Double swing comparison 2026

The best double swings, compared.

Top pick: Outsunny two-seat kids swing chair Best value: Outsunny two-seat kids swing chair – Best score per pound after the thin-sample penalty, as a belted toddler chair rather than a lawn frame. Updated October 2026.

A double swing is a seat for two that moves together. On UK garden-furniture pages the name usually means a two-person canopy chair. The same search also covers a children's frame with two seats, a glider beside those seats, one shared nest, a short rocking bench with belts, and a wooden seat that hangs from a beam. Tell a suitable one apart by the support. A lawn frame needs anchors that match the ground, whether grass pegs or a concrete footing. A hanging seat needs a beam or joist a competent person has checked. A short rocking bench is neither. Use the lowest load the title and the specification field both print. If those rows disagree, the higher figure is not agreed. Confirm the seats are in the carton. The photo is not the box. Play sets for children under 14 fall under the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011 and should say "Only for domestic use". Footprint, anchors and that load check are in the [double swing buying guide](/hub/garden-furniture/double-swing/sub/double-swing-buying-guide).

The best double swings in detail

Outsunny two-seat kids swing chair

Rank 1

Outsunny two-seat kids swing chair

∼£47

Our view

Outsunny's two-seat chair is the small end of this set: 110 × 110 × 70 cm, 10 kg, and £46.99, with an adjustable canopy and two seatbelts. The bullets say ages 3–6, a 3+ qualification, and 60 kg, while the age field says 0–3 years, which you should not read as a baby swing. It is 4.9 from 13 reviews, so the star line is high and the sample is thin. This is the only listing here that names EN 71-1, EN 71-2, EN 71-3, and EN 71-8. Anchors are not stated, and the chair is a rocking toddler bench rather than an A-frame you peg into a lawn. It is the best value in this set on score against price, as a belted patio chair for two small children, not as a substitute for a metal swing frame.

Pros

  • £46.99 with an adjustable canopy and two seatbelts
  • Bullets name EN 71-1, EN 71-2, EN 71-3, and EN 71-8
  • 60 kg stated, on a footprint of about 110 × 110 × 70 cm
  • 4.9 from the 13 reviews on the listing

Cons

  • Only 13 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Age field says 0–3 while the bullets say 3–6
  • No ground stakes stated, and it is not an A-frame

Best for: Two children about 3–6 on a patio, inside 60 kg, where a small belted chair is what you actually want.

Less suitable: Older children, a lawn frame you need to anchor, or an adult two-seater canopy chair.

Common questions

Does the Outsunny chair include seatbelts?

Yes. The bullets and the included-components line list two seatbelts.

What age and weight do the bullets state?

Ages 3–6, qualified age 3+, and 60 kg. The age field says 0–3 years, which does not match the bullets.

Which standard does the listing name?

The bullets say EN71-1-2-3 and EN71-8. That string is not on the other listings in this set.

Zero Gravity UFO nest swing

Rank 2

Zero Gravity UFO nest swing

∼£93

Our view

The Zero Gravity UFO is a nest on a powder-coated frame at £93.46, about 186 × 180 × 185 cm, and the bullets put two children at 45 kg each and 90 kg combined. The maximum weight field also says 90 kg, while the seat-count field says 1, so follow the bullets and the weight field and still notice the clash. It is 4.7 from 616 amazon.co.uk reviews, the largest sample in this comparison, with a one-year warranty plus ground stakes and tools. The frame field says stainless steel while the material line says alloy steel, so do not describe it as stainless until you have checked the carton. Reviews mention the seat sitting high for a 3-year-old and children lying down, which is a fit note rather than a medical claim. It is the top pick here for a shared nest with that review count, at a lower shelf price than the Magic Carpet. Skip it if you need two separate seats or a harness, which the bullets do not describe.

