Bestway pool vacuum not sucking

Updated: 21 October 2026

The head is in the water and almost nothing is moving. A Bestway pool vacuum not sucking is four different faults wearing one sentence, and the fix depends on which box you opened. A pump kit with air in the hose is not a garden-hose kit, and neither of those is a robot with a wet charge port. This page is the order to try after the first setup. We did not open a live pump. The model list is on the [Bestway pool vacuum comparison](/hub/swimming-pools/bestway-pool-vacuum). A qualifying purchase through our links can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Which cleaner is failing

Read the label on the head before you bleed a pump you may not even be using. The Aqua Pristine 58212 pulls only when the pump is at least 2,006 litres per hour. The Flowclear 58013 connects to a garden hose. Weak flow there is how many UK reviewers found it, not a lost prime. The G100 is a battery robot. Not sucking on a G100 usually means it is off the floor, stuck, stirring dust, or not charging. The sticks, 58649 and 58771, have no UK review text in our files, so this fault tree will not invent a click sequence for them. If you bought the wrong mechanism, the named picks are on best Bestway pool vacuum.

Pump vacuum with no pull

On the Aqua Pristine, use this order. Fit the debris bag. Fill the 6 metre hose until the bubbles stop and wait about 10 seconds. Confirm the pump label is at or above 2,006 litres per hour. Start the pump and bleed the air-release valve until water appears. Then sweep slowly. Air in the hose, a pump running dry, a missing or full bag, and a pump below that flow are the reasons the head goes quiet. If the bag inflates with air and the pull dies, you are back at the prime. If the cuff will not go on without force, the diameters do not match. Unplug the pump before you open it. If the flow is still absent after a full hose, a fitted bag, and a bled valve, stop if the housing is hot or the RCD trips. People stay out of the water for the whole test.

A garden-hose kit was never a hoover

The Flowclear 58013, at £23.99, is built to run from the tap. UK reviews praise the skimmer net and call the floor head weak. Plenty say there is no hoover suction. Bleeding your filter pump will not change it, because this kit never used that pump. If you needed leaves off the liner, another afternoon at the tap will not turn it into an Aqua Pristine.

A robot that will not clean or charge

A G100 that moves and leaves a cloud of dust often still has the filter running. Turn filtration off. Give it the flat floor it was specified for, up to 18 square metres, and about 30 minutes. If it stops in the middle, lift it with the hook on your own pole. Do not swim down for it. Charging starts with a dry port. Switch the robot off, dry the pins, and use the supplied USB cable with a certified 5 V adaptor. That adaptor is not in the box. Let a full charge take 2.5 to 4.5 hours before you decide the battery is dead. If the RCD trips, leave it tripped until someone competent has looked. A robot that still will not charge is a question for the amazon.co.uk seller under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

Common questions

Why has my Aqua Pristine got no suction?
The usual causes are air in the 6 metre hose, a debris bag missing or full, or a filter pump under 2,006 litres per hour. Fill the hose until the bubbles stop, wait about 10 seconds, fit the bag, and bleed the pump's air-release valve until water appears. Unplug before you open the pump, and keep everyone out of the pool while it runs.
How do I bleed the filter pump?
Open the air-release valve, with the hose already full of water, until a steady stream of water appears, then close it. You do this from outside the pool, with the pump's outdoor socket on an RCD. If the housing is hot or the RCD trips, you stop. You do not remove the lid of a running pump.
Why does the Flowclear head only push dirt around?
UK reviews say that is what this garden-hose head does. The 58013 runs from the tap, not from the filter pump, and the net is the part people keep. The floor head has no hoover suction to restore.
The robot moves but leaves dust. Is it broken?
Often the filter is still running. The G100 manual says to turn filtration off, because that current pushes the robot and stirs the floor. Leave it for the stated 30 minutes on a flat floor within 18 square metres. If it still only polishes one patch and then stops, lift it with the hook.
The robot will not charge. What is safe to try?
Dry the port, switch the robot off, and use the supplied USB cable with a certified 5 V adaptor, which is not included. Give it the full 2.5 to 4.5 hours. Do not charge it wet, and do not scrape the contacts as a first attempt. If you are unsure, stop.
When do I stop and talk to the seller?
Stop when the RCD trips, the pump or charger housing is hot or cracked, a lithium pack is swollen, or the liner or wall is damaged. For a G100 that will not charge after a dry port and the right adaptor, the route is the amazon.co.uk seller under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Do not keep resetting a tripped RCD on a wet patio.
