Cordless paint spray gun comparison 2026

The best cordless paint spray guns, compared.

Top pick: ToCzernobgol JH-12Z Best value: Tilswall Shark700 – About £66.48, 4.6 from 74 reviews, as a Makita 18 V body with no battery in the box. Updated October 2026.

Peter F.
Peter F.Editor

A cordless paint spray gun is a handheld sprayer whose motor runs from a battery, with the coating container on the gun. On amazon.co.uk, most shoppers are painting a fence or a shed, or they already own 18 V packs and want a bare body. You tell these seven rows apart by container size, whether the packs are in the box, and whether reviews describe a finished panel or a pack that dies in minutes. The [cordless paint spray gun buying guide](/hub/painting-supplies/cordless-paint-spray-gun/sub/cordless-paint-spray-gun-buying-guide) separates an own-pack gun, a bare body and a touch-up bottle. It is not a compressor gun, a mains turbine, or an airless sprayer. Wagner's cordless Control is airless at 110 bar, and the Health and Safety Executive flags an injection risk for airless tips.

ToCzernobgol JH-12Z

Rank 1

ToCzernobgol JH-12Z

∼£100

Our view

Across 30 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.8 stars, reviewers reach for the ToCzernobgol JH-12Z when a shed or fence would take too long with a brush. The 1,200 ml container is the size one reviewer cited for a shed coat without constant refills, and the bullet lists five nozzles from 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm plus horizontal, vertical and circular patterns. Thinning still comes up: one shed job needed about 10 percent thinner, so this is not a pour-from-the-tin gun. A UK review calls it heavy and noisy, with rough edges on the trigger, against a stated weight of 2.55 kg. Voltage is missing from the title and the spec table, and one UK review mentions a 220 V socket, which does not establish the pack voltage. The bullet lists two 4,000 mAh packs claimed at 20–25 minutes each, while the included-components field says Spray Gun only, so check that line before you count on spare packs. Assembly is described as tool-free, with a brush and a nozzle needle, and no clean-within time is printed. It is the top pick in this set on that star line and the 1,200 ml cup.

Pros

  • UK reviews: faster than a brush on sheds, fences and furniture
  • 1,200 ml cup cited for a shed coat without constant refills
  • Five nozzles and three patterns

Cons

  • UK review: heavy, noisy, rough trigger edges
  • Thinning needed; one shed job about 10 percent
  • Included-components field does not list the packs
  • Voltage not stated

Best for: A shed or fence coat where a 1,200 ml cup matters and you can check the battery line yourself.

Less suitable: Anyone who needs a stated voltage, or a components list that names the packs.

Common questions

Are the batteries in the box?

The bullet lists two 4,000 mAh packs, each claimed at 20–25 minutes. The included-components field says Spray Gun only, so check that line before you count on spare packs.

What voltage does the listing state?

The title and the spec table do not state volts. The power-source cell says battery powered. One UK review mentions a 220 V socket, which does not establish the pack voltage.

Is assembly tool-free?

The bullet says tool-free assembly, with a cleaning brush and a nozzle needle. It does not print a clean-within time.

Tilswall Shark700

Rank 2

Tilswall Shark700

∼£66

Our view

With 74 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.6 stars, the Tilswall Shark700 is the body reviewers use for a fence, a shed or a stable block when a brush is the alternative. It is sold as a Makita 18 V gun at a stated 1.87 kg, with a 1,300 ml side-fill container and a flow claim of up to 900 ml/min. The title says no battery, and UK reviews say the picture showed a pack that is not in the box, so the £66.48 price assumes you already own a compatible Makita 18 V pack. The listing names BL1860B, BL1850B, BL1840B, BL1830B, BL1820B and BL1815N, yet one UK review says similar-looking packs did not fit. Nozzle diameters are not in the amazon bullets, so you cannot match a tip size from this page alone. The listing says clean within 15 minutes, and the soft-start note says point the nozzle away and half-press for two seconds before a full trigger. Several reviewers say one pack is not enough for a long fence. It is the best value when those packs are already on the shelf.

Pros

  • UK reviews: fence, shed and a stable block faster than a brush
  • Makes sense if Makita 18 V packs are already owned
  • Side-fill 1,300 ml container and three patterns

Cons

  • UK reviews: the picture showed a battery that is not in the box
  • Packs run down; several are needed for a long fence
  • Nozzle diameters are not in the amazon bullets
  • One UK review: similar packs did not fit

Best for: You already own Makita 18 V packs and want a 1,300 ml gun for fences, sheds or a stable block.