Pros

  • 4.7 from 616 reviews, the largest sample here
  • 90 kg combined on the bullets and the weight field
  • Ground stakes, tools, and a one-year warranty
  • Lower shelf price than the Magic Carpet nest in this set

Cons

  • Seat-count field says 1 while the bullets say two children
  • Frame field says stainless steel and the material line says alloy steel
  • No harness in the bullets
  • Reviews say the seat can sit high for a 3-year-old

Best for: Two children sharing one UFO nest inside 90 kg, where you want the deepest review sample in this set.

Less suitable: You need a belt seat each, a proven stainless frame, or a toddler who cannot reach a high nest.

Common questions

Does the UFO swing include a safety harness?

The listing asks the question. The bullets do not describe a harness. They describe a nest on plastic-covered chains.

What combined weight do the bullets state?

45 kg for each child and 90 kg combined. The maximum weight field is 90 kg. The seat-count field says 1.

Is assembly tool-free?

No. Assembly required is yes, and the bullets include tools.

Zero Gravity Magic Carpet nest swing

Rank 3

Zero Gravity Magic Carpet nest swing

∼£110

Our view

Zero Gravity's Magic Carpet is a rectangular nest on a powder-coated frame, listed at 190 × 180 × 186 cm and £109.95, for two children at 45 kg each and 90 kg combined. Those load lines agree, which is uncommon in this set. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.7 from 378 reviews. The bullets include ground stakes and assembly tools, and a spare-part duration of three years is listed even though the warranty field is empty. The age field runs from 36 months to 10 years. Amazon reviews mention children lying down and two children together, and also rust within about a year, so a fabric nest left out through a wet winter is a real risk. Reviews also describe the frame rocking before the stakes are fitted. It is the rectangular nest to look at if you accept the higher price next to the UFO and you will stake it before the first swing.

Pros

  • 45 kg each and 90 kg combined, repeated on the listing
  • 4.7 from 378 amazon.co.uk reviews
  • Ground stakes and tools in the bullets
  • Rectangular nest that reviews describe for two children together

Cons

  • £109.95, above the UFO nest in this set
  • A rust-within-a-year report in the Amazon reviews
  • Reviews describe rocking before the stakes are in
  • No harness described

Best for: Two children who will share one rectangular nest inside 90 kg, on a lawn you can stake.

Less suitable: You need two independent swings, or you will store a fabric seat outdoors through a wet UK winter.

GYMAX kids double swing, saucer and belt

Rank 4

GYMAX kids double swing, saucer and belt

∼£99

Our view

The GYMAX kids frame is listed at 1.85 × 2.49 × 1.8 m and £98.95 on amazon.co.uk, with a saucer on a 90–160 cm rope and an EVA belt seat beside it. The title prints 300 kg and the maximum weight field prints 150 kg, so you should keep the lower figure in view rather than treat 300 kg as an agreed rating. The star line is 4.4 from 14 reviews, a thin sample next to the nest swings in this set. UK reviews dispute whether both seats arrive with the frame, which means the photo is not proof of the carton. The frame field says polyethylene while the description talks about metal pipes, and those two rows should stay separate. Ground stakes are claimed, and assembly is required. It is only a workable two-position set if you confirm the seats are included.

Pros

  • Saucer plus an EVA belt seat on one A-frame
  • Saucer rope range stated as 90–160 cm
  • Ground stakes claimed in the title and the bullets
  • Footprint listed at 1.85 × 2.49 × 1.8 m

Cons

  • Title says 300 kg and the weight field says 150 kg
  • UK reviews dispute whether both seats are in the box
  • Frame field says polyethylene against a metal description
  • Only 14 amazon.co.uk reviews

Best for: A garden where you want a saucer and a belt on one frame and you can confirm both seats are in the carton.

Less suitable: You need one agreed kilogram line, or you are buying from the photo without checking the included-components list.

Furinno Tioman hanging porch swing

Rank 5

Furinno Tioman hanging porch swing

∼£146

Our view

The Furinno Tioman is a meranti hanging porch swing at £145.83, with chains and no freestanding frame, so it will not stand on a lawn by itself. The bullets give about 112.3 × 59.4 × 59.99 cm and 156 kg, while another field prints different dimensions and a maximum weight of 220 pounds, which is not the same figure and should not be turned into a new kilogram rating. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.3 from 555 reviews, but only two of the first 50 stored reviews are from the United Kingdom, so most of that sample is not British experience. A one-year limited warranty is stated. The components line does not include a cushion, and an age field that says 0 months is not a baby-swing claim on a porch seat. It is the porch option in this set if you already have a beam or joist that a competent person has checked.

