Jarolift insect screen comparison 2026

The best jarolift insect screens, compared.

Top pick: XYGK hook-and-loop sheet Best value: YANGTE four-pack sheets – Highest price-credibility score: four sheets at about £13.99, 4.1 from 4,264 reviews, despite a fibre clash on the listing. Updated October 2026.

Peter F.Editor

A jarolift insect screen, in the manufacturer's range, is a fibreglass mesh for windows and doors, including a telescopic frame that clamps into roller-shutter guides. None of the eleven kits is a jarolift product. You want a window open in hot weather without flies, moths or spiders, and the practical test is whether the tape or magnetic strip stays up and whether you can still use the handle. A stated maximum larger than the opening, and a fixing that matches the handle, matter more than a star line. How to choose a sheet, a magnetic frame, a zip or a shutter clamp is in the [jarolift insect screen buying guide](/hub/hedges-and-privacy-screens/jarolift-insect-screen/sub/jarolift-insect-screen-buying-guide). The range includes a telescopic aluminium frame that clamps into roller-shutter guides, plus made-to-measure pleated screens, door screens and light-well covers.

The best jarolift insect screens in detail

XYGK hook-and-loop sheet

Rank 1

XYGK hook-and-loop sheet

Our view

The XYGK listing is one white polyester sheet at 130 × 150 cm and about £4.19, with hook tape listed as 0.6 cm by 5.6 m. The star line is 5.0 from 3 ratings, and the file behind this comparison has one UK review text, so that perfect score is not a verdict on a summer of use. At 50 g it is the lightest item here. Handle access is not described, and hole size is not stated. A stars-only sum would have put this sheet first. The score here cuts that back because three ratings cannot show whether the tape stays up in a hot week. It is only a trial on one small flat casement if you have checked that 5.6 m of tape against your frame, and it is the wrong buy if you wanted a review pattern you can trust.

Pros

  • About £4.19 for a sheet listed at 130 × 150 cm
  • Polyester is named in the technical table
  • Tape length is stated: 0.6 cm by 5.6 m
  • No drilling

Cons

  • 5.0 from only 3 ratings
  • Handle access is not described
  • 50 g is very light, and hole size is not stated

Best for: You want one cheap trial sheet and you have measured the included tape against a small flat frame.

Less suitable: You are choosing from review volume, or the handle and the mesh aperture matter.

Common questions

How many reviews are behind the five stars?

The listing line is 5.0 from 3 ratings. The saved listing has one UK review text.

Will the tape reach a large window?

The included tape is listed as 0.6 cm by 5.6 m for one 130 × 150 cm sheet. Check that length against your frame.

What is the mesh?

The technical table says polyester. Hole size is not stated.

YANGTE magnetic frame

Rank 2

YANGTE magnetic frame

∼£24

Our view

YANGTE's magnetic screen is listed at a maximum of 110 × 130 cm and about £23.74, with 4.4 from 336 reviews, the highest star line among the magnetic frames here. You lift the screen for the handle. The fixing is a magnetic strip and a PVC strip, and the pack weighs 1.14 kg. The technical table does not name the fibre, so calling it fibreglass would be a guess from this file. Reviews say a short measurement leaves the mesh too small, which is what happens when you measure the glass instead of the frame face. The bullets say the screen is washable and replaceable, without a wash temperature. It suits one opening inside 110 × 130 cm when you accept an unnamed mesh, and it is the wrong box if you need a named fibre or more than one window.

Pros

  • 4.4 from 336 reviews, the highest star line in the magnetic group
  • Maximum 110 × 130 cm is stated
  • Magnetic strip and PVC strip, no drilling
  • Bullets say the screen is washable and replaceable

Cons

  • Mesh fibre is not in the technical table
  • No wash temperature is given
  • Reviews say an undersized measure leaves the mesh too small
  • One window at about £23.74

Best for: You have one opening inside 110 × 130 cm and you can measure the taped face before you cut.

