Mini greenhouse comparison 2026

The best mini greenhouses, compared.

Top pick: Bamworld 3-tier eucalyptus Best value: VOUNOT 4-tier 135 g/m² – Lowest price of the three scores of 59, about £24.63, with 135 g/m² and 10 kg per shelf printed. Updated October 2026.

Peter F.Editor

A mini greenhouse is a film-covered frame for seedlings, herbs and a few pots, not a glazed walk-in house. You are choosing a cover for a patio, a balcony or a bed. Eight of the nine amazon.co.uk rows are shelved racks about 80 to 162 cm tall. One is a 270 × 90 × 90 cm tunnel. Footprint, shelf gap, cover weight and anchors decide the row. None of the nine prints a wind speed. The card mark is an editorial score out of 10, from stars, review volume, the sample, whether the listing agrees with itself, and price, with deductions for a failed cover or a material clash. Do not treat a 50 cm rack and a bed tunnel as substitutes. How to choose is set out in the [mini greenhouse buying guide](/hub/raised-beds-greenhouses-and-compost/mini-greenhouse/sub/mini-greenhouse-buying-guide).

The best mini greenhouses in detail

Bamworld 3-tier eucalyptus

Rank 1

Bamworld 3-tier eucalyptus

∼£23

Our view

The Bamworld house is a three-tier polyethylene cover on a eucalyptus frame, listed at £22.99. amazon.co.uk shows 4.6 from 109 reviews, the highest star line in this set, with 27 UK-labelled texts in the extract. Reviewers prefer the wood to plastic-tube racks, fit two seed trays on a level, and use it for bonsai or an acer once shelves come out. The bullets state up to 38 lb per shelf and shelves 22 inches wide with 16 inches between tiers. The specification line of 32 × 16 × 44 cm does not match that shelf, and no assembled height is printed. Instructions cite numbers reviewers could not find on the parts, though a QR video helped, and the frame still needs pinning or it can blow over. It is the wooden option here, with the assembled size unsettled.

Pros

  • 4.6 from 109 reviews, the highest star line in the set
  • Eucalyptus frame; UK reviews call the wood steadier than plastic tubes
  • Up to 38 lb per shelf stated
  • £22.99, with a cover UK reviews describe as tough

Cons

  • 32 × 16 × 44 cm in the table does not match 22-inch shelves
  • Assembled height is not printed
  • Instructions refer to numbers that are not on the parts
  • UK review: it needs pinning or it can blow over

Best for: Seed trays, bonsai, or a small tree if you will follow the video and pin the frame.

Less suitable: Big pots, or a buyer who needs one agreed assembled height before ordering.

Common questions

What is the frame material?

The table says wood. The bullets say eucalyptus.

What shelf load is printed?

Up to 38 lb per shelf. Shelves are described as 22 inches wide with 16 inches of spacing.

Is an assembled height printed?

No. The dimension line is 32 × 16 × 44 cm, which does not match a 22-inch shelf. Both figures are printed and neither is corrected.

DIVCHI extra-wide 4-tier

Rank 2

DIVCHI extra-wide 4-tier

∼£33

Our view

The DIVCHI extra-wide rack is 105 × 45 × 160 cm at £33.29, with a polyethylene cover, a roll-up door, and a side pocket. amazon.co.uk shows 4.5 from 325 reviews. UK reviewers put seed trays on the wide shelves, prefer the door clips to thin ties, and fill the pockets with rocks or gravel. One garden was still using it after two years, which is one report rather than a durability test. Shelves sit loose and need cable ties, there are no external anchor points, and reviews mention a missing pole or a cover that arrived split. The table says four vents, while one UK review says the advertised air holes were not on the cover. The weight line says 200 g. The width is the reason to pay £33.29, and you still supply the tie.

Pros

  • 105 × 45 × 160 cm, wide enough for seed trays
  • 4.5 from 325 reviews
  • Side pocket that UK reviews fill with rocks or gravel
  • Door clips preferred to thin ties

Cons

  • Shelves sit loose and need cable ties
  • No external anchor points in the listing
  • Missing pole or a split cover on arrival, in UK reviews
  • Four vents in the table; one UK review found no front air holes. Weight line says 200 g

Best for: Seed trays along a wall long enough for 105 cm, with rocks in the pocket and a tie you add.