Pros

  • Hanging meranti seat with chains, 4.3 from 555 reviews
  • One-year limited warranty on the listing
  • The only porch swing in this comparison
  • Seat depth listed at 60 cm

Cons

  • Needs a beam and will not stand on the grass
  • The bullets say 156 kg and the weight field says 220 pounds
  • Only two of the first 50 stored reviews are from the UK
  • No cushion in the included components

Best for: Two adults who already have a sound porch beam and want a wooden hanging seat.

Less suitable: A lawn with no beam, a children's play frame, or a freestanding canopy chair.

Common questions

Does the Furinno swing stand on the lawn by itself?

No. It is a hanging porch swing with chains. The listing does not include a freestanding frame or ground anchors.

Does it come with a cushion?

What load is printed?

The bullets say 156 kg. The maximum weight field says 220 pounds. The two lines are not the same figure.

Plum Play two-seater boat nest swing

Rank 6

Plum Play two-seater boat nest swing

∼£84

Our view

Plum's boat nest is the shortest frame in the nest group, listed at 155 × 165 × 184 cm and 14 kg, for £84.00, with a 100 kg combined limit that the title, the bullets, and the weight field all repeat. That agreement is the useful part. The star line is 4.3 from 24 reviews, which is a thin sample. The title says 3+ while the age field says 0–3 years, and the description says not under 36 months, so ignore the 0–3 field. UK reviews say the included pegs are for concrete and are poor in grass, and one review says the nest flips when weight goes on the end. Plum also states a 2 m safety perimeter. It suits a smaller garden if you can concrete the feet and both children stay inside 100 kg.

Pros

  • 100 kg combined on the title, the bullets, and the weight field
  • Compact frame at 155 × 165 × 184 cm
  • £84.00, below both Zero Gravity nests
  • Ground pegs included in the box

Cons

  • UK reviews say the pegs are for concrete, not grass
  • The nest can flip when weight goes on the end
  • Only 24 reviews, and the age field says 0–3 against a 3+ title

Best for: A shorter boat nest where you can set the feet in concrete and keep a 2 m clear perimeter.

Less suitable: A grass-only garden, or a child who has to climb on from the end of the nest.

TP Toys metal swing with glide ride

Rank 7

TP Toys metal swing with glide ride

∼£80

Our view

The TP520 is a powder-coated steel frame at £79.99, about 185 cm high and 292 cm wide, with two seats, a glide ride, and ground stakes in the included components. The bullets state 50 kg per seat and up to four users, while the seat-count field says two, so the 50 kg line is the figure that also appears in the maximum weight field. The amazon.co.uk line is 4.1 from 80 reviews, and the listing gives a 12-month warranty. Amazon reviews include a snapped bar and a broken leg, so the price is not a reason to ignore those break reports. Seat height is adjustable and assembly is required. One size row prints the seat depth as 2 m, the same figure as the frame depth, which you should not use as the seat measurement. It is a sensible first metal set if you want separate seats plus a glider and you will anchor it before anyone swings.

Pros

  • Two seats and a glide ride at £79.99
  • 50 kg per seat in the bullets and the weight field
  • Ground stakes included and a 12-month warranty
  • 4.1 from 80 amazon.co.uk reviews

Cons

  • Amazon reviews include a snapped bar and a broken leg
  • Bullets say up to 4 users and the seat field says 2
  • A size row repeats the frame depth as the seat depth

Best for: A first metal set with separate seats and a glider, on a level lawn you can peg before children use it.

Less suitable: You want a shared nest, or a cracked bar in the reviews is enough for you to leave this price band.

