Thermia wood stove 2026: eight UK listings compared

The best Thermia wood stoves, compared.

Top pick: NRG 8 kW multifuel stove Best value: Kuvik titanium wood stove – £36.99 buys 4.7 from 456 ratings, the deepest record here, for an outdoor twig stove. Updated October 2026.

Peter F.
Peter F.Editor

If you searched for a Thermia wood stove, the maker's papers describe a domestic solid-fuel roomheater from Thermia kamini d.o.o. in Viljevo, Croatia. That is not a Swedish heat pump, and it is not a backpacking stove. It does contain eight other wood-burning stoves: three titanium twig stoves, three tent stoves with chimneys, and two multifuel room stoves. In a UK smoke control area, wood may be burned only in an exempt appliance used as the exemption states. Ecodesign is a separate rule and has applied to new solid-fuel roomheaters since 1 January 2022. Output, fuel, and the class split are in the [Thermia wood stove buying guide](/hub/fireplaces-and-stoves/thermia-wood-stove/sub/thermia-wood-stove-buying-guide). The fiche names roomheaters such as Olympus and Minerva at 7.0 kW, energy class A, and 80.03 percent efficiency, and it cites EN 13240. Other names on that sheet run from about 6 kW to 12.5 kW.

The best Thermia wood stoves in detail

NRG 8 kW multifuel stove

Rank 1

NRG 8 kW multifuel stove

∼£515

Our view

The larger NRG is listed at 8.1 kW in the technical line and 8 kW in the title, weighs 80 kg, and costs £514.99. The glass is given as 306 x 369 mm, the body is steel with a cast-iron door, and the listing states carbon monoxide at 0.07% on wood and 0.04% on smokeless fuel. It claims DEFRA approval, it does not state an Ecodesign line on the listing, and it says the flue pipe is not included. The amazon.co.uk rating is 5.0 from one rating, and there is no written review, so there is no written account of how it burns. HETAS treats about 8 kW and above as a general guide for a large or poorly insulated space, and an oversized stove is the one people tend to run too cool. The coverage line of 123 to 185 square metres is the listing's own claim. Side and rear clearances are not stated, and Thermia's clearances must not be borrowed for this box.

Pros

  • Listed output 8.1 kW, in HETAS's large-room band as a general guide
  • Glass size stated at 306 x 369 mm
  • Seller states carbon monoxide at 0.07% on wood and 0.04% on smokeless fuel
  • DEFRA approval is claimed on the listing

Cons

  • 5.0 from one rating and no written review
  • Flue pipe is stated as not included
  • £514.99 before hearth, liner, and labour
  • No Ecodesign line on the listing, and no side or rear clearances

Best for: A large or poorly insulated room, only if you accept a listing with no written reviews and you will buy the flue separately.

Less suitable: A small room, a buyer who wants written reviews, or anyone treating 123 to 185 square metres as a measured result.

unho tent stove with oven

Rank 2

unho tent stove with oven

∼£170

Our view

The unho with a removable oven weighs 13.8 kg, costs £169.99, and includes six chimney pipes plus windows in the firebox and the oven. The listing says you can bake with the oven fitted or take it off and use the firebox alone. It mentions a temperature gauge and does not state an oven temperature, so that figure is not available. The amazon.co.uk line is 5.0 from one review, dated 7 October 2026: the reviewer likes the oven and still says the chimney and the tent ventilation have to be right. One rating is not a track record. A carry bag is not confirmed. Fire-service guidance still rules out an ordinary tent.

Pros

  • Removable oven, so the firebox can be used on its own
  • Six chimney sections included
  • Windows in the firebox and the oven
  • The single UK review likes the oven when ventilation is right

Cons

  • 5.0 from one review, dated 7 October 2026, with no broader sample
  • Oven temperature is not stated
  • 13.8 kg, the heaviest tent stove here
  • Carry bag not confirmed, and an ordinary tent is still ruled out

Best for: Someone already set on a stove-jack tent who wants an oven module and will not treat one review as a test.

Less suitable: Anyone who needs a proven burner, a stated oven temperature, or a living-room install.

The listing mentions a gauge, but it does not state a temperature. That figure is not available.

