Laser level cost UK: what £20, £50 and £150 really buy

Laser level cost UK from £18.69 to £154 on amazon.co.uk: what £50 adds, what a trade counter charges, and which extras the box still leaves out for you.
On this page

You are pricing a first cross-line laser for a shelf run or a splashback, and the amazon.co.uk grid runs from a green cube at £18.69 to a Bosch green line laser at £154.00. The laser level cost UK shoppers actually face sits in three bands inside that spread, and the band only helps if you know which job you are buying for.
We compared twelve amazon.co.uk listings in October 2026, plus named UK trade-counter pages, and we did not run a lab test. Listing figures are maker claims. A qualifying purchase through our links can earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Shelf prices move, so treat the pounds below as the prices on those pages when we read them.
In short
On the twelve amazon.co.uk listings in our cross line laser comparison, a cross-line laser costs from £18.69 to £154.00. About £20 to £35 buys a single cross for one indoor wall, often with a short stand or with none. About £50 buys a rechargeable green cross, and about £120 to £154 buys plumb points or a heavier multi-plane kit. A receiver and a ceiling-height tripod are often still extra.
Three bands on amazon.co.uk
The entry band is about £19 to £35. The Nikotek green cube is £18.69, with 4.4 from 1,551 ratings, Class II under 1 mW, IP54, two AA cells, and a 1/4 inch thread. There is no tripod and no numeric accuracy. The RockSeed LV1 red cross is £22.99, with 4.3 from 6,010 ratings and ±2.5 mm that does not say per metre. The green RockSeed LV1GT is £29.99, and its title mentions a tripod of about 65.6 cm that the what-you-get bullet does not list. The Nikotek with a 66 cm tripod is also £29.99. The Lusweimi at £34.99 includes a 127 cm tripod and states ±3 mm over 10 metres, with 4.2 from 92 ratings.
The middle band is about £50 to £90: the DOVOH C2-120G at £49.99, a Huepar cross with a 100 cm tripod at £55.99, the SAVSEC 4×360 degree kit at £75.99, and the Bosch GLL 2-10 at £89.95. The upper band is about £120 to £154: the Bosch GCL 2-15 at £119.99, the Huepar 703CG at £144.32, and the Bosch GLL 20-22 G at £154.00.
A single cross suits one wall. Plumb dots on the GCL 2-15 transfer a point up or down. A 360 degree plane covers several walls from one setup, and it is usually heavier and dearer. The cross line laser buying guide puts those choices in order.
What a cross line laser under £50 adds
The step up from the £18.69 cube is the DOVOH C2-120G at £49.99, with 4.5 from 286 ratings. It is a green two-line cross with a 2600 mAh pack, USB-C charging, a stated eight hours, a magnetic bracket, a bag, and a pendulum lock. Pulse mode is stated, and a 10 kHz receiver is not in the box. The 60 m figure needs that receiver. The listing prints no numeric accuracy, no IP rating, and no laser class.
The Huepar at £55.99 adds a 35 cm to 100 cm tripod that reviewers call flimsy. Its accuracy is printed as ±1/9 inch at 33 feet, which is not a millimetre-per-metre line. The Bosch GLL 2-10 at £89.95 is the reason to leave this shelf when you want ±0.3 mm/m and a stated range of up to 10 m. It is red, 4.5 from 1,704 ratings, IP54, with three AA cells and a pouch. There is no tripod, no printed laser class, and no pendulum lock in the fields we used. Who should skip each tool is on the best cross line laser page.
What £120 to £154 is paying for
The Bosch GCL 2-15 at £119.99 has the deepest rating file here, 4.6 from 7,977 ratings. It is a red cross plus two centred plumb points, Class 2, ±0.3 mm/m, IP54, three AA cells, and an RM 1 mount with a target. A tripod is not in the box. You pay this when a point has to move up or down and you want Class 2 beside a per-metre figure.
The Huepar 703CG at £144.32 projects three green 360 degree planes, stated as Class 2 under 1 mW and ±3 mm at 10 m, self-levelling within 3.5 degrees before the line flashes. The kit weighs 1.95 kg, against 4.4 from 835 ratings, and the box has no tripod. The Bosch GLL 20-22 G at £154.00, with 4.4 from 66 ratings, is a green two-line laser at 680 g, IP65, with an LB 10 bracket and AA cells. English text states ±0.3 mm without per metre, and it states no working range and no laser class. The £154 does not buy a 360 degree plane.
Where a listing prints Class 2, GOV.UK describes visible light that is low risk for a brief glance because you look away. Dazzle still matters on a ladder, and some products marked Class 2 measure far higher, so the label does not prove an output under 1 mW. A missing label, or a Class 3B or Class 4 mark, is a reason to stop. Kit glasses are not certified protective eyewear.
Trade counter laser level prices
Screwfix listed the DeWalt DW088CG-XJ, a green self-levelling cross-line, at £127.99 including VAT, with ±0.3 mm/m and 15 m without a receiver. Another capture of that page sat at £154.99 including VAT. The DeWalt is not one of the twelve ASINs, so that counter price stays off the Bosch and Huepar rows. Toolstation lists a Bosch Quigo green at £89.99, with ±0.6 mm/m and 12 m. That Quigo is outside the twelve. It sits near the GLL 2-10 at £89.95, with a looser accuracy line and 12 m against the GLL's up to 10 m. On amazon.co.uk those Bosch names are three different tools: the GLL 2-10, the GCL 2-15, and the GLL 20-22 G.
BuildWiz's table is a rule of thumb for trade counters: red crosses often start near £40 to £55, and a green cross sits nearer £150, in a spread from about £40 to about £155. That is not a count of every branch, and it is not a market size. Trade pages often start near £40 and skip the amazon.co.uk cubes from £18.69. They also rarely split a £50 rechargeable green cross from a £120 red tool whose extra is plumb dots. A trade login can show a net price, so match the model, the VAT line, and whether a receiver is in the bundle before you treat two tickets as the same deal.
Costs that are not in the laser box
The stand changes what you actually pay. Reviewers call the Nikotek 66 cm tripod too short and wobbly for a ceiling line. The Lusweimi's 127 cm stand, at £34.99, is the tallest here, with a thin review file. The Huepar 100 cm tripod in the £55.99 kit is called flimsy. The DOVOH, the GLL 2-10, the GCL 2-15, the GLL 20-22 G, and the Huepar 703CG omit a full-height tripod. A 1/4 inch thread fits a camera tripod you may already own. If you do not, the next stand is a second purchase.
Pulse mode on the DOVOH and the SAVSEC is how those listings describe a longer range, and neither box includes the receiver. The DOVOH's 60 m claim needs a 10 kHz receiver. Direct sun hides both colours unless that receiver is in your hands. These twelve listings do not price a receiver. Over tens of metres, a rotary is the usual site tool.
When a drop leaves the line out of agreement with a spirit level, you are buying another tool or a repair you price yourself. Structural marks and outdoor level over tens of metres belong with a professional. The pendulum lock is for the bag and for a slope you choose. Level marks need the pendulum free, inside a window most of these listings put at about ±4 degrees. Read the unit before you compare pounds: ±0.3 mm/m on the GLL 2-10 and the GCL 2-15 is a different claim from ±2.5 mm with no distance on the RockSeed, or from ±0.3 mm with no per-metre note on the GLL 20-22 G. Colour is a separate choice on the green or red cross line laser page.