Less suitable: A first kit with no Makita packs, or a buyer who needs nozzle diameters on the listing.

Common questions

Does the Shark700 come with a battery?

No. The title says no battery. The included-components field lists a viscosity cup.

Which Makita packs does the listing name?

BL1860B, BL1850B, BL1840B, BL1830B, BL1820B and BL1815N. One UK review says similar-looking packs did not fit.

How soon does the listing say to clean it?

Cepolawa HJ-0GVV1BA0

Rank 3

Cepolawa HJ-0GVV1BA0

∼£40

Our view

The Cepolawa HJ-0GVV1BA0 sits at 4.0 stars from 14 reviews and £39.99, with two 21 V 2,000 mAh packs and a charger named in the included-components line. UK reviews mention a shed and a fence, and fence preservative, without constant clogs, using five brass nozzles from 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm and a 1,200 ml container. The listing caps viscosity at 100 DIN-S and claims each pack lasts 20 minutes, with a recharge of 2–2.5 hours. A UK review says only one of the two batteries worked and the seller did not reply. The dimension cell prints 10 mm by 10 mm, which cannot hold a 1,200 ml container, and the colour cell prints 2x2000mAh. Some reviews quote 3,000 mAh or 40 minutes, which is not the listing line. Flow is claimed at up to 800 ml/min, and watts are not stated.

Pros

  • Charger and two packs are in the included-components line
  • UK reviews: a shed and fence, and fence preservative, without constant clogs
  • Five brass nozzles and a stated 100 DIN-S cap

Cons

  • UK review: only one of the two batteries worked, and the seller did not reply
  • Dimension cell prints 10 mm by 10 mm
  • Colour cell prints 2x2000mAh
  • Some reviews quote 3,000 mAh, which the listing does not

Best for: A shed or fence coat where a stated 100 DIN-S cap matters and you can live with 14 reviews.

Less suitable: Anyone who needs usable printed dimensions, or a second pack a seller has already replaced.

Common questions

How long does the listing say each pack lasts?

20 minutes on a full charge, with a recharge of 2–2.5 hours. The packs are 2,000 mAh. Some reviews say 3,000 mAh or 40 minutes, which is not the listing line.

What is the maximum viscosity on the listing?

100 DIN-S. The listing does not convert that figure.

Are the printed dimensions usable?

The spec cell says 10 mm by 10 mm. That cannot hold a 1,200 ml container. The cell is kept as printed, and it is not used as the size of the gun.

Helangel YQPQ-Red

Rank 4

Helangel YQPQ-Red

∼£34

Our view

Across 77 amazon.co.uk reviews at 3.9 stars, the Helangel YQPQ-Red is a £33.99 kit whose included-components line lists two 3,000 mAh packs and a charger. UK reviewers get fence panels done faster than with a brush when the mix is right, using five nozzles from 0.8 mm to 2.5 mm and a 900 ml container. The same review set keeps returning to packs that last about 5 to 15 minutes against a much longer charge, which stops a long side of fencing. Spitting, or noise with no paint, shows up too, including a water test. The title describes a 21 V battery gun, while the item-type cell names a W 690 FLEXiO Universal Sprayer 630 W 240 V, so that cell does not describe the product in the title. HVLP appears as letters only, with no pressure printed. The listing says clean immediately, and it claims a 150 W motor at up to 18,000 rpm, at a stated 1.88 kg.

Pros

  • Charger and two packs are in the included-components line
  • UK reviews: fence panels faster than a brush when the mix is right
  • Five copper nozzles and a 900 ml container

Cons

  • UK reviews: many packs last about 5 to 15 minutes
  • Spitting, or noise with no paint, including a water test
  • Item-type cell names a 630 W 240 V model
  • HVLP is letters only; no pressure is printed

Best for: Small fence panels when the charger and two packs must be listed in the box.

Less suitable: A long run of panels on one charge, or anyone treating the 240 V item-type cell as the specification.

Common questions

Does it come with a charger?

Yes. The included-components line lists 3,000 mAh batteries and a charger.

Why does the spec table mention 240 V?

