Thermostatic mixing valve

The best thermostatic mixing valves, compared.

Top pick: Zamery thermostatic shower mixer Best value: Rankomu Rankomufmv79gowcg – Lowest shelf price in this set that still prints a 38°C stop and a lock to 42°C, at £15.99. Updated 16 October 2026.

Stored hot water in a UK home is kept hot to limit, while the water that reaches a bath, shower or basin has to stay cool enough not to scald. A thermostatic mixing valve sits between those two jobs. It blends hot and cold water and uses a temperature-sensitive element to hold the mixed outlet near a chosen temperature. Several reviews describe early failure or water far hotter than the setting. None of the nine states, BS EN 1111 or BS EN 1287. The [thermostatic mixing valve buying guide](/hub/medical-protection/thermostatic-mixing-valve/sub/thermostatic-mixing-valve-buying-guide) sets out when an inline body, an exposed bar or a concealed valve is the right form, and when a scheme mark takes you outside this set. Says store hot water at 60°C or above and aim for 50°C at outlets within a minute, with the blend close to the outlet and strainers cleaned at least annually. And describe a two-metre blended leg as a hygiene limit.

The best thermostatic mixing valves in detail

Zamery thermostatic shower mixer

Rank 1

Zamery thermostatic shower mixer

∼£36

Our view

The Zamery is an exposed chrome shower bar, 1.2 kg and about 30 × 8 × 9 cm, with a left handle for flow and a right handle for temperature. The bullets set a 38°C safety lock, and a higher temperature needs the button pushed. Three UK reviews, against a listing line of 5.0 from eight, praise the fitting and a steady temperature. That file carries the highest score in this comparison, so the Zamery is the top pick when you want an exposed bar rather than a small inline blender. The sample is eight reviews, no TMV2 or TMV3 mark is printed, and the specification block gives no pressure and no thread size. The bullets say solid brass while the material field says stainless steel, so the body claim is unresolved. The title is wall mounted, the installation field says single hole, and the included component is a shower tap, which puts it in a different class from the inline blenders. At £35.91 it suits a household shower you can feel, and a care outlet still needs a scheme this bar does not state.

Pros

  • Exposed bar with a separate handle for flow and a separate handle for temperature
  • Printed 38°C safety lock
  • Three UK reviews mention fitting and a steady temperature
  • Highest score in this set, from a 5.0 listing line of eight reviews

Cons

  • Eight reviews is a thin sample for a 5.0 line
  • No TMV standard, thread size or pressure appears in the specification block
  • The solid-brass bullet conflicts with a stainless-steel material field
  • A shower bar, so it does not take the place of an inline basin or dog-wash blender

Best for: A wall-mounted household shower where you want an exposed bar and a 38°C lock, and you accept a file of eight reviews.

Less suitable: An inline basin or bath blend, a concealed install, or any outlet that needs a stated TMV2 or TMV3 mark.

Common questions

Is the Zamery an inline service valve?

No. The title is a wall-mounted thermostatic shower mixer bar. Included component: shower tap. Weight 1.2 kg. It is a different form from the small brass blenders.

What stop is stated?

The bullets set a safety lock at 38°C, with higher temperatures only if the button is pushed. No TMV2 or TMV3 mark, no pressure, and no thread size appear in the specification block.

Brass or stainless steel?

The bullets say solid brass. The material field says stainless steel, and handle material says brass. Record the conflict. Three UK reviews praise value, fitting and a steady temperature.

Coleniny CN607

Rank 2

Coleniny CN607

∼£19

Our view

The Coleniny CN607 is a 380 g inline brass body with three G1/2 ports, and amazon.co.uk reviewers have fitted it to showers, including an outdoor shower. The bullets set a 38°C stop, allow 42°C only while the red button is pressed, and print a mixed band of 35–45°C against a hot inlet of 60–85°C. The listing line is 4.6 from 87 reviews, which is the largest inline review file in this set. One UK review describes about 70°C at the outlet from a 30°C setting after the valve had already failed more than once. The specification names ASSE and CSA. TMV2, TMV3, BS EN 1111 and BS EN 1287 are absent from that field, and no cold-water fail volume is printed. At the £18.99 shelf price it is a household blender you can check by hand if you accept that failure report. A care bath, or an England new-dwelling bath that must be signed off under Requirement G3(4), calls for a scheme route this listing does not state.

