Floor tiles comparison 2026

The best floor tiles, compared.

Top pick: FloorPops 12-in by 12-in Pink Daphne Vinyl Peel and Stick Floor Tiles (10 Tiles) Best value: YAYODS Grey Self Adhesive Floor Tile Vinyl Flooring, 40 Pack, 30x30cm – About £6.00 per square metre on a stated 3.6 m² pack at 1.3 mm, with more than 50 ratings. Weak glue and one slippery bathroom review are already deducted. Updated October 2026.

Floor tiles are peel-and-stick vinyl or PVC squares on amazon.co.uk, not porcelain from a tile shop. You use them as a weekend cover on a flat, dry indoor floor. The star line does not settle the adhesive. Judge a pack by the stated thickness, the coverage, whether reviewers can bond the backing, and whether the next box matches. A 40-piece 30 cm pack is 3.6 m² where the size and the count are stated. FloorPops is 10 sq ft, about 0.93 m². Ten percent extra for cuts is a rule of thumb, not a standard. These listings do not cite BS EN 14411, BS 5385-3:2024 or BS EN ISO 10582:2018, and none publish a pendulum value. The [floor tiles buying guide](/hub/flooring/floor-tiles/sub/floor-tiles-buying-guide) sets out coverage, thickness and adhesive risk without picking a winner. Wood-effect planks about 15 cm by 91 cm are a different product and sit outside this set. The room packs are 40 pieces: grey, black, grey marble-effect and grey wood-effect.

The best floor tiles in detail

FloorPops 12-in by 12-in Pink Daphne Vinyl Peel and Stick Floor Tiles (10 Tiles)

Rank 1

FloorPops 12-in by 12-in Pink Daphne Vinyl Peel and…

∼£14

Our view

The FloorPops Pink Daphne carton holds 10 vinyl squares of 12 in by 12 in and covers 10 sq ft, about 0.93 m², at £14.00. Across 4.6 from 595 amazon.co.uk ratings, reviewers describe a tack that is strong once the tile is down and still movable while they line the floral print up. The same reviews put these squares in bathrooms, en suites, halls and rental entrances, and say straight cuts are manageable with a knife or scissors. The listing says the tiles are water resistant and washable, with waterproof under special features, but the bullets never name a bathroom, and one review says it is too soon to judge a bathroom. Awkward cuts around a toilet, and spare tiles so the print meets, are the recurring complaints, and a few buyers still added spray adhesive. The listing states both a permanent adhesive and that the tiles are reusable, which the reviews do not settle. Thickness is not printed, the review file is the strongest in this set, and one carton still covers only a small room.

Pros

  • 4.6 from 595 amazon.co.uk ratings
  • Tack described as strong once placed and still movable while aligning
  • Bathroom, en suite, hall and rental entrance lays in the reviews
  • Straight cuts with a knife or scissors
  • 10 sq ft carton at £14.00

Cons

  • Carton covers only 10 sq ft, about 0.93 m²
  • Awkward cuts around a toilet, and spare tiles so the print meets
  • Listing says both a permanent adhesive and that the tiles are reusable
  • Thickness not stated, and a few buyers still added spray adhesive

Best for: You want the floral print in a small bathroom, en suite or hall, and you can buy extra cartons so the pattern meets.

Less suitable: You need more than about 0.93 m² from one carton, or a single adhesive claim and a printed thickness.

Common questions

How much floor does one carton cover?

The listing says 10 tiles and 10 sq ft, about 0.93 m². Each tile is given as 12 in by 12 in (30.5 cm). A whole room needs more than one carton.

Is the adhesive permanent or reusable?

The listing says both a permanent adhesive and that the tiles are reusable. Those lines are not reconciled. Reviews describe a tack that is strong once placed and still movable while you line the pattern up.

Do the reviews mention bathrooms?

The bullets do not name a bathroom. They do say water resistant and washable, and waterproof appears under special features. UK reviews include bathroom, en suite, hall, and rental entrance lays.