Less suitable: You need a named fibre, a second window, or an opening larger than 110 × 130 cm.

Common questions

What size must the window be under?

The listing maximum is 110 × 130 cm. Reviews say a short measurement leaves the mesh too small.

Can the screen be washed?

The bullets say the screen is replaceable and washable. They do not give a wash temperature.

Is the mesh material named?

The technical table does not name a fibre. Do not treat it as fibreglass from this file alone.

NeatiEase magnetic frame

Rank 3

NeatiEase magnetic frame

∼£27

Our view

The NeatiEase magnetic frame is the top pick in this comparison for a single window up to 100 × 130 cm: white trim, grey fibreglass mesh, about £26.99, and 4.3 from 4,006 amazon.co.uk reviews. You peel the magnetic frame back for the handle, which is the daily job a plain sheet makes awkward. The listing maximum is firm, so an opening larger than 100 × 130 cm is outside the claim, including wider kits further down this page. Bullets say about 10 minutes. UK reviews range from about 20 minutes to several hours, mostly on pushing the white cover strip on, and one review says there was no cutter. At 1.25 kg it is a frame kit, not a folded sheet. It earns the top pick when your taped face is inside that maximum and you will open the window often, and it is the wrong spend if you need four bedrooms or a taller opening.

Pros

  • 4.3 from 4,006 reviews, the largest magnetic review file here
  • Fibreglass and PVC named, grey mesh, white trim
  • Maximum 100 × 130 cm is stated without a second conflicting size
  • Magnetic frame peels back for the handle

Cons

  • Openings over 100 × 130 cm are outside the claim
  • UK reviews often take far longer than the 10-minute bullet
  • One review says no cutter was included
  • About £26.99 for one window

Best for: You have one flat opening inside 100 × 130 cm and you will peel the screen back most days.

Less suitable: The opening is larger than 100 × 130 cm, or you want several windows from about £14.

Common questions

What is the size limit?

The listing says 100 × 130 cm or smaller. A larger opening is outside that claim.

How long does fitting take?

Bullets say about 10 minutes. UK reviews range from about 20 minutes to several hours, mostly on the white cover strip.

Is a cutter included?

The included list is strip, mesh, accessories and a manual. A review says there was no cutter.

UtauHom magnetic frame

Rank 4

UtauHom magnetic frame

∼£28

Our view

The UtauHom magnetic frame is white trim and grey fibreglass net, maximum 100 × 150 cm, listed at about £27.99 with 4.3 from 1,115 reviews. That drop is the tallest magnetic maximum in the set, which is why one roof-window review had only about 4 cm of mesh to spare and still fitted. UK reviews say pushing the white trim onto the magnet is the slow step and can take about an hour, and that you may run out of strip before a second window is finished even when mesh is left. At 1.23 kg it is a similar heft to the other frames. It is the frame when the opening is taller than the 130 cm kits and still inside 100 × 150 cm. It is a tight buy if your roof window leaves less than a few centimetres, and the wrong box if you expected two windows from one kit.

Pros

  • Maximum 100 × 150 cm, the tallest magnetic frame here
  • 4.3 from 1,115 reviews
  • Fibreglass named, grey net, white trim
  • Magnetic mesh lifts for the handle

Cons

  • About £27.99 for one window
  • UK reviews say the white trim can take about an hour
  • Strip often runs out before a second window
  • One roof-window fit had only about 4 cm of mesh to spare

Best for: You have one opening inside 100 × 150 cm, taller than the 130 cm frames, and you can spare mesh at the edges.

Less suitable: You need two windows, or the roof window would leave almost no overlap.

Common questions

What is the maximum size?

100 × 150 cm. One roof-window review had only about 4 cm of mesh to spare, so measure before you order.

Is the white trim easy?

UK reviews say pushing the white trim onto the magnet is the hard step and can take about an hour.

Does one box do two windows?