Kuvik titanium wood stove

Rank 3

Kuvik titanium wood stove

∼£37

Our view

The larger Kuvik packs to about 17.1 x 15.9 x 0.5 cm, weighs about 195 g, and is listed at a camping output of 2,600 W, which is not a room-heating figure. It costs £36.99 and includes a carry case, with an assembled size on the listing of about 6.25 x 5 x 5 inches. Across 456 amazon.co.uk ratings at 4.7 it has the deepest review record here, though many written reviews are from the United States and Canada. Reviewers like the flat pack and dislike the constant twig feed, the soot, and, on some units, a slight warp. One US review describes a fat fire on a picnic table that nearly caught, because the tray sits close to the ground, so it needs a non-combustible surface. The listing does not name a maximum pot diameter. It has no flue and it is not a Thermia roomheater.

Pros

  • 4.7 from 456 amazon.co.uk ratings, the deepest record in this set
  • About 195 g, with a carry case, packing almost flat
  • £36.99, a small step up from the compact Kuvik for far more reviews
  • Listing output of 2,600 W for the camping stove, not a room rating

Cons

  • Many written reviews are from the United States and Canada
  • Soot, constant feeding, and a slight warp on some units
  • One US review nearly scorched a picnic table; it needs a non-combustible surface
  • No flue, and no stated maximum pot diameter

Best for: An outdoor boil on a walk, when you want the best-reviewed twig stove in this set and can keep it off wood.

Less suitable: A lounge, a smoke-control install, or anyone who needs a stove that holds a fire without constant feeding.

Common questions

The listing says the rack can take various pot and pan sizes. It does not name a maximum diameter.

Is the 2,600 W figure a room-heating rating?

No. 2,600 W is the listing's maximum energy output for this camping stove. It is not a DEFRA roomheater output.

NRG 4.5 kW multifuel stove

Rank 4

NRG 4.5 kW multifuel stove

∼£239

Our view

The NRG at £238.99 is listed at 4.5 kW and 48 kg, which puts it in HETAS's general 3 to 5 kW band for a small room or backup heat, if an installer agrees. It is 4.6 from 30 amazon.co.uk ratings, mostly short UK praise, and one UK reviewer bought it for a motorhome, which is one household rather than a test. The page says DEFRA approved and 2022 Eco Design Ready. That is the seller's claim, and the exact model still has to be on the live exempt list before you rely on it. The body is cast iron, about 525 x 380 x 325 mm, and the included parts list a flue collar rather than a flue pipe. The listing notes short logs as a limit of the firebox, and the reviews are too short to show a repeated fault. It is not a Thermia stove, and the price does not include the hearth, the liner, the labour, or the alarm.

Pros

  • Listed at 4.5 kW, inside HETAS's small-room band as a general guide
  • 4.6 from 30 ratings, mostly short UK praise, the only domestic sample here
  • Seller claims DEFRA approval and 2022 Eco Design Ready
  • Cast iron, 48 kg, with a flue collar listed in the box

Cons

  • DEFRA and Ecodesign lines are listing claims, not a register check
  • Flue pipe is not stated as included
  • Reviews are short, and the listing notes short logs
  • Not a Thermia, and install, hearth, and alarm are extra

Best for: Backup heat in a small room, or a considered motorhome install, once the exact model is on the live exempt list and a proper flue is planned.

Less suitable: A named Thermia, a large room, a rucksack, or a buyer who will not pay for installation.

OneTigris Tiger Roar tent stove

Rank 5

OneTigris Tiger Roar tent stove

∼£220

Our view

The OneTigris Tiger Roar weighs about 10 kg, costs £219.98, and ships with seven pipe sections, elbows, a Schott ROBAX window, and a spare glass. Across 232 amazon.co.uk ratings at 4.4, reviews praise the heat in a tent and criticise pipes that are thin or hard to join, smoke when the door is opened, a hinge pin missing on one unit, and side panels that bent after a hard burn. The listing's short-term glass rating of 760°C is the seller's material claim, not a room test. A carry bag is not confirmed in the listing. At this price it is the dearest tent stove in this set, and the pipe complaints are why the extra money does not buy a quiet setup. The same fire-service warning applies: it is not a stove for an ordinary nylon tent, and it is not a Thermia roomheater.

Pros

  • 4.4 from 232 ratings, the most-reviewed tent stove here
  • Seven pipes, two 45 degree elbows, and two 90 degree elbows
  • Schott ROBAX glass plus a spare pane and a scraper
  • Reviews that do praise the heat in a tent

Cons

  • Thin or ill-fitting pipes, and smoke when the door opens
  • One report of a missing hinge pin, and side panels bent after a hard burn
  • £219.98, the dearest tent stove in this set
  • Carry bag not confirmed, and not a stove for an ordinary tent

Best for: A stove-tent comparison where you want the longest review record and a spare glass, and you accept fiddly pipes.

