Best revolving punch pliers

Updated: 21 October 2026

Star ratings on these revolving punches sit in a heap. Eight of the ten kept listings are 4.6 on amazon.co.uk, and the largest file belongs to a plier that is not the one for a single belt. The best revolving punch pliers here depend on the job: one extra round hole, a box of spare heads, or a named 5 mm tube. This page assigns the listings we kept. It is not a lab rank. Prices were read on 19 October 2026. The full rows are on the [revolving punch pliers comparison](/hub/pliers/revolving-punch-pliers). For one belt hole this weekend

If you need one more round hole in a belt you already wear, the blue Diyife at £7.99 is the listing that matches. It states 2 mm to 4.5 mm, with two spare plates and a ruler, and 4.6 from 10,058 ratings. One UK reviewer with arthritis said the squeeze was manageable. That is one person’s report. Skip it when the hole is 5 mm, a slot or an oval. The selector can be stiff, and no lock is stated. The black Diyife at £8.99 shares that 10,058 pool. Pay the extra pound only for black handles. Spacing for the strap is on the punch holes in a leather belt page.

If you want spares in the box

The orange Diyife at £9.99 puts six spare heads, five copper pads, a ruler, a grinding rod and a file in the parcel, with a lockable clasp. The rating is 4.6 from 3,194 reviews, a file of its own. At 560 g it is the heavy kit. A review that is not marked United Kingdom said the largest tube missed the base plate. That is one note, not a UK failure rate, and there is still no 5 mm tube. Move to the DSL at £8.99 only when the hole is not round. It lists round punches at 3, 3.5 and 4 mm, two flats and an oval at 7×4 mm. A reviewer found the slotted heads sit along the belt and catch the strap. There is no 2 mm size.

If you want a 5 mm tube and a named maker

S&R 274.100.240 at £13.48 and Knipex 90 70 220 at £17.52 are the two listings that print a 5 mm tube, an opening spring and a lock. S&R is 4.6 from 1,775 reviews, 24 cm and 280 g, with origin stated as Germany. A UK note of leather called 4 mm is that belt, not a rated capacity. A non-UK review said the tubes can come away, and there is no spare set. Knipex is 4.6 from 1,573 reviews and 251 g. The pliers are the only thing in the box. One UK review from 2015 said the tool looked used. Choose Knipex for that article number. Choose S&R for the same sizes at about £4 less. Skip both for one 4 mm hole. Mark the belt first. That sequence is on the how to use revolving punch pliers page.

What not to treat as a winner

XOOL at £13.99 has 4.6 from 17,629 reviews, the biggest file here, and still stops at 4.5 mm. The wheel is described as exceptionally stiff, and a UK reviewer marked expensive suede. Volume is not a spare kit. BGS 75835 at £5.47 is 4.2 from 582. Bend notes in that file are not marked United Kingdom. Baysihin at £7.99 has no review line and no step-by-step sizes. An absent rating is not a hidden 4.6. Maun’s 2230 and 2233 are not in this set. The “70% less effort” line is Maun’s claim for 2233 only. The checks without a shortlist are in the revolving punch pliers buying guide.

Common questions

Which punch is enough for one extra belt hole?
The blue Diyife at £7.99, with 2 mm to 4.5 mm and two spare plates, is the one-hole listing. Use it when the hole is round and not larger than 4.5 mm. If the tongue needs 5 mm, move to S&R or Knipex. If the hole is oval, move to the DSL. The black Diyife is the same sizes in another colour, not a stronger rating.
Which listing puts spare heads in the box?
The orange Diyife at £9.99 lists six spare heads and five copper pads, plus a ruler, a grinding rod and a file. The blue Diyife lists two spare plates. DSL lists two backup pads. Knipex, S&R, BGS and Baysihin do not put a second set in the parcel. XOOL and Gunpla do not state a spare-head count.
Which listing has a 5 mm tube?
S&R 274.100.240 states 5 mm and Knipex 90 70 220 states 5.0 mm. Both also list the smaller steps from 2 mm. No other kept listing prints 5 mm as its own step. Baysihin’s “from 2.5 mm to 5 mm” does not show the in-between sizes, so it is not a substitute.
Why not crown the 17,629-review XOOL?
The count is real and it is the largest here. The same notes describe an exceptionally stiff selector, a hook one reviewer could not close, and a UK complaint about marked suede. The price is £13.99, above the blue and orange Diyife, without a stated spare-plate count and without a 5 mm tube. A long file does not repair a missing size.
Is the black Diyife a second bestseller?
No. On this capture it shares the blue listing’s 10,058 ratings and the same best-seller rank, and the review titles match. It costs £8.99 against £7.99. Buy it for the black handles if you want them. Do not add the two counts and call the brand twice as reviewed.
Who should skip the £5.47 BGS?
Skip it if you want spare plates, a stated spring or lock, a 5 mm tube, or a 4.6 from a four-figure file. The 4.2 from 582 is the weak spot, and the written bend notes are not UK reviews. It remains the cheapest named 2–4.5 mm plier for one thin hole, if you accept that limit.
