Best mesh sanding discs for UK sanders

Updated: 21 October 2026

You already know the pad size on your random orbital, or you are sanding filler with a block rather than a round hook face. The best mesh sanding discs on amazon.co.uk are the pack that matches that pad or hand format, with enough UK reviews that the complaints mean something. Peter F. ranked the eleven listings in the [sanding mesh comparison](/hub/sanders/sanding-mesh) by diameter, stated grit mix, price per disc and review count. There was no wear test, and mesh still needs extraction. A qualifying purchase can earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Decision order is in the [buying guide](/hub/sanders/sanding-mesh/sub/sanding-mesh-buying-guide), plaster work in [sanding mesh for plaster and filler](/hub/sanders/sanding-mesh/sub/sanding-mesh-plaster-and-filler), and mesh versus paper in [mesh sandpaper vs sandpaper](/hub/sanders/sanding-mesh/sub/sanding-mesh-vs-sandpaper).

What best can mean in this set

Format comes before stars. A 150 mm disc will not centre on a 125 mm pad, and a roll cut for a block is the wrong buy if you wanted fifty hook-and-loop discs. The cheapest cost per disc sits around £0.22 on a 125 mm box, while a 150 mm mixed pack works out nearer £0.42. Homebuilding’s rough shape was about £24 for fifty mesh discs, about £10 for punched paper and about £5 for a ProDec roll. Several five-star rows sit on one to five reviews. Best means a named pack for a named pad, not one winner for every sander.

If your pad is 125 mm

The deepest UK sample on a 125 mm pad is Sruhrak’s 50-disc pack at £15.29, 4.2 from 161 reviews, with grits from 80 to 400 in aluminium oxide. UK comments praise less clogging than paper, and they also report frayed edges, weak grip on some pads, and dust that still missed a fresh bag. NuoDunco at £10.99 states ten each of 80, 120, 180 and 240, plus five each of 320 and 400, with no review line. That printed split is why it is the best value row. SI FANG at £15.99 shows 4.7 from 32, but the bullets say 80 grit only. Ruidawin’s 5.0 rests on three reviews.

If your pad is 150 mm

Pihemum’s 60-piece pack at £24.99, 4.4 from 65 UK reviews, is the only 150 mm hook-and-loop mesh set here. The title lists 80 through 400, while the grit-number field says 80. UK notes describe less loading than punched paper, plus torn edges and discs that left the pad. It fits a 150 mm orbital. It is a poor match on a 125 mm machine. Every other disc here is 125 mm or a sheet or roll.

If you are not using a round pad

ProDec Advance’s 5 m roll at £4.99 is the hand stand-out: 4.6 from 1,372 UK reviews at 120 grit and 115 mm width. It is the top pick of the wider comparison, still one grit, and the wrong shape for a round pad. The QZATACAEN 240 grit roll has a tiny review count beside it. Yurifaz’s 80 × 230 mm sheets fit palm blocks on a handful of reviews. S&R prints two rectangle sizes. Gerlon’s 180 grit refill fits Gerlon’s shim only.

Leave these if the evidence is thin

KQCXIK’s ceramic 125 mm pack at £21.99 states a mix in the bullets while the grit field says 240, with no UK-marked review text in the notes. Ceramic on that pack is a label, not Norton’s three-times test. Skip perfect scores on almost no reviews: Ruidawin’s three-review line, the five-star 240 grit roll, and the five-star sheet pack. NuoDunco’s missing review line is equally thin. Mesh is still not dust-free.

Common questions

Which pack if I have a 125 mm sander?
Sruhrak’s 50-disc box at £15.29 is the best-supported mixed 125 mm row, with UK notes on grip and frayed edges. NuoDunco at £10.99 states the clearest per-grit split but has no review line. SI FANG suits coarse-heavy work if you accept an 80-grit-weighted box. Ruidawin’s 5.0 rests on three reviews.
Which pack if I have a 150 mm sander?
Pihemum’s 60-disc pack at £24.99 is the only 150 mm mesh disc set here. It fits 150 mm hook-and-loop pads only. Read the grit conflict on the listing before you assume how many fine discs are in the carton. The title lists 80 through 400, while the grit-number field says 80.
What if I only sand filler by hand?
ProDec’s 120 grit roll at £4.99 is the strongest evidence-led hand option in this capture, with 1,372 UK reviews behind the 4.6 line. Pair it with a block you already trust, or pick Yurifaz sheets if a fixed 80 × 230 mm rectangle matches your block. Skip Gerlon unless you own the matching shim.
Is the highest star rating the best buy?
Not in this category. Several five-star listings sit on one to five reviews, and NuoDunco has no score line at all. A 4.2 from 161 UK buyers on Sruhrak tells you more about real friction on a 125 mm pad than a perfect score from three orders.
Is the ceramic pack worth more than aluminium oxide?
Only if you need the stated mix and you treat ceramic as a seller claim, not a lab result. KQCXIK costs more per disc than the aluminium oxide mixed packs, with grit-field conflict and no UK-marked reviews in our notes. Most DIY wood and filler work in this set is aluminium oxide on Sruhrak, NuoDunco, SI FANG or Pihemum.
What should I skip if I do not own the Gerlon block?
Skip Gerlon’s refill sheets. They are sized for Gerlon’s shim holder, not as a universal mesh sheet. Skip S&R if you wanted one rectangle without checking the two sizes on the listing.
