The best Rose balls, compared.
Top pick: NUPTIO 10 white flower hemispheres, 22 cm Best value: HOMCOM pair of 28 cm white hanging rose balls – Two 28 cm hanging balls at about £17.19 with a 30 cm chain, 4.4 from 142, if you can clip the halves and check the colour. Updated October 2026.
A rose ball is a faux flower sphere or half-sphere, not a living standard rose. You buy one in the UK to hang by a door, stand in a pot, or sit on a wedding table without watering. A suitable listing states one diameter in the title and in the dimension line, and it gives a chain or a flat base that matches the job. The petals should be roses rather than baby's breath. Hanging balls of this kind are moulded plastic with a metal chain. Table pieces are silk or polyester domes on a plastic foot. A porch needs a stated chain and hook. A table needs ties and a base. A pot only suits you if you accept wind. Outdoor wording is a bullet, not a weathering test. Polyethylene is sold for outside. Silk is sold for rooms. The [rose ball buying guide](/hub/ornamental-plants/rose-ball/sub/rose-ball-buying-guide) covers form, flower, size and hardware. A UV line is not a light-fastness test. Keep flames away from artificial flowers at home, and in business premises they belong in the fire risk assessment.

Question 1 of 2
Where will it sit?
The NUPTIO ten-pack is ten white hemispheres at 22 by 22 by 12 cm for £95.98, with ten bases and ten ties so two halves can become one ball. The star line is 4.6 from 535 amazon.co.uk reviews. Reviews mention a pretty white look after you fluff the heads. They also mention a smell, loose flowers, a piece that was not round, and a short shipment. The title says rose balls; the bullets describe gypsophila, also called baby's breath, so you may not be buying roses at all. Box contents conflict as well: one line says flower stands are a separate purchase and another lists stands as included. The 22 cm size is at least stated consistently, which helps a matching table run if you have accepted baby's breath and can air a chemical smell rather than treat it as a health finding.
Pros
Cons
Best for: A matching run of white table pieces, if you have accepted baby's breath rather than roses.
Less suitable: You need roses, a listing without a smell note, or a price under this ten-pack.
Specifications
Common questions
Are these roses?
The title says rose balls. The bullets describe gypsophila, also called baby's breath.
What is in the box?
Ten half balls, ten bases, and ten ties. The bullet says flower stands are a separate purchase. Another line lists stands as included, so the box contents conflict.
What do UK reviews mention?
The star line is 4.6 from 535. Reviews mention a pretty white look after fluffing, a smell, loose flowers, a piece that was not round, and a short shipment.
The NUPTIO white pair is two hemispheres on plastic bases, listed at 24 by 24 by 12 cm with 15 flower heads each, for £18.98. The 4.5 from 3,198 reviews is shared with other NUPTIO colours in this set, so that count is not evidence for this white ASIN alone. Shared review texts describe the flowers on dining tables and on a wedding-car shelf, with the base keeping loose stems off the cloth. They arrive packed flat, so the first job is fluffing the heads rather than hanging them. Some buyers expected a larger piece than the 12 cm height. No vase is listed; people in those shared reviews sat the flowers on vases they already owned. Use the star line as a family signal, then judge this colour by the size on the page.
Pros
Cons
Best for: A dining table or a wedding-car shelf, if you will fluff the heads and use your own vase.
Less suitable: You need a review count for this white pair alone, or a piece taller than the 12 cm height.
Specifications
Common questions
Is a vase included?
The listing does not say a vase is included. Buyers in the shared reviews mention sitting the flowers on their own vases.
Are the 3,198 reviews only for this white pair?
No. The same star line and the same early review texts appear on other NUPTIO colour ASINs in this set.
What is the stated size?
The dimension line is 24 x 24 x 12 cm. A bullet says each ball has 15 flower heads.
This NUPTIO pair is two royal blue and white rose hemispheres at £18.98, with a flat base and two ties so you can join the domes into one ball. The same 4.5 from 3,198 star line is printed on other NUPTIO colour ASINs here, including the same early review texts, so do not read it as a count for royal blue alone. The bullets say 24 cm across and 12 cm tall, while the dimension line says 12 by 11 by 11 cm, and those cannot both be the finished size. Vases are not included. The ties are the useful part if you want one sphere rather than two table domes, provided you measure the table before you trust either figure. Weight is listed at 290 g for the pair, which is light to carry and also light if a draught catches an unsecured dome.
Pros
Cons
Best for: You want one sphere from two tied domes, and you will measure the table first.