Pros

  • 380 g three-port G1/2 body with H and C marks
  • Printed 38°C stop, 42°C only with the red button, and a 35–45°C mixed band
  • Largest inline review file in this set: 4.6 from 87
  • Hot inlet printed as 60–85°C, so you can compare it with the cylinder

Cons

  • One UK review reports about 70°C from a 30°C setting after repeated failures
  • ASSE and CSA are named, and TMV2, TMV3, BS EN 1111 and BS EN 1287 are not
  • No cold-water fail volume is printed

Best for: A basin or shower blend you can feel by hand, when you want the largest inline review file in this set and you have read the hot-outlet report.

Less suitable: A care outlet, or an England new-dwelling bath that must be signed off under Requirement G3(4).

Common questions

Can this Coleniny valve be used on a shower?

The title calls it a thermostatic mixing valve for a shower system, and the bullets describe three G1/2 BSP ports. UK reviews also mention a shower and an outdoor shower. The listing does not state TMV2 or TMV3.

What safety stop does the listing state?

The bullets say the thermostat can be set to 38°C and raised to 42°C by pressing the red button while turning. They also state a mixed range of 35–45°C and ±2°C. No cold-water fail volume is printed.

What is the body made of?

The bullets say an H59 brass body and a plastic handle. The material field says brass. The stated weight is 380 g.

Wincal ileesisib1rg6cmy

Rank 3

Wincal ileesisib1rg6cmy

∼£13

Our view

The Wincal is the lightest body in the set, at 190 g and about 70 × 55 × 50 mm, with a £12.69 shelf price on a G1/2 thread. The title calls it a thermostatic mixing valve, while the bullets describe ratio adjustment, marked inlets and a check valve against backflow. A 38°C stop, a mixed range and a temperature fail-safe are all unstated. The listing line is 4.6 from eight reviews. The one UK text says it made water safer for children while washing-up water stayed hot, and it does not describe a thermometer test. The specification names ASME B16.34 and MSS SP 80, the ports field says 2 against a three-way description, and the maximum-pressure field says 0.5 kPa, which is not a credible mains figure. It is a cheap brass blender for a basin you will judge by thermometer, and the missing stop is why a printed limit has to be found on a different listing.

Pros

  • Lowest shelf price in the set, at £12.69
  • Light 190 g body on a G1/2 thread
  • One UK review describes safer water for children at a basin
  • A check valve against backflow is claimed

Cons

  • No 38°C stop, mixed range or temperature fail-safe is printed
  • 4.6 from only eight reviews, with a single UK text
  • ASME B16.34 and MSS SP 80 are not TMV2 or TMV3
  • The 0.5 kPa pressure field is not a credible mains figure

Best for: A low-cost basin blend where you will judge the outlet with a thermometer and you do not need a stated temperature stop.

Less suitable: A bath, shower or care outlet where a printed temperature stop is the reason you are buying.

Common questions

Does Wincal print a 38°C stop?

No. The bullets describe ratio adjustment, marked inlets and a check valve. They do not state a safety-button temperature, a mixed range, or a fail-safe shutoff.

What did the UK review say?

One review, against a listing line of 4.6 from 8, says it made water safer for children while washing-up water stayed hot. It does not describe a test.

Which standard is named?

ASME B16.34 and MSS SP 80. TMV2 and TMV3 are not named. The maximum pressure field says 0.5 kPa, and the weight is 190 g.

kisimixer KM806

Rank 4

kisimixer KM806

∼£17

Our view

The kisimixer KM806 is a 380 g inline valve on 1/2 inch BSP, and UK reviewers have put it on a mini shower, an outside dog wash, a side shower and a bidet sprayer. The bullets follow the same pattern as the Coleniny: 38°C, up to 42°C with the red button, a mixed band of 35–45°C, and a hot inlet of 60–85°C. The listing line is 4.4 from 80 reviews. The same file records failures within a week and after two months, so the star line has a durability complaint sitting inside it. One review describes the body as ABS and brass, against a brass bullet, and another says it needs fitting pipes and will not screw straight onto a tap. The only mark named is CE, with no TMV2 or TMV3 and no cold-water fail volume. At £16.99 it suits a household job you can watch, including a dog wash, if you will check it in the first weeks and you already have pipe fittings.

