Peter F.Editor

A radiator thermostat on a UK wet system is a thermostatic radiator valve. The head senses the air beside one radiator and varies the hot-water flow, so that room can run cooler than the rest of the house. On amazon.co.uk this set mixes three jobs: a screw-on x 1.5 head, a 15 mm valve set with a lockshield, and a smart head that needs its own hub. Mixing those up is the usual wrong basket. Type, thread and pipe pattern are set out in the [radiator thermostat buying guide](/hub/thermostats/radiator-thermostat/sub/radiator-thermostat-buying-guide). It is not the wall thermostat, and it is not boiler interlock. You choose it when you already know the job: a new head on a sound body, a full 15 mm set with a lockshield, or a smart head plus that brand’s gateway.

The best radiator thermostats in detail

SVNR angled anthracite TRV

Rank 1

SVNR angled anthracite TRV

∼£25

Our view

The SVNR Radiators-Grey listing is one textured anthracite angled set at about £24.99, claimed as H62 brass, 15 mm and 1/2 inch BSP, with frost protection in the item highlight. It has the highest star line here, 4.7 from 60 ratings, and reviews cite a match to anthracite towel radiators and leak-free joints. Maximum pressure is listed as 10 bar. The set-name field says Set of 20, while the title, unit count and number of items describe one angled set, so this is not a trade pack. Two dimension lines disagree, 12.3 x 6 x 3.9 cm against 15.24 x 18.73 x 6.86 cm. One buyer returned it because the grey did not match the radiator. EN 215 is not named on the listing.

Pros

  • Highest star line in the set: 4.7 from 60 ratings
  • Angled anthracite set at about £24.99
  • Reviews cite a match to anthracite towel radiators and leak-free joints

Cons

  • Set-of-20 field conflicts with the title
  • Two different dimension lines
  • One return because the grey did not match the radiator

Best for: One anthracite angled 15 mm set where you have checked the colour against the rail.

Less suitable: A buyer who needs a certified EN 215 mark on the listing, or a multi-radiator bulk pack.

Common questions

Is the set of 20 real?

The set-name field says Set of 20. The title, unit count and number of items describe one angled set. Treat the 20 as a conflicting field.

What pattern is it?

Angled, 15 mm, with a lockshield named in the title and highlight.

Does it name EN 215?

No. Frost protection is in the item highlight. Maximum pressure is listed as 10 bar.

Honeywell Home Thera-5

Rank 2

Honeywell Home Thera-5

∼£22

Our view

The Honeywell Home Thera-5 (T5019W0) is one glossy white mechanical head at about £22.45, M30 x 1.5, with a liquid sensor claimed in the bullet and no valve body in the box. It carries the deepest review line in this set: 4.5 from 1,176 amazon.co.uk ratings. UK reviews describe a straight swap onto Drayton and older Honeywell bodies, which is the job this head is for. The bullet gives a zero position and a setpoint of 1 to 28 °C, with horizontal mounting recommended and a maximum operating ambient of 40 °C. The attribute block also says Wi-Fi, battery power, touch and portable, and those lines conflict with the mechanical bullet. Some buyers report heads that do nothing or feel stiff. EN 215 is claimed in the bullet, while the specification field only says en. The score is the stored star line, not a laboratory test.

Pros

  • Largest rating count in the set: 1,176 at 4.5
  • Named model T5019W0 and an EN 215 line in the bullet
  • UK reviews describe a straight swap onto Drayton and older Honeywell bodies

Cons

  • No valve body in the box
  • Attribute block claims Wi-Fi, which the bullet does not support
  • Some buyers report heads that do nothing or feel stiff

Best for: Replacing one M30 x 1.5 mechanical head, mounted horizontally, where the body is already sound.

Less suitable: A new radiator that needs a body and lockshield, or anyone who read the Wi-Fi attribute as the product.

Common questions

Does the Thera-5 include a valve body?

No. Included components are one thermostatic radiator head.

Is it a Wi-Fi head?

The bullet describes a mechanical head with a liquid sensor. The attribute block also says Wi-Fi and battery power. Those lines conflict.

What setpoint does the bullet give?

With the zero position, 1 to 28 °C, and a maximum operating ambient temperature of 40 °C. Horizontal mounting is recommended.