Less suitable: A narrow balcony, or a buyer who expected stakes and a printed shelf load.

What do the bullets say about wind?

Place it on level ground and secure it in windy weather. A side pocket is included. No stake is listed.

Are four vents confirmed by reviewers?

The table says 4 vents. One UK review says advertised air holes were not on the cover. Both are recorded.

JUNGLE STONE 4-tier PE

Rank 3

JUNGLE STONE 4-tier PE

∼£29

Our view

The JUNGLE STONE rack is a four-shelf polyethylene house about 158 cm tall, listed at £28.99, with a 10 cm skirt the bullets say you can bury or weight with stone or sand. amazon.co.uk shows 4.5 from 226 reviews, and the first 50 texts in this extract are labelled United Kingdom. Reviewers assemble it alone, run the zips, and hold it down with bricks, a compost bag, or a tie to a shed, fence, or wall. The bullets state 15 kg per shelf. Those reviews also say the gap is too small for plants over about 12 inches unless you leave a shelf out, tent pegs fail on paving, and one cover blew off with no easy replacement. The table prints 69 cm wide and low-density polyethylene; the bullets print 64 cm and reinforced PE. In this set it is the top pick for a patio rack you can ballast, with those two clashes left on the listing.

Pros

  • 4.5 from 226 reviews, and the first 50 texts are UK-labelled
  • Bullets state 15 kg per shelf and at least 12 pots
  • 10 cm skirt to bury or weight with stone or sand
  • UK reviews: one person can assemble it

Cons

  • Width printed as 69 cm and as 64 cm
  • Table says LDPE; bullets say reinforced PE
  • Shelf gap too small for plants over about 12 inches unless a shelf comes out
  • One UK review: the cover blew off and a replacement was hard to find

Best for: Seedlings, herbs, and small pots on a patio where you can weight the skirt or tie the frame.

Less suitable: Full-size tomatoes on every shelf, or paving where you hoped tent pegs would be enough.

Common questions

What are the printed dimensions?

The table says 69 × 49 × 158 cm. The bullets say width 64 cm, depth 49 cm, height 158 cm. Both are printed.

What shelf load is stated?

The bullets say 15 kg per shelf and at least 12 pots. That is the seller’s figure.

Does the listing say it is tool-free?

Yes. The bullets say you can assemble it without tools and take it apart.

VOUNOT 270 cm PE tunnel

Rank 4

VOUNOT 270 cm PE tunnel

∼£35

Our view

The VOUNOT tunnel is a 270 × 90 × 90 cm polyethylene cover, listed at £34.99, for a bed or a row rather than a stack of shelves. Across 121 amazon.co.uk reviews it sits at 4.5. In the 11 UK-labelled texts, people put it together in about 15 minutes, open the cover by day over raised beds, and use it for herbs and for seedlings they later move outside. The bullets state 135 g/m² film, ground stakes, and nylon ties. The specification table also says three doors, while the bullets describe three mesh roll-up windows, so that figure is the windows, not three separate entrances. One UK review says the plastic can split, and another had to pierce the cover so a tie would meet. It is a stronger match when you need a walk-over cover about 90 cm high, and a weak match if you wanted shelves.

Pros

  • 270 × 90 × 90 cm tunnel with stakes and ties in the bullets
  • 135 g/m² polyethylene stated
  • £34.99, 4.5 from 121 reviews
  • UK reviews use it over raised beds and open the cover by day

Cons

  • No shelves and no stated shelf load
  • Table says 3 doors; bullets describe 3 mesh windows
  • One UK review says the plastic can split
  • Only 11 UK-labelled texts in the extract

Best for: A raised bed or row about 90 cm wide, when the stakes in the box are what you will use.

Less suitable: Seed trays on shelves, or a balcony that cannot take a 270 cm cover.

The specification says 3 doors and 3 vents. The bullets describe 3 mesh roll-up windows, not three separate entrances.

Is a shelf load stated?