Less suitable: A living room, a tight budget, or a standard nylon tent.

The listing asks the question but does not confirm a bag in the bullet points. Treat the bag as not stated.

OneTigris ROCUBOID titanium stove

Rank 6

OneTigris ROCUBOID titanium stove

∼£33

Our view

The OneTigris ROCUBOID sets up to about 12.7 x 12.7 x 18 cm, weighs about 404 g, and burns twigs or a spirit burner on an inner shelf. It is £32.98, packs to about 15.5 x 16.5 x 1 cm, and includes a nylon case. Across 160 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.4, UK reviewers use it both ways. It still has no chimney and no DEFRA claim. The same class of sheet-stove reviews complains about soot and about feeding small sticks for the whole boil. At 404 g it is a poor swap if you bought titanium only to match the 115 g Kuvik. It is not a Thermia stove.

Pros

  • Twigs or a Trangia-type spirit burner on the inner shelf
  • Nylon carry case, packing to about 15.5 x 16.5 x 1 cm
  • 4.4 from 160 amazon.co.uk reviews, with UK notes on both fuels
  • Sets up to about 12.7 x 12.7 x 18 cm

Cons

  • About 404 g, the heaviest twig stove in this set
  • No flue and no DEFRA claim
  • Soot and constant stick-feeding in this class of reviews

Best for: A camp cook who wants twigs and a spirit burner in one titanium body, and can carry 404 g.

Less suitable: An ultralight walk, a living room, or a stove you expect to leave unattended.

The listing says it can be set up for wood, alcohol, or fuel tablets. UK reviews also describe a Trangia-type spirit burner on the inner shelf.

Does it come with a case?

Yes. The listing includes a coyote brown nylon case, and the stove packs to about 15.5 x 16.5 x 1 cm.

Kuvik compact titanium stove

Rank 7

Kuvik compact titanium stove

∼£24

Our view

The Kuvik compact is a titanium twig stove that packs to about 5 mm and, once open, stands about 115 mm high and 80 mm square for a small outdoor pot. It is £23.99, and one reviewer weighed it at 116 g with the case against a listing figure of about 115 g. Across 40 amazon.co.uk reviews at 4.2, the packed size is the reason to buy it, and some reviewers still found it too small for the pot they carried. It has no flue, no window, and no DEFRA line. Reviews of this titanium sheet-stove class also mention soot, constant twig feeding, and the odd warped or misaligned panel, and several say the box has no printed instructions. It is not a Thermia roomheater, and it does not belong in a fireplace.

Pros

  • About 115 g with a carry case, packing to about 5 mm
  • Lowest price in this set, at £23.99
  • Assembled size about 115 mm high and 80 mm square
  • 4.2 from 40 amazon.co.uk reviews

Cons

  • Some reviewers found it too small for their pot
  • No flue, so it is not a room stove
  • Soot, constant feeding, and occasional warped panels in this class of reviews
  • Printed instructions are missing in several reviews of these sheet stoves

Best for: A short walk where the grams matter and you will boil a small pot on twigs outdoors.

Less suitable: A living room, a large pot, or anyone who searched for a Thermia log burner.

Common questions

Does this Kuvik stove include a carry case?

Yes. The listing includes a lightweight carrying case and says the stove packs down to about 5 mm thick.

No. The brand on the amazon.co.uk listing is Kuvik. It is a titanium camping stove, not a Thermia roomheater.

unho hot tent stove

Rank 8

unho hot tent stove

∼£117

Our view

The unho tent stove weighs 9.1 kg, costs £116.99, and comes with a seven-piece chimney, a spark-arrestor cap, and glass in the front and the side. The listing says to use it only in a compatible stove-jack tent, with ventilation, and to keep the chimney clear of fabric. Across 96 amazon.co.uk ratings at 4.1, the weakest average among the stoves here with a real sample, reviews describe a damper pin that came loose, a side window that cracked on a second burn, a missing damper plate, sharp edges, and creosote at a cold spark cap. Those are individual reports, not a failure rate. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service still says not to burn a stove inside a tent, awning, or caravan entrance. There is no kilowatt output and no DEFRA claim. It is not a living-room log burner and it is not a Thermia.

Pros

  • Seven-piece chimney, spark-arrestor cap, and guy lines in the box
  • Glass in the front and the side, plus a carry bag
  • 9.1 kg, the lightest tent stove in this set, at £116.99
  • 96 amazon.co.uk ratings, enough to show repeating complaints

Cons

  • 4.1 from 96, the lowest average among stoves with a real sample
  • Reviews cite a loose damper, a cracked side window, sharp edges, and creosote
  • Listing limits it to a stove-jack tent; fire-service guidance is stricter
  • No stated kilowatt output and no DEFRA claim

Best for: A buyer comparing tent stoves who wants the chimney in the box and will read the damper and glass complaints first.