Marella chrome straight TRV

Rank 3

Marella chrome straight TRV

∼£22

Our view

The Marella listing, under West Radiators model 782003002907, is a chrome straight set at about £21.99: lockshield, straight 15 mm brass body and head, at 4.5 from 42 ratings. The bullet says the valve still operates if the room falls below 7 °C, claims six settings, and states the pattern for pipes that come out of the wall into side entries. Maximum pressure is 10 bar, and the standard field is CE, not EN 215. One review had to reorder because the return was not straight. A lockshield arrived in the locked position and needed an 8 mm hex. Decorator caps are claimed in the bullet. Bottom entries should be checked before you rely on the straight body.

Pros

  • Complete straight chrome set at about £21.99
  • 4.5 from 42 ratings
  • Bullet states pattern, decorator caps and a frost point

Cons

  • Wrong pattern means a second purchase
  • Lockshield may arrive locked
  • CE only, not EN 215

Best for: A chrome towel rail or radiator with pipes that already call for a straight 15 mm body.

Less suitable: Floor pipes that need an angled or corner body.

Common questions

When does the listing say straight is right?

Pipes that come out of the wall into side entries. Bottom entries should be checked with the installer. One review had to reorder because the return was not straight.

What is the frost line?

The bullet says the valve still operates if the room falls below 7 °C.

What tool did a reviewer need?

An 8 mm hex for a lockshield that arrived in the locked position.

VANCOCO 2-pack corner TRV

Rank 4

VANCOCO 2-pack corner TRV

∼£50

Our view

The VANCOCO listing is two complete corner sets at about £49.99: two lockshields, two corner bodies and two heads, stated as 1/2 inch by 15 mm compression. Across 99 amazon.co.uk ratings it sits at 4.4. The specification field names EN 215 and TELL, and the bullet claims freeze protection with six settings, so this is a pair of matte black wet fittings rather than a spare dial. Reviews still describe adjusters coming out and sets failing within days or months, and the finish is reported to scratch. One buyer could not fit the set to a new radiator, so the 15 mm line still needs a check against the pipe you have. H62 brass and a 10 bar maximum are on the listing. The model number is not.

Pros

  • Pair of complete corner sets at about £49.99
  • EN 215 named in the specification field
  • 4.4 from 99 ratings

Cons

  • Reviews describe adjusters coming out and sets failing within days or months
  • Finish reported to scratch
  • One buyer could not fit them to a new radiator

Best for: Two matching matte black corner valves where the old pattern is already corner and the thread is 15 mm.

Less suitable: A single white head swap, or a buyer who has already had this adjuster come apart.

Common questions

Is this a head only?

No. The included-components line lists two corner lockshields, two corner valve bodies and two TRV heads.

What pipes does it say it fits?

The listing says a 1/2 inch thread and a 15 mm inlet. One review says the set did not fit a new radiator.

Does the listing claim a frost setting?

Yes. The bullet says freeze protection is available, with six settings.

UK Radiators corner TRV

Rank 5

UK Radiators corner TRV

∼£25

Our view

UK Radiators STI-TRV-FBC is one matt black corner set at about £24.80, listed as brass, 1/2 inch by 15 mm BSP, with a head, a lockshield and instructions. The star line is 4.4 from 23 ratings, a thin sample beside the heads that have hundreds of reviews. The specification field says CE, not EN 215, and no frost setting is stated. Number of pieces is 1 while the highlight says a lockshield is included, and one buyer received an incomplete box when they expected two. Treat the carton as one valve plus lockshield for a single radiator. A review limits the fitting to copper rather than multilayer pipe. At 620 g it is a compact single set, not a two-radiator order.

Pros

  • Complete corner set at about £24.80
  • Brass and a named model, STI-TRV-FBC
  • 4.4 from 23 ratings

Cons

  • Review count is 23
  • One buyer received an incomplete box
  • A review limits it to copper, not multilayer

Best for: One matt black corner valve on 15 mm copper, with a lockshield in the same box.

Less suitable: A two-radiator order, or multilayer pipe, until you have checked the fitting.

The listing says one item and one piece, and the included line names a TRV head, a lockshield and instructions. One review found only one item when they expected two.

What finish and material are listed?

Matt black and brass. The model number is STI-TRV-FBC.

Which standard is named?

The specification field says CE. EN 215 is not named.