Pros

  • UK reviews cover a dog wash, a mini shower, a bidet sprayer and a side shower
  • Printed 38°C stop and a 35–45°C mixed band at £16.99
  • 4.4 from 80 reviews, a larger file than Rankomu or Bohaner
  • 1/2 inch BSP ports, with the same H and C pattern as the Coleniny

Cons

  • Failures reported within a week and after two months
  • Needs fitting pipes and will not screw straight onto a tap
  • CE is the only mark named, with no fail-safe volume
  • One review describes ABS and brass, against the brass bullet

Best for: A dog wash, side shower or basin where you can feel the water, you have pipe fittings, and you will check the valve in the first weeks.

Less suitable: A tap-tail retrofit with no extra pipe, or a care outlet that needs a stated TMV3 mark.

Common questions

Can the kisimixer be used for a shower or a dog wash?

The title says shower system and basin. UK reviews describe a mini shower, an outside dog wash, a side shower and a bidet sprayer. Those are uses in the file, not a scheme certificate.

What stop is printed?

The bullets say 38°C, up to 42°C with the red button, and a mixed range of 35–45°C. The specification field says CE only.

Will it screw straight onto a tap?

One UK review says it needs fitting pipes and will not go straight onto the tap. The bullets describe 1/2 inch BSP pipe connections, not tap tails.

Bohaner 04-502

Rank 5

Bohaner 04-502

∼£17

Our view

The Bohaner 04-502 is a compact inline valve, about 115 mm high and 300 g, on G1/2 BSP, and the listing says the thread is unsuitable for 3/4 inch pipe. The factory setting is around 38°C, and the red button is described as going up to about 50°C, which sits higher than the 42°C stops printed for the Coleniny and the kisimixer. A bullet says that if the cold supply fails the valve helps reduce sudden hot scalding, and no volume is stated for that claim. The listing line is 4.4 from 18 reviews. The file holds three short UK texts, all positive, including one that mentions three installs with no comebacks. That sample cannot show a second year of use, and no TMV standard is named. At £16.89 it is a small G1/2 blender for a 15 mm outlet you will set with a thermometer, and the about-50°C button is the reason to keep it off a bath that has a legal cap.

Pros

  • States G1/2, DN15 and 15 mm, and says the thread is unsuitable for 3/4 inch pipe
  • Factory setting around 38°C at £16.89
  • Three short UK texts are positive, including three installs with no comebacks
  • A cold-supply sentence is printed, even though no volume is given

Cons

  • The red button is described as reaching about 50°C
  • Only 18 reviews, and three short UK texts cannot show a second year
  • No TMV2, TMV3 or pressure figure is named
  • The cold-supply claim has no test volume

Best for: A 15 mm basin or shower run where you want a small body and you will set the outlet with a thermometer.

Less suitable: 3/4 inch pipe, a care bath, or any outlet that needs the override capped at 42°C.

Common questions

Will Bohaner fit 3/4 inch pipe?

No. A bullet says the thread is G1/2 BSP / DN15 / 15 mm and is not suitable for 3/4 inch pipes. Overall size is about 115 mm high and 65 mm wide.

How high can the button go?

The bullets say a factory setting around 38°C and a red button up to about 50°C. That 50°C figure is a listing claim. No TMV2 or TMV3 mark is printed.

What do the reviews say?

The listing line is 4.4 from 18. The file has three short UK texts, all positive, including three installs with no comebacks. That sample cannot show durability.