CYEER 40Pcs Vinyl Floor Tiles Self Adhesive, 30x30cm, Grey Marble Effect

Rank 2

CYEER 40Pcs Vinyl Floor Tiles Self Adhesive,…

∼£29

Our view

The CYEER grey pack is 40 self-adhesive vinyl squares, 30 cm by 30 cm and 1.3 mm, which comes to 3.6 m² if you multiply size by count, at £29.37 (about £8.16/m²). Across 4.4 from 150 amazon.co.uk ratings, reviewers describe an easy cut and lay on kitchen lino and on wood bathroom floors, and one pack covered a bathroom. Several buyers say they did not need the extra adhesive they had bought, and one summer-house review calls the tack enough. The listing includes bathrooms and says the tiles are waterproof and removable without residue, and it does not give a slip test. One reviewer calls them very shiny and would not use them in a bathroom or kitchen, and another reports bubbles after one day. Later boxes arrived a different shade, one box had damaged corners on 32 of 40 tiles, and some rooms still ran short of tiles. It is the top pick here on the 1.3 mm thickness, the 3.6 m² pack and 4.4 from 150 ratings.

Pros

  • 40 squares, 1.3 mm, about 3.6 m² at £29.37
  • 4.4 from 150 amazon.co.uk ratings
  • Easy cut and lay on kitchen lino and wood bathroom floors
  • Several buyers did not need the extra adhesive they bought
  • One pack covered a bathroom in a review

Cons

  • Very shiny; one reviewer would not use them in a bathroom or kitchen
  • Shade change between boxes
  • 32 of 40 tiles in one box had damaged corners
  • Some buyers still used spray or carpet glue, and one review reports bubbles after a day

Best for: You are covering about one bathroom or a kitchen on lino or wood, and you can live with a shiny marble effect.

Less suitable: You need several boxes of one shade, or you want a low-sheen floor in a wet room.

Common questions

Can these grey tiles go in a bathroom?

The listing includes bathrooms and says the tiles are waterproof. It does not give a slip test. One UK review would not choose them for a bathroom or kitchen because they are very shiny. Others did lay them in a bathroom.

What area does the pack cover?

The listing states 40 tiles at about 30 cm by 30 cm and 1.3 mm thick. Forty times 0.09 m² is 3.6 m². The pack text itself says a substantial area rather than printing 3.6 m².

Will the backing be enough on its own?

The listing says peel and stick, and that the adhesive gets stronger with foot traffic. Some reviews say extra spray was unnecessary. Others still bought spray or carpet glue, and one box arrived with many damaged corners.

CYEER 40Pcs Black Vinyl Flooring Tiles Self Adhesive

Rank 3

CYEER 40Pcs Black Vinyl Flooring Tiles Self Adhesive

∼£30

Our view

The CYEER black pack is 40 vinyl squares, about 30 cm by 30 cm and 1.3 mm, which is 3.6 m² by size times count, at £29.99 (about £8.33/m²). Across 4.3 from 97 amazon.co.uk ratings, some reviewers finished a lay in about an hour and report kitchen and hall installs with no lift. Those reviews also call the tiles easy to cut, and some call them thick and good value, while a kitchen reviewer treats them as waterproof. The listing includes bathrooms, says removal without residue, and claims a flame-retardant coating with no fire class, and it does not give a slip test. Other reviews say the adhesive fails on concrete, tile, wood and sealed plywood, and that spray adhesive also failed for one buyer. Tiles are called not straight, two packs arrived with different finishes, and tiles snapped, arrived broken, or transferred adhesive onto the face.