DIVCHI 4-tier PVC

Rank 5

DIVCHI 4-tier PVC

∼£17

Our view

The DIVCHI four-tier PVC rack is 50 × 45 × 130 cm at £17.29, with 4.4 from 634 reviews, the largest count in this set. UK reviewers often finish the build in 10–20 minutes and use it for seed trays in a sheltered spot or a conservatory, including one balcony that stayed up through winter once the frame was weighted. The title says a durable steel frame, the bullets say a PP connector, and a UK review says the tubes are plastic and the title should be ignored. Mesh shelves bend under heavier pots, seams and zips split, and poles sometimes need force to seat. The printed item weight is 200 g, which is not a credible assembled weight and is left as printed. It is a low shelf price for trays you will not overload, and a poor buy if you needed the steel the title names.

Pros

  • £17.29 with 4.4 from 634 reviews
  • 50 × 45 × 130 cm in the bullets and the dimension line
  • UK reviews: often built in 10–20 minutes for seed trays
  • One UK review kept a weighted unit on a balcony through winter

Cons

  • Title says steel; bullets say a PP connector; a UK review says plastic tubes
  • Mesh shelves bend, and seams or zips split
  • Poles that will not seat without force
  • Item weight printed as 200 g, with no kilogram shelf load

Best for: Seed trays in a sheltered spot or a conservatory, if you treat the steel line as unresolved.

Less suitable: Heavy pots, an exposed plot, or a buyer who chose it because the title said steel.

Common questions

VOUNOT 4-tier 135 g/m²

Rank 6

VOUNOT 4-tier 135 g/m²

∼£25

Our view

The VOUNOT four-tier is 69 × 49 × 160 cm, listed at £24.63, with 135 g/m² polyethylene in the bullets and a stated 10 kg on each shelf, plus a 40 kg maximum in the specification. amazon.co.uk shows 4.4 from 170 reviews. Only six of the first 50 texts are labelled United Kingdom, so the British comment file is thin. Those six say it goes together quickly, and that a brick on the lower shelf or an elastic strap to fence hooks was used on a windy plot. One reviewer found the shelf gaps tight enough that taller plants bent, and one called the frame flimsy and would not buy it again. There is no repeated UK report of a broken zip in that small sample. It is the best value here when you want a printed cloth weight and a printed shelf load at £24.63, with that thin UK file as the limit.

Pros

  • 135 g/m² polyethylene and 10 kg per shelf stated
  • Specification maximum of 40 kg
  • £24.63, 4.4 from 170 reviews
  • 69 × 49 × 160 cm with no second width printed

Cons

  • Only six UK-labelled texts in the first 50
  • One UK review calls it flimsy and would not buy it again
  • Shelf gaps too tight for taller plants unless a shelf is left out
  • Clips and ties are stated; ground stakes are not

Best for: A four-shelf rack under £25 when you want 135 g/m² and a 10 kg shelf figure in the listing.

Less suitable: Anyone who wants a large stack of UK reviews, or tall plants on every tier.

Ohuhu 4-tier with wheels

Rank 7

Ohuhu 4-tier with wheels

∼£40

Our view

The Ohuhu rack is 69 × 48 × 162 cm with four shelves, locking wheels, and a clear PVC cover, at £39.99. amazon.co.uk shows 4.3 from 271 reviews. UK reviewers use it for seeds and lettuce, wheel it from indoors to the garden after the frosts, and describe the film as thick rather than brittle. Each shelf is stated at up to 10 kg. The brakes are called poor, the shelves are described as suitable for seedlings rather than larger plants, and one buyer had incomplete hook-and-loop straps so the cover sagged. A 95% sunlight line is the seller’s bullet, not a measurement. It suits you if you will roll a light rack between a kitchen and a sheltered spot, and the locks are not ground anchors on an open balcony.

Pros

  • Locking wheels, the only set in this comparison that states them
  • Each shelf stated at up to 10 kg
  • 69 × 48 × 162 cm printed in the bullet and the size line
  • UK reviews move it indoors, then outside for tomatoes and seedlings

Cons

  • £39.99, the highest shelf price in the set
  • UK review: wheel brakes are not all that great
  • Incomplete hook-and-loop straps left a cover sagging
  • No stakes printed

Best for: Seedlings you want to wheel between indoors and a sheltered spot.