Manissa white TRV head

Rank 6

Manissa white TRV head

Our view

The Manissa ZZ-001WHT is a gloss white ABS replacement head at about £4.00, with the size field stating M30, 50 mm wide by 85 mm high. It is 4.3 from 689 ratings, the second-largest count in the set, and many reviews describe a hand-tight swap. There is no valve body, and the standard field says CE rather than EN 215. Reviews also report a plunger that misses the pin, a nut thread that is not the one on the old body, and a collar that does not reach. Over-tightening the collar can leave the pin shut. It weighs 110 g and needs no batteries. That price only makes sense after you have checked the thread and watched the pin spring back.

Pros

  • About £4.00 with 4.3 from 689 ratings
  • Many reviews describe a hand-tight head swap
  • ABS head, no batteries

Cons

  • Reviews report the plunger missing the pin
  • Thread is not universal
  • No valve body and no EN 215 line

Best for: A cheap trial head on a modern M30 body, hand-tight, after you have checked the pin springs back.

Less suitable: An older non-M30 body, or a leaking valve that needs a new body.

Common questions

Is a valve body included?

No. The title and size field describe a replacement head, M30, 50 mm wide by 85 mm high.

Will it fit every radiator?

Not on the evidence in the reviews. Buyers report a different nut thread, a collar that does not reach, and a pin that stays shut if the collar is over-tightened.

What standard is listed?

CE. EN 215 is not named.

Yi kai 2 white TRV heads

Rank 7

Yi kai 2 white TRV heads

∼£10

Our view

The Yi kai listing is two white heads at about £9.59, model Yi kai-01, at 4.3 from 525 ratings, with anti-freeze in the title. Many reviews describe a quick swap. The specification block does not state M30, and a review says the silver locking nut is M30 and did not fit older Siemens or Westherm valves. Another review says the heads only switch the radiator on or off rather than modulating, which undercuts the thermostatic title. The included-components field says NO while the title says two pieces. No EN 215 line is present. At 230 g you are buying two spare dials, and you still have to test that the radiator actually changes with the setting.

Pros

  • Two heads for about £9.59
  • 4.3 from 525 ratings
  • Many reviews describe a quick swap

Cons

  • A review says they are manual on/off, not thermostatic
  • Misses older Siemens and Westherm bodies
  • Included-components field says NO

Best for: Two spare white heads where you already know the nut is M30 and you can test that the radiator actually modulates.

Less suitable: Older Siemens or Westherm bodies, or a buyer who needs a documented liquid sensor.

Common questions

The title says thermostatic. One review says they only switch the radiator on or off.

What is included?

The included-components field says NO. The title says two pieces.

DYOUen 6 TRV heads

Rank 8

DYOUen 6 TRV heads

∼£27

Our view

The DYOUen title offers six white M30 x 1.5 heads at about £26.99, in ABS and alloy, at 4.3 from 35 ratings. Short reviews call them easy replacements. Number of items is 1 and included components is No, so the six-piece title conflicts with the count fields. Attributes say LCD, touch and battery, and a screen-size field says 7.8 cm, but the reviews read as ordinary heads and do not mention a screen. One buyer returned them because the heads suited 18 mm and their valves were 20 mm. Antifreeze is in the special-features field. Listed weight is 500 g. Measure the thread before you treat this as a house pack of six.

Pros

  • Six heads in the title at about £26.99
  • M30 x 1.5 named
  • Short reviews call them easy replacements

Cons

  • Pack count and included-components fields conflict
  • LCD and battery attributes are not backed by the reviews
  • One return over diameter

Best for: A multi-head M30 spare pack if you accept the conflicting fields and can measure the thread.

Less suitable: A buyer who needs a proven LCD smart head. This listing does not establish that.

LJAPPLIED 2 TRV heads

Rank 9

LJAPPLIED 2 TRV heads

∼£10

Our view

The LJAPPLIED pair is two glossy plastic heads at about £9.99, 4.2 from 967 ratings, with M30 x 1.5 and a 0, *, 1 to 5 scale in the bullets, plus an anti-freeze claim. Many reviews describe an easy screw-on fit. The bullet says horizontal only, not vertical. Attributes say Zigbee, app control, touch and battery power, which conflict with the mechanical bullets, so this is not a smart valve. The included-components field names a thermostatic and lockshield angled valve, while the bullets say two caps. Reviews report no shut-off and a pin length that is wrong. The heads are listed at 5 x 5 x 8.5 cm and 220 g.

Pros

  • 4.2 from 967 ratings at about £9.99 for two
  • M30 x 1.5 and a frost mark are in the bullets
  • Many reviews describe an easy screw-on fit

Cons

  • Smart attributes contradict the mechanical bullets
  • Reviews report no shut-off and wrong pin length
  • Horizontal-only limit

Best for: Two spare mechanical heads on M30 bodies you can mount horizontally.