Pros

  • 40 squares, 1.3 mm, about 3.6 m² at £29.99
  • 4.3 from 97 amazon.co.uk ratings
  • Some lays finished in about an hour
  • Kitchen and hall installs with no lift reported
  • Easy to cut, and called thick by some buyers

Cons

  • Adhesive fails on concrete, tile, wood and sealed plywood in reviews
  • Spray adhesive also failed for one buyer
  • Tiles not straight, and two packs with different finishes
  • Soft or broken tiles, including adhesive transferred onto the face

Best for: You have a kitchen or hall of about one pack, and you can check the tiles and the tack before you commit the whole floor.

Less suitable: You are sticking them to concrete, existing tile or sealed plywood and you need the backing to hold on its own.

Common questions

Can the black tiles be removed later?

The listing says they are designed for removal without damaging the floor or leaving residue. Reviews do not confirm a clean lift. Several say the tiles would not stick in the first place.

Are they fire rated?

The listing says a flame-retardant coating and mentions commercial spaces. It does not give a fire class. Treat the sentence as a claim, not a classification.

What went wrong in the reviews?

UK reviews report adhesive that fails on concrete, tile, and wood, tiles that are not straight, two packs with different finishes, and tiles that snapped or arrived broken. Other reviews report an easy lay that stayed down.

AHAQU 40PCS Grey Wood Effect Floor Tiles Self Adhesive, 30x30cm, 3.6 m²

Rank 4

AHAQU 40PCS Grey Wood Effect Floor Tiles Self…

∼£30

Our view

The AHAQU pack is 40 grey wood-effect PVC squares, 30 cm by 30 cm, with a stated coverage of 3.6 m² at £29.99 (about £8.33/m²). Across 4.3 from 46 amazon.co.uk ratings, reviewers cut them with scissors and laid them over old flooring in a kitchen and a rented bungalow. Some buyers report plenty of stick, and one review calls them comfortable under bare feet. The listing claims a waterproof wipe-clean layer and peel-and-stick with no extra glue, and it does not print a thickness. The grey is called browner once laid, the wood print does not match from tile to tile, and boxes differ in colour and by about 1 mm in size. Reviewers also call the squares thin and flexible, and one buyer bought a tub of adhesive because earlier stick-on tiles had lifted.

Pros

  • Stated 3.6 m² pack at £29.99
  • 4.3 from 46 amazon.co.uk ratings
  • Cut with scissors in the reviews
  • Laid over old flooring in a kitchen and a rented bungalow
  • Some buyers report plenty of stick

Cons

  • Grey looks browner once laid, and the wood print does not match across tiles
  • Boxes differ in colour and by about 1 mm
  • Thickness not stated; reviewers call them thin and flexible
  • One buyer bought extra adhesive because earlier stick-on tiles had lifted

Best for: You are covering a rented kitchen or bungalow over the existing floor and a grey wood print is enough.

Less suitable: You need the grain to line up across tiles, or a thickness printed on the listing.

Common questions

Are these planks or square tiles?

The listing says square tiles, 30 cm by 30 cm, 40 pieces, 3.6 m², with a grey wood-effect print. They are not the long plank format.

How thick are they?

The specification block does not state thickness. Reviewers call them thin and flexible enough to cut with scissors. That is a review comment, not a millimetre measurement.

Do reviewers say the grey matches the photo?

One review says the ordered grey looks more brown once laid. Another says boxes differ in colour and by about 1 mm in size. Pattern match across tiles is also criticised.

YAYODS Grey Self Adhesive Floor Tile Vinyl Flooring, 40 Pack, 30x30cm

Rank 5

YAYODS Grey Self Adhesive Floor Tile Vinyl…

∼£22

Our view

The YAYODS pack is 40 grey vinyl squares, 30 cm by 30 cm and 1.3 mm, with a stated 3.6 m² at £21.59, about £6.00/m². Across 4.0 from 82 amazon.co.uk ratings, reviewers cut and lay them in bathrooms, including over existing lino, and several call the thickness decent for the price. One dog household reports no scratch marks, and the grey is called clean once it is down. The listing claims a waterproof, stain-resistant layer and an anti-slip surface, with no pendulum value, and it names both a concrete effect and grey marble. The adhesive is described as weak: reviewers added spray, grab adhesive or tape, and edges lift after days. One bathroom review calls them very slippery, some tiles are not square and overlap, and the print is described as scratches rather than marble. It is the best value in this set on price per square metre, with the stick as the limit.