Reviews say you may run out of strip before a second window is finished, even when mesh is left.

tesa INSECT STOP sheet

Rank 5

tesa INSECT STOP sheet

∼£24

Our view

tesa's INSECT STOP sheet, model 55033-00021-00, is one fibreglass net at 130 × 150 cm, listed at about £23.99 with 4.3 from 1,057 reviews. The bullets say you can open and close the screen, that it is machine washable at 30°C, and that the tape is meant to come off without residue. That residue line is tesa's claim for this product, not a result you can copy onto the cheaper sheets. The colour line says anthracite while the colour field says black, so check the photo before you match a white uPVC frame. UK reviews say hot weather can pull the adhesive off the frame, which is the limit on a south-facing casement. Some reviewers covered two medium windows from the one net. It is the branded hook-and-loop sheet when you want a named fibre and a wash temperature, and a weak saving if you only needed several cheap windows.

Pros

  • Fibreglass named, 130 × 150 cm, at about £23.99
  • 4.3 from 1,057 reviews
  • Bullets say machine washable at 30°C
  • Open-and-close sheet, with a cutter and press tool listed

Cons

  • UK reviews say heat can pull the adhesive off the frame
  • Anthracite in the title, black in the colour field
  • One net at a price close to a magnetic frame
  • Hole size is not printed

Best for: You want one branded fibreglass sheet up to 130 × 150 cm and a stated 30°C wash.

Less suitable: You need four windows for the same money, or the frame sits in full sun and tape lift is your main worry.

Common questions

What size is the net?

130 cm × 150 cm. It is one net, not a multi-pack. Reviews say some people covered two medium windows.

Can it be washed?

The bullets say machine washable at 30°C and that the tape is meant to come off without residue.

Does heat affect the tape?

UK reviews say hot weather can pull the adhesive off the frame. That is a reported fault, not a guarantee it will fail.

MiLeJu magnetic frame

Rank 6

MiLeJu magnetic frame

∼£23

Our view

The MiLeJu kit is one white magnetic frame for openings up to 120 × 130 cm, with fibreglass mesh, listed at about £22.93 and 4.2 from 410 reviews. That maximum is the largest magnetic frame in this set, so a casement under those centimetres can peel the magnetic edge back for the handle instead of taking the whole net down. The listing says the size may vary by 1–3 cm and that you trim it smaller, which is a reason to measure the taped face in millimetres before you order. UK reviews describe the edge flipping shut after you reach through. The box is one window: magnetic strips, mesh, a PVC cover, two wind clips and four corner clips, at 1.25 kg. It is the magnetic option when the 100 × 130 cm frames here are too short, and a poor fit if you wanted several bedrooms from one parcel.

Pros

  • Stated maximum 120 × 130 cm, the largest magnetic frame here
  • Fibreglass mesh is named
  • Magnetic edge peels back for the handle
  • Wind clips and corner clips are listed in the box

Cons

  • Size may vary by 1–3 cm on the listing
  • One window per box, at about £22.93
  • 410 reviews is a thinner file than the 4,000-review magnetic frame
  • Hole size is not printed

Best for: You have one opening under 120 × 130 cm and you want to peel the mesh back for the handle.

Less suitable: You need four windows from one order, or the opening is larger than 120 × 130 cm.

Common questions

What is the largest opening it claims to fit?

The listing says up to 120 × 130 cm, and that you trim it smaller. It also says the size may vary by 1–3 cm.

Can you reach the handle?

UK reviews say the magnetic edge peels back and flips shut. The listing does not include a zip.

Does it need a drill?

No. Fixing is adhesive magnetic strip. A video is mentioned in the listing.

