Mini circular saw buying guide

Updated: 22 October 2026

The shelf calls everything a mini circular saw, from an 85 mm saw stated at 27 mm to a bare 150 mm tool that expects a battery you already own. Decide the board thickness, then the blade and its bore, then whether you are beside a socket. A high average from 17 reviews is not the same evidence as 2,050. This mini circular saw buying guide uses the ten amazon.co.uk listings in our [mini circular saw comparison](/hub/power-saws/mini-circular-saw), captured on 20 October 2026, from about £36.54 to £129.99. Start with the thickness

Measure the thickest piece, then compare it with the depth printed at 90°. An 18 mm sheet sits inside every stated depth here. A 47 mm stud does not. The Enventor 76601L-1 stops at 0–27 mm. The GALAX PRO prints 28.5 mm and 27 mm, and neither 85 mm listing prints a 45° depth. Feeding harder will not finish a cut past that figure. The 125 mm DCA and the 150 mm JOJOCY are part of the same choice on the 85 mm or 115 mm mini circular saw page.

Then the blade, not the wattage

The HYCHIKA title says 750 W and the components line says 1,300 W. The Enventor 115 mm at £42.89 says 580 W and 4,000 rpm in the title, 3,700 rpm on the details line, and 1,300 W in the components line. Until one figure is settled, look at the disc. The 24-tooth TCT is the wood blade. A finer HSS or 60-tooth disc is for plastic and “soft metal”. A diamond disc is the tile blade. No listing states a steel or porcelain thickness. The Enventor 85 mm blades print a 10 mm bore, and these boxes do not list a reducer.

Cord, kit, or bare tool

Beside a socket, a corded 230 V saw is the match, from the HYCHIKA at £36.54 to the DOVAMAN at £69.32. A 2 m cable is stated on the HYCHIKA, the Enventor 85 mm and the Enventor 705 W, and missing on the GALAX PRO, the Enventor 580 W 115 mm and the DOVAMAN. Two metres is a short garage lead. Without a cable, the DCA at £89.99 and the WORKPRO at £129.99 each list a 4.0 Ah pack and a charger. The HuuppHip and the JOJOCY are £58.99 with no battery. A “DeWalt” or “Makita” line is a fit claim. The clashes are on the corded or cordless mini circular saw page.

Claims to ignore until you check them

On the Enventor 85 mm, UK reviews say the laser can sit about 3 mm off the kerf. GALAX PRO reviews split between a hindrance and a line that matched. The Enventor 580 W 115 mm bullets describe a scale ruler and do not claim a laser. Check any line on scrap. Plug type is not in these captures. Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016, regulation 35, requires a BS 1363 plug, or the stated conversion-plug route with a BS 1362 fuse. That is not a tick on these rows. We do not claim a brake time, a decibel figure, or BS EN 62841-2-5 compliance.

Common questions

What should I decide first, depth or brand?
Decide the depth first. Brand and star average come after the board fits the printed cut. An 18 mm sheet fits the stated depths in this set. A 47 mm stud does not fit an 85 mm saw stated at 27 mm. If you need a bevel, check that a 45° depth is actually printed, because the 85 mm listings here do not print one. The ten rows run from about £36.54 to £129.99.
Will an 85 mm saw cut 18 mm sheet, and will it cut a stud?
An 18 mm sheet sits inside the 0–27 mm claim on the Enventor 85 mm and inside the 27 mm and 28.5 mm figures on the GALAX PRO. A 47 mm stud is deeper than either claim. Leave a margin under a 27 mm maximum. For studs, move to a 115 mm listing that prints about 43–48 mm at 90°.
Do all mini circular saws bevel?
The 85 mm Enventor and the GALAX PRO do not print a 45° depth. The 115 mm corded saws do: 28 mm on the Enventor 705 W, 29 mm on the DOVAMAN, 32 mm on the HYCHIKA, and a title pair of 43 mm/29 mm on the Enventor 580 W 115 mm. A board that fits at 90° can fail at 45°. Read the 45° figure on the listing you buy.
What is the difference between the TCT, HSS, and diamond blades in the box?
The 24-tooth TCT disc is the wood blade. A finer HSS, 44-tooth or 60-tooth disc is what the listings offer for plastic and “soft metal”. The diamond disc is the tile blade. None states a steel, aluminium or porcelain thickness. “Tile” or “soft metal” names a blade, not a measured capacity. Change the disc when the material changes.
Why do two wattages appear on one listing?
On the HYCHIKA the title says 750 W and the components line says 1,300 W. On the Enventor 115 mm at £42.89 the title says 580 W and the components line says 1,300 W, with 4,000 rpm in the title and 3,700 rpm on the details line. The capture does not resolve either clash. Compare depth and the blade until the seller states one motor figure.