Pros

  • Stated 3.6 m² at £21.59, about £6.00/m²
  • 1.3 mm thickness printed on the listing
  • 4.0 from 82 amazon.co.uk ratings
  • Bathroom lays over existing lino in the reviews
  • One dog household reported no scratch marks

Cons

  • Adhesive called weak; spray, grab adhesive or tape added
  • Edges lift after days
  • Very slippery in one bathroom review, despite the anti-slip line
  • Some tiles are not square, and the print is called scratches rather than marble

Best for: You want about 3.6 m² at about £6.00/m² and you are ready to add adhesive if the backing lets go.

Less suitable: You need the anti-slip line to hold in a wet bathroom, or the tiles to stay down on the backing alone.

Common questions

Does the listing prove the tiles are anti-slip?

The bullets claim an anti-slip surface and include bathrooms. No pendulum value is printed. One UK review says the tiles were very slippery in a bathroom. Other reviews say they look shiny but did not feel slippery.

Is the peel-and-stick backing enough?

The listing says you only remove the film. Several UK reviews added spray adhesive, grab adhesive, or tape because the backing was weak or edges lifted.

What do you get in the pack?

40 square vinyl tiles, 30 cm by 30 cm, stated thickness 1.3 mm, stated coverage 3.6 m², shelf price £21.59. Origin China. Residential grade is stated. Underfloor heating is not stated.

Tink Floor Tiles Self Adhesive, PVC Wall Tiles, Peel and Stick, Apricot, 30x30cm, 10 pcs

Rank 6

Tink Floor Tiles Self Adhesive, PVC Wall Tiles,…

∼£18

Our view

The Tink pack is 10 apricot PVC squares, 30 cm by 30 cm and 0.6 mm, covering a stated 0.9 m² at £17.90, about £19.89/m². The listing sells them for floors and walls, including a kitchen backsplash, and says you can cut them with scissors, reposition them, and later lift an edge with a spatula. It includes bathrooms, indoor only, and calls the surface water repellent, and it does not state a slip test. The colour line says apricot and also mixed colour, and the pack weight is 800 g. The amazon.co.uk listing has no customer-review block, so there is no star line and no check on whether the backing stays down. At 0.6 mm this is a thin floor-and-wall sheet, and one carton covers well under a square metre.

Pros

  • Stated 0.6 mm thickness and 0.9 m² coverage
  • Listing covers floor and wall, including a kitchen backsplash
  • Scissors cut; the listing says repositionable and removable with a spatula
  • Water repellent, with an indoor bathroom on the listing

Cons

  • No customer reviews and no star line on the listing
  • 0.6 mm, and only 10 tiles
  • About £19.89/m², the highest price per square metre in this set
  • Colour field says both apricot and mixed colour

Best for: You want about 0.9 m² of thin PVC on an indoor floor or a kitchen backsplash, and you can accept a listing with no reviews.

Less suitable: You need more than 10 tiles, or amazon.co.uk reviews before you order.

Common questions

Is this a floor tile or a wall sticker?

The title says floor tiles, PVC wall tiles, and a kitchen backsplash. The bullets say smooth floors and walls, indoor only, 30 cm squares, 10 pieces, 0.9 m², 0.6 mm thick.

Can it be taken off?

The listing says you can reposition it and later lift an edge with a spatula without residue. It also says heavy-duty cleaners may cause corrosion. There are no reviews on the listing to check that claim.

What is the star rating?

The listing has no customer-review line. The rating is recorded as not available, not as zero stars from shoppers.