HLC A-frame with two seats and glider

Rank 8

HLC A-frame with two seats and glider

∼£80

Our view

The HLC set sits in the same £79.99 band as the TP520, at about 1.54 × 3.12 × 1.85 m, with two U-shaped seats and a two-person glider on a powder-coated alloy-steel frame. The title says 440 lb, the bullets also say 120 lb per seat and 440 lb total, and the maximum weight field says 120 pounds, so you cannot quote one load without showing the clash. It scores 3.9 from 47 reviews, the weakest star line in this set, with ages given as 3–10. Ground anchors are included and a review says tools were in the box, though assembly is still required. Amazon reviews mention wobble and weld problems, and some buyers say the set feels small for children of about 6 or 7 within a year. At 3.12 m wide it needs a long run of lawn before you add any swing arc.

Pros

  • Two seats and a glider at £79.99
  • Ground anchors included
  • Age line on the listing is 3–10 years
  • About 3.12 m of frame width when the lawn is long enough

Cons

  • Title, bullets, and weight field do not agree on the load
  • 3.9 from 47 reviews, with wobble and weld complaints
  • Reviews say it feels small for children around 6 or 7

Best for: A wide lawn, if you will use the 120 pound field rather than the 440 lb title.

Less suitable: You need one consistent load figure, or the garden is narrower than the 3.12 m frame plus its arc.

How we compared

Shelf prices, star lines and review counts are the amazon.co.uk figures in this set on 21 October 2026. This is not a lab test and not a safety ranking. The four weights below sum to 100. A listing with fewer than 30 reviews takes a further deduction, and so does an Amazon review that reports a snapped bar, a weld fault or rust within about a year. Scores are rounded to the nearest whole number. A star line is not a safety test.

Double swing buying guide

Choose the type first, then the footprint and the swing arc, then the lowest load the listing actually repeats. Anchors have to match grass or concrete, and the photo is not the carton. Prices below are amazon.co.uk lines for these eight extracts on 21 October 2026, not a UK-wide index. This is not a lab test.

What is a double swing?

A double swing, on UK garden-furniture searches, is usually a two-person canopy chair. What sits under the same words is broader. One type is a children's A-frame with two seats, sometimes with a glider as well. Another is a shared nest, rectangular or round, for two children on one seat. A third is a short toddler bench with a canopy and two belts. A fourth is a hanging porch seat with chains and no freestanding frame.

Best for

  • Parents choosing two seats or one shared nest for domestic use
  • Adults who already have a sound porch beam for a hanging seat

Not ideal for

  • A school, nursery or pub, which sits outside this domestic set
  • A grass-only garden when the pegs are described for concrete

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

Mixing a canopy chair with a children's frame

A general search is full of adult freestanding canopy chairs. Most of the listings here are children's frames, a shared nest, a short belted chair, or one hanging porch seat. Those are different products.

  2. 2

    Quoting the higher load

If the title and the weight field disagree, the higher number is not an agreed rating. Do not turn a pound figure into a new kilogram claim. A star line is not a safety test.

  3. 3

    Assuming every peg suits grass

Pegs described for concrete are a poor match for a lawn. A fabric nest left out through a wet winter is a separate risk, and the photo is not proof that both seats are in the carton.

What to weigh up

Type, footprint and load

High

Type comes first. A children's A-frame may carry two seats, or two seats and a glider. A shared nest is one seat for two children, rectangular or round. A toddler bench is a short chair with a canopy and belts. A hanging porch seat has chains and no standing frame. Adult freestanding canopy chairs are what a general search expects, and they are almost absent here. Footprint is the frame plus the arc. The widest metal frame here is about 3.12 m. The toddler chair is about 110 × 110 × 70 cm.

Box, anchors and age

High

Every set in this comparison needs assembly. The photo is not the carton. On one saucer-and-belt frame, UK reviews dispute whether both seats arrive with the frame, so check the included-components line before you treat the picture as the box. Ground stakes are claimed on several metal frames and stated as included on the shared nests that also list tools. A boat nest includes ground pegs, and UK reviews say those pegs are for concrete and are poor in grass.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Parents sharing a nest

You want two children on one nest. Reviews that mention lying down are a parent report, not a medical claim. The UFO bullets say 45 kg each and 90 kg combined, and this listing has the largest review sample in the set. The seat-count field says 1, and the bullets do not describe a harness.