Less suitable: A smart-home project, a vertical head, or a full angled valve set.

Common questions

Is this a Zigbee smart head?

Can it be fitted vertically?

The bullet says horizontal only, not vertical.

Does the box include a lockshield?

The included-components field names a thermostatic and lockshield angled valve. The bullets say two M30 x 1.5 caps. Treat the lockshield line as unverified.

UK Radiators Talus Bold angled

Rank 10

UK Radiators Talus Bold angled

∼£30

Our view

The UK Radiators Talus Bold (TAL-TRV-FBA) is one black angled set at about £29.95, brass and ABS, 1/2 inch by 15 mm in the title, with a head, a lockshield and fitting instructions. The listing is 4.2 from 10 ratings, the thinnest review line among the full sets. One review describes the valves failing open, with water everywhere, during fitting, which is a hard stop if the radiator has not been isolated. Another review mentions the black finish against a flat panel. No EN 215 line and no frost setting appear in the fields. At 540 g and 4 x 7.4 x 12.3 cm it is a single angled pair, not a spare head. Country of origin is not stated.

Pros

  • Named angled set with lockshield
  • Black finish for a flat panel, per one review
  • Named model TAL-TRV-FBA in brass and ABS

Cons

  • Only 10 ratings
  • One review describes the valves failing open with water everywhere during fitting
  • No EN 215 line

Best for: One black angled 15 mm set where the old valve is already angled and the review count is acceptable.

Less suitable: A first wet install with no heating engineer, given the burst report and the thin review line.

tado° Smart Radiator Thermostat X trio

Rank 11

tado° Smart Radiator Thermostat X trio

∼£159

Our view

The tado° Smart Radiator Thermostat X trio (model 105213) is three white smart heads at about £159.08, with three adapter sets, three regulatory sheets and three manuals. It is 4.1 from 805 ratings, and it is the only product in this set whose title and connectivity agree on app control, including Matter and Thread. Reviews praise per-room schedules and the rechargeable cells. A Bridge X is not in the included list, and the title says the heads are not compatible with tado° V3+. Reviews also cite temperature offset, battery warnings and leaks. A 24 volt field and a wall-mount type conflict with a battery radiator head. M30 is not stated in this file; the adapters are what the box actually lists.

Pros

  • Only product in the set whose title and connectivity agree on app control
  • Three heads and adapters at about £159.08
  • 4.1 from 805 ratings; reviews praise per-room schedules and rechargeable cells

Cons

  • No bridge in the box, and the title excludes V3+
  • Reviews cite temperature offset, battery warnings and leaks
  • 24 volt and wall-mount fields conflict with the battery head

Best for: Three existing TRV bodies in a home that can add tado° X and a compatible Thread border router.

Less suitable: A V3+ house, a single broken plastic dial, or a radiator that still needs a new 15 mm body.

Rivvra 2-pack TRV heads

Rank 12

Rivvra 2-pack TRV heads

Our view

The Rivvra JQ-TRV-Head-2PCS is two white heads at about £9.44, with M30 x 1.5, a five-level knob and frost protection named in the title. The listing is 3.3 from only three ratings. One review says the head does not move, does not control the radiator and feels flimsy. Another says it was easy to fit. The power-source field says no power source is required. Item weight is listed as 20 g for two heads, which is the figure on the file and is unusually low. No standard is stated. With three ratings, a return is the sensible plan if the head does nothing on the pin.

Pros

  • M30 x 1.5 is in the title
  • Two heads at about £9.44
  • No battery claimed

Cons

  • Only 3 ratings, at 3.3
  • A buyer says the head does not control the radiator and feels flimsy
  • Listed weight is 20 g

Best for: Only if you already accept a three-rating listing and can return it.

Less suitable: Anyone who wants a review base. The Manissa and Honeywell heads have hundreds of ratings.

Common questions

How we compared

Shelf prices, stars and review counts are the amazon.co.uk figures stored for these twelve listings. They are not a live reload on 17 October 2026. The number on each card is that star line times 20. It is not a laboratory test and not a measured gas saving. Listing conflicts and review faults stay in the written assessment. The weights below are the buying checks used to read the set. No separate scoring file was supplied for this comparison.

1

Product type

25%

A cracked dial on a sound body needs a head. A weeping nut or a new radiator needs a body, a head and a lockshield. An app schedule needs a smart head plus that brand’s gateway.