MOEGFY three-pack sheets

Rank 7

MOEGFY three-pack sheets

∼£11

Our view

The MOEGFY three-pack is three white hook-and-loop sheets listed at 130 × 150 cm, at about £11.04, with 4.1 from 4,638 amazon.co.uk reviews. You cut each sheet down and press it onto the hook tape, and the box includes a cutter and a press tool, so a flat casement smaller than that maximum is the job the listing describes. There is no zip, so using the handle means peeling the whole sheet off the tape. The material field is empty, so you cannot treat the mesh as fibreglass from this page. One UK review says the adhesive came away when the net was used as a cat barrier, which matches the point that this is an insect sheet, not a restrictor. It covers three openings for about £11 if you will leave the sheets up, and it is a weak match if the handle sticks into the room or you need a printed hole size for midges.

Pros

  • Three sheets listed at 130 × 150 cm for about £11.04
  • 4.1 from 4,638 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Cutter, hook tape and a press tool are in the box
  • No drilling on a flat frame face

Cons

  • No zip, so the handle means peeling the sheet off
  • Mesh fibre is not stated
  • A UK review says the adhesive failed when it was used as a cat net

Best for: You have up to three flat casements inside 130 × 150 cm and you will leave the sheets up through a hot spell.

Less suitable: The handle sticks out into the room, or you need a stated mesh aperture for midges.

Common questions

Yes. The listing describes a cut-to-size sheet. This size line is 130 × 150 cm.

Is it a cat barrier?

A UK review says not to buy it as a cat safety net because the adhesive came away. It is an insect sheet, not a restrictor.

YANGTE four-pack sheets

Rank 8

YANGTE four-pack sheets

∼£14

Our view

YANGTE's four-pack is four white sheets listed at 1.3 × 1.5 m, four tape rolls and a brush, at about £13.99 with 4.1 from 4,264 reviews. It is the best value pick here when you want the most openings from one parcel among the kits with a large review file, about £3.50 a window if each sheet covers one opening inside that maximum. There is no zip, so you peel the net off the tape to use the handle, which reviewers describe as workable when the handle sticks out and you will not do it all evening. The material line says polyester while the bullets also say fibreglass, so the fibre is not settled. At 220 g for four nets the sheets are light, and hole size is not printed. It is the pack for several flat casements you will leave up through a hot spell, and a poor choice if you need one agreed fibre or a magnetic peel for a kitchen window you open every night.

Pros

  • Four sheets at 1.3 × 1.5 m for about £13.99
  • 4.1 from 4,264 reviews
  • Four tape rolls and a cleaning brush included
  • No drilling

Cons

  • Polyester and fibreglass both appear on the listing
  • No zip, so the handle means peeling the sheet off
  • Hole size is not printed
  • 220 g for four nets is a light build

Best for: You have several flat casements inside 1.3 × 1.5 m and you will leave the nets up.

Less suitable: You open one window many times a day, or you need a single named fibre.

Common questions

How many windows are in the box?

Four nets, each listed at 1.3 m by 1.5 m, plus four tape rolls and a brush.

Which fibre is it?

Do you have to unstick it to use the handle?

There is no zip. Reviews describe peeling the net off the tape, which some people preferred when the handle sticks out.

BKSAI magnetic-slit sheet

Rank 9

BKSAI magnetic-slit sheet

Our view

The BKSAI magnetic-slit sheet is listed at about £7.50 with 3.9 from 379 reviews, and the size lines disagree: the size line says 100 × 130 cm and the bullets say up to 130 × 150 cm. The item-dimensions table shows 33 × 4.5 × 3.3 cm, which reads as a packed size, not a window. Bullets call the mesh fibreglass and describe a magnetic opening so you need not lift the whole sheet. A UK review says a sticking-out handle still pushes the mesh off, and another says it fell off a high roof-style window after a long fit. At 220 g and this price it looks inexpensive until you cannot tell which maximum is real. Order it only if you can live with that conflict, and do not put it on a window you cannot safely reach if the tape lets go.