Less suitable: An ordinary nylon tent, a bedroom, or a fixed room stove.

How we compared

We compared eight amazon.co.uk listings that appear for a Thermia wood stove search: three twig stoves, three tent stoves, and two NRG multifuel stoves. Scores use the listing price in pounds, the stated class and output, and the review count. There was no laboratory burn, and no Thermia model was in the set.

1

Stove class

30%

A twig stove, a tent stove, and a fixed roomheater do different jobs. Thermia's papers describe roomheaters, and none of these ASINs is a Thermia.

2

Smoke control

25%

Wood in a smoke control area needs an exempt appliance used as the exemption states. A DEFRA line on a listing is a claim until the model is on the live list.

3

Output and fuel

20%

HETAS bands are a general guide. A multifuel grate and a flat wood bed are not the same fire, and a camping watt figure is not a room rating.

4

What the box includes

15%

Flue pipe, chimney sections, and a carry case change the real cost. Hearth, liner, labour, and the alarm are extra on a fixed stove.

5

Review depth

10%

A single five-star rating is a weak sample. The 8 kW NRG and the unho oven each have one rating, and the 8 kW listing has no written review.

Thermia wood stove buying guide

You will not find a Thermia ASIN in this set, so the useful first step is to name the job. A roomheater, a hot-tent stove, and a titanium twig stove are not substitutes. The prices below are amazon.co.uk shelf prices in pounds. Review counts are the counts on those listings. We did not run a lab fire, and a five-star line from one rating is not treated as a test. Use the class, the listed output, and the exempt-list check before the badge.

What is a Thermia wood stove?

A Thermia wood stove, in the maker's papers, is a domestic solid-fuel roomheater from Thermia kamini d.o.o. in Viljevo, Croatia. The fiche names roomheaters such as Olympus and Minerva at 7.0 kW, energy class A, and 80.03 percent efficiency, and it cites EN 13240. Other names on that sheet run from about 6 kW to 12.5 kW. Those models are not ASINs in this set, and a German BImSchV stage 2 mark is not a UK smoke-control exemption.

Best for

  • Walkers who will boil a small pot outdoors on twigs
  • A small-room backup once the exact model is on the exempt list

Not ideal for

  • Anyone who needs a named Thermia roomheater from these listings
  • Sleeping in an ordinary tent with a stove inside

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Treating Ecodesign as an exemption

Ecodesign is an efficiency rule for new solid-fuel roomheaters from 1 January 2022. It does not by itself let you burn wood in a smoke control area. A German BImSchV mark is not a UK exemption either. Search the exact model on the live exempt list.

  2. 2

    Lighting a twig stove indoors

The Kuvik and ROCUBOID stoves have no flue and no DEFRA line. They are for an outdoor pot. Soot, constant feeding, and a tray close to the ground are why they do not belong in a fireplace.

  3. 3

Assuming the flue is in the box

The 8 kW NRG listing says the flue pipe is not included. The 4.5 kW listing includes a flue collar, not a stated pipe. Hearth, liner, labour, and the carbon monoxide alarm sit outside the stove price.

  4. 4

    Trusting one five-star rating

The 8 kW NRG and the unho oven each show one rating. The 8 kW listing has no written review. That is not a track record, and it is not a lab test.

What to weigh up

Class of stove

High

The first split is the job, not the star rating. Thermia's papers describe domestic roomheaters. Kuvik and the OneTigris ROCUBOID are outdoor twig stoves with no flue. unho and the Tiger Roar are portable stoves that ship with chimney sections. The two NRG models are multifuel room stoves. A 115 g titanium sheet will boil a small pot on a walk. It will not heat a lounge, and it has no DEFRA line.

Smoke control and output

High

For a room stove, HETAS's general guide is about 3 to 5 kW for a small room or backup heat, about 5 to 8 kW for many living rooms, and about 8 kW and above for a large or poorly insulated space. The NRG at £238.99 is listed at 4.5 kW. The NRG at £514.99 is listed at 8.1 kW in the technical line and 8 kW in the title. Those figures are the seller's, not a measurement we made. An oversized stove is the one people tend to run too cool, which makes more smoke and soot.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Small-room backup

You want a fixed stove for a small room, not a stove that packs into a rucksack. The NRG listed at 4.5 kW is the only domestic stove here with a real sample, 4.6 from 30 ratings, at £238.99. The DEFRA line is the seller's claim, so check the live list and budget for a flue, a hearth, and an alarm.