TreMax 739694904447

Rank 6

TreMax 739694904447

∼£23

Our view

The gold Tremax is a 460 g inline blender on a G1/2 British straight thread, with a centigrade scale and a lead-free brass claim. The bullets set a cold inlet of 4–29°C, a hot inlet of 50–95°C and an outlet of 20–50°C, and you press a red button to go past 38°C. The listing line is 4.3 from 428 reviews, and the sampled texts match the grey Tremax file, so this is one pool sitting on two colours. Themes in that pool include failures inside six months. The specification names BS EN 1074-1 and BS EN 1074-2, a different standard from TMV2 or TMV3. The maximum-pressure field prints 0.5 kPa, which is not a credible mains figure, and no fail-safe volume is stated. At £22.99 it costs more than the Coleniny and the kisimixer without a separate body of UK evidence, so it suits you if you want this gold finish and you will check the outlet with a thermometer.

Pros

  • Printed outlet of 20–50°C and a red button past 38°C
  • Hot-inlet bullets run to 95°C, wider than the 85°C Coleniny and kisimixer bullets
  • 460 g body on a G1/2 British straight thread
  • A large review count, once you treat it as one pool with the grey listing

Cons

  • The 428 reviews are the same sampled texts as the grey Tremax
  • Failures inside six months appear in that shared pool
  • BS EN 1074 is a different standard from TMV2 or TMV3
  • The 0.5 kPa pressure field is not a credible mains figure, and no fail volume is stated

Best for: An ordinary shower or basin blend when you specifically want the gold finish and you will not count the 428 reviews twice.

Less suitable: A care bath or a new-dwelling sign-off, and any buyer who reads BS EN 1074 as TMV2.

Common questions

Does the gold Tremax state a shower use?

The title calls it a shower mixer valve with a 1/2 inch G connector. A UK review describes it on a shower. The listing does not state TMV2 or TMV3.

What temperature range is printed?

The bullets say a cold inlet of 4–29°C, a hot inlet of 50–95°C, and an outlet of 20–50°C. Over 38°C needs the red button. No fail-safe volume is stated.

Which standard is named?

The specification field says BS EN 1074-1 and BS EN 1074-2. It does not say BS EN 1111 or BS EN 1287. The ports field says 1, and the maximum pressure field says 0.5 kPa.

TreMax 0739694904591

Rank 7

TreMax 0739694904591

∼£24

Our view

The grey Tremax is a 450 g inline blender at £23.99, with the same bullet temperatures as the gold listing: cold 4–29°C, hot 50–95°C, outlet 20–50°C, and a red button past 38°C. The listing line is again 4.3 from 428, and the first review texts match the gold file. You are reading one evidence pool a second time, including failures inside six months, rather than a fresh durability test. The specification block is where the colours diverge: this file prints 10 bar, a ports field of 1, and the words BS and CE. The gold file prints 0.5 kPa and BS EN 1074, so those two pressure figures stay on their own colours. Neither block names TMV2, TMV3, BS EN 1111 or BS EN 1287, and no fail-safe volume is stated. The grey body is a finish choice once you have already accepted the shared review file.

Pros

  • Same stated outlet band and 38°C button as the gold Tremax
  • Specification field prints 10 bar, a figure that at least looks like mains pressure
  • G1/2 UK straight thread on the inlet and the outlet
  • £23.99 still sits in the mid price band of this set

Cons

  • The review line repeats the gold listing’s 428 texts
  • BS and CE name no TMV standard number
  • The ports field says 1 against a hot, cold and mixed description
  • Early failures sit in the shared review pool

Best for: The grey finish of this blender, after you have read the gold file as the same evidence.

Less suitable: Anyone adding 428 and 428 into 856 reviews, or a buyer who needs a stated TMV2 or TMV3 mark.

Common questions

Is the grey Tremax a separate review set?

The listing line is 4.3 from 428, the same count as gold ASIN B08ZMRPYGL, and the first review texts match. Treat them as one pool.

What pressure does this colour print?

The specification field says 10 bars. The gold file’s field says 0.5 kPa. Do not average them. The bullets do not state a pressure.

Which scheme mark is stated?

The specification field says BS and CE. It does not name TMV2, TMV3, BS EN 1111, or BS EN 1287.