2

Connection

20%

Heads in this set are sold as M30 x 1.5, or M30 on the Manissa size field. Valve sets are 1/2 inch by 15 mm. Reviews name older Siemens and Westherm bodies as misses. Check the thread and the pin.

3

Pipe pattern

20%

Straight when the pipe already lines up with the inlet. Angled when it must turn 90 degrees. Corner when wall pipes should keep the head along the wall. The wrong pattern shows up as a second order.

4

Bullet versus attributes

15%

Trust the bullet when the attribute block disagrees. Wi-Fi, Zigbee or an LCD on the Honeywell, LJAPPLIED or DYOUen files does not make those heads smart.

5

Room and cover

10%

Do not fit a TRV in the same room as the wall thermostat. A radiator cover can fool the head. Dial numbers are not one Celsius scale.

6

Standard claim and reviews

10%

Quote EN 215 only where the listing states it. A CE line is not that claim. Star counts under about 25 stay visible as a thin sample. The card score is the stored star line, not a lab rank.

Radiator thermostat buying guide

Start with the job, then the thread, then the pipe pattern. A star rating does not tell you whether the box holds a head, a 15 mm set or a smart trio. The twelve listings below are amazon.co.uk pages, with the prices and review counts stored for this comparison, not a live reload on 17 October 2026. Dial numbers are not a measured gas saving for your home.

What is a radiator thermostat?

A radiator thermostat on a UK wet system is a thermostatic radiator valve. The head senses the air beside one radiator and varies the hot-water flow, so that room can sit cooler than the rest of the house. It is not the wall thermostat, and it is not boiler interlock. You choose it when you already know the job: a new head on a sound body, a full 15 mm set with a lockshield, or a smart head plus that brand’s gateway. This comparison is twelve amazon.co.uk listings, not a laboratory test.

Best for

  • A sound M30 body that only needs a new mechanical head
  • A photographed pipe run that already matches straight, angled or corner

Not ideal for

  • The same room as the wall thermostat
  • A tado° V3+ house if you are buying the X trio

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

A full set when only the head failed

A cracked dial on a sound body needs a head, not a new 15 mm body and lockshield. The Honeywell Thera-5, the Manissa head and the other white pairs are that job. A weeping nut or a new radiator is the point where the carton has to include the wet fitting.

  2. 2

    The wrong pipe pattern

Straight valves on floor pipes, or an angled body where the pipe already lines up, mean a second order. A Marella review records that miss. Photograph the old valve. The SVNR set-name field says Set of 20, but the title is one angled set.

  3. 3

    A Wi-Fi attribute on a plastic dial

The Honeywell, LJAPPLIED and DYOUen attribute blocks mention Wi-Fi, Zigbee or an LCD. The bullets describe mechanical heads. Do not buy those three as smart products. The tado° X trio is the listing whose title and connectivity agree, and it still excludes V3+.

What to weigh up

Type, thread and pattern

High

Decide the object before the brand. A head screws onto an existing body. A valve set includes the body and a lockshield. An app schedule needs a smart head and that brand’s gateway. Heads here are M30 x 1.5 where the listing says so. The Manissa size field says M30. The Yi kai specification block does not state a thread, and a review says the nut missed older Siemens and Westherm bodies. Valve sets are 1/2 inch by 15 mm. Pattern follows the pipes you already have.

Listing conflicts, EN 215 and frost

High

Trust the bullet when an attribute block disagrees. Wi-Fi on the Thera-5, Zigbee on the LJAPPLIED pair, and an LCD on the DYOUen six-pack title are conflicts, not features. Quote EN 215 only for the Thera-5 bullet and the VANCOCO specification field. CE on the Manissa, the UK Radiators corner and the Marella is not that standard. Star counts under about 25, including the Talus Bold at 10 and the Rivvra pair at 3, are a thin sample.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

A cracked M30 head

The body is sound and you only need a head that reaches the pin. The Honeywell Home Thera-5 is the top pick at about £22.45, M30 x 1.5, with 4.5 from 1,176 reviews. It does not include a valve body. Mount it horizontally, and ignore the Wi-Fi line in the attribute block.

A rail that needs a full set

A black, anthracite or chrome rail needs a body, a head and a lockshield in the pattern the pipes already use. The SVNR listing is one anthracite angled set at about £24.99, with 4.7 from 60 reviews. Check the grey against the rail. It is not a 20-piece pack.