Walker with a pot

You want an outdoor boil, and the grams matter less than a deep review file. The larger Kuvik is £36.99, about 195 g, and 4.7 from 456 ratings. It is a titanium twig stove with no flue, so it is the best value for a walk, not for a lounge.

Stove-tent comparison

You are comparing tent stoves that ship with pipes, and you will not treat one rating as a test. The Tiger Roar has 4.4 from 232 ratings, pipes in the box, and a spare glass, at £219.98. Fire-service guidance still says not to burn a stove inside a tent, awning, or caravan entrance.

Common questions about Thermia wood stoves

Is a Thermia wood stove in this amazon.co.uk set?
No. Thermia kamini's papers describe domestic roomheaters, including Olympus and Minerva declared at 7.0 kW, and this set has no Thermia ASIN, no Thermia price in pounds, and no Thermia review count. The eight listings are Kuvik and OneTigris twig stoves, unho and OneTigris tent stoves, and two NRG multifuel stoves. Do not treat any of them as a Thermia.
How much does a stove in this comparison cost?
The titanium twig stoves are £23.99, £32.98, and £36.99. The tent stoves are £116.99, £169.99, and £219.98. The domestic NRG models are £238.99 at a listed 4.5 kW and £514.99 at a listed 8.1 kW. Those are amazon.co.uk shelf prices. The hearth, the flue liner, the labour, and a carbon monoxide alarm are not included. No Thermia pound price is in this set.
What should you check before you buy?
Start with the class: a roomheater, a tent stove, and a twig stove do different jobs. For a room, compare the listed output with HETAS's general bands, about 3 to 5 kW for a small room and about 8 kW and above for a large or poorly insulated space. Then check whether the exact model is on the live exempt list if you are in a smoke control area, and whether the flue pipe is in the box.
Can you burn wood in a smoke control area?
Only in a DEFRA-exempt appliance, used as that exemption states. GOV.UK says a chimney in a smoke control area must not smoke. In England the stated penalty is up to £300 for chimney smoke, and up to £1,000 for buying unauthorised fuel for a non-exempt appliance. Ask the council, then search the model. An England list pulled on 15 October 2026 did not contain Thermia. A seller's DEFRA line is a claim until you see the row.
Is Ecodesign the same as a DEFRA exemption?
No. Ecodesign has applied to new solid-fuel roomheaters since 1 January 2022, and the retained regulation sets a floor of at least 65 percent seasonal efficiency for closed non-pellet stoves. That is an efficiency and emissions rule. It does not by itself let you burn wood in a smoke control area. German BImSchV stage 2 is not a UK exemption either. Which listing is the top pick here?
The top pick is the NRG multifuel stove listed at 4.5 kW and £238.99, with 4.6 from 30 amazon.co.uk ratings. It is the only domestic stove in the set with a real review sample. Skip it if you need a named Thermia or a stove for a rucksack. The best value is the larger Kuvik at £36.99, and that one is an outdoor twig stove. A wider set of indoor burners is on the wood burning stove comparison.
Are the tent stoves safe to sleep next to?
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service says not to burn a stove inside a tent, awning, or caravan entrance. The unho listing also limits use to a compatible stove-jack tent with ventilation. Reviews on the cheaper unho mention a loose damper, a cracked side window, and creosote. The Tiger Roar has the longer tent-stove record, at 4.4 from 232, and reviews still mention thin pipes and smoke when the door opens.
Does the stove price include the flue?
Not as a rule. The 8 kW NRG listing says the flue pipe is not included. The 4.5 kW NRG listing includes a flue collar, not a stated flue pipe. The tent stoves do include chimney sections. The hearth, the liner, the labour, and the carbon monoxide alarm sit outside the stove price. Use a HETAS Registered Installer for a fixed stove. If someone is dizzy, sick, or confused around a lit stove, get to fresh air and call 999.

Our verdict

None of these eight listings is a Thermia wood stove. The top pick is Kuvik titanium wood stove, with the highest score in this comparison (8.5 out of 10, from 456 amazon.co.uk reviews). For an outdoor pot, the larger Kuvik at £36.99 is the best value, with 4.7 from 456 ratings, and it is not a roomheater. Tent stoves in this set come with pipes, and fire-service guidance still rules out an ordinary tent.