Rankomu Rankomufmv79gowcg

Rank 8

Rankomu Rankomufmv79gowcg

∼£16

Our view

The Rankomu is a 320 g inline three-port valve on G1/2, and the £15.99 shelf price is the lowest in this set that still prints a temperature stop. The bullets centre on 38°C ±2°C with a safety lock to 42°C, and they claim an automatic hot-water block above 42°C, though no test volume is given. The title’s 11.67 litres per minute is a title claim, and the file does not show a measured flow. The listing line is 4.3 from 30 reviews. Only one of 15 texts in the file is from the United Kingdom, and that review calls the scale readable, the fit straightforward, and notes a cold-only setting. A bullet says the valve complies with UK safety standards, while the specification field lists ASSE, NSF and UPC, without TMV2, TMV3, BS EN 1111 or BS EN 1287. For an ordinary basin or shower where you want a printed stop and a low shelf price, this is the best value in the set. The single UK text is a thin sample, and a care bath still needs a scheme this listing does not state.

Pros

  • Lowest price in this set that still prints a 38°C stop and a lock to 42°C, at £15.99
  • One UK review finds the scale readable and the fit straightforward, with a cold-only setting
  • Three G1/2 ports on a 320 g body
  • A bullet claims a hot-water block above 42°C

Cons

  • Only one of 15 sampled texts is from the United Kingdom, against 30 reviews on the listing line
  • The UK-safety-standards bullet does not name TMV2, TMV3, BS EN 1111 or BS EN 1287
  • The 11.67 litres per minute title claim and the hot-water block have no test volume
  • A set-name field also says 20–50°C, which sits apart from the 38–42°C bullets

Best for: An ordinary G1/2 shower or basin blend when the budget is near £16 and a printed stop matters more than a large UK review file.

Less suitable: A care bath, a new-dwelling Part G sign-off, or a buyer who reads the UK-safety-standards bullet as a TMV2 certificate.

Common questions

Does Rankomu name a UK TMV scheme?

A bullet says it complies with UK safety standards. The specification field lists ASSE, NSF and UPC. TMV2, TMV3, BS EN 1111 and BS EN 1287 are not named.

What stop temperature is printed?

The bullets say 38°C ±2°C with a safety lock to 42°C, and an automatic hot-water block if the temperature exceeds 42°C. No test volume is given. The title’s 11.67 L/min is a title claim.

Is there a UK review?

The listing line is 4.3 from 30. Of 15 texts in the file, one is from the United Kingdom and calls it solid, readable and easy to fit, with a cold-only setting.

GETSHOWERSET 2WAY-LEDSV-1

Rank 9

GETSHOWERSET 2WAY-LEDSV-1

∼£180

Our view

The GETSHOWERSET 2WAY-LEDSV-1 is a concealed two-way shower valve weighing 2.49 kg, with water-powered LED knobs that the listing says need no batteries. The outlets can run together, the connection is a UK 1/2 inch G1/2, and the bullets claim five years of limited support. At £179.99 it is the only high shelf price in this set. The saved listing has no customer-review line, so there is no star rating to weigh. A 38°C stop, a mixed range and a fail-safe test are all unstated, and no TMV standard is named. What you can see is a shower valve in three pieces, dimensions 27.9 × 20.3 × 15.2 cm, in a brushed-gold finish with a stainless-steel panel claim. It suits you when that concealed finish is the point of the purchase and you will commission the outlet with a thermometer, because the file gives you no temperature evidence to stand on.

Pros

  • Concealed two-way form, with outlets that can run together
  • UK 1/2 inch G1/2 connection
  • Water-powered LED knobs, with no batteries claimed
  • A five-year limited support claim is printed on the listing

Cons

  • No customer-review line in the saved listing
  • No 38°C stop, mixed range or fail-safe claim
  • £179.99 with no named TMV standard
  • No temperature behaviour is described by a buyer in this file

Best for: A concealed brushed-gold shower where the finish and the two outlets are the reason to buy, and you will set the temperature with a thermometer.

Less suitable: Anyone who wants buyer reviews, a printed stop, or a scheme mark before spending £179.99.

No customer-review line is present, so the rating is not stated. Price in the saved listing is £179.99. No TMV2 or TMV3 mark is printed.

