Updated: 22 October 2026

“Mini” on amazon.co.uk covers a saw stated at 27 mm and a saw stated at 48 mm. If the board is thicker than the printed depth at 90°, feeding harder will not close the gap. What 85 mm is for

In this set, 85 mm means two corded saws. The Enventor 76601L-1 at £49.99 states 0–27 mm, weighs 2.5 kg, and shows 4.1 from 986 reviews, with a 10 mm bore printed. The GALAX PRO at £42.99 shows 4.4 from 191 reviews and prints both 28.5 mm and 27 mm. Neither prints a 45° depth. An 18 mm sheet sits inside 27 mm. A 47 mm stud does not. Setting the tooth just through the board is on the how to use a mini circular saw page.

What 115 mm adds

A bevel depth appears on the 115 mm rows. The Enventor 705 W states 42.8 mm and 28 mm. The DOVAMAN states 43 mm and 29 mm. The HYCHIKA states 48 mm and 32 mm. The Enventor 580 W 115 mm states 0–43 mm, while the title prints 43 mm/29 mm. A 30 mm board that fits at 90° can be too thick at 45°, because those bevel figures are 28–32 mm. The 90° captures are 42.8 mm, 43 mm and 48 mm, not one “about 40”.

Read the depth that is actually printed

The GALAX PRO prints 28.5 mm and 27 mm. The Enventor 580 W 115 mm bullet says 0–43 mm and the title says 43 mm/29 mm. Plan to the lower number if the board has to clear. The HYCHIKA’s 48 mm and 32 mm are the deepest corded pair, at £36.54, with 17 reviews and a 750 W title against a 1,300 W components line. Depth can be quoted. Wattage cannot. The Enventor 85 mm blades print a 10 mm bore, DeWalt’s DCS571N prints 9.5 mm on one table, and none of these boxes lists a reducer. That check order is in the mini circular saw buying guide.

When neither size is the saw

The JOJOCY at £58.99 is a 150 mm bare saw, stated up to 50 mm, and also 25 mm on the 125 mm blade. It is not an 85 mm or 115 mm saw. A 165–190 mm circular saw leaves this category. DeWalt’s DCS571N is not in this comparison: its overview states 38 mm and 25 mm, and other brand tables differ. Inside 27 mm, with no bevel, stay with 85 mm.

Common questions

Is 85 mm enough for 18 mm OSB or laminate?
Yes, on the figures printed here. The Enventor 85 mm states 0–27 mm, and the GALAX PRO states 28.5 mm and 27 mm. An 18 mm sheet sits inside both. Leave a margin under the stated maximum rather than setting the saw to the last millimetre. Neither listing prints a 45° depth, so a bevelled edge on that sheet is a different question and, in this set, a 115 mm question.
Can I cross-cut a 47 mm stud with an 85 mm saw?
No. A 47 mm stud is deeper than 0–27 mm and deeper than 28.5 mm. The blade diameter does not grow because the motor is running. Use a 115 mm saw whose 90° depth is printed above the stud, such as the 42.8 mm, 43 mm or 48 mm claims, and still leave a margin. Structural studs in a wall are a job for someone set up to do that work.
Which saws in this set actually state a 45° depth?
The Enventor 705 W states 28 mm at 45°. The DOVAMAN states 29 mm. The HYCHIKA states 32 mm. The Enventor 580 W 115 mm title prints 43 mm/29 mm beside a 0–43 mm bullet. The DCA, which is 125 mm, states 33 mm at 45°. The two 85 mm saws do not print a 45° depth. The JOJOCY states a 0–45° range and does not print the depth at 45°.
Why is bevel depth so much lower?
Tilting the shoe presents the blade at an angle, so less of the diameter is available as vertical depth. On these listings the drop is large: 43 mm at 90° beside 29 mm at 45° on the DOVAMAN, and 42.8 mm beside 28 mm on the Enventor 705 W. A board that clears at 90° can bind at 45°. Measure the thickness along the angled cut, not the face thickness alone, before you lock the latch.
Is 115 mm the same as 5 inch, and where does 150 mm sit?
115 mm is about 4.5 inch. A “5 inch” title, such as the HuuppHip, is nearer 127 mm, and the DCA is sold as 125 mm. The JOJOCY is 150 mm, about 6 inch, with 125 mm blades also in the box. Those are three sizes. A 5 inch nickname on a listing that also prints 1.6 inch of depth is a contradiction to resolve, not a synonym for 115 mm.