The item-type cell reads W 690 FLEXiO Universal Sprayer 630 W 240 V. The title and the bullets describe a 21 V battery gun, so that cell does not describe this product.

What do the UK reviews say about the packs?

Across the first 50 UK texts, packs lasting about 5 to 15 minutes are a repeated complaint, against a much longer charge.

Lionbow P03

Rank 5

Lionbow P03

∼£36

Our view

The Lionbow P03 is a 413 g touch-up gun with 60 ml and 24 ml bottles, not a fence sprayer. At £35.99 it shows 3.9 stars from 29 reviews, and the 12 texts in the extract are labelled United States, so there is no UK review text for a British job. One US review describes truck touch-up on mirrors and a scoop, and the bullets name car touch-up, cabinets and crafts. Several US texts say the gun blows air and does not pull paint, and one title says it leaks. Cleaning is a needle and wet wipes, not water, and you should not soak the handle. No mAh, wattage or runtime is printed. One bullet says Saker spray gun inside a Lionbow paragraph, which is a listing error rather than a second product in the box. Nine nozzles are listed, and their widths are not stated.

Pros

  • US review: truck touch-up on mirrors and a scoop
  • Cleaning confined to the bottle and the tip in one US text
  • Nine nozzles and a charging cable are in the package list

Cons

  • US reviews: air but no paint, and nozzles that will not align for suction
  • One US title: leaks
  • No UK review text in the extract
  • No mAh, wattage or runtime figure

Best for: Small touch-up on a vehicle, a cabinet or a craft piece, if you accept US-only review texts.

Less suitable: Fences, sheds, or any job that needs a litre-scale container.

SenDeluz CN6000D

Rank 6

SenDeluz CN6000D

∼£30

Our view

At £29.99 and 3.7 stars from 43 reviews, the SenDeluz CN6000D is a 21 V gun whose kit list names two 3,000 mAh batteries and a charger. UK reviews say it is faster than a brush once the paint is thin enough, with a 900 ml container, five nozzles from 0.8 mm to 2.5 mm and a claimed flow of 100–200 ml/min. In 28 UK texts, packs lasting about 5 minutes, 5–7 minutes or about 20 minutes are a repeated complaint, and one text says the charger failed after about 20 seconds. One return says the unit arrived used and did not work. Assembly is press and twist, with no tools. Cuprinol and decking appear as listing examples, not as an approval of those tins. The spec list looks like the Helangel row, but this is a separate ASIN, and the page asks about a case the kit bullet does not list.

Pros

  • Own packs and a charger are in the kit list
  • UK reviews: faster than a brush once the paint is thin enough
  • Press-and-twist assembly, no tools

Cons

  • UK reviews: short pack life and a long charge
  • One return: arrived used and did not work
  • Cuprinol and decking are listing examples, not an approval
  • Separate from Helangel even where the spec list looks alike

Best for: A low outlay for small jobs if you accept short pack life and a long charge.

Less suitable: A fence that needs hours of spraying, or a buyer who needs a case in the box.

Longzhuo GWD0017-0

Rank 7

Longzhuo GWD0017-0

∼£20

Our view

The Longzhuo GWD0017-0 is the cheapest row in this set at £19.99, and the review file is the weakest: 2.0 stars from five ratings. Three UK texts say it was not fit for purpose, that it broke after 20 minutes, and that it was terrible, and none of them names a feature that worked. It is a Makita 18 V body with no battery in the box, a 1,000 ml container, three brass nozzles at 1.0 mm, 1.8 mm and 2.5 mm, and a 200 W claim in the bullet. The listing names packs from BL1860 through BL1815, BL1820 and BL1835, and it gives a thinning example of 3:1 only with suitable coatings. Tool-free assembly and a viscosity cup are listed, which does not offset five ratings. Two of those ratings have no text in the extract. At a stated 1.3 kg it is light on the spec line, and the reviews do not show a finished fence.

Pros

  • 1,000 ml container, three brass nozzles and a viscosity cup are listed
  • Tool-free assembly is in the bullet
  • Lowest price in this set, at £19.99

Cons

  • Battery not included
  • Three UK texts name no feature that worked
  • One UK text: broke after 20 minutes
  • Only five ratings, and two of them have no text in the extract

Best for: Only if you already own Makita 18 V packs and treat £19.99 as a returnable gamble.