Less suitable: Heavy pots, or an exposed balcony where locks are the only fixing.

DIVCHI 2-tier PE

Rank 8

DIVCHI 2-tier PE

∼£15

Our view

The DIVCHI two-tier polyethylene rack is 59 × 45 × 85 cm at £15.29. amazon.co.uk shows 4.3 from 181 reviews, with 44 UK-labelled texts in the extract. Reviewers treat a build of about 15 minutes as a starter for seeds and a tomato in a sheltered spot, and they like a snap clip that holds the rolled door. Pots of soil are what make the light frame feel steadier. A zip came off within a month in one review, shelves arrived bent, poles did not fit, and one household hot-glued the joints to cope with ordinary wind. No shelf load in kilograms is printed, and the item weight line says 200 g. It is a short doorstep cover, not a four-shelf seed station.

Pros

  • 59 × 45 × 85 cm polyethylene rack at £15.29
  • 4.3 from 181 reviews, with 44 UK-labelled texts
  • UK reviews: a short build for seeds and a tomato in shelter
  • A snap clip for the rolled door, preferred to ties on an older model

Cons

  • No kilogram shelf load
  • Item weight printed as 200 g
  • Zip off within a month, bent shelves, and poles that did not fit
  • One household glued the joints to survive wind

Best for: A sheltered doorstep for seeds and one short tomato, with pots used as ballast.

Less suitable: Four tiers of trays, or a windy corner where glue would be the fixing.

DIVCHI 2-tier PVC

Rank 9

DIVCHI 2-tier PVC

∼£14

Our view

The DIVCHI two-tier PVC rack is the smallest house in this set, about 80 cm high, at £14.29. amazon.co.uk shows 4.1 from 112 reviews, the lowest star line here, from 31 UK-labelled texts. Some reviewers use it beside a door for plugs, a tomato, or rose pots, and one says the company was quick to help on a second order. Others report a cover torn within an hour, a split in slight heat, or a zip that came off the first time it was opened. The bullets say 50 × 45 × 80 cm and the dimension line says 50 × 40 × 80 cm. The title says steel, the bullets say tubes of 16 × 0.3 mm and a PP connector, and the weight line says 200 g. At £14.29 it is only a doorstep cover if you can send a split cover back.

Pros

  • Lowest shelf price in the set, £14.29
  • About 80 cm high, used beside a door for plugs and small pots
  • Some UK reviews call the build easy for the price

Cons

  • 4.1 from 112 reviews, the lowest star line here
  • Cover torn within an hour, or a zip off on first open
  • Depth printed as 45 cm and as 40 cm
  • Steel title against a PP connector and a 0.3 mm wall; weight line 200 g

Best for: A few plugs or a rose pot beside a door, if a split cover can go back.

Less suitable: A tomato that will outgrow 80 cm, or any spot you will not watch in a breeze.

How we compared

Nine covers are on this page. The card mark is the editorial score from the display file divided by 10, so 60 becomes 6.0. That score gives up to 30 points for amazon.co.uk stars, up to 20 for review volume, up to 10 for how many sampled texts are labelled United Kingdom, up to 20 for a listing you can buy from, and up to 8 for price. Deductions come off for a steel title against plastic tubes, a cover or zip that failed at once, pegs that fail on paving, a 200 g weight line, and similar clashes. There is no laboratory test and no plant trial. The top pick and the best value are the awards already on that file. The notes follow footprint, shelf load, the printed cover, anchors and listing conflicts. They do not replace the score.

1

Shape and footprint

25%

A tiered rack and a 270 cm bed tunnel are different purchases. Width, depth and height decide a patio, a long wall or a raised bed about 90 cm wide.

2

Shelf gap and stated load

20%

A printed kilogram load, or Bamworld’s 38 lb line, is kept. UK reviews that remove a shelf for tall plants count. No printed load stays blank.

3

Cover as printed

20%

135 g/m² polyethylene, PVC, or a table that says LDPE while the bullets say reinforced PE. A sunlight percentage in a bullet is not a measurement.

