Click vinyl bathroom

Updated: October 2026

You are flooring a bathroom with a shower tray and a door, or someone has told you the same click planks will do a wet room. The word waterproof is doing too much work. A click vinyl bathroom can be a sensible floor where you wipe spills and the planks are still free to move. A continually wet floor, with no tray and water on the boards every time you shower, is a different build. The four listings are on the [click vinyl comparison](/hub/flooring/click-vinyl). The clicking sequence, the gap and the underlay rule are on [how to lay click vinyl flooring](/hub/flooring/click-vinyl/sub/click-vinyl-how-to-lay). Prices and stars are the amazon.co.uk figures from 19 October 2026. There is no lab test.

Bathroom versus wet room

A family bathroom with a tray, a screen or a door, and a floor that gets splashed and then dried, is the room UK fitters still consider for click LVT. Arbour & Co put it plainly: click LVT can suit that traditional bathroom if you wipe spills and leave the floor free to move. Joints are tight. They are not a tank. A wet room, or any floor that stays wet because the shower drains across it, is where they point you at a safety sheet vinyl with a cove up the wall. The sheet is welded or sealed as a system. A click plank is not. BS EN 16511, the standard for this kind of loose-laid multilayer panel, allows frequent wetting, including bathrooms, only if the producer recommends it. The recommendation has to be on the product you are buying. It does not transfer from a forum, or from a different brand’s wet-room bullet. If your installer is selling click planks for a level-access shower, ask what is tanking the floor under them. If the answer is the click itself, you are being sold the wrong product. Neither Grandismo nor FLOORNATION becomes that sheet because the title says waterproof.

What these listings actually say

All four amazon.co.uk listings in this set name a bathroom. Grey Grandismo’s title includes bathroom, kitchen, lounge and dining, and it says water resistance. White Cliffs uses the same room list and adds a water-proof line with an asterisk. Reviewers of the grey pack have laid it in a bathroom and described it as waterproof in ordinary use. White Cliffs reviews include an en suite and other bathrooms. Those are owner accounts, not a soak test and not a wet-room certificate. FLOORNATION goes further on the page, and that is where people over-read it. The London Fog and Fog Gray bullets name kitchens, bathrooms, wet rooms and utility rooms, and they say 100 percent waterproof. They also state underfloor heating up to 27°C and tell you to avoid prolonged direct sun. Naming a wet room in a bullet does not turn a floating click-lock into a tanked floor. We do not treat that word as approval for a level-access shower. There is no use class on any of the four pages, and there is no slip rating you can borrow from somewhere else. London Fog has three short reviews. Fog Gray has no star line. A bathroom claim with almost no UK reviews is a thinner bet than Grandismo’s bathroom reviews, and it is still not a wet-room system. If you are choosing inside this set for a tray bathroom, the review volume and the underlay difference are on best click vinyl flooring. Grey Grandismo is the larger review file. It still needs separate underlay, and it still does not state a heating limit. FLOORNATION includes 1.5 mm IXPE and states 27°C, on a handful of ratings or none. Pick the listing that names a bathroom, then keep the room on the tray side of the line.

Edges and spills

The click is a mechanical joint. Water that sits on it can track along the seam even when the core itself does not swell the way a fibreboard board does. Wipe spills. Do not leave a wet bath mat in the same place for a week and call the floor waterproof because the title said so. A shower tray with a proper upstand keeps the flood on the tray side. A tray that leaks at the silicone joint between tray and wall is a plumbing fault, and a new plank will not fix it. What you do at the edges is where DIY bathrooms fail. The planks need a movement gap, and these listings do not print the millimetres. Pinning the perimeter, or running a fat silicone bead along every skirting so nothing can move, fights the float. Brand sheets disagree with each other, and neither is printed on these Amazon pages. Wickes’ click-tile sheet allows silicone only at a WC or a pedestal. Luvanto’s SPC guide says not to silicone the expansion gap at all. Around a toilet, a neat seal at the pan is a local job. It is not permission to glue the whole floor down with a sealant gun. Skirtings fix to the wall. A doorway into a carpeted landing needs a profile, not a plank jammed under the door. Laminate’s wood-fibre core is a poorer default in the same wet room, which is the short version of click vinyl vs laminate. Sheet vinyl remains the floor when the wetting does not stop.

Heat in a small room

Bathrooms are often the room with a small electric mat and a door you keep shut. Heat and moisture arrive together. FLOORNATION states underfloor heating up to 27°C. That number is the cap on those two listings, not a setting to exceed because the room feels cold. The same listings tell you to avoid prolonged direct sun. A south-facing bathroom window is a milder version of the conservatory warning, not a reason to ignore it. Grandismo does not state a maximum. One grey review says the floor bowed and softened when the heating came on, even with a 10 mm gap at the skirting. That is one review, and it is enough to stop you assuming the FLOORNATION 27°C line also covers the £29.99 Grandismo pack. If the mat is already down and you do not have a written limit from the flooring brand, do not commission the heat on the morning you finish clicking. A fitter who does both the mat and the floor can take the interface temperature. You should not guess it from a different ASIN. A qualifying purchase can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you.

Common questions

Can you use click vinyl in a bathroom?
You can consider it for a bathroom with a shower tray, where spills are wiped and the floor can still move. All four listings in this set name a bathroom. That is not approval for every click vinyl on the market, and it is not approval for a floor that stays wet.
Is it the right floor for a wet room?
No. A continually wet room wants a safety sheet vinyl with a cove, fitted as a system. FLOORNATION’s bullet uses the words wet rooms. That sentence is not a tanking specification, and it is not a reason to click planks across a level-access shower.
Are the joints watertight?
They are a click, not a welded seam. They can be tight enough for splashes you wipe up. They are not a tank. Water left on a joint can track along it. The core in this set is vinyl or SPC, which is a different problem from a fibreboard board swelling, and it is still not a sealed wet-room floor.
What do you do around the toilet?
Keep the expansion gap. A local seal at the pan is as far as some brand sheets go. Wickes’ click-tile sheet allows silicone only at a WC or a pedestal. Luvanto says not to silicone the gap. These Amazon listings print neither rule, so you follow the sheet in your box and you do not seal the whole perimeter.
Does a shower tray change the answer?
Yes. A tray and a door keep the flood off the floor, which is the bathroom these listings are closer to. A walk-in shower with no tray, draining across the planks, is the wet-room case. The tray has to be sealed to the wall. A click floor does not repair a leaking tray.