Less suitable: You need a vase in the box, or a size the bullet and the dimension line agree on.
Specifications
Common questions
Can two halves make one ball?
Yes. The bullets say the two domes can be tied with the included ties.
Does the size agree with itself?
The bullets say 24 cm diameter and 12 cm tall. The dimension line says 12 x 11 x 11 cm.
Is a vase in the box?
No. The bullets say vases are not included.
The dusty rose and white NUPTIO domes follow the same construction at £19.98: two silk hemispheres, a base, and two ties for a full ball. Shared reviews call similar NUPTIO pieces realistic on a table, but the 4.5 from 3,198 line is the same pool as the white and blue ASINs, not a separate dusty-rose sample. One shared review received the wrong colour, which matters when you have ordered a named dusty rose. The bullet says 24 cm by 12 cm while the attribute line says 12 by 11 by 11 cm. Vases are not in the box. The extra pound over the £18.98 blue pair buys the colour name, not a different frame. Check the parcel against the title colour before you set a whole table to match it.
Pros
Cons
Best for: A table colour named dusty rose, after you check the parcel against the title.
Less suitable: You are treating the shared star line as a sample of this dusty rose colour alone.
Specifications
Common questions
What flowers are they?
The title and bullets say roses, dusty rose and white. The attribute material is silk.
Why is the review count the same as the blue pair?
The saved listings print the same 4.5 from 3,198 and the same early UK review texts.
What is not in the box?
Vases are not included. Two ties are included.
These HOMCOM trees are not hanging balls. You get two potted pink ball topiaries, with a 27 cm ball on a stated 60 cm height, at £34.68, and the listing claims no assembly. The star line is 4.5 from 464 amazon.co.uk reviews, and several people say they look realistic beside a front door. The pots are the weak point: reviews say a slight wind knocks them over even though the listing mentions a cement fill. Buyers also found them smaller than the photo, and one review says the pink faded towards white and disputes the UV wording. At 4 kg for the pair they are heavy enough to lift with care, and still light enough that a breezy step can tip them. Treat the outdoor line as a claim, not as proof the colour will hold.
Pros
Cons
Best for: A front door where reviews say they look realistic, if the step is not windy.
Less suitable: A windy step, or a porch hook, because there is no chain and the pots blow over.
Specifications
Common questions
Is this a hanging ball?
No. It is a pair of ball-shaped trees in pots. The bullet gives a 27 cm ball on a 60 cm height. No chain is listed.
Do the pots stay upright?
Several UK reviews say the trees blow over in a slight wind. The listing claims a pot with cement fill.
What is the star line?
4.5 from 464. One review says the pink faded towards white and disputes the UV claim.
The Oairse pair is two dark pink and white silk pieces on bases at £18.99, with cable ties in the box. The star line is 4.5 from only 27 amazon.co.uk reviews, and the only UK review text in this file is "its ok"; German reviews in the file are not used as UK opinion. Size is the real problem: the title says 22 cm, a bullet says 30 cm diameter and 15 cm height, and the dimension line is 17 by 17 by 18.5 cm. The attribute says indoor, so this is not a porch specification even if a question on the page mentions outdoor events. At 820 g the pair is heavier than the 290 g NUPTIO domes, which you notice when you carry both to the table. Until the three size figures agree, measure against the smallest stated number if the cloth is tight.
Pros
Cons
Best for: A silk pair for indoors, if you measure against the smallest stated size.
Less suitable: A porch, or a cloth that only fits one of the three size figures.

Common questions
Which diameter is stated?
The title says 22 cm. A bullet says 30 cm diameter and 15 cm height. The dimension line is 17 x 17 x 18.5 cm.
Are they for outdoors?
The attribute says indoor. A question on the page asks about outdoor events, but the attribute does not say outdoor.
What do UK reviews say?
The star line is 4.5 from 27. The only UK review text is "its ok". Other reviews in the file are from Germany and are not used here.
The Best Artificial hanging ball is one 23 cm white sphere with a galvanised chain already attached, listed at £14.99 on amazon.co.uk. Across 271 reviews the star line is 4.4, and buyers often say it looks pretty from the path rather than in your hands. Up close the petals read as plastic, which is the complaint that keeps returning. Some people found 23 cm smaller than the photograph once the ball was on the hook. Snapped flowers appear in the review notes, so it is worth checking the heads before you leave it outside. One review says the colour had not faded, though that is a single comment, not a weathering test. For a porch you see from the pavement it does the job; for a table where guests stand close, the plastic look is the limit.