How we compared

Nine amazon.co.uk listings are on this page: seven inline bodies, one exposed shower bar and one concealed shower valve. Three further saved listings were set aside because they were an EN 215 radiator valve, a ratio mixer whose reviews say it is not thermostatic, and a globe-style hot/cold switch. The order follows the listing evidence below. This is not a laboratory test, and a star rating is not a fail-safe test.

1

Job and scheme

30%

A new-dwelling bath in England, a care outlet, and a basin or dog wash are different purchases. None of these listings states TMV2 or TMV3.

2

Fail-safe and stop

25%

A printed 38°C button is not a cold-water isolation test. Listings that name a stop, and those that do not, are separated here.

3

Form and connections

20%

An inline three-port body, an exposed shower bar and a concealed valve are not interchangeable. Thread and the printed hot-inlet range have to match the pipe and the cylinder.

4

Review evidence

15%

amazon.co.uk star lines and the sampled UK texts are used as written. The two Tremax colours are one review pool, not two.

5

Shelf price

10%

Prices are the amazon.co.uk shelf figures in the kept files, in GBP. They are not a quote for a scheme-certified valve or for installation.

Thermostatic mixing valve buying guide

Shoppers in this set are mostly choosing a small inline brass valve, an exposed shower bar, or one concealed shower valve. A householder who can feel the heat can use that list for a basin, a bidet spray or a dog wash. A fitter choosing a household shower bar is in a different row of the table. Entry prices in the kept files are £12.69 to £18.99, the mid band is £22.99 to £35.91, and the only high price is £179.99.

What is a thermostatic mixing valve?

A thermostatic mixing valve blends hot and cold water and holds the mixed outlet near a chosen temperature. In a UK home the hot store is kept hot on purpose. HSG274 says store hot water at 60°C or above and aim for 50°C at outlets within a minute, with the blend close to the outlet and TMV strainers cleaned at least annually. BEAMA and Reliance describe a two-metre blended leg as a hygiene limit. The water that touches you is a separate limit.

Best for

  • Householders blending a basin, bidet spray or dog wash who can feel the heat
  • Fitters choosing an exposed bar or a concealed valve for a household shower

Not ideal for

  • A care outlet that needs TMV3 and NHS D08
  • An England new-dwelling bath that must be signed off under Requirement G3(4)

Mistakes to avoid

  1. 1

    Buying a radiator valve

A valve that says thermostatic can still be an EN 215 radiator valve. That product does not blend a bath or shower outlet. One saved listing was set aside for that reason. The note on a [thermostatic mixing valve or a radiator valve](/hub/medical-protection/blog/thermostatic-mixing-valve-or-radiator-valve) is the place to separate the two.

  2. 2

Reading the wrong mark as TMV2

BS EN 1074, CE, ASSE, ASME and a printed 38°C button are not TMV2 or TMV3. NSF defines those schemes against BS EN 1111, BS EN 1287 and D08. None of the nine listings states either scheme.

  3. 3

    Counting the Tremax reviews twice

The gold and grey Tremax listings both show 4.3 from 428, and the sampled texts match. That is one pool on two finishes, including failures inside six months. Adding 428 and 428 does not make 856 separate tests.

What to weigh up

Job and scheme

High

Decide the outlet before you compare star ratings. A basin, a bidet spray or a dog wash, used by someone who can feel heat and will notice a failure, is a household blender. An exposed shower bar and a concealed two-way valve are shower fittings, not inline service valves. A new-dwelling bath in England is Requirement G3(4), capped at 48°C, and only when a dwelling is erected or formed by a material change of use. The Part G FAQ says a new bathroom in an existing dwelling is not that trigger.

Fail-safe, form and thread

High

Approved Document G describes a blend that does not discharge above the maximum. A printed 38°C button is not a cold-water isolation test. Coleniny and kisimixer print 38°C, then 42°C only with the red button, and a mixed band of 35–45°C. Rankomu prints 38°C ±2°C with a lock to 42°C. Bohaner’s button is described as about 50°C. Wincal and the GETSHOWERSET state no stop. Zamery prints a 38°C lock on an exposed bar.