A first metal set

You want a first metal frame near the entry price and you still need a level lawn and the right anchors. The TP listing includes two seats, a glide ride and ground stakes, and it states 50 kg per seat. Amazon reviews include a snapped bar and a broken leg, so peg it before anyone swings.

A porch with a beam

You already have a sound beam and you want a wooden hanging seat for two adults. The Furinno listing is meranti with chains and no freestanding frame. The bullets say 156 kg and the weight field says 220 pounds, so those lines are not one figure. Do not hang it from plasterboard or a screw hook.

Common questions about double swings

Which double swing is the top pick in this set?
The top pick is the Zero Gravity UFO nest, the highest score in this set. amazon.co.uk shows 4.7 from 616 reviews. The bullets and the weight field both say 45 kg each and 90 kg combined, while the seat-count field says 1. Ground stakes, tools and a one-year warranty are listed. The bullets do not describe a harness, and the frame field says stainless steel against an alloy-steel material line. The score is not a safety test.
Which listing is the best value?
Best value is the Outsunny two-seat chair at £46.99. It has the best score per pound after a thin-sample penalty: 4.9 from 13 reviews. The bullets include an adjustable canopy, two seatbelts, ages 3–6 and 60 kg, and they name EN 71-1, EN 71-2, EN 71-3 and EN 71-8. The age field says 0–3 years, which does not match the bullets. It is a rocking toddler chair, not an A-frame you peg into a lawn.
How much does a double swing cost on amazon.co.uk?
For these eight extracts only, and not as a market census, entry is under £80: the toddler chair and the two glider frames. Mid is £80 to £110: the boat nest, both shared nests and the saucer-and-belt frame. The hanging porch seat is the upper end of this sample. Adult canopy chairs, and wooden nest frames on a brand site, sit outside these bands. Shelf prices move, and the bands are a rule of thumb for this set.
Which weight figure should you trust?
Trust a load only when the title and the specification field print the same figure. Where they clash, keep the lower number in view and do not convert pounds into a new kilogram rating. One title says 300 kg and the weight field says 150 kg. Another title says 440 lb while the field says 120 pounds. A porch bullet says 156 kg and the field says 220 pounds. Those pairs are not one agreed rating.
Will the pegs in the box suit a lawn?
Not always. Several metal frames and both shared nests list ground stakes in the bullets. The boat nest includes ground pegs, and UK reviews say those pegs are for concrete and are poor in grass. A fabric nest can rock before the stakes are fitted. Match the anchor to soil or concrete. Do not assume every peg suits every lawn.
Does a named EN 71 line mean every swing here is certified?
No. Do not call a set certified unless the listing names the standard. Only the toddler-chair bullets name EN 71-1, EN 71-2, EN 71-3 and EN 71-8. BS EN 71-8 is the domestic activity-toy standard. BS EN 1176 is for public play areas. Children's sets for under-14s are toys under the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011, which exclude public playground equipment, and they should say "Only for domestic use". A porch seat sold as adult furniture is not that toy frame.
Can a hanging double swing stand on the grass?
No. A hanging porch swing has chains and no freestanding frame, so it will not stand on a lawn by itself. It needs a beam or joist a competent person has checked. Do not hang it from plasterboard or a screw hook. The bullets on the porch seat say 156 kg and the weight field says 220 pounds, which are not the same figure. A freestanding two-person canopy chair is a different product, covered in the 2-seater garden swing comparison.

Our verdict

The Zero Gravity UFO nest is the top pick: the highest score in this set, 4.7 from 616 reviews, with 90 kg combined on the bullets and the weight field. The seat-count field still says 1, and the bullets do not describe a harness. The Outsunny two-seat chair is the best value on score against price. It is a belted toddler chair with a canopy, not a lawn frame, and the sample is 13 reviews. Neither award is a lab test or a safety ranking.