Pros
Cons
Best for: A porch you see from the pavement, where a galvanised chain is already attached.
Less suitable: A table where guests stand close, because the petals read as plastic.
Specifications
Common questions
Does it come with a hanging chain?
Yes. The listing says a galvanised hanging chain is supplied attached. The length is not stated in this file.
Is it described as outdoor?
Yes. The title says UV fade protected and the bullets say long-term outdoor use. That is seller wording, not a cited test.
What do the UK reviews mention?
The star line is 4.4 from 271. Reviews mention a pretty look from a distance, a plastic look up close, a smaller size than some expected, and a few snapped flowers.
The HOMCOM listing is two 28 cm white hanging balls at £17.19, each meant to clip from two halves and hang on a 30 cm metal chain. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.4 from 142 reviews. Buyers who wanted garden colour without watering often call the size decent for a pair at that price. The buckles are the recurring snag: UK reviews call them fiddly, and one ball came undone after it was clipped. Gaps in the flower cover show where the halves meet if you do not press them fully home. Some orders placed as white arrived purple, so the colour on the page is not a guarantee of the parcel. The attribute block says indoor while the bullets say indoor and outdoor, so any porch claim is seller wording you should read on the live listing before you leave the pair out.
Pros
Cons
Best for: You want two hanging balls and you can clip the halves onto a 30 cm chain.
Less suitable: You need the white colour to be certain, or you will not press the buckles home.
Specifications
Common questions
How do the halves join?
The bullets say the halves interlock with buckles. UK reviews call that fiddly, and one ball came undone.
Can you hang them?
The bullets state a 30 cm metal chain with a hook. The attribute block says indoor, while the bullets say indoor and outdoor.
Did buyers receive the white pair?
Some UK reviews say a white order arrived purple. The star line is 4.4 from 142.
The Inweder pair is two dusty blue silk hemispheres, stated at 23 cm diameter and about 12 cm tall, for £20.96. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.1 from 55 reviews, lower than the shared NUPTIO 4.5. UK comments that can be used call them good for a wedding and, in one case, bigger than expected; Italian and Spanish reviews in the file are not treated as UK opinion. The 23 cm figure agrees between the bullet and the 23 by 23 by 11 cm dimension line, which is rarer in this set. They are listed as unscented and indoor, with zip ties mentioned and no chain, so they sit on a base or get tied into a kissing ball rather than hanging from a porch hook. Detailed UK sentences are thinner than the review count suggests, so the agreed size is the firmer fact.
Pros
Cons
Best for: A wedding table where 23 cm is agreed and you do not need a chain.
Less suitable: A porch specification, or a buyer who wants a long UK review write-up.
Specifications
Common questions
What size is stated?
Diameter 23 cm, height 12 cm, base about 10 cm. The dimension line is 23 x 23 x 11 cm.
Are they scented?
The attribute scent name is unscented. A bullet says they are free of a pungent smell.
What do UK reviews say?
The star line is 4.1 from 55. The UK lines call them good for a wedding and, in one case, bigger than expected. Italian and Spanish reviews are not used.
The Lucky flower piece is a single white arrangement of roses and hydrangea at £49.99, on a grid base, with floral foam listed among the components. The saved listing has no customer-review line and no review texts, so there is no star rating to lean on. Size is unresolved: the title says 60 cm, a bullet says the pictured ball is 70 cm, and the dimension line is 24 by 40 by 24 cm. The attribute says indoor and outdoor, which is seller wording without a UK review behind it. At 998 g it is a standing arrangement, not a chain ball, and the only image in the file is a small thumbnail. Material is given as faux silk and plastic. Until a UK review count appears, you are buying the listing text, and the three size lines should be treated as a clash rather than a choice of which number you prefer.
Pros
Cons
Best for: You are buying the listing text for a standing rose and hydrangea piece.
Less suitable: You need a star line, an agreed size, or a ball that hangs on a chain.
Specifications
Common questions
How big is it?
The title says 60 cm. A bullet says the pictured ball is 70 cm. The dimension line is 24 x 40 x 24 cm. Those figures are not the same.
Are there UK reviews?
The saved listing has no customer-review line and no review texts.
What is it made of?
The material attribute says faux silk and plastic. Included components list floral foam. Roses and hydrangea are both named.
Ten amazon.co.uk rose ball listings were read from the stored listing files. There was no fade test and no fire test. The number beside each listing is the amazon.co.uk star average expressed out of 100, so 4.4 is 88 and a file with no star line is 0. A shared NUPTIO star line is one pool, not a fresh sample for each colour. The top pick and the best value are not given to the highest star line. The weight below is that star-line score and sums to 100.