Which option suits you?

Three typical situations, each with a recommendation from this comparison.

Household basin or shower

You can feel the heat and you want the largest inline review file in this set. The Coleniny CN607 prints a 38°C stop and a 35–45°C mixed band. One UK review still reports about 70°C after repeated failures, so you check the outlet yourself.

Our recommendation

Exposed shower bar

You want a wall-mounted bar with one handle for flow and one for temperature, plus a 38°C lock. The Zamery is that form. Eight reviews is a thin file, and the listing does not state TMV2 or TMV3.

Printed stop on a lower budget

You want a G1/2 inline valve near £16 that still prints a 38°C stop and a lock to 42°C. The Rankomu is that listing. Only one of 15 sampled texts is from the United Kingdom, and the UK-safety bullet does not name a TMV scheme.

Common questions about thermostatic mixing valves

Which thermostatic mixing valve is the top pick here?
The Zamery exposed chrome shower bar is the top pick when you want a wall-mounted bar with a separate flow handle and a 38°C lock. It carries the highest score in this set, from a 5.0 line of eight amazon.co.uk reviews, three of them from the UK. It is not an inline basin valve, and the listing does not state TMV2 or TMV3. A care outlet still needs a scheme this bar does not show.
What does a thermostatic mixing valve cost on amazon.co.uk?
In the nine kept listings, inline valves sit between £12.69 and £23.99. The Zamery exposed bar is £35.91. The GETSHOWERSET concealed valve is £179.99. Those are shelf prices in the saved listings, not a market survey. No scheme-certified TMV2 or TMV3 is priced in this scrape. WaterSafe has said a TMV can cost as little as £30, which is a different product class from these listings.
What should you check before you buy?
Start with the job. A new-dwelling bath in England is Requirement G3(4), capped at 48°C. A care outlet is a TMV3 and D08 problem. Then check fail-safe behaviour, not only a red button. Match the form: inline three-port, exposed bar, or concealed valve. Confirm G1/2 or 15 mm rather than 3/4 inch, and read the hot-inlet range against your cylinder. None of these listings states TMV2 or TMV3.
Do any of these valves state TMV2 or TMV3?
No. None of the nine kept listings states TMV2, TMV3, BS EN 1111 or BS EN 1287. ASSE, CSA, CE, BS EN 1074, ASME and a 38°C button are not those schemes. NSF defines TMV2 against BS EN 1111:2017 and/or BS EN 1287:2017, and TMV3 against D08. The TMV2 and TMV3 guide sets out the domestic scheme against the healthcare scheme.
Does England’s 48°C bath rule apply to an existing home?
Requirement G3(4) caps a fixed bath at 48°C only when a dwelling is erected or formed by a material change of use. The Part G FAQ says a new bathroom in an existing dwelling is not that trigger. Do not paste that England rule onto Scotland or Northern Ireland without the local document. 48°C is also not NHS D08’s 44°C bath maximum for healthcare.
When should you call a competent person?
Call a competent person for a hospital, clinic or care outlet, and for a new dwelling that must sign off G3(4). Call them if full hot water reaches the tap, and if storage can exceed 80°C, where Approved Document G paragraph 3.64 also points at a BS EN 15092 tempering valve. Fitting a household blender you can feel by hand is a different job from commissioning a care outlet.
Is a 38°C button the same as a fail-safe test?
No. Approved Document G describes a blend that does not discharge above the maximum. A printed 38°C button is not a cold-water isolation test. Rankomu and Bohaner claim a reaction if the hot side runs away or the cold supply fails, and neither states a test volume. A star rating, including 4.6 from 87 or 5.0 from 8, is not that test either.

Our verdict

The top pick is Coleniny CN607, with the highest score in this comparison (9.1 out of 10, from 87 amazon.co.uk reviews). The Rankomu is the best value when you want a printed stop near £16 on an ordinary G1/2 blend. Neither listing, and none of the other seven, states TMV2 or TMV3. A care outlet or an England new-dwelling bath that must be signed off needs a scheme route this set does not show.