Pros

  • About £7.50 with a magnetic slit for the handle
  • 3.9 from 379 reviews
  • Bullets name fibreglass
  • No drilling

Cons

  • Size lines conflict: 100 × 130 cm and up to 130 × 150 cm
  • Dimensions table shows 33 × 4.5 × 3.3 cm
  • A review says a protruding handle still pushes the mesh off
  • One high roof-window review says it fell off

Best for: You have measured an opening that is inside the smaller size line and you can reach the frame safely from the floor.

Less suitable: You need one agreed maximum, or the only fitting position is a high roof window.

Common questions

Will a sticking-out handle clear it?

A UK review says the handle pushes the mesh off and that a stand-off frame would be needed. The magnetic slit is meant to avoid lifting the whole sheet.

Is a roof window a good place for it?

Roof windows are named in the bullets. One review says it fell off a high Velux-style window after a long fit.

BKSAI zip sheet

Rank 10

BKSAI zip sheet

∼£13

Our view

The BKSAI zip sheet is one white fibreglass net up to 100 × 130 cm at about £12.99, with 3.9 from 318 reviews. Bullets describe a 38 cm zip you place where the handle is, so you can reach the handle without taking the whole net down. A UK review says to cut the slit and fit the zip on a flat surface before the net is on the window, which is the step that goes wrong if you try it while the sheet is hanging. Another review says it comes off and is not stable enough for a cat in a top-floor flat. The components line says one window net, so do not assume a cutter is in the box. It is the middle option when a magnetic frame is more than you want to spend and a plain sheet blocks the handle, provided the opening is inside 100 × 130 cm.

Pros

  • 38 cm zip for the handle, on a fibreglass sheet
  • Maximum 100 × 130 cm is stated
  • About £12.99, below the magnetic frames
  • No drilling

Cons

  • 3.9 from 318 reviews
  • A review says it comes off and will not hold a cat
  • The zip should be fitted flat, before the net is hanging
  • Components line lists one net, with no cutter named

Best for: You have one opening inside 100 × 130 cm and you want a zip instead of peeling the whole sheet off.

Less suitable: The window is larger than 100 × 130 cm, or you wanted a cat or child barrier.

DDGAO three-pack sheets

Rank 11

DDGAO three-pack sheets

∼£13

Our view

The DDGAO three-pack is three white nets and three rolls of hook tape at about £12.99, with 3.7 from 140 reviews, the weakest star line in this set. The technical table says aluminium and the title describes insect mesh, so the material field conflicts with the product and you should not order it as an aluminium frame. No maximum size is stated, and handle access is not described. UK reviews often say the tape fails quickly, including after a clean with alcohol, and that some buyers then glue it. One review says smaller flies still get through, and no hole size is printed. At 140 g for three nets it is a light parcel, which does not answer the tape complaints. Leave it if you need a stated size or a tape pattern that reads as reliable in this file.

Pros

  • Three nets and three tape rolls at about £12.99
  • No drilling is stated
  • Light parcel at 140 g

Cons

  • 3.7 from 140 reviews, the lowest star line here
  • Material field says aluminium, which conflicts with a net
  • No stated maximum size
  • UK reviews describe tape that fails, including after an alcohol clean

Best for: You already know the delivered sheet size and you are willing to replace the tape if it lets go.

Less suitable: You need a stated maximum, a named mesh, or tape that reviewers in this file treat as reliable.

How we compared

Scores use the eleven amazon.co.uk listings kept in this comparison, priced on 19 October 2026. They are editorial, from 0 to 100, and they are not a laboratory test. A star rating is not a mesh-aperture test. The jarolift Schiebfix listing B00CP3IGYM was unavailable and is not scored. None of these eleven ASINs is a jarolift product. Weights sum to 100. The highest score is the top pick. The highest price-credibility score, on a different listing, is the best value.

Stars on the amazon.co.uk listing, scaled, plus a volume band. A 5.0 from three ratings cannot outrank a 4.3 from thousands of reviews. The block is capped at 35. A star line is not a mesh test.