Star line
100%The published score is the amazon.co.uk star average on a 100-point scale. Five stars would be 100. A 4.4 line is 88. A 4.5 line is 90, whether the count is 27 or 3,198. A listing with no star line scores 0. The count is reported beside the stars and is not a second score. Where three NUPTIO colours print 4.5 from 3,198 and the same early texts, that block is one pool.
Start with the form, then the flower, then whether the diameter agrees with itself, then the hardware, then the outdoor wording, and only then the stars. The notes below follow that order. None of these listings was fade-tested or fire-tested.
A rose ball on amazon.co.uk is a faux flower sphere or half-sphere, not a living standard rose. UK shoppers buy it to hang by a door, stand in a pot, or sit on a wedding table without watering. Quality shows in a diameter that the title and the dimension line both state, a chain or a flat base that matches the job, and petals that are actually roses rather than baby's breath. Hanging balls in this comparison are moulded plastic with a metal chain.
Polyethylene hanging balls are sold for outside. Silk is sold for rooms and events. Indoor and outdoor on a silk dome is a bullet, not a weathering test. None of these listings cites a light-fastness test. A buyer said pink faded towards white.
Prefer a listing where the title, a bullet and the dimensions match. Oairse states 22 cm, 30 cm and a 17 cm dimension line. Lucky flower states 60 cm, 70 cm and a 24 cm dimension line. Those figures are not a choice of which number you prefer.
Three NUPTIO colours print 4.5 from 3,198 and the same early texts. That is one pool. Do not add the count three times, and do not read it as a sample of one colour. The ten-pack's 4.6 from 535 is a different line.
A full hanging ball, a table hemisphere, or a short ball on a stem in a pot are different products. Flower is rose, mixed rose and hydrangea, or gypsophila. The ten-pack says rose in the title and baby's breath in the bullets, so do not call it a rose ball without that contradiction. Prefer a listing where the title, a bullet and the dimensions match. The 23 cm white hanger states 23 cm in the dimensions. The dusty blue pair states 23 cm in the bullet and in the 23 by 23 by 11 cm line.
A porch needs a stated chain and hook. A table needs ties and a base. A pot only suits you if you accept wind: reviews say a slight wind knocks the potted pair over even though the listing mentions a cement fill. Polyethylene hanging balls are sold for outside. Silk is sold for rooms and events. Indoor and outdoor on a silk dome is a bullet, not a weathering test, and no listing here cites a light-fastness test. A UV line does not mean the colour cannot fade. Read stars once.
Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.
You want a chain ball, and you can clip two halves. The HOMCOM pair is two 28 cm white hanging balls at about £17.19, with a 30 cm metal chain. UK reviews call the buckles fiddly, and one ball came undone. Some orders placed as white arrived purple. The attribute says indoor while the bullets say indoor and outdoor.
You want repeated domes, a base, and you will fluff the heads. The NUPTIO white pair is two hemispheres on plastic bases at about £18.98, listed at 24 by 24 by 12 cm with 15 flower heads each. Shared reviews describe them on dining tables and on a wedding-car shelf. The 4.5 from 3,198 is shared with other NUPTIO colours. No vase is listed.
You need the fire rule, not a star rating, before a ball sits beside candles. In business premises, Kent Fire and Rescue Service treats artificial flowers next to candles and sparklers as a fire risk for the fire risk assessment. No listing here includes a fire-retardant certificate. The Inweder dusty blue pair is the one UK reviews call good for a wedding, and it is listed as indoor.
The top pick is the Best Artificial hanging ball: one 23 cm white sphere at about £14.99, with a galvanised chain already attached. Across 271 reviews the star line is 4.4. Buyers often say it looks pretty from the path. Up close the petals read as plastic, some people found 23 cm smaller than the photograph, and snapped flowers appear in the review notes. One review says the colour had not faded. That is a single comment, not a weathering test. The best value is the HOMCOM pair of 28 cm white hanging balls at about £17.19, 4.4 from 142, on a 30 cm metal chain. The buckles are fiddly, gaps show if the halves are not pressed home, and some white orders arrived purple. The 4.6 from 535 ten-pack is a higher star line and is not the top pick: the title says rose and the bullets say gypsophila.
HOMCOM pair of 28 cm white hanging rose balls
Two 28 cm hanging balls at about £17.19 with a 30 cm chain, 4.4 from 142, if you can clip the halves and check the colour.