4

Anchors and mass

20%

Stakes, a skirt, clips or wheels, plus a printed weight you can believe. A 200 g line is shown and not replaced. None of the nine prints a wind speed.

5

Listing conflicts

15%

Steel against a PP connector, two widths, two depths, or a door count that repeats the windows. Those clashes stay on the card.

Mini greenhouse buying guide

Name the footprint before you compare stars. A shelf rack, a 105 cm reach-in and a 270 cm bed tunnel are different purchases. Prices on this page are amazon.co.uk shelf prices, from about £14.29 to about £39.99.

What counts as a mini greenhouse here?

A mini greenhouse here is a film-covered frame for seedlings, herbs and a few pots. It is not a glazed walk-in house, and it is not twin-wall polycarbonate or glass. This set is eight shelved racks about 80 to 162 cm tall and one tunnel, the VOUNOT at 270 × 90 × 90 cm with three roll-up mesh windows. Do not treat a 50 cm rack and a bed tunnel as substitutes.

Best for

  • Seed trays on a patio you can weight or tie
  • A raised bed about 90 cm wide, with the stakes in the box

Not ideal for

  • An exposed balcony where pegs are the only fixing
  • Tender plants you need frost-free all winter

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Buying on tier count

Four shelves do not mean four usable gaps. UK reviews remove a shelf when plants outgrow the space. Read the printed load, or the lack of one, before you compare the star line.

  2. 2

    Trusting a steel title

The DIVCHI four-tier title says steel. The bullets say a PP connector, and a UK review says the tubes are plastic. A heavy-duty token is not a wind class, and none of these listings prints a wind speed.

  3. 3

    Weighting only the base

Bricks on the bottom shelf can still leave the top as a sail. UK reviews tie frames to a fence or a wall, and tent pegs fail on paving. If you cannot tie or ballast the cover, do not buy it.

What to weigh up

Shape and shelf gap

High

Footprint decides the job before stars do. Eight listings are tiered racks. The VOUNOT tunnel, 270 × 90 × 90 cm, is a walk-over cover for a bed or a row, with no shelves and no kilogram load. A 50 cm rack and that tunnel are not substitutes. Patio racks under about 70 cm wide are JUNGLE STONE, printed at 69 cm and at 64 cm, the VOUNOT four-tier at 69 × 49 × 160 cm, Ohuhu at 69 × 48 × 162 cm, and the smaller DIVCHI racks at 50 or 59 cm wide.

Cover, anchors and clashes

High

The cover is whatever the listing prints. Both VOUNOT models say 135 g/m² polyethylene. JUNGLE STONE says reinforced PE in the bullets and low-density polyethylene in the table. Ohuhu and two DIVCHI models say PVC. Ohuhu’s 95% sunlight line is a seller bullet, not a measurement. No listing here is twin-wall polycarbonate or glass. Credible printed weights are Ohuhu 3 kg, the VOUNOT tunnel 4 kg, the VOUNOT four-tier 4.1 kg, JUNGLE STONE 4.5 kg and Bamworld 3.85 kg. Four DIVCHI rows print 200 g.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

A patio you can ballast

You want four shelves of seedlings and small pots, and you can weight a skirt or tie the frame. JUNGLE STONE is the top pick at about £28.99, with 15 kg per shelf stated. The width is printed as 69 cm and as 64 cm, and tent pegs are a poor fixing on paving.

A printed cloth weight under £25

You want 135 g/m² and a 10 kg shelf figure in the listing, at the lowest price among the three scores of 59. The VOUNOT four-tier is the best value at about £24.63. Only six of the first 50 texts are labelled United Kingdom.

A raised bed about 90 cm wide

You want a walk-over cover, not shelves. The VOUNOT tunnel is 270 × 90 × 90 cm at about £34.99, with 135 g/m² and ground stakes in the bullets. The table’s three doors repeat the three mesh windows. It is a weak match if you wanted trays.

