eucalyptus if the hook had to be in the box.
