Best fingerprint padlock

Updated: 20.10.2026

You want one fingerprint padlock for a named job, and the star line on amazon.co.uk will not name that job. Best fingerprint padlock, on this page, means which of these nine listings fits a shed, a shared gate, a gym locker or a suitcase, and which to skip. The full table is the [fingerprint padlock comparison](/hub/burglar-protection/padlock-fingerprint), priced on 19 October 2026. We read those listings and the UK review notes on file. We did not run an attack test, and none of these rows carries a Sold Secure mark. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Read the number of reviews before the stars

The Prezlock Pebble is £59.95 with 4.2 from 765 reviews, the only file here large enough to treat the average as a pattern. Reviewers who follow the sheet describe reliable opening. The same file includes a unit that stopped holding a charge after about three weeks, and a buyer who after six months had only the key. The bullets and the included list disagree about a charging cable, and the specification table lists about six months against a bullet that says up to a year. The P15 is 4.7 from five reviews, and the blue Anweller is 5.0 from four. Those averages are not a top pick. The checks before a model name are on the fingerprint padlock buying guide.

Heavier locks for a gate or shed

If a fingerprint lock is acceptable on a shed or a shared gate, start with the Pebble: two backup keys, up to 100 fingerprints, an IP65 claim, 349 g. IP65 is low-pressure jets, not a wet finger. ASTM Grade 3 is a US claim, not BS EN 12320 or Sold Secure. The top pick is the review volume, not a lab ranking of the shackle. The Pebble Plus at £69 adds the app, at 295 g and 4.1 from 136 reviews, and does not state a fingerprint count. Skip the TenixLox: an IP66 claim and 2.9 from eight reviews, including a report that any finger opened it. ABUS and Master Lock biometric models are not rows in this table.

Small locks for a locker, and a cable for a bag

If the hasp is a locker hole, the 349 g Pebble is the wrong object unless that hole is unusually large. The best value for a small lock with a readable file is the Anweller P6BF at £29.99 with 4.4 from 45 reviews. It weighs 170 g, has no mechanical key and no IP code, and heavy rain forces the app. One USB-C port would not take a cable while kit was still inside. The Eseesmart P8BF at £21.59 states a 0.4 cm shackle and shows 3.6 from 11 reviews. The MYPIN HS0458 at £7.99 is a 40 g cable for a suitcase, and one UK review says it pulled open. Do not hang it on a gate because it is the cheapest row.

Match the lock to the job

Someone who needs a published CEN grade, a lock that must open with soaking wet fingers, or a code they can send by text, should not buy a fingerprint padlock from this set at all. A graded mechanical padlock, checked against the policy, is the honest alternative when the schedule names Bronze or above. For everyone else, match the job: the Pebble for a shed if you accept the limits, the Pebble Plus if the app matters, the P6BF for a locker if you can live without a key, and the HS0458 only for a bag.

Common questions

Which one is best for a shed?
Inside this set, the Prezlock Pebble, if a fingerprint lock is acceptable at all. It has the large review file, two keys and an IP65 claim. The Pebble Plus is the alternative when several people share access in the app. Neither shows Sold Secure or BS EN 12320.
Which one is best for a gym locker?
The Anweller P6BF has the most reviews among the small app locks, at 4.4 from 45, and it has no key. The P8BF is the one that states a 0.4 cm shackle. The blue Anweller states 20 prints and has four reviews. Dry the finger. A 349 g shed lock is the wrong size unless the locker hole is large.
Is the highest star rating the best lock?
No. The P15’s 4.7 comes from five reviews, and the blue Anweller’s 5.0 comes from four. The Pebble’s 4.2 comes from 765. Read the count before you treat the average as a result. This page did not award a lab winner.
Is the heaviest lock the strongest?
The P15 is the heaviest at 658 g, and it has five reviews and no stated shackle diameter. Weight is a clue that you are not holding the 40 g ABS lock. It is not a CEN grade. The Pebble’s ASTM Grade 3 claim does not convert into a UK insurance grade either.
Should I skip anything because of reviews?
Skip the TenixLox as a default: failed fingerprints, a failed setup, and a report that any finger opened it. Treat the HS0458 as luggage only, because a review says it pulled open. Do not skip the Pebble for a three-week charge failure in one review, and do not ignore that failure either. Keep a key off the shed.
Are ABUS or Master Lock in this comparison?
No. They appear in other UK round-ups, and ABUS publishes IP66 and IP68 figures for its Touch series. Those models are context, not ASINs in this nine-row table.
What if I only want a suitcase?
Buy the HS0458 only if a 3 mm cable fits the zipper and you have read the pull-open review. The emergency code 33 is printed in the bullets, so it is not a secret. For a rigid shackle on a bag, use a small locker lock and check the hole, not the shed-sized Prezlock.
