Best magnetic fly screen window: who should skip it

Updated: October 2026

You want one listing for a stated job: several bedrooms, one window you open every night, or a handle you still have to reach. Stars and a best-seller ribbon do not answer that. This page names the amazon.co.uk kits kept in the [Jarolift insect screen comparison](/hub/hedges-and-privacy-screens/jarolift-insect-screen), with prices from 19 October 2026, and says who should skip each one. There is no single best screen for every frame. The top pick is a magnetic frame when the opening is inside 100 × 130 cm. The best value is a four-pack of sheets when you will leave several nets up. We did not run a lab test. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Several windows, lowest spend

The best value pick for several flat casements is the YANGTE four-pack, ASIN B07R47MDVC, at about £13.99 with 4.1 from 4,264 reviews. Four white sheets are listed at 1.3 × 1.5 m, with four tape rolls and a brush. If each sheet covers one opening inside that maximum, you are near £3.50 a window. You peel the sheet off the tape to use the handle. That is acceptable for a hot fortnight when the nets stay up, and a nuisance if you open the same window all evening. The material line says polyester and the bullets also say fibreglass, so do not treat the fibre as settled, and no hole size is printed. Skip it if the handle sticks out and you will fight the mesh every day. Skip the DDGAO three-pack, B09LLZM6L7, at about £12.99 and 3.7 from 140 reviews: no maximum is stated, the material field says aluminium against a net title, and UK reviews describe tape that fails.

One window you will open every day

The top pick for that daily window is the NeatiEase magnetic frame, B089112KF8, at about £26.99 with 4.3 from 4,006 reviews. White trim, grey fibreglass mesh, maximum 100 × 130 cm, and you peel the magnetic edge back for the handle. The review file is the largest among the magnetic kits, and the size lines agree. Anything wider or taller is outside the claim. Bullets say about 10 minutes. UK reviews often describe 20 minutes to several hours, mostly pushing the white cover strip on, and one buyer found no cutter. If the opening is larger than 100 × 130 cm and still inside 120 × 130 cm, MiLeJu B0F1T4YDV2 at about £22.93 is the magnetic frame with the largest maximum here, 4.2 from 410 reviews, fibreglass, with a note that size may vary by 1–3 cm. UtauHom B0CSYNSLGR at about £27.99 stretches the drop to 100 × 150 cm, 4.3 from 1,115 reviews. On these frames, reviewers say the strip can run out before a second window is finished. None of them is the jarolift clamp frame, and that listing had no GBP price in this check.

A handle you must reach

A plain sheet blocks a handle that projects into the room. The BKSAI zip sheet, B0G64CXMTV, is the kit in this set that tries to solve that without a full magnetic frame: white fibreglass, up to 100 × 130 cm, about £12.99, 3.9 from 318 reviews, with a 38 cm zip in the bullets. A UK review says to cut the slit and fit the zip on a flat table before the net is hanging. Another says the sheet comes off and is not stable enough for a cat in a top-floor flat. Skip it above 100 × 130 cm, and do not buy it as a safety rail. The other BKSAI, B0GHQCLTYZ at about £7.50, is a magnetic-slit sheet, and the size lines disagree: 100 × 130 cm on the size line and up to 130 × 150 cm in the bullets. If the zip's 100 × 130 cm limit is too small and you still need daily access, go back to MiLeJu's 120 × 130 cm magnetic frame.

A named brand rather than the cheapest net

tesa's INSECT STOP, B001ULCOHK, is the branded hook-and-loop sheet: fibreglass, 130 × 150 cm, about £23.99, 4.3 from 1,057 reviews, model 55033-00021-00. The bullets say the screen can be opened and closed, that it is machine washable at 30°C, and that the tape is meant to come off without residue. That wash and residue language is tesa's for this range, not a result we measured and not a claim for the no-name packs. UK reviews say hot weather can pull the adhesive off the frame, so a south-facing uPVC casement is the skip case. At this price you are next to a magnetic frame, so choose tesa when you want a named fibre and a stated wash, and choose NeatiEase when the daily peel matters more than the brand on the tape. None of the eleven kits is jarolift. If you still need the fixing argument without prices, use the buying guide and the magnetic versus hook-and-loop page.

Common questions

Which magnetic frame is the largest?
MiLeJu B0F1T4YDV2 states the largest magnetic maximum in this set, 120 × 130 cm, at about £22.93, and it warns that size may vary by 1–3 cm. UtauHom is taller on the drop, 100 × 150 cm, but narrower than 120 cm. NeatiEase stops at 100 × 130 cm. Measure the taped face and pick the maximum that is still bigger than that rectangle.
Which pack covers the most windows for the least money?
The YANGTE four-pack at about £13.99 covers four openings inside 1.3 × 1.5 m, which is the best value pick in this comparison. The MOEGFY three-pack at about £11.04 costs less at the till and has more reviews, with one fewer sheet. Both are hook-and-loop. A magnetic frame is one window at about £23 to £28.
Is tesa worth more than a no-name sheet?
It is worth the gap when you want fibreglass named on the listing, a 30°C wash line, and a residue claim that belongs to tesa rather than to every cheap tape. At about £23.99 it is close to a magnetic frame. It is poor value when you need four windows, and heat can still lift the tape on a sunny frame.
What should I skip if my window is over 120 cm wide?
Skip every magnetic frame in this set. MiLeJu's ceiling is 120 × 130 cm. NeatiEase, YANGTE's magnetic frame and the BKSAI zip are smaller. A hook-and-loop sheet listed at 130 × 150 cm can still be cut to a wide casement if the height also fits. A wider opening than 130 cm is outside those sheets too.