Room schedules on an app

You want per-room schedules, not a spare plastic dial. The tado° Smart Radiator Thermostat X trio is three heads at about £159.08, with 4.1 from 805 reviews. It needs a compatible Thread border router. It does not work with a V3+ Internet Bridge, and the box does not include a Bridge X.

Common questions about radiator thermostats

Which radiator thermostat is the top pick in this set?
The top pick is the Honeywell Home Thera-5 at about £22.45. It is one mechanical head, M30 x 1.5, with a liquid sensor claimed in the bullet and no valve body in the box. It has 4.5 from 1,176 amazon.co.uk reviews, the largest count here. UK reviews describe a straight swap onto Drayton and older Honeywell bodies. A Wi-Fi line in the attribute block conflicts with the mechanical bullet. EN 215 is claimed in the bullet. The card score is the stored star line, not a laboratory test.
Which listing is the best value?
The best value is the Manissa ZZ-001WHT, a gloss white ABS head at about £4.00, with 4.3 from 689 reviews. The size field states M30, 50 mm wide by 85 mm high. Many reviews describe a hand-tight swap, and the head needs no batteries. There is no valve body, and the standard field says CE rather than EN 215. Reviews also report a plunger that misses the pin. Check that the pin springs back before you rely on it.
Do I need a head or a full valve set?
A cracked dial on a sound body needs a head. A weeping nut or a new radiator needs a body, a head and a lockshield. Replacement heads here are Manissa, Rivvra, Yi kai, LJAPPLIED, DYOUen and the Honeywell Thera-5. Full sets are the Marella straight, the UK Radiators corner, the SVNR angled, the Talus Bold angled and the VANCOCO two-pack corner. A lockshield balances and isolates the radiator. It is not the daily temperature control. Unscrewing a head stays dry. A new compression joint needs a drain.
Should I buy angled, straight or corner?
Photograph the old valve before you order. Straight is for a pipe that already lines up with the inlet. Angled is for a 90 degree turn. Corner is for wall pipes that should keep the head along the wall. Guides disagree on the edge cases, and a Marella review records a second order after the wrong pattern. The SVNR title is one angled set. A set-name field that says Set of 20 conflicts with that title. Do not treat it as a trade pack.
Can I fit a TRV in the same room as the wall thermostat?
No. Do not fit a thermostatic radiator valve in the same room as the wall thermostat, or the two controls fight and the boiler can lose its call for heat. Leave that room on a manual valve. A radiator cover or a long curtain can fool the head, because it then senses the boxed-in air. Energy Saving Trust says dial numbers are not one Celsius scale. Start in the middle, and keep a little heat in unused rooms rather than shutting them off completely.
Does EN 215 apply to every valve here?
No. BS EN 215:2019 covers two-port thermostatic radiator valves up to 120 °C and PN 10. Quote EN 215 only where the listing states it. In this set that is the Thera-5 bullet and VANCOCO’s specification field. A CE line is not that claim. The UK Radiators corner, the Manissa head and the Marella set name CE, not EN 215. A line on a product page is a claim unless a certificate names the model. Do not treat every ASIN here as certified.
Will the tado° X trio work with V3+?
No. The title says the tado° Smart Radiator Thermostat X trio is not compatible with tado° V3+, and tado° says it does not work with a V3+ Internet Bridge. The box lists three heads, three adapter sets and three manuals. A Bridge X is not included. You need a compatible Thread border router. M30 is not stated in this file. The adapters are what the listing includes. Wider app-head choices are in the smart radiator valve comparison.
When should I call a professional, and what does a frost mark do?
Call an engineer to drain an unfamiliar open-vented system, when the pipe or insert does not match, when joints weep, or when the job reaches the boiler. Gas work is for a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not use the head as a shut-off to lift a radiator. Close the body with the manual cap and close the lockshield. A frost mark on a dial is not a whole-house holiday plan. How a setback fits the rest of the heating is in frost protection and holiday mode.

Our verdict

The top pick is SVNR angled anthracite TRV, with the highest score in this comparison (9.4 out of 10, from 60 amazon.co.uk reviews). The best value is the Manissa white head, at about £4.00, with 4.3 from 689 reviews, when you have checked the thread and the pin. It has no valve body and the standard field says CE. A full 15 mm set is a different job, and the tado° X trio is the only listing here whose title and connectivity agree on app control. The card score is the stored star line, not a laboratory test.
