Best paint spray gun: fence top pick or best value

Updated: 21 October 2026

You are pricing a fence or a shed coating, and amazon.co.uk is putting a 5.0 from a handful of reviews beside a 4.5 from several thousand. The best paint spray gun here is a top pick on review volume, then a best value under £35, then a short skip list. Peter F. used amazon.co.uk shelf figures from 19 October 2026 and notes where a 20 October snippet had moved. We did not spray the guns. A qualifying purchase through the amazon.co.uk links can earn a commission at no extra cost to you. The twelve-row table is the [paint spray gun comparison](/hub/painting-supplies/paint-spray-gun).

Why the Wagner fence gun is the top pick

The top pick is the Wagner fence and decking sprayer, ASIN B01M6XZIZY. The 19 October 2026 snapshot showed £60.00, 4.5 stars from 4,784 ratings, 460 W, a 1400 ml container and a 1.8 m hose. The comparison keeps that snapshot. The motor sits off the wrist, so that fill is less of an arm test than a handheld. Screwfix lists Wagner 2369472 at £74.98 including VAT and says that sprayer is not suitable for emulsion or masonry. If the coating is emulsion, the paint spray gun for fences page is the next stop.

The best value stays with the NEU MASTER

The best value is the NEU MASTER, ASIN B09XMVH397, at £31.89 with 4.3 stars from 1,779 ratings. The saved row lists 500 W and a 1200 ml container, £28.11 under the fence gun. You hold the motor and you do not get the 1.8 m hose. A shed door or a short run of panels is where that trade makes sense. The DEKOPRO was £29.99 with 2.6 stars from 11 ratings. Saving £1.90 does not repair a thin, low average. One NEU MASTER field prints a hose length of 2 mm. Leave it as printed. DIN limit, nozzle and a UK plug are in the paint spray gun buying guide.

The W 100 is a shorter job

The Wagner W 100, ASIN B01BUDIY2G, is the wrong Wagner when you wanted the fence sprayer. The snapshot was £55 and 4.2 stars from 3,289 ratings. A 20 October snippet was still £55 from 3,291. Wagner’s UK page lists an RRP of £79.99, 90 DIN-seconds and an 800 ml cup. Rank 1 in Paint Sprayers is this cup, not the hose gun. A chair fits 800 ml. A long fence means more refills than the 1400 ml gun.

Who should skip both Wagners

The YFFU at 5.0 from 13 ratings (about £49.99) and DEKO ASIN B0H1MPP7BL at 5.0 from 2 ratings (about £42.99) do not outrank 4.5 from 4,784. The ToCzernobgol JH-12Z at about £99.99 shows 4.8 from 30 ratings, and some reviews describe a mains plug. The BENTOHKLE R500 needs about 3.0–3.9 cfm at 2.0–3.5 bar. Without a compressor it does not coat a fence. If the tin is emulsion or a brush-only fence paint, neither Wagner is a reason to ignore the label.

Common questions

Which gun is the top pick in this set?
The top pick is the Wagner fence and decking sprayer, ASIN B01M6XZIZY. The 19 October 2026 amazon.co.uk snapshot showed £60.00 and 4.5 stars from 4,784 ratings, with 460 W, a 1400 ml container and a 1.8 m hose. A 20 October snippet was about £59.95 and 4,801 ratings, and the comparison keeps the snapshot. It leads on review volume, not on rank 1 in Paint Sprayers. Screwfix says the Wagner 2369472 style is not suitable for emulsion or masonry.
Which gun is the best value?
The best value is the NEU MASTER, ASIN B09XMVH397, at £31.89 with 4.3 stars from 1,779 ratings. Saved figures are 500 W and 1200 ml, £28.11 below the fence gun at £60. You hold the motor, and you do not get the 1.8 m hose. The DEKOPRO at £29.99 with 2.6 from 11 ratings is cheaper and is not the value pick. A hose-length field prints 2 mm, so that listing is not a hose sprayer.
Why not the 5.0-star guns?
A 5.0 from a small sample is not a better gun. The YFFU showed 5.0 from 13 ratings at about £49.99, and DEKO ASIN B0H1MPP7BL showed 5.0 from two ratings at about £42.99. The fence gun’s 4.5 rests on 4,784 amazon.co.uk ratings. Thirteen perfect scores can shift after a few more buyers, and two scores are barely evidence. Neither listing outranks that 4.5 on the review-volume rule used here.
Is the W 100 the same buy as the fence sprayer?
No. Take the fence sprayer for a 1400 ml container and a 1.8 m hose at the saved £60, with the motor off your wrist. Take the W 100, ASIN B01BUDIY2G, for a shorter job and an 800 ml cup. The snapshot was £55 with 4.2 from 3,289 ratings. Wagner UK states 90 DIN-seconds and an RRP of £79.99. Rank 1 in Paint Sprayers is the W 100, not a second name for the fence gun.
Who should skip both Wagners?
Skip both if you need a compressor-fed gun for a car panel, or a cordless runtime the reviews support. The BENTOHKLE R500 needs about 3.0–3.9 cfm at 2.0–3.5 bar and was saved at about £74.99 with 3.7 from 20 ratings. It does not spray without a compressor. The ToCzernobgol JH-12Z was about £99.99 with 4.8 from 30 ratings and a claimed 20–25 minutes per 4000 mAh pack, yet some reviews describe a plug.
Does rank 1 in Paint Sprayers mean the W 100 is the fence gun?
No. Rank 1 in Paint Sprayers was the Wagner W 100, the £55 cup gun with an 800 ml container. The fence sprayer was rank 13 in Garden Sprayers, with 1400 ml and a 1.8 m hose. A category rank records where a listing sat that day. It does not merge the two machines.