How we compared

Six amazon.co.uk peel-and-stick vinyl and PVC squares were scored from the listing facts and review notes captured on 19 October 2026. There is no lab test. The highest score is the top pick. The best value is the lowest price per square metre among packs with a stated coverage of at least 3 m² and more than 50 ratings. A missing thickness, a missing star line, and a listing that says both permanent and reusable adhesive are scored as written. A bathroom word is not a pendulum test.

1

Amazon stars and review count

35%

The amazon.co.uk star average is read with the number of ratings behind it. A 4.6 from 595 ratings scores higher on this block than a 4.4 from 150. A listing with no star line scores zero here.

2

Listing fit

25%

Printed thickness, coverage you can read, a bathroom named on the listing, and a removal line are scored from the page. Coverage worked out from size times count scores below a stated area. A listing that says both permanent and reusable adhesive scores below a single removal line.

3

Review outcome

25%

UK review notes cover tack, the rooms people actually laid, shine, shade changes, damaged corners, weak glue, slip and broken tiles. A listing with no reviews scores zero on this block. A larger review file can score it higher than a short one.

4

Price per square metre

15%

Price is judged against coverage you can read and the review count. About £6 per square metre on a stated 3.6 m² pack with more than 50 ratings scores higher here than about £15 or about £20 per square metre.

Floor tiles buying guide

This guide follows the six amazon.co.uk peel-and-stick squares kept on 19 October 2026. It does not add a lab score, a pendulum value, or a shop price from outside those listings and the tile-shop band named below. Thickness, coverage, tack and shade decide the order.

What are these floor tiles?

Floor tiles in this comparison are peel-and-stick vinyl or PVC squares on amazon.co.uk. They are not porcelain or ceramic from a tile merchant. Keep 30 cm squares. Wood-effect planks about 15 cm by 91 cm are a different product and sit outside this set. The room packs are 40 pieces: YAYODS grey, CYEER black, CYEER grey marble-effect and AHAQU grey wood-effect.

Best for

  • A flat, dry indoor floor you can cover in a weekend and cut with a knife
  • A renter who has the landlord’s permission and a listing that states how the tiles come off

Not ideal for

  • Porcelain or ceramic to BS 5385-3, or a wet floor that needs a pendulum value
  • An old thermoplastic tile floor you would sand or scrape

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Ordering the exact coverage

A 40-piece 30 cm pack is 3.6 m² only where size and count are stated. FloorPops is about 0.93 m² and Tink is 0.9 m². Ten percent extra is a rule of thumb. Patterned tiles need more so the print meets, and a second box may not match the first.

  2. 2

Reading a bathroom line as a slip test

HSE GEIS2 needs a pendulum value. None of these six listings print one. Only YAYODS claims an anti-slip surface, and one review calls it very slippery in a bathroom. A waterproof word is not that test.

  3. 3

Sticking before a dry lay, or sanding an old tile floor

Dust, polish and a damp floor are where the reviews lose tack. Dry-lay one batch first. If the floor underneath may be old thermoplastic tile, HSE a23 says wet, lift gently, and never sand. These new packs are not that product.

What to weigh up

Coverage and thickness

High

Start with the shape, then the area, then the thickness. This set is 30 cm squares. A wood-effect plank about 15 cm by 91 cm was left out. A 40-piece 30 cm pack is 3.6 m² where the size and the count are stated. YAYODS and AHAQU print 3.6 m². Both CYEER packs reach 3.6 m² only if you multiply 40 squares by 0.09 m². The pack text talks about a substantial area rather than printing 3.6 m². FloorPops is 10 tiles and 10 sq ft, about 0.93 m². Tink is 10 tiles and a stated 0.9 m².

