Cordless fence paint sprayer

Updated: October 2026

You have panels or a shed to coat, and a cordless gun looks quicker than a brush until the tin clogs the nozzle or the pack dies on the second bay. A cordless fence paint sprayer only finishes the side if the product is a sprayable tin and the battery lasts longer than a kettle boil. The seven listings are in our [cordless paint spray gun comparison](/hub/painting-supplies/cordless-paint-spray-gun). Prices and review notes are from amazon.co.uk on 15 October 2026. No test fence was sprayed for this page. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Furniture, cars and indoor emulsion are a different job.

The tin decides, not the gun

Ronseal’s FAQ says you cannot put standard Fence Life in a sprayer. It can clog and damage the machine. The products they point you to are Sprayable Fence Life or Fence Life Plus. If the tin you already own is the standard formula, leave it for the brush and buy the sprayable one. Cuprinol splits the same way. Cuprinol’s own guide for its Fence and Decking Power Sprayer names Cuprinol 5 Year Ducksback Sprayable, Sprayable Fence Treatment, and water-based Decking Oil and Protector. It does not clear Garden Shades, solvent preservers or creosote. SenDeluz’s bullet cites Cuprinol fence paint as an example job. That is listing copy, not Cuprinol approval of this gun. Fence Life Plus is labelled brush or spray, with the maker’s coverage up to 6 m² per litre. That figure is the tin’s, not a measurement of these guns. Thinning and cleaning, once the tin is the right one, are on the how to use a cordless paint sprayer page.

Guns in this folder that can hold a panel’s worth

A sprayable tin still needs a cup that holds more than a sample. ToCzernobgol and Cepolawa are 1200 ml. Tilswall is 1300 ml. Helangel and SenDeluz are 900 ml. Longzhuo is 1000 ml, with the review file dealt with below. Lionbow’s 60 ml and 24 ml bottles, at a stated 413 g, are the wrong row for panels. There is no single crown. The top pick for an own-pack shed or fence is ToCzernobgol if you can live with a stated 2.55 kg and a components field that says Spray Gun while the bullet lists two packs. Cepolawa’s UK texts mention fences too, and one review says only one of the two batteries worked. Named trade-offs are on the best cordless paint sprayer page.

Minutes per pack on a real side

A full cup does not help if the pack is flat. ToCzernobgol’s bullet claims 20–25 minutes per 4000 mAh pack. Cepolawa claims 20 minutes on each 2000 mAh pack, with a recharge of 2–2.5 hours. Those are listing claims. Helangel’s UK texts, across the first 50, often put real pack life at about 5–15 minutes, against a much longer charge. One reviewer was happy with a thick Ronseal one-coat on fence panels. Tilswall reviews assume several Makita packs. One review describes a stable block on 1.5 of a 5.0 Ah pack. Two 3000 mAh packs at 5–15 minutes each are a couple of panels, not a whole boundary. The buying guide separates own-pack kits from bare Makita bodies before you count minutes.

Wind, neighbours, and the clean

Overspray is the part the listing never prices. Health and Safety Executive guidance treats outdoor, lower-solvent work as the lower-risk case, and you still mask what you do not want painted. If the wind takes the mist off the timber, stop. Ronseal says not to empty product into drains, and not to leave product in overnight. A coat left in the cup until morning blocks the next session.

Common questions

Can I pour the Fence Life I already have into the cup?
Only if it is Sprayable Fence Life or Fence Life Plus. Ronseal’s FAQ says standard Fence Life is not for a sprayer and can clog and damage it. Thinning the standard tin by 5 percent does not turn it into the sprayable formula. If your tin is the brush product, keep it for the brush.
Is Ducksback the same as Ducksback Sprayable?
No. Cuprinol’s power-sprayer guide names 5 Year Ducksback Sprayable, not every Ducksback tin. A shop note says the ordinary 5 Year Ducksback is for brush or roller because of wax. Buy the tin that says sprayable. A SenDeluz bullet that mentions Cuprinol is not an approval of the non-sprayable can.
Will two 3000 mAh packs finish a run of panels?
Often no. Helangel and SenDeluz list two 3000 mAh packs, and UK reviews commonly describe about 5–15 minutes of spraying, sometimes about 20. That can cover a short run of panels if the tin is already sprayable. It is a poor plan for a long boundary on one charge cycle. Listing claims of 20–25 minutes on other guns are claims, not those reviews.
Which kept guns are the right size for a fence?
Look at 900 ml and above: Helangel, SenDeluz, Longzhuo, ToCzernobgol, Cepolawa and Tilswall. Lionbow’s 60 ml and 24 ml bottles are not a fence gun. Size is not a recommendation on its own. Longzhuo’s 1000 ml cup sits next to 2.0 stars from five reviews.
What about overspray on the neighbour’s side and the pond?
Mask or sheet anything you cannot repaint, and wait for still air. Mist from a fence gun travels further than a brush drip. Do not spray toward a pond, a car or next door’s paintwork. If the wind is moving the fan off the timber, stop rather than adding another coat to the air.
Do I thin until it sprays, even if the tin says brush only?
No. A brush-only formula can clog the gun, which is why Ronseal refuses standard Fence Life in a sprayer. Thinning is for a product the maker already allows you to spray, and only in the way that datasheet describes. Forcing a wax-heavy tin through a 1 mm nozzle wastes the pack and the tool.
Is a manual Ronseal pump the same tool as these battery guns?
No. A Ronseal pump sprayer is a hand tool with its own instructions, including the warning not to empty it into drains. These amazon guns are battery handhelds with their own cups and packs. You can still follow the same habit: sprayable tin only, no waste down the drain, and no product left in the cup overnight.