2

UK listing fit

30%

A stated maximum that agrees with the size line, a handle method you can read (peel, zip, or open-and-close), and a fibre that is named and consistent. Conflicting size or material lines score down.

3

Review notes

20%

A named everyday limit, read against the size of the review file. Tape that reviewers say fails, or a screen that fell off, scores down even when the star line stays above 4.

Value for the job, scored separately from the top score. Four sheets with a large review file score higher here than one dearer magnetic frame.

Jarolift insect screen buying guide

Match the fixing to the handle, then the stated maximum to the taped face. A star line is not a hole size, and none of these eleven kits is a jarolift Schiebfix.

What is a jarolift insect screen?

A jarolift insect screen, in the manufacturer's range, is a fibreglass mesh product for windows and doors. The range includes a telescopic aluminium Schiebfix frame that clamps into roller-shutter guides, plus made-to-measure pleated screens, door screens and light-well covers. On amazon.co.uk on 19 October 2026 the Schiebfix listing B00CP3IGYM was unavailable. This page therefore compares eleven DIY window kits from other brands, about £4.19 to about £27.99.

Best for

  • A flat where you want night air without flies or spiders, and you can clean a uPVC frame and trim mesh
  • A renter who needs a no-drill fix and accepts that adhesive may mark the frame

Not ideal for

  • A sash, roof window, or roller-shutter guide you have not measured, including a Schiebfix that is out of stock
  • Anyone who wants a child, cat, or fire barrier, or a printed hole size for midges

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Measuring the glass

Measure the frame face you will tape. Reviews on the YANGTE magnetic frame say a short measurement leaves the mesh too small.

  2. 2

Treating the net as a restrictor

A mesh is not a window restrictor and not a cat or child barrier. Keep the restrictor working, and do not use the net as a safety rail on an upper floor.

  3. 3

Reading three stars as a verdict

The XYGK sheet is 5.0 from 3 ratings. That volume is not a summer of use. The Schiebfix listing had no GBP offer, so do not invent one.

What to weigh up

Handle, opening and pack count

High

A flat casement can take a hook-and-loop sheet. A handle that sticks into the room needs a magnetic peel-back or a zip. Measure the taped face in millimetres and keep the stated maximum larger than that opening. Sheet multi-packs cover more windows. Magnetic frames are usually one window, and UK reviews often say the strip runs out before the mesh does. MiLeJu states up to 120 × 130 cm, with a 1–3 cm variance note. UtauHom states 100 × 150 cm, the tallest magnetic maximum here.

Mesh, adhesive and what a screen is not

High

Fibreglass is named on NeatiEase, tesa, MiLeJu, UtauHom and the BKSAI zip sheet. MOEGFY and the YANGTE magnetic frame do not name a fibre. The YANGTE four-pack lists polyester and also fibreglass. DDGAO's material field says aluminium, which conflicts with a net. None of these listings prints a hole size, so the BPCA rule of thumb, about 1.2 mm for mosquitoes and about 0.6 mm for midges, is not a score. tesa says its tape removes cleanly and names a 30°C wash.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

One window you open

You have one flat opening inside 100 × 130 cm and you will peel the screen back most days. The NeatiEase magnetic frame is the top pick at about £26.99, score 86, with 4.3 from 4,006 reviews. Fitting often takes longer than the 10-minute bullet.

Several flat casements

You will leave sheets up on flat casements inside 130 × 150 cm. The YANGTE four-pack is the best value at about £13.99, score 79, with 4.1 from 4,264 reviews. Polyester and fibreglass both appear on the listing, and there is no zip.

A taller single opening

The opening is taller than the 130 cm frames and still inside 100 × 150 cm. The UtauHom magnetic frame is about £27.99, score 81, with 4.3 from 1,115 reviews. Reviews say the white trim can take about an hour, and the strip may not do a second window.

