Expandable hose wall holder

Updated: October 2026

The fabric hose is on the path again, and the frame you bought for a rubber hose is the wrong shape to wrap it round. An expandable hose wall holder, in this set, means a loose hang at the tap, not a tight coil on a saddle. You should leave knowing which listing is built for that hang, when the opening misses the pipework, and when a pot is the store instead. The other rows are on the [wall hose holders](/hub/garden-watering/wall-hose-holder) comparison. Products Compared read the listings on 16 October 2026. There is no lab test of stretch or frost. Why this hose is stored differently

An expandable hose lengthens under pressure and shrinks when you turn the tap off. Easy Garden Irrigation says you must not crank it onto a reel, and that wrapping it on a reel or a holder can stretch it. The store they name is a container or a hose pot, indoors or lidded, out of direct sun. A retail line that says the hose will not kink is about a loose hang. It is not permission to treat the fabric like reinforced rubber. A loose loop over a tap hook lets the hose contract beside the bib. A tight wrap on an open frame, or a crank that tensions it, works against the fabric. Bore and brick fixings for an ordinary hose are on the garden hose holder buying guide. Stay here if the hose in your hand is the fabric one.

The tap hook in this set

Navoys, B0F1Z3NYXM, is the listing built for this job. It is an open-ended iron hook at £6.48, 4.3 from 189 reviews. The bullet covers expandable hoses from 25 ft (7.62 m) to 100 ft (30.48 m). No load is stated. The box is the holder only. The surface line says wood, which is not how most reviewers use it. They drop the hook over the outdoor tap and do not drill. The features line says rust resistant. One review says the iron rusted very quickly. It is the best value here for a loose hang, and a poor buy if you needed a stated load or a stainless grade. The sticker is the complaint that comes up most, and one hook flopped open under the hose.

When the hook misses the tap

One review says the hole was too small, so the hook hung off the front of the tap. One miss is enough to check your tap first. This page cannot say Navoys fits 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1 inch taps. That split is the Gardena Liano TapFix, a screw-on adaptor for up to 20 m of 13 mm Liano hose, seen at £17.95, and not in this set. If your bib is bulkier than the Navoys opening, the box has no adaptor. Screw a different bracket to the wall, using the how to fit a hose holder steps, or put the hose in a pot and leave the tap clear.

The other eight listings

brackit, GARTOL, both Josmimic saddles, ZHABAYEN, Ghligna, and HUIQIHANG are screwed frames. Wrapping expandable hose around them is what Easy Garden Irrigation tells you not to do. SMARYONG is the near miss: a wall hook with drywall anchors, not a tap hang. One review says a 150 ft expandable hose did not sit well and that 100 ft fitted better. If you were about to crank the same hose, stop. A lidded pot out of the sun is the other store named by Easy Garden Irrigation. No pot is in this set.

Winter

Disconnect, drain, and store the hose before frost. That is WaterSafe’s sequence. The hook does not empty the hose. If the opening misses the pipework, do not force it and do not wrap the hose onto brackit.

Common questions

Can you wrap an expandable hose on a wall holder?
Easy Garden Irrigation says not to. Wrapping or cranking can stretch the fabric. A loose hang is what Navoys reviewers describe. brackit’s curve is for a hose you coil, not for fabric you pull tight around that frame. Leave it loose.
Which of the nine is the tap hook?
Navoys, B0F1Z3NYXM, at £6.48. It is iron, listed from 25 ft to 100 ft of expandable hose, and the box is the holder only. The other eight are wall brackets you screw up. Most Navoys reviews never drill at all.
Will it fit every outdoor tap?
No. One review says the hole was too small. The listing states no tap diameter. Do not copy Gardena TapFix’s 1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, and 1 inch sizes onto Navoys. This box has no adaptor for a larger bib. Check the tap first.
Does the Navoys box include screws?
No. The included item is the holder. The usual use needs no screws. One reviewer also screws it to a wall, which means fixings you buy. The surface line says wood, not an exterior brick wall. You supply any screws.
What length does the Navoys listing claim?
From 25 ft (7.62 m) to 100 ft (30.48 m), with no stated load. Reviews mention a 15 m hose. One says it would not hold a very long hose. The 100 ft end is a claim, not a measurement from those reviews.
Can you put a 150 ft expandable hose on the SMARYONG hook?
One review says it did not sit comfortably, and that 100 ft fitted better. That hook is not a tap hook. Creasing on the metal is a separate complaint. Do not wrap the hose to force the 150 ft line.
Should the hose stay connected in winter?
No. Disconnect, drain, and store it before frost. The hook will not do that, and a reel is no better if you then crank the fabric hose. Easy Garden Irrigation’s warning covers the drum as well as a tight wrap.