Common questions about mini greenhouses

Which mini greenhouse is the top pick in 2026?
JUNGLE STONE, a four-tier rack at about £28.99, is the top pick. It has the highest editorial score in this set, with 4.5 from 226 amazon.co.uk reviews. The bullets state 15 kg per shelf and a 10 cm skirt. The table prints 69 cm wide and LDPE; the bullets print 64 cm and reinforced PE. One UK review says the cover blew off. It suits seedlings and small pots you can ballast. It is not a storm rating.
How much does a mini greenhouse cost on amazon.co.uk?
Shelf prices in this set run from about £14.29 to about £39.99. Under £20 you get three smaller DIVCHI racks. About £23 to £35 covers Bamworld, the VOUNOT four-tier, JUNGLE STONE, the 105 cm DIVCHI and the 270 cm tunnel. Ohuhu at about £39.99 is the top of the set because it has wheels, not because the film is thicker. Wickes listed a plastic four-tier at £24 on 16 October 2026, and that model is not an ASIN here.
What should you check before you buy a mini greenhouse?
Measure the footprint first. Eight of these listings are tiered racks. The VOUNOT tunnel is 270 × 90 × 90 cm and is not a substitute for a 50 cm rack. Then read the shelf gap and any printed load: 10 kg, 15 kg, or 38 lb, or none. A printed cover weight, here 135 g/m² on both VOUNOT models, is more useful than a heavy-duty token. None of the nine prints a wind speed. If you cannot tie the frame or weight the skirt, do not buy it.
Is a tiered rack the same as a tunnel?
No. Eight listings are shelves about 80 to 162 cm tall. The VOUNOT tunnel is 270 × 90 × 90 cm, with three roll-up mesh windows and ground stakes in the bullets. The specification also says three doors; the bullets describe windows, so that figure is the windows. Use the tunnel over a bed about 90 cm wide, and a rack for seed trays. For a walk-in cover, use the greenhouse comparison.
Will a mini greenhouse keep plants frost-free?
Do not treat these covers as frost-proof. The Royal Horticultural Society says the small air volume swings in temperature, shelves shade the tier below, and gusts are how light frames fail. Unheated polythene is a weak winter store for tender plants. Open the door, or the small volume overheats. Wind, not frost, is the failure the RHS describes for these light frames. None of the nine prints a wind speed or a frost temperature in degrees.
Do you need planning permission for a mini greenhouse?
In England, Class E of the GPDO 2015 can cover an incidental greenhouse on a house only when: not forward of the principal elevation, no more than half the curtilage, eaves at 2.5 m, and a tighter height within 2 m of a boundary. Flats do not get those rights. Scotland uses Class 3A, not the English order. Building Regulations 2010 Class 3 exempts a greenhouse unless the main use is retail, packing or exhibiting. Part P electrics are not exempt. A lease can forbid a balcony cover.
Is the cheap DIVCHI frame steel?
On the DIVCHI four-tier at about £17.29, the title says a durable steel frame, the table says alloy steel, the bullets say a PP connector, and a UK review says the tubes are plastic. The conflict is unresolved, which is why that lower price is not the best value. The two-tier PVC listing has the same kind of clash, plus a depth printed as 45 cm and as 40 cm. Treat steel as a claim to check, not as a material you have confirmed.
Why do some listings weigh 200 g?
Four DIVCHI rows print an item weight of 200 g. That figure is not a credible weight for a framed cover, and it is not replaced with a guess. Use the centimetres, the cover name and the reviews beside it. Credible printed weights in this set are Ohuhu 3 kg, the VOUNOT tunnel 4 kg, the VOUNOT four-tier 4.1 kg, JUNGLE STONE 4.5 kg and Bamworld 3.85 kg. UK reviews still use bricks, compost, gravel in a pocket, or a tie to a fence.

Our verdict

Nine covers are not one mini greenhouse. JUNGLE STONE, a four-tier rack at about £28.99, is the top pick: 4.5 from 226 amazon.co.uk reviews, a stated 15 kg shelf and a 10 cm skirt, with the width printed as 69 cm and as 64 cm. The VOUNOT four-tier at about £24.63 is the best value among the three scores of 59, with 135 g/m² and 10 kg per shelf in the bullets. The cheaper DIVCHI four-tier at about £17.29 is not that award: UK reviews say the tubes are plastic while the title says steel. The 270 cm VOUNOT is a bed cover, not another set of shelves.