Common questions about jarolift insect screens

Which jarolift insect screen is the top pick?
The top pick is the NeatiEase magnetic frame at about £26.99, score 86. It is one window inside 100 × 130 cm, with grey fibreglass mesh, a peel-back frame, and 4.3 from 4,006 amazon.co.uk reviews. Fitting often takes longer than the 10-minute bullet, and one review found no cutter. Best value is the YANGTE four-pack at about £13.99, score 79, because four sheets sit in one parcel with 4.1 from 4,264 reviews. None of these eleven listings is a jarolift product.
Is a jarolift Schiebfix on this page?
No. Jarolift's own range includes a telescopic Schiebfix frame for roller-shutter guides, plus made-to-measure pleated screens. On 19 October 2026 the amazon.co.uk listing B00CP3IGYM had no featured offer, so there is no GBP shelf price here. The eleven kits compared are other brands. If your window has roller-shutter guides, a stick-on sheet is a different product. Do not borrow a euro price from amazon.de.
What should you measure before you buy?
Measure the frame face you will tape, in millimetres, not the glass. The stated maximum has to be larger than that opening. A 100 × 130 cm kit does not cover a larger sash. A flat casement can take a hook-and-loop sheet. A handle that sticks into the room needs a magnetic peel-back or a zip, or the mesh is pushed off when you close the window. Magnetic frames are usually one window, and reviews often say the strip runs out before the mesh does.
Will the mesh stop midges?
These listings do not print a hole size, so a star rating is not a midge result. The British Pest Control Association's rule of thumb is about 1.2 mm mesh for mosquitoes and about 0.6 mm for midges. That figure is not used as points here, because none of these pages states an aperture. A fine-mesh bullet is not that measurement. NHS advice is that UK insect bites are usually minor. A screen is not a medicine.
Is an insect screen a child or cat barrier?
No. A mesh is not a window restrictor, and it is not a child or cat barrier. Councils, including Kensington and Chelsea, say keep window restrictors working. Jarolift's own Schiebfix text says not to leave that frame unattended with children or pets. A BKSAI review says the zip sheet is not stable enough for a cat. Do not use a net as a safety rail on an upper floor. If the only access is a ladder or an unsafe roof window, call a professional.
Should you choose hook-and-loop or a magnetic frame?
A hook-and-loop sheet suits a flat casement you will leave covered. You peel the whole sheet off the tape to use the handle. A magnetic frame peels back at the edge, which is the daily job if the handle sticks out. tesa says its own tape removes cleanly. Cheap-tape reviews often say the opposite after heat. Renters should assume residue is possible. The magnetic and hook-and-loop guide sets out when each fixing fits.
How much do these screens cost on amazon.co.uk?
On 19 October 2026, shelf prices in this set run from about £4.19 to about £27.99. Entry kits, about £4 to £14, are one to four hook-and-loop sheets. The £4.19 sheet has only three ratings. Mid-price magnetic frames are about £23 to £28 for one window. tesa's branded sheet is about £23.99 and is still hook-and-loop. These are listing prices, not a price index. The Schiebfix had no GBP offer in this check.
Can you cover a trickle vent?
Do not tape over the trickle vent. Approved Document F treats background ventilation as an equivalent area, not an optional extra. There is no British Standard number printed on these DIY kits, and this page does not call them fireproof. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, section 22, you have 30 days to reject goods that are not of satisfactory quality, not as described, or not fit for purpose. For other kits in this hub, see the insect screen comparison.

Our verdict

The top pick is the NeatiEase magnetic frame at about £26.99. It scores 86: grey fibreglass, a stated maximum of 100 × 130 cm, a peel-back frame, and 4.3 from 4,006 reviews. Fitting often takes longer than the 10-minute bullet, and one review found no cutter. Best value is the YANGTE four-pack at about £13.99, score 79. It has the highest price-credibility block because four openings sit in one parcel, with 4.1 from 4,264 reviews, even though polyester and fibreglass both appear on the page. None of these eleven listings is a jarolift product, and the Schiebfix had no GBP offer in this check.