Adhesive, slip and shade

High

Read the backing in the reviews as well as in the bullets. YAYODS says you only remove the film. Several reviews added spray adhesive, grab adhesive or tape, and edges lift after days. CYEER black says removal without residue. Reviews do not confirm a clean lift, and several say the tiles would not stick on concrete, tile or wood. CYEER grey also says removal without residue. Some buyers did not need extra adhesive. Others still used spray or carpet glue.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

One bathroom or kitchen on a flat floor

You want about 3.6 m² of 1.3 mm vinyl and a removal line on the listing. The CYEER grey marble pack is £29.37, with 4.4 from 150 ratings. Reviewers cut and laid it on kitchen lino and on wood bathroom floors. Shine, a later shade change, and one damaged box are already in the score.

Common questions about floor tiles

Which floor tile is the top pick in this set?
In this set of six amazon.co.uk listings, the top pick is the CYEER grey marble pack: 40 vinyl squares at 30 cm, stated 1.3 mm, £29.37. It leads on that thickness, about 3.6 m² from size times count, and 4.4 from 150 ratings. Shine, a shade change between boxes, and one box with damaged corners are already in the score. There is no lab test. This ranks these six listings only.
What do these floor tiles cost?
On 19 October 2026 the shelf prices were YAYODS £21.59, CYEER grey £29.37, CYEER black and AHAQU £29.99, FloorPops £14.00 and Tink £17.90. Per square metre that is about £6.00, £8.16, £8.33, £8.33, £15 and £19.89. FloorPops is the cheapest carton because it covers about 0.93 m². A tile-shop band of roughly £16–£150 per square metre is a different product, and grout and labour are extra.
What should you check before you buy?
Keep 30 cm squares. A 40-piece 30 cm pack is 3.6 m² when size and count are stated. FloorPops is about 0.93 m² and Tink is 0.9 m². YAYODS and both CYEER packs state 1.3 mm. Tink states 0.6 mm. AHAQU and FloorPops do not state a usable thickness. Read whether reviewers could bond the backing, and order one batch so the shade matches. Ten percent extra for cuts is a rule of thumb.
Can these tiles go in a bathroom?
A bathroom on the title is not a slip test. HSE GEIS2 treats a pendulum value of 0–24 as high slip potential, 25–35 as moderate, and 36 or above as low. None of these six listings publish a pendulum value. Only YAYODS claims an anti-slip surface, and one review calls those tiles very slippery in a bathroom. If the floor stays wet, or a route needs a specified slip result, these packs are the wrong product.
Is the peel-and-stick backing enough on its own?
The reviews do not all agree with the bullets. YAYODS reviews describe weak glue, lifted edges, and extra spray, grab adhesive or tape. CYEER black reviews include adhesive that fails on concrete, tile and wood. On CYEER grey, some buyers did not need extra spray and others still used it. FloorPops reviews more often say the tack holds once the tile is down. That listing also says both a permanent adhesive and that the tiles are reusable.
Are these the same as click vinyl or porcelain?
No. These six listings are peel-and-stick squares. Click vinyl is a locking plank that floats. The click vinyl comparison is a separate set of amazon.co.uk listings. Porcelain and ceramic sit under BS EN 14411 and BS 5385-3:2024, which these packs do not cite. Use a stick-on square for a weekend cover on a flat, dry floor. Use a fired tile when you need a rigid floor and a specified slip result.
What if the floor underneath might be old tile?
If it may be old thermoplastic tile, read HSE asbestos essentials a23 before you sand or scrape. Keep the work wet, lift gently, and never sand. Paper-backed tiles can be notifiable non-licensed work. These new amazon.co.uk packs are not that product. Covering an old floor does not remove a duty to manage it. Call a professional when asbestos is possible, when the substrate moves or is damp, or when you want stone or ceramic to BS 5385-3.

Our verdict

In this set of six amazon.co.uk listings, the top pick is the CYEER grey marble pack at £29.37, stated 1.3 mm, about 3.6 m² from size times count, and 4.4 from 150 ratings. Shine, a shade change and damaged corners are already in that score. The best value is YAYODS at about £6.00 per square metre on a stated 3.6 m², with 4.0 from 82 ratings.