Less suitable: A fence or shed you need finished this weekend.

3:1, and only with suitable coatings. The page asks about varnish. The bullets do not say varnish is approved.

What do the UK reviews say?

Three UK texts: not fit for purpose, broke after 20 minutes, and terrible. None names a feature that worked. The star line is 2.0 from 5.

How we compared

The score on each of the seven amazon.co.uk listings, checked on 15 October 2026, is the star line times 20. A 4.8 becomes 96. Price is not inside the score. It is used only for the best-value badge. The top pick and the best value follow the display awards on those star lines, with the box contents and the job kept visible. Thin samples, a components-line clash, a 240 V item-type cell and US-only review texts stay in the assessment. They are not subtracted. This is not a lab test. No UKCA or CE mark is added, because none of the seven files prints one. The five weights below are the order of the buying checks. They sum to 100. They are not a second score.

1

Job size

25%

A litre-class container suits a fence or a shed. Lionbow's 60 ml and 24 ml bottles, at 413 g, are a touch-up gun. Do not rank that bottle against a 1,200 ml cup on price alone.

2

Box contents

25%

Helangel, SenDeluz, Cepolawa and the ToCzernobgol bullet name their own packs. Tilswall and Longzhuo are Makita 18 V bodies with no battery. A photo of a pack is not the included-components line.

3

The tin and the nozzle

20%

Listings say suitably thinned paint. Ronseal says standard Fence Life is not for a sprayer. Nozzles here run from 0.8 mm to 3.0 mm. A larger hole is for a heavier coating, not a quality score.

4

Runtime in reviews

15%

Claims and reviews stay apart. ToCzernobgol claims 20–25 minutes per 4,000 mAh pack. Cepolawa claims 20 minutes per 2,000 mAh pack. Helangel and SenDeluz reviews often say about 5 to 15 minutes.

5

Shelf price, badge only

15%

Price does not change the star score. The best-value badge is the Tilswall Shark700 at £66.48, 4.6 from 74, if you already own Makita 18 V packs. Longzhuo is cheaper at £19.99 and has 2.0 from 5, so it does not take the badge.

Cordless paint spray gun buying guide

Match the cup and the box contents to the job before the brand. A litre-class gun is for a fence or a shed. A 60 ml bottle is touch-up. A bare Makita 18 V body is only a saving if the packs are already yours.

What is a cordless paint spray gun?

A cordless paint spray gun here is a handheld sprayer whose motor runs from a battery, with the coating container on the gun. It is not a compressor gun, a mains turbine, or an airless sprayer. Screwfix listed a Wagner 18 V airless kit at £729.99 including VAT. That kit is not a row on this page. Wagner's cordless Control Pro is airless at 110 bar, and the Health and Safety Executive flags an injection risk for airless tips. The Makita DUS054Z is a garden sprayer, not a paint gun.

Best for

  • Fence and shed owners who can buy a sprayable tin
  • People who already own Makita 18 V packs and want a bare body

Not ideal for

  • A fence job bought as Lionbow's 60 ml touch-up gun
  • Isocyanate two-pack paint, which needs a booth and air-fed breathing apparatus

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

Buying a compressor kit from the search

A cordless paint spray gun in this set has the motor and the cup on the gun. A compressor kit, a mains turbine and the Wagner 18 V airless kit at £729.99 are different tools. The search word spray gun does not make them the same row.

  2. 2

Pouring standard Fence Life into the cup

Ronseal says standard Fence Life is not for a sprayer. Use Sprayable Fence Life or Fence Life Plus. Listings here say suitably thinned paint. Cuprinol and decking on the SenDeluz page are examples, not an approval of those tins.

  3. 3

    Assuming any Makita-shaped pack fits

Tilswall names BL1860B, BL1850B, BL1840B, BL1830B, BL1820B and BL1815N. One UK review says similar-looking packs did not fit. Longzhuo names a different list, including BL1835, and it still has no battery in the box. A photo of a pack is not the included-components line.

What to weigh up

Job size and what is in the box

High

Job size decides the gun before the brand. A litre-class container suits a fence or a shed. In this set that means 900 ml, 1,000 ml, 1,200 ml or 1,300 ml. Lionbow's 60 ml and 24 ml bottles, on a 413 g body, are a touch-up gun. The bullets name car touch-up, cabinets and crafts. Buying it for a fence is the mistake those bottle sizes cannot fix, and the texts in that extract are labelled United States, so they are not a British fence review. Box contents are the second split.

