How to use a Bestway pool vacuum

Updated: 21 October 2026

The first run fails for a boring reason. On an Aqua Pristine the 6 metre hose still holds air, so the pump spins and the head does nothing. On a G100 the charge port was wet, or the filter current shoves the robot off its path. This is how to use a Bestway pool vacuum for those two boxes, in the order the manuals give, for a UK above-ground pool. We did not film a setup. The model matrix is on the [Bestway pool vacuum comparison](/hub/swimming-pools/bestway-pool-vacuum). A qualifying purchase through our links can earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

Know which cleaner is in the box

The Aqua Pristine 58212 is a filter-pump kit: a four-section pole, a 6 metre hose, two heads and a debris bag. It has no battery. The pump has to deliver at least 2,006 litres per hour, and the pool claim stops at 4.57 metres. Adults assemble it. Children do not use it. The G100 is a cordless robot for a flat above-ground floor up to 18 square metres, with a stated run of about 30 minutes. The certified 5 V adaptor is not in the box. Use one that matches the manual's 5 V rating, on a dry RCD-protected socket. The Flowclear 58013 is a garden-hose kit. The pump steps below will not give it hoover suction. The Aqua Clean 58282 is a head only. Fit it to a pole of about 30 mm inside diameter.

Run a filter-pump vacuum

Stand the Aqua Pristine parts on the grass and fit the bag before any hose sees the pump. The manual says you do not run it without that bag, because the debris is heading for the filter. Join the pole sections so the head sits flat on the liner, then choose the brush head or the standard head for the dirt you can see. Fill the 6 metre hose with water until the bubbles stop. Hold it so the water stays in, and wait about 10 seconds. Connect it, start the pump, and if the pump runs dry, open the air-release valve and bleed until water appears, then close it. Sweep slowly. You unplug the pump before you open it for maintenance. People stay out of the water while that pump runs. The G100 does not use this hose.

Run a G100

Charge the robot before it ever sees the pool, and charge it dry. Switch the unit off, dry the port, and use the supplied USB cable with a certified DC 5 V adaptor. The adaptor is a separate purchase. A full charge before the first use takes about 2.5 to 4.5 hours. Put the robot on the flat floor and let it submerge fully. Turn the filtration off first. A running filter pushes the robot off its path. The stated run is about 30 minutes. If the bin is heavy, empty it after about 10 minutes. Retrieval is a pole you supply. You do not swim down for it while any other pump is still live. Dry the port before the next charge. A still-dead charge is not fixed by another hour in the pool.

When to stop and unplug

Outdoor pump plugs and chargers in a UK garden belong on an RCD of not more than 30 mA. Unplug before you adjust outdoor electrical gear. If the RCD trips, you stop. You do not keep resetting it on a wet patio to finish the leaves. Stop and get a competent person if the pump housing is cracked or hot, if a lithium pack is swollen, or if the liner or the wall is damaged. If these steps still leave no pull, the fault order is on Bestway pool vacuum not sucking.

Common questions

How do I get the air out of the Bestway vacuum hose?
On the Aqua Pristine, fill the 6 metre hose until the bubbles stop, wait about 10 seconds, then connect it to the pump circuit. If the pump runs dry after that, open the air-release valve and bleed until water appears. You unplug before you pull the pump apart. People stay out of the pool while the pump is running.
Which end connects to the pool?
The vacuum head and the pole go in the water. The hose runs from that head to the filter circuit, using the adaptor that matches your pump. You do not connect this hose to the garden tap. That joint belongs to the Flowclear kit, which is a different product.
Can people stay in the water while I vacuum with the pump?
No. The 58212 manual says you do not run the pump while the pool is occupied. That includes the person holding the pole. An RCD of not more than 30 mA is the right protection for the outdoor socket. It is not a reason to vacuum around swimmers.
How do I charge the G100?
Switch it off, dry the port, and connect the supplied USB cable to a certified 5 V adaptor. That adaptor is not included. Charge fully before the first use, which the manual puts at about 2.5 to 4.5 hours. The motor is meant to start about five seconds after the robot is fully submerged, with filtration off.
Why does the manual say to turn the filter off?
The G100 moves on its own jets. Filter current pushes it off that path, so a robot that wanders is often sharing the pool with a pump you left on. Switch filtration off for the half hour it runs, then switch the filter back on when the robot is out.
How do I lift the robot if it stops in the middle?
Use your own pole on the retrieval hook. UK reviews describe robots that stop short of the wall. You do not dive for it, and you do not leave a filter pump running while you lean in. Empty a heavy bin after about 10 minutes if the leaves are thick, then set it down again.
