Makita 18V paint sprayer no battery

Updated: October 2026

The photo shows a battery clicked on the gun, the basket price looks complete, and the title says the pack is not included. That is the usual way an 18 V body is sold, and it is also how people buy a motor they cannot switch on. This page answers the Makita 18V paint sprayer no battery question for the seven listings in our [cordless paint spray gun comparison](/hub/painting-supplies/cordless-paint-spray-gun). Prices are from amazon.co.uk on 15 October 2026. Packs were not fitted on a bench for this page. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Read the included-components line, not the picture.

What “no battery” means on the tin

Tilswall’s Shark700, ASIN B0GWPR6H9F, is £66.48. The title says No Battery. The included-components field lists a viscosity cup. The star line is 4.6 from 74 reviews. UK reviews say the picture showed a battery that was not in the box. A missing pack is the product, not a fault, when the title says so. It becomes a bad purchase only if you needed that pack today and did not own one. Longzhuo’s GWD0017-0 is £19.99 and also says no battery. It is 2.0 from five reviews, and one UK text says it broke after 20 minutes. The wider fork is the cordless paint sprayer buying guide.

Guns that bring their own packs

Helangel and SenDeluz each list two 3000 mAh packs and a charger. They are 21 V kits, not Makita slide packs, at £33.99 and £29.99. Cepolawa lists two 2000 mAh packs and a charger at £39.99. Its colour cell prints 2x2000mAh, which is a spec field in the wrong place, not a third battery. These are the rows to open if you own no platform and you want to spray without a separate battery order. ToCzernobgol is the awkward case. The bullet lists two 4000 mAh packs and the components field says Spray Gun. Voltage is not stated, so it is not a confirmed Makita body and it is not a confirmed kit. Check the box against both lines. Lionbow sits in neither column: a charging cable, no mAh figure, and 60 ml and 24 ml bottles. Which of the real fence rows suits the job is the best cordless paint sprayer page.

The pack codes are lists, not a promise

Tilswall names BL1860B, BL1850B, BL1840B, BL1830B, BL1820B and BL1815N. Longzhuo names BL1860, BL1830, BL1840, BL1850, BL1815, BL1820 and BL1835. One Tilswall review says similar-looking packs did not seat. Match the code on your pack to the code on that listing.

The other Makita sprayer

Search “Makita 18 V sprayer” and you will also find the DUS054Z. UK Planet Tools describes it as an 18 V 5 L garden sprayer for watering and pesticide, not as a paint gun. Bare is normal on other brands, and the platform still has to match. Wickes lists the Einhell TC-SY 18/60 Li bare at £71, on Power X-Change, without a battery or charger. An Einhell pack does not run a Tilswall gun. Under the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016, regulation 3, the 18 V gun sits outside the mains window and a 230 V charger does not.

A kit can still be flat by the second panel

Buy the bare Tilswall if the packs on its list are already charged on your shelf. Buy Helangel, SenDeluz or Cepolawa if the charger must arrive in the same parcel. Leave Longzhuo unless you can treat £19.99 and five ratings as a returnable trial. Leave Lionbow if the job is a fence. Runtime on a real side, and which tin you may spray, is on the cordless fence paint sprayer page. The photo is not the box contents on any of them.

Common questions

Is a missing battery a fault or the product?
On Tilswall and Longzhuo it is the product. Both titles say the battery is not included. UK reviews on Tilswall complain that the photo showed a pack anyway. You have a fault only if the listing’s included-components line promised a pack and the carton did not contain it. Read that line before you order.
Which of these seven include a charger?
Helangel, SenDeluz and Cepolawa name a charger with their own packs. Tilswall and Longzhuo do not include a battery, so they do not include a charger either. ToCzernobgol’s bullet lists two 4000 mAh packs and the components field does not. Lionbow includes a charging cable and no stated mAh. A charger in the kit does not make the packs Makita packs.
Will any 18 V slide pack fit the Shark700?
No. Tilswall names six codes, from BL1860B to BL1815N. One UK review says similar-looking packs did not fit, while other reviewers report that genuine Makita packs worked. Match your pack to that list. Longzhuo’s list is written differently, including BL1835, so a fit on one gun is not proof of a fit on the other.
What is the difference between Tilswall’s named packs and Longzhuo’s list?
Tilswall prints a B suffix, from BL1860B to BL1815N. Longzhuo prints those codes without the suffix and adds BL1835. They are both claimed Makita 18 V bodies. Neither list promises that every 18 V pack will seat. Check the suffix on your own pack before you assume a fit.
Why is Lionbow not in either column?
Lionbow is a 413 g touch-up gun with a charging cable, 60 ml and 24 ml bottles, and no mAh. It does not take a Makita slide pack, and it does not ship two fence-sized batteries. Put it with neither the bare bodies nor the own-pack kits if you are buying for panels.
Is the Makita DUS054Z a paint sprayer?
No. UK Planet Tools describes the DUS054Z as an 18 V 5 L garden sprayer for watering and pesticide. Overseas pages that call the Z version body-only are still describing that garden tool. It is the wrong aisle for fence stain. Do not use a non-UK price as the UK cost.
Does a second small pack mean an afternoon of spraying?
No. A second 3000 mAh pack on Helangel or SenDeluz is a second short run, and UK reviews often put each run at about 5–15 minutes. You may finish a couple of panels and then wait on the charger. For a long side, either more Makita capacity you already own, or a realistic stop, beats hoping the kit lasts the day.