The tin, the nozzle and runtime

High

The listing says suitably thinned paint. It does not approve every fence tin. Ronseal says standard Fence Life is not for a sprayer. Use Sprayable Fence Life or Fence Life Plus. If the paint sheet says airless or roller only, these cups are the wrong tool. Nozzles on these ASINs run from 0.8 mm to 3.0 mm. A larger hole is for a heavier coating, not a quality score. Tilswall does not print diameters. Lionbow lists nine nozzles and does not state the widths.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

A fence or a shed

You want panels done faster than with a brush, and you can buy a sprayable tin. The ToCzernobgol JH-12Z is about £99.99, with 4.8 from 30 reviews and a 1,200 ml cup. The bullet names two 4,000 mAh packs. The components field says Spray Gun only.

Makita 18 V packs already owned

You want a bare body, not another charger. The Tilswall Shark700 is about £66.48, with 4.6 from 74 reviews, a 1,300 ml container and no battery in the box. It is the best value on that basis. One UK review says similar packs did not fit.

Our recommendation

View offer

Touch-up, not a fence

You need a small bottle for a vehicle, a cabinet or a craft piece. The Lionbow P03 is about £35.99, with 60 ml and 24 ml bottles and a body weight of 413 g. The review texts in the extract are labelled United States.

Upper handheld is the Tilswall at £66.48 if you own Makita 18 V, and the ToCzernobgol at £99.99 with two larger packs named in the bullet. These are the seven shelf prices. The £729.99 airless kit is not a row here.
Do the batteries come in the box?
It depends on the ASIN. Helangel, SenDeluz and Cepolawa name packs and a charger in the included-components line. ToCzernobgol's bullet lists two 4,000 mAh packs, while the components field says Spray Gun only. Tilswall and Longzhuo are Makita 18 V bodies and the titles say no battery. Lionbow lists a charging cable and does not state milliamp hours. A photo of a pack is not the included-components line. Check that line on the listing you buy.
Can you spray standard fence paint?
Not every tin. Listings in this set say suitably thinned paint. Ronseal says standard Fence Life is not for a sprayer. Use Sprayable Fence Life or Fence Life Plus. A larger nozzle is for a heavier coating, not a sign that any fence paint will pass. Do not pour a tin the sheet marks as roller only or airless only. These files do not print coverage in square metres.
Is a cordless paint spray gun the same as an airless sprayer?
No. These seven guns are handheld battery sprayers with the cup on the gun. They are not the Wagner cordless Control Pro, which is airless at 110 bar. HSE flags an injection risk for airless tips. Screwfix listed a Wagner 18 V airless kit at £729.99 including VAT, and that kit is not a row here. If the paint sheet says airless, use the airless paint sprayer comparison instead of forcing that tin through one of these cups.
Should you use a paint sprayer or an airbrush on a wall?
A litre-class cordless paint spray gun in this set is aimed at a fence, a shed or a similar panel. Lionbow's bottles are 60 ml and 24 ml, and those review texts are from the United States. An airbrush is a smaller tool and a different job. How those two jobs split is in paint sprayer or airbrush for walls. HVLP on a title here is not a pressure standard. None of these files prints one.
When should you stop and call a professional?
Call a professional for isocyanate two-pack paint, including a product described as a prepolymer. Filtering masks are not suitable for that coating. It needs a booth and air-fed breathing apparatus. COSHH 2002, regulation 7, binds an employer. A householder on their own shed is outside that duty, and employed solvent spraying still needs an assessment. Also stop for an injection injury, or for a pack that swells, hisses or smokes. Star ratings here are not a safety verdict.

Our verdict

The top pick is Tilswall Shark700, with the highest score in this comparison (9 out of 10, from 74 amazon.co.uk reviews). The best value is the Tilswall Shark700 at about £66.48, with 4.6 from 74 reviews, if you already own a compatible Makita 18 V pack. The title says no battery, and nozzle diameters are not in the bullets. Lionbow is a 60 ml touch-up gun, not a fence sprayer. Longzhuo is £19.99 with 2.0 from 5 reviews, and that sample does not take the best-value badge. None of these seven listings is a lab test.
